Of the many activities planned in conjunction with America’s 250th birthday, none can be expected to be as powerful, as impactful, as rich as what is set to take place April 18-25 along the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Over 480 national leaders from politics, entertainment, ministry, and industry will be gathering at the Museum of the Bible for “America Reads the Bible,” a complete reading of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. Creator and organizer Bunni Pounds, who worked as a political consultant for years before founding the nonpartisan political activism organization Christians Engaged, was touring the museum when struck with inspiration for “America Reads the Bible.” There, Pounds tells The Daily Signal, she had an “encounter with the Lord, about Ezra.”
“It hit me in that moment, looking at Ezra at the Museum of the Bible, that we really need an Ezra moment in our nation. We need Americans to realize who we are, just like Ezra stood up with a scroll and he read the Books of Moses to the Israelites. We have, in a lot of ways, forgotten who we are as Christians and as Americans, because the foundation of Scripture is absent from our life. And so I thought, man, it would be awesome if we had national leaders from all spheres of influence, all demographics and denominations, if they would stand up humbly in front of the American people and tell us that this is where they get their life and their peace and their wisdom is in Scripture every day as individuals. And then what if we read the Bible all the way through as Americans for the 250th birthday?"

Massive Explosion at Texas Oil Refinery, Cause Unknown — Residents Told to Shelter in Place

A massive explosion ripped through the Valero refinery in Port Arthur on Monday, sending a towering column of black smoke over the city and triggering an emergency response across Jefferson County. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
The blast erupted inside the sprawling Gulf Coast facility shortly after midday, shaking nearby neighborhoods and prompting officials to warn residents to stay indoors as fire crews and industrial‑hazmat teams rushed to contain the incident. The explosion produced a thick plume visible for miles across Southeast Texas, adding new scrutiny to one of the nation’s largest refining corridors as authorities worked to determine the cause of the blast and assess potential hazards.
Port Arthur Fire Department spokesperson told 12News NBC that the cause of the explosion and fire is unknown at this time. Jefferson County Sheriff Zena Stephens said there were no injuries and no evacuations were ordered.
Local officials moved quickly to warn residents after the blast. “Residents on the west side of town are advised to shelter in place after the explosion,” Port Arthur police announced. The city expanded the alert minutes later, telling residents in Sabine Pass, Pleasure Island, and areas south of Highway 73 to remain indoors. Authorities said there were no immediate injuries and confirmed that “air quality and fire response are underway” as crews worked to contain the incident.

We thank You that it is reported they have gotten it under control and we pray that there was nothing nefarious involved in this explosion, in Jesus's name. We pray for Your revelation of the cause and may it never happen again.

2 Democrats Side With Republicans to Confirm Mullin for DHS Secretary
|
|
The Senate has voted to confirm Markwayne Mullin, the senator from Oklahoma, as the new secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
The upper chamber voted to confirm Mullin 54 to 45 on Monday evening. Two Democrats, Sens. John Fetterman, D-Pa., and Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., joined 52 Republicans by voting in favor of President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead DHS.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., was the lone Republican to vote “no.” Paul is the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee and had previously made his objections to Mullin’s nomination known at the committee’s confirmation hearing. Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., didn’t vote.
Trump chose Mullin to lead the department just minutes after the White House announced former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was leaving the post.
Mullin will now lead an agency that has been shut down since Feb. 14. Senate Democrats refused to fund the department over unmet demands to reform Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Democrat demands include requiring agents to obtain a judicial warrant before apprehending suspects, limiting immigration enforcement near polling locations, and prohibiting ICE agents from wearing masks.
During his confirmation hearing, Mullin signaled that he would be willing to make reforms to the agency if confirmed.
“Judicial warrants will be used to go into houses, into places of business, unless we’re pursuing someone who enters that place,” Mullin said. “I have not mixed words with that, and I haven’t changed my opinion about that.”

