Supreme Court Rules Trump to Stay on Ballot in Unanimous Ruling
The high court ruled that states cannot enforce Section 3 to remove a presidential candidate, one day ahead of Super Tuesday.

The Supreme Court ruled on March 4 that former President Donald Trump can’t be removed from the ballot by individual states, overturning the Colorado Supreme Court decision that found him ineligible as a candidate and disqualified from the state ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

“Responsibility for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates rests with Congress and not the States. The judgment of the Colorado Supreme Court therefore cannot stand,” the per curiam order reads. “All nine Members of the Court agree with that result.”

The order was issued just one day before more than a dozen states were to hold their primary elections. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord, we thank you for this decision! We pray that the courts would continue to uphold the law without partiality and would not be swayed by persuasive arguments or public opinion but look to the laws of our country in dispensing justice. Lord God we pray You would have Your hand upon them, particularly those who profess Your name. In Jesus name amen.

- “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

Congressional Leaders Unveil Bill to Avert Government Shutdown

U.S. congressional leaders on March 3 unveiled a bill that would fund parts of the government for parts of the fiscal year as lawmakers faced a threat of a partial government shutdown later this week.

Both House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) appeared to claim victory for their respective parties, releasing statements to say they were able to come to an agreement to fund the government.

“Republicans have worked hard to successfully move the policy and spending priorities of the federal government away from the previous Pelosi–Schumer [fiscal year 2023] appropriations,” Mr. Johnson wrote. “And American taxpayers will benefit from it.”

The speaker said GOP lawmakers were able to push back on “left-wing proposals” and impose sharp cuts to the Biden administration’s agenda, including preventing the “Department of Justice from targeting parents exercising their right to free speech before school boards” and “deep cuts” to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The bill includes a 10 percent cut in funding to the EPA, 7 percent to the ATF, and 6 percent to the FBI. Mr. Schumer released a statement on the afternoon of March 1 saying Congress came to a “bipartisan agreement” on six government spending bills that will “keep the government open,” potentially averting a shutdown on March 8. “We are proud to be keeping the government open without cuts or poison [pills].” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- We plead the blood of Jesus over the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate right now. We loose the spirit of unity over all representatives that they would be united under one cause which is the betterment of America and its citizens which includes protecting us and doing what is right in your eyes Lord God. We pray that all representatives would lay aside any evil agenda, and seek you and your face for this country in Jesus name amen.

- “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)

What to Know About Super Tuesday 2024
The biggest day of the presidential primary calendar may not be so big this year.

As President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump race toward their parties’ respective nominations, it may feel to some like the presidential primaries are already over. But in truth, most states have yet to weigh in.

That will change (today), on Super Tuesday, when voters across 15 states and one U.S. territory are set to sound off on their preferred candidate for president.

Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know.

What’s Super Tuesday?

Super Tuesday is the unofficial name for the date of the presidential election cycle on which the greatest number of states hold their primary elections. As such, roughly one-third of the total delegates to the presidential nominating conventions can be won on Super Tuesday.
The date can fall in either February or March, depending on when the early voting states hold their primary contests. This year, Super Tuesday falls on March 5.

Who Votes on Super Tuesday?

The 15 states voting this year are Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia. Residents of the territory of American Samoa will also cast their ballots.
New this year is that Iowa will be announcing results on Super Tuesday. . .

Will Super Tuesday Make a Difference This Year?

Historically, Super Tuesday has been viewed as one of the most consequential dates on the presidential primary calendar, helping to solidify a candidate’s status as their party’s front-runner. But this year, the point may be moot. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.
- Lord God, we pray for all your people all over this country -- that Your Spirit would empower every believer to receive Your wisdom about who to vote for during these primaries. Help us stop and discern your heart, God, about these issues? What is Heaven's agenda? Help us to pray unceasingly and to think biblically and intelligently about these issues. Lord God, we pray for Your discernment about the candidates we choose. In Jesus' name, amen.

- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. IAEA chief: We have lost track of Iran nuke progress - Jerusalem Post

IAEA Chief Rafael Grossi on Monday told the IAEA Board of Governors, concerning Iran’s nuclear advancement, that “the agency has lost continuity of knowledge about the production and inventory of centrifuges, rotors and bellows, heavy water and uranium ore concentrate.”

“It is three years since Iran stopped provisionally applying its additional protocol and therefore it is also three years since the agency was able to conduct complementary access in Iran,” Grossi said, describing large gaps in nuclear inspections.

