President Donald Trump auctioned off a painting of Jesus Christ for $2.75 million to benefit charity during a New Year's Eve bash at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, on Wednesday. The proceeds from the painting — which was painted live in 10 minutes by "Christian worship painter" Vanessa Horabuena — will go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the local sheriff's office, Trump told attendees at the glitzy gala, where tickets to attend ran for $1,450, according to The Independent. "There's a young lady named Vanessa who's one of the greatest artists anywhere in the world," Trump said. "To me, she's one of the greatest. … She's a speed painter, and she's a great painter, but I think she's one of the great living artists."
Horabuena has visited the White House to showcase her art, which includes portraits of Trump, according to her blog. Last May, she personally delivered her painting "Prayers for our President" to the White House, which depicts Trump in prayer as he faces a cross atop a mountain. "This piece was created to reflect back to him the place he can always turn when he needs a word from God, a touch from Heaven, or wisdom from our Awesome Creator," she wrote. After Horabuena speedily painted the portrait of Jesus amid dramatic worshipful flourishes against the backdrop of praise music at Mar-a-Lago, Trump started the bidding at $100,000. The price quickly rose to $1 million thanks to an unidentified attendee whom Trump joked is "the biggest guy on Wall Street," for whom such a price is "peanuts." Has Time Finally Run Out for Iran's Islamist Dictators?

For the past 16 years, the world has continued to ask the same question with respect to the Islamist regime in Iran: Is it finally time for the despotic rule of the ayatollahs to end? Yet hopes that Iran might finally free itself have continually been disappointed. That's why even amid the heightened expectations that the breaking point has been reached, optimism about its imminent fall should remain tempered.
The theocracy imposed on the country in 1979--when the government of Shah Reza Pahlavi collapsed and was replaced by the rule of religious extremists, led by the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini--has survived every previous challenge. Despite its manifest unpopularity, it has repeatedly been able to mobilize both the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the nation's army to suppress protests with the sort of deadly force that intimidated a restive population into sullen acceptance of their fate.
Nevertheless, the Islamist government's inability to effectively run a country rich in natural resources but now facing shortages of energy and clean water, as well as having wasted massive sums of money on building a nuclear program at home and funding terrorism abroad, has once again brought it to the brink.
Trump's threats
Speculation that the time has finally arrived for the fall of Iran's theocratic government is centered on the latest round of protests spreading throughout the country. Abba, our hearts go out to the Iranians that are being forced to remain in their country because of the abusive government of the Ayatollah's. We ask You, Father God, to bring about the closure of this era in Iran's history and open one that is based in freedom not in an Islamic terror organization. We ask that Holy Spirit pour out the Spirit of the Fear of God into every heart that is bowing to Allah, give them visions of what would await them when called before You to account for their lives. Jesus, we don't know what it will take for this government to be brought down, but You do.
We ask You to download to Your intercessors information and wisdom to know how to pray into it to bring about Your intentions for the Ayatollah and all his leadership team. We ask that Holy Spirit release warrior angels to come alongside the Iranian protesters, guiding and directing them on where they should go, what and how they should move against the IRGC and the army to stop the killing of their own people..We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, The Lord Of Hosts, the God who has multitudes of men and angels awaiting His call.

