Pro-Life Leader Says New Pope Leo XIV "Holds Strong Pro-Life Convictions"
|
|
Eric Scheidler, director of the Pro-Life Action League, expressed jubilation Thursday over the election of Pope Leo XIV, citing the new pontiff’s deep ties to Chicago and steadfast pro-life convictions. “As a Catholic, a pro-life advocate, and a Chicagoan, I joyfully celebrate the election of Pope Leo XIV,” Scheidler said in a statement to LifeNews. He noted that Cardinal Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV, spent much of his life and ministry in Chicago, home to the Pro-Life Action League’s headquarters. “I feel a special closeness to him in that regard.”
Scheidler praised the new pope’s commitment to defending life, pointing to a recent homily where Pope Leo XIV declared, "God’s mercy calls us to protect every life, especially those society overlooks—the child yet to be born and the elderly nearing their journey’s end—because each bears Christ’s face." As a pro-life activist, I am also deeply heartened to know that our new pope holds strong pro-life convictions as evidenced by his words in a recent homily, he said. The Pro-Life Action League, based in Chicago, advocates for the protection of unborn children and promotes a culture of life through activism and education. Read more

- Father, we pray for Your Hand to guide the life of Pope Leo XIV, that he may honor You through his words and deeds according to Holy Scripture. You foreknew that he would be chosen, an American, originally from the City of Chicago. We celebrate his strong Pro-Life stance and pray that he will be a powerful influence towards Your Kingdom purposes throughout the world, including in his native State of Illinois.
In the Name of Jesus, we prophetically declare a miraculous transformation upon Illinois and Your righteous re-alignment through the state's removal of the current 'safe-haven' status for abortions. We proclaim that America will be a nation saved through honoring the unborn and defending precious LIFE. By the Blood and Powerful Name of Jesus Christ-Amen.
- "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him." (Colossians 1:16)

Trump Taps Fox News' Judge Jeanine Pirro as Interim US Attorney in DC
|
|
President Donald Trump has tapped "The Five" co-host Judge Jeanine Pirro to be the interim U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C.
"I am pleased to announce that Judge Jeanine Pirro will be appointed interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Thursday. "Jeanine is incredibly well qualified for this position, and is considered one of the Top District Attorneys in the History of the State of New York. She is in a class by herself. Congratulations Jeanine!"
Pirro has left Fox News Channel and a rotation of Fox News personalities will fill her seat on "The Five" until a new co-host is named.
"Jeanine Pirro has been a wonderful addition to The Five over the last three years and a longtime beloved host across FOX News Media who contributed greatly to our success throughout her 14-year tenure. We wish her all the best in her new role in Washington," a spokesperson for FOX News Media said in a statement.
Pirro served as the assistant district attorney and district attorney in New York's Westchester County and became the first woman to serve as a judge in Westchester County Court. (Fox News) Read more

US President Donald Trump Announced in a Truth Social Post That India and Pakistan Have Agreed to a Ceasefire
|
|
"After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" the president declared in his Saturday morning post.
Both foreign nations are among the handful of global powers that possess nuclear weapons, making tension between the two countries particularly dangerous on the world stage.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted in a statement that he and U.S. Vice President JD Vance have been involved in engaging with officials from the foreign countries.
"Over the past 48 hours, Vice President Vance and I have engaged with senior Indian and Pakistani officials, including Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik," Rubio said in the statement. - Lord, thank You for a President who is trying so hard to bring peace in the world. We take Your authority in this dangerous situation, bind the parties that are filled with hate, and pray that this ceasefire will hold. The most important thing would be for Your Holy Spirit to move across the earth, bringing repentance and heart change to all who will receive You.

House Republicans Release Tax Plan for Trump's
"Big, Beautiful Bill"
|
|
House Republicans released a portion of President Donald Trump’s tax agenda late on Friday evening, bringing them one step closer to completing the commander-in-chief’s "big, beautiful bill."
The legislation includes an increased child tax credit (CTC), a higher threshold for estate tax liability – what Republicans have referred to as the "death tax" – and several other measures.
It also lays the groundwork for making Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) permanent. Republican leaders had warned that failing to do so would lead to a tax increase of over 20% for millions of Americans, if TCJA were allowed to expire at the end of this year.
There is no information in the bill so far about state and local tax (SALT) deduction caps, which have been a significant point of contention between blue state Republicans critical to keeping the House majority, and GOP lawmakers from deeper red, lower-tax states.
Another notable exclusion is a new millionaires’ tax bracket. Trump had floated the idea of a small tax increase on the ultra-wealthy, and a source familiar with his thinking told Fox News Digital earlier this week that Trump was considering allowing a pre-TCJA 2.6% tax hike on people making $2.5 million per year or more.
Those measures and others are not necessarily excluded from the final bill, however.
The legislation is also expected to include new Trump tax pledges like eliminating taxes on tips, overtime wages and Social Security checks for retirees. (Fox News) Read more