Next, he referred to a recent Iranian nuclear official who said that all aspects of the nuclear weapons cycle are complete and that the only obstacle to Tehran producing a nuclear weapon is the political decision to do so. (Read more)

2. At least one dead in Hezbollah anti-tank rocket attack - World Israel News

One man was killed and seven wounded, two seriously, in a Hezbollah anti-tank rocket attackon northern Israel Monday.

The dead man is a Thai citizen in his thirties who was found by Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency personnel in the orchard he was working in in the upper Galilee moshav of Margaliot.

All the wounded are also Thai agricultural workers. Most of them suffered from shrapnel wounds, the MDA said.

“Using an MDA bullet-proof intensive care vehicle, we arrived near the place where the anti-tank missile fire occurred and retrieved the wounded from there,” said senior medic Yigal Ben Udiz and paramedic Walid Kezel, who took care of five men together with IDF medics. (Read more)

3. IDF nabs 80 terror suspects trying to escape with civilians in Khan Yunis - JNS

Israeli forces captured 80 terror suspects attempting to hide among the civilian population evacuated from western Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces reported on Monday morning, as the Israel-Hamas war entered its 150th day.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad members were among those arrested as the military cleared the Qatari-funded Hamad City residential compound of residents in preparation for an operation against terror forces entrenched there. After encircling the complex on Sunday morning, Israeli forces conducted targeted raids, striking terror targets and killing terrorists operating from within civilian areas.

Israeli forces also continued to strike in the area of Al-Qarara, located north of Khan Yunis. The town had been hit from the air multiple times since the start of the war on Oct. 7, with ground forces entering the area over the weekend. (Read more)

4. IDF completes clearance op in southern Gaza City neighborhood - JNS

The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday night announced it completed a two-week-long clearance operation in the southern Gaza City district of Zeitoun, killing more than 100 terrorist operatives and destroying infrastructure used by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

IDF ground troops first entered Zeitoun, once considered a major Hamas stronghold, in mid-November. On Nov. 20, the IDF announced that of 188th Brigade soldiers took control of key structures belonging to the terror group’s Zeitoun Battalion.

However, earlier this month, four Gaza City residents told the Associated Press that Hamas is attempting to reestablish its governing capabilities in areas of the Gaza Strip from which Israeli forces have withdrawn, deploying police officers and paying partial salaries to civil servants. 5. 'Potential pressure on Israel’: is France on the path to recognizing a Palestinian state? - Jerusalem Post

In an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde published on Saturday, France’s foreign minister Stéphane Séjourné said he believes that the recognition of a Palestinian state is within reach and may act as a mechanism by France to pressure Israel.

According to Séjourné, France is working with the US on creating a coalition with moderate Arab states, and within just a few weeks or months, the coalition will offer a political solution to the crisis, not merely a security one.

There is no doubt that the Israeli government’s unwillingness to compromise is related to the upcoming presidential elections in the United States, Séjourné charged in the interview. (Read more)

1. Boeing, Alaska Airlines hit with $1B lawsuit filed by 3 Flight 1282 passengers | Fox Business

Three passengers who were on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 when a door plug blew out mid-flight on the Boeing 737 MAX 9 jet in January have filed a $1 billion lawsuit against the airline and Boeing.

Kyle Rinker and his girlfriend Amanda Strickland were seated just two rows diagonally behind the teenager who had his shirt sucked off when the door plug flew off, their attorney Jonathan Johnson, an aviation law specialist, said in a press release this week.

Kevin Kwok, who was also sitting near the pair, is also part of the lawsuit filed late last month in Multnomah County, Oregon.

"This is mostly about the systemic problems at Boeing, which is jeopardizing the lives of the entire traveling public who travel on Boeing aircraft," Johnson told KGW-TV. "They should not be trusting luck to avoid a planeload of people being killed." (Read more)

- We pray that Boeing and Alaska airlines can correct their problems on their aircraft to prevent further dangerous incidents. We pray over these lawsuits and justice be served.

- "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:19)

2. Judge blocks Texas AG from requiring info on transgender kids receiving gender transition treatment - Fox News

Texas judge temporarily blocked state Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, from requiring an LGBTQ+ advocacy group to provide information about transgender children receiving gender transition treatment.

The ruling on Friday came a day after PFLAG National challenged Paxton's office in court to prevent it from collecting the information.