Father, we thank You that Sen. Mullin was confirmed to this position. We pray for him to be wise as a serpent in the completion of his responsibilities as the new Secretary of Homeland Security. We pray further for him to be strong and confident in leading according to righteousness and that he is unable to be compromised by those who would water down this nation's justice and security, in Jesus's name. May the rift between him and Sen. Paul be healed and forgiven, in Jesus's name.

Supreme Court Backs Police Immunity
in Protest Case

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that a Vermont police officer is entitled to qualified immunity after a protester at the state Capitol sued him for an injury in a case that stretches back more than a decade.
Qualified immunity protects law enforcement officers from litigation if they are acting in the line of duty, unless they violate a clearly established constitutional right.
Recently, some Democrats in Congress have called for Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to be stripped of the protection from litigation.
In an unsigned opinion, justices reversed a ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in the case of Zorn v. Linton, which held that existing precedent did not clearly establish that Vermont State Police Sgt. Jacob Zorn’s specific conduct violated the Constitution, Fox News reported.
“The Second Circuit held that Zorn was not entitled to qualified immunity,” read the 6-3 majority ruling. “We reverse.”
“Because the Second Circuit failed to identify a case where an officer taking similar actions in similar circumstances was held to have violated the Constitution, Zorn was entitled to qualified immunity,” the majority said. (The Daily Signal) Read more here.

Praise God for the Supreme Court setting such a precedent. This type of situation is happening across the country as radical people, determined to disrupt and create a hostile scene, become more common and aggressive. We pray for law enforcement officers to be shielded from the inevitable lawsuits that well-funded troublers file and we pray for creative strategies to stop them from causing such time-consuming and disruptive chaos, in Jesus's name. We call for a greater degree of respect in the marketplace of ideas and differences in this nation, for the glory of God.

FCC Bans Foreign-Made Routers Citing National Security Risks

The majority of American homes have foreign-made routers, but the order does not affect already-purchased devices.
|
|
|
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) banned all imports of foreign-made commercial routers March 23, a move that targets Chinese-linked brands found to pose national security risks.“Today, the FCC took additional action to safeguard Americans and the communications networks we rely on,” FCC Chairman Brendan Carr posted on X. “This action means that new models of foreign-produced routers will no longer be eligible for marketing or sale in the U.S.”
The decision followed a March 20 report by an executive branch interagency body with national security expertise. The report found commercial routers—the boxes used in homes to connect computers, phones and other smart devises to the internet—posed an unacceptable risk to the United States.
“Allowing routers produced abroad to dominate the U.S. market creates economic, national security, and cybersecurity risks,” the report stated.
A majority of the routers in American homes and businesses are made in foreign countries. The devices are critical to the nation’s economy and defense, and the U.S. “can no longer depend on foreign nations for router manufacturing,” according to the report.
The FCC action doesn’t affect any previously purchased consumer routers. Those can continue to be used, according to the agency. “Hopefully the intent is to implement this in a similar way to the FCC’s recent foreign drone restrictions: Prohibit devices from Chinese companies, while whitelisting devices from basically every allied/partner company,” McGuire posted on X. “If so, this will be extremely helpful, and will effectively ban the future sale of TP-Link routers and other Chinese routers that pose clear national security risks. The FCC is gradually becoming the lead agency on import controls.”
TP-Link, a Chinese company, is the world’s largest commercial wi-fi and home router manufacturer and controls a substantial share of the U.S. home routers market. Ninety-six percent of Americans use routers as a primary means to access the internet, the group found. The tools are also critical for managing the flow of data for infrastructure and emergency services.
“Given the criticality of routers to the successful functioning of our nation’s economy and defense, the United States can no longer depend on foreign nations for router manufacturing,” the report stated. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