Trump Outlines His Plans for Venezuela After Maduro Capture
|
|
After U.S. military forces captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro over the weekend, attention has turned to what comes next for the country that has lived under socialist rule for more than 25 years.
President Donald Trump has spoken about his long-term goals for Venezuela, but for now, his focus remains on tackling short-term challenges. Holding fair and free elections and restoring a democratic government will take time, he said, as there is much work to do.
“We’ll have elections at the right time,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Jan. 4. “Venezuela right now is a dead country. We have to bring it back.”
The Trump administration has made clear that before any broader political change can take place in the country, the immediate priorities include ensuring that the interim leadership complies with U.S. orders, preventing interference by drug cartels, and bringing in U.S. oil companies to help rebuild Venezuela’s energy infrastructure. Abba, we give You praise and glory for President Trump's taking Nicolas Maduro and his wife out of Venezuela and bringing them to the US. We thank You that now Venezulans have the promise of a new government that will not be run by cartels and hope for the future of their nation. Father God, we ask You to guide and direct all decisions made moving forward, that Your heart for Venezuela will be implemented. We ask for all demonic strongholds maintaining the cartel's power to be demolished by warrior angels. We ask Holy Spirit to pour out Your wrath on all cartel members and those who support them, inside Venezuela and around the world.
Jesus, we ask for new beginnings for all Venezuelans. Restore their hope, bring back dreams that were abandoned because of the evil government, remind Your people that Your promises are still good, that Your intentions are for rebuilding and restoring lives and families. The dramatic events that unfolded in Venezuela over the past few days have stunned the world. The U.S. capture of Nicolás Maduro is already being framed as a decisive moment--either a long-overdue intervention against an autocrat or a dangerous act of imperial overreach. But almost everyone is missing the far larger picture. What just happened in Venezuela is not a regional crisis. It is a geopolitical earthquake. And its shockwaves are already being felt in Beijing and Moscow.
This is not simply about Maduro. It is also about oil, power, precedent--and a global chessboard that just shifted in a way few fully understand.
From Washington's perspective, Venezuela has long been a strategic prize. It sits atop the largest proven oil reserves on Earth--more than Saudi Arabia--and has spent years drifting into the economic and military orbit of America's two greatest rivals. The Trump administration has gambled that by removing Maduro and reshaping Venezuela's government, it can push both China and Russia out of the Western Hemisphere in one bold stroke.
But gambles have consequences. And China and Russia are not minor stakeholders being brushed aside. They are furious because they have spent decades--and tens of billions of dollars--building Venezuela into a critical pillar of their global strategy.
Russia's investment has been overtly military and strategic. Over the past twenty years, Moscow sold roughly $20 billion in weapons to Venezuela and signed a major strategic partnership agreement as recently as May 7th. Venezuela was not just a customer; it was a foothold--a symbol that Russia could project power into America's backyard.
China's involvement runs even deeper. Beijing lent Venezuela more than $60 billion through oil-backed loans, turning the country into what many analysts quietly described as a Chinese economic colony. Bombshell: Minnesota Welfare Administrators Made 'Systemic Effort' to Doctor and Even Fake Official Documents to Give out Massive 'Grants'

Minnesota has gone from the Land of 10,000 Lakes to the Land of 10,000 scams.
With bad news rising on a near-daily basis — including Tuesday’s fatal shooting after a woman apparently tried to hit Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with her car — the state that gave America the simpering jape named Tim Walz is giving the country good reason to wonder if there’s anything good in its Democrat-dominated government.
And an audit released Monday is just making things worse.
According to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press, the audit by the Office of the Legislative Auditor — a nonpartisan agency — found that a program run from the state’s Department of Human Services displayed a cavalier attitude toward spending tax dollars that would have made Tammany Hall blush.
It’s important to note that this is a different animal entirely from the “day care” scandal based largely in the state’s Somali immigrant community that is making headlines. This is in the Behavioral Health Administration, which is supposed to be focused on treating mental health and addictions, according to KARE-TV in Minneapolis.
Not only were public dollars showered on groups without adequate safeguards against corruption, according to KARE, the audit found that Behavioral Health Administration staffers had engaged in a “systemic effort” to cover their tracks by doctoring or even faking documentation that was supposed to make sure public money was well spent.
“Frankly, in the 27-plus years I’ve been with the OLA, I’ve never seen this before,” Legislative Auditor Judy Randall told lawmakers, according to KARE, while presenting the audit’s findings.
“I will say we’ve had suspicions periodically, but we’ve never been able to prove it, to document it, and we did in this case. And it’s very troubling.”