Travis County District Court Judge Maria Cantú Hexsel said providing the information would harm PFLAG and its members in several ways, including violating their rights of free speech, association and protection from unreasonable searches.

The judge also said it would be a "gross invasion" of privacy to force the group to hand over the information to Paxton. (Read more)

- We pray Your will be done in this action by the Judge of blocking the Texas AG. We pray for any abuses to be revealed by either side, whether it be from the Texas AG or the group protecting these treatments.

- "For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer." (Romans 13:4)

3. Iran violently clamps down on Christians amid reports of torture, fines and floggings - Yahoo News

Iran claims to allow the country’s Christian minority to practice its faith in peace. The reality for many Iranian Christians, however, is plagued by whippings, arrests, imprisonment, surveillance and harassment, according to a February report from the religious freedom NGO Article 18.

One shocking finding of the Article 18 40-page study, titled "Faceless Victims: Rights Violations Against Christians in Iran," states, "By the end of 2023, at least 17 of the Christians arrested during the summer had received prison sentences of between three months and five years, or non-custodial punishments such as fines, flogging, and in one case the community-service of digging graves."

The report noted, "Despite a comparable number of Christians being arrested in 2023 as in previous years – 166 arrests were documented in 2023, compared to 134 in 2022 – fewer names and faces could be publicized." (Read more)

- We pray for the Christians in Iran. Protect them, Lord God, and hide them under the shelter of Your wings. Amen.

- "For in the day of trouble, he will keep me safe in the shelter of his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tent; he will set me high upon a rock." (Psalm 27:5)

4. Trump leads Biden among Hispanics, registered voters overall: poll - Fox News

Former President Donald Trump holds a six-point lead over President Biden among Hispanic voters, according to a new survey released Saturday.

The New York Times/Siena College poll, which was conducted from February 25 to 28 and included responses from 980 registered voters nationwide, asked respondents whom they would support in the 2024 presidential election if it were held today.

Between candidates Biden and Trump, 46% of Hispanics who responded to the poll said they would vote for Trump, while 40% said they would support Biden. That's a big difference from Biden's 2020 general election support from Hispanics. Biden won 59% of the Hispanic vote to Trump's 38% that year, according to Pew Research.

Among all respondents who took part in the survey New York Times/Siena poll, Trump also leads Biden, with 48% saying they would vote for him and 43% insisting they would vote for Biden. (Read more)

- Lord, thank You for this support from the Hispanic population. Protect us from this current administration and their policies. Give us a President who can reverse the damage that has been done.

- "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-4)

5. Republican Senate leader fight expected to put party rift between factions on full display - Fox News

The race for the next Republican Senate leader has the potential to further expose deepening divisions within the party as the conference looks to select a new head in November after the longest-serving party leader in Senate history, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell R-Ky., steps down from his post.

While the Republicans boast 49 seats in the Senate, they don't all champion the same brand of conservatism. This has become more evident in the Trump era as the party's positions and base shift.

According to Republican strategist Ron Bonjean, former top spokesman to Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott and former chief of staff of the Senate Republican Conference, more attention will likely be called to "the old guard versus the new populism that is growing quickly within the Senate GOP" during the leader fight.

The battle is further poised "to draw Trump into the mix more often on high-profile national issues," he said. (Read more)

- We pray for a new leader of the Republican party as Mitch McConnell steps down. We pray for a leader who can bring unity and strength to the party.

- "Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more." (Luke 12:48)
6. Homelessness Rises Among US Veterans for 1st Time in 12 Years as Immigration Crisis Escalates - The Epoch Times

As national, state, and local governments continue to spend billions of dollars to house, feed, clothe, and provide medical care for millions of illegal immigrants, homelessness among U.S. veterans has risen dramatically for the first time in 12 years.

A recent report from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) details a 7.4 percent increase in veteran homelessness between 2022 and 2023 and estimates that more than 35,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. Over the course of a year, according to the report, almost twice as many veterans may experience homelessness. In total, HUD estimates that nearly 13 percent of the homeless adult population are veterans.

Kate Monroe, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and CEO of VetComm.us, calls this situation “the ultimate betrayal” by the U.S. government. She is also a California Republican congressional candidate. (Read more)

- Lord, forgive us for not taking care of our own citizens. May this election be pivotal in solving this crisis. Put in office those who will put America first and not make decisions for political gain!

