Evangelicals share Gospel at Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics
|
|
Southern Baptists are sharing the gospel at the Winter Olympic Games, officially known as Milano Cortina 2026, currently underway in Italy.
The 25th global event, running from Feb. 6 to Feb. 22, has brought together about 2,900 athletes from 92 nations and is the most geographically widespread Winter Olympics in history, using 15 venues across Northern Italy and drawing an estimated two million spectators. Hundreds of Southern Baptists have joined the crowds alongside International Mission Board (IMB) missionaries to boldly proclaim Christ throughout the host regions, Baptist Press reported.
IMB teams, local partners, and volunteers are focusing much of their energy on Milan, a city prominently Roman Catholic by heritage and known for iconic landmarks such as the Duomo di Milano and Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” which is housed in the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Father we celebrate evangelical teams given divine appointments to share the Gospel throughout the Winter Olympic Games in Italy! We pray life-changing blessings fell upon visitors, as believers and ministries worked in unison for the cause of Christ. May the power of the Gospel continue to spread across the 92 nations represented. We give You all GLORY for the fruit that will continue to flourish as the truth of Jesus Christ, as King of kings and Lord of lords, continues to spread around the world! In Jesus Mighty Name we pray- Amen.
"And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'" (Mark 16:15)

Top Cartel Leader ‘El Mencho’ Killed in Mexican Military Operation, US Official Says
|
|
The notorious leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel was killed during a Mexican government operation on Sunday, according to the U.S. Department of State, in a move that decapitated one of the most powerful drug organizations in the country.
Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” was killed by the Mexican military, said Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in a post on X, confirming anonymously sourced reports about the drug lord’s demise.
The U.S. State Department had offered a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to the arrest of El Mencho. The Jalisco New Generation Cartel, known as CJNG and started in 2009, is one of the most powerful and fastest growing criminal organizations in Mexico.
“I’ve just been informed that Mexican security forces have killed ‘El Mencho,’ one of the bloodiest and most ruthless drug kingpins,” Landau wrote. “This is a great development for Mexico, the US, Latin America, and the world. The good guys are stronger than the bad guys.”
Landau also made reference to videos and reports of violence in Mexico following his death. “It’s not surprising that the bad guys are responding with terror. But we must never lose our nerve,” he wrote. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Lord God we thank you that this administration is taking action to stop this dangerous drug trafficking from affecting our families and our children. We pray you continue to give the Trump administration wisdom that they would yield to your Spirit, and do what is right to protect our country and our citizens in Jesus name amen.

Trump considering limited strikes to force Iran to make nuclear deal
|
|
US President Donald Trump is considering launching limited strikes on Iran to force it to accept his demands for a nuclear agreement, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, as Tehran said bases of “hostile force” in the region would become “legitimate targets” if Washington attacks.
Citing people familiar with the matter, the Journal said preliminary US strikes on Iran could begin within days, targeting some military or government sites but stopping short of a full-scale assault that could trigger a major Iranian response.
If Iran continues to reject Trump’s demand that it give up its uranium enrichment program, the US will launch a wider assault on regime targets, with the possible aim of toppling the Islamic Republic, according to the newspaper. One source cited by the outlet said Trump could ramp up attacks until the Islamic Republic falls or takes apart its nuclear program.