This is a massive revelation Abba, and we pray for things to shift quickly, in Jesus's name. Clearly we are all under the impact of this exposure to snooping, which we have long known or suspected. The gravity of this matter gives us all reason for pause and we pray Father that You continue to be our strong tower, protector and shelter, no matter what comes our way, in Jesus's name. 1. Several injured in Iranian strike on Tel Aviv - JNS
Several people were lightly wounded in an Iranian missile barrage on Tuesday morning, Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service was cited as saying, as local media reported damage to buildings at impact sites in the Tel Aviv area.
MDA said its teams were dispatched to search several locations in the central region following the barrage and that further updates would be issued.
Police said Tel Aviv District officers, Border Police and bomb disposal experts were handling “several scenes of falling munitions parts,” and urged the public to follow Home Front Command instructions by staying in protected spaces as needed, avoiding the impact sites and reporting any suspicious objects to the emergency hotline. 2. Nine people wounded in Bnei Brak by Iranian cluster bomb munitions

An Iranian cluster bomb hit central Israel on Tuesday, with nine people wounded by multiple impacts in Bnei Brak, according to first responders.
The attack came as the Israel Defense Forces said it struck a key Iranian explosives production facility in the area of Isfahan, and Iran accused the US and Israel of bombing its Bushehr nuclear site.
The wounded in Bnei Brak included a 23-year-old man in moderate condition and eight other people, among them six children and a woman in her eighties, who were lightly injured by a blast or shrapnel, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said.
“We went into the shelter and there was a boom like I’ve never heard in my life,” a resident who lives near one of the fall sites told Ynet. “We looked out the window… the road was full of shards and smoke. It was really scary. My ears were ringing.” (Read more)

3. Israel approves site for permanent US embassy in Jerusalem

Prime Minister Netanyahu, Minister Sa'ar, and Minister Katz emphasized that this is a significant decision, which completes a major diplomatic move that began with President Donald Trump's courageous and historic decision during his first term to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and relocate the US Embassy there.
The Prime Minister and the ministers added that the establishment of the permanent embassy building serves as a tangible, central, and long-term expression of the US’ commitment to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the resilience of the special relationship between the two countries. Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi announced the decision, accusing Tehran of violating diplomatic norms and interfering in Lebanon’s security, amid the regime’s backing of the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.

A senior Israeli government minister is calling for the annexation of southern Lebanon, as the IDF expands its campaign against the Hezbollah terror organization.
On Monday, Finance Minister and Minister in the Defense Ministry Bezalel Smotrich, head of the Religious Zionist Party, addressed faction members in the Knesset, discussing the Israeli ground operation against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon.
“The current war in Lebanon must end with a radical change, beyond the vanquishing of the terror group Hezbollah,” said Smotrich, whose son was wounded in a Hezbollah attack on IDF forces in southern Lebanon earlier this month.
Smotrich proposed seizing control of the entire area south of the Litani River and placing the territory under Israeli sovereignty. (Read more)

1. Sen. Kennedy moves to Plan B to end shutdown, after Trump rejects ‘Plan A’ proposal - True News
Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) said a plan he and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) had proposed to end the DHS shutdown won’t work after all, so he has another proposal.
Now, Sen. Kennedy said he has another solution, which will take a little longer, but will also get the DHS funding pushed through without having to cut any deals with the Democrats.
“We can shut down all negotiations with the Democrats, and do the whole thing through reconciliation,” Kennedy said, noting that’s how they got the Big Beautiful Bill passed.
He explained it will also have to go through the House, and will take about 10 days to get it done, but it will work and satisfy Trump’s requirement. (Read more)

Father God, we ask You to assist these two senators in bringing forward a funding arrangement that will work to provide for all of DHS. This is a complex and somewhat dirty affair and we ask You to shine a light on what is right and just in order to defeat the darkness of the enemy's schemes, in Jesus's name. We believe that You brought our legal system into existence, so thus, it should be able to work even in this kind of a turbulent mess. From the Daily Mail: A chilling pattern has emerged after a string of US scientists died or went missing in recent months.
Retired General William Neil McCasland, 68, and NASA aerospace engineer Monica Jacinto Reza, 60, were both major figures in the Air Force Research Laboratory. The general oversaw Reza’s work on creating a futuristic metal for rocket engines.
Within the span of eight months, both have mysteriously vanished without a trace while allegedly hiking in the Southwest United States.

