Trump Rededicates America
|
|
President Trump issued a proclamation this week honoring “250 years of American freedom and independence.” The proclamation, rooted in celebrating and rededicating the nation, highlights America’s story of liberty and faith.
“As we celebrate the 250th year since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we acknowledge with gratitude and pride that July 4, 1776, represents the most seminal political event in all of human history,” the proclamation states.
The nation’s conviction that every individual is “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” remains the “bedrock of our government and the crown jewel of Western civilization,” it declares, going on to urge Americans to “ask our Creator to bless America, free our Nation and our people from all threats to our safety and happiness, and to guide our actions for the security and common good of all Americans.” (American Faith) Read More Here

Holy Father, we PRAISE You for seating a President in office who understands that ALL good things come from You! We celebrate our Commander in Chief calling upon the American people to come before Almighty God with petitions for blessings, protection upon our country and Abba's guidance, for the good of all citizens. May our entire nation raise prayers of repentance, crying out for restoration and a return to righteousness! As we prepare for America's 250th Anniversary, we invite You Lord to penetrate into every aspect of our government and every mountain of society to bring miraculous change, all for Your GLORY! By the Blood and powerful Name of Yeshua, we pray-Amen and Amen.
"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment." (Romans 13:1-2)

Border Czar Homan Says More Than 145,000 Illegal Immigrant Children Located
|
|
U.S. authorities have located more than 145,000 illegal immigrant children who were previously unaccounted for under the Biden administration, border czar Tom Homan said on Jan. 30.
Homan said the findings came as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the FBI, and the Health and Human Services Department’s Office of Refugee Resettlement continue efforts to locate “more than 300,000 unaccompanied alien children” whom he said had been “turned over to unvetted sponsors, lost track of, and weren’t looking forward” under the Biden administration.
“Through their outstanding efforts, they have so far been able to locate more than 145,000,” the border czar said on X. Homan did not provide details on the status or condition of the children.
“President [Donald] Trump promised that we would find these children, and under his strong leadership and with his unwavering support, the patriots at these, and other partner, agencies have been—and will continue to do—just that,” he added.
The investigation followed an August 2024 report by the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of Inspector General, which showed that more than 323,000 illegal immigrant children were unaccounted for in the United States.
Of those, more than 291,000 unaccompanied migrant children had not been served court notices by ICE as of May 2024, while another 32,000 were served notices to appear in court but failed to do so, according to the report. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Lord God we praise and thank you for this victory! We pray this information gets out and our country understands that the mission of ICE is to implement justice in our nation. We pray that this trafficking agenda of children is brought down to ashes, and completely destroyed, in Jesus' name. And we pray that everyone involved would be found out, and that justice would be done, in Jesus' name, amen.

ICE arrests over 650 illegal aliens across West Virginia with state, local police backing

Operation targeted convicted child sex abuser and other criminals during two-week enforcement surge across six cities
|
|
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested more than 650 illegal aliens across West Virginia during a two-week statewide operation conducted in coordination with local law enforcement agencies and without protests, federal officials announced.
ICE said in a press release Sunday that the operation ran from Jan. 5 to Jan. 19 and involved 14 federal, state and local law enforcement partners.
ICE deployed teams to Charleston, Martinsburg, Beckley, Moorefield, Morgantown and Huntington as part of the operation.
Law enforcement officials arrested more than 650 illegal aliens, including individuals ICE said pose threats to public safety and national security, as well as others who entered the country illegally.
"This operation demonstrates how strong partnerships between ICE and West Virginia law enforcement agencies enhance public safety and the integrity of our immigration system," ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Michael Rose said. "By training and supporting our… partners across the state, we’ve expanded local capacity to identify, arrest and process illegal aliens while ensuring these authorities are exercised professionally and consistent with the law." (Fox News) Read more here.

|
Lord God, we thank You for this great report! We continue to pray for the safety of law enforcement agents as they continue their work to help our country. Lord, we know we have the right to peacefully protest in our country but we pray against protesters or rioters that seek to cause chaos and division, that their agenda would be stopped as this enforcement of our laws continues. We pray peace and protection over our nation, that no harm or evil will prevail, in Jesus' name, amen.
“But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

