Sleeper Cell Fears: Five Iranian Nationals Caught Sneaking Past U.S. Northern Border
|
|
|
U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested five Iranian nationals attempting to cross illegally from Canada near Mooers Forks, New York. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed the arrest Tuesday, noting that the individuals had been previously caught attempting illegal entry.
“On July 1, Border Patrol Agents from the Champlain, New York Station, responded to suspicious activity near Mooers Forks, NY,” the agency stated. Agents intercepted a minivan carrying five Iranians and two Uzbeks. All seven were already on CBP’s radar and are now “detained and pending removal proceedings.”
Border security is national security and directly correlates to public safety,” CBP added. The arrest happened in the Swanton Sector, a rural but high-risk area near Vermont’s border with Canada that has seen increased illegal crossings in recent years. (Charisma News) Read more here.

US, European Allies Agree on August Deadline for Iran Nuclear Deal: Report

If Iran and the US cannot reach a deal by August, Germany, France, and the UK will reimpose UNSC sanctions that were lifted under the 2015 Iran deal.

The four nations are reportedly considering the potential implementation of snapback measures before Russia, a critical Iranian ally, assumes the presidency of the UNSC.
Europe to push Iran on steps to make a deal
While the West seems to view the snapback measures as a way to bring Tehran to the negotiating table, Iran argues that they aren't legally valid and has threatened to withdraw from the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in response.
Axios reported that the European allies now plan to convey to Iranian officials that they can avoid the sanctions if they take steps to demonstrate their commitment to achieving a deal of sorts. The report gave examples of steps Tehran could take, such as resuming operations with the International Atomic Energy Agency or removing 400 kg of enriched uranium from nuclear sites.
This comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked US President Donald Trump not to block the snapback measures in their recent meeting in Washington, Axios reported.
Netanyahu also reportedly told Trump to press the Iranians to make a deal quickly in order to avoid imposing sanctions.
"We felt that Trump and his team agreed with us," an Israeli official told Axios. (Jerusalem Post) Read more here.

Holy Spirit, we ask You to move on the hearts of those in Iran making these decisions, cause them to be very aware of the damage inflicted by the US and Israel to their nuclear sites a few short weeks ago. Let fear of another such attack bring the awareness that without compromise it will open the door to not only attacks but sanctions that will be costly to all in Iran. China's Digital ID Nightmare:
A Blueprint for Global Tyranny

China's government has taken yet another monumental step toward absolute digital control. Beginning this week, Beijing will roll out a centralized digital ID system that links every online user to a government-assigned code -- a code tied not just to names, but to facial scans and vast troves of personal information. The regime claims it will protect privacy. But make no mistake: this is not about privacy. It's about power.
For years, China has enforced a "real-name registration" policy, meaning most online activities were already linked to users' identities. But now, that data pipeline will bypass companies like Alibaba or Weibo and flow directly into the hands of the state. Beijing alone will oversee this identification system, making it the master key to every Chinese citizen's digital life.
If that doesn't unsettle you, it should.
Under the new policy, Chinese citizens must submit biometric data -- including facial scans -- in exchange for a single ID that grants access to everything from shopping and gaming to communicating with coworkers. On paper, this is "voluntary," but experts rightly suspect that it will soon become impossible to live or work without it. Once accepted widely, refusal will mean digital exile: being cut off from the very tools that power daily life -- payment apps, public transportation, communication platforms.
Beijing has justified the move under the guise of "data security," claiming it will shield users from fraud, leaks, and unscrupulous corporations. But the central irony is glaring: in trying to protect citizens from private misuse of data, the government is monopolizing that power for itself. One shield has been replaced with another -- this time held by the hand of the surveillance state.

We ask You, Holy Spirit, to sew "bugs" into all the applications that will stop the processing and corrupt not only the applications but the hard drives as well. Make it impossible for these "control mechanisms" to work, bring down all internal hardware requiring it to be replaced. Jesus, we ask You to protect all those living under this godless government, giving special attention to all who call on Your name in the underground church. Israel Defends The Druze:
A Prophetic Reminder of the Fate of Damascus

