Son of merchant mariner who painted USMMA Jesus painting 'honored' by Duffy's support
|
|
The son of the late merchant mariner whose painting of Jesus at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy has repeatedly made headlines said he is honored that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and the midshipmen at the academy have supported it. Hunter A. Wood II, who shares a name with his late father, told The Christian Post he was surprised by the viral footage last month that showed midshipmen erupting in applause when Duffy called for the USMMA's "Christ on the Water" painting to be brought up from the basement where it was placed during the Biden administration. "I was surprised, and I'm heartened and very honored by that," Wood said. "I'm sure my father would be very honored by the fact that so many people have taken such an interest in it."
The painting hung in the USMMA's Wiley Hall for 76 years until a 2023 letter from Military Religious Freedom Foundation founder Mikey Weinstein demanded its removal, claiming a violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. After announcing last week that he had hung a replica of the painting in his office at the Department of Transportation in Washington, Duffy issued another announcement Thursday reiterating his promise that "this painting is going to go from the basement back to its place of prominence." Wood said the attention his father's work has lately received is "an amazing point to his legacy; that so many people are interested in that and they cherish that painting so much as they do. Politics and religion aside, I think it's fabulous." (Christian Post) Read More Here.

- Father we celebrate the original "Christ on the Water" painting placed within USMMA's Wiley Hall. We pray this powerful piece of art would have a lasting impact on all who enter the room. Bless Secretary Sean Duffy for displaying a replica of this beautiful art work at the Department of Transportation. Bring favor upon him for rescuing the original painting from basement storage and locating it in a place of prominence so that generations may be blessed. May this beautiful piece serve to bring God glory, honor and praise! In Jesus mighty Name we pray- Amen and Amen.

Severe Weather Outbreak Could Produce Tornadoes, Damaging Winds And Hail In Midwest, Plains, South
|
|
An outbreak of severe weather will continue for one more day as it brings the risk of strong tornadoes, widespread damaging winds, hail and flooding rain to portions of the Midwest and South on Tuesday.
Scattered thunderstorms are moving through parts of the Tennessee Valley, prompting a few warnings. Trees were downed from thunderstorm winds in Marshall County, MIssissippi earlier this morning.
Above is a look at the latest radar along with any ongoing watches and/or warnings.
Forecast
-Tuesday-Tuesday Night: The severe weather threat will stretch across the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee valleys, with the greatest risk in red (below) from Kentucky, Tennessee, eastern Arkansas and southeast Missouri into northern Mississippi, northern Alabama and parts of northwestern Georgia. Severe weather could occur in multiple rounds across these areas.
Supercell thunderstorms could pack a strong tornado threat (EF2 or greater damage). Widespread wind damage is also a concern, especially later today and this evening as storms form into lines or clusters.
Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama; Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee; Tupelo, Mississippi; St. Louis; and Louisville, Kentucky, are some of the cities that should keep up to date on possible severe weather. Severe storms could reach as far south and east as Atlanta in the evening or overnight.
-After Tuesday: A pattern change will allow the threat of severe weather to trend downward across much of the U.S. as we enter the second half of the week. However, there could be a lingering isolated threat of severe storms along the Southeast Coast and parts of Virginia on Wednesday. Scattered severe storms could also fire up in the Southern and Central Plains late this week into the weekend. (Yahoo News) Read more here.

- Mighty God, we declare peace, be still over this weather warfare, in Jesus name. We command the horrific weather to cease and desist, and we call for settled, quiet weather, in Jesus name. We pray for the thousands who have been negatively impacted by the weather terror to be able to make sense of what has happened. We ask Father, that You send helping angels and people to assist those in need and that You would release many rescues from death, for Your glory. Amen.
- "O Lord God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O Lord? Your faithfulness also surrounds You. You rule the raging of the sea; When its waves rise, You still them." (Psalm 89:8-9)

