June is now ‘Nuclear Family Month’
|

|
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, R, signed a resolution on April 9 declaring June as “Nuclear Family Month,” positioning it as an alternative to LGBT “Pride Month.” House Joint Resolution 182 passed the state House in April 2025 and cleared the Senate last month.
The resolution states that “the nuclear family, consisting of one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children, is God’s design for familial structure and has been the bedrock of society since the creation of the world” and that “the nuclear family built the United States of America and created prosperity within our nation.”
It also highlights the social ills that result when the nuclear family is disrupted, noting that fatherless families are 4 times more likely to live in poverty, while children raised without fathers are 10 times more likely to experience drug or alcohol abuse and more likely to face mental health and behavioral challenges, with 60% of youth suicides involving children from fatherless homes.
“The nuclear family is under attack in our beloved State and nation, and it is our responsibility to uplift, protect, and support values that help Tennessee prosper,” the resolution states.
Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn, who is running for governor as Lee is term-limited and cannot run again, supports Lee’s efforts. “Bravo Tennessee. The nuclear family is under attack, and the Volunteer State is fighting back,” she posted to X.
Conservative commentator Robby Starbuck also celebrated the resolution, calling on other states to follow Tennessee’s example. “June is no longer Pride Month in Tennessee. With a stroke of the pen this week, June is now Nuclear Family Month in Tennessee. Trump: Shooter at White House press dinner had multiple weapons, one officer shot

A man armed with multiple weapons charged a security checkpoint at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night before being “taken down” by U.S. Secret Service agents, President Donald Trump said hours after he was evacuated from the event.
One officer was shot, but he was “saved by the fact that he was wearing obviously a very good bulletproof vest,” Trump told reporters during a press conference in the White House briefing room.
“I just spoke to the officer, and he’s doing great,” Trump said.
The suspected shooter was identified later Saturday as Cole Allen of Torrance, California, a former senior law enforcement official briefed on the matter told MS NOW. The suspect is 31 years old, the Associated Press reported, citing two law enforcement officials.
Trump was rushed off the stage of the Washington Hilton hotel ballroom seconds after the sounds of gunfire sent attendees diving under their tables.
He said he “fought like hell” to stay at the dinner, where he was set to speak for the first time as president, but that law enforcement had asked him and other administration officials to leave the premises.
Before the presser, Trump, via his Truth Social account, shared pictures apparently showing the alleged shooter after he was subdued, as well as security footage of the incident. Read more here

Father God, once again we thank You for sparing the life of our President, Donald
John Trump. We thank You, too, for the flawless work of the Secret Service, and other security officers, as they worked together to protect not only our President, but also our other elected officials and their wives.
Lord God, we repent that our nation is now so divided, and we ask that this event would mark a true turning point in our ational history -- one that would bring healing to our people. We ask for Your justice to be done for the shooter, Cole Allen, so that others would, indeed, think twice before they try this attempt again.
Thank You, Holy One for watching over our nation on this, our 250th anniversary of our founding. We offer this prayer in Jesus' mighty name, amen and amen.

Hegseth warns Iran laying mines violates cease-fire, won’t deny report it could take six months to clear the Strait of Hormuz
|
|
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Friday that Iran laying more mines in the Strait of Hormuz would violate the fragile cease-fire with the US.
“If there’s attempts to recklessly and irresponsibly lay more mines, we’re going to deal with that. It’s a violation of the cease-fire,” Hegseth told reporters at a briefing.
The US has carried out a weeks-long naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to counter Iran’s attempts to control shipping through the vital waterway.
“So transit is occurring much more limited than anybody would like to see, and with more risk that people would like to see, but that’s because Iran is doing irresponsible things with small, fast boats, crafts, like I said, with weapons on them,” Hegseth added.
Asked about a Washington Post report that the Pentagon has estimated to lawmakers it could take up to six months to fully sweep the Strait of Hormuz for Iranian-laid mines, Hegseth did not deny the assessment.
“We would not speculate on a timeline,” he said. “I saw that report. It was based on, again, another leak from a closed-door session, which was supposed to be classified. And apparently, allegedly, that was something that was said.”
“We feel confident in our ability, in the correct period of time, to clear any mines that we identify, and would encourage other countries to be a part of such an effort as well, but we’re tracking that very closely.” (Read more) Source: NY Post

Trump says Israel and Lebanon ceasefire will continue for another three weeks
|
|
President Donald Trump said Thursday that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will continue for another three weeks after a round of peace talks at the White House.
The initial 10-day ceasefire took place last week after the regional conflict in the Middle East continued through proxy groups in Israel and Lebanon. The United States, Israel and Iran are also in a ceasefire.
Trump said the ceasefire was extended following a meeting with Lebanese and Israeli officials, which he oversaw with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the U.S. ambassadors to Israel and Lebanon.
"The meeting went very well! The United States is going to work with Lebanon in order to help it protect itself from Hezbollah," Trump said on Truth Social. "The Ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended by three weeks.
"I look forward in the near future to hosting the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, and the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun," he continued. "It was a Great Honor to be a participant at this very historic meeting." (Read more) Source: JusttheNews

