We pray Your blessing upon each guest speaker and attendee, and ask for hearts to be prepared in advance to fully receive the truth of the gospel, causing heart-felt repentance. S&P 500 Hits Record High as US Stocks Recover From Iran War Sell-Off

The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index is poised for the best 11-session performance in history.
The S&P 500 index rallied to a fresh record high on April 15 as U.S. stocks extended their rebound from last month’s war‑driven sell-off.
The benchmark index jumped by almost 0.8 percent, or 55 points, to 7,022 at the market close. It has surged by more than 3 percent over the past week and is now up by 2.5 percent this year.
Technology stocks also are rallying midweek, with the Nasdaq composite index soaring by more than 376 points, or 1.59 percent, to 24,016.
The Nasdaq is poised for the best 11-session stretch in history, surging by about 2,400 points this month. Year-to-date, the popular tech-heavy index has risen by 3 percent.
The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average was little changed, closing at 48,463. It is up by 0.83 percent this year.
“Markets are incredibly reflexive in that we can go from deep oversold oscillator readings to overbought in the matter of [two] weeks,” Ken Mahoney, president and CEO of Mahoney Asset Management, told The Epoch Times in an emailed note. Read more |

Israel, US Discuss Possible Week-Long Ceasefire with Hezbollah

Officials said a one-week truce is under consideration as Israel’s war Cabinet prepares to review Lebanon operations and U.S.-brokered talks are set to continue
Israel and the United States are discussing the possibility of a short ceasefire with Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israeli officials said, even as fighting continued on April 15 and Israeli leaders prepared to review the next phase of the campaign.
Senior officials in Jerusalem told Epoch Magazine Israel that the option under consideration is a ceasefire lasting about one week, potentially aligning with the current pause in fighting between Iran and Israel and the United States. They stressed that no decision has been made.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to convene his security Cabinet on April 15 to discuss military operations in Lebanon, the officials said.
The deliberations come a day after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors in Washington for rare direct talks, the first publicly acknowledged meeting of its kind in decades. The U.S. State Department said the discussions were constructive but yielded no immediate agreement.

President Donald Trump said the leaders of Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10 day ceasefire beginning today at 5 p.m. ET.

In a Truth Social post, Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon have agreed on a 10 day ceasefire that will begin at 5 p.m. ET today.
“I just had excellent conversations with the Highly Respected President Joseph Aoun, of Lebanon, and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel,” Trump wrote.
“These two Leaders have agreed that in order to achieve PEACE between their Countries, they will formally begin a 10 Day CEASEFIRE at 5 P.M. EST."
“I have directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, together with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Razin’ Caine, to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a Lasting PEACE.”
Israel launched attacks in Lebanon about six weeks ago, targeting Iran-backed militia and political group Hezbollah, which is not party to the Lebanon-Israel talks. More than 1 million Lebanese have been displaced during the fighting.
Trump said he would also be inviting Aoun and Netanyahu to the White House for “meaningful talks.”

Israel and Lebanon agreed to a 10-day ceasefire on Thursday following calls between U.S. president Donald Trump and the leaders of each country.
After Trump announced the truce on social media, the State Department released a statement with details of the agreement between the two sides.
“Israel and Lebanon will implement a cessation of hostilities” that will start at 5 p.m. Eastern on April 16 for “an initial period of 10 days, as a gesture of goodwill by the government of Israel, intended to enable good-faith negotiations toward a permanent security and peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon,” the agreement says.
The agreement adds that Israel will retain a right to self-defense “at any time, against planned, imminent or ongoing attacks” but will otherwise cease offensive military operations in Lebanon. (Read more)

Ministers in Netanyahu’s cabinet also fumed during a hastily convened phone call with cabinet members to discuss the matter, claiming they heard about the ceasefire for the first time from Trump’s announcement, and questioned how it was declared without their approval, Hebrew media reported.
Trump announced earlier that the 10-day ceasefire would go into effect at midnight on Thursday, and said he would be inviting Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to the White House for negotiations.
Municipal leaders in northern Israel, which has faced ongoing stream of Hezbollah missiles and rockets since it started firing at Israel on March 2 as part of the Iran war, expressed outrage and betrayal over the announcement.

