INSIGHT FOR INTERCESSORS

Kolyah

September 15, 2021

NOTE: Do not share this material with those who are not of like mind; especially those who are hostile to our faith and values. There are individuals and organizations, who would like to keep this voice from speaking and from being heard. Please use Divine discernment. Thank you so much!

As promised, here is a copy of the most meaningful prayer of confession used on Yom Kippur … the Al Chet prayer. It is such a comprehensive prayer that I find it helpful to pray anytime throughout the year, whenever a personal inventory and cleansing of the soul is needed. Those, who have clean hands and a pure heart can come in to be intimately close to the Lord and King.

Psalm 24:3-5 (NASB)

3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear deceitfully. 5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from the God of his salvation.

The Al Chet prayer helps us come to that place of having cleansed hands and purified hearts, as we transparently look inward, confess, and acknowledge our sins before the Lord. We pause and reflect upon each sin mentioned. We consider how we have violated the law of love and holiness, laid out in His word and inspired by the Holy Spirit. This is not a prayer done on the run, or by rote. It is for the purpose of serious inspection before the Lord. May this prayer and your time of prayer before the Lord be a special blessing for you on this Yom Kippur.

Shalom b’Yeshua,

Kolyah

The Al Chet Prayer
