Russians and Ukrainians fight for unity in Israel’s Christian community
Israel (MNN) — What comes to mind when you think of Christian churches in Israel? Many Americans picture Messianic Jewish congregations made up of Hebrew speakers. Eric Mock with the Slavic Gospel Association says few people think of Israel’s Russian speaking population. “That ranges, depending on location, anywhere from 15 to 25 percent of the population,” he says. Mock says one of the joys for SGA is serving the Russian-speaking Jewish churches that the Lord is raising up there. On a recent trip to Israel, he met with Christian leaders and pastors. “I was blessed to meet with people that I dearly love, and they are pastoring and leading small churches: sometimes meeting in the basement of buildings in industrial parks,” he says.

Word about their growing faith community is spread person-to-person. “They were discouraged because they are pastoring small churches,” Mock says, and he responded by telling them, “That’s not a bad thing. It’s a beautiful thing.” He exhorted pastors to focus less on church growth and more on disciple making, pointing them to Matthew 16:18, in which Christ instructs Peter that God is the one who builds His church. “In these small churches, there were too many times that they were trying to force a Western, big church model into their little churches and not celebrate what God was doing in their midst,” Mock says. - Father, we celebrate Your presence and shalom in the midst of our brothers and sisters in Christ and praise You for the unity among them. May there be continual 'Joy of the Lord' within each believer because of their unwavering faith in Jesus. Bless these churches and the body of Christ so they may continue to mentor in love, grow in numbers and bring in a harvest for Your holy Kingdom. To God be all the Glory! In the powerful Name of Yeshua, Amen.

- "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:35)

US and China take a step back from sky-high tariffs and agree to pause for 90 days for more talks

GENEVA (AP) — The United States and China agreed Monday to slash their massive recent tariffs, restarting stalled trade between the world’s two biggest economies and setting off a rally in global financial markets.

But the de-escalation in President Donald Trump’s trade wars did nothing to resolve underlying differences between Beijing and Washington. The deal lasts 90 days, creating time for U.S. and Chinese negotiators to reach a more substantive agreement. But the pause also leaves tariffs higher than before Trump started ramping them up last month. And businesses and investors must contend with uncertainty about whether the truce will last.

U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the U.S. agreed to drop the 145% tax Trump imposed last month to 30%. China agreed to lower its tariff rate on U.S. goods to 10% from 125%.

Greer and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the tariff reductions at a news conference in Geneva.

The delegations, escorted around town and guarded by scores of Swiss police, met for at least a dozen hours on both days of the weekend at a sunbaked 18th-century villa that serves as the official residence of the Swiss ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva.

At times, the delegation leaders broke away from their staffs and settled into sofas on the villa’s patios overlooking Lake Geneva, helping deepen personal ties in the effort to reach a much-sought deal. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Zelenskyy Says He’s Willing to Meet With Putin
in Turkey

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 11, agreeing to meet him in Turkey on May 15 while reiterating the need for a full, temporary cease-fire between the two warring neighbors before talks commence on a lasting peace.

“It is a positive sign that the Russians have finally begun to consider ending the war,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post on social media platform X. “The entire world has been waiting for this for a very long time. And the very first step in truly ending any war is a ceasefire.”

Ukraine awaits a “full and lasting ceasefire, starting from tomorrow, to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy,” Zelenskyy wrote in a later post on May 11, while at the same time agreeing to meet with Putin in Turkey.

On May 11, Russia resumed mass drone attacks on Ukraine, capping the end of its self-declared three-day pause in fighting.

Ukraine’s Air Force stated on May 11 that Russia had launched 108 attack drones and simulator drones from six different locations, with 60 drones shot down and another 41 simulator drones failing to hit their targets following Ukrainian countermeasures.

Zelenskyy highlighted a proposal to begin a 30-day unconditional cease-fire on May 12, saying he expects Putin to commit to a “full, lasting, and reliable” cease-fire by May 12 and that “Ukraine is ready to meet.”

“There is no point in continuing the killing even for a single day,” Zelenskyy said.

While speaking to the media early on May 11, Putin called for resuming direct peace talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on May 15 “without any preconditions,” during which a cease-fire could be negotiated. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord we continue to lift up the people of Ukraine and Russia to you that you would help them and comfort them. We continue to pray peace over these two countries, that your love and your perfect peace will surround them, silencing all chaos and confusion. We pray that you would make a way in these pending talks, where there seems to be no way, for answers to come to light,
ending this war. In Jesus' name, amen.

- “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16)

Another Air Traffic Control Equipment Outage Impacts Flights at New Jersey’s Newark Airport

Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey experienced another air traffic equipment outage on May 11, causing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue a temporary ground stop for all flights bound for the airport.