3. IDF uncovers Hezbollah arsenal stashed inside southern Lebanon school

Israeli Defense Forces operating in the strategic southern Lebanese hub of Bint Jbeil have uncovered a massive stockpile of weapons hidden within a local school, according to military reports released Thursday.
During a targeted search of the educational facility, troops found more than 130 weapons, including dozens of Kalashnikov rifles, handguns, and various other tactical weapons.
Alongside the munitions, soldiers discovered Hezbollah flags and organizational insignia, providing further evidence of the militant group’s presence within the civilian building. (Read more)

4. Israeli gov’t approves nearly $330 million Golan build-up plan - JNS
The Israeli government has approved a multi-year, nearly 1 billion shekel (about $334 million) plan to expand development in the Golan Heights and the town of Katzrin, New Hope Party lawmaker Ze’ev Elkin announced on Thursday.
Elkin said the five-year initiative, adopted through a government telephone poll overnight and into the morning, aims to bring thousands of new families to the Golan region and designate Katzrin as the first city in the territory—a move he called “a historic event with far-reaching political significance.”
He thanked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Housing Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf and other members of the government for backing the plan. Elkin also praised Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar for supporting the project from the coalition negotiation stage through its approval.
Israel’s latest Golan development plan follows a meeting earlier this week between Netanyahu and the heads of the Katzrin and Golan councils at his Jerusalem office, where the premier framed the initiative as part of a broader strategy to “strengthen the north” and solidify Israel’s hold on the strategic plateau.

The Foreign Ministry’s Appointments Committee for Appointing Representatives Abrod, chaired by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, on Wednesday approved two new diplomatic appointments.
Yahel Vilan has been appointed Israel’s ambassador to Singapore and East Timor. He previously served as ambassador to Kenya and Serbia.
Michael Lotem, currently serving as a non-resident economic ambassador to Africa, has been appointed Israel’s first ambassador to Somaliland.
He previously served as Israel’s ambassador to Kenya, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. In the initial stage, Lotem will serve as a non-resident ambassador to Somaliland.
Israel recognized Somaliland in December 2025, becoming the first and, to date, the only country to officially recognize the self-declared republic, which Somalia considers part of its territory. (Read more)

Father, we pray that you remove this politically strangling stronghold from the biased media, the Democratic party and the Islamic union that have come into agreement together to discredit the United States across the globe. We pray for wisdom and divine protection for President Trump and the War Cabinet as they look to You, Lord God for, strength!

We declare angelic protection over our military as they refuse to allow ships to cross through the Strait, giving the Iranian regime time to come to their senses and make wise decisions to give up all hope of having nuclear weapons.

Iran is moving tens of millions of barrels of oil through covert offshore networks to bypass the new U.S. blockade on its ports, maritime intelligence firm Windward AI says.
The blockade, which took effect April 13, came amid a two-week ceasefire and failed peace talks between the U.S. and Iran, and as President Donald Trump insisted the waterway must remain open. Roughly 20% of the world’s oil passes through it.
"Iranian oil distribution continues through indirect routing and offshore transfer networks," Windward told Fox News Digital.

Some of the considerations are debatable so we ask for Your divine wisdom and instruction to be manifested in the final results of the financial and construction policies in the days to come. US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he was not considering extending a ceasefire with Iran, predicting “an amazing two days ahead” amid renewed diplomatic efforts with Tehran for an agreement to end the war.
But reports on Wednesday indicated that a ceasefire extension was on the table as US and Iranian negotiators try to reach an agreement.
Trump told ABC News on Tuesday he believed an extension was most likely not necessary, with the two-week ceasefire set to end on April 22. Earlier, he had predicted a second round of talks with Iran in Pakistan in the next two days.
“I think you’re going to be watching an amazing two days ahead,” Trump said, reiterating his prediction that there would be developments in the coming 48 hours. “I really do.”
“It could end either way, but I think a deal is preferable because then they can rebuild,” he said. “They really do have a different regime now. No matter what, we took out the radicals. They’re gone, no longer with us.”
Trump then asserted, “If I weren’t president, the world would be torn to pieces.”
On Wednesday, a senior official said that the US had yet to formally agree to extend the ceasefire, but that “engagement” between the sides is continuing as negotiators seek to extend the truce.
Before the ceasefire expires, mediators are pushing for a compromise on three main sticking points that derailed direct talks last weekend — Iran’s nuclear program, the Strait of Hormuz and compensation for wartime damages, according to a regional official who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss the mediation efforts. Iran’s economy could collapse within three months under naval blockade, experts warn