Over the past 48hrs, the skies over Syria have lit up with fire once again. Islamic militias--radical factions with deep ties to jihadist ideology--have launched coordinated assaults on the Druze community, particularly near the Golan Heights. In response, Israel has taken swift and decisive action to defend the Druze, bombing over a hundred Syrian military and militia-linked targets. It was only last week that there was talk of a possible peace accord between Israel and Syria. It's hard to see how that will now happen anytime soon.
The Druze, a small ethnoreligious group with a long and complex history in the Middle East, have long maintained relative peace with Israel. Many Druze serve in the Israeli Defense Forces, and their villages dot the borderlands of the Golan. For Israel, allowing radical Islamic militias to overrun Druze territory would not only be a humanitarian betrayal but also a strategic disaster. The defense of the Druze is not only a moral imperative for Israel--it's a national security one.
But this flare-up is not happening in a vacuum. Syria's so-called "new leadership"--which was hoped by some international observers to usher in a fresh era of diplomacy--has proven to be little more than a reshuffled collection of old actors cloaked in new robes. Though the civil war has left Syria fractured and fatigued, Islamic fundamentalists still hold influence across swaths of territory, especially where central government control is weak or absent. The promise of reform has quickly withered under the weight of warlord politics, regional interference, and extremist dogma.
This particular escalation may seem localized and containable, especially given Israel's military might and technological advantage. Yet it serves as a chilling reminder of how volatile the region remains. While Israel's air force may succeed in pushing back these militias today, the underlying forces--religious extremism, regional ambition, and deep historical grievances--are not so easily extinguished.
And this brings us to an ancient warning--a prophetic one--found in the pages of Scripture. In Isaiah 17:1, we read a stunning declaration: "See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins." (Read more here.)

Trump orders Bondi to release Jeffrey Epstein-related grand jury testimony
|
|
|
President Trump late Thursday ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to seek the release of grand jury testimony related to Jeffrey Epstein as his administration faces pressure to disclose more details on the late sex offender.
"Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval," Mr. Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. "This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!"
Bondi wrote in a post on X minutes later, "we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts."
A judge will need to make the final decision on whether material can be released, which could take some time and is unlikely to be immediate.
It's unclear what material the Trump administration will ask to be released. It's not clear how much of the Epstein-related material in the government's possession is grand jury testimony.
Epstein was investigated by federal authorities in Florida in the 2000s, which ended in a non-prosecution agreement and a guilty plea on state prostitution charges, and he was later charged with child sex trafficking in Manhattan in 2019. (Fox News) Read more.

1. Netanyahu’s strategy in Syria: Demilitarization and Druze protection - JNS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified Israel’s two-pronged strategic goal in Syria on Thursday—ensuring southern Syria is demilitarized and protecting the Druze of that region.
Netanyahu defined southern Syria as an area running from the Golan Heights to Jabal al-Druze, a region encompassing nearly all of the Sweida governorate, recently the site of massacres perpetrated by regime-linked Syrian forces against the Druze community.
The Syrian regime violated both red lines, Netanyahu said. “It sent troops south of Damascus into an area that was supposed to remain demilitarized, and it began massacring Druze. That was something we could not accept under any circumstances.
“Therefore, I instructed the IDF to act—and to act with force. The Air Force struck both the murderous militias and the armored vehicles. I also added a target—to strike the Ministry of Defense in Damascus,” he said. (Read more)

2. Syrian gov’t withdraws its forces from Druze areas after 350 dead & heavy Israeli strikes on Damascus - All Israel News
After over 350 people were killed in the days-long fighting in southern Syria’s Suwayda province, the Syrian regime started withdrawing its forces on Wednesday evening after escalating Israeli strikes and intense diplomatic efforts and mediation by the U.S.
According to Syria’s interior ministry, a ceasefire agreement reached with the Druze leadership called for a “total and immediate halt to all military operations,” as well as the formation of a committee of government officials and Druze to supervise its implementation.
The defense ministry later confirmed it had “begun withdrawing from the city of Suwayda in implementation of the terms of the adopted agreement after the end of the sweep of the city for outlaw groups.”
Despite the government’s claims that its forces were sent to impose order, reports by Druze in Suwayda indicated they had joined the fighting on the side of Bedouin tribes, attacking Druze-populated areas and committing atrocities. (Read more)

3. Netanyahu mourns victims of Gaza church attack, IDF investigates

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday night mourned those killed after a missile accidentally hit a Gaza church.
"Israel deeply regrets that a stray ammunition hit Gaza's Holy Family Church," Netanyahu said. "Every innocent life lost is a tragedy. We share the grief of the families and the faithful. We are grateful to Pope Leo for his words of comfort. Israel is investigating the incident and remains committed to protecting civilians and holy sites."
Three people were killed and nine injured after a stray missile hit the Holy Family Church on Thursday morning. One of the injured is in critical condition.
According to Vatican News, Holy Family is Gaza's only Catholic church. (Read more)

