Prayers Answered: Priest Abducted by Boko Haram Terrorists Is Released
|
|
Weeks after revealing a priest was abducted by terrorists in Nigeria, a persecution watchdog has announced a positive outcome to an ordeal many feared would come to a deadly conclusion. Joel Veldkamp, head of international communications at Christian Solidarity International (CSI), previously told CBN News the Rev. Daniel Alphonsus Afina, 41, was taken June 1, 2025, while traveling from Mubi to Maiduguri.
Veldkamp, who said the priest was a partner of CSI and was on a mission to help the persecuted at the time of his abduction, said the faith leader has been released. “On July 21st, he was set free, along with 10 women who were being held hostage by Boko Haram, this Islamist terrorist group that has been terrorizing Christians in Nigeria for a decade and a half now,” he said. “This is really a tremendous answer to our prayers, to the prayers of many of our followers and supporters around the world who’ve been praying for this man.” Veldkamp expressed gratitude for the priest’s safe return and said he is currently back at his diocese resting and recovering, though specific details have not been released. - Abba, we REJOICE for answered prayer in the miraculous release of Rev. Afina and 10 women held hostage by Boko Haram! We pray Your restoration and healing from this ordeal as they return to families. May our administration protect Christian Nigerians by bringing accountability and placing the country of Nigeria on a watchlist over concerns for religious liberty. Keep each persecuted believer underneath the shadow of Your Wings. We declare in Jesus Name, the Gospel will spread across Africa and every nation, with Christian's standing in boldness and abounding in miracles as during the Book of Acts! All Glory to You, Lord! In the powerful Name of Yeshua, we pray-Amen and Amen.
- "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

HHS Overhauls Organ Donation System after Review Finds ‘Systemic Disregard for Sanctity of Life’
|
|
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched “a major initiative to begin reforming the organ transplant system,” it announced Monday. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. explained, “Our findings show that hospitals allowed the organ procurement process to begin when patients showed signs of life, and this is horrifying. … The entire system must be fixed to ensure that every potential donor’s life is treated with the sanctity it deserves.”
Anthony Thomas Hoover
According to a partially redacted, eight-page report dated May 28, 2025, HHS received “an allegation of potentially preventable harm to a neurologically injured patient.” This prompted the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the subdepartment of HHS that oversees the organ donation system, to launch an investigation after HRSA Administrator Thomas Engels assumed his post in February.
The New York Times identified that victim as Anthony Thomas Hoover II, then 33 years old, who was hospitalized with a drug overdose in 2021. Hours after a doctor had declared him brain-dead, Hoover awakened to find medical staff preparing to remove his organs. “Even though the man cried, pulled his legs to his chest and shook his head, officials still tried to move forward.” Hospital staff ultimately became “uncomfortable with the amount of reflexes” Hoover showed, and a doctor ultimately refused to remove him from life-support. The man ultimately survived.

Trump says SCOTUS immunity ruling likely helps Obama in light of Gabbard, DNI findings
|
|
President Donald Trump said Friday that former President Barack Obama "owes me big" following the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity ruling.
Trump on Tuesday claimed that Obama was the "ringleader" of Russiagate, calling for him to be criminally investigated amid new claims that members of his administration allegedly "manufactured" intelligence that prompted the Trump–Russia collusion narrative. Obama has denied the allegations, with a spokesperson for him describing them as "bizarre."
"It probably helps him a lot. Probably helps a lot. The immunity ruling, but it doesn't help the people around him at all. But it probably helps him a lot," Trump said Friday. "He's done criminal acts, there’s no question about it. But he has immunity, and it probably helps him a lot... he owes me big, Obama owes me big."
The intelligence community did not have any direct information that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to help elect Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election, but, at the "unusual" direction of then-President Barack Obama, published "potentially biased" or "implausible" intelligence suggesting otherwise, the House Intelligence Committee found, according to a Fox News report earlier this week. Michigan Law Calls for ICE Officers to Be Jailed for Wearing Masks
|
|
Michigan has joined four other states who have introduced legislation to ban Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from wearing masks, with the Wolverine state calling for jail time for violators.
Democrats in California, New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania also have introduced similar bills as part of an attempt by those lawmakers to “increase transparency and limit the agency’s expanded powers” under President Donald Trump, Newsweek reported this week.
As Breitbart News has reported, federal authorities say ICE officers have been wearing plain clothes and using masks during raids to hinder their identification they or their families won’t be targeted off the job by open border advocates.
Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Alex Padilla (D-CA) and Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) also introduced a bill at the federal level banning the practice. (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Lord, we pray that this foolish attempt to place ICE agents in harm’s way will fail. We ask that all who do enforcement to protect Americans will look to You for help and protection.
- “The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial. Wait for the Lord and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.” (Psalm 37: 32-34)