Hundreds of anti-ICE protesters shut down streets in Portland
|
|
|
Federal agents used pepper balls, tear gas against demonstrators outside detention facility
|
|
Hundreds of protesters opposing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) marched through downtown Portland on Sunday, temporarily shutting down roads as they walked from City Hall to a detention facility in the South Waterfront.
Video from Fox 12 Oregon captured demonstrators carrying signs urging ICE to leave the city and calling for accountability in the January deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, both of whom were shot and killed by federal agents in Minneapolis.
The local station reported that Portland Contra Las Deportaciones, an immigrant rights organization, held a rally at City Hall in the afternoon before marching to the ICE facility.
"People are outraged, and I think people are seeing that, you know, our leaders have routes that they could be taking," said Cami Saunders of Portland Contra las Deportaciones.
Footage from the scene showed federal agents firing tear gas and pepper balls at protesters as they stood outside the entrance to the facility, which has been used as an ICE field office since 2011.
"About eight or 10 of them came out with guns, whatever kind of guns they have and flash bombed, just started throwing them at the crowd – just exploding everywhere. It was like a war zone," said a female protester who was only identified as Robin.
"It felt like we were under attack. I definitely got hit. I had to run around the corner and pour a bunch of water on my face," she told Fox 12.
Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek criticized federal immigration enforcement actions in the state, saying ICE has "no place in Oregon."
"The use of tear gas against families, children, and peaceful demonstrators yesterday is a horrific abuse of authority that undermines public safety and violates constitutional rights," she wrote in a post on X. "Federal agents must stand down and be held accountable." (Fox News) Read more here.

Lord right now in the name of Jesus, we break off the funding for this protest. We break this divisiveness and chaos that it will not affect our country in a negative way. We break all attacks to cause violence in our cities and we declare our country will walk in love and mercy, in Jesus' name, amen.
"He has told you, mortal one, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?"

Trump says Iran ‘seriously talking’ with US as Tehran looks to avert strikes
|
|
|
US President Donald Trump said Saturday that Iran is “seriously talking” with Washington, as Tehran looks to avert military strikes amid weeks of heightened tensions with the United States.
Asked by reporters aboard Air Force One what his latest thinking is on Iran, Trump initially declined to respond before reiterating that he has dispatched significant military assets to the region.
Washington has deployed warships led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier off Iran’s shores, after Trump threatened to intervene in the wake of Tehran’s deadly crackdown on anti-government protests.
“I hope they negotiate something that’s acceptable,” he said, specifying that he is looking for a deal that leads to Iran giving up its nuclear weapons.
Asked about the Saudi defense minister reportedly saying Trump failing to strike would embolden Iran, the US president said: “Some people think that. Some people don’t.”
“You could make a negotiated deal that would be satisfactory with no nuclear weapons… They should do that, but I don’t know that they will. They are talking to us — seriously talking,” Trump added. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

Lord we pray for clarity and wisdom for president Trump that he makes the right decisions concerning Iran. We cover all the citizens in Iran who are suffering, that you would help them Lord God. And we pray a hedge of protection over our nation that no weapon formed against us or Israel shall prosper, in Jesus' name, amen.
“Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will protect them from those who malign them.” (Psalms 12:5)

Khamenei: An American attack will mean regional war
|
|
|
An American attack on Iran will spark a wider conflict, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei again threatened on Sunday.
“The Americans should know if they start a war, this time it will be a regional war,” the Islamic Republic posted on the ruler’s official X account.
Khamenei said the same at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Hussainiya ceremonial hall and religious-political complex, during an event marking the anniversary of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s 1979 return from exile and the start of the 11-day Fajr celebrations of the Islamic Revolution.
Trump says Iranian regime ‘talking seriously’
Khamenei spoke amid escalating tensions following his regime’s violent crackdown last month on nationwide protests, as U.S. President Donald Trump pressures Tehran to negotiate over its nuclear program while threatening military action in response to the deadly use of force against demonstrators—and as Washington deploys the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group and other assets to the region.
Over the weekend, deadly explosions occurred in the port city of Bandar Abbas and in Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan Province, with blasts also reported elsewhere. Iranian authorities claimed the explosions were caused by a gas leak, and Tasnim News Agency denied reports that IRGC Navy head Commodore Alireza Tangsiri had been assassinated.
Meanwhile, Iran conducted missile tests on Saturday, and a large live-fire naval drill is scheduled for Sunday and Monday in the Strait of Hormuz.
United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has warned Iran not to exploit the drills and is pressing Tehran to scale them back amid fears that a miscalculation could ignite a war. In a statement on Friday, CENTCOM urged the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps “to conduct the announced naval exercise in a manner that is safe, professional and avoids unnecessary risk to freedom of navigation for international maritime traffic.”
U.S. Air Forces Central announced on Jan. 26 that it would be conducting a multi-day exercise in CENTCOM’s area of responsibility in the Middle East amid the force buildup and escalating tensions with Iran.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Sunday that Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir held intensive talks in Washington in recent days as Jerusalem and the United States deepen security coordination over a possible strike on Iran. The visit came after Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM, met with Zamir in Israel on Jan. 24. (JNS.org) Read more here.

