2,500-year-old coin from Cyprus found on Israeli beach offers clues to biblical-era history
|
|
|
A 2,500-year-old coin minted in Cyprus that was recently discovered on an Israeli beach is giving researchers new evidence of trade and travel between the two lands during the biblical era.
The coin turned up last month on one of Ashdod’s beaches, in southern Israel. It was found by Ashdod beaches department deputy director Avi Chaprak, the Israel Ministry of Tourism said in a statement to The Christian Post.
Chaprak normally helps beachgoers find jewelry, keys and other lost belongings. He spotted the coin during one of those searches and recognized it as something different from the usual finds.
As per Israel’s antiquities law, he handed the object over for review by the Israel Antiquities Authority. Authority officials concluded that no coin like it had previously turned up in Israel. (Christian Post) Read More Here |

FBI Director Vows to ‘Annihilate’ Scam Compounds Targeting Americans
|

WASHINGTON—Deep in the jungle in Southeast Asia, behind high walls and barbed wire, scammers are siphoning billions of dollars from Americans.
They follow tightly scripted playbooks, often spending days or weeks building emotional bonds with a target before getting down to business.
The fraud factories are highly successful and growing, and the United States is feeling the toll. In 2025 alone, Americans reported 72,000 cases of cryptocurrency investment fraud to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center. More than $7.5 billion was lost.
The United States is now striking back with a two-pronged approach—dismantling the criminal infrastructure globally while proactively identifying victims to stop the harm—called Operation Blackout and Operation Level Up, FBI Director Kash Patel told The Epoch Times. (Read more here)

Trump Admin Ends Medicaid Funding for Gender Transition Treatments for Minors

President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced that the federal government will no longer use Medicaid funds to cover transgender surgeries and hormones for minors.
“Today, at my direction, Dr. Mehmet Oz announced that Medicaid will NO LONGER fund gender transition surgeries and hormones for minors. We are not going to pay for our innocent children to undergo these barbaric surgeries and practices, which result in unthinkable and irreversible harm to their young bodies,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
“Thanks to our strong position and pressure on this issue over the past year and a half, dozens of U.S. hospitals have already ended this so-called ‘gender-affirming care,’ and we expect many more to follow.”
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services finalized a rule ending federal Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program funding for what the agency calls “sex-rejecting procedures” on children and youth.
It covers puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical operations.
Federal funding remains available for a tapering-off period of up to six months for children already on hormone therapy.

Report Exposes Foreign Funds Behind Climate Activism
|
|
Foreign donors have poured over $130 million into U.S.-based climate activist nonprofits, according to a new database tracking over $5 billion in foreign funding.
“Our database makes it clear foreign cash is bankrolling much of the extremist climate activist movement in America,” Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of Americans for Public Trust, told the Daily Signal. “Radical activist groups dedicated to undermining American energy dominance, like Energy Foundation China, Sierra Club, and League of Conservation Voters, are recipients of vast sums of foreign money.”
While the law prohibits foreign donations to political candidates, foreign donors can legally contribute to U.S. groups organized as tax-exempt entities under the IRS code. Many foreign foundations already disclose their funding to U.S.-based groups, but Americans for Public Trust claims that disclosure is inadequate.
The database, available at FollowForeignMoney.org, presents information from the annual reports of foreign foundations, involving 523 groups and 12,094 records. Most of the U.S. recipients of foreign funds advocate for causes on the Left. Americans for Public Trust filtered out traditional charitable causes, such as children’s hospitals and the Meals on Wheels Program, to focus on activism. It currently includes funding sources from Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
The database shows more than $130 million in foreign funding going to climate activist groups based in the United States.

Judge Puts Mamdani’s Pied-à-Terre Tax On Ice

A Staten Island judge temporarily blocked the rollout of New York City Democratic Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s controversial pied-à-terre tax on Monday.
Judge Wayne Ozzi issued a temporary restraining order requiring the city to remove its published tax roll, which contains more than 900,000 properties, and barring officials from taking further action on approximately 17,000 warning notices already sent to property owners. The order also pauses related deadlines while a lawsuit challenging the tax’s implementation moves forward.
The surcharge applies to certain New York City properties that are not used as primary residences worth at least $5 million and condominiums and co-ops valued at $1 million or more.
The homeowners behind the lawsuit are not challenging the tax itself. Instead, they argue that the city’s Department of Finance is improperly placing the burden on property owners to prove they do not owe the tax rather than requiring city officials to determine which properties are subject to it. The lawsuit claims the city placed “homeowners in an untenable position in the dead of summer.”
The lawsuit was brought by three homeowners, Rachel O’Brien, Carmine Morano, and Simon Hedley, who say they were forced to gather documents proving their properties are their primary residences.
“The rollout of this surcharge is a debacle,” said Randy Mastro, a lawyer for the plaintiffs. (Daily Wire) Read more here.

