“Ode Yoter Tov” More, More Good—Shabbat Shalom

There’s a song in Israel right now that’s quite popular, sung by a young Israeli named Sasson Shaulov. The song has become an unofficial anthem during this time of war. The song speaks of God’s favor and blessing.
Let the light shine on us, let faith shine;
True wisdom, and knowledge, and understanding;
Come already our Messiah and without any war.
The chorus is simply, “It will be for me more, more good.” The words ode and yoter both mean “more.” In English, we would say, “even better.” It’s a Job-like confession, that despite everything we’re going through, the future is bright—God will make it better. Why am I telling you this? I just saw a clip below that I will share with you that just crushed me. I’m crying even as I write this.
I don’t know who the man is playing the piano. But it is obvious that he is the owner of the home. Their home was destroyed and their souls were traumatized, but he walks over to his piano and begins to play this song, “Ode yoter tov, Ode yoter tov, Ode yoter tov, Ode yoter tov,” as the chorus of the song continues with simply those words proclaiming that it will be even better in the future. Trump addresses nation on 'spectacular military success' of US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities
|
|
President Donald Trump addressed the nation just after 10 p.m. Eastern Time following the U.S. military's successful strikes on a trio of Iranian nuclear facilities.
"A short time ago, the U.S. military carried out massive precision strikes on the three key nuclear facilities in the Iranian regime: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan," he said. "Everybody heard those names for years as they built this horribly destructive enterprise. Our objective was the destruction of Iran's nuclear enrichment capacity, and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world's number one state sponsor of terror. Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success."
"For 40 years, Iran has been saying, ‘Death to America. Death to Israel.’ They have been killing our people, blowing off their arms, blowing off their legs with roadside bombs," Trump continued. "That was their specialty. We lost over a thousand people, and hundreds of thousands throughout the Middle East and around the world have died as a direct result of their hate in particular."
Trump reported that Iran’s nuclear facilities had been "obliterated" and that the country has been backed into a corner and "must now make peace."
"Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated," Trump said. "And Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not. future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier." (Fox News) Read more here.

US and Israeli sources confirm China is airlifting military aid to Iran
|
|
China is reportedly stepping up its military support for the Iranian regime, according to multiple sources, including one American source close to JFeed, as well as Israeli media outlets such as Arab World News 301.
Reports indicate that just last night, three Chinese military transport aircraft landed in Iran.
This development comes alongside continued Russian assistance at the Bushehr nuclear facility and adds to China’s ongoing supply of advanced dual-use fuels and technologies in recent months.
Materials believed to be critical to Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear development programs.
China and Iran are bound by a long-term strategic partnership, anchored in a 25-year investment agreement signed in recent years, valued at approximately $400 billion. (World Israel News) Read more here.

Sleeper Cells Becoming Major Concern as Conflict with Iran Looms
|
|
With the Israeli military engaged in a long-range war with Iran, and President Donald Trump weighing whether to commit U.S. forces to a more active role against the terrorist regime in Tehran, the Trump administration is also looking closely for dangers much closer to home.
The FBI under Director Kash Patel is increasingly vigilant against the possibility that sleeper cells -- operatives who remain quiet in a target country until ordered into activity -- will engage in attacks within the United States, CBS News reported Thursday.
It could be the badly wounded Islamic Republic's last throw of the dice, an analyst who specializes in Iran told reporters.
“The very fact now that the Iranian regime is volatile, it’s targeted, and it’s highly vulnerable — that’s what actually makes it increasingly dangerous to the West, in that it has nothing to lose it has this about this sense of nihilism, and it affects the rational calculus,” Barak Seener, research fellow with the conservative, U.K.-based Henry Jackson Society, told reporters during a conference call Wednesday, according to the New York Post.
The FBI is focusing on sleeper cells linked to Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed terror outfit, according to CBS.
Hezbollah has been a target of Israeli intelligence -- including last fall's spectacular pager bombing operation -- but it has sleeper cells in the West, retired Army Lt. Col. Mike Nelson told NewsNation in a report published Friday. (Western Journal) Read more here.