Trump Strikes Deal with Regeneron Marking 17th Major Pharmaceutical Deal Since Fall
|
|
President Donald Trump announced a deal to bring state Medicaid programs access to most-favored-nation pricing on new Regeneron drugs, marking the 17th deal he has struck with a major pharmaceutical company since the fall.
According to a White House fact sheet, the deal also ensures that other countries cannot “use price controls to freeride on American innovation by guaranteeing MFN prices on all new innovative medicines Regeneron brings to market.”
“The agreement requires Regeneron to repatriate increased foreign revenue on existing products that Regeneron realizes as a result of the President’s strong America First U.S. trade policies for the benefit of American patients,” the White House adds.
Under the agreement, the price of Regeneron’s Praluent, a cholesterol medicine, will drop to $225 from $537 when purchased through the TrumpRx website, according to the administration.

Teens Arrested Over Plot To ‘Kill As Many Jews As Possible’ In Major Synagogue Attack
|
|
Two teenagers, including an 18-year-old girl, were arrested earlier this week and charged with plotting a major attack on one of the largest Jewish synagogues in Houston.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Angelina Han Hicks of Lexington, North Carolina, on Wednesday and accused her of planning to “kill as many Jews as possible” in an attack on Congregation Beth Israel in Houston, the Associated Press reported. Hicks is accused of plotting the attack alongside two “male subjects.” The conspirators planned to murder Jewish worshipers by driving a vehicle through the synagogue on April 21, 2028, according to court documents.
It appears that one of the other alleged co-conspirators was also arrested earlier this week. The Houston Police Department announced on Thursday that a 16-year-old was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder in relation to “a threat directed towards certain Jewish institutions in our area.”
The Houston Police did not say the 16-year-old was arrested for a planned attack on Congregation Beth Israel specifically, but authorities in Texas’ largest city said they learned about the threat on the same day Hicks was taken into custody in North Carolina. 1. Netanyahu orders attacks on Hezbollah after truce violations - JNS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israel Defense Forces to “vigorously” attack the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist group, his office announced on Saturday night.
The announcement followed the launch of several rockets and UAVs from Lebanon toward northern Israeli communities earlier in the day, in violation of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire with Beirut.
The IDF announced the interception of one rocket after air-raid sirens were activated in Kibbutz Manara, Kibbutz Misgav Am and Moshav Margaliot on Saturday afternoon. A second rocket struck in an open area in the north, it said. “There are no casualties; this is a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Hezbollah terrorist organization,” the military stated.
Approximately an hour later, alerts were activated in several areas in the north due to a drone infiltration.
“The air force successfully intercepted a suspicious aerial target launched from the direction of Lebanon into Israeli territory. Contact was lost with another suspicious aerial target,” the IDF announced. (Read more)

2. Restrictions tightened along Confrontation Line | IDF braces for escalation in the north - Israel National News
Israel’s defense establishment is concerned about further escalation along the northern border. On Sunday evening, following a situational assessment, the Home Front Command updated the defensive guidelines, restricting gatherings to up to 1,500 people in the Confrontation Line area, as well as in the communities of Meron, Bar Yohai, Or HaGanuz, and Safsufa.
All other defensive guidelines remain unchanged.
Earlier in the evening, Lebanese media reported a wave of Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon. Prior to that, reports said the Israeli Air Force had struck Hezbollah targets in several villages in the area.
Meanwhile, the Forum of Heads of Local Authorities in the Confrontational Line announced a dramatic decision to suspend activity in educational institutions and transportation services in communities under threat of rocket fire. (Read more)

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has introduced cutting-edge battlefield technology while fighting Hezbollah over the past several weeks, deploying fleets of explosive robots and game-changing artillery to accelerate the destruction of the Iran-backed group’s terrorist infrastructure across southern Lebanon.

President Isaac Herzog on Sunday rebuffed, at least temporarily, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s request for a pardon regarding the corruption charges for which he is on trial, saying that he would instead push for fresh talks to try and mediate a plea deal between the premier and the Attorney General.
Herzog’s statement came after a report in The New York Times said the president would seek mediation because he believes his job is to foster unity in Israel. Netanyahu’s trial on charges of bribery and fraud and breach of trust, which began in 2020, has divided the country along political lines. Herzog reportedly feels that those tensions have been exacerbated by Israel’s recent wars and this year’s election, which is due to take place in six months.
Herzog’s statement on Sunday confirmed that he wouldn’t be issuing a pardon to the prime minister at this point. (Read more)

Addressing reporters in the coastal city of Herzliya several hours later, Bennett called joining with Lapid the “most Zionist and patriotic act we have ever done, for the sake of our country” and declared that “the era of division is over.”