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. - Fort Washington Park remained closed Monday as investigators returned to the area where five devices resembling pipe bombs were discovered over the weekend. More explosive devices were found Monday, per officials.

Prince George's County Bomb Squad is at Fort Washington Park after more explosive devices were found. Officials say there is no current threat to the public. PGFD Fire Marshal’s Office along with the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, the ATF, the FBI, the and the US Park Police are investigating.
The backstory
U.S. Park Police say officers were called just after 2:15 p.m. Sunday when a hiker reported suspicious packages in the woods. Two devices were found initially, prompting authorities to shut down the park and call in the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS bomb squad. During a sweep, investigators located three additional devices. All were described as pipe‑bomb‑like and were safely disabled. (Read more)

5. Delta revokes major travel perk for Congress amid ongoing DHS shutdown - The Blaze
Delta Air Lines is apparently pressuring members of Congress to restore funding to Transportation Security Administration agents amid the ongoing Department of Homeland Security shutdown.
TSA agents have not received their full paychecks since Feb. 14. They received partial paychecks on Feb. 28, missed their next pay period on March 13, and are set to miss their second full paychecks on March 27.
"Due to the impact on resources from the longstanding government shutdown, Delta will temporarily suspend specialty services to members of Congress flying Delta," a statement from the company reads, according to the AJC. "Next to safety, Delta's No. 1 priority is taking care of our people and customers, which has become increasingly difficult in the current environment."
Members of Congress will be treated like all Delta travelers, according to their SkyMiles status, a spokesperson told the news outlet. (Read more)

6. 'Deranged and godless voices': Oldest 'Catholic' university in U.S. has queer profs teaching porn classes and more lunacy - WND
The oldest Catholic university in the nation employs queer professors who openly subvert Catholic prayers and teach courses on pornography and gender theory, leaving some students furious over the "ridicule" and "betrayal."
Amanda Phillips, a self-described "butch/transmasculine, Latinx" individual who goes by "they/he/she" pronouns, teaches several courses at Georgetown University revolving around gender, privilege, and even pornography. Meanwhile, adjunct lecturer Casey Catherine Moore posted a video of her "Bipolar Lady's Prayer," which changes the words from the Lord's prayer to read "give us this day our daily drugs."
Georgetown University is the nation's oldest Catholic university.
In a class scheduled for fall 2026, Phillips plans to teach students about "the changing aesthetics, production, and distribution of pornography," including how "the social and political conflicts that attend pornography … have been used to control marginalized populations including women, queer and trans folks, and people of color," according to the course's description on Georgetown's website. A fresh legal clash over childhood vaccines is exposing a deeper issue that goes well beyond medicine, it’s about trust. Recent rulings blocking changes to federal vaccine policy show how entrenched the system has become. Pharmaceutical companies play a major role in vaccine development and distribution, and their financial incentives are real. At the same time, public health agencies rely on these same companies to prevent disease at scale. That relationship creates tension. Parents are left asking a fair question, who ultimately benefits, the child, the system, or both? When courts step in to halt policy shifts, it reinforces the sense that large institutions, legal and medical, are tightly interwoven.
Every medical product carries risk, and vaccines are no exception. Federal law requires disclosure of known side effects, both common and rare, and those are documented in clinical data and post-market surveillance. Most side effects are mild, like fever or soreness, while serious adverse reactions are rare but acknowledged. Concern grows around long-term effects that are harder to measure over time. Critics argue that pharmaceutical companies and some in the medical community are quick to dismiss or downplay potential long-term issues when evidence is still developing, leaning on the absence of definitive proof rather than fully engaging the question. Iran denies engaging in talks with US after Trump claims Kushner, Witkoff held meeting

