"Decreeing the Word of God Over the News of the Day"

United We Stand                      Tuesday, April 29, 2025
This week America will observe the National Day of Prayer - honored on Thursday, May 1st. The NDP was birthed in on May 5, 1988, when President Ronald Reagan signed into law Public Law 100-307 the designation of the first Thursday in May as the annual observance for the National Day of Prayer.

Here are the exact words of that bill:

"The President shall set aside and proclaim the First Thursday in May in each year, as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals."

From the first year of this event, when a handful of citizens joined in the Russell Senate Office Building to observe this day, there are now over 110 million citizens that honor the National Day of Prayer in all 50 states! In addition to events planned in the various state
capitals, many other observances will be held in towns across the nation. To find an event planned for your state or city, please go here.

Today we salute Kathy Branzell, this year's President of the NDP Task Force, as well as her faithful team on her staff and the other National Area Leaders who provide leadership in all 50 states and territories to bring all of us many opportunities to observe the National Day of Prayer.

Huckabee Places Trump’s Prayer at Sacred Site
Newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee commenced his diplomatic tenure with a symbolic gesture: He placed a handwritten prayer from President Donald Trump into Jerusalem’s Western Wall. The note, inscribed with “For Peace in Israel” and signed “D.T.,” was delivered on April 18, fulfilling Trump’s directive for Huckabee’s inaugural act as ambassador.

Huckabee shared, “What an honor it is for me to come on behalf of the president of the United States, President Donald Trump, and to present a prayer that he handwrote, gave to me last Thursday at the White House, with the instruction that my first act as ambassador would be to take his prayer — praying for the peace of Jerusalem — and to bring it to the wall, and to pray that there would in fact be, peace in the land.”

Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and evangelical pastor, has been a longstanding advocate for Israel, having visited the nation over 100 times. His appointment underscores the Trump administration’s commitment to strengthening U.S.-Israel relations. (Charisma News) Watch Video
- Father, we are grateful for U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee and his love for the Jewish people. Bless his steps as he confirms United State's unwavering commitment for support towards Israel. We celebrate the opportunity of placing Presidents Trump's 'prayer for peace' inside the crevice of Jerusalem's Western Wall and are convinced that El Roi- 'The God Who Sees' will come to Israel's rescue as we stand in unity with God's people around the world for the PEACE of Jerusalem! By the Blood and Powerful Name of Yeshua- Amen.

- "Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, 'May you have peace'. For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem." (Psalm 122-6-9)

Iranian Port Explosion Kills 5, Injures More Than 700

Chinese chemicals intended to provide fuel for Iran’s ballistic missile program are suspected to be the cause of the explosion at the Shahid Rajaei port.

A massive explosion at a port in Iran has killed at least five people and injured more than 700 others.

The explosion at the Shahid Rajaei port on the Strait of Hormuz rocked the industrial area surrounding the facility on April 26 and sent large plumes of reddish-black smoke billowing into the sky.

The blast shattered windows within a wide radius and was heard on an island 16 miles south of the port, Iranian media said.

Leadership in Tehran has not yet offered an explanation for what caused the blast at the port, which is just outside of Bandar Abbas, but said that the explosion was not linked to the nation’s oil industry.

Mehrdad Hasanzadeh, a provincial disaster management official, told Iranian state media that emergency services were trying to reach the area while others were attempting to evacuate the site.

Hossein Zafari, a spokesperson for Iran’s crisis management organization, linked the explosion to poor storage conditions of chemicals that were in some of the port’s containers.

It remains unclear what precisely triggered the explosion. However, the port was slated to receive two shipments of a component used in rocket fuel from China in recent months, first reported in January by the Financial Times.

The shipments each carried roughly 1,000 tons of sodium perchlorate, a component used to create fuel for Iran’s ballistic missiles, according to a policy brief published in February by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington-based think tank. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God we pray over all those who have been victims of this tragedy that you would heal their hurts and trauma in Jesus' name. We pray, Lord, that the cause of this explosion would be fully investigated, and be found in Jesus' name, amen.