Iranian president calls for negotiation and dialogue as nuclear talks continue
|
|
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke over the weekend, reiterating Iran’s commitment to dialogue and desire for a civilian nuclear program.
The Iranian leader addressed navy officials in Bandar Abbas, discussing the ongoing negotiations for a deal with the United States.
"We are not seeking war, we favor negotiation and dialogue, but we are not afraid of threats either, and we will in no way retreat from our legal rights," Pezeshkian said.
Compared to previous Iranian presidents, Pezeshkian has emerged as a more level-headed and reformist leader, aiming to reach new understandings with the West, according to Politico.
The United States and Iran have completed four rounds of indirect negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program, though the public has received mixed messages on the path forward. While officials from Washington and Tehran have expressed optimism about the conversations, a number of technical details have yet to be discussed, including the specifics surrounding uranium enrichment and stockpile levels. - Holy One of Israel, we pray for Iran's nuclear program to be halted, in Jesus' name. We thank You Abba, for the multitudes that are meeting Jesus as Lord and Savior and pray that the presence of Holy Spirit within them and responding to intercession will bring a radical turn-around in this nation for the glory of God. We declare there will be NO nuclear attack on any nation from Iran and we bind and silence every thought or aspiration to do so, in Jesus' name.

Trump, Putin agree to immediate talks for end of war between Ukraine, Russia
|
|
May 19 (UPI) — After a two-hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday cease-fire negotiations to end the war in Ukraine will start immediately.
Trump posted on Truth Social that he believed the call went “very well.”
After the conversation, Trump said, he also spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as European Union President Ursula von der Leyen, France’s President Emmanuel Macron, Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Finland’s President Alexander Stubb.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio joined in on the call with Trump and Putin while flying back from Rome, where he attended Pope Leo XIV’s inauguration.
“Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War,” the president wrote. “The conditions for that will be negotiated between the two parties, as it can only be, because they know details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of.”
At the Rose Garden, Trump told reporters and others: “I said, ‘When are we going to end this bloodshed, this blood bath?’ It’s a blood bath, and I do believe he [Putin] wants to end it.”
Zelensky also is calling for further sanctions on the Russian banking and energy sectors.
Trump said later Monday that he will not increase sanctions on Russia because “there’s a chance of getting something done.”
Overnight Sunday, Russia launched dozens of drones at several Ukrainian cities.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement it “neutralized” 76 of the Iran-made Shahed-type drones, shooting down 41 of them. The other 35 were lost due to electronic warfare.
From Saturday night into Sunday, Russia launched 273 drones at Ukraine, of which 88 were shot down and 128 lost, it said.
The Washington-based Institute for the Study of War said the attack marked “the largest single drone strike of the war.”

- Praise You, Father, for the talents You have blessed Donald Trump with and we rejoice that he is a willing vessel in Your hands. We pray that as You have led and guided these discussions, we ask that there will be victory in the camp of peaceful negotiations between Putin and Zelensky and they will both find a way to come to an agreement, in Jesus' name. We pray that the trade borders President Trump put forth will be strong, firm and sufficiently desirable as to bring about fair agreements between these two warring factions, in Jesus' name.

President Trump signs Take It Down Act, addressing nonconsensual deepfakes. What is it?
|
|
President Donald Trump on Monday signed the Take It Down Act, bipartisan legislation that enacts stricter penalties for the distribution of non-consensual intimate imagery, sometimes called “revenge porn,” as fell as deepfakes created by artificial intelligence.
The measure, which goes into effect immediately, was introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat from Minnesota, and later gained the support of First Lady Melania Trump. Critics of the measure, which addresses both real and artificial intelligence-generated imagery, say the language is too broad and could lead to censorship and First Amendment issues.
What is the Take It Down Act?
The law makes it illegal to “knowingly publish” or threaten to publish intimate images without a person’s consent, including AI-created “deepfakes.” It also requires websites and social media companies to remove such material within 48 hours of notice from a victim. The platforms must also take steps to delete duplicate content. Many states have already banned the dissemination of sexually explicit deepfakes or revenge porn, but the Take It Down Act is a rare example of federal regulators imposing on internet companies.
Who supports it?
The Take It Down Act has garnered strong bipartisan support and has been championed by Melania Trump, who lobbied on Capitol Hill in March saying it was “heartbreaking” to see what teenagers, especially girls, go through after they are victimized by people who spread such content.
Cruz said the measure was inspired by Elliston Berry and her mother, who visited his office after Snapchat refused for nearly a year to remove an AI-generated “deepfake” of the then 14-year-old.
Meta, which owns and operates Facebook and Instagram, supports the legislation.
“Having an intimate image – real or AI-generated – shared without consent can be devastating and Meta developed and backs many efforts to help prevent it,” Meta spokesman Andy Stone said in March.
Senator Klobuchar called the law’s passage a “a major victory for victims of online abuse” and said it gives people “legal protections and tools for when their intimate images, including deepfakes, are shared without their consent, and enabling law enforcement to hold perpetrators accountable.”
“This is also a landmark move towards establishing common-sense rules of the road around social media and AI,” she added.
Senator Cruz said “predators who weaponize new technology to post this exploitative filth will now rightfully face criminal consequences, and Big Tech will no longer be allowed to turn a blind eye to the spread of this vile material.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