1. IDF conducts second strike in 24 hours on southern Lebanon, killing terrorist drone operator - Jerusalem Post
The IDF conducted an airstrike in the Zaita region of southern Lebanon on Thursday, killing a Hezbollah operative, according to an official military statement.
A later statement from the IDF clarified that the operative was Alaa' Hourani, who was a Hezbollah drone operator. Throughout the IDF's conflict with Hezbollah, Hourani also aided in re-establishing the terror group's infrastructure in the region, as well as in intelligence gathering and deploying terrorist forces.
The military claimed the strike was in response to "Hezbollah's continued violations of the ceasefire understandings."
This comes less than 24 hours after the IDF struck Jouaiyya, southern Lebanon, killing a Hezbollah terrorist from the group's 127th Aerial Unit. The terrorist was also taking part in re-establishing the terror group's infrastructure in the region, according to a Wednesday statement. (Read more)

Lebanon’s efforts to disarm Hezbollah are “encouraging” but insufficient, says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, hours after the Lebanese Armed Forces said it has achieved the goal of a state monopoly on arms in the country’s south in an “effective and tangible way.”
“The ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States between Israel and Lebanon states clearly, Hezbollah must be fully disarmed,” says the Prime Minister’s Office in an English-language statement. “This is imperative for Israel’s security and Lebanon’s future.”
Hezbollah fought a year-long war with Israel, which ended in a November 2024 ceasefire that stipulated that only Lebanon’s state security forces are allowed to carry arms.

3. Egyptian ship infiltrates Israeli waters, IDF responds - Israel National News
An Egyptian vessel infiltrated Israeli waters for a short time on Thursday evening. IDF forces identified the ship and operated in accordance with operational procedures.
According to the IDF, after the vessel failed to respond to calls to stop, deterrent measures were employed against it. In response, the vessel changed course and returned to Egyptian waters.
The IDF Spokesperson emphasized in the statement that “Egypt is a key partner to the peace agreement, and security coordination between the two countries continues as usual." (Read more)

4. ISIS suicide bombing plot foiled in northern Israel - World Israel News
Israeli police and counter-terror operatives recently foiled a suicide bombing plot in northern Israel tied to the Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization.
On Thursday morning, the Israel Police and the Shin Bet security agency issued a joint statement revealing that several weeks ago, a 15-year-old ISIS terrorist from northern Israel was arrested while preparing to carry out a suicide bombing attack.
The suspect was found to be in contact with “terrorist elements,” and was detained for questioning by police and the Shin Bet.
During his interrogation, it emerged that the suspect had pledged allegiance to ISIS.

5. Archaeology in the City of David Yields New Treasures - Christianity Today
My quest for the ark of the covenant was abruptly disrupted at 35,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean. Three hours into our flight to Israel and several hundred miles south of Greenland, the pilot announced that we were turning back to the US because Israel had closed its air space. Israel’s attack on Iran had begun.
Unlike Indiana Jones, I was not searching for the ark as it might exist today. The ark disappeared from the pages of the Bible during the latter days of the kingdom of Judah.
Instead of the ark’s departure from the Jerusalem temple, its arrival interested me. The arrival of the ark of the covenant designated Jerusalem as the Holy City of God.
The City of David is archaeologists’ name for the most ancient area of Jerusalem, a narrow ridge that begins near the southern wall of the Temple Mount and descends to the Pool of Siloam near where the Kidron and Hinnom valleys intersect. (Read more)

Father God, we praise You that Israel has such thorough plans for fighting wars on all fronts, as it looks like they may have to. Thank You that they see the danger and prepare for it regardless of any negative comments others have for them. We pray that You will give them all strategies that are going to work, on land or above the earth. We pray, however, that those who are their enemies will be deterred from engaging them in fighting and come to the realization that God is on their side and no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