GOP Rep. Sessions: Trump Not As Implicated in Epstein Files as Some ‘Want Him to Be’
|
|
On Friday, during an appearance on CNN’s “News Central,” Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) stated that President Donald Trump is not “as implicated” in the Jeffrey Epstein files as his critics “want him to be.”
Co-host John Berman said, “Is it a hoax? because the president has called it a Democratic hoax?”
Sessions said, “Well, let me just say this, I don’t think the president is is as implicated as some would want him to be. This has resided during the entire Obama administration, during the entire Biden administration, if there was there there, it’s something would have happened. I think that what we’re trying to do is to protect our someone, is someone or a group of people who are very powerful, who do not want to be outed. And I think that this is a review that the Attorney General Bondi, should probably understand.”
He added, “I don’t think this about Donald Trump. I think it is about a group of people who colluded together with either money, we need to know, were they paying Jeffrey Epstein money to do these? Who gave him the loans to buy the island? What was he paid? Where did that money come from? This is child exploitation in a graphically huge way and the American people and Republicans want this evidence.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

|
- Lord, we pray Your truth over this attempt to smear our President. If there had been any criminal wrongdoing on his part with minors, it would have been released previously.
- “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

1. Israel’s defense minister warns Ayatollah Khamenei he’s next - JNS
Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened to target Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, speaking while visiting the Ramon Air Force Base in the Negev desert with Prime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the commander of the Israel Air Force, Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar, on Sunday.
“I want to send a clear message to the dictator Khamenei: If you continue to threaten Israel, our long hand will reach Tehran again and with even greater powers, and this time to you personally. Don’t threaten lest you get hurt,” Katz said.
Katz thanked the Air Force personnel at the base for their work during “Operation Rising Lion,” the 12-day mission to destroy Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile facilities last month.
“You opened the skies to Tehran and repeatedly hit the head of the Iranian octopus and removed annihilationist threats against the State of Israel,” he said. (Read more)

2. Australian PM: Israel has ‘quite clearly’ breached international law in Gaza - Times of Israel
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said in an interview aired Sunday that Israel has “quite clearly” breached international law during the war in Gaza. While he supports a two-state solution, he also said, his country does not plan to “imminently” recognize a Palestinian state.
In an interview with public broadcaster ABC, Albanese said the news that Israel announced it was allowing and conducting airdrops of aid into Gaza is “a start,” but more must be done to protect Palestinian civilians.
Israel also announced that it will enact daily 10-hour “humanitarian pauses” of fighting in Gaza to facilitate aid entry and distribution, after facing major international pressure, due to mounting reports of starvation in the enclave. (Read more)

3. Israel Announces Daily Pauses in Gaza Fighting as Aid Airdrops Begin
- Algemeiner
Israel on Sunday announced a halt in military operations for 10 hours a day in parts of Gaza and new aid corridors as Jordan and the United Arab Emirates airdropped supplies into the enclave, where images of starving Palestinians have alarmed the world.
Israel has been facing growing international criticism, which the government rejects, over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and indirect ceasefire talks in Doha between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas have broken off with no deal in sight.
US President Donald Trump, on a visit to Scotland, said Israel would have to make a decision on its next steps in Gaza, and he did not know what would happen after the collapse of ceasefire and hostage-release negotiations with Hamas.
Military activity will stop from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (0700-1700 GMT) until further notice in Al-Mawasi, a designated humanitarian area along the coast, in central Deir al-Balah and in Gaza City, to the north. (Read more)