- HalleluJah Father! We stand together in the gap on behalf of our young ones and declare there will be no more victimization of our children, especially from sexual garbage put upon them, in Jesus' name. Thank You for our government taking these strong steps and may we adults get in the game also and fight for the purity, safety and protection of children from the groomers, traffickers, pedophiles and all their peers who have gotten twisted by the agendas against God's design and image, in Jesus' name. We pray for technology to move to the back seat of the bus and be brought under Godly control, in Jesus' name and Holy One, we welcome a new Godly moral foundation in this nation that is embraced by our youth, in Jesus' name.
- "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: 'I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.'" (2 Corinthians 6:14-16)

1. Netanyahu Criticizes London, Ottawa, and Paris for Urging End to Gaza Conflict - Israel 365 News
In a statement from his office on May 19, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is fighting a war for survival after Hamas militants crossed its borders, killing 1,200 civilians and abducting hundreds. He accused the European and Canadian governments of effectively offering Hamas a “huge prize” by urging a premature ceasefire and pushing for the establishment of a Palestinian state amid ongoing hostilities
Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s support for the U.S.-proposed peace plan and called on European nations to back this vision. He stressed that the war could conclude immediately if Hamas releases hostages, disarms, removes its leadership, and Gaza is demilitarized. “No country should have to accept less, and Israel will not,” he said.
The joint statement from London, Ottawa, and Paris, issued earlier the same day, expressed grave concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and condemned the expansion of Israeli military operations. While reaffirming Israel’s right to defend itself, they described the recent escalation as disproportionate and warned of further actions if Israel did not ease restrictions on aid and halt its offensive. 2. Houthis Declare Naval Blockade of Israel’s Haifa Port - Israel 364 News
The Yemeni Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, announced on May 19 a naval blockade targeting the Israeli port of Haifa, marking a significant escalation in their campaign against Israel. Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesman, warned that all ships heading to or docked at this major northern Israeli port will now be considered legitimate military targets.
Saree’s announcement, broadcast on television, served as a warning to international shipping companies that their vessels face increased risks in this critical maritime hub. The Houthis framed the blockade as retaliation for Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza.
This declaration follows a recent pattern of intensified threats from the group. Earlier this month, they threatened to impose an aerial blockade on Israel after launching a missile toward Ben-Gurion Airport. On Sunday, Israeli defense forces intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, prompting air-raid sirens across central Israel. (Read more)

3. Report: New US intel suggests Israel poised for Iran nuclear attack - Israel National News
New intelligence obtained by the United States suggests that Israel is actively preparing for a potential military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, even as the Trump administration continues to pursue a diplomatic resolution with Tehran, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing multiple US officials.
Such an Israeli strike would mark a significant break from President Donald Trump's diplomatic approach and carries the substantial risk of escalating regional tensions, the officials said.
While US officials caution that a final decision by Israeli leadership has not been confirmed, deep disagreements within the US government persist regarding the likelihood of an Israeli pre-emptive action. (Read more)

“Yair Golan is a terrorist” who is “sabotaging efforts to achieve war goals, sabotaging the safety of IDF fighters and sabotaging Israeli democracy,” says Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi. (Read more)