- “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

Nearly 800 Illegal Immigrants Arrested in Florida in 4 Days, ICE Says

ICE said its agents partnered with local law enforcement in Florida in an illegal immigration sweep dubbed Operation Tidal Wave.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, working in conjunction with local law enforcement in Florida, have arrested nearly 800 illegal immigrants across the state in the past four days, the agency announced on April 26.

While ICE has routinely conducted immigration enforcement operations throughout the United States, the agency referred to Florida’s effort, dubbed Operation Tidal Wave, as a “first-of-its-kind” effort pairing federal immigration authorities with state and local law enforcement resources.

In their April 26 press statement, ICE pitched other law enforcement agencies on the idea of working with the agency, linking to a page promoting the 287(g) program.

The 287(g) program grants local law enforcement agencies access to ICE resources and provides them with funding for immigration enforcement training. Participating law enforcement agencies may then identify and process removable illegal immigrants already booked in their jails and detention facilities, conduct some limited federal immigration functions during their routine police duties, and join ICE agents in serving arrest warrants.

“This is a warning to all criminal illegal aliens: We’re coming for you,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem wrote in a post on social media platform X on April 26, coinciding with the arrest operations.

“[Department of Homeland Security], ICE, and our state partners will hunt you down, arrest, and deport you. That’s a promise.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God we lift all ICE officials to you and all those working tirelessly to protect us at our borders that you would give them supernatural wisdom and strength to perform the tasks that need to be done. We draw a bloodline around our borders, that no harm or evil can harm this country in Jesus' name, amen.

Trump kicks off whirlwind week marking his 100th day back in the Oval Office

President Donald Trump's 15th week in office will include his 100th day back in the White House, which he will celebrate by hosting a rally in Michigan – the last state he campaigned in before polls opened on Election Day of last year.

"President Trump is excited to return to the great state of Michigan next Tuesday, where he will rally in Macomb County to celebrate the FIRST 100 DAYS!" White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in an X post announcing the rally.

Trump's presidential campaigns in 2016, 2020 and 2024 all ended with rallies in the battleground state of Michigan. Trump's visit to Macomb County this week follows his final 2024 campaign rally in Grand Rapids, where he joined the crowds just after midnight in the final hours before his victory over then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

The event is billed as a celebration of Trump's "LEGENDARY start to his presidency," according to the Republican National Committee's website. The rally will be held at Macomb Community College in Warren and will kick off at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday. (Fox News) Read more here.

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Official: Israel won’t accept 5-year Gaza truce, Qatar not helping hostage talks of late - Times of Israel

An Israeli official says that the Qataris have “recently had an influence that was not positive on negotiations” to free hostages from Gaza.

An Arab official yesterday denied Hebrew media reports that Qatar had urged Hamas to reject a recent Egyptian proposal for a hostage-ceasefire deal amid the terror group’s ongoing war with Israel in the Gaza Strip. The source claimed that the reports are being “manufactured” by Israeli officials seeking to deflect blame for the failure of the talks away from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The official says there is “no chance” Israel will agree to the five-year ceasefire plan that Arab mediators are discussing. “There is no chance that we will agree to a hudna with Hamas that just allows it to rearm, recover and to continue its war against Israel.”

2. Col. Richard Kemp: Hamas is on the back foot, the IDF is making mincemeat of it - Israel National News

Colonel Richard Kemp, former commander of British military forces in Afghanistan, spoke to Arutz Sheva-Israel National News on the sidelines of the JNS International Policy Summit held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Jerusalem.

Asked on the current situation in terms of Israel’s war against Hamas, Col. Kemp replied, “I think Hamas is now feeling a significant amount of the weight of the IDF on it, and the only reason it's not feeling even more is because the IDF has to be cautious about the hostages. But at the same time, they're making mincemeat of Hamas.”