4. Israel to up output of Arrow anti-ballistic missiles - World Israel News
The Israeli Defense Ministry on Thursday announced a contract to significantly increase production of Arrow anti-ballistic missile interceptor systems, highlighting the system’s critical role during the recent war with Iran.
Developed jointly by Israel and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, the Arrow system played a vital role in Israel’s multi-tiered missile defense during the 12-day war, “Operation Rising Lion,” which lasted from June 13 to June 24.
The system provides exo-atmospheric and endo-atmospheric interception capabilities, defending against a wide range of ballistic missile threats, including those targeting strategic locations at long range.
Its performance was especially notable during the war, delivering many successful interceptions and significantly reducing casualties and economic losses. (Read more)

5. Israeli envoy condemns ‘glaring silence’ from UN agencies- JNS
Reut Shapir Ben-Naftaly, political coordinator for the Israeli mission to the United Nations, criticized several U.N. agencies during a U.N. Security Council meeting on Wednesday, including the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, which she said “has continued to abandon all semblance of neutrality and impartiality.”
“The glaring silence of this council about Israeli children, about hostages, murdered toddlers like the Bibas boys, on traumatized survivors who will never see their parents again, on children running for shelter as Iranian missiles rained down on civilian population centres, is more than a technical mission,” the Israeli diplomat told the council. “It is a moral failure.”
Ben-Naftaly told the council that Tom Fletcher, U.N. under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs, neglected to mention Tzeela Gez, an Israeli who was murdered in a terror attack in May en route to the hospital to give birth, when he discussed Palestinian casualties in Judea and Samaria. 1. Is This the Beginning of the End for Damascus? What Will Iran and Turkey Do? - Discern Report
When I heard that the IDF had just bombed the Ministry of Defense and the Presidential Palace in Damascus, I could hardly believe it. I thought that we would have at least a short period of relative stability in the Middle East, but perhaps I was wrong. In my opinion, Israel and the new government in Syria are now essentially in a state of war. According to Israeli authorities, the IDF has already conducted 160 airstrikes inside Syrian territory and they are fully prepared to conduct even more…
As of Wednesday afternoon, the IDF had undertaken 160 aerial attacks on Syrian regime forces in and around the vicinity of Sweida in southern Syria, where Israel says the regime’s forces are slaughtering Syrian Druze.
In addition, the IDF has attacked, and possibly destroyed, Syria’s Defense Ministry, and also attacked part of the Presidential Palace in Damascus. Dozens or more Syrian regime forces are said to have been killed in IDF attacks.
IDF sources said that the military is ready for a multi-day campaign to convince Syrian regime forces to withdraw from Sweida and leave the Syrian Druze their autonomy.

We speak that only Your plans and Your timeline will prevail as to when the events prophesied in the Your Word will come to pass. We speak a path toward peace and the disposing of evil governments and their evil intentions toward Israel. Lord, we desire, as do You, that all will come to the Lord and be saved and we pray that there will be more time for this to happen rather than the complete destruction of Damascus at this time. We ask You to protect the Israeli forces as they seek to defend the minority populations there and give them a safe place to live. We pray that You will give the Israeli commanders wisdom in when and how to strike for maximum effect and that they, too, will look to You for divine wisdom and all supplies needed.

(The Epoch Times)—The U.S. Senate on July 16 voted to pass $9 billion in spending cuts requested by President Donald Trump, including cuts to National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
The measure passed in a 51–48 vote. Two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), voted against the bill. Although having voted against the bill in an earlier procedural vote, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) decided to back the bill. Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) missed the vote due to being in hospital.
The early morning passage of the bill came after a long voting series with a flurry of amendments from Democratic lawmakers.
The passage of the spending cuts, called rescissions, marks a major political win for Trump and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.).
Speaking after the vote, Thune said of the rescissions bill, “It’s a small but important step toward fiscal sanity that we all should be able to agree is long overdue.”
Moments earlier, he said of what could become the first rescissions passed by Congress in 35 years, “Our country is 36 trillion dollars in debt. We can’t keep doing things the way we’ve been doing them. What we’re talking about here is 1/10th of 1 percent of all federal spending but it’s a step in the right direction.” (Read more here)

