|
|
President Donald Trump will read from 2 Chronicles 7 during a nationwide Bible-reading event this week, a passage organizers say was deliberately reserved for the president because of its decades-long role as a call to prayer in America.
Trump is set to read 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 from the Oval Office during the 6 p.m. ET hour on Tuesday as part of "America Reads the Bible," a weeklong event marking 250 years of the Bible in America and featuring nearly 500 participants reading Scripture from Genesis to Revelation.
Organizers said Trump’s section was not assigned at random.
The event’s online schedule shows the 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 reading was reserved as a "special guest" slot during a prime evening hour on Tuesday, alongside figures like former HUD Secretary Ben Carson and members of Congress.
The event’s opening celebration takes place at 7 p.m. ET Saturday, in Washington, D.C., followed by seven straight days of continuous public readings, from Genesis to Revelation, starting at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Museum of the Bible on the World Stage Theater.
"We needed somebody special to read Second Chronicles chapter seven," Bunni Pounds, founder and president of Christians Engaged, told Fox News Digital."As my director and I were praying over different sections of scripture, it came to us that this is such a critical passage for the body of Christ," she said.
Pounds said the passage, particularly verse 14, has been central to American prayer life for decades, often invoked during times of national reflection.
"It comes at a time where the Israelites were experiencing hardship and God spoke and said, ‘If my people that are called by my name would humble themselves and pray,’" Pounds said. "We’ve prayed this scripture for at least the last 50 years of American history on National Day of Prayer and other moments in this country."
Verse 14 reads, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

BREAKING: Trump Gives Major Update on Strait of Hormuz
|
|
President Donald Trump announced Friday morning that the Strait of Hormuz is open.
“IRAN HAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT THE STRAIT OF IRAN IS FULLY OPEN AND READY FOR FULL PASSAGE,” he wrote on TruthSocial. “THANK YOU!”
A few minutes later, Trump posted that the Strait was “COMPLETELY OPEN AND READY FOR BUSINESS AND FULL PASSAGE.”
The Iranian foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, confirmed this on X, saying that yesterday’s ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was connected to the strait’s reopening.
“In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon,” he said, “the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran.”
Since Monday, the United States had maintained a blockade of ships connected to Iranian commerce. Trump added on Friday that “THE NAVAL BLOCKADE WILL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS IT PERTAINS TO IRAN, ONLY, UNTIL SUCH TIME AS OUR TRANSACTION WITH IRAN IS 100% COMPLETE.” (Daily Signal) Read more here.

Senate temporarily extends nation’s controversial spying powers after House fumbles
|
|
The Senate quietly extended the nation’s spying powers Friday morning after the House failed to reauthorize the program before the fast-approaching deadline.
The upper chamber’s unanimous vote to extend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) gives Congress a little more breathing room beyond the April 20 deadline but still leaves lawmakers in the same divided place they started.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., had positioned the Senate to swiftly receive and possibly pass a FISA reauthorization, but he recognized possible division over greenlighting a clean extension of the program in the upper chamber.
"We're gonna need some cooperation to get it done before things will go dark on the 20th, and I hope that we have that level of cooperation [in the Senate]," Thune said Thursday. "But we're not gonna know that for sure until the House processes that and sends it to us."
The original plan was derailed because of the controversial Section 702 of FISA. On the surface, it allows the government to spy on foreign nationals abroad, but nothing stops that law from collecting data on Americans if they happen to be involved in those communications. ICE Director Lyons Resigns Hours After Announcing Largest Chinese Illegal Alien Gift Card Fraud in History
|
|
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons submitted a letter of resignation to the Department of Homeland Security on Thursday. The announcement followed his testimony before the House Appropriation Committee’s Subcommittee on Homeland Security regarding the ICE budget, where he announced the bust of Chinese illegal aliens allegedly involved in the largest gift card fraud scheme in history.
In a letter revealed by the New York Times, Lyons cited family issues as his reason for resigning. He said leading the agency he served for 20 years a “tremendous honor.”
“My sons are both reaching a pivotal point in their lives, and my wife and I wish to spend as much time as possible with them,” Lyons wrote in his resignation letter. “This was not an easy decision, but I believe it is the right one for me and my family at this time.”
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin responded to the resignation, calling Lyons a “great leader of ICE and a key player in helping the Trump administration remove murderers, rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, and gang members from American communities.”
Trump administration border czar Tom Homan called Lyons a selfless servant who achieved a “record number of removals in the first year of the administration,” according to a post on X by Fox News’ Bill Melugin.
White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller added, “Todd is a phenomenal patriot and dedicated leader who has been at the center of President Trump’s historic efforts to secure our homeland and reverse the Democrats’ sinister border invasion.”
His resignation came hours after his testimony before the House Appropriation Committee’s Subcommittee on Homeland Security, where he disclosed that his ICE Homeland Security Investigations team broke the largest gift card fraud case in history. He said the scheme was carried out by transnational gangs within the Chinese Communist Party who entered the U.S. illegally under the Biden administration. Democrats Move to Impeach Hegseth Over Iran Strikes, Civilian Claims