2. The Truth About Venezuela Under Socialism, From Those Who Fled It – ZeroHedge
Zarai Maza survived a torched vehicle and a horrific car crash after peacefully protesting the Venezuelan regime, an unacceptable act in her home country, where speaking out could cost you your life or those of your family members.
She said she believes that the Venezuelan dictatorship was trying to kill her over her activism.
“They started the persecution against me in 2014, and it lasted until 2017,” Maza said. “They made three assassination attempts against my life, and after the last one, I was in the hospital. I couldn’t remember anything.”
Holding back tears, Maza said the last encounter started off as a normal taxi ride. She recalled waking up in a hospital with no memory of what happened and no feeling in her body.
She moved to Florida in 2017, and after two years of physical therapy in the United States, she regained her ability to walk upright again.
She is among the millions of Venezuelans who have fled the brutal regime, which turned a prosperous country into a repressive, failed socialist nation. And like many Venezuelans at home and abroad, Maza cheered the U.S. military operation that captured Nicolás Maduro, the country’s leader, and his wife on Jan. 3 and brought them to New York City to face federal charges including narco-terrorism. Dear Lord, we praise You for the testimonies coming out about the horrible human rights violations in Venezuela and pray that all of the world will heed what they say and turn away from socialism and Marxism in all forms. Lord, pray for these whose experiences we have heard and all others who have escaped this regime. We pray that they will find success here in our country or wherever they have had to flee for safety. Father, minister Your life to them while they are here. Lord, now that the dictator has been removed, we ask that You would, through wise and just actions of our country, bring real freedom and prosperity to this once prominent country. May they lift up many prayers to You, oh Lord, for all they need.

3. ICE Agent Fatally Shot Protester Driving Vehicle Toward Officers in Minnesota: DHS
The incident occurred during an ICE operation on Jan. 7.
A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minnesota shot and killed an anti-ICE protester during an operation on Jan. 7, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed.
“Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism,” Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin wrote in an X post on Jan. 7.
The ICE officer fired shots at the protester, who was shot in the head and killed.The demonstrator was identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, according to a joint statement by Minneapolis City Council members. An undisclosed number of immigration officers were hurt in the process but are expected to make full recoveries, McLaughlin noted. Read more

Dear Father, we are sorry this lady died in this altercation. We pray for her family who has lost her. We also pray that other protestors will heed the danger in resisting lawful enforcement who are keeping our country safe and orderly. We declare that others who would resist these officers will come to a realization that they are being deceived by the enemy. We pray that those in authority will learn to speak peace only and not to stir up hatred and violence as has happened. Lord, we ask that You send wise leaders to speak with Your voice into this tense atmosphere that we also see in many other places in our county. Give our citizens ears to hear the voice of wisdom.

4. Walz Issues Warning Order to Prepare Minnesota Guard After Deadly Shooting Involving ICE – The Epoch Times
The Minnesota National Guard is ‘prepared to be deployed if necessary,’ the governor said.
Gov. Tim Walz prepared the Minnesota National Guard to be deployed in the state after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot protester Renee Nicole Good during an operation in Minneapolis on Jan. 7.
“I’ve issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard,” Walz said during a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
“We have soldiers in training and [are] prepared to be deployed if necessary.”
The Democrat, who was picked by then-Vice President Kamala Harris to be her 2024 vice presidential nominee, urged Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem not to send “any further help.” Read more

We ask You to watch over this division happening in Minnesota as Governor Walz has decided to prepare the National Guard to be called in if needed in case violence erupts on the streets. Lord, we grieve over the loss of the life of this young woman who was killed. Be with her family as they mourn. Our Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, has defended the Ice Agents saying that the lady stalked and impeded the ice agents from carrying out their duties all day and called it a case of Domestic Terrorism. It is alleged that she tried to run over the ICE agents with her car as she tried to leave even after she was warned. We ask that you, Lord, be with the FBI and Minnesota's Criminal Apprehension program as they discern and bring forth truth concerning this case. Lord, teach us to realize that we can not become entangled in the affairs of others so that we do not create chaos and make matters worse. In Jesus' name, we offer this prayer. Amen.