We pray that this is just the beginning of fiscal conservatism that will roll back the debt and provide a better future for our country. 3. Trump Signals Low Likelihood of Firing Fed Chair Powell – The Epoch Times
The president said it’s ‘highly unlikely’ that he would fire Powell unless the Fed chair had to
‘leave for fraud.’ President Donald Trump said on July 16 that he was not planning on firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, following weeks of criticism directed at the central bank chief for not lowering interest rates.
Trump has repeatedly left the possibility of ousting Powell on the table, with Treasury
Secretary Scott Bessent telling Bloomberg Television on Tuesday that the “formal process”
for selecting a successor to Powell is already underway.
Powell, who was nominated to chair the Fed in 2017 by Trump, began his second term in
2022. His term expires in May 2026.
Bloomberg reported early Wednesday that Trump was likely to fire Powell soon, leading to a drop in stocks and the dollar, and an increase in Treasury yields. Trump denied the report but said he had discussed the topic of ousting Powell with Republican lawmakers on Tuesday evening.
“I don’t rule out anything but I think it’s highly unlikely unless he has to leave for fraud,”
Trump said, referring to recent criticism from the White House and GOP lawmakers that
renovation costs on the Fed’s headquarters in Washington have climbed to $2.5 billion. (Read more here)

distributing food in Gaza, is under fire from critics who say hundreds of Gazans have been
killed near its distribution sites.

commissioner for the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.
“We have one mission, to feed the people of Gaza in a way that Hamas—a designated
terrorist organization in the United States and Europe—can’t steal the food because for
many, many years, Hamas has been stealing the food of the Gazan people,” Moore says.
“The problem in Gaza is that the United Nations and other international agencies created a
system which empowered virtually every bad actor and every bad force in the Gaza Strip to

5. Trump Admin Appeals Judge’s Order to Halt Southern California Immigration Operations – The Epoch Times
The White House calls the restraining order a ‘gross overstep,’ adding that enforcement
requires ’skills far beyond the purview or jurisdiction of any judge.’
The Trump administration asked an appeals court on July 14 to allow immigration
operations to resume without restrictions in Southern California after a federal judge
ordered a stop to the government’s activities.
U.S. District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong issued a temporary restraining order on July 11, stopping the administration from carrying out immigration enforcement actions in the seven-county Central District of California, which includes Los Angeles.
The ruling, based on the Fourth Amendment, ordered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to stop detaining people based on their race, spoken language or accent, job, or presence at certain locations such as bus stops.
In a July 16 statement, the White House said the judge lacks the authority to decide
immigration policy. “No federal judge has the authority to dictate immigration policy—that authority rests with Congress and the president,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said in an emailed response to The Epoch Times. (Read more here)

6. Trump Believes Russia Will Win In Ukraine, It's Just A Matter Of How Long – ZeroHedge
"The president’s view is Russia is going to win, it’s a matter of how long it takes," said a senior, unnamed White House official to Politico this week, reflecting on President Trump's view on where the war stands.
"Russia has the bigger economy, has the bigger military, has more than enough bodies to throw into the meat grinder, and just doesn’t care. And although they are making slow progress, they are still making progress," the official added. "The president just wants to stop the killing."
Trump has pivoted to placing more of the responsibility for assisting Ukraine on NATO. For example, during an Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte he emphasized that Europeans must finally pay their fair share.
"We’re not buying it, but we will manufacture it, and they’re going to be paying for it," Trump said while invoking "very rich" European allies. White House releases Trump health update after speculation over swollen legs, bruised hands
|

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed additional details about President Donald Trump's health after photos showed some bruising on the back of his hands and apparently swollen legs.
"I know that many in the media have been speculating about bruising on the president's hand and also swelling in the president's legs," she said Thursday. "So, in the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician with all of you today."
Leavitt read a memo explaining that the swollen legs were part of a "benign and common condition" for individuals older than age 70, while the bruising on his hands was attributable to "frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin."
"In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs," Leavitt said Thursday during a press briefing. "In keeping with routine medical care and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House Medical Unit.
"The president underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies, bilateral lower extremity … venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70," Leavitt said.
"Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease," she continued. "Laboratory testing included a complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel coagulation profile, D-dimer, B-type natriuretic peptide and cardiac biomarkers. All results were within normal limits. An echocardiogram was also performed and confirmed normal cardiac structure and function. Trump Admin. Streamlines Detentions and Immigration Courts