- Father, as we wait for a full accounting of this tax bill, we pray for Your mercy and love to bring relief for all who have struggled financially. You promised in Your Word that Your yoke is easy and burden light, so we call forth that truth into all of our lives spiritually, physically, and financially.
- “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30)

Exclusive – Ed Martin Assumes Powerful DOJ Role: 'Greatest Job I Could Ever Envision' to Target Weaponization
|
|
Ed Martin has a message for the forces who blocked his nomination for U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia: Be careful what you wish for.
A group of establishment senators, led by Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), blocked President Donald Trump’s nomination of Ed Martin for U.S. Attorney (USA) for the District of Columbia – an incredibly powerful post with a crucial role in Trump’s America First Agenda.
But don’t cry for Martin. Trump has appointed him to a powerful new role within the Department of Justice, which he detailed on Breitbart News Saturday with host Matt Boyle.
“It’s classic Donald Trump, right? That somebody tries to block him and block his pick, and he decides to double down,” Martin told Boyle. “This is probably the greatest job I could ever envision.”
Trump announced Martin’s new role in a Truth Social post Thursday:
Ed Martin has done an AMAZING job as interim U.S. Attorney, and will be moving to the Department of Justice as the new Director of the Weaponization Working Group, Associate Deputy Attorney General, and Pardon Attorney. In these highly important roles, Ed will make sure we finally investigate the Weaponization of our Government under the Biden Regime, and provide much needed Justice for its victims. Congratulations Ed!
Martin is not wasting time.
“Attorney General Bondi gave us marching orders when she got in, and we have a working group that’s already been meeting,” Martin told Boyle, saying the group “is already overwhelmed with the amount of work to do. There’s no limit to what the Biden administration was doing.”
Investigating the weaponization of government and serving as pardon attorney to aid those harmed by the weaponization fit together perfectly, Martin believes.
“We saw the government used against the citizens. One of the things we have to do is get the citizens back to where they should be, and that’s going to include some people that need pardons, right?” he told Boyle, singling out those targeted on January 6, pro-life advocates, and law enforcement officers as some of those targeted by weaponization.
Trump installed Martin as interim USA for DC to jump-start the work of the crucial office. USA offices usually take time to build momentum in new administrations, Martin explained.
“From the beginning, classic President Trump, he has a vision, right?” Martin explained. “In Washington, DC, you couldn’t do what we usually do. What you usually do is you nominate a US attorney, and it takes three or four or five or six months, and the first three or four or five or six months, you’ve got an acting – someone who’s not invested … President Trump put me in on day one and said, ‘Go and fight today and fight like hell, so that we can make this thing work,’ and then, if I get confirmed, fine, if you don’t get confirmed, well, we’ll keep working on other stuff.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Father God, together we shout a huge "HALLELUJAH!" at this news. Praise You, O Lord! Praise You!
We thank You that, even though Senators Thom Tillis and Lindsey Graham tried to block Ed Martin's nomination, You inspired President Trump to create an "end run" around this blockade, allowing Ed Martin to be brought to another finish line -- one that is much better and more effective for our Kingdom purposes. Again, we thank You, O Lord, for prompting President Trump to establish this brilliant move to VICTORY! In Your Name, Holy One, we pray, amen and amen!
- " And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

2. IDF’s Nahal Brigade withdrawn from West Bank ahead of planned major Gaza offensive - Times of Israel
The IDF’s Nahal Brigade has been withdrawn from the West Bank after three months of operations, ahead of an upcoming major offensive in the Gaza Strip, the military says.
“Now, the Nahal Brigade is preparing as part of the 162nd Division for additional missions in the Gaza Strip ahead of the expansion of the fighting in the Strip,” the army says.