1. EXCLUSIVE: Republican Lawmakers Look to Codify Trump Policy to End Leftist Lawfare - Daily Signal
When courts issue wrongful injunctions, taxpayers are often left paying for the damage done to their own government. But Reps. Derek Schmidt, R-Kan., and Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., are introducing a bill on Monday that aims to shift that burden from taxpayers to the plaintiffs seeking these injunctions, forcing the courts to enforce pre-existing federal law.
The legislation, titled the “Wrongful Injunction Accountability Act of 2025,” seeks to “ensure compliance with Rule 65(c) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure in restraining actions brought against the United States,” according to a draft text of the bill provided to The Daily Signal.
“Our bill creates a way to enforce these taxpayer protections already on the books, discouraging frivolous lawsuits and ensuring the responsible use of Americans’ tax dollars,” Schmidt told The Daily Signal.
“The American people’s voice is suppressed when a single judge can impose injunctions that disrupt the work of elected officials chosen by voters,” Hageman told The Daily Signal. “The Wrongful Injunction Accountability Act discourages such litigation and leaves the plaintiffs responsible for costs and damages of baseless injunctions. American taxpayers deserve a judicial system they can trust, this bill restores that.” (The Daily Signal) Read more here.

- We bless these members of Congress who have put forward legislation to oblige members of the judicial system to follow the law of the land, in Jesus name. We pray for strong enforcement measures to compel full financial responsibility for frivolous and irresponsible lawsuits against our nation and we call for an end to the process of one judge being able to impose injunctions against the work of the President whom we have duly elected, in Jesus name.
- "Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you, As you have spoken. Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of hosts Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph." (Amos 5:14-15)

US Attorney Alina Habba announced federal charges against Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver for assaulting ICE agents.
“Today my office has charged Congresswoman McIver with violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement,” Alina Habba said on Monday evening.
“No one is above the law — politicians or otherwise,” Alina Habba said.
“After a thorough review of the video footage of Delaney Hall and a full investigation from HSI, the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey has made the determination to charge Congresswoman LaMonica McIver for assaulting, resisting, and impeding law enforcement officers,” Noem said. 3. Trump 'Looking Into' Biden's Autopen OK to Open Borders - Newsmax
President Donald Trump said he will investigate former President Joe Biden using an autopen during his time in the White House.
"We're going to start looking into this whole thing with who signed this legislation. Who signed legislation opening our border? I don't think [Biden] knew. I said, 'There's nobody that can want an open border. Nobody,'" Trump said while visiting Capitol Hill Tuesday. "And now I find out that it wasn't him. He autopenned it."
Trump said he wants to know who was operating the autopen.
"This is a very serious thing," Trump said. "We had a president that didn't sign anything. He autopenned almost anything. He opened the borders of the United States of America."
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., said Friday that the panel has opened an investigation into former President Biden's use of an autopen to issue his eleventh-hour pardons, adding he thinks they know the staffer who did it, the Washington Examiner reported. (Read more)

Holy One, our desire is for righteousness in government and we cannot tolerate such injustice and outrageous deception, so we ask for Your wisdom to lead us into holiness and righteousness.

This is not just incompetence, it's betrayal. If you care about the future of this country, you need to hear what he uncovered.

Wendy McMahon, the president and CEO of CBS News and Stations, is quitting the network amid an ongoing legal battle with President Donald Trump over a "60 Minutes" interview that allegedly was deceptively edited to favor former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 White House race.