The ground stop halted flights from taking off if their destination was Newark, and it lasted roughly 45 minutes, according to FAA air traffic advisories.

Specific details of the outage were not described in the advisories, but the FAA confirmed the incident to The Epoch Times.

“There was a telecommunications issue at Philadelphia TRACON Area C, which guides aircraft in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport airspace,” an FAA spokesperson wrote in a statement. “The FAA briefly slowed aircraft in and out of the airport while we ensured redundancies were working as designed. Operations have returned to normal.”

There were 86 delays at Newark Liberty International Airport and 81 cancellations as of 11:30 a.m. ET on May 11, according to flight tracking site FlightAware.

In a May 11 interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the facility’s equipment was antiquated and said the software “glitch” would be fixed soon.

“We have to fix this, because what you see in Newark is going to happen in other places across the country,” Duffy said, describing the problem as ongoing telecommunication issues.

“As the information comes in, it’s overloading some of our lines, and the system goes down. Specifically, in Newark, we believe we’re going to have it up and running. In short order, we’re going to be able to fix that glitch.

“And we feel a little more comfortable about our primary line that gets the data in, on radar, and our redundant line is up and working as well.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord we pray over this crisis, that you give the authorities wisdom on how to resolve these problems. We pray that you would comfort those who have been affected by this and that this issue would be resolved swiftly, in Jesus' name, amen.

- “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Trump Announces Order to Reduce
Prescription Drug Prices

President Donald Trump announced on May 11 that he would sign an executive order that he said would reduce prescription drug prices “almost immediately.”

“I am pleased to announce that Tomorrow morning, in the White House, at 9:00 A.M., I will be signing one of the most consequential Executive Orders in our Country’s history,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“Prescription Drug and Pharmaceutical prices will be REDUCED, almost immediately, by 30% to 80%. They will rise throughout the World in order to equalize and, for the first time in many years, bring FAIRNESS TO AMERICA!”

He said this would be achieved by instituting a most favored nation’s policy “whereby the United States will pay the same price as the Nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the World.”

The benefits of the move will primarily apply to those on Medicare Part B, a federal insurance plan that offers coverage at a monthly premium. The Most Favored Nation Drug Policy requires drugmakers to offer Medicare Part B the lowest price among certain peer nations for a slate of high-cost prescription medications.

Trump was critical of the pharmaceutical industry in the announcement, saying that companies had forced Americans to bear the brunt of research and development costs for years.

“The Pharmaceutical/Drug Companies would say, for years, that it was Research and Development Costs, and that all of these costs were, and would be, for no reason whatsoever, borne by the ‘suckers’ of America, ALONE,” Trump wrote. “Campaign Contributions can do wonders, but not with me, and not with the Republican Party. We are going to do the right thing, something that the Democrats have fought for many years.”

According to a 2024 report from the Department of Health and Human Services, Americans pay higher prices for prescription drugs than people anywhere else in the world—more than twice as much on average. For the most expensive medications, the disparity is even greater.

The executive order reinstates Trump’s 2020 plan, which had similar parameters and was partway through the rule-making process when he left office. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord we thank you for this righteous decision. We understand that the system was supposed to be built to serve others but instead it’s become a wasteful entity serving only those at the top. So we humble ourselves before you, God, and we look to you only for direction about how to maintain our health and how to clean up this corrupt system. We ask that You give President Trump your wisdom, Lord, as he works to correct this system. In Jesus' name, amen.

- “For the Lord has a hidden storehouse of wisdom made accessible to his godly ones. He becomes your personal bodyguard as you follow his ways, protecting and guarding you as you choose what is right.” (Proverbs 2:7-8)

3. Liberman: US aid plan for Gaza ‘very, very negative’ - JNS

Avigdor Liberman, leader of Israel’s opposition Yisrael Beiteinu Party, on Monday denounced the Trump administration’s plan to let aid supplies into the Gaza Strip as a “very, very negative development.”

“In my opinion, humanitarian aid—of any kind—should not have been allowed to enter since the start of the war, as long as our hostages are rotting in Hamas’s tunnels,” Liberman stated in response to a question from JNS at his party’s faction meeting at the Knesset in Jerusalem.

“We just need to say it out loud to everyone and stand by it,” Liberman said. “You want humanitarian aid? First, return the hostages, then we’ll talk. And therefore, for me, this is a very, very negative development.” (Read more)

5. Israel Asks ICC Judges to Withdraw Netanyahu Arrest Warrant - Algemeiner

I
srael has asked judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) to withdraw arrest warrants against its prime minister and former defense minister while the ICC reviews Israeli challenges to its jurisdiction over the conduct of the Gaza war.

Documents published on the ICC website late on Sunday also show Israel has asked the court to order the prosecution to suspend its investigation into alleged crimes in the Palestinian territories.