Lord God we continue to cover the Middle East in the blood of Jesus. We cover all those who are suffering that you would send supernatural help. We come against division, confusion, war and all threats and break their powers now, in Jesus' name. Give our leaders and others making tough choices about war wisdom and courage to do what’s right, in Jesus' name. Amen.
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” (Matthew 24:6-7)

1. Netanyahu to Iran: 'Anyone who attacks us will suffer unbearable consequences'
- Israel National News
A special debate was held in the Knesset plenum marking 77 years since the establishment of the Knesset. The President of the State was absent from the session after the President of the Supreme Court was not invited. The opposition also boycotted the debate, though MK Yair Lapid did deliver a speech.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the fact that Justice Yitzhak Amit was not invited to the session and said: “I hope that next year we will overcome all the obstacles and reach full understandings. We want to arrive at the same understandings that guided the State of Israel for decades."
He added, “We need to restore the balance between the three branches of government. In the past, it was customary that the judiciary was selected through the Knesset. Let us moderate the tone of the debate. I will act to reach understandings." (Read more)

US envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to arrive in Israel on Tuesday for meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, according to two senior Israeli officials.
The discussions will likely concern Iran, after Zamir was in Washington DC over the weekend for a series of discussions with American defense officials regarding the Islamic Republic.

3. Netanyahu reveals vision of ‘great things’ for Israel’s north - JNS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday unveiled a government plan that would direct billions of shekels to three Israeli locales near the border with Lebanon—Kiryat Shmona, Shlomi and Metula.
“We are bringing an immediate plan for the rehabilitation, development and growth” of the three areas in the Upper Galilee, Netanyahu said during a speech at the weekly Cabinet meeting. It was held in Kiryat Shmona to signal the government’s commitment to the issue.
The new plan will mean “grants for businesses and residents, more resources for housing, industry, medicine, transportation and academic institutions—and that’s only during the first phase,” said Netanyahu.
Roughly a third of Kiryat Shmona’s pre-war population of approximately 26,000 people have not returned since being evacuated in 2023, according to the municipality. Israel evacuated more than 60,000 civilians from the border area in October 2023, when Hezbollah began targeting it in solidarity with Hamas. In September 2024, Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, among other commanders, and eliminated many of its capabilities. (Read more)

4. Israel to legalize 140 farms in Judea and Samaria - World Israel News
The Israeli government is preparing to normalize the status of 140 Jewish farms across Judea and Samaria, Defense Minister Israel Katz (Likud) announced on Monday, as part of a larger effort to combat unauthorized land seizures by Palestinian Arabs.
Katz addressed a conference on agriculture in Samaria, organized by the Benjamin Regional Council, the Arutz Sheva media outlet, the government’s Ministry of Settlements and National Missions, and the Israeli farms association, lauding the “pioneering” spirit of agricultural workers in Judea and Samaria.
“Anyone who seeks to see Zionism at its best—what deep commitment to the Land of Israel is, and what a true connection to the soil of the land looks like—will find all of this in the agricultural farms of Judea and Samaria,” Katz said.
“This tremendous and important endeavor is a direct continuation of pioneering settlement across generations, from the beginnings of Zionism to the present day, and it also provides a tailwind that gives momentum to the entire settlement enterprise.” (Read more)

5. 2,000-year-old Pilgrimage Road to Temple Mount opens to public after years of digging - Times of Israel
For Michael Ganeles and his wife, visiting the City of David in Jerusalem was a must when they took their three children to Israel for the first time from West Hempstead, New York, to celebrate their middle daughter’s bat mitzvah.
When the family learned that the site known as the “Pilgrims’ Path” or “Pilgrimage Road,” a roughly 2,000-year-old stepped street that led up to the Temple Mount from the southern part of the city, would open to the public during their stay, they wanted to be part of it.
“We were looking into the City of David, and when we saw they were offering a first tour [of the Pilgrimage Road] we told ourselves that we had to do it,” Ganeles told The Times of Israel last month. “My kids kept on asking when we are getting to see the street.”

