JD and Usha Vance Welcome a Baby Boy,
the First Child Born to a Sitting VP in More Than 150 Years

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President JD Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance, on Sunday announced the birth of their fourth child, the first born to a sitting vice president in more than 150 years.
Born Sunday, Alec Neel Vance joins older siblings Ewan, 9; Vivek, 6; and Mirabel, 4. Vance announced the birth on social media with a statement signed by him and his wife. “We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother,” the statement said.
They thanked doctors and staff at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and with the White House medical team. The Republican vice president’s growing family is in keeping with his passionate advocacy for Americans to have more children. He has also suggested that the 2025 killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was his friend, factored into the decision to have another child.
Vance, a former U.S. Marine, repeatedly expressed alarm about declining birth rates in America as he launched his political career in 2021 with a bid for a U.S. Senate seat from Ohio. Speaker Mike Johnson's bid to end run Democrats' opposition to an election integrity bill backed by President Donald Trump survived a key House-wide vote on Tuesday.
It's a major victory for Republicans in a fight that Democrats have argued is about suppressing Americans' right to vote, while the GOP argues it is about enhancing Americans' confidence in the electoral process.
The Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act has faced significant headwinds in Congress despite having Trump’s full-throated support. While it passed the House, the legislation has struggled in the Senate, where at least several Democratic votes are needed to break a filibuster and advance to final passage.
But the new plan by Johnson, R-La., which would allow key parts of the bill to skirt Democrats entirely, survived a key test vote on the House floor Tuesday.
The House voted largely along party lines to allow for debate on a $95 billion budget bill that includes some $10 billion for states to implement voter ID laws and a proof-of-citizenship requirement in the voter registration process — both key points in the SAVE America Act.
It's part of a wider measure being passed via the budget reconciliation process.
The reconciliation process allows the party in power to pass sweeping fiscal policy reforms without input from their opposition by lowering the Senate’s threshold for passage to line up with the House’s simple majority requirement.
The second chamber-wide step in the reconciliation process after Tuesday's successful vote is to pass a framework that directs the relevant committees to then craft details dealing with their allocated budgets. Those details are then put back into a single sweeping bill that must pass the House and Senate before getting to Trump’s desk for his signature.

New Visa Restrictions Target Left-Wing Terrorists and Extremists

In a bid to halt left-wing extremism and terrorism in the U.S., President Donald Trump and his deputies are planning to stop the ideology and its backers from being imported from abroad. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced last week that the State Department will begin denying visas to foreign nationals affiliated with or linked to left-wing extremist-terrorist cells or organizations, including foreign nationals who have financed or funded left-wing terrorism in the U.S.
“Far-left terrorist and aligned groups often use sophisticated, organized networks to perpetrate violence as a political tool — seeking to implement an extreme political vision through intimidation and coordinated campaigns of terror,” Rubio said in a press release, charging that the actions of left-wing actors “undermine the political foundations of free and self-governing societies.”
To halt the spread of such violence and political unrest, Rubio confirmed that the State Department is implementing a new visa restriction policy to keep left-wing terrorist affiliates out of the country. “This policy will safeguard the American homeland by restricting entry of foreign nationals who finance, recruit, incite, or otherwise enable terrorist, violent, and criminal Far-Left Terrorist networks,” he said, “closing the visa pathways that Far-Left Terrorists and other aligned groups exploit to threaten American lives, undermine economic stability, and coordinate violent action on U.S. soil.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

Investigation reveals $7.7 million in foreign government-backed financing behind

The ISDB’s funding comes in the form of a sharia loan known as istisna, and current 501(c) rules impose no meaningful public disclosure requirements on the recipients of foreign loans and mortgages.

A new Middle East Forum investigation reveals that the Islamic Development Bank (ISDB), a multilateral bank whose top shareholders include the governments of Iran, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, has disbursed $7.7 million to finance “CAIR Plaza,” a residential and commercial development in Washington, D.C., designed to provide the Council on American-Islamic Relations with rental income for decades.
CAIR’s own website states that the group “does not receive funding from foreign organizations or governments.”
The ISDB approved the project in 2013 at an estimated cost of $30 million, committing $11 million in sharia-compliant financing alongside $5 million from its Awqaf Properties Investment Fund.
The bank’s 2023 Awqaf fund report records total disbursements of $7.7 million to date.
The listed beneficiary is the Washington Trust Foundation, a 501(c) entity whose stated purpose is to support the CAIR Foundation.
The development at 201 K Street NE, a few blocks from Union Station, comprises 49 apartments and retail space and is listed by its developers at $18.5 million. (World Israel News) Read more here.