Blizzard Hits New York City and Northeast as Snowfall, Winds Intensify Forcing Millions to Stay Home
|
|
|
A large section of the northeastern U.S. was pummeled by huge amounts of snowfall combined with strong winds Monday morning forcing residents to remain stuck at home under road travel bans and blizzard warnings.
Tens of millions of Americans from the U.S. capital, Washington, to the northern state of Maine were warned to prepare for up to two feet of snow forecast in some areas.
AP reports snow fell at a rate of two to three inches an hour overnight stretching from New York through Massachusetts. Some areas have gotten well over a foot of snow since Sunday, along with wind gusts of over 30 mph and low visibility.
The National Weather Service called travel conditions “nearly impossible” with residents counseled to shelter at home until further notice as others take to the streets in NYC to literally dig their way out of trouble – as long as they can provide the necessary paperwork and/or permissions as demanded by Democrat leaders.
The AP report detailed just some of the snowfalls bringing the northeast to a halt:
In New York, Long Island MacArthur Airport reported 22.5 inches of snow as of Monday morning.
Parts of New York City had accumulations in the mid- to high teens, with Coney Island getting 16 inches.
Freehold, New Jersey, had 22 inches. New London, Connecticut, and North Kingstown, Rhode Island, both got 17 inches of snow. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Lord God we pray for all those affected by theis snowstorm that you would help them and that no harm or evil will prevail against their houses and their property in Jesus' name. We pray, Lord, for the state and local officials as they seek to ensure the safety of vulnerable populations from the effects of this storm. In Jesus' name amen.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most Highwill rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2)

- Jerusalem Post
Israel will reply with “unimaginable” force if Iran launches an attack on Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Monday evening while speaking at a 40-signature debate at the Knesset.
The prime minister said Israel was facing “very complex and challenging days” amid ongoing tensions with Iran and was prepared to respond to any threat.
“We are vigilant and prepared for every scenario. I have made it clear to the ayatollahs’ regime that if they make perhaps the gravest mistake in their history and attack Israel, we will respond with a force they cannot imagine,” he said. (Read more)

2. Herzog: Peace achievable if countries stand together against Tehran
- Israel National News
President Isaac Herzog hosted the traditional Iftar meal at the President's Residence on Monday to mark the breaking of the Ramadan fast, welcoming diplomats, religious leaders, and dignitaries from Arab Israeli society.
Among those addressing the gathering were the Chairman of the Forum of Arab Local Authority Heads in Israel and Mayor of Sakhnin, Mazen Ghanaim; Director of the Sharia Courts, Adv. Ihab Abu Ghosh; and University of Haifa researcher Dr. Rahma Mahamid.
In his remarks, Herzog emphasized the shared foundations between Judaism and Islam, saying their common Abrahamic roots form the basis of Israel’s relations with Muslim countries and underpin both existing peace agreements and the Abraham Accords. He described the accords as "a model of partnership, peace, and shared prosperity between peoples and nations." (Read more)

3. ‘No Way’ to Disarm Hamas Without Israel Taking All of Gaza, Former General Says - Algemeiner
Israel will need to take over all of Gaza to meet its war objectives, a senior reserve Israeli general said, as the United States moves ahead with plans to assemble a multinational stabilization forcethat is not expected to deploy in Hamas-controlled areas.
Brig. Gen. (res.) Amir Avivi, a former deputy commander of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)’s Gaza Division, said the military aims of the war — including the disarmament of Hamas — cannot be achieved without moving into the remaining parts of the enclave still held by the Palestinian terrorist group.
“There is no way to reach the goals of war without conquering Gaza,” Avivi told The Algemeiner. (Read more)

4. Board of Peace said looking into ‘stablecoin’ to boost economy of postwar Gaza
- Times of Israel
Officials with the Board of Peace, the US-led body meant to oversee postwar Gaza’s reconstruction, are reportedly exploring creating a cryptocurrency to jumpstart the Strip’s economic recovery.
The currency would be a so-called “stablecoin,” whose value stays relatively stable because it is tied to a reliable asset or commodity such as the US dollar, the Financial Times reported on Monday, citing several sources familiar with the idea.
The cryptocurrency project is being led, according to the report, by Israeli tech entrepreneur Liran Tancman. Tancman is a veteran of Israel’s intelligence corps who is serving as an unpaid adviser to the Board of Peace and has been working with senior US officials on Gaza-related projects over the past year. 5. Israeli flag raised for the first time atop Mount Sartaba in the Jordan Valley
- Israel National News
For the first time, the Israeli flag was raised today (Monday) on the summit of Mount Sartaba, a historic site in the Jordan Valley. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Heritage, is part of a broader series of symbolic actions at historic sites across Judea and Samaria, aimed at strengthening the connection to Jewish heritage.
Rising approximately 650 meters above sea level, Mount Sartaba is closely associated with the Second Temple period. The flag, now visible from afar, marks Israel’s presence in this strategically significant area.
The summit is more than a geographic landmark; it holds deep religious and national significance. During the era of the Mishnah and Talmud, the mountain served as one of the main stations for a network of signal fires, which transmitted news of the new month from Jerusalem to Babylon. (Read more)