1. Trump administration military strikes against drug cartels in Mexico would carry risks - Washington Examiner
A significant ingredient of President Donald Trump‘s foreign policy during his second term is keeping other nations off balance. Whether allies, enemies, or nations worried about becoming the latter, the collective international inability to predict what Trump will do next anywhere in the world has left many nations wondering whether to extend a presidential invite or prepare for war.
Most recently, Trump’s surprise raid in Venezuela stretched the boundaries of what foreign players believe he might do. Now, while more extremist commentators in Canada have warned that the president could look to grab northern territory, it’s Mexico that has a more legitimate reason to worry.
The Trump administration made clear a desire to stem the drug trade, especially in light of the current fentanyl epidemic, putting the cartels and any officials seen as supporting them on notice. While a direct assault on the Mexican military seems unlikely, Trump clearly has his targets set on the country’s powerful narco cartels. However, he could find those drug organizations more difficult targets than comparatively weak Mexican forces. (Read more)

Father, we pray wisdom on President Trump as he desires to tackle the fentanyl drug trade. Give him a strategy to fight the drug cartels and win. We pray the Angels surround him because he is entering dangerous territory.

2. Trump’s ‘massive armada’ near Iran mirrors military buildup in Caribbean - The Hill
President Trump’s “massive armada” of warships and fighter planes near Iran mirrors the military buildup of assets in the Caribbean as the president weighs greenlighting strikes against the Islamic Republic.
The military buildup, bolstered with the recent arrival of the USS Abraham Lincoln and its strike group in the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) area, has swelled with additional destroyers approaching Iran, expanding Trump’s attack and defensive options in the region.
Similarly to Venezuela, the U.S. has at least 10 warships near Iran, and the administration has sent additional fighter jets, air defense systems and drones to the region.
Just like Maduro, Iranian officials are not acquiescing to Trump’s demands. He has called on Iran to halt the enrichment of uranium, place limits on its ballistic missile program and end ties with terror proxy groups. (Read more)

3. Trump sues IRS and Treasury for $10 billion over tax return leak - Washington Examiner
President Donald Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS and Treasury Department as one of the plaintiffs on Thursday, alleging a former IRS employee leaked his confidential tax records over six years ago.
The federal lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of Florida, accuses the IRS and Treasury of failing to prevent the tax return leak carried out by Charles “Chaz” Littlejohn. The former IRS employee illegally accessed and disclosed the tax records to liberal news outlets in 2019 and 2020.
“Defendants had a duty to safeguard and protect Plaintiffs’ confidential tax returns and related tax return information from such unauthorized inspection and public disclosure,” the 27-page lawsuit states. “Accordingly, Defendants were obligated to have appropriate technical, employee screening, security, and monitoring systems to prevent Littlejohn’s unlawful conduct. Defendants failed to take such mandatory precautions,” it adds. (Read more)

4. European parliament votes to list IRGC as terror organization as EU moves to impose new sanctions on Iran - The Christian Post
European foreign ministers voted on Thursday to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terror organization, following significant lobbying efforts after the deadly crackdowns by the Iranian regime on protesters.
The move was expected after several countries, which had previously opposed such a step, indicated their willingness to do so over the past few days.
The EU’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, told reporters ahead of meetings in Brussels on Thursday morning that “Iran’s security forces are responsible for mass killings. The main topic is Iran,” Kallas told the reporters ahead of the parliamentary session. “We are putting new sanctions on the list, and I also expect that we agree on listing the Iran Revolutionary Guard on the terrorist list. “This will put them on the same footing with al-Qaeda, Hamas, Daesh (ISIS),” she continued, stating, “If you act as a terrorist, you should be treated as a terrorist.”
Later in the day, Kallas made another post to social media, in which she wrote, "Repression cannot go unanswered." Read more

6. Trump signs executive order for America 250 IndyCar race on the National Mall - Washington Examiner
President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday aimed at holding an IndyCar race in Washington.
“We’re going to be celebrating greatness with American motor racing,” Trump said during a signing in the Oval Office attended by Roger Penske, who owns IndyCar. “I think it’s going to set a record for racing.”
The order instructs the Interior and Transportation departments to work with District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser to develop the plan for the “grand prix” event. It is set to take place Aug. 21-23 on the National Mall in honor of the country’s 250th anniversary of independence. It will be free to the public, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said during remarks alongside Trump, in which he called the president “an athlete” and hailed the economic impact he said the race would have on the city.