Father God, we ask that the suits against this tax be won, putting an end to this part of the Socialist agenda that the Mayor is trying to implement. President Donald Trump dismissed a question Tuesday night from a reporter about the possibility of him running for a third term in 2028, saying "the law is very strong."
"Everybody asks me that question, and you know that the law is very strong on that," Trump said while speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. "I'd love to run, but the law is very strong."
"I get asked by everyone, well, even tonight they're screaming at the event, '2028,'" he said, referring to the Patriot Games, which he had attended earlier that day. "No, everybody wants me to do it, but the law is very strong."

1. 'We will not withdraw': Katz's order to the IDF in Lebanon - Israel National News
Minister of Defense Israel Katz on Wednesday visited IDF forces operating in the Lebanese villages that border Israel.
During the visit, Minister Katz received a comprehensive review from the commanders of both overt and covert operational activities in the area and discussed with them the necessary preparations for continuing the campaign against Hezbollah. Katz later spoke with soldiers in the field, voiced appreciation for their fight against the terrorists, and praised the operational achievements they accumulated.
During the visit, the Defense Minister instructed the military to prepare administratively and operationally for a long-term stay in the territory, while ensuring that the area is cleared of terrorist and underground infrastructure. (Read more)

2. IDF carries out first preemptive Hamas strike since late July Gaza deal

The IDF, on Wednesday, undertook its first preemptive strike against a Hamas official since the late July deal between US President Donald Trump and Hamasregarding partial disarmament for partial IDF Gaza withdrawals.
Shortly after that deal, the US essentially instructed Israel to stop attacking Gaza, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu complied.
Since then, there have been a limited number of instances where the IDF shot and killed Hamas fighters near the border who presented what they called an immediate threat, but there have essentially been no assassinations of Hamas officials who did not pose an imminent threat. (Read more)

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signed a mutual defense pact in Mecca on August 7. Commentators call it an Islamic NATO, but it is not. It is a message dressed as a military alliance.

4. IDF: Grave of fallen soldier Shlomo Haimson identified after 78 years - JNS
An Israel Defense Forces officer has borne the news of the finding of the burial site of fallen soldier Shlomo Haimson, killed nearly 78 years ago, to his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where they currently live, the military said in a statement on Wednesday.
Haimson, who was born in Romania in 1930, was deported to Cyprus after British Mandate troops seized the immigrant ship carrying him to the Land of Israel.
He decided to immigrate to Israel with his mother, Ita, and his girlfriend, Perla, aboard the Aliyah Bet ship Pan York-Kibbutz Galuyot. His father died during World War II. All passengers were sent to the British-run Karaolos detention camp in Cyprus. (Read more)

President Donald Trump announced in a Truth Social post Wednesday afternoon that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will be leaving her role at the White House.
Trump said Leavitt will remain as a “top outside advisor.”
Leavitt, 28, has served as the White House press secretary since the beginning of Trump’s second term. She is married to Nicholas Riccio, 61, and they have two children together, a son named Niko, born on July 10, 2024 and a baby girl born on May 1. 2. University of Michigan Drops First-Semester Grades to ‘Curb Mental Health Crisis’ - Wall Street Journal
The University of Michigan will drop grades for first-semester freshmen next year in an effort to “curb the mental health crisis unfolding among college-aged individuals,” according to the school.
Instead of a letter grade, first-semester transcripts will show “pass or no credit.” The program is designed to help students “acclimate to the demands of college and allow intrinsic motivations to guide personally meaningful academic journeys,” the school said.
The program, set to start in fall 2027, applies to students in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, which enrolls about half of Michigan’s roughly 8,000 first-year students. (Read more) |