Retired Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino has added his voice to the list of those left seething after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said no one respects Border Patrol and ICE in this country during a late-night debate on a Department of Homeland Security funding package. Bovino told Breitbart Texas the comment epitomizes what the Democrat party stands for.
Schumer made the comment in opposition to a Senate Republican move to fund DHS and end the government shutdown. “America is crying out for relief from high costs, and you’re here adding $140 billion to an agency that nobody — two groups — Border Patrol and ICE, that nobody respects in this country,” Schumer exclaimed during the Wednesday night session.
Bovino says he was shocked to hear the longest-serving New York senator say the quiet part out loud, adding, “Schumer encapsulates the left and aligns perfectly with the radicals that we have watched assaulting our federal agents daily as they try to enforce the laws that Congress has passed. He’s no different than the rioter throwing a brick at us, and he let everyone know that with this statement.”
Bovino, who retired in late March, led the historic large-scale interior immigration operations in several major metropolitan areas across the United States. The veteran immigration enforcement chief says he never experienced a time during his three-decade career when one political party vehemently opposed law enforcement.
“Sadly, this sentiment is not just carried by Chuck Schumer. He is the party leader and speaks for nearly every Democrat,” Bovino added. “We saw it at the city and state level when we were met with violent opposition to what we were doing to reduce crime in sanctuary cities across the country.”
The retired El Centro Sector chief fears the dangerous rhetoric will only add to the risks Border Patrol and ICE agents face daily as they carry out their duties enforcing U.S. immigration laws. “Chuck Schumer’s words resonate with radicals on the street who are looking for approval to increase attacks on the men and women of the Border Patrol and ICE,” Bovino emphasized. The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced Thursday that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will revise Form 990 to increase transparency and curb misconduct within tax-exempt organizations. The move specifically targets fiscal sponsorship arrangements, government grants, and contracts—mechanisms critics argue have been exploited by “dark money” networks to operate without public scrutiny.
“We are ending the days of hiding fraud, abuse, and extremist activity behind complicated nonprofit arrangements,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. He warned that directors and officers of organizations misusing charitable structures would face increased “scrutiny, accountability, and liability under the law.”

A Republican lawmaker is proposing to return Arlington and Alexandria to Washington, D.C., a move aimed at countering Democrats’ newly strengthened grip on Virginia’s congressional map following this week’s redistricting vote.
The "Make D.C. Square Again Act" from Rep. Rich McCormick, R-Ga., comes after voters approved Virginia’s new Democratic-backed map positioning the party to expand its congressional seat advantage by linking blue Northern Virginia suburbs with more rural districts — a shift Republicans warn could dilute GOP strength statewide.

4. Over a dozen Dems demand Trump admin protect Iranians living in the US - Fox News
More than a dozen Democratic lawmakers have signed onto a letter urging President Donald Trump's administration to protect Iranians living in the U.S. who could not safely return to Iran. "We write to urge the Trump administration to immediately institute protections for Iranian nationals currently in the United States who cannot return home safely," the letter states.
"The Administration must not forcibly return Iranian families in the United States to Iran — where they face the dual threat of the regime’s humanitarian abuses and dangers a resumption of the war poses — and should therefore pause deportation flights and designate Iranians for temporary protection, such as Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED)," it continues.
The letter accuses the Trump administration of launching "attacks on Iran unlawfully, without the constitutionally required congressional authorization, plunging millions of innocent civilians into a state of insecurity, with the human cost of the conflict mounting daily."
"Having initiated the current war with Iran, the Trump administration bears a moral and humanitarian responsibility to provide Iranian nationals with an immediate shield from removal," the message asserts. "The Administration should also provide assistance to Iranians in the United States while they are unable to return home, by resuming the processing of immigration benefits and expediting the issuance of work authorization documents," the letter states. The U.S. Democratic Party is about to face a political reality that could complicate its path to reclaiming the Senate in 2026: some candidates' rhetoric on Israel is now drawing serious accusations of antisemitism, even from within their own party.
In two key Senate battlegrounds, Maine and Michigan, progressive candidates are not only surviving controversy – they’re actually gaining traction. It raises a deeper question: Is the Democratic base shifting in a way that could ultimately hurt the party in general elections?
Let’s start in Michigan, where Abdul El-Sayed has emerged as a top-tier contender in the Democratic Senate Primary Race. The Department of Justice on Friday directed the Bureau of Prisons to expand death penalty protocols to include pentobarbital injections and firing squads as part of broader actions to strengthen the federal death penalty.
"Today, the Department of Justice acted to restore its solemn duty to seek, obtain, and implement lawful capital sentences — clearing the way for the Department to carry out executions once death-sentenced inmates have exhausted their appeals," the DOJ memo obtained by Fox News read.
"Among the actions taken are readopting the lethal injection protocol utilized during the first Trump Administration, expanding the protocol to include additional manners of execution such as the firing squad, and streamlining internal processes to expedite death penalty cases," the memo read. President Donald Trump cancelled negotiations with Iran at the last minute on Saturday.
U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — Trump’s son-in-law who played a key role in various historic diplomatic measures such as the Abraham Accords and the Hamas-Israel hostage negotiations — were set to travel to Islamabad, Pakistan, over the weekend for a second round of talks with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Trump then told Fox News he had canceled the trip, telling his representatives that “you’re not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing.”
“I’ve told my people a little while ago they were getting ready to leave, and I said, ‘Nope, you’re not making an 18 hour flight to go there. We have all the cards. They can call us anytime they want,’” Trump said.
It was reported earlier that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, after briefly meeting with the host country’s prime minister, had already departed Islamabad.