Thank you for a President that seeks to put America first! President Trump has now withdrawn the United States from 66 international organizations, conventions and treaties that are said to go against our country's interest. God, let our government stand with him as he continues the betterment of America. As Marco Rubio has stated, " The institutions in question have been found to be redundant in their scope, mismanaged, unnecessary, wasteful, poorly run, and are captured by the actors advancing their own agendas, contrary to our own, or a threat to our nation's sovereignty, freedoms and general prosperity." Lord, we ask you to keep your eyes on America and give wisdom, discernment and knowledge to our president and his administration as they discern the times.
Lord God, as we enter into the promise of Your coming, give us eyes to see and ears to hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying in all situations. Let Your will be done in America and your kingdom come as we offer this prayer to You, in Jesus' name. Amen.

President Donald Trump on Jan. 7 announced he’s taking steps to bar large investors from purchasing more single-family homes, in a bid to offset concerns about inflation and the cost of living.

In a world of high inflation, President Trump has had to look for ways to make achieving the American dream of owning a home more accessible.
Once again, we thank You, for a president that is looking for measures that will make owning a home more affordable by banning large institutional investors from purchasing single family homes.
As he brings this before Congress to codify this measure, we ask that they be united in what is best for America and not argue between party lines. Give us a united Congress as they come to an agreement on this measure that will reduce home prices so that old and young can afford to own a home. Lord, as our president marches towards a better and more affordable America, we ask for protection and wisdom for him. Surround him with peace. In Jesus' name, we offer this prayer. Amen.

Turkish pro-government media has openly declared Israel the region’s “number one threat” following Israel’s expanding cooperation with Greece and Cyprus. While this language has not yet appeared in a formal Turkish defense doctrine, it reflects a measurable shift in posture. Independent reporting confirms that Ankara’s rhetoric toward Israel has hardened, especially as Turkey aligns more closely with Iran and positions itself against emerging Mediterranean security frameworks. Nations rarely escalate language without intent. Words precede policy. And policy often precedes action. For students of Scripture, this moment feels familiar. The map is not exploding into chaos. It is settling into recognizable lines.
The Bible describes a future northern coalition forming against Israel, led by Gog of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, regions long associated with modern Turkey. Ezekiel records that Persia joins this alignment, along with Cush and Put (Ezekiel 38:2,5). Persia is Iran. Cush historically corresponds to regions of today’s Sudan. Put aligns with Libya and North Africa. Ezekiel does not describe ideology. He describes geography. Today, Turkey and Iran are coordinating more openly. Iranian influence runs through Syria and Iraq. Turkish leaders speak of Israel not as a neighbor, but as a destabilizing adversary. Whether or not Ankara intends to fulfill prophecy is irrelevant. Tim Walz Ends Reelection Campaign amid $19B Minnesota Fraud Scandal