4. UK, Germany, Italy and Australia reject Macron’s Palestinian state plan - JNS
The governments of the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Australia announced over the weekend that they are not planning on backing France’s initiative to recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations in September.
While London backs the move in principle, it “must be part of a wider plan, which ultimately results in a two-state solution and lasting security for Palestinians and Israelis,” U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a video statement he posted to social media on Friday evening.
According to the British leader, this will “ensure that recognition is a tool of maximum impact, to improve the lives of those who are suffering, and that must always be our ultimate goal.” (Read more)

5. French dep amb summoned for reprimand after Palestine recognition
- Israel National News
Under the directive of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, French deputy ambassador to Israel Mikaël Griffon was summoned from the French embassy this evening (Sunday) for a reprimand meeting with Foreign Ministry Director-General Eden Bar-Tal.
During the meeting, Bar-Tal stated: "France has chosen to harm Israel in its most difficult hour, directly undermining the negotiations for the return of the hostages and for a ceasefire, and harming any future negotiations."
"France’s statements determining what is right for Israel’s security instead of the elected government of Israel are baseless pretensions that infringe upon Israel’s sovereignty. The conditions set by the French President for recognizing a Palestinian state have evaporated within weeks, and relying on Mahmoud Abbas’s letter is sheer hypocrisy," Bar-Tal said. (Read more)

1. USA Volleyball complies with Trump's executive order, bans trans athletes from girls' and women's competition- Fox Sports
USA Volleyball (USAV) has become the latest organization to change its gender eligibility policy to align itself with President Donald Trump's executive order aimed at barring transgender athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports.
The latest policy change, which takes effect immediately, states that all members of USAV "are expected to participate or compete in all USAV-sanctioned events or activities as a member of the gender assigned at the time of birth on their birth certificate."
The change effectively bans transgender athletes from competition as a response to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), which quietly updated its guidance on Monday to require that all national sports governing bodies comply with the president’s executive order.
"As a federally chartered organization, we have an obligation to comply with federal expectations," USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland and President Gene Sykes wrote in a letter. "Our revised policy emphasizes the importance of ensuring fair and safe competition environments for women. All National Governing Bodies are required to update their applicable policies in alignment." (Read more)

2. As Missouri Sues Planned Parenthood over Abortion Pill, Experts Urge Trump to Protect Women – The Washington Stand
The state of Missouri has filed a lawsuit against the nation’s foremost supplier of abortion, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, for misleading women about the safety of the abortion drug mifepristone, including claiming that it is “safer than Tylenol.” Experts are applauding the move and also urging more to be done at the federal level to restrict the drug on account of its documented dangers.
In an announcement Wednesday, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R) remarked that the state is suing the abortion giant for violating the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, which prohibits deceptive advertising for consumer goods. “The facts are clear: more than 4.5 percent of women who take this dangerous drug end up in the emergency room, yet Planned Parenthood compares it to Tylenol,” he stated. “This is a blatant violation of Missouri law, and I will not allow a death factory to lie to Missouri women in pursuit of its radical agenda.”
Studies show that at least 4.5% of women who take mifepristone experience serious adverse effects, with at least one study showing that the abortion drug causes severe health complications in 11% of women who ingest it.
Still, on a webpage entitled, “How safe is the abortion pill?” Planned Parenthood states, “Medication abortion is very safe. In fact, it’s safer than many other medicines like penicillin, Tylenol, and Viagra. Serious problems are rare, but like all medicines, there can be risks.” (Read more)

- Lord, the shedding of innocent blood is an abomination to You and a great cause of grief to us. It doesn’t matter whether a pill does it or a medical procedure, the deaths of so many babies are often of pure selfishness, which is a horrific stain on America. We ask that all abortion clinics be shut down and only true medicine be practiced for women.
- “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,” (Proverbs 6: 16-17)