3. Hamas claims it will free Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander - JNS
The Hamas terrorist organization said in an official statement on Sunday night that it had decided to release Israeli-American Edan Alexander as part of efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the war in the Gaza Strip.
The U.S.-designated terror group said the release of Alexander, 21, was “part of the steps being taken to achieve a truce, open the [border] crossings, and allow aid and relief to reach our people in Gaza.”
The agreement to free Alexander, who is believed to be the last living American citizen held in Gaza, came following talks with the Trump administration’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
Alexander’s family confirmed the development to Israel’s Channel 12, saying earlier on Sunday, “We are waiting for Hamas’s announcement, and Witkoff updated us that this is expected to happen.” (Read more)

4. Israel Endorses US Humanitarian Aid Plan for Gaza - Jewish Press
The Israeli government “fully endorses” the new humanitarian aid plan advanced by the United States for civilians in Gaza, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar told reporters on Sunday during a joint news conference with visiting German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.
“Only Hamas is responsible for the war and for the continuation of this war,” Sa’ar said. “The Hamas terror state must not be allowed to exist. Otherwise, Hamas will continue to be a nightmare – for Israel’s security and the stability of the region as a whole. Hamas must be defeated.”
During the war, Israel allowed and facilitated the delivery of more than a million tons of humanitarian aid into Gaza. According to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), 1,774,459 tons of humanitarian aid in 91,674 trucks and on 10,450 pallets have been brought into Gaza between the start of the war on October 7, 2023 and February 28, 2025. 1. Dem Congress members storm New Jersey ICE prison to conduct 'oversight visit': 'People deserve dignity' - Fox
Three members of Congress stormed through the gates of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in New Jersey on Friday, demanding they be allowed to conduct an "oversight visit."
Reps. Rob Menendez Jr., Bonnie Watson Coleman and LaMonica McIver, all New Jersey Democrats, entered ICE's Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark and were held up inside the first checkpoint, Department of Homeland Security spokesperson DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News.
"These members of Congress storming into a detention facility goes beyond bizarre political stunt and puts the safety of our law enforcement agents and the detainees at risk," a DHS statement to Fox News said. "Members of Congress are not above the law and cannot illegally break into detention facilities. Had these members requested a tour, we would have facilitated a tour of the facility. This is an evolving situation."
The prison currently holds alleged killers, MS-13 gang members, child rapists, among other criminal offenders.
The lawmakers were outside the facility with a group of protesters when the gates opened to allow an ICE bus in. The lawmakers then rushed through the gates and past security, DHS said. Read more

2. White House: Trade Deal with U.K. Will Open Up $5 Billion in New Market Access for U.S. – Breitbart
The Trump administration has released details on the trade deal the United States has reached with the United Kingdom — the first agreement since Trump implemented his “Liberation Day” tariffs last month.
The agreement between the allies covers products across a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, automobiles, steel, and more.
According to the administration, the agreement opens up $5 billion in new market access for American exporters in the U.K. The ten percent baseline Liberation Day tariff remains in effect, which the White House estimates will generate $6 billion in external revenue.
U.S. products that are gaining “unprecedented access to the U.K. Market” include “ethanol, beef, cereal, fruits, vegetables, animal feed, tobacco, soft drinks, shellfish, textiles, chemicals, machinery, and more,” a chart Trump shared on social media notes. Read more

3. Pentagon Begins Immediate Removal of Trans-Identifying Personnel - Breitbart
The Pentagon is taking upwards of 1,000 military personnel who openly self-identify as transgender out of immediate service.
The separation began Thursday at the same time those who have yet to step forward as transgender have been granted 30 days to depart of their own volition.
The Department of Defense (DOD) has also begun searching medical records to reveal others who haven’t declared as it challenges the long-held establishment media narrative that some 15,000 transgender military personnel now serve.
These moves come on the back of Tuesday’s Supreme Court decision allowing the Trump administration to enforce a long-promised ban on transgender individuals in the military, as Breitbart News reported.
In a brief order, SCOTUS justices granted an emergency request to “lift a nationwide injunction blocking the policy.” Read more

4. EXCLUSIVE: States Urge Clinton-Appointed Judge To Stop ‘Extreme’ Effort To Undermine Trump’s Authority Over Agencies- Daily Caller
Twenty-one states are urging a district court judge not to undermine the executive branch’s authority by intervening in decisions about the federal workforce, according to an amicus brief shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Labor unions, local governments and nonprofits, backed by the left-wing group Democracy Forward, sued April 28 to block over 20 agencies from reducing their workforces, a process President Donald Trump initiated through a February executive order.
The states, led by Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, asserted an interest in the case because the plaintiffs “seek to turn the separation of powers on its head and diminish the President’s authority under Article II of the Constitution.” They urged Clinton-appointed Judge Susan Illston, who is overseeing the case, to deny the request.
“Plaintiffs invite this court to begin micromanaging the personnel decisions of virtually the entire federal government, from the Department of Defense and Department of State to the EPA and Social Security Administration,” the states wrote in an amicus brief. “This sweeping request may be more extreme than any currently pending case.” Read more