"It's become clear that the company and I do not agree on the path forward. It's time for me to move on and for this organization to move forward with new leadership. 6. Reconciliation bill back on track, at least for now - Roll Call
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, one of four conservative Budget Committee members who agreed to vote “present” Sunday to allow the House to move forward with the bill designed to implement Trump’s policy agenda, said in a statement, “the bill does not yet meet the moment.”
The Rules Committee is scheduled to convene at 1 a.m. Wednesday to set the ground rules for floor debate on the measure after releasing an updated committee print version of the legislative text overnight.
Among the newest changes is the removal of a provision opposed by Rep. Michael R. Turner, R-Ohio, that would force federal agency employees, lawmakers and congressional staff to contribute more of their salaries to their pension plans. The effective dates of two other pension-related provisions would be delayed to 2028.
Roy said provisions related to curbing spending enacted under President Joe Biden, especially for environmental and energy programs, needed to see further cuts. He also criticized the bill’s Medicaid language. (Read more)

Trump in the Middle East and The Dangerous Prophetic Convergence
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 20, 2025
The chessboard of Middle East geopolitics is shifting again—and the moves are as ancient as they are modern. President Trump is walking a prophetic tightrope in what appears as a strategic move to either foster a better environment for peace or a hidden agenda to root out Islamic radicalism. He ended bombing of the terrorist Houtis and lifted sanctions on Syria per advice of Israel’s enemies over Israel’s objections. Trump also acquiesced to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has positioned himself as a central broker between global powers, while at the same time becoming an increasingly hostile voice against Israel. This duality should catch the eye of any serious student of prophecy—and current affairs.
Let’s look at what’s playing out. Erdoğan has stepped into the role of mediator between Russia and Ukraine. On the surface, diplomacy sounds admirable. But let’s not forget: Russia is no friend to Israel. It arms its enemies (Iran, Syria), shields its proxies (Hezbollah), and props up brutal regimes (like Assad in Syria). Erdoğan’s effort to “broker peace” between Moscow and Kyiv has earned him international praise, but underneath, it aligns him with adversaries of Israel—especially as Turkey’s ties with Putin deepen economically and militarily. At the same time, Erdoğan has doubled down on anti-Israel rhetoric, particularly in the wake of the Gaza conflict. He’s accused Israel of “war crimes,” called for international sanctions, and hosted leaders of the terrorist Hamas. This is not mere political theater. It is ideological alignment. Read More

Supreme Court Allows Trump to Remove Protected Status for Venezuelans
|
|
|
The Supreme Court has granted President Donald Trump’s request to remove legal protections for Venezuelan nationals, opening them up to potential deportation. The decision came in a brief order on May 19. It noted that the order was “without prejudice” toward a challenge to the policy implemented by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson would have denied the administration’s request, according to the order. The Supreme Court’s block was temporary and allows the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to weigh in on the issue. If the justices take up the case for more thorough consideration, the stay will expire when they issue a judgment.
In early May, the Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to remove a lower court’s block on its decision to remove temporary legal protections for more than 300,000 Venezuelan nationals.
The order came after another decision on May 16 in which the Supreme Court blocked the president from deporting suspected Venezuelan gang members under the Alien Enemies Act.
U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer, addressing the temporary legal protections case, told the Supreme Court in a brief on May 1 that a federal judge in California had overstepped his authority. “The court contravened an express bar on judicial review, sidestepped black-letter law authorizing agencies to reverse as-yet-inoperative actions, and embraced a baseless equal-protection theory on the road to issuing impermissible universal relief that intrudes on central Executive Branch operations,” Sauer said. Trump, Grenell Lead Kennedy Center's Shift Away from Woke Programming, Embrace Family-Friendly Content
|
|
|
The Kennedy Center is entering a new era by shifting its focus away from woke programming, thanks in large part to the leadership of President Donald Trump and the center's President, Richard Grenell. As part of a broader effort to restore the institution’s mission and broaden its appeal, the Kennedy Center is returning to its roots, offering programming that speaks to all Americans, rather than catering to the elite left. President Trump remains deeply involved with the Kennedy Center, underscoring his commitment to the arts, even hosting the entire board at the White House for dinner on Monday. Under Trump and Grenell’s leadership, the Kennedy Center is embracing traditional values and moving away from the divisive, politically driven content that has dominated for too long.
The Kennedy Center is revamping its programming to focus more on family-friendly content, including offering more faith-based programming that has often been excluded in the past. One such offering will be a free family screening of the new Angel Studios animated film The King of Kings, which tells the story of Jesus' life from the perspective of a young boy who discovers the transformative power of faith. This will be the first Jesus-centric show at the Kennedy Center since 2022.
“This season brings students of all ages on inspiring journeys,” Jordan LaSalle, Vice President of Education, said. “Featuring some of the most exciting companies from across the nation and world, each performance encourages the young and young-at-heart to unleash their imaginations. We are thrilled to continue our decades-long commitment to commissioning new works, including our first for our youngest of audiences and their families.” (Town Hall) Read more here.