House Democrats have introduced articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, accusing him of abusing power, mishandling classified information and authorizing military action without proper legal authority.
The resolution, introduced April 15 by a group of lawmakers led by Yassamin Ansari, outlines six articles of impeachment tied largely to recent U.S. military operations involving Iran, including allegations of civilian casualties and unauthorized use of force.
While the effort is unlikely to succeed in Congress, it marks a significant escalation in a broader fight over who ultimately controls the use of U.S. military power.
A Rare Move — With Long Odds
Impeachment of a sitting defense secretary is extraordinarily rare. Removal would require a majority vote in the House and a two-thirds vote in the Senate, a threshold that is almost certainly out of reach under current political dynamics.
But the importance of the move is not limited to its chances of success.

FBI Director Kash Patel is vowing to take The Atlantic to court over a bombshell report published Friday evening that he says is filled with defamatory claims.
"Print it, all false, I’ll see you in court — bring your checkbook," Patel told The Atlantic in a statement included in the report.
The story, "The FBI Director is MIA," outlined several explosive allegations, including instances of "erratic" behavior, "excessive drinking" and "unexplained absences."
The first claim alleged Patel had a "freak-out" over a tech issue earlier this month when attempting to log into a computer system, believing he was being fired by President Donald Trump after Attorney General Pam Bondi's ouster and had to prep an announcement. The Atlantic cited nine unnamed sources familiar with the incident.
"But Patel, according to multiple current officials, as well as former officials who have stayed close to him, is deeply concerned that his job is in jeopardy. He has good reasons to think so — including some having to do with what witnesses described to me as bouts of excessive drinking," The Atlantic staff writer Sarah Fitzpatrick told readers before citing past reports of rumors that Patel was also on the chopping block.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Atlantic in a statement that Patel "remains a critical player on the Administration’s law and order team." Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche also threw his support behind the FBI Director, telling Fitzpatrick, "Patel has accomplished more in 14 months than the previous administration did in four years. Behind the scenes of a fragile regional peace, a series of blunt social media posts and urgent diplomatic calls have revealed deep tensions between the Trump administration and the Israeli government regarding the scope of the ceasefire in Lebanon.

2. IDF implements Gaza-style 'yellow line' in south Lebanon - i24NEWS
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Saturday that they have established a "Yellow Line" security perimeter across southern Lebanon to maintain operational control during the current 10-day ceasefire.
This tactical framework, modeled after the security zones in Gaza, designates specific captured territories as closed military zones, rendering 55 Lebanese villages strictly off-limits to returning residents to ensure the safety of Israeli forces.
Since the ceasefire began, IDF soldiers positioned south of the Yellow Line have identified multiple incidents in which terrorists violated ceasefire understandings. These individuals approached IDF positions from the north in a manner that posed an immediate threat to the troops.
In response, the Israeli Air Force and ground units conducted precise strikes to remove the threats. Artillery fire was also deployed to support ground troops, and infrastructure sites used to facilitate these attempted attacks were successfully destroyed.

3. Milei arrives in Israel amid war with Iran - JNS
Argentine President Javier Milei arrived in Israel on Sunday for his third visit in as many years, as bilateral ties between the two countries are at historic highs.
Milei, who will become the first foreign leader to light a torch at Israel’s official Independence Day event in Jerusalem this week, has repeatedly pledged to relocate his embassy to Jerusalem, and could make the move during his visit.
A Catholic who studied the Bible with a rabbi whom he appointed his ambassador, Milei has broken with decades of foreign policy by positioning himself with the United States and Israel, emerging as one of the most vocal supporters of the Jewish state around the globe.
His first official stop upon arrival will be the Western Wall in Jerusalem, followed by an evening meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom he has formed a close alliance.
The two leaders will announce the inauguration of direct flights between Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires on Israel’s flag carrier El Al starting this fall, as first reported by JNS.

