"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
2025 National Prayer

God of hope, fill us with all joy and peace
in believing, so that we will abound in
hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You have caused us to be born again to
a living hope through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the dead; therefore,
we hope in what we do not see.
This world is not our home or reality,
but the Lord is our Rock,
our Truth, our certainty.

God of hope, we pour out our praise
and are filled with Your powerful presence.

We pour out repentance of sin and are filled
with forgiveness and righteousness.

We pour out pain from the attacks of the
enemy—anxiousness, fear, anger—and You
fill us with courage, assurance, and love.

We pour out our needs, the desires of our
hearts, and are filled with Your Kingdom
provision and purpose.

We pour out our hearts for our nation, for
the people and places, relationships and
responsibilities the Lord has established: the
Church, Family, Education, Business,
Military, Arts, Entertainment, Media, and
Government. May all who live, serve, and
steward in these be filled with Your purpose,
wisdom, strength, and truth.

Let Your lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon
us, as we have hoped in You.

In abounding hope, anchored by our hope
in the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen!

Israeli Independence Day
Yom Ha’atzmaut
April 30 - May 1, 2025

Celebrations of the event start as the sun sets on April 30. On that evening, there are official ceremonies at Mount Herzl and performances in the streets of cities and towns. The next day (May 1) is a holiday, during which most Israelis will go on outings, such as picnics or hiking.

Wednesday, April 30: the Eve of Yom Ha'atzmaut

As the sun goes down, the ceremony will begin on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The Israeli flag is raised ceremonially. Then, there are performances and the ceremonial lighting of 12 torches, each representing one of the twelve tribes of Israel who represent the beginnings of the nation. This event marks the transition from Yom Ha'Zikaron to Yom Ha'atzmaut.

In cities and towns across the country, there will be fireworks displays, performances, and shows on the streets.

Thursday, May 1: Main Day of Yom Ha'atzmaut

The main day of Yom Ha'atzmaut is a public holiday. Most Israelis choose to spend their time having picnics in parks with their families or going hiking. The day features a thrilling display of military planes flying overhead. Tel Aviv's beaches are the best place to view this spectacle.

In addition, a special parade showcases floats adorned with vibrant decorations. The parade routes are adorned with Israeli flags and slogans. The crowds, including families, tourists, and local communities, gather around the parade route to watch the parade. There are also shows and music performances in the streets.

Other activities during this time include the International Bible Contest, also known as "Chidon HaTanach", and the prestigious Israel Prize ceremony. (Israel21c)

- Father God, this week we will see an alignment in the timing of the birth of the Nation of Israel, 77 years ago; and the celebration of the founding of the National Day of Prayer. We see Your Hand moving among us, as this week we have the opportunity to bless both nations with prayers for our governing authorities.

Holy God, let us never forget the nation of Israel, our only true ally in the Middle East, and "the apple of your eye."

We pray for the peace of Jerusalem daily, even as we pray for President Donald Trump and all in governing authority in the United States of America. In Your Name, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." (I Timothy 2:1,2)