Abba, You are the One who created this country to be a light on a hill, a place that sends out Your word and knowledge of You as Savior and Friend. No, We Should Not ‘Abolish the Senate’

In a recent interview, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) evaded a question asking for her opinion on a call to abolish the U.S. Senate, which the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) recently adopted in their platform. "I'm not running for any larger office presently," Ocasio-Cortez answered irrelevantly. "That is, of course, a constitutional question." The interviewer followed up, "But, you support the institution of the Senate itself, as part of the Constitution?" Again, Ocasio-Cortez chose to dodge and weave, "I mean, we've all got our complaints. I don't support the filibuster. I don't support elements of the institution that we know were founded on Jim Crow."
It’s understandable why public officials punt on no-win questions. If Ocasio-Cortez condemned the plan, she would break with her DSA allies; if she endorsed it, she would provide further fodder for her many domestic critics to further undermine her reputation with “middle America.” If Ocasio-Cortez even sought the higher public offices she vehemently denies seeking (the Senate, for instance, or even the presidency), a devastating soundbite could sink a future campaign.
The horns of the dilemma facing Ocasio-Cortez are rooted in an action taken last month by the DSA’s National Political Committee (NPC), which approved a rebooted platform titled “Workers Deserve More!” The document emerged from another committee with unanimous approval and received only minor amendments in the NPC, as it was already nearly as radical as possible. Republicans Have Massive Money Advantage over Democrats Ahead of Midterms

Republicans have a massive money advantage over Democrats ahead of the midterm elections, according to the latest FEC filings.
The Trump super PAC MAGA Inc. reported a whopping $400 million in its latest FEC filing – more specifically, $400,559,788.98. Politico noted that MAGA Inc. added $18 million to the war chest in June alone. Year to date, the PAC has raised almost $100 million.
All the while, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is reporting $128.6 million. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is reporting $55.9 million, along with the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) with $92.7 million. That’s a grand total of about $677 million for Republicans moving into the midterms.
On the Democrat side, the Democrat National Committee (DNC) has $16.3 million, although their debt exceeds that figure, clocking in around $18 million.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) reports $41 million, while the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) reports $79 million. That gives Democrats a total of roughly $136 million.

1. Mossad chief meets CIA director as US, Israel coordinate on Iran - report

Roman Gofman, the new head of the Mossad, met with CIA Director John Ratcliffe during his recent trip to Washington to talk about the war in Iran and the latest developments on the Iranian nuclear program, Axios reported on Wednesday.
This was Gofman's first trip to the US since being named chief of the Mossad back in June.
According to Axios' sources, the visit aimed to coordinate the US and Israel ahead of the ongoing negotiations with Iran and the nuclear issue.
The report also noted that Ratcliffe was among the most pessimistic US officials on the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Iran, warning that the Iranians would have a different interpretation of the deal than the US. (Read more)

2. Italy to host another round of Israel-Lebanon talks - JNS
A new round of U.S.-mediated talks between Israel and Lebanon will be held in Italy on Aug. 4, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said on Wednesday.
Tajani told parliament that Rome will host the seventh round of direct dialogue between the two countries, following meetings held in the Italian capital last week. Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter, who heads the Israeli delegation, revealed the Aug. 4 resumption date to JNS at the end of the last round of talks.
The announcement comes after the Israel Defense Forces began withdrawing from pilot zones in Southern Lebanon following the previous round of talks, a move intended to allow the Lebanese Armed Forces to assume control of those areas. (Read more)

Galei Zahal (Army Radio) on Wednesday published new details on Iran's underground "Pickaxe Mountain" facility, located near Natanz.
According to the report, the site already houses not only centrifuges that have been transferred there, but also all the components required to establish a uranium enrichment facility, although it is reportedly not yet operational.
Assessments indicate that Iran is prepared to establish an underground complex capable of carrying out the entire uranium enrichment process at the site. The report added that the introduction of enriched uranium into the facility would be considered a "bright red line," as it could indicate the capability to enrich uranium to weapons-grade purity of 90%.