3. Michigan Primary Tests an Old Warning on Education - Million Voices
El-Sayed’s win leaned heavily on college towns and highly credentialed counties. Counties where at least 40 percent of residents hold a college degree backed him by double digits, while less educated counties went the other way for his rival, Haley Stevens.
The pattern held across the whole state. In the sixteen counties with above-average college education, El-Sayed won 54 percent of the vote, while he managed only 43 percent everywhere else, according to Bloomberg’s breakdown of the results.
Pollsters mostly missed this coming. Republican pollsters told the Washington Examiner the final surveys likely oversampled the wrong kind of voter, describing it as a failure to reach working-class communities across the state. (Read more) |

Raise up leaders whose wisdom flows from You, not merely from degrees or institutions. 4. Texas Moms Sue to Remove Ten Commandments - Million Voices
Three Houston-area mothers filed a new lawsuit against a Texas law that requires the Ten Commandments to hang in every public school classroom. The case landed in Harris County on July 31, just days before students head back to class. This is not the first fight over the Ten Commandments law. What makes this case different is the legal weapon the mothers chose to use against it.
For more than a year, opponents of Senate Bill 10 tried to strike it down using the First Amendment. Those federal challenges failed. A federal appeals court upheld the law as constitutional this spring, clearing the way for classrooms across the state to post the required displays.
Rather than try the First Amendment route again, the mothers built their new lawsuit on two pieces of Texas law itself. The first is the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a 1999 law signed by then-Governor George W. Bush that limits how far the government can burden a person’s religious practice. The second is the Parental Rights Amendment, which Texas voters approved to the state constitution just last November. (Read more) |

5. Ballots Don’t Need ID, But NYC Groceries Do - Million Voices
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani built his campaign on opposing voter ID laws. Now his own government is requiring ID for something even more basic than voting: buying food.
Mamdani’s administration is rolling out a network of city-owned grocery stores designed to sell staple goods at a 30 percent discount. During a recent press conference, a reporter asked how the city would stop people from buying cheap groceries and reselling them for profit. The answer surprised a lot of New Yorkers.
New York City Economic Development Corporation Interim President Jeanny Pak explained that shoppers will need what she called a “library card-esque” system to prove residency before they can check out. Pak said the goal is to “target New Yorkers” and manage who is allowed to buy. A library card is issued by a government agency, which means this new grocery ID is government identification in every sense that matters. (Read more) |

6. Gorsuch Is Wrong About America’s Christian Founding - Million Voices
Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch made headlines this week for pushing back on a simple idea that many Christians hold dear: that America was founded as a Christian nation. Speaking on PBS’s “Firing Line,” Gorsuch said he does not see it that way, pointing to Vice President JD Vance and Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts as the conservatives making that claim.
His comments deserve a careful, biblical response, not a dismissive one. His remarks came after Vice President JD Vance told a Turning Point USA crowd in December that America has been, and always will be, a Christian nation, a line that drew loud applause. But when you look closely at what Gorsuch actually said, his argument leans on a claim that does not hold up once you look at the real history. (Read more) |

Stupidocrisy: Democrat’s Socialism, Antisemitism and Road to Tyranny

Something significant is happening inside the Democratic Party, and Americans who cherish liberty should pay attention. A CNN/SSRS poll conducted July 23-27 found about one-third of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults now identify as democratic socialists. CNN reported 66 percent say they are extremely motivated to vote this year, compared with 57 percent of other Democratic-aligned voters. Democratic socialist candidates have defeated established Democrats in congressional primaries. Another recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found 71 percent of Democrats identifying as liberal. Taken together, the numbers indicate socialism is gaining legitimacy, organization and electoral power in the Democratic Party.
Running alongside that socialist movement is another disturbing trend: growing hostility toward Israel. CNN’s polling found 48 percent said they would be enthusiastic about such a candidate that stands against Israel, compared with 20 percent of other Democratic-aligned voters. CNN separately reported that the newly created American Priorities super PAC spent at least $5.6 million supporting Democratic candidates fiercely critical of Israel and AIPAC, helping democratic socialists win congressional primaries. Several successful socialist-aligned candidates share strong criticism of Israel and support ending American military aid. History teaches that political hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people can become something far darker when ideological movements begin identifying them as obstacles to their political objectives. Trump Says Secret Service Had Him Switch Planes in Turkey Over Threat