3. Trump Blames Hamas for Ceasefire Collapse, Says Terror Group ‘Wants To Die’ – Daily Wire
President Donald Trump blamed Hamas for the collapse of the ceasefire and hostage negotiations between the United States, Israel, and Hamas on Friday, claiming that the terror group “wants to die.”
“They pulled out in terms of negotiation,” Trump said. “It was too bad. Hamas didn’t really want to make a deal. I think they want to die and it’s very, very bad. It got to be to a point where you’re going to finish the job.”
Trump added that Hamas did not want to make a deal because they are down to the final 50 hostages and “they know what happens after you get the final hostages.”
“So they pulled out and they’re going to have to fight and they’re going to have to clean it up,” the president said.
Special Envoy for Peace Missions Steve Witkoff announced on Thursday that the talks for a deal fell through because Hamas was not acting “in good faith.” (Read more)

4. Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Forces 5 Planned Parenthood Clinics to Close in NorCal - Breitbart
Five Planned Parenthood facilities are being forced to close in Northern California as a result of President Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” which prevents state Medicaid programs from funding groups that also provide abortion services.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday:
“President Donald Trump’s budget cuts to Medicaid have forced Planned Parenthood Mar Monte to shutter five clinics across Northern California and the Central Coast, including one in South San Francisco, the group said Thursday.
The GOP-led federal spending bill that Trump signed into law earlier this month eliminated federal Medicaid funding for any type of medical care to organizations that perform abortions.
The closures represent the first wave of how the recent federal budget cuts will have real-life consequences for health clinics across the country — particularly for low-income Americans. They are also a crushing blow to a state that set it up to be an abortion haven after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. In the year after the decision, political leaders in California — led by Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Democratic-controlled Legislature — passed more than a dozen new laws and invested more than $200 million to increase access across the state. Thursday’s announcement drives home the extent of the federal government’s tremendous power to impact abortion access.”
Federal funding has, until now, continued to flow to Planned Parenthood, despite the Hyde Amendment’s ban on federal funding of abortion, because of the other services Planned Parenthood says that is provides. (Read more)

- Lord, we bind lies that emanate from Planned Parenthood and pray for You to reveal all that they have tried to do. We have seen egregious things from them over the last decade, yet many have ignored the truth. We ask for a reckoning, and accountability for all that has transpired.

5. Federal appeals court rules California ammunition background checks unconstitutional - Fox News
A federal appeals court ruled Thursday that California's first-of-its-kind law requiring gun owners to undergo background checks to purchase ammunition is unconstitutional, declaring that it violates the Second Amendment right to bear arms.
In a 2-1 decision, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court judge's permanent injunction blocking the state from enforcing the law.
Circuit Judge Sandra Ikuta said the law "meaningfully constrains" the right to keep and bear arms and that the state failed to prove the law was consistent with the country's historical tradition of firearm regulation as required under a 2022 U.S. Supreme Court decision, New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen.
"By subjecting Californians to background checks for all ammunition purchases, California’s ammunition background check regime infringes on the fundamental right to keep and bear arms," Ikuta wrote. (Read more)

EXCLUSIVE: Karen Bass Raked In Cash From Chinese Intel-Tied Bankers Before Hiring Them
|
|
|
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ transition advisory team enlisted two Chinese intelligence-tied bankers who have fundraised for her and a nonprofit she helps lead, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation discovered.
Bass appointed Dominic Ng, CEO of East West Bank, and Simon Pang, co-founder of Royal Business Bank, to her mayoral transition advisory team in December 2022, according to the City of Los Angeles. In total, Ng, East West Bank and Pang have donated upwards of $1 million to Bass’ mayoral campaign and the Mayor’s Fund For Los Angeles, where Bass serves as an advisor to the board of directors, according to the nonprofit.
While it is unclear what Ng and Pang did while serving on Bass’ mayoral transition advisory team, both have extensive ties to the Chinese government and have also been listed as holding positions within arms of a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence and intelligence service called the United Front Work Department (UFWD).
Bass’ office did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Pang could not be reached for comment. A Royal Business Bank spokesperson declined to comment. (Fox News) Read more here.