4. Israel: Food filling markets in Gaza - JNS
Markets in the Gaza Strip are well stocked with food, even as Hamas continues to divert vital resources for terrorist purposes, Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT)—the Defense Ministry body overseeing civilian affairs in Judea, Samaria and Gaza—said over the weekend.
“Hamas wants you to see a collapse. The reality on the ground says otherwise. Food is filling the markets, enough for sustained amounts of time, medical centers are active, and aid is consistently exceeding international requirements,” said COGAT.
“The only real barrier? Hamas terror. They cynically steal vital resources to power terror networks instead of providing for their own people,” continued the statement. (Read more)

5. Israel hits 10.2 million as Independence Day nears - 7 Israel National News
Ahead of its 78th Independence Day, Israel's population stands at approximately 10,244,000, according to statistics the Central Bureau of Statistics published on Sunday.
According to the published statistics, 76% of the population is classified as Jews and "others," 21.1% are Arabs, and approxamatly 2.9% are foreigners. Since the previous Independence Day, the population grew by approximately 146,000 people, with 177,000 babies born over the past year and 21,000 new immigrants.
Israel is considered a very young country, with 27% of its population being children 14 and under, and only 13% being older than 65.
It also found that Israel's population continues to grow at a fast rate relative to the Western world, stemming from a combination of a high birth rate, aliyah, and long life expectancy.
Historically, since the foundation of the State of Israel, its population has grown more than 12-fold, with only 806,000 residents in 1948. Today, approxamatly 45% of the world's total Jewish population lives in Israel. (Read more)

1. Blue State Prosecutor Issues Arrest Warrant For ICE Agent- Daily Wire
A Minnesota prosecutor is seeking the arrest of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent.
It appears to be the first such case where local authorities have charged a federal immigration officer tied to President Donald Trump’s mass deportation campaign.
During a press conference Thursday, Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced that the ICE agent now faces two counts of second-degree assault after he allegedly flashed a gun while passing a driver on the highway. There is now a warrant out for his arrest.
The Minnesota State Patrol received a 911 call in February from the alleged victims, who said a driver pulled up next to them on the shoulder of a highway and pointed a gun at them, Moriarty said.
The ICE agent appeared to be trying “to bypass slower traffic” at the time, the county attorney claimed. The other driver “briefly moved their vehicle into the shoulder to slow him down,” she said.
Moriarty said that the federal agent “was driving a rented SUV with no markings or other features to indicate that it was an ICE vehicle.” When the victim moved out of the shoulder, the agent “pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle,” before he “visibly slowed his vehicle to match the pace of the victims’ vehicle, opened his window, and pointed his duty weapon directly at both victims in the other vehicle while continuing to drive illegally on the shoulder,” she said. 2. House Passes Measure to Extend Temporary Protected Status for Haitians - Presidential Prayer Team
The House of Representatives narrowly passed a resolution on Wednesday that would extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for natives of Haiti through January 2029. Lawsuits were filed against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after the agency announced the termination of TPS for Haitian nationals last year.
The Supreme Court agreed to hear cases regarding the elimination of TPS for both Haiti and Syria. The high court recently ruled that President Trump’s administration could eliminate TPS for approximately 300,000 Venezuelans residing in the United States.
In September 2025, when terminating Venezuelans’ TPS designation, DHS explained, “TPS was never meant to be a de facto asylum system.”
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated, “Unfortunately, TPS turns into a permanent status. We have people that [have] been here for 30 years, and then when we say we’re going to end protected status for you, they end up coming in and saying, well, wait a second, it’s inhumane because we’re married, we have family, we have kids here, we have grandkids here, and we work here, and now we’re going to send you back home. But it was never supposed to be permanent. And that’s the problem, is, that, when you start extending these programs, they become permanent.”
He added, “We have asylum laws here, and if you need asylum and you can prove that you have asylum, we’re pretty generous [with] that.” (Read more)

3: Virginia Dems Plot to Steal 4 House Seats in a Single Vote on April 21- IFApray
Ask any Virginian what day they’re most looking forward to this month, and they’ll probably say April 22. That’s when the constant barrage of political ads over the state’s redistricting measure will finally stop. For weeks, voters have been fed a steady diet of disinformation about the ballot initiative being decided next Tuesday, featuring everyone from Barack Obama to gray-haired veterans. It’s about “fairness,” the Left argues — if by “fairness,” they mean handing complete control of the Commonwealth to Democrats.
Of course, you can’t blame the party of Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger (D) for going all in on this amendment. Democrats may never have the chance to hijack four House seats in a single vote ever again. As far as they’re concerned, dumping $50 million into dishonest messaging is worth the price if it means silencing the state’s conservative, pro-life, pro-family voices in Washington, D.C. 4. Franklin Graham defends Trump in letter shared on Truth Social after AI ‘Jesus’ image backlash- Fox News
Rev. Franklin Graham defended President Donald Trump in a statement shared Thursday on Truth Social after backlash over an image critics said depicted Trump as Jesus Christ.
The statement was released Thursday by Graham and shared by the president as a signed letter.
"I do not believe President Trump would knowingly depict himself as Jesus Christ — that would certainly be inappropriate," Graham wrote.
He added that Trump believed the image showed "a doctor helping someone" and said the president "immediately removed the post" after concerns were raised.
"There were no spiritual references — no halo, there were no crosses, no angels," Graham wrote. "It was a flag, soldiers, a nurse, fighter planes, eagles. … I think this is a lot to do about nothing."
Graham also referenced a separate image Trump shared on Truth Social that appeared to show Jesus standing beside him with a hand on his shoulder, suggesting it represented guidance rather than self-depiction, and said critics were attempting to "spin this into something that it isn’t."
"And the illustration from someone else he reposted on Truth Social today, I must say that I like the fact that this is a picture of Jesus whispering in his ear or at least His hand on his shoulder, guiding him," Graham said. "We all need that — we all need to be listening to Jesus." (Read more)