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei denied on Monday that any talks with the United States had taken place, contradicting US President Donald Trump's earlier statements that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner had met with Iranian officials on Sunday.
"We have had very, very strong talks. We'll see where they lead. We have points, major points of agreement, I would say, almost all points of agreement... we've had very strong talks, Mr. Witkoff and Mr. Kushner had them," Trump said.
In a statement to Iranian media, Baghaei said that although some friendly nations had sent messages indicating that the United States had requested talks, Iran did not respond.
Baghaei additionally noted that the regime's conditions for an end to the war, as well as Iran's stance on the Strait of Hormuz, remain unchanged.
An unidentified Iranian senior official told Reuters on Monday that the US had specifically requested a meeting with Iranian Parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, but Iran's Supreme National Security Council has yet to review the matter.
A source told The Jerusalem Post on Monday that Ghalibaf is leading the talks with the US, while the Parliament Speaker stated in a post on X/Twitter that no talks had taken place and further stated that "fake news" is being used to manipulate financial and oil markets.

DOW official Joseph Humire says 18 nations have joined the Americas Counter-Cartel Coalition under a Trump-backed hemispheric security push.

The United States is advancing a sweeping hemispheric security strategy aimed at dismantling transnational criminal organizations and countering the growing footprint of geopolitical rivals across Latin America, according to Joseph M. Humire, acting assistant secretary of War for Homeland Defense and Americas Security Affairs.
At the center of this effort is the "Shield of the Americas," a multi-layered initiative designed to integrate military, intelligence, and law enforcement capabilities across partner nations in the Western Hemisphere.
"Shield of the Americas is a presidential framing to form an alliance in the Western Hemisphere. The Americas Counter Cartel Coalition fits within it, but it's not exclusive to it. We now have 18 members in the coalition. And in the Shield, there are 13 countries," Humire said.
"The proclamation that President Trump signed on March 7, was centered around the coalition, and the coalition is centered around having partner nations in Latin America start looking at partner-led, deterrence-focused operations against cartel infrastructure and targets inside their sovereign territory, both on land and in the maritime territory."
Humire said, "In the past, we would provide training, capacity building and a bunch of different things to our partners so that they could go after the cartels. What is different in this administration is we are now accompanying our partners to go after the shared threats. In some cases, we've already gotten permission to do that, like in Ecuador, where we have permission from President Daniel Noboa to not just advise and assist his military as they engage in counter-narcotic terrorist operations, but also accompany his military forces when they engage in those operations." As the Shield of the Americas initiative forms, we pray that You would place a shield of protection over President Trump and his administration as they form an alliance in the Western Hemisphere.
Lord, as these 13 Shield countries and the 18 member coalition come together to advance a sweeping hemispheric security strategy aimed at dismantling transnational criminal organizations and countering the geopolitical rivals across Latin America, we ask for divine wisdom for President Trump and the acting assistant secretary of war for Homeland Defense and Americas Security affairs, Joseph Humire. Lord, let everything be done in Your will and Your timing! We plead the blood of Jesus over this proclamation that our President has signed and we pray that every cartel will be brought down and justice be done in all of the countries. Lord, as this new historic effort to put the Western Hemisphere a top regional priority for US National security takes place, we pray that Your keen eyes watch over this initiative and that You would alert President Trump and his administration to any hidden dangers concerning this effort. Justices Skeptical of Counting Late-Arriving Ballots