- Father God, we rejoice at this news! We praise You, O Lord, for this "change of command" at the Kennedy Center, and we look forward to next month, which has traditionally been designated as "Gay Pride Month" by the LGBT leaders, when the Kennedy Center will no longer be flooded on the outside with the colors of the Rainbow Coalition! Together we shout "Hallelujah" to this new day at the Kennedy Center - a major gateway to the nation's capitol. In Your Name, Holy One, we offer this prayer of thanksgiving, amen and amen!

As more details continue to emerge regarding the alarming extent of former President Joe Biden’s mental and physical incapacities while serving in the most powerful office in the world, insiders are pointing out that the mainstream media willingly followed the lead of White House officials who insisted that Biden was perfectly fit to perform his duties despite a multitude of audio and video evidence showing otherwise.
According to a new book coming out this week by CNN reporter Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson entitled “Original Sin,” Biden’s cognitive decline began almost a decade before his 2024 presidential campaign for reelection, when glaring examples of Biden’s mental and physical struggles began occurring in front of cameras on a weekly basis. “Those close to him say that the first signs he was deteriorating emerged after the death of his beloved son Beau in 2015,” Tapper and Thompson write. A ghostwriter for Biden admitted in 2017 that he “was really struggling. … His cognitive capacity seemed to have been failing him.”
Despite the clear signs of Biden’s decline to those in his inner circle years before the 2020 election, his enablers pushed ahead with his presidential campaign. By 2021, Biden’s closest aides began scripting Cabinet meetings, to the point that his agency secretaries would be asked ahead of a meeting, “‘Well, what are you going to ask? If he asks a certain question, what is your answer going to be?’” By the beginning of 2023, the president’s cognitive condition had become so serious that senior White House aides were attempting to “shield him from his own staff so many people didn’t realize the extent of the decline.” Even Cabinet secretaries were eventually “kept at bay” and “didn’t get a chance to interact with the President.” The truth was that “five people were running the country,” an unnamed source close to the Biden administration told Tapper and Thompson.
Despite this, no members of Biden’s Cabinet came forward to reveal what was happening. “When they would complain internally, they were told, ‘He’s fine, be quiet,’” Tapper noted in a New Yorker interview. As Tapper and Thompson wrote, however, “The presidency requires someone who can perform at 2:00 a.m. during an emergency. Cabinet secretaries in his own administration told us that by 2024, he could not be relied upon for this.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

- Lord God, we thank You that, even in the time of Joe Biden's illness, nevertheless You caused Your hand of protection to rest upon our nation, lest worse would befall us. We ask You to forgive all of those who were around him for promoting
this coverup, and we ask that you would cause each one to come to repentance, finding You as their Savior and their Lord. Thank You, Holy One, for protecting this nation -- the nation that belongs to You. Amen.

'It’s a war zone': Communities pick up the pieces after deadly Kentucky tornadoes

At least 19 people are dead and neighborhoods destroyed after violent tornadoes tore through Kentucky.
Two days after deadly tornadoes tore through southern Kentucky, devastated communities are beginning the painful process of picking up the pieces.
At least 19 people have died across the state, with 17 fatalities reported in Laurel County, one in Pulaski County and another in Russell County, according to Governor Andy Beshear. Among the dead is Firefighter Major Roger Leslie Leatherman, who was killed while responding to the destruction.
Beshear said damage assessments were still being conducted Monday by the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management.
"Kentuckians are strong," he continued. "We will make it through this, and we'll make it through this together."
“It’s a war zone,” said Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, spokesperson for the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, which is also continuing search and rescue efforts as families return to rubble where their homes once stood.
Some residents, like Craig Singleton of London, survived the storm by sheltering in a neighbor’s basement. When they emerged, most of their house was gone. Read More

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