Redeemed through the Waters
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, February 2, 2026
In Beshalach (“When He Sent”), in Exodus 13:17-17:16, the LORD leads Israel out of Egypt by cloud and fire, deliberately avoiding the direct route. Instead, He positions them at the Sea of Suf, seemingly trapped. Pharaoh takes the bait. What looks like poor strategy becomes a stage for revelation. Israel walks through the sea on dry ground while Egypt’s power collapses behind them. The people sing in triumph, yet within days they grumble, thirst, and hunger. God answers with bread from heaven and water from the Rock. Then Amalek attacks from the rear, targeting the weak. Victory comes only as Moses lifts his hands, and the LORD declares Himself ADONAI Nissi, the banner under which His people stand.
The location matters. God tells Moses to camp near Ba’al Tz’fon, a Canaanite deity associated with wind, water, and darkness. This was the last false god untouched by the plagues. Pharaoh assumed Israel was cornered under Ba’al’s supposed authority. God used that assumption to bring judgment. Through wind and water, the very elements Ba’al claimed to control, ADONAI demonstrated absolute supremacy. Exodus says the east wind blew all night, and the sea split. Israel crossed and was redeemed. Egypt followed and was judged. Only then would Pharaoh and the nations grasp the point of it all: “I am ADONAI.” The victory song that followed was spontaneous and prophetic, centered on a single question, “Who is like You, ADONAI, among the mighty?” Read More

Trump Selects Kevin Warsh as Next Fed Chairman
|
|
|
|
President Donald Trump on Friday announced his selection of Kevin Warsh as the next chairman of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, to succeed Jerome Powell, whose term expires in May. Warsh has experience as a Federal Reserve governor, but he turned into a leading critic of the central bank’s policies after the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent sluggish recovery. Despite Warsh’s reputation as an outsider and critic of the Fed, his selection met with some surprisingly positive responses.
“I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Kevin Warsh to be the CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM,” Trump announced on Truth Social, noting Warsh’s current positions with the Hoover Institution and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. “I have known Kevin for a long period of time, and have no doubt that he will go down as one of the GREAT Fed Chairmen, maybe the best. On top of everything else, he is ‘central casting,’ and he will never let you down.”
Warsh nearly got the job back in 2017, when he interviewed as a finalist to succeed outgoing Fed chairwoman Janet Yellen. However, Trump feared the then-47-year-old Warsh looked too youthful, according to The Wall Street Journal. Trump chose Powell instead, but he has increasingly sparred with Powell’s policies in his second term.
The decision received unqualified approval from The Wall Street Journal editors, who titled their response, “Kevin Warsh Is the Right Choice for the Fed.” The decision also reassured currency traders and helped to stabilize the U.S. dollar. Even Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who seems to be building a Trump-critical brand, called Warsh “a fantastic choice to lead the world’s most important central bank at this crucial time.”
So, what makes Warsh the “right choice” for the job? Warsh joined the Fed as the youngest-ever governor at the age of 35. His 2006-2011 overlapped with the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent Great Recession, where he had a front-row seat to the Fed’s decision-making, and he became a strident critic of its quantitative easing measures. “Mr. Warsh’s experience in a crisis will be invaluable when the next one arrives, as it inevitably will,” argued the WSJ editors.
Warsh has also criticized the Fed’s “institutional drift,” writing in April 2025 that “forays far afield — for all seasons and all reasons — have led to systemic errors in macroeconomic policy. The Fed has acted more as a general-purpose agency of government than a narrow central bank.” Warsh has long angled to return the Fed to a narrow mission of focus on monetary policy, while leaving fiscal policy to Congress.
“He is very smart — both intellectually and in his ability to read the room,” said Warsh’s former Fed colleague Donald Kohn. Kohn disagrees with many of Warsh’s positions and “especially with the caustic tone with which they have been delivered,” but reasoned that “He knows he will need to use his considerable skills to marshal evidence and analysis to support the direction he wants to take policy.” (Washington Stand) Read more here.