Firefighters brace for 'dynamic' changes as Georgia wildfires continue to spread

Fire safety officials warned Georgia residents to be cautious and ready for evacuations as the wildfires gripping the state rage on, with changing weather conditions affecting containment.
The two wildfires in Highway 82 Fire in Brantley County, and the Pinelands Road Fire in nearby Clinch County, cover a combined 36,000 acres in the southeastern part of the state, according to data as of Friday morning, according to the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC).
Brantley County Manager Jason Cason said in an update Friday morning that the Brantley County fire, which has engulfed 5,000 acres, is 15% contained but "dynamic" due to wind conditions.
"It could move the fire in a different direction than it did late yesterday afternoon," he said. "If you saw anything yesterday, that containment can move anywhere from 15% to 0% with the wind," Cason added.
The Clinch County fire was 10% contained as of Friday morning, according to the GFC.
The Brantley County Sheriff's office said Friday that "59 fire departments from across the state [are] working specifically on structure protection efforts as well as 20 dozers and 8 type 6 engines."

Schumer made the comment in opposition to a Senate Republican move to fund DHS and end the government shutdown. “America is crying out for relief from high costs, and you’re here adding $140 billion to an agency that nobody — two groups — Border Patrol and ICE, that nobody respects in this country,” Schumer exclaimed during the Wednesday night session.
Bovino says he was shocked to hear the longest-serving New York senator say the quiet part out loud, adding, “Schumer encapsulates the left and aligns perfectly with the radicals that we have watched assaulting our federal agents daily as they try to enforce the laws that Congress has passed. He’s no different than the rioter throwing a brick at us, and he let everyone know that with this statement.”
Bovino, who retired in late March, led the historic large-scale interior immigration operations in several major metropolitan areas across the United States. The veteran immigration enforcement chief says he never experienced a time during his three-decade career when one political party vehemently opposed law enforcement.
“Sadly, this sentiment is not just carried by Chuck Schumer. He is the party leader and speaks for nearly every Democrat,” Bovino added. “We saw it at the city and state level when we were met with violent opposition to what we were doing to reduce crime in sanctuary cities across the country.”
The retired El Centro Sector chief fears the dangerous rhetoric will only add to the risks Border Patrol and ICE agents face daily as they carry out their duties enforcing U.S. immigration laws. “Chuck Schumer’s words resonate with radicals on the street who are looking for approval to increase attacks on the men and women of the Border Patrol and ICE,” Bovino emphasized. “We are ending the days of hiding fraud, abuse, and extremist activity behind complicated nonprofit arrangements,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Long-lost soldier's grave discovered at remote US national park after 150 years

Pvt George Tupper died of yellow fever in 1873, was buried inside fort due to hurricane — new discovery 'allows us to honor him'

Officials at a Florida national park have identified the burial site of a 19th-century Army private — the only known service member buried within a historic fort's walls.
In a March 31 statement, the National Park Service (NPS) announced that its archaeologists found the resting place of Pvt. George Tupper at Fort Jefferson in Dry Tortugas National Park — about 70 miles west of Key West.
The excavation took place in June 2024 during site surveys for a planned radio tower, though officials did not announce the discovery until just recently.
Tupper died of yellow fever on Oct. 6, 1873, during an outbreak that killed multiple people at the fort. He was 22 years old.
Tupper appears to have been buried inside the fort because an approaching hurricane prevented transport to the post cemetery, where others were typically interred.
Historical records state that Tupper was buried in a "lime pit, near the parade, being the only remains buried within the fort limits."
Excavators did not find his remains, as they believe he was exhumed and reinterred at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
Archaeologists used ground-penetrating radar in compliance with federal regulations requiring agencies to consider impacts on historic properties, the announcement added. (Fox News) Read More