5. Trump Says 80% China Tariff ‘Seems Right’ – Breitbart
President Donald Trump indicated that he would approve an 80 percent tariff on China but said the path of the negotiations would be up to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
“80% Tariff on China seems right! Up to Scott B,” Trump said in a social-media post Friday morning.
The administration said last month that it would raise the tariff on goods imported from China to 145 percent. Earlier, Trump had indicated lower tariff levels raised the tariff when China announced it would retaliate against the U.S. with tariffs of its own.
Trump also urged China to open up its market to U.S. products.
“CHINA SHOULD OPEN UP ITS MARKET TO USA — WOULD BE SO GOOD FOR THEM!!! CLOSED MARKETS DON’T WORK ANYMORE!!!,” Trump said in a separate post. Read more

6. Department of Justice opens criminal investigation into NY AG Letitia James - Fox
The Department of Justice has opened a criminal investigation into New York Attorney General Letitia James, Fox News has learned.
Separately, the Washington Post reported that a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia sent out subpoenas related to accusations that James misrepresented a single-family home in Virginia as her primary residence to obtain more favorable loan terms.
The DOJ and FBI declined to comment on the matter.
News of the federal probe follows a criminal referral from the Trump administration's Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William Pulte, who requested the DOJ investigate James over that matter and another incident in which she allegedly misrepresented the number of livable units in a multifamily Brooklyn house to once again obtain better loan terms. - Lord, we thank You that this was revealed. We pray that You will find a way into James’ heart to change her entire perspective by bringing repentance. If she refuses Your love, we ask that she be removed.

Colorado Trans Bill Called a "Legal Requirement to Lie"
|
|
|
Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) recently signed a bill forcing taxpayers to fund abortion. Now, a bill that classifies the refusal to use a transgender-identifying person’s “preferred name” as discrimination is heading to his desk for signature.
House Bill 25-1312, dubbed the Kelly Loving Act, received final Senate approval on Tuesday with a 20-14 vote. It designates intentional “deadnaming” — using a trans-identifying person’s original name — or misgendering as discriminatory under the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act. Additionally, it requires school policies on chosen names to be inclusive of “all reasons” a student might use a different name and permits students to follow any dress code variation, regardless of gender.
According to the bill’s text, a “chosen name” refers to a name someone wants to be known by related to “disability, race, creed, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, familial status, national origin, or ancestry, so long as the name does not contain offensive language and the individual is not requesting the name for frivolous purposes.”
Following Senate amendments, the House approved the revised bill, which now heads to Polis. The legislation sparked almost seven hours of heated debate in the Senate on Monday, as Democrats argued the legislation addresses persistent harassment of transgender individuals, while Republicans raised concerns about parental rights and government overreach. Mile-wide underwater volcano ready to erupt off the West Coast
|
|
The frequency of earthquakes has recently picked up dramatically as the volcano inflates with increasingly more magma, signaling an eruption could be near, according to researchers.
(CNN) — Things are heating up hundreds of miles off the coast of Oregon, where a large undersea volcano is showing signs of impending eruption, scientists say.
The volcano, known as Axial Seamount, is located nearly 1 mile (1.4 kilometers) underwater on a geological hot spot, where searing gushes of molten rock rise from Earth’s mantle and into the crust. Hotspot volcanoes are common on the seafloor. But Axial Seamount also happens to be located on the Juan de Fuca Ridge — an area where two massive tectonic plates (the Pacific and the Juan de Fuca plates) are constantly spreading apart, causing a steady buildup of pressure beneath the planet’s surface.
The frequency of earthquakes has recently picked up dramatically as the volcano inflates with increasingly more magma, signaling an eruption could be near, according to researchers at the National Science Foundation’s Ocean Observatories Initiative Regional Cabled Array, a facility operated by the University of Washington that monitors the activity of Axial Seamount.
“At the moment, there are a couple hundred earthquakes a day, but that’s still a lot less than we saw before the previous eruption,” said William Wilcock, a marine geophysicist and professor at the University of Washington School of Oceanography who studies the volcano. Read More