Israel Cracks Down on Foreign Media Outlets with New 'Zero Tolerance' Censorship Policy

|
Israel is placing strict limits on video that news organizations can take at the scene of Iranian missile attacks.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi announced the policy, which requires prior approval from “the Israel Police, the Government Press Office (GPO), and the military [Israel Defense Forces] censor,” according to the Jerusalem Post.
“In accordance with new zero-tolerance enforcement measures led by the national security minister and the police commissioner, any transmission — live or recorded — from areas under missile fire must receive explicit clearance from the IDF censor,” GPO Director Nitzan Chen said.
The new policy was enacted after missile attacks in Beersheba, Holon, and Ramat Gan.
In those incidents, footage was appearing on Al Jazeera. The Jerusalem Post report said CNN and The New York Times were targeted by the new rule in addition to Al Jazeera. (Western Journal) Read more here.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday morning praised U.S. President Donald Trump for ordering American military strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
“President Trump and I often say: ‘Peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then comes peace,” said Netanyahu.
“Tonight, President Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength,” he added.
Earlier, Trump had announced a “successful” U.S. strike on three Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. (Read more)

2. IAF overnight strikes hit Isfahan nuclear site, missile launchers - Times of Israel
The Israeli Air Force carried out a large wave of strikes on dozens of targets in Iran overnight, including the Isfahan nuclear facility and four primed missile launchers, the military says.
Some 50 IAF fighter jets were involved in the strikes, dropping 150 munitions.
The IDF says the strikes at the Isfahan nuclear site, which had been targeted by Israel on the first day of the conflict, were intended to cause further damage to Iran’s nuclear program.
“Within the compound, a centrifuge production facility was also targeted, along with additional military targets of the Iranian regime in the Isfahan area,” the IDF says.

3. 86 wounded by Iranian missile attacks on Israel after US strikes 3 Iran nuclear sites - Times of Israel
An Iranian ballistic missile barrage injured dozens of people in Israel on Sunday morning as nearly 30 projectiles targeted the country, causing widespread destruction to residential areas in Tel Aviv and the central town of Ness Ziona.
An air defense interceptor, meanwhile, malfunctioned and impacted the northern city of Haifa, causing damage and slightly wounding three people. No sirens had sounded in the city during the incident.
The Health Ministry reported that among those who arrived at hospitals were two in moderate condition, 77 in good condition, four victims suffering from acute anxiety, and three more people who were undergoing medical evaluation and whose condition had not been immediately determined. (Read more)

4. Israeli jets destroy Iranian strategic missile command center - World Israel News
Israeli fighter jets struck dozens of military targets throughout Iran, the Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday, including a strategic missile command center and a UAV command center.
Air Force fighter jets struck the “Imam Hussein” Strategic Missile Command Center in the Yazd area of central Iran, where long-range Khorramshahr ballistic missiles were stored.
The warheads can carry around 1,800 kilograms of explosive,s and approximately 60 missiles have been launched from this command center at Israel.
In parallel, missile launchers were struck in Isfahan, Bushehr, and Ahvaz. Strikes were also conducted on military sites involved in the production of aerial defense batteries, the ‘Third Brigade’ UAV command center, and a UAV storage facility near the command center. (Read more)

Former Mossad Director Yossi Cohen estimated in an interview on Sunday with Channel 12 that the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities "totally halted the nuclear program."
"Over the years, we significantly delayed the nuclear program. They didn't get there because of actions we took. At this stage, at least three components have met - one, the extraordinary readiness of the IDF, which was equipped with additional capabilities. The second is the intelligence and the International Atomic Energy Commission, which clearly stated that Iran is avoiding supervision. The third, a different president in the White House, more seasoned, experienced, and determined, who gives extraordinary backing to the Prime Minister, and thankfully so," Cohen stated.
In Cohen's opinion, the next step must be a regime change in Iran. "We wasted many years when we could have attacked. The Biden administration didn't go in that direction. I recommend that the Prime Minister seize the opportunity and cause the Iranian regime to fall. I don't rule out the elimination of Khamenei." (Read more)