The documents are dated May 9 and signed by Israeli Deputy Attorney General Gilad Noam.

The ICC issued arrest warrants on Nov. 21 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense chief, as well as a Hamas leader, Ibrahim al-Masri, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict.

The ICC said in February that judges had withdrawn the arrest warrant for al-Masri, also known as Mohammed Deif, following credible reports of his death.

Israel, which rejects the jurisdiction of the Hague-based court and denies war crimes in Gaza, is contesting the warrants against Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant.

“Israel may not be a formal party to the U.S. agreement, but the Houthis understand what’s at stake,” Huckabee said. “If they continue to attack Israel, they are potentially attacking America, since there are 700,000 Americans living in Israel. If they harm an American, they are essentially attacking America.”

The Daily Jot

Who's Your GOAT?

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 12, 2025

Every sports program and barbershop is filled with it—GOAT talk. Who’s the greatest of all time? Brady with the rings, Jordan with the edge, Gretzky with the records? Everyone has their pick, their stats, their highlight reel. But the greatest of all time isn’t a quarterback, a shooting guard, or a hockey legend. The real GOAT—the One who redefined greatness—is found not in a stadium, but in the Scriptures. Leviticus 16, walks us through the most sacred observance in ancient Israel: Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. It was the one day each year when the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies and seek forgiveness for the sins of the nation. The ceremony, considered as one sacrifice, involved two goats.

One goat was sacrificed “to the LORD,” its blood sprinkled on the mercy seat. The second goat—the se’ir mishtale’ach, or “sent goat”—had the sins of the people confessed over it before being led into the wilderness, “to Azazel.” Azazel is a name of a demon, or even Satan himself, the name is also regarded as a mountainous region. According to the Jewish sage Mamonides, “Azazel” represented the extreme point of being outside the camp (physically and spiritually). William Tyndale, in translating Scripture into English, coined the term “scapegoat.” That’s where it comes from. And its meaning is heavy. It symbolized not only the cost of sin, but the removal of guilt and shame. Read More

Trump Asks SCOTUS to Check Lower Courts as Chief Justice Moves to Check Exec. Branch and Congress

For months now, President Donald Trump has been in a worsening conflict with the federal courts. While the U.S. Supreme Court has weighed in on some cases — handing the Trump administration victories in some cases and defeats in others — Chief Justice John Roberts is now making rare public remarks on what he perceives the judiciary’s purpose to be, as the president seeks the Supreme Court’s help in curbing the onslaught of nationwide injunctions and temporary restraining orders (TROs) hampering the administration.

Speaking at the Western District of New York’s 125th anniversary celebration Wednesday night, Roberts intoned, “In our Constitution, judges and the judiciary is a co-equal branch of government separate from the others, with the authority to interpret the Constitution as law and strike down acts of Congress or acts of the president.” He continued, “That innovation doesn’t work if the judiciary is not independent. Its job is to — obviously, decide cases — but, in the course of that, check the excesses of Congress or of the executive, and that does require a degree of independence.”

Federal judges have been heavily restricting the president’s “Make America Great Again” agenda, particularly targeting his immigration policy. Nationwide injunctions and TROs have barred the Trump administration from using the Alien Enemies Act (AEA) to deport illegal immigrants affiliated with the foreign terrorist organization Tren de Aragua (TdA), keeping taxpayer dollars from going to attorneys who defend illegal immigrants in court for free or from “sanctuary” cities sheltering illegal immigrants from federal authorities, and ending parole programs used by the previous administration to usher hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants into the U.S.

The Supreme Court has intervened in several of the cases besieging the Trump administration but has delivered mixed results. Most recently, the nation’s highest court stayed a lower court’s order, allowing the Trump administration to start removing individuals who identify as transgender from the military. But in another major case, the Supreme Court vacated an order from Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia — the order which had barred the Trump administration from using the AEA to deport TdA members and affiliates — only to impose new restrictions on the president’s use of the AEA in a move Justice Samuel Alito described as “unprecedented and legally questionable,” potentially overstepping the court’s jurisdiction and violating its own rules.

Nonetheless, the Trump administration is asking the Supreme Court to intervene once again in yet another immigration-related case. . . (Washington Stand) Read more here.

- Holy and Mighty One, we pray for the Supreme Court, Justice Roberts and the judicial arena to come under Godly and righteous authority, as they seek to "check excesses" of the other "co-equal" branches of government. We declare that the executive and legislative branches also have responsibility to "check excesses" within the judicial branch as well because no branch stands above the other. We pray for this covenant nation to operate according to Your instructions and guidelines, in the name of Jesus. We pray Abba, that You would expose every area of corruption, compromise and unrighteous dealings that have been released against President Trump, hindering him from fulfilling the executive responsibilities for which he was elected, in Jesus name.

