Now is the Time! If not now, when? If not you, who? I believe each of us were created for such a time as this and it is upon us now. One only has to look at a television screen or computer monitor to recognize that something is wrong and has been out of control. Isn’t that what we’re all about? being in control? When things are out of control we get all messed up in our thinking. And sometimes that thinking starts stinking. But the Lord and the Word of God is the solution to getting back on the right track.

Heart Beat Again, Heart Hope Again
Over months of intercession regarding our nation and the matters on the heart of our Lord, I have covered many topics. Always on the table is the matter of self examination and repentance, an attitude of gratitude, justice and national security, praying for our national and spiritual leaders, human trafficking, opioid addiction, military and first responders, loving one another.
Kingdom Justice Aligning!
As I have been reflecting on world events, I have been narrowing my prayer focus on justice. I remember my early childhood. My father, a WWII navy veteran and the recipient of a purple heart, had pictorial history books of the war and current events of that time. I was young when I saw the photos of the nazi concentration camps and the unspeakable horrors that were inflicted upon the jewish people, christians, gypsies and homosexuals, it haunted my dreams….. I developed a strong sense of justice and hatred for injustice.

What is common sense? The New Oxford American Dictionary describes it as “good sense and sound judgment in practical matters.” Covid -19 fear seems to have been thrown common sense out the window along with everything we have ever known as we face the global conundrum (confusing and difficult problem) of Covid-19.

In years gone by, I have experienced trauma in the death of loved ones and fellow officers in the line of duty. But during those times I didn’t have a relationship with the Lord like I do now.

Israel is a land and a people for whom the Lord cares deeply. So much so that His eyes are always on it, “from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year." That means every single day of the year, day in and day out, He never removes His eyes from Israel. Deuteronomy 11:12 This is the only time the Bible teaches us what God does each and every day. As the end of time approaches, we also must keep our eyes on Israel. It has been said that Jerusalem, the epicenter of YHWH’s love, is the center of all time. I am not a scientist but I do believe that.
For I Know the Thoughts
Well the last week has certainly been a wild ride! I believe without doubt that last week the Lord heard our prayers as we poured ourselves out before Him on behalf of our nation and challenged the plans of evil being acted out by the regime ruling the nation of Iran. I believe war before its time has been averted through prayer and intercession of the saints. Our prayers over several weeks have been for the people of Iran to be set free from the tyranny that has ruled for decades. They have been stripped of hope and destiny by the demonic oppression and suppression and the persecution of the underground church which despite all the odds is exploding.
Shields Up! Swords Ready!
For most of today I have been drafting prayer points regarding matters of grave importance for our nation and the rattling of sabers with Iran. As you may remember, several weeks ago we prayed that the people of Iran would be delivered from the brutal regime and terrors of the Iran Revolutionary Guard and the radical Islamic clerics that rule the nation. Reports out of Iran have revealed that thousands have perished when they dissented with the regime. The underground church is exploding in numbers and the people are crying out for change.
The War Between Our Ears
Recently I had the opportunity to enjoy several weeks of refreshing provided by the Lord. Did it show up in a pretty wrapped box with a gorgeous bow? No, but it was pretty close to that. What became abundantly clear to me is that often we need a time of refreshing away from daily stressors and especially to recognize it as such when the Lord presents it. Who would know better what we need than the Holy Spirit?
Is There Reason for Treason?
Many years ago, on the day following my father’s passing, A small package arrived at his home from the U.S. Government. In it were his military medals and ribbons from that long ago time when he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He must have sensed that his time was near when he sent for them. He was never a man to brag about what he had done in his time of service to his country but he was fiercely loyal to our nation and the flag that represented it. When the Pledge of Allegiance would be recited at public events and the national anthem sung, he would get tears in his eyes with his hand over his heart in a sign of respect.
Legislators Must Legislate Righteously
This letter today is shorter but the prayers are longer..Today was the first day of actual Impeachment Inquiry proceedings against the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.. I did not watch TV since I don’t have one, but I did an awful lot of praying with the Holy Spirit. I can’t help but wonder what other nations must be thinking about the proceedings that are being played out in the public media. As a prayer strategy I do believe it is paramount that we pray according to scripture and pray for the Lord’s will to be done in these proceedings.
Praying the End Before the Beginning
During the last several months we have seen violence and chaos in our streets, on campuses, at places of religious worship, in homes, in businesses and government offices. Talks of civil war and slander and accusation in the main stream media. Disaster after Disaster after disaster has occurred with floods, drought, hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires. Unexplained explosions and earthquakes. Terror cels have been broken up and assassination attempts against President Trump have also been averted. Human trafficking and drug smuggling have been exposed.