A Nigerian Pastor highlighted by President Trump on social media, says that nine members of his family have been killed. The minister is an outspoken critic of the killing of Christians by radicalized Muslim members of the Fulani militia.
Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo now says that the same militia has issued a death threat against him. Dachomo, is the regional leader of the Church of Christ in Nations, in Nigeria’s Middle Belt.

A little-known Nevada law is now facing a legal challenge that could reshape who counts as a Nevada voter. At the center of the fight is a striking fact: some U.S. citizens who have never lived in Nevada, and in some cases have never lived anywhere in the United States, are allowed to cast ballots in the state’s elections.
The rule lets these citizens vote based on where a parent or guardian last lived before leaving the country. 6. ChatGPT maker OpenAI says AI model ‘escaped’ into the internet where it launched ‘unprecedented’ cyberattack - DML News
ChatGPT creator OpenAI has revealed that one of its advanced Artificial Intelligence models went rogue during a security test and hacked into a start-up company.
Bosses said the autonomous agent, which is an AI system that operates alone following human instruction, was being tested in a controlled environment.
But it found vulnerabilities and managed to escape containment before reaching the internet and breaking into Hugging Face, a major hub for sharing AI models. The agent gained access to some internal company systems and compromised the hub’s infrastructure, in what OpenAI described as an ‘unprecedented’ incident. (Read more) |

Stupidocrisy: The Big Tent Keeps Moving Left

The Democratic Party's "big tent" is filling up with openly Marxist and communist candidates. NY Democrat candidate Darializa Avila-Chevalier openly celebrated communist and Marxist ideas on social media. But party leaders largely chose inclusion over condemnation. US Rep Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) defended the "big tent" philosophy. Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) dismissed the candidate's previous statements and welcomed "new members and new ideas." Meanwhile, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) stood almost alone in warning that the "dirtbag left" has become openly anti-American. for Israel, America and the Nations

Greetings from New York City.
We are thankful for God’s protection during the July 4th holiday and the World Cup Final on July 19th in New York and New Jersey, especially with the president and other dignitaries in town.
This newsletter will be a little different than usual. In preparation for this edition, I was reminded of a recent teaching that I wanted to share with you.
It is about the "Prayer Book of the Bible"—the Psalms.
The theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote that many times when Jesus prayed while on earth, He prayed the Psalms. Most of the Psalms were written by King David. Time and again, David poured out his heart before the Lord, yet his prayers consistently end with praise for God's sovereign intervention on his behalf (to name just a few: Psalms 3, 7, 31, 58, 64, 83, 94, and 140). His attitude is never one of accusation against the Lord, nor does he dwell on his own discouragement or helplessness.
It is so easy to be overwhelmed by the situations in our own lives, by what is happening among the nations, or by what we read in the news. By praying the Psalms, we step out of our own thoughts and feelings and into God's perspective. Instead of trying to come up with our own words to impress God, we step directly into the prayer life of Jesus. We are no longer alone in our prayer closets. As our High Priest, He takes our words, joins them with His perfect prayers, and presents them before the throne of God.
We want to encourage you to try it this summer. Begin praying for the leaders, diplomats, and nations of the world using for example Psalm 2. Pray that the leaders would recognize the authority of the Lord. Pray Psalm 101, reminding leaders that they are to govern the nations the Lord has entrusted to their care with integrity and righteousness.
The Psalms speak to every area of our lives, and the Word of the Lord provides guidance and hope for every situation we encounter.
Here are a few prayer points. Feel free to add whatever the Holy Spirit lays on your heart:

- UNRWA: Pray for wisdom and discernment among world leaders regarding the future of UNRWA. Despite critical funding shortages following the U.S. decision to withdraw its support over a lack of reforms, UNRWA remains operational, as UN Secretary-General António Guterres continues to defend the agency as an essential humanitarian lifeline. 'It Has to Be God's Plan': Darline Graham to Run for Senate to Carry on Lindsey Graham's Legacy

Sen. Lindsey Graham's sister, Darline, has announced she'll run for his U.S. Senate seat after his sudden passing on July 11.
Darline Graham Nordone says she has an "inner peace" and a calling to continue her brother's work, which included strong conservative stances on issues like Israel and the pro-life cause.
Last week, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster appointed her to serve out her late brother's current term after his unexpected death. She has already been sworn in to fulfill the remaining months of his term, which expires in January.
ON Monday, she told Fox News' Sean Hannity she'll run for the state's GOP special primary on August 11. She said the realization began when deciding whether to accept the governor's appointment to the Senate.
"It was a shock because it had never entered my mind that I would be asked that question, so it took me a minute to process that. But like I said, it didn't take me long to realize that I felt this inner calling – it has to be God's plan, it has to be God's plan – that I had to carry on his legacy," she said.
Darline Graham also said she had been “praying a lot” about how to navigate her new role. “It is a tremendous amount of pressure," she said.
“I know I’m a hard worker. I learned that from Lindsey,” she said. "I feel like I can do it. I feel an inner peace about it. Will it be difficult? Yes.” (CBN) Read more here.