1. FDA halts Biden-era program of sending Americans’ DNA to China for genetic engineering- Washington Times
The Trump administration is halting companies from conducting clinical trials in China using Americans’ DNA samples in a program authorized by the Biden administration, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA said an immediate review has begun on new clinical trials that involve sending living cells of U.S. citizens to China and other hostile states for “genetic engineering and subsequent infusion back into U.S. patients — sometimes without their knowledge or consent.”
The agency moved to halt the program based on what it said is mounting evidence that some of the trials were conducted without informing people involved that their biological material was being transferred and manipulated. The activity “may have exposed Americans’ sensitive genetic data to misuse by foreign governments including adversaries,” the FDA said in a statement Wednesday.
FDA Commissioner Marty Makary said the unacknowledged transfer of DNA samples has raised questions about the integrity of U.S. biomedical research. “We are taking action to protect patients, restore public trust and safeguard U.S. biomedical leadership,” Dr. Makary said. “The previous administration turned a blind eye and allowed American DNA to be sent abroad — often without the knowledge or understanding of trial participants,” he said.
The FDA said the suspect transfer of Americans’ biomedical samples was the result of a December 2024 policy by the Biden administration that was put in place by the Justice Department in April. (Read more)

2. Four plead guilty in massive bribery scheme at agency Democrats fought to protect from DOGE - Fox News
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), an agency essentially dismantled by DOGE amid complaints from Democrats that cutting waste would harm impoverished countries, is at the center of a massive bribery scandal.
A federal contracting officer and three businessmen have pleaded guilty in a scheme involving bribes like cash, NBA tickets, and a country club wedding in a scandal the Department of Justice (DOJ) said was part of a $550 million scam, Fox News Chief Washington Correspondent Mike Emanuel reported Friday.
Roderick Watson, 57, worked as a USAID contracting officer, according to a DOJ press release, and pleaded guilty to "bribery of a public official."
"During the scheme, Britt and Barnes paid bribes to Watson that were often concealed by passing them through Young, who was the president of another subcontractor to Apprio and Vistant," the press release explained.
"Britt and Barnes also regularly funneled bribes to Watson, including cash, laptops, thousands of dollars in tickets to a suite at an NBA game, a country club wedding, downpayments on two residential mortgages, cellular phones, and jobs for relatives. The bribes were also often concealed through electronic bank transfers falsely listing Watson on payroll, incorporated shell companies, and false invoices. Watson is alleged to have received bribes valued at more than approximately $1 million as part of the scheme."

3: Cuba Threatens to Expel American Diplomat for Hanging Out with Locals- Breitbart
Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío on Wednesday said that the communist regime has not ruled out expelling the head of the U.S. embassy in Havana, Mike Hammer, who they recently accused of being a “subversive agent.”
Fernández de Cossío spoke with EFE on the subject of U.S.-Cuba relations following the return of President Donald Trump to the White House, particularly the actions President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have taken against the ruling communists. The Trump administration has, among other actions, reintroduced Cuba to the U.S. list of States Sponsor of Terrorism (SST), cracked down on the Castro regime’s slave doctor program, and imposed specific travel restrictions on Cuban nationals. The Cuban official stressed to EFE that “any alternative” to the current scenario would apparently be “better.”
“With regards to the diplomat [Hammer], we are not going to rule out any action insofar as we think that what he is doing is dangerous, if we come to that conclusion — which we have not — and insofar as we pay close attention to what he is doing,” Fernández de Cossío said.
Hammer, who in the past has served as U.S. ambassador to other countries such as Chile and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is presently leading the U.S. embassy in Havana as its chargé d’affaires since November 2024. The U.S. has not appointed a new ambassador to Cuba in over six decades after the Castro regime forcefully took control of the island.
In recent weeks the Castro regime accused Hammer of being a “subversive agent” of the United States and engaging in purported “meddling and unfriendly conduct” after the diplomat, who speaks Spanish fluently, began traveling around Cuba to meet with local communities, dissidents, and families of the regime’s political prisoners. 4: Supreme Court Allows Victims of Terrorist Attacks Overseas to Sue in US Courts – The Epoch Times
The U.S. Supreme Court on June 20 unanimously upheld a law that empowers Americans harmed by terrorist attacks abroad to sue in U.S. courts.
The opinion in the 9–0 decision was written by Chief Justice John Roberts.
The decision reverses a federal appeals court that found U.S. courts lacked authority to hear cases based on terrorist attacks taking place outside the country.
The case is actually two cases—Fuld v. Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and United States v. PLO—that were heard together.
The legal issue is whether the extraterritoriality provisions of the federal Promoting Security and Justice for Victims of Terrorism (PSJVTA) Act are consistent with the due process clause of the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, according to the petition filed on July 3, 2024.
In 2019, the PSJVTA amended the federal Anti-Terrorism Act, which had created a right for victims of terror attacks committed against Americans outside the United States to sue in U.S. courts. (Read more)