After losing his bid for the vice presidency late in 2024, Minnesota’s far-left governor is ditching his reelection efforts for his current office in the face of allegations of widespread fraud and corruption.
In September, Tim Walz (D) announced he would be running for a third term as governor of Minnesota, but reversed course in a press conference Monday, admitting that the Somali fraud scandal in his state has effectively ended his political career. “For the last several years, an organized group of criminals have sought to take advantage of our state’s generosity. And even as we make progress in the fight against the fraudsters, we now see an organized group of political actors seeking to take advantage of the crisis,” Walz said, faulting President Donald Trump and his administration for shining a light on the billions of dollars of fraud committed by Somali immigrants in Minnesota. “They want to poison our people against each other by attacking our neighbors. And, ultimately, they want to take away much of what makes Minnesota the best place in America to raise a family.”
“Make no mistake: We should be concerned about fraud in our state government. We cannot effectively deliver programs and services if we can’t earn the public’s trust,” said Walz, who was the failed Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2024. “A single taxpayer dollar wasted on fraud is a dollar too much to tolerate. And while there’s a role to play for everyone — from the legislature to prosecutors to insurance companies to local and county government — the buck stops with me,” he continued.
Previously, a coalition of nearly 500 employees from Minnesota’s Department of Human Services reported that Walz “systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression, and did his best to discredit fraud reports. Instead of partnership, we got the full weight of retaliation by Tim Walz” and other state Democrats. The state employees further alleged that Walz rewarded officials for covering fraud and discrediting fraud reports. “These same leaders are not qualified for their jobs, instead getting leadership jobs via Tim Walz’s friendship so state government were left floundering.”
In his Monday statement, Walz claimed that he was withdrawing his reelection bid due to Republicans’ politicization of the fraud scandal, rather than the allegations that he himself had enabled said fraud. “We’ve got the President of the United States demonizing our Somali neighbors and wrongly confiscating childcare funding that Minnesotans rely on. It is disgusting. And it is dangerous. Republicans are playing politics with the future of our state. And it’s shameful,” he said, referring to the Trump administration’s decision to withhold federal child care funding until Walz complies with a federal investigation into the fraud, particularly the fraudulent operation of nonexistent day care centers. “I cannot abide the actions of the political leadership in Washington — these opportunists who are willing to hurt our people to score a few cheap points,” the retiring governor continued. “They and their allies have no intention of helping us solve the problem — and every intention of profiting off of it.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

I’m not a pessimist, but the problem is impossible to ignore. An entire generation has been dubbed “iPad kids” — children handed tablets as digital pacifiers from infancy and now struggling to function without them. We’ve all seen the signs: the toddler melting down in a restaurant until the screen returns; the teenager perpetually hunched over a phone, avoiding real interaction; the young adult whose personality is almost as predictable as their TikTok algorithm. These are not mere quirks but signals of a profound shift in how a generation learns to connect, cope, and grow.
It doesn’t take much, at least for me, to glance at our world today and feel a wave of deep discouragement wash over. Smartphones, tablets, and endless social media feeds have woven themselves into the fabric of daily life, often at the expense of everything else — or at least so much of what makes life beautiful. Even I still remember a time when we weren’t tethered like this — when conversations flowed freely at dinner tables, eyes met across park benches, and moments unfolded without the urge to capture or scroll. Now, whether in a bustling restaurant, on crowded public transit, or amid the quiet of a park, it’s rare to see faces lifted toward one another instead of buried in glowing screens.
Once vibrant and distinct personalities are dissolving into a homogenized blur, swept along by the insatiable pursuit of fleeting trends. Authenticity grows ever more elusive, while civility — fragile at best — dissipates in the toxic haze of a single comment thread. Most heartbreaking of all, our children, innocent and unwitting, are now becoming victims of a predatory system they didn’t choose, one whose insidious dangers lie far beyond their juvenile comprehension.
Yet, as tempting as it is to sink into pessimism, I refuse to believe our situation is hopeless. Technology’s grip may feel ironclad, but it’s not unbreakable. Like all good pursuits, reclaiming balance demands deliberate discipline. It starts small: choosing to silence notifications during meals, leaving the phone in another room for an evening walk, committing to device-free zones in our homes and gatherings, and ensuring our children are being guided properly. It’s hard, especially when this way of life goes against the current, but the reward is rediscovering the richness of what’s real — the warmth of unhurried conversation, the subtle beauty of the world around us, the deeper connections that screens so often dilute.
You, me, and everyone around us… we all have daily choices to make. Step a little away from the digital so that we may step further into what’s real. It won’t be easy, but it’s within our reach. And in those reclaimed moments, we might just find the discouragement giving way to quiet hope.