“Most of Hamas's most senior leadership has been destroyed, huge numbers of their terrorists have been destroyed, a lot of their equipment, so I think they're very much on the back foot, and I would hope that Hamas will be completely eliminated as a fighting organization within perhaps a few weeks,” he added. 3. ‘Saudi Arabia seeks end to Gaza war as pathway to Israel ties’ - JNS

Saudi Arabia needs the war against Hamas in Gaza to conclude—and some framework for a Palestinian state to be articulated, however unrealistic—before it can finalize a normalization deal with Israel, the chairman of a nonprofit promoting Israeli-Arab diplomacy said on Sunday.

“When Saudi Arabia signs a normalization deal with Israel, that will mark the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict in the Middle East,” said Dan Feferman, chairman of Sharaka, speaking at the JNS International Policy Summit in Jerusalem. “At least a dozen other Arab countries will follow.”

Feferman cautioned, however, that Riyadh, as the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites, cannot be seen as abandoning the Palestinian cause—even if Saudi leadership acknowledges that a two-state solution may no longer be realistic.

On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump said that the kingdom may very well join the four Arab countries that signed  the Abraham Accords with Jerusalem during his first term. (Read more)

4. Ronen Bar to step down as Shin Bet Chief - Israel Hayom

Ronen Bar, the head of the Shin Bet security agency, announced Monday evening that he will step down from his position. The surprising announcement was made during a memorial ceremony at the agency's headquarters for Shin Bet personnel who died in the line of duty. Bar said he would leave office on June 15, 2025, after 35 years of service.

"After years of serving on many fronts, the sky fell in one night on the southern front. All systems collapsed. The Shin Bet also failed to provide a warning," Bar said in his speech. "As the head of the organization, I took responsibility for that—and tonight, on this evening of remembrance, heroism, and sacrifice, I chose to announce that I will see that responsibility through and conclude my service."

Bar also addressed the collective responsibility of Israel's security leadership: "Given the magnitude of the event, all of us who chose public service and the defense of the state's security as our life mission, and who failed to provide a protective shield on that day, must bow our heads humbly before the murdered, the fallen, the wounded, the abducted, and their families, and act accordingly. All of us." (Read more)

5. Army chief slams Haredi anti-draft protesters: ‘In a multifront war, the IDF needs everyone’- Times of Israel

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir condemns the clashes that broke out at recruitment offices earlier today during the enlistment of Haredi men.

Ultra-Orthodox protesters blocked roads and harassed conscripts who arrived at the induction centers today.

“At the start of a week that symbolizes the memory of Israel’s fallen soldiers and the importance of our independence as one united people, I view the actions of a group of extremists with great severity,” Zamir says.

He emphasizes that the IDF values the enlistment of Haredi recruits and is preparing to integrate them in a way that respects the unique needs of their community. (Read more)

1. Trump admin considers exempting Christians from its push to deport some Afghan refugees - POLITICO

Trump administration officials have discussed allowing some Afghan refugees to remain in the United States, days after a group of potentially vulnerable migrants from the war-torn country received emails from Customs and Border Protection revoking their humanitarian parole status, according to two administration officials familiar with the conversations.

The policy discussions come as prominent Christian leaders and nonprofit organizations have pressed the White House to protect what they say is a group of hundreds of at-risk Christian Afghan refugees — still a fraction of the thousands potentially facing deportation in the months ahead. The leaders argued they could face persecution if returned to Afghanistan, which has reverted to Taliban control after the U.S. withdrawal in 2021 — agreed to by President Donald Trump in his first term and executed by President Joe Biden. - We pray favor upon exempting these Christian Afghan refugees that could face persecution if sent back to their country.

2. Trump: Israel won’t drag us into war with Iran, but we’ll lead the pack if no deal made - Times of Israel

US President Donald Trump said he would not be dragged by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into war with Iran, but vowed Washington could instead “be leading the pack” if diplomacy were to fail and joint US-Israeli military action is necessary to thwart Tehran’s nuclear program.

The US president, who reiterated his hope that the issue could be resolved through negotiations, also expressed openness to meeting with the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader or president.

Trump made the comments on Monday in a wide-ranging Time Magazine interview published Friday, a day before his special envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi were set to arrive in Oman for the third round of nuclear talks in as many weeks.