If a full naval blockade of Iran proves successful, it would, on the one hand, increase the immediate risk of war between Iran and the United States - potentially drawing in all countries in the region - and, on the other, trigger an unprecedented crisis in the global economy, particularly affecting China.
Forecasts suggest that Iran’s economy, which is heavily dependent on oil exports, could collapse within approximately three months. This would likely be accompanied by massive waves of street protests, driven by subsidy cuts and a sharp, unprecedented surge in runaway inflation.
Following the launch of the naval blockade operation ordered by US President Donald Trump after the failure of negotiations between the two sides in Islamabad, Iran’s ruling authorities have declared that any attack on Iranian ports would be met with retaliatory strikes against ports across the region.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has continued to obstruct passage through the Strait of Hormuz and has reportedly even threatened US military vessels in the area.
At the same time, as the blockade is enforced and President Trump has warned that any Iranian fast-attack boats approaching the area will be destroyed, the IRGC’s warning to US military vessels seeking to enter the Strait of Hormuz could at any moment ignite another war, despite the two-week ceasefire. Lord God, we bring this dangerous situation before Your Throne of Grace. We ask that Your angelic host would protect our American vessels who are now in this area with orders to protect other ships, from many nations, from harm. We can sense the absolute anger of the enemy in this article, but we decree that our naval military (as well as our air force) are much greater and much more powerful than that of our enemy, Iran. Help us, O Lord, so that the leaders of Iran will recognize the reality of the current situation, and will back down so that all vessels from many nations will be free to sail through the Strait of Hormuz. In Jesus' mighty and all powerful name, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ripped the media Thursday, likening them to Pharisees in the Bible who "were only there to explain away the goodness in pursuit of their agenda."
"A note to the press, to the press corps, to the American media, as I just can’t help but notice the endless stream of garbage, the relentlessly negative coverage, you cannot resist peddling, despite the historic and important success of this effort and the success of our troops," Hegseth said during a press briefing on the war with Iran, at the Pentagon.
The U.S. is currently in a ceasefire with Iran during Operation Epic Fury, which began on Feb. 28. The U.S. and Iran could begin a new round of peace talks as soon as Thursday, according to reports.
Hegseth went on to say that it was difficult to "figure out what side" some of the press was on.
"It’s incredibly unpatriotic," he said. "This same press corps, not this exact same press corps, but at least an older press corps bent over backwards during the Biden administration to explain away, you explained away the disastrous and disgraceful Afghanistan withdrawal."
Hegseth recalled the withdrawal, telling the media, "You called it the greatest airlift in American history. It’s almost like you’re cheering only for one side."
He then recounted his experience in church over the weekend.
"This past Sunday… I was sitting in church with my family, and our minister preached from the Book of Mark, the third chapter," Hegseth said. "And in the passage, Jesus entered a synagogue and healed a man with a withered hand. The Pharisees came to watch. And as the Scripture reads, they came to see whether he, Jesus, would heal him, or he would heal Him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
"You see, the Pharisees, the so-called and self-appointed elites of their time, they were there to witness, to write everything down, to report," he said.
"But their hearts were hardened. Even though they witnessed a literal miracle, it didn’t matter, they were only there to explain away the goodness in pursuit of their agenda. As the passage ends, the Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel against him how to destroy him," Hegseth continued.

2,000-year-old Roman shipwreck discovered with treasures still clustered where it sank

Archaeologists recently found well-preserved ancient treasures at the bottom of a Swiss lake — and the treasures remain close to where the ship sank.
The shipwreck was found in Lake Neuchâtel in Switzerland, some 75 miles southwest of Zurich, by a team of Swiss archaeologists, according to news agency Jam Press.
A team of excavators from the Cantonal Archaeology Office of Neuchâtel (OARC), the Octopus Foundation and the Archaeological Service of the State of Fribourg conducted the search in March 2025, though officials didn't announce the finds until last month.
The cargo, which dates to between 20 and 50 A.D., was once part of a Roman merchant vessel traveling on Lake Neuchâtel.
The treasure includes hundreds of finely crafted dishes, bowls, cups and plates that were produced across the Swiss Plateau, the central lowland region between the Jura Mountains and the Alps. (Fox News) Read More