Democrats are “affordability frauds” who would happily have handed the American people the largest tax hike in U.S. history, the Trump White House made clear this week, dismantling the narrative of Democrats who suddenly have a penchant for the issue of affordability.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday, April 15, otherwise known as the ever-dreaded “tax day,” that President Donald Trump and Republicans have saved Americans thousands of dollars, as promised.
“As we have seen this tax season, President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts have put a historic amount of money back into the pockets of the American people this year,” she said, flanked by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas issued a blistering critique of modern-day progressivism in a rare public speech on Wednesday, describing the modern political philosophy as a threat to America's founding principles.
Speaking to a packed auditorium of students and faculty at the University of Texas at Austin to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas, the Supreme Court's longest-serving justice, urged the nation to revisit the philosophical foundations of U.S. governance.
He said Wednesday that values embraced by the nation's founders have "fallen out of favor" in recent decades and urged younger generations to stand up for their principles.
"I think if we don’t stand up and take ownership of our country, and take responsibility for it, we are slowly letting others control how we think and what we think," he told the audience.
"Progressivism seeks to replace the basic premises of the Declaration of Independence, and hence our form of government," Thomas said Wednesday evening, drawing a direct line between contemporary political movements and what he described as a departure from the Constitution’s original meaning.
"It holds that our rights and our dignities come not from God, but from the government," Thomas said. "It requires of the people a subservience and weakness incompatible with a Constitution premised on the transcendent origin of our rights."
The conservative justice also lamented what he said was the growing prevalence of "cynicism, rejection, hostility and animus" in the U.S., and perpetuated "by Americans," and particularly, so-called "pragmatists" or self-described intellectuals. (Read more)

Congress Must Belong to America Alone

This bill should never have been necessary. From the founding of this republic, the expectation was crystal clear: those entrusted with making laws for the United States must owe their complete and undivided loyalty to America. The Constitution sets basic qualifications for service in Congress — a minimum age, a period of U.S. citizenship, and residency in the state represented — but it stops short of explicitly barring foreign citizenship. In an earlier era, when assimilation was expected, such a prohibition seemed unnecessary. Yet today, in a globalized world where anti-American sentiments and foreign influences have crept into the highest levels of government, that silence has become a dangerous loophole.
To address this growing concern head-on, Congressman Randy Fine (R-FL) has stepped forward with the Disqualifying Dual Loyalty Act (H.R. 5817). The legislation is straightforward and uncompromising: it prohibits any individual holding citizenship in a foreign country from serving in the United States Congress. Candidates for the House or Senate would be required to formally renounce all foreign citizenship before being elected. This measure reaffirms the sacred principle that Members of Congress — who vote on war and peace, national security, immigration policy, and the spending of trillions in taxpayer dollars — must swear allegiance to the United States and the United States alone. In the wake of President Donald Trump’s historic pledge to carry out a mass deportation program, a coalition of Republicans is promoting a bill to grant widespread amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, prompting fierce backlash from fellow congressional Republicans and the GOP base.

Missing general, scientist deaths tied to secret US work prompt White House probe

Susan Wilkerson was gone for just one hour when her husband, retired Air Force Maj. Gen. William "Neil" McCasland — who once oversaw some of the military’s most advanced and highly classified research programs — reportedly vanished from their Albuquerque home.
McCasland, 68, left his phone behind, but his wallet and a .38-caliber revolver were missing, according to the Bernalillo County, New Mexico, Sheriff’s Office.
The general previously had said he was experiencing what he described as a "mental fog," according to investigators, but authorities stressed there was no indication he was disoriented at the time of his disappearance.
"Arguably, he would still be the most intelligent person in the room," Albuquerque police Lt. Kyle Wood said March 16.
McCasland’s disappearance is one of 10 recent cases involving scientists tied to U.S. military and government research that have drawn attention, including at the White House, where officials said they are looking into the matter after being asked about a potential pattern.