During the interview, Trump predicted Saudi Arabia would “very quickly” normalize relations with Israel, and blamed Gaza’s recent death toll on his predecessor Joe Biden because “he took off all the sanctions” on Iran, enabling it to finance the Palestinian terror group Hamas. (Read more)

- Lord, we do pray that this issue with Iran can be resolved through negotiations and not war.

- "Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace." (Luke 14:31-32)

3. Iran in focus as CENTCOM Chief arrives in Israel for urgent visit - Israel Hayom

Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Thursday afternoon for another brief visit. Kurilla, who is highly respected by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and senior commanders in IDF, will remain in the country for approximately 36 hours.

The prevailing assumption is that his visit will center on planning for a potential military strike on the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as on countermeasures to defend against any Iranian response, should Trump decide to implement the military option. Kurilla is known for his aggressive stance toward Iran and is considered a firm believer that a substantial blow can be dealt to its nuclear infrastructure.

During his tenure as CENTCOM commander, Kurilla significantly enhanced Israel's integration into the US military's regional framework. He also played a key role in building and operationalizing the regional defense network for Israel, which was used in real time during two Iranian missile attacks on the country amidst the ongoing war. His current visit also comes against the backdrop of an unprecedented scale of American military aid and weapons transfers to Israel. (Read more)

- We pray for this urgent meeting in Israel from the CENTCOM Chief. Give them wisdom as they make plans regarding Iran.

4. Protesters chant after arrest of judge accused of helping man evade immigration authorities - AP

On Saturday, protesters chanted “Immigrants are here to stay” and held up signs saying, “Liberty and Justice for All” outside the FBI’s Milwaukee division.

“The judiciary acts as a check to unchecked executive power. And functioning democracies do not lock up judges,” Democratic state Rep. Ryan Clancy told the crowd before it marched around the area.

Dugan was taken into custody by the FBI on Friday morning on the courthouse grounds, according to U.S. Marshals Service spokesperson Brady McCarron. She appeared briefly in federal court in Milwaukee later Friday before being released from custody. She faces charges of “concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest” and obstructing or impeding a proceeding. (Read more)

5. ‘A lifeline for families,’ Texas legislature passes universal school-choice bill - JNS.org

A week after the Texas state House passed a universal school choice bill by a vote of 86 to 61, the state Senate voted 19 to 12 in favor of SB 2, which would create a $1 billion education savings account program that families could use for private school education and certain associated costs.

Rabbi Ari Weisenfeld, national director of state relations at Agudath Israel of America, told JNS the state’s decision “is more than a legislative victory.”

“It’s a lifeline for families who have prayed for the chance to give their children a brighter future,” Weisenfeld said. “It’s a historic day for our parents and students in Texas, and we thank all the lawmakers and advocates that help make it happen.”

The bill now heads to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who has said he will sign it. “Thanks to the dedication of our lawmakers, Texas families will soon have education freedom,” the governor stated on Thursday. “This is historic school choice legislation.”  (Read more)

The suspect accused of stealing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s Gucci handbag containing $3,000 in cash and other personal belongings was arrested on Saturday in Washington, D.C., according to reports.

The Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service caught the suspect, the New York Post reported. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect in connection with the incident.

The two are both in the U.S. without authorization and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is now involved in the case, Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin told NBC 4. Martin said there is no indication Noem was targeted for her role at DHS.

7. Biden relegated to back of world leaders section at pope's funeral - Fox News

Former President Joe Biden was among many global luminaries in attendance at Pope Francis' funeral Saturday at the Vatican, but no longer being the leader of the free world changes everything.

Biden was accompanied by his wife, former first lady Jill Biden, but they were not seated near President Donald Trump and other world leaders. The couple instead sat toward the back of the foreign dignitaries section because they are no longer heads of state.

Biden was also seen being escorted to his seat by his wife and a priest, gripping onto both and moving cautiously.