Shaky Deal to Fund the Government Heads to Johnson's Volatile House
|
|
|
|
Congress was close enough to passing a federal budget that leaders could smell it. But just when Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) thought he’d finally caught a break and done something historic, his work — and the House’s — has been completely upended. The instant protestor Alex Pretti was shot by ICE agents in Minneapolis last month, the dream of sending all 12 appropriations bills to the president’s desk for the first time in 29 years vanished — swallowed up by the Democrats’ decision to slam the brakes on the process and demand an overhaul of Homeland Security. Now, with as many question marks on Capitol Hill as snow piles, Americans are back on a familiar roller coaster: the government shutdown.
Pretti’s death, which everyone would agree was an unnecessary and avoidable tragedy, didn’t just spark concern from Democrats but Republicans too, who started publicly challenging the aggressive nature of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s deportation strategy. It had only been a matter of time, many agreed, until the powder keg of Minneapolis exploded. “I think both sides would have to acknowledge we should not move forward with what has been happening,” Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) conceded on Friday’s “Washington Watch.” And to his credit, the congressman pointed out, “The president has, I think, thoughtfully agreed that he needs to relook at the process.”
Sending veteran Border Czar Tom Homan to the wasps’ nest of Minnesota has reassured a lot of people that things will soon be under control. “I didn’t come to seek photo ops or headlines,” Homan insisted. “I came here to seek solutions. Nothing’s ever perfect,” he admitted. “Anything can be improved on. And what we have been working on is making this operation safer, more efficient, by the book. I’m staying,” he underscored, “until the problem is gone.”
Despite these reassurances, Democrats still insist on taking the government’s funding hostage, a strategy that has — unsurprisingly — infuriated conservatives. Johnson, who watched everything he’d worked for on appropriations implode, could only shake his head at the political hot potato that’s back in his lap. “The House did its job,” he told Family Research Council President Tony Perkins of the budget bills. “I mean, everyone is applauding. The media has written that it was unexpected. … Once again, they anticipated our downfall,” he said on Saturday’s “This Week on Capitol Hill.” “We got 12 separate appropriations bills passed through the House [for the] first time in many years. … And we did it in bipartisan fashion. That’s what it requires when we have such a small margin in our majority. We’re very proud of that accomplishment.”
The speaker paused before highlighting his very real frustrations with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), who commandeered the progress and put everything both chambers worked toward in limbo. “… Democrats, in my view, are trying to play games with this. They’re trying to tie what’s happened in Minneapolis with the appropriations process. And it’s not a credible argument. They say they want reforms in the Department of Homeland Security. Well, fine. Let’s talk about that,” Johnson offered. “But what they’re forgetting to note, the important thing, is that the funding for [ICE] has already been provided. We did a big tranche of funding in the Big Beautiful Bill last summer,” he wanted people to know. “And so, holding up the appropriation right now doesn’t even accomplish anything they say they want to achieve. It creates a very dicey situation in the House.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

Father God, we ask for Your grace to fall upon our Congress today -- both the House and the Senate -- and that You would loose your ministering angels to bring a breakthrough in these negotiations. We ask that You bless our Speaker, Mike Johnson, who is a strong Christian believer, with Your strength to see this process through. In Your Name, amen and amen.

NATIONAL GATHERING F0R PRAYER & REPENTANCE
MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE, Washington DC
Wednesday, February 4, 2026
|
|
|
In 2026, as our nation marks the 250th anniversary of America's founding, we pause not simply to celebrate history - but to seek the God who gave it purpose. From the beginning, America has understood that liberty flourishes only when grounded in faith, humility, and dependence on the Lord.
America needs God.
For that reason, we come together at the National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance to humble ourselves before Him and to repent of sin.
The National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance is not acting on behalf of any nation, America, Israel, or any other nation, nor on behalf of President Donald Trump, or any other leader, foreign or domestic. We are acting only on behalf of our Savior and Lord, Jesus, Christ, and on behalf of the Word of God. We are gathering, as our name suggests, for prayer and repentance, not for advocacy for any nation, except in prayer. We pray God’s blessings, protection and alignment with the Word of God, on all nations.