Father God,
We are rejoicing that Darline Graham Nordone has announced that she will run for the U.S. Senate seat that her brother Lindsey filled before his passing. Thank You, Lord, that You have given her the inner peace she has because that can only come from You. As she runs on August 11th for the state's GOP special primary, President Trump is giving her his full endorsement and we pray, Father, that she will carry with her Your special anointing of being strong in You and having the power of Your might.
We speak divine protection over her as she walks out her brother's legacy of his love for America and Israel. We pray, Lord, for Your divine will to be done in Darline's life and that You will teach her Your righteous ways and give her the boldness of the Lion of Judah. Grant to her the privilege of being a pillar in the Senate and a pillar in the kingdom of God. In the words of President Trump, "Run, Darline, Run'!

National Guard Deployment to DC Will Continue Until Trump’s Term Ends

A new extension of the National Guard’s deployment to Washington will keep guardsmen in the nation’s capital until President Donald Trump’s term ends in more than two years.
The Pentagon confirmed on Thursday that the mission for which National Guard troops were deployed will continue until Jan. 20, 2029, or until the president terminates it.
The extension would allow National Guard members to remain in Washington until the next president is inaugurated, unless Trump ends the deployment early. The deployment was previously scheduled to expire at the end of 2026.

Treasury Intercepted $99 Million in Federal Payments to Deceased People, Bessent Says
|

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday that his department screened hundreds of millions of federal payments and blocked nearly $100 million that was being sent to deceased people as part of a government-wide anti-fraud effort.
“Treasury has delivered on a key promise of President Trump’s mandate to stop improper payments and fraud before money leaves the Treasury, and strengthen the integrity of the federal payment system,” Bessent said in a statement, referring to an initiative that relies on Treasury access to the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) death master list.
The Treasury screened some 885 million payments totaling around $2.77 trillion as part of a new verification process, his department said. Around 4,900 payments worth $99 million “were returned to the originating federal agencies for review before any funds were disbursed,” a Treasury news release said.
While speaking to Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo on July 21, Bessent said his office believes there is “up to $350 million that we can stop before the end of this year” in line with Vice President JD Vance’s anti-fraud task force that was initiated earlier this year.
“This number might be up to $500 billion, which is about 1.66 percent of GDP,“ he added, referring to potentially improper payments that could be blocked. ”So that could go a long way towards paying down the debt, providing more services. And this is just the start.”
In February, Trump signed the “Ending Improper Payments to Deceased People Act,” which authorizes the Treasury Department to access the Social Security death master file to evaluate payments. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Meteorite that crashed into NJ home holds building blocks of life, scientists say
|

A meteorite that crashed through the roof of a New Jersey home two years ago contains some of the building blocks of life, scientists say — and is among the rarest space rocks ever recovered.
The meteorite fell in Hillsborough, New Jersey, on July 16, 2024, and is the subject of a recent study published in Science Advances on July 15 — just in time for its two-year anniversary on Earth.
The homeowner heard a "loud crash" at the time and found a hole in the ceiling that "covered the bed, carpet and surrounding areas," according to a release from the SETI Institute, a private research organization based in Mountain View, California.
"I smelled a strong sulfur-like odor and saw many black fragments," said the homeowner, in a comment originally given to the scientists and researchers at SETI and NASA.
No one was injured at the time, though the property was damaged.
"The meteorite had broken into many fragments, including dust, and a strong sulfur-like odor was present in the 122 air," said the report.
Researchers identified it as a rare intermediate CM1/2 carbonaceous chondrite, one of only two witnessed meteorite falls of that subtype.
"Our cameras in Northford, Connecticut, and Douglassville, Pennsylvania, as well as a doorbell camera in Wayne, New Jersey, captured the meteor, and from that we measured its trajectory.... The path traced back to low in the asteroid belt," said Mike Hankey, operations manager for the American Meteor Society, in a SETI Institute statement.