Once in his seating area, Biden took selfies with Uganda Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa before the pope's funeral began. (Read more)

The Difference Between Strange Fire
and Obedience

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, April 28. 2025

Have you ever seen someone passionately take on something that they say God has ordained, only to see it essentially go down in flames? Leviticus 9:1–11:47 informs us that not all well-intended passion aligns with God’s. Chapter 9 begins in celebration and ends in sobering reflection. After seven days of preparation, Aaron and his sons were finally stepping into their divine roles as priests of Israel. But what should have been a joyful climax to the holy week, turned to tragedy when Aaron’s two older sons, Nadav and Avihu, acting on their own initiative, offered incense in the Holy of Holies. They offered what scripture calls “unauthorized fire” before the Lord—and were consumed by His fire in response.

The Hebrew phrase used, esh zarah, is loaded with meaning. Many sages interpret it as a symbol of misguided passion—intense, but misaligned with God’s command. Others believe the brothers were under the influence of wine, confusing emotional fervor with spiritual purity. They might have thought that wine had a sanctifying effect, as wine was offered with most sacrifices as a libation poured out on the altar. It was never drank like the pagans did. It wasn’t Nadav’s and Avihu’s place to determine how God should be approached. And in this holy space, presumption proved deadly. The unauthorized or “strange fire” was illicit passion brought on by an artificial means. In other words, the brothers had been drinking wine before their service. Read More

Large parts of Spain, Portugal struck by massive power outage
Videos show travel chaos erupting in Spain and Portugal during power outage
Power restored to half of Spain as travel decimated and authorities still investigating cause

Spain’s Interior Ministry declared a state of emergency after a massive power outage hit Spain and Portugal on Monday, knocking out traffic lights and forcing the evacuation of subway systems in both countries, among other disruptions.

About half of Spain has seen power restored, while full restoration is expected to occur sometime Tuesday.

A graph on Spain’s electricity network website that shows power demand across the country indicated a steep drop at around 12:15 p.m. local time, from 27,500 megawatts to near 15,000, according to the Associated Press.

"Due to extreme temperature variations in the interior of Spain, there were anomalous oscillations in the very high-voltage lines, a phenomenon known as induced atmospheric vibration," REN, Portugal's grid operator, was quoted as saying. "These oscillations caused synchronization failures between the electrical systems, leading to successive disturbances across the interconnected European network."

REN reportedly described the incident as a "rare atmospheric phenomenon." The Portuguese National Cybersecurity Center issued a statement saying there was no sign the outage was due to a cyberattack.

Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez later said a problem in the European grid that he described as a "strong oscillation" was behind the outage, but that the cause was still being determined. Spanish power distributor Red Eléctrica said that restoring power fully to the country and neighboring Portugal could take 6-10 hours.

"Red Eléctrica is working to determine the cause of this power outage and resolve the problem as soon as possible," the Prime Minister said in a post on X. "Spain has mechanisms to deal with these types of situations. Once again, I appeal to the public to cooperate with all authorities and act responsibly and civilly, as we have always done." (Fox News) Read more here.

- Father God, we thank You that, even though this power outage has caused a massive disruption in Spain, Portugal and parts of France, apparently no one has been hurt and no lives have been taken as a result of this disaster. We continue to lift up all those in authority in all three nations as they seek to identify the cause of this situation, so that it will never happen again. Thank You, Holy One, for Your hand of protection that rests upon all of us, day by day.

- “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” (Psalm 68:19)
Trump: Willing to ‘lead the pack’ in strike against Iran

If the negotiations on a deal to dismantle Tehran’s nuclear program fail, the United States will lead an attack against it, President Donald Trump said on Friday.

“It’s possible we’ll have to attack, because Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” the president told Time magazine in an interview conducted last week and published on Friday, marking his first 100 days in office.

Asked by the interviewer whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might drag the U.S. into war with the Islamic Republic, Trump said, “he may go into a war. But we’re not getting dragged in. … You asked if he’d drag me in, like I’d go in unwillingly. No, I may go in very willingly if we can’t get a deal. If we don’t make a deal, I’ll be leading the pack.”

Trump went on to dismiss reports that his administration stopped Israel from attacking Iran.