‘Melania’ Opens With Strong Weekend at Box Office
|

The first lady’s documentary grossed $7 million in its opening weekend, achieving the strongest debut for a nonfiction film in a decade.

First Lady Melania Trump’s documentary “Melania” earned more than $7 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend, beating expectations.
It’s the largest opening for a nonfiction film in the past 10 years. It surpassed Angel Studios’ 2023 release “After Death,” which opened with $5 million, and also surpassed its own $5 million forecast, according to Deadline, a Hollywood trade publication.
Amazon MGM Studios, which acquired distribution rights to the documentary, touted its opening-weekend success.
“We’re very encouraged by the strong start and positive audience response, with early box office for ‘Melania’ exceeding our expectations,” said Kevin Wilson, head of domestic theatrical distribution at Amazon MGM Studios.
“This momentum is an important first step in what we see as a long-tail lifecycle for both the film and the forthcoming docu-series, extending well beyond the theatrical window and into what we believe will be a significant run for both on our service.”
The documentary, directed and produced by Brett Ratner, opened in 1,778 North American theaters on Jan. 30.
The film follows Trump as she prepares to return to public life. It documents her experiences during the 20 days leading up to her husband’s presidential inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025.
During the premiere, Melania Trump described the movie as “beautiful” and “emotional.” “I’m very proud of the film,” she told reporters as she walked down a black carpet with her husband. “The schedule was very intense. They followed me from morning till evening.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here . . . including the President's remarks

Abba, we give You praise and glory for the "more than successful" opening of First Lady Melania's documentary about her life! Thank You that it achieved the strongest debut for a nonfiction film in a decade! Father God, we ask that You open hearts that are closed towards our First Lady through seeing the film. Allow a strong respect to grow for who she is and her abilities to not only carry out the responsibilities of First Lady, but to run her business, work with groups she supports, and to make time to implement all that was necessary for this documentary. Jesus, we thank You for Melania's faith, for her love for You, love that is seen in her actions. We ask for Your hand of blessing, protection and favor over her life as well as the President's. We ask this in the name
el Shaddai, God Almighty, the God who has ultimate power over all.
"Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you
surround them with your favor as with a shield."

Don’t Miss This Once-in-a-Decade Planet Parade Lighting Up the Sky This February, Here’s When to Look
|
|
February’s most impressive parade is celestial, rare, and completely visible, but only to those who stay up late and look up.
From a glowing Snow Moon to a rare six-planet parade, February 2026 is delivering a packed calendar of celestial events for stargazers. With strategic timing and the right optical gear, skywatchers can witness several conjunctions, occultations, and deep-sky opportunities throughout the month.
For astronomy enthusiasts and casual observers alike, February offers a mix of accessible spectacles and more technical challenges. The month begins with the luminous full moon and builds toward complex planetary gatherings and lunar pairings that unfold across the night sky. Several of these phenomena require little more than the naked eye to enjoy, while others call for telescopes or camera setups with advanced optics.
Moonlit Shows And Close Planetary Encounters
Midway through the month, on February 15, a more nuanced event occurs: a conjunction between Saturn and Neptune. This pairing is not visible to the unaided eye, particularly Neptune, which demands a telescope of at least 6 to 8 inches in aperture to discern its subtle blue tint.
Two nights later, on February 17, the new moon brings the darkest skies of the month, offering optimal conditions for deep-sky viewing. According to the same source, objects like the Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy, and even the Milky Way can be seen under low light pollution.
Two Astronomical Events One Date February 19 Has Both
One of the densest evenings in terms of celestial activity is February 19, when the crescent moon lines up with Neptune and Saturn in a tight conjunction. Observing this trio is best done shortly after sunset, around 6 to 7 PM EST. Telescopic views are required to distinguish Neptune, and larger apertures are recommended for resolving Saturn’s ring structure.
Later that same evening, Mercury enters the frame. The moon and Mercury will appear side by side low in the western sky. Due to Mercury’s greatest eastern elongation, this is also its best viewing window for the month. As noted by the same source, the 7 percent crescent moon will briefly occlude Mercury, an event known as an occultation. Binoculars with a 10x magnification should be sufficient to catch this fleeting moment. (Daily Galaxy) Read More

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