In a bid to follow through on his campaign’s most high-profile pledges, President Donald Trump and his deputies are accelerating deportation and border security efforts. The Trump administration’s aggressive approach to illegal immigration has already resulted in the lowest recorded number of border crossings in the nation’s history, with June seeing a total of zero illegal immigrants released across the country’s southern border into the interior. Now, immigration authorities are taking further measures to ensure that illegal immigrants are kept out of the U.S.
In a memo last week, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Todd Lyons instructed that illegal immigrants — both those stopped at the border and those arrested by ICE in the interior — will no longer be eligible to apply for bond hearings while fighting deportation orders but must be detained “for the duration of their removal proceedings.” In the memo, obtained by The Washington Post, Lyons explained that the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and Justice (DOJ) have “revisited” their prior “legal position on detention and release authorities” and concluded that any illegal immigrant detained by ICE “may not be released from ICE custody.”
Previous policies have allowed illegal immigrants arrested in the interior without serious non-immigration-related criminal charges or convictions, such as murder or rape, to seek a bond hearing. ICE argued that the policy revision “closes” that “loophole” in order to enforce the “law as it was actually written to keep America safe.” The new policy has been partly enabled by a provision of the “Big Beautiful Bill” allocating approximately $45 billion for ICE detention facilities. According to multiple reports, illegal immigrants are already being denied bond hearings across the country, although some immigration judges are granting such hearings, prompting ICE to appeal.
The Trump administration has also begun firing immigration judges. According to a report from NPR, 15 sitting immigration judges were informed by the DOJ last week that their employment will end July 22, and another two were fired Monday. NPR noted that 50 immigration judges have been fired since Trump returned to the White House in January.

- Father God, we ask that You impart a desire for unity, truth, and common sense within our elected officials in Congress and in the various House and Senate committees. We pray that words would not be twisted to manipulate and denigrate the ‘other side’, and that the game-playing would cease.
It is common sense that government agents who are trying to enforce the laws of the land under orders should not be shot at and have bricks and rocks thrown at them and their vehicles. Calling groups that advocate this behavior ‘religious, faith-based organizations’ will not pass the test of a godly organization. The religious freedom argument does not fit.
Lord, as You have designed for the United States of America, simplified: if some people don’t like or agree with certain laws, then they work to change the law. If enough people agree, the law will be changed. In the meantime (and it is ‘mean’ right now, Lord) we earnestly pray that all elected officials would work to uphold the current laws of the land and not hinder their enforcement. May those who desire change, work within the boundaries provided by our Constitution.

Who Is Zohran Mamdani? The Radical Views of NYC’s Socialist Mayoral Candidate

New York City’s race for mayor has captured national headlines after radical socialist Democrat Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic nomination. Many of New York City’s Democrats have been enraptured by the young politician’s progressive promises since the beginning of his career. But his radical beliefs have never been on display like they are now.
Mamdani was born in Uganda to Mahmood Mamdani, an Indian-Ugandan academic, and filmmaker Mira Nair. His family then moved to the United States and settled in New York City when he was seven, where he acquired an educational background in Africana studies. Mamdani worked as a housing counselor before entering local politics and has been making headlines since his election to New York’s State Assembly in 2020.
As an outspoken member of the Democratic Socialists of America, Mamdani has a number of concerning views. According to their webpage, the DSA supports defunding the police; closing local jails; free housing, water, energy, transit, and food; a 32-hour, four-day work week “with no reduction in wages or benefits;” the elimination of fossil fuels; “demilitariz[ing] the border and end[ing] all immigrant detention;” abolishing ICE; giving illegal immigrants voting rights; “abolish[ing] the US Senate;” and “A second constitutional convention to write the founding documents of a new socialist democracy,” among other frightening objectives.
Although his election to higher office may seem unrealistic and unlikely, many of Mamdani’s campaign promises derive from the radical DSA agenda. According to Mamdani’s campaign website, he plans to “permanently eliminate the fare on every city bus,” “implement free childcare for every New Yorker aged 6 weeks to 5 years,” “create a network of city-owned grocery stores,” and “triple the City’s production of permanently affordable, union-built, rent-stabilized homes.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Wednesday’s magnitude 7.3 earthquake off Alaska's Aleutian Islands chain struck in a region that has experienced a handful of powerful quakes within the last five years — including one that shook communities almost exactly two years earlier.
Officials said Thursday they had received no reports of injuries or major damage from the latest event, which triggered a tsunami warning that lasted about an hour before being downgraded and prompted communities along a 700-mile (1,127-km) stretch of Alaska’s southern coast to urge people to move to higher ground. The official maximum wave height at Sand Point, a community 55 miles (88 kilometers) north of the epicenter, was about 3.9 inches (10 centimeters), said Kara Sterling, a lead duty scientist at the National Tsunami Warning Center. It occurred at low tide.
Earthquake sparked tsunami warnings
The earthquake struck at 12:37 p.m. local time, prompting the center's tsunami warning.
There are a number of ways people in warning areas can receive notifications, including the sounding of sirens in communities that have them, listening to weather radio or public radio broadcasts, following official accounts on social media, or via push alerts on cellphones.