- "Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause." (Isaiah 1:17)

7. US says Israel has agreed to the framework for a Gaza cease-fire. Hamas must now decide - AP

RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel has essentially endorsed a framework of a proposed Gaza cease-fire and hostage release deal, and it is now up to Hamas to agree to it, a senior U.S. administration official said Saturday, a day before talks to reach an agreement were to resume in Egypt.

International mediators have been working for weeks to broker a deal to pause the fighting before the Muslim holy month of Ramadan begins around March 10. A deal would likely allow aid to reach hundreds of thousands of desperate Palestinians in northern Gaza who aid officials worry are under threat of famine.

The Israelis “have more or less accepted” the proposal, which includes the six-week cease-fire as well as the release by Hamas of hostages considered vulnerable, which includes the sick, the wounded, the elderly and women, said the official.

“Right now, the ball is in the court of Hamas and we are continuing to push this as hard as we possibly can,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity under ground rules set by the White House to brief reporters. (Read more)

- We pray Hamas will accept this cease-fire framework.

- "If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all." (Romans 12:18)

Your Designer Clothing

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, March 4, 2024

Outward appearance is important to the world. People clamor for designer-brand clothing. I remember touring a jeans factory back in the 1980s and was surprised at how designer jeans were made. This factory made several popular “exclusive” brands that people were paying premium prices to wear. Funny how they were made by the same factory and the designs on the pockets and logos were swapped out during the runs of fabric. Remember the old saying, “we’re cut from the same cloth”? Some brands are better quality (and, most certainly price). As Christians, have you ever considered your designer clothing and how much it cost? The Bible lends some special insight into both the clothing and the cost.

Let’s start with something seemingly unrelated—the Kiyyer Ha-Nechashat—the bronze or copper basin used for the cleansing and purification of the priests to wash their hands and feet before ascending the altar to make sacrifices. Their bodies already were considered clean because their priestly garments—designed by God—were required to be worn only by a priest who was bathed in the Mikveh. Recall in John 13 when Christ Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. In verse 9, Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.” Jesus replied that Peter’s body was already clean. This is a reference to the Tabernacle, where the priests were required to only wash their hands and feet, because their bodies were covered by the righteousness conferred by their robes. Peter was “robed” in Christ’s righteousness. Read More

Iceland Volcano Update: New Eruption Warning After 'Imminent' Alarm

Another volcanic eruption could occur in Iceland in the coming days, according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office.

"It is to be expected that another magma flow can occur in the next few days and there is an increased probability of a volcanic eruption," the IMO said in an update on Sunday.

The Context:

The next eruption would be the fourth on the Reykjanes Peninsula in as many months. Iceland lies on a volcanic hot spot in the North Atlantic and averages an eruption every five years, but the frequency has increased to about one every 12 months since 2021.

What We Know:

The Icelandic Meteorological Office has warned in recent days of a possible eruption after monitoring a buildup of magma—semi-molten rock—below the ground and seismic activity.

A slight earthquake occurred at 4 p.m. local time on Saturday, RUV reported. The IMO told the broadcaster that it was one of the first signs that an eruption was imminent.

In an update on Saturday evening, the office said that depth of the seismic activity did not indicate that magma was making its way to the surface as it is now. "It is therefore less likely that the magma intrusion will lead to an eruption, but it is by no means excluded," the update said.

On Sunday, the IMO said another magma flow could lead to an eruption in the next few days.

"The volume of magma under Svartsengi continues to increase, which could end up with a new magma flow and even an eruption," the update said. "An eruption could start at very short notice, even less than 30 minutes." Read More

- Father, we pray for Iceland. Bring calm to the earthquakes and prevent this volcanic eruption.

- "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places." (Matthew 24:7)

Words and Music: Robert Lowry

Scripture:  I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. Psalm 146:2

Lyrics:
My life flows on in endless song;
Above earth’s lamentation
I hear the sweet though far off hymn
That hails a new creation:
Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear the music ringing;
It finds an echo in my soul—
How can I keep from singing?

What though my joys and comforts die?
The Lord my Savior liveth;
What though the darkness gather round!
Songs in the night He giveth:
No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that refuge clinging;
Since Christ is Lord of Heav’n and earth,
How can I keep from singing?

I lift mine eyes; the cloud grows thin;
I see the blue above it;
And day by day this pathway smoothes
Since first I learned to love it:
The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart,
A fountain ever springing:
All things are mine since I am His—
How can I keep from singing?