“I didn’t stop them. But I didn’t make it comfortable for them, because I think we can make a deal without the attack. I hope we can … Ultimately, I was going to leave [the choice to attack to Israel], but I said I would much prefer a deal than bombs being dropped.”

The president further remarked that he would be open to meeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in person. (JNS.org) Read more here.

- Father God, even as You gave King David Your wisdom when dealing with his own deadly enemies, so have You now done with our own "king," Donald John Trump. As we continue to pray for our President, we trust that He is receiving Your guidance as he now deals with a treacherous enemy, the nation of Iran. In Your Name, Holy One, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths."

(Proverbs 3:5,6)
DECLARATION OVER THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM
By Barbara L. Potts
O, Lord, You are our Judge, our Lawgiver and our King (Isaiah 33:22). You set up governments and rulers (Romans 13:1), and You founded the government of the United States as “one nation under God.” In the authority and power of Jesus’ name, we rebuke the adversary who has been attempting to destroy our righteous foundation through our court system and the rule of law. We declare that every plan and scheme of the devil to divert and dismantle God’s model for the United States Judiciary is null and void. We call every judge in this nation to salvation and submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We call every judge, from the highest court in our land to the lowest precinct, to come into alignment with the purposes and the laws of God. We call judges to fulfill their constitutional roles of upholding justice through interpreting the law and not legislating it. We call each judge to make rulings according to God’s justice and Word of Truth.

We call upon You, our Righteous Judge (2 Timothy 4:8), to abolish judicial tyranny from our land! We declare justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumbline (Isaiah 28:17) over this nation. We call the 7-fold Spirit of God to give every judge a Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might and knowledge. May the fear of the Lord be their delight, so they will not judge by the sight of their eyes, nor the hearing of their ears, but with righteousness and equity (Isaiah 11:2-4).

O Master of Breakthroughs (2 Samuel 5:19), breakthrough the filibustering spirit and any other hindrances that are preventing any righteous judges from being confirmed into their God-appointed positions. In the authority of Jesus Christ, we crush, smash and destroy the spiritual strongholds that are preventing God’s will and purposes from going forth through our Justice system, and that are denying or threatening the integrity of the U.S. Constitution. I rebuke, bind and cast out every spirit of witchcraft (intimidation and control), obstruction, destruction, lawlessness, division, perversion and murder. And we declare that their assignment against the Judicial System of the United States is canceled, in Jesus’ name, and by the power of His shed Blood. Sovereign Lord, “the heavens are Yours, (and) the earth also … . You have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand and high is Your right hand. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne” (Psalm 89:11 and 13-14). Establish the dominion of Your throne over our courts, our lives and our wayward nation, in Jesus’ name and for His glory!

Standing with you to see HIS KINGDOM COME AND HIS WILL BE DONE!

💗Barbara

Archaeology breakthrough as 500-year-old medieval shipwreck found - 'Very important discovery!'

Archaeologists in Barcelona have unearthed a remarkable 500-year-old medieval ship during excavation work for a new biomedicine centre.

The vessel, called Ciutadella I, was discovered at the former Mercat de Peix (fish market) location and has been dubbed a "very important discovery" by a lead archaeologist.

Santi Palacios said: "It’s not just about finding one boat because we now have two examples of perfectly documented naval construction in the city of Barcelona."

The Barcelona Archaeology Service has described the find as being of "special relevance", offering valuable insights into the city's rich maritime history.

The skeletal structure of the ship dates back to around the 15th or 16th century, measuring approximately 32 feet long and 10 feet wide, exhibiting a skeleton design characteristic of the Mediterranean region during the late Middle Ages.

It was found at a depth of more than five metres below sea level, in an area that would have been submerged during the 15th and 16th centuries.

Palacios said that the team had anticipated finding boat remains given the site's proximity to the port.

The ship's structure consists of over thirty curved wooden ribs and seven hull planks, fastened together by wooden dowels and iron nails, a typical construction method medieval boats found in the Mediterranean and across Europe since the mid-15th century. Read More

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
