Earthquake in New York: About the Ramapo
Fault Line

The confirmed earthquake in the late morning hours of Friday, April 5th caught residents of New York and New Jersey by surprise. Social media was flooded with questions about the seismic activity that was felt across the tristate.

Earthquakes in New York State
While earthquakes are far more common on the west coast of the United States, this was far from the first time tectonic plates have shifted in the Northeast (below). The 4.8 magnitude of the event on April 5th, however, was one of the largest recorded quakes in the area.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported the epicenter of the earthquake as roughly four miles north of Whitehouse Station, NJ, a town located very close to the Ramapo Fault, the longest fault line in the northeast.

Earthquakes are measured in orders of magnitude ranging from 2.5 and lower (described as "usually not felt, but can be recorded by seismograph") to 8.0 and higher ("can totally destroy communities near the epicenter"). The 4.8 magnitude quake in the tristate falls between the range of 2.5 and 5.4, defined as "often felt, but only causes minor damage". Read More
- Well, Father God, You are a God of surprises!

For many years now, we have been praying that Your Hand of protection would rest upon the San Andreas Fault Line for all who live in that region, amen.

But now - surprise, surprise! We are learning about a new fault line, equally as dangerous, on our East Coast, so we ask that You remember our prayers for those who live in the West Coast, shifting this intercession to the East Coast.

Thank You, O Lord and our dear Father, for hearing these prayers, in Your wonderful Name, amen and amen.

Magnitude 4.8 earthquake strikes NYC, tri-state area while UN Security Council was meeting to discuss Israel-Hamas conflict; '48 was the year Israel became a nation again
- Please take time this weekend to read over these headlines, referring to Friday's quake in New York City.  Even though the scientists are predicting that a series of aftershocks will follow yesterday's shake for up to the next week, we do ask our Lord to intervene and to lessen the impacts of this shake that may follow.

"The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."  (James 5:16)

A rare earthquake rocked the New York area Friday morning, shaking buildings and sending terrified residents into the streets as it rattled parts of the Big Apple, Connecticut and New Jersey — the first time a major temblor hit the city since 2011.

The preliminary 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Lebanon, New Jersey, around 10:23 a.m., according to the US Geological Survey.

At the United Nations in Midtown Manhattan, a Security Council address on the Israel-Gaza conflict was interrupted as cameras began shuddering. (Read more here)

CIA Warns "Iran Will Attack Within 48 Hours" as Revenge for Consulate Strike

The CIA has warned Israel that Iran will attack the country in the next 48 hours, it has been reported.

Israel killed two Iranian military commanders with a strike on Tehran's consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus this week.

Iran vowed that it would take revenge for the attack, and now foreign media is reporting that US intelligence is fearful of an attack on Israel.

Tehran is said to be planning a combined attack with a "rain" of drones and missiles fired from its bases at strategic locations inside Israel, according to Al Mayadeen.

This comes after US officials raised fears that the Israeli strike could lead to a wider war in the Middle East. (Daily Express US.com) Read more here.

- Holy One, we decree together today that Iran will only be permitted to attack Israel when You allow her to do so. Until that time, we thank You that Israel belongs to You and that she will be protected by Your mighty arm. In Your Name, we offer this prayer, amen and amen.

“For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.” (Zechariah 2:8)
Weekend Wrap Up

Submitted by Gary Bauer; American Values
  • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation eliminating so-called “squatter’s rights.”
  • The Georgia legislature passed new election integrity measures, strengthening ballot chain of custody and providing additional transparency in the ballot counting process.
  • Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed legislation protecting the religious liberty rights of adoptive and foster parents. He also signed legislation protecting parental rights in the health care decisions of minor children.
  • Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed legislation strengthening protections for religious liberty.
  • A federal appeals court ruled that Pennsylvania should only count mail-in ballots that are signed and dated. This is a significant victory for election integrity.
  • Grassroots activists in Washington State scored a major victory over the progressive left. They forced the liberal legislature to approve three commonsense initiatives, and three more will appear on the November ballot for the people’s approval.
> > > Thank you, Gary, for reporting each week on these good news items.
We praise God witih youi that the light still shines in this time of darkness.