1. Netanyahu warns Iran of ‘unimaginable’ response if it attacks Israel - JNS.org
The Islamic Republic will face “unimaginable” consequences if it attacks Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Thursday.
“We are prepared for any scenario,” Netanyahu said at an Israel Defense Forces cadets graduation ceremony at the Bahad 1 officers training school in southern Israel. “And if the ayatollahs make the mistake of attacking us, they will experience a response they cannot even imagine.”
Addressing the newly commissioned officers in Hebrew, the prime minister said Israel is “operating side by side with our major ally, the United States,” adding that during his meeting in Washington on Feb. 11 with President Donald Trump, he presented “Israel’s position on the guiding principles for any talks with Iran.”
Regional tensions have intensified in recent days as the United States deployed major naval and air assets to the area in its largest such buildup since 2003. Although Washington and Tehran held two rounds of nuclear talks in recent weeks, Trump indicated on Thursday that he expects to decide within 10 to 15 days on striking a deal with Iran or taking military action.
“We have to make a meaningful deal,” the president said. “Otherwise, bad things happen.”

2. Trump on Iran: They’d better negotiate a fair deal - Israel National News
US President Donald Trump on Friday said that Iran “better negotiate a fair deal", while slamming the regime’s leadership over their crackdown on anti-government protests last month.
“You know, the people of Iran are a lot different than the leaders of Iran. And it's a very, very sad situation. 32,000 people were killed over a relatively short period of time," Trump said, marking the first time he has mentioned the death toll in the crackdown. “They were going to hang 800, two weeks ago, some by crane. They lift them up with a tall crane and they play them around the square."
“They were going to hang 837 people and I gave them the word: ‘If you hang one person, even one person, that you're going to be hit right then and there.’ I wasn't waiting two weeks and negotiating, and they gave up the hanging. They didn't hang 837. Supposedly they didn't hang anybody," he added.
“I feel very badly for the people of Iran. They've lived in hell," continued Trump.
Earlier on Friday, Trump appeared to confirm that he was considering a limited military strike on Iran to coax it into accepting a nuclear deal on his terms.
Asked by reporters if he was mulling a limited strike, after The Wall Street Journal reported this on Thursday, Trump paused and smiled before responding, “I guess you can say I am considering it." (Read more here)

3. Iran university students hold anti-regime rallies at campuses in Tehran, Mashhad - Times of Israel
Iranian students chanted anti-government slogans at rallies for people killed in the regime’s bloody crackdown on protesters last month, local and diaspora media reported Saturday, as groups opposed to the clerical leadership faced off with its supporters and security forces.
Videos geolocated by AFP to Tehran’s top engineering university showed fights breaking out in a crowd as people shouted “bi sharaf,” or “disgraceful” in Farsi.
Footage posted by the Persian-language dissident TV channel Iran International, which is based outside the country, also showed a large crowd chanting anti-government slogans at Sharif University of Technology.
According to Iran International, protesters clashed with members of the regime’s Basij paramilitary force, chanting “death” to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and “long live the king,” referring to the monarchy toppled in Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Local news outlet Fars said that what was supposed to be a “silent and peaceful sit-in” of students killed last month was disrupted by people chanting anti-regime slogans. A video posted by Fars showed a group chanting and waving Iranian flags facing off with a crowd wearing masks and being held back by men in suits. Both groups were holding what appeared to be memorial photographs. (Read more)