|
President Donald Trump said on Aug. 11 that the Secret Service had him switch from Air Force One to a military aircraft when leaving Ankara, Turkey, last month due to a security threat.
Trump was departing Turkey on July 8 after concluding a two-day NATO summit when the Secret Service identified a potential security threat. The president did not elaborate on the nature or origin of the threat.
“It’s only up to secret service. I just follow what they'd like to do. So, I go by secret service and the military. They wanted me to go on a different flight, a different plane,” he told reporters on Aug. 11
“I guess there was a threat out there. I didn’t really ask too much about it.”
The president traveled to Turkey on July 7 aboard the new Air Force One, a Boeing 747-8 luxury jet that was gifted to the federal government by the Qatari government last year, but changed to an older Air Force One for his departure.
White House communications director Steven Cheung said on July 9 that the plane change was part of a “distraction and misdirection” strategy intended to address threats against the president.
Cheung said the president faces threats from “many enemies of America” and the government would use “every tool at our disposal” to counter those threats.

Holy Father,
We thank You, Lord, for the Secret Service and the military that watches over President Trump to keep him safe from all the numerous threats against him. Thank You for the wisdom and discernment that You have given to the Secret Service when they had President Trump to secretly change planes when he left the NATO Summit meeting in Turkey on July 8th due to a potential security threat.
We pray, Lord, for continued protection for our president as he faces so many challenges and potential threats against his life. Grant to President Trump the wisdom of King Solomon, the strength of Samson, and the heart of King David. In all his ways, Lord, let him acknowledge You and seek Your face as the angelic hosts of heaven give the secret service wisdom to continue to protect him.

Darline Graham, Ralph Norman Advance to GOP Senate Runoff in South Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C.—The special Republican primary election to replace the late Lindsey Graham as South Carolina’s Senate nominee has narrowed. Graham’s sister, current Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.), and Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C) will advance to an Aug. 25 runoff.
As of 9:07 p.m., with approximately 83 percent of the vote counted, Graham had 32.6 percent to 24.1 percent for Norman. Rep. Russell Fry (R-S.C.) fell short, coming in third with 20.4 percent of the vote.
At its early stages, the race for second teetered back and forth between Fry and Norman. Later in the evening, big gains for Norman in upstate South Carolina—some of it in his home district, South Carolina’s Fifth—cemented a decisive lead over Fry.
In comments to reporters after his victory speech, Norman said he looked forward to debating Graham—and he said he would call President Donald Trump, who backed Graham in the contest.
Norman, who recently ran for South Carolina governor, noted he hoped for Trump’s endorsement but did not receive it. “South Carolina’s going to decide the next senator,” he said, drawing cheers. Like Graham and others in the race, he also lauded Trump’s agenda, saying he has “laid out a great framework” on election integrity, foreign policy, and other issues.

Supreme Court to Hear Case of Catholic Preschool Excluded From Colorado Program Over State’s LGBTQ Policy

The Supreme Court in November will hear the case of a Catholic school excluded from Colorado’s universal preschool program over its views on LGBTQ issues.
On Tuesday, the high court released its calendar of arguments for November that includes the case of St. Mary Catholic Parish v. Roy, scheduled for Nov. 3. The calendar also includes a case about whether an inmate can sue a prison official, an affirmative action lawsuit, and a death row case.
St. Mary’s Catholic Parish preschool in Littleton, Colorado, has argued its exclusion from the state’s universal preschool program violates the First Amendment’s protection against religious discrimination. The state’s program provides all children up to 15 hours of tuition-free preschool, but it requires participating schools to admit LGBTQ-identifying children and the children of LGBTQ-identifying parents.
A district court and the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Colorado, citing the Supreme Court’s 1990 decision in Employment Division v. Smith that the state’s rules were neutral and applied to every preschool without distinction. In the 1990 precedent, the Supreme Court allowed Oregon to exclude a Native American man from receiving unemployment benefits because he had consumed the hallucinogen peyote, which he claimed was part of his religious practice.
Congress then passed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993, which requires strict scrutiny for laws restricting religious freedom. The plaintiffs in the case are two Catholic parishes, two Catholic parents, and the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver. 16,000 Arrests Made as Part of Operation to Make Washington Safe
|