Father God, forgive us for not seeing (or ignoring) the dangers to our kids from the different screen technologies that have become commonplace in our society. We have used smartphones, computers and gaming equipment to babysit our children; and our kids have become addicted to this tech based way of life. According to various in depth research studies, we have learned that our precious little ones have been affected adversely in a number of areas by their frequent or constant use of internet “devices”. Father, we know that unmonitored use of devices can lead to dangers of many kinds, especially online stranger-danger and inappropriate content. Lord, help us to parent wisely and set good examples.
Abba, we confess that many in our society are now addicted to using various “devices” and substitute them for reality, especially real, face-to-face interactions with real people. Have we left our First Love and the calling to be ambassadors for You? Set us free!
Please impart Your wisdom for parents to find the proper balance for each of our kids’ use of the devices and the ages they may begin to use them. May it become a priority to monitor our own use as well and to spend as much quality time with our young ones and teens as possible. Last of all, Abba, we ask that there be appropriate controls and limits on the use of social media formats.

Pro-life leaders slam Trump for urging GOP lawmakers to be ‘flexible’ on Hyde Amendment

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — President Donald Trump triggered a massive pushback from pro-life Americans when he advised a meeting of Republican lawmakers to be “flexible” on longstanding Hyde Amendment protections for the pre-born.
Speaking to GOP members of congress at the Kennedy Center just two weeks before the annual National March for Life in D.C., the president said that flexibility is needed as Republicans attempt to pass healthcare legislation.
Pro-life leaders were quick to react with thundering criticism.
“The GOP must stand firm for human life,” declared LiveAction Founder Lila Rose. “No exceptions. No inch given.”
“If you sacrifice Hyde, you sacrifice innocent human children,” added Rose.
“On its face, Trump’s request is absurd,” Rescue Resurrection founder Randall Terry told LifeSiteNews in an exclusive interview. “It’s like asking runaway slaves to compromise with their tyrannical slave masters.”
“The pro-life movement’s first obligation is to the babies and their mothers, not to the Republican Party,” said Terry.
“This is where we’re going to be tested,” predicted the pro-life icon. “I’ve been very concerned about pro-life groups wanting their pictures taken with the president more than they want to show pictures of the victims of this genocide.”
“For decades, opposition to taxpayer funding of abortion and support for the Hyde Amendment has been an unshakeable bedrock principle and a minimum standard in the Republican Party,” noted SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a statement. “To suggest Republicans should be ‘flexible’ is an abandonment of this decades-long commitment. If Republicans abandon Hyde, they are sure to lose this November.”
“The voters sent a GOP trifecta to Washington and they expect it to govern like one. Giving in to Democrat demands that our tax dollars are used to fund plans that cover abortion on demand until birth would be a massive betrayal,” said Dannenfelser.
“15 members of Congress who lost in 2010 can tell you Hyde is non-negotiable,” added Dannenfelser on X.
“We will not compromise on Hyde,” said Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, responding to the president’s infelicitous remarks.

My quest for the ark of the covenant was abruptly disrupted at 35,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean. Three hours into our flight to Israel and several hundred miles south of Greenland, the pilot announced that we were turning back to the US because Israel had closed its air space. Israel’s attack on Iran had begun.
Unlike Indiana Jones, I was not searching for the ark as it might exist today. The ark disappeared from the pages of the Bible during the latter days of the kingdom of Judah.
Instead of the ark’s departure from the Jerusalem temple, its arrival interested me. The arrival of the ark of the covenant designated Jerusalem as the Holy City of God.
The City of David is the most ancient area of Jerusalem, a narrow ridge that begins near the southern wall of the Temple Mount and descends to the Pool of Siloam near where the Kidron and Hinnom valleys intersect.
Nineteenth-century photos of a bare hillside give little hint that a forgotten ancient city is buried underneath. Archaeologists began working in this area in the late 1800s and are still there to the present day, all while settlements spread across the hillside. But it wasn’t until the 21st century that the City of David became an attraction for groups of pilgrims and tourists eager to see biblical discoveries.