- "'Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.'" (2 Chronicles 19:9)
Rescuing Children by Caring for Moms: Why the MOMs Act Secures America’s Future

America stands at a crossroads. Our nation faces rising abortion rates, widening gaps in maternal health care, and mounting economic pressures that threaten the well-being of families across the nation. Without bold action, these trends will erode women’s health, destabilize families, and undermine the prosperity of future generations.

The More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed (MOMS) Act, introduced this week by Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), offers a compassionate, life-affirming solution to these challenges, empowering mothers and their children to thrive.

Recent months have marked a significant shift in America’s landscape. Thirteen Planned Parenthood facilities have closed: four in Illinois, four in Michigan, two in Utah, as well as facilities in California, New York, and Vermont. Just last week, the Boulder Abortion Clinic, operated for over 50 years by abortionist Warren Hern, who is responsible for ending the lives of over 42,000 preborn children, shuttered permanently. These closures are a triumph for the culture of life, signaling an opportunity for legislators to direct their focus toward supporting mothers facing unexpected pregnancies.

However, this is not the finish line; it is a call to action. Now is the time to provide robust, life-affirming resources, care, compassion, and practical support, so every woman can choose life with confidence and thrive.

The MOMS Act recognizes these realities and responds with practical, life-affirming solutions. If we’re going to advance a culture of life in America, we need to implement commonsense policies. Policies that reverse our decline and empower the women in our country who are called to be mothers.

Passing the MOMS Act is more than a legislative act — it is a moral imperative. It is an investment in the next generation, an affirmation that every life is valuable, and a statement that America’s future is worth fighting for.

- Abba, we give You high praise for the creation of the MOMS Act by Sen. Katie Britt.  Father God, this legislation is such a picture of Your heart for moms and babies in our nation, thank You for bringing it into the light.  We ask You to open hearts as You did Sen. Britt's, speak to those who have ears to hear Your voice, and set in motion a renewed desire to have children because of the help and hope this legislation will bring.  Holy Spirit, call forth Your warrior angels to fight this battle for us in the heavenlies, bring strength and courage to all who are fighting to push this across the finish line from legislation to law.  We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, The Lord of Hosts, the God who is able to accomplish all that He determines to do.

- "Children are a heritage from the Lord,
           offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one's youth.
Blessed is the man who quiver is full of them."

American hostage Edan Alexander released by Hamas after more than 580 days in captivity

Hamas released the last living American hostage Monday, after he spent more than 580 days in captivity inside the Gaza Strip.

Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, was received by a specialized Israel Defense Forces unit and was brought to an initial reception facility in Re’im, where he will undergo preliminary medical and psychological evaluation by IDF Medical Corps personnel, an Israeli official told Fox News.

"This is a very emotional moment -- Edan Alexander has returned home. We embrace him, and we embrace his family," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. "This was achieved thanks to our military pressure and the diplomatic pressure applied by President Trump. That combination is a winning formula."

President Donald Trump, following Alexander's release, wrote on Truth Social "Congratulations to his wonderful parents, family, and friends!"

"The Al-Qassam Brigades have just released the Israeli soldier holding American citizenship, Edan Alexander, following communications with the U.S. administration," Hamas said in a statement. "This comes as part of the mediators’ efforts to reach a ceasefire, open the border crossings, and allow the entry of aid and relief for our people in the Gaza Strip."

Following his release, Yael Alexander spoke with her son over a phone handed to her by Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East.

"Edan, Edan You’re out? My love, you are safe! That’s it. It’s over now," the elated mother said. "I’m here waiting for you.

"They just released a photo of you - you look unbelievable," she added. "Wow, you look beautiful. I love you so much. I love you and I'm going to see you." (Fox News) Read more here.

- Father God, we are moved to tears of JOY as we have witnessed the release of Edan Alexander from his Hamas captors. We continue to plead for the release of all other hostages, both living and deceased, from the grip of these wicked people. Help us, O Lord, we pray, amen and amen!

- "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free ." (Luke 4:18)
And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!
"The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

After two decades: Historic renovation work begins at the Little Western Wall
After 20 years of activity and initiatives that did not come to fruition, renovation work began on Monday morning at the Little Western Wall (HaKotel HaKatan) in the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City, following personal approval from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Little Western Wall, located north of the Western Wall plaza next to the Iron Gate, is a site of great historical and religious significance, and the need for its restoration has been raised for many years but was repeatedly postponed due to security and political complexities.

The decision to commence the work was made after lengthy discussions involving the Prime Minister, representatives of the National Security Council, the police, and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).

The Jordanian government was informed about the start of the work only a few hours before it began. (Israel National News)  Read More