Trump Proposes Rebates for US Taxpayers From Tariff Revenues
|
|
|
President Donald Trump floated the idea of sending U.S. taxpayers rebate checks from tariff income collected this year.
Trump, speaking to reporters on July 25 before departing for Scotland, said the White House is thinking about issuing rebates to individuals in certain income levels.
“We have so much money coming in, we’re thinking about a little rebate,” the president said.
While the primary objective is to pay down the national debt, he believes there may be sufficient funds to provide rebates to U.S. taxpayers.
“We’re thinking about a rebate because we have so much money coming in from tariffs that a little rebate for people of a certain income level might be very nice,” Trump said.
He stopped short of offering a dollar figure or specifying who would be eligible. (Read more here)

Here’s How the 2026 Senate Races Are Shaping Up in 3 Pivotal States
|
|
|
Voters won’t be heading to the general election polls for the 2026 Senate races for another year and a half, but the elections are already taking shape.
Over the past week, the candidate pool in Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina—states that will determine the Senate’s balance of power during President Donald Trump’s final act—has shrunk dramatically.
Here’s where these contentious 2026 races stand.

America and Israel Pull Out of Hamas Negotiations
|
|
|
The United States has withdrawn its delegation from Doha, where it was participating in ceasefire negotiations this week, according to United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
The announcement came the same day Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office also announced that its negotiators in Doha would also be leaving in light of the response from Hamas. Witkoff also met with Israeli and Qatari officials in Rome Thursday, according to reports.
“We have decided to bring our team home from Doha for consultations after the latest response from Hamas, which clearly shows a lack of desire to reach a ceasefire in Gaza,” Witkoff said in a statement Thursday.
Witkoff asserted that Hamas “does not appear to be … acting in good faith,” adding that the U.S. would now “consider alternative options” to rescue hostages and bring an end to the conflict.
While this is big news, it isn’t necessarily surprising. We’ve seen Hamas back out of and break ceasefire agreements time and time again since October 7. This incident is only the latest example.
According to Fox, the breakdown occurred when Hamas demanded the “release of 200 Palestinians serving life sentences for murdering Israelis and an additional 2,000 Palestinians detained in Gaza after Oct. 7.” That demand significantly exceeded what was laid out in the Israeli-accepted framework, which included the release of only “125 life-term prisoners and 1,200 other detainees.”
(Fox News and Intercessors for America) Read more here.
|
|
- In some ways, this breakdown is an answer to our prayers. We prayed for Steve Witkoff specifically to make Israel his priority, and this decision shows his and America’s commitment to God’s nation. On the other hand, the breakdown of negotiations is yet another roadblock on the path to peace.
Let’s continue to pray for the Middle East. Let’s pray that America would remain a strong ally to Israel, and that God’s nation would be victorious in its battle against terror!
(Prayer offered by IFA.)

Volcanoes in multiple states have been rumbling. What's going on?
|
|
Volcanoes in Alaska, Washington state, Oregon and Hawaii have been rumbling and even spewing lava, enough to spark a swarm of news stories. But despite the jolts and temblors, geologists say there's no cause for alarm.
"Volcanoes can be unpredictable, and there’s always the chance that something bad will happen, but these recent seismic events along the Pacific Ring of Fire from Alaska to Washington to offshore Oregon are probably not directly related to each other," said Natalia Ruppert, a seismologist with the U.S. Geological Survey's Earthquake Science Center in Seattle.
"This is what volcanoes do," she said. "They come to life for a while; sometimes the earthquake activity leads to an eruption and sometimes it doesn't."
Most of the U.S. volcanoes that have been making themselves known since spring woke up, shook themselves off and then fell back into slumber.
Two, one in Hawaii and one in Alaska, are in the midst of active – but relatively small and nonthreatening – eruptions.
Though it all might seem ominous, it isn't. It's simply part of life on a dynamic, seismically active planet.
There's no direct connection between any of these, Ruppert said. "The distance between these (seismic) activity centers is thousands of miles." Read More