4. Thousands of Christians return to churches in north-east Nigeria despite years of terror - Christian Today
Catholic churches in north-east Nigeria are witnessing a surge in worshippers, with bishops reporting that the faithful are returning “in their thousands, not hundreds” despite more than a decade of brutal violence. Bishop Oliver Doeme and Bishop John Bakeni of Maiduguri Diocese in Borno State told Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) that congregations have grown beyond pre-insurgency levels, even after years of displacement, killings and destruction.
Maiduguri was the birthplace of Boko Haram, whose campaign of terror since 2009 has left an estimated 20,000 people dead and forced more than two million from their homes. Yet today, the bishops say, the picture is markedly different.
“The faith of our people is unshakeable,” Bishop Doeme told ACN. “The number of Catholics we have in our diocese now is more than the number of Catholics we had before the Boko Haram crisis.” He pointed to a rise in weddings, First Holy Communions and baptisms - with child baptisms alone reaching 1,000 - as evidence of renewed spiritual life.
One focal point of this revival is the Whuabazhi Pilgrimage Centre, established with ACN’s support, which is drawing record crowds. The bishops said it was a place where “people come back healed” and that it is a centre that offers hope and direction, particularly for young people. (Read more)

Where is God Living?
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, February 23, 2026
Exodus 25:1–27:19 opens with a surprising request. God tells Moses to invite the people to give freely toward building the Tabernacle, the Mishkan, a dwelling place for His Presence. Gold, silver, fabrics, skins, and acacia wood, much of it received from the Egyptians at the Exodus, would become sacred materials. Detailed plans follow for the ark of the covenant, the table of the bread of the Presence, the menorah, the curtains, and the altar. Nothing is casual. Every measurement and pattern matters because each object mirrors a heavenly reality. God teaches His people that holiness requires intention, generosity, and obedience woven together into something visible in everyday life.
Yet the most important line appears early. “Let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them” (Exodus 25:8). The Hebrew wording goes further, that He may dwell within them, betokham. The Tabernacle was never meant to confine God to a structure. The true dwelling place was the willing human heart. In Hebrew thought, the heart is not mainly emotion, it is the center of thought, will, and identity, the core of who a person is. The sanctuary therefore becomes a picture of inner transformation. God was forming a people, not decorating a tent. Jeremiah later promises a covenant where God’s law would be written on that inner place, that heart (Jeremiah 31:33). The voluntary offerings mattered because worship cannot be forced. A beautiful building without surrendered lives would still leave God outside. Read more

President's space superiority executive order takes on new urgency as Chinese develop reusable rockets and target lunar resources
|
|
|
The race to the moon is on — again. But the strategic competition playing out today is much bigger than our race with the Soviet Union in 1969. If China reaches the moon ahead of the United States and establishes a permanent, manned presence — it will not treat the lunar surface as a peaceful scientific outpost, but as an extension of its campaign to surpass America, intimidate our allies and compromise our systems that keep the American homeland secure. This is no longer something of science fiction.
President Donald Trump understands this threat, signing the Executive Order on Ensuring American Space Superiority, which made it abundantly clear that he wants the United States to lead this new space race — returning Americans back to the moon by 2028 and building a permanent manned presence on the lunar surface.
Let me be clear, the fear that China could somehow "claim" the moon by arriving first misunderstands both geography and international reality. Two of the main locations for settlement are the Shackleton Crater, which stretches about the distance from Washington, D.C., to Baltimore, Maryland, and the South Pole–Aitken Basin, which is roughly the distance from Washington, D.C., to Denver, Colo. The moon is vast.
The strategic concern and question for Congress is not who arrives "next," but who establishes a durable, scalable and defensible presence on the lunar surface. China understands this question and is well on their way to develop a reusable launch system to control this terrain and its abundant critical resources within a decade. The U.S. needs to recognize this threat and address it with the urgency it demands. (Fox News) Read More