More than 16,000 individuals have been arrested in Washington since the launch of the Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force one year ago, the U.S. Marshals Service said in an Aug. 10 statement. The task force was established through a March 2025 executive order signed by President Donald Trump that aimed to tackle concerns about crime, public order, and urban aesthetics in the nation’s capital. “One year later, the results speak for themselves,” the U.S. Marshals Service said.
Those arrested include more than 3,200 people apprehended for narcotics-related crimes, more than 100 known gang members, and 35 homicide suspects. Almost 2,000 illegal firearms have been seized. “This has been the largest, most aggressive law enforcement collaboration ever assembled to confront crime in a major American city,” the Marshals Service said.
Trump declared a crime emergency in Washington in an Aug. 11, 2025, executive order, which was followed by a federal law enforcement surge in the nation’s capital.
In the order, Trump said that Washington had a higher violent crime, murder, and robbery rate than all 50 U.S. states. In 2024, the homicide rate in Washington was 27.54 per 100,000 residents, according to the executive order. The vehicle theft rate of 842.4 per 100,000 residents was the country’s highest and more than three times the national average.
Both homicide and vehicle theft crimes declined in Washington in the first half of 2026 from the same period last year, prior to launching the task force, according to an Aug. 11 report from the think tank Council on Criminal Justice. Homicide was down 41 percent and motor vehicle theft by 54 percent. Other crimes that have declined during the period include sexual assault, robbery, carjacking, and larceny, according to the report. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

According to the US Marshall's Service this has been a great success in bringing down crime with the apprehension of many gang members, murderers, and narcotic violation perpetrators.
We pray, Father, for the safety of all police officers and military that are patrolling the streets of Washington D.C. to keep it crime free and to keep it a beautiful safe city to visit. Lord, we ask You to uncover any unfruitful works of darkness that lurk in D.C. and expose them to the light of Your glory and bring justice to all wickedness. In Your Holy name, we pray. Francesca ‘Thanksgiving Sucks’ Hong and Pollsters Humiliated in Wisconsin Upset

Hong, a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly since 2020, opposes Thanksgiving, wants the U.S. Senate and ICE abolished, intended to kill off Wisconsin’s school choice program, admitted to having a bipolar disorder, and called the police (she wants to abolish) twice over what she thought was a pro-Israel display.
She once had an anxiety attack in a Culver’s (a family restaurant) because she could read the minds of all the racist, “old white people who didn’t think we spoke English.” She was there with her son, who is half-white because her (poor) husband is white.
Hong might look as sweet and innocent as Sally Field, but she is without question an unstable, power-mad bigot who hates everything America stands for. Thankfully, Hong is also a retard, as is the campaign staff that stupidly allowed her to do the rounds on national television, where she crashed and burned like a beauty pageant contestant during the Q&A after a night out with Hunter Biden.
All Hong had to do, especially after her closest rival, Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, dropped out two weeks ago and endorsed her, was sit on her lead. Her ego wouldn’t let her do that. Instead, her ego sent her out to step all over a field of rakes with a series of national television interviews that scared the hell out of Democrats. Francesca Hong is no Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
So what about the pollsters?
How could they get it this wrong?
In this case, if you look at the polling dates above, the pollsters’ one mistake was to stop polling a week and two weeks before Election Day under the assumption the race was over. Hong likely was ahead by double digits when those polls were taken. But by assuming the race was over, the pollsters missed the bottom dropping out of her campaign in the final two weeks of the campaign as she opened and reopened her mouth. (Breitbart)

Author Dinesh D'Souza challenges Bible skeptics with 'startling' archaeological discoveries

FIRST ON FOX — A trip to Israel by bestselling author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza sparked what would become a three-year deep dive into biblical archaeology — a field he says offers striking support for the historical authenticity of the Bible.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, D'Souza said he became fascinated with biblical archaeology because it "stunningly supports the historicity of the Bible." "The Stones Cry Out," his newest book, is the culmination of a multi-year effort that began in 2022 and is scheduled to hit shelves on Oct. 13.
D'Souza explores archaeological discoveries tied to people, places and events described in the Old and New Testaments, examining what they reveal about the historical credibility of the Bible.
His book delves into dozens of such discoveries. The Texas-based expert said some of the most striking involve relatively minor biblical figures whose existence has been supported by archaeological findings. Not everyone, however, is convinced such discoveries corroborate the biblical record — a view D'Souza is unfazed by, he said. "I think the skeptics generally are sort of armchair critics," he said.