The Supreme Court’s conservative justices on Monday seemed particularly skeptical of arguments by the state of Mississippi that mail-in ballots arriving after Election Day should still be counted. Mississippi counts ballots that arrive up to five days after Election Day. At least 17 states and the District of Columbia count ballots that arrive late, with at least two allowing them to arrive up to two weeks after Election Day.
The case before the high court is Watson v. Republican National Committee. Mississippi’s Secretary of State Michael Watson is a Republican who oversees state elections.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett pressed Mississippi Solicitor General Scott Stewart about the security of mail-in ballots and what prevents someone from designating their neighbor to deliver a ballot.
“That submission to mail to a common carrier is different in kind than, say, submitting it to a relative or a neighbor,” Stewart answered.
“What’s the difference?” Barrett asked, “They’re not government officials.”
Stewart followed, “They are impartial third parties that have a duty to deliver what they’re owed without altering it.”
But Barrett noted the state law and the state’s brief did not clearly state that line of argument. “Your definition didn’t say final, as submitted to an impartial third party, or final, as submitted to a common carrier,” Barrett asked.
Justice Neil Gorsuch used the corporation Federal Express as an example of a private delivery service, since Mississippi law didn’t require the U.S. Postal Service to deliver ballots. “FedEx isn’t an election official,” Gorsuch said.
Stewart said, “The recipient is certainly the person you are sending the mail to.”
Gorsuch replied, “You submit it to FedEx and they deliver it to an election official. You say it has to be submitted to an election official in your brief. Then you say a common carrier is OK. Those two things don’t add up.”

We pray that You will grant wisdom and discernment to all the Supreme Court Justices in the case of Watson v Republican National Committee. Father, it seems like it is common sense to not allow mail in ballots to be counted when they arrive up to five days after Election day. There are things in this argument that do not add up as Justice Barrett and Justice Gorsuch bring this to the Justices' attention. Lord, there should be no votes counted after Election Day! That is too much time for tampering to take place! Everyone knows when they are to have their votes in and common carriers such as Federal Express are not election officials. Wake up the American people to all truths concerning our elections and not allow votes to come in later than midnight on Election Day. Let everything that is broken in our elections be brought to light and fixed! We pray also, Lord, that the Save America Act will be passed so that no one but American citizens should have a vote in our elections! In Jesus' Mighty name we pray, Amen and Amen.

Russia launched nearly 400 drones and dozens of missiles across Ukraine overnight Monday, triggering NATO to scramble fighter jets in neighboring countries, according to reports.
The massive aerial assault killed at least four people and injured more than two dozen, with strikes hitting multiple regions including Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv, The Associated Press reported, citing Ukrainian officials.
Poland and Romania both scrambled fighter jets as Russian strikes approached NATO airspace, East2West reported, with Warsaw placing air defenses on the "highest state of readiness," Poland’s operational command said.
"Due to the activity of long-range Russian air forces conducting strikes on Ukrainian territory, Polish and allied air forces have begun operating in our airspace," Poland’s operational command said, according to East2West.
Hours earlier, two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled in fellow NATO state Romania as Russian drones attacked Ukraine near the River Danube, the outlet reported. The Danube forms part of the border between Ukraine and Romania.
Ukrainian military leaders said Russian forces have intensified attacks along the roughly 750-mile front line, with hundreds of assaults reported in recent days.

Lord, You are the only one who can bring down prideful men waging war. This attack came after Ukraine hit Russia's largest Baltic port, Primorsk. We beseech You, Holy God, to end these wicked wars! Your word says that in the end times there will be wars and rumors of wars but the time is not yet. Enlightened us Lord as to Your timing that is being played out before our eyes. We pray for comfort over all who are having to live through the wars that are raging. Keep us strong and courageous as we walk through these times of chaos! You, indeed ,are our hiding place and we thank You!

A bright fireball streaking across the Texas sky may have ended with a rare and dramatic impact right through the roof of a home.
NASA confirmed a meteoroid about 3 feet wide and weighing roughly a ton entered Earth’s atmosphere over southeastern Texas on Saturday. Traveling at 35,000 miles per hour, it became visible high above the region before breaking apart about 29 miles above the ground.
That breakup triggered a powerful pressure wave, producing loud booms heard across the Houston area, according to NASA. Dozens of reports flooded into the American Meteor Society website as residents described a bright flash followed by a rumble that shook homes.
In one of the most striking developments, a suspected meteorite fragment punched through the roof of a home north of Houston, leaving a visible hole and landing inside. Officials believe the rock is linked to the same fireball event.