5: Massive identity theft scheme led by illegal immigrants uncovered after raid at meatpacking plant - Fox
ICE has uncovered a massive identity theft scheme led by illegal immigrants and possibly tied to organized criminal networks following a workplace raid at a meatpacking plant in Omaha.
According to an ICE statement, approximately 70 illegal aliens working at the plant were discovered to be using stolen Social Security numbers and identities to unlawfully obtain employment authorization, wages and benefits at the expense of over 100 victims. The statement said that the victims have faced "devastating financial, emotional and legal consequences" as a result of the identity theft.
Working with other federal and state partners, ICE agents conducted a major workplace raid at Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha on June 10. The raid resulted in over 70 illegal immigrants being arrested, which sparked protests both in the community and across the country.
While the arrests have sparked outrage from some in both the local community and nationally, ICE said the illegals’ identity theft proves they were not innocent, hardworking members of society, as some have suggested. (Read more)

6. Trump scores major win against Newsom in battle for National Guard control - Fox
In a unanimous ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday, President Donald Trump was allowed to keep control of National Guard troops deployed to Los Angeles. The ruling stays the lower court order that ordered command of the troops back to California Governor Gavin Newsom.
A president hasn't made a decision about the deployment of a National Guard without the permission of the state's governor since 1965.
In the filing, the court stated that they believed the president had made a lawful decision. "Affording the President that deference, we conclude that it is likely that the President lawfully exercised his statutory authority under § 12406(3), which authorizes federalization of the National Guard when the President is unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States," the court stated.
The court also stated they disagreed with Newsom’s argument that the president’s decision to federalize members of the California National Guard under 10 U.S.C. § 12406 is completely insulated from judicial review. (Read more)

7. Louisiana's 10 Commandments Law Ruled Unconstitutional – Newsmax
A panel of three federal appellate judges has ruled that a Louisiana law requiring the Ten Commandments to be posted in each of the state’s public school classrooms is unconstitutional.
The ruling Friday marked a major win for civil liberties groups who say the mandate violates the separation of church and state, and that the poster-sized displays would isolate students — especially those who are not Christian.
The mandate has been touted by Republicans, including President Donald Trump, and marks one of the latest pushes by conservatives to incorporate religion into classrooms. Backers of the law argue the Ten Commandments belong in classrooms because they are historical and part of the foundation of U.S. law.
The plaintiffs’ attorneys and Louisiana disagreed on whether the appeals court’s decision applied to every public school district in the state or only the districts party to the lawsuit.
“All school districts in the state are bound to comply with the U.S. Constitution,” said Liz Hayes, a spokesperson for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which served as co-counsel for the plaintiffs.
The appeals court's rulings “interpret the law for all of Louisiana,” Hayes added. "Thus, all school districts must abide by this decision and should not post the Ten Commandments in their classrooms.” (Newsmax) Read more here.

|
The Supreme Court on Friday declined to fast-track a legal challenge to President Donald Trump's tariffs, rejecting a motion to expedite the case and delaying consideration despite a push from affected companies.
Trump announced a slate of tariffs in April as part of "Liberation Day," which the president promised would reshape the global trade to be more favorable to the United States. The tariffs hit almost every U.S. trading partner and prompted global market turmoil.
Trump ultimately backtracked on his initial announcement after saying many of those countries impacted by the tariffs reached out to negotiate. The U.S. tariff policy has continued to evolve over the following two months.
The U.S. Court of International Trade then blocked Trump's tariffs, which was in turn stayed by a federal appeals court, which allowed the tariffs to remain in place while legal proceedings play out. (MSN.com) Read more here.

At UN Security Council, Israel’s ambassador slams Iranian hypocrisy

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon, slammed Iran’s UN representative as "a wolf disguised as a diplomat," during a fiery session of the Security Council on Saturday, hours before the US struck three nuclear sites in Iran.
Following the US strike on nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, which President Donald Trump said had been "totally obliterated," Iran’s Ambassador to the UN Amir Saeid Iravani demanded another "emergency meeting" of the Security Council calling for condemnation "in the strongest possible terms" of the US actions and for it not to go "unpunished."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran urgently requests the Security Council to convene an emergency meeting without delay to address this blatant and unlawful act of aggression," Iravani wrote in a letter to UN Secretary General António Guterres.
Iravani called the US strikes "premeditated, and unprovoked," and said it was a "flagrant violation of international law."

Russia condemns US strikes, warns other nations may supply Iran with nukes

Russia on Sunday condemned American airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, calling the attacks “irresponsible” and a “gross violation of international law,” while Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to meet with Iran’s top diplomat.
On Sunday morning, hours after seven American B-2 Spirit stealth bombers struck three Iranian nuclear facilities overnight, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which it “strongly condemned” the attacks, which the U.S. dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer.
“It is already clear that a dangerous escalation has begun, fraught with further undermining of regional and global security,” Moscow said.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to travel to Moscow to meet with Putin following the attacks, after he appeared to rule out further negotiations with the U.S. or Europe on Iran’s nuclear program.
“Last week, we were in negotiations with the US when Israel decided to blow up that diplomacy,” Araghchi tweeted Sunday.
“This week, we held talks with the E3/EU when the US decided to blow up that diplomacy. What conclusion would you draw? To Britain and the EU High Rep, it is Iran which must ‘return’ to the table. But how can Iran return to something it never left, let alone blew up?”
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council who served as Russia’s president from 2008 to 2012, said that the U.S. airstrikes would not prevent Iran from pursuing uranium enrichment, and could in fact lead other countries to supply Tehran with nuclear warheads.
“What have the Americans accomplished with their nighttime strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran?” Medvedev tweeted.

New satellite images of Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility reveal the aftermath of a massive bomb strike that the U.S. military launched as part of its Operation Midnight Hammer.
The U.S. launched a surprise strike using B-2 stealth bombers on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities on Saturday.
"All three sites sustained extremely severe damage and destruction," Joint Chiefs Chairman Air Force Gen. Dan Caine said during a briefing at the Pentagon on Sunday morning. He added that the full extent of the battle damage to the facilities would take time to assess.
Fordow, Iran's underground nuclear enrichment site, was pictured in satellite images showing from a bird's-eye view that the strike had obliterated some structures at the site.
Fordow is built into the side of a mountain near the city of Qom, about 60 miles southwest of Tehran.
The International Atomic Energy Agency said off-site radiation levels have not increased following the strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran.
"Following attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran - including Fordow - the IAEA can confirm that no increase in off-site radiation levels has been reported as of this time," the IAEA wrote in a post on X Sunday morning.
Caine detailed how Operation Midnight Hammer was the "largest B-2 operational strike in US history."
The operation employed advanced deception tactics and used more than 125 aircraft to carry out the success of the mission, including seven B-2 stealth bombers, multiple fourth and fifth generation fighters, dozens of air refueling tankers, a guided missile submarine and "a full array" of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft, Caine said.
U.S. forces launched approximately 75 precision-guided munitions, according to Caine, including 14 30,000-pound GBU 57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, the first operational use of this weapon. (Fox News) Read more here.

Erick, the strongest hurricane to hit Mexico so early in the year, triggers deadly flooding

(CNN) — Hurricane Erick slammed into Mexico’s Oaxaca state as a dangerous Category 3 storm Thursday morning, unleashing powerful winds at the coast and heavy rains that have caused deadly flooding in the region.
The hurricane made landfall about 20 miles east of Punta Maldonado, Mexico, just after 6 a.m. CDT Thursday, according to NOAA’s National Hurricane Center. Winds of 125 mph were roaring around its center at landfall.
The storm came ashore about 100 miles east of Acapulco, the city devastated by Hurricane Otis in October 2023.
The hurricane’s heavy rain created rushing rivers in Oaxaca and neighboring Guerrero Thursday, killing at least one person in San Marcos, the Associated Press reported. A 1-year-old boy drowned in the town – located about 30 miles east of Acapulco – after his mother tried to cross a swollen river while carrying him, according to Guerrero state Civil Defense Director Roberto Arroyo.
Erick is the first major hurricane – Category 3 or greater – on record to hit Mexico before July. The hurricane maxed out as a ferocious Category 4 storm with 145 mph winds just off the coast in the earliest hours of Thursday morning. Read More
