As abortion totals in the United States hover above one million lives lost in 2024, the need for pregnancy help services is greater than ever. As President Prepares for Mideast Trip, Evangelical & Israeli Leaders Increasingly Anxious About Trump's Bid for Iran Deal, Relationship with Qatar

As President Donald J. Trump prepares to travel to the Middle East next week, I’m picking up a growing level of concern from senior Israeli officials and influential Evangelical leaders about how the American commander-in-chief is approaching the Iranian regime and the tiny Gulf country of Qatar.
In conversations with nearly two dozen Israeli and Evangelical leaders in Jerusalem and now here in the U.S., I’m hearing three distinct messages.
First: “We trust President Trump more than any other American leader in history — and certainly far more than President Joe Biden — to stand with Israel, but why isn’t he even going to Israel on his first major foreign trip?”
Second: “Steve Witkoff — Trump’s Mideast envoy — is smart and capable, but he’s stretched way too thin by trying to bring peace between Russia and Ukraine, get all the hostages released from Gaza, and end the Iran threat once and for all. He doesn’t know the Iran portfolio. And he could very well get played by the Iranians, who are experts at playing three-dimensional chess.”
Third: “Why in the world is Trump going to Qatar, a country that pretends to be an American ally but is way too close to Tehran and Hamas?”
Every single leader — including several Arab officials in the region with whom I’ve interacted — is especially worried that Trump will accept a deal with Iran that does not end the nuclear, missile, and terrorism threat once and for all and will leave the regime intact and economically flourishing. It Is Really Happening: The Numbers Show That US Exports and US Imports are Both Collapsing Dramatically

Over the last several decades, the global economy has become more interconnected than ever, but now everything is changing. The flow of goods between the number one economic power on the planet and the number two economic power on the planet is absolutely imploding, and that is going to have enormous implications on both sides of the Pacific. I have written quite a bit about the dramatic decline of U.S. imports, but the numbers show that U.S. exports are falling precipitously as well. According to CNBC, there has been a 51 percent decline in exports at the Port of Portland and a 28 percent decline in exports at the Port of Tacoma…
What began as a rapid drop in U.S. imports as shippers cut orders from manufacturing partners around the world has now extended into a nationwide export slump, with the U.S. agricultural sector and top farm products including soybeans, corn and beef taking the hardest hit.
Overall, there are 10 major U.S. ports that have already experienced a double digit decline in export volume. Agricultural exports are being hit harder than anything else. Needless to say, this is extremely bad news for U.S. farmers.

- Abba, we do appreciate Mr. Snyder's evaluation of our economy and how the tariffs are beginning to have an effect on our nation, but he doesn't seem to realize that all of this was Your idea and You will see us through all that it brings. Father God, we ask for Your hand to control the amount of product that we import and the amount that we export. We ask You to supernaturally hold our economy in a place that doesn't cause great distress. Give all in our country the courage to walk this out with You even when it makes no sense at all, You never said it had to make sense. Jesus, we ask You to give President Trump the knowledge, wisdom and understanding to follow Your directions as You rebuild our economy, and give Your intercessors the vision to pray into circumstances that will make this path straight and smooth. Israel Prepares for Final Push Against Hamas with "Gideon's Chariots"

Israeli troops are set to "act with great force" until all war goals for Gaza, including the defeat of Hamas and securing the release of every hostage, are achieved, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Wednesday.
The entire population of the Gaza Strip will be evacuated to the southern part of the enclave during the fighting, and the Israel Defense Force will stay in "every area that is taken," the defense minister said.
"The operation is intended to defeat Hamas and bring about the release of all the hostages. We will act with great force to destroy all of Hamas's military and governmental capabilities," he told soldiers of the IDF's 162nd "Steel Formation" Armored Division, which is expected to take part in the ground campaign, dubbed "Operation Gideon's Chariots."
"From the moment the maneuver begins, we will act with great force and will not stop until all objectives are achieved," Katz continued.

- Abba, Your people Israel need Your help. We ask for Your hand to cover and protect every person involved in the military push against Hamas. We ask You to protect all civilians from harm on both sides of this war. Father God, You know where every Hamas operative is located, where every stash of weapons is hidden, and where it is safe to move forward and where it is not safe. We ask You to provide all of that information to the IDF and all Shin Bet leadership giving them exact information on where and how to move forward. Holy Spirit, dispatch legions of warrior angels to go before, protect from behind and guard each flank as the soldiers move out. Allow Hamas to see the angels and bring their hearts into great fear, have them turn and run, have them lay down their arms and give up this fight that they cannot win.
Father God, You know the beginning from the end. We are asking for Your mercy, for Your justice, and for Your love to fall in Gaza and all of Israel. Pour out Your presence, bring Hamas to their knees as they experience Your all encompassing love. We ask this in the name Yahweh M'Kaddesh, The Lord Who Sanctifies, Makes Holy, The only God who can redeem us and set us apart. Amen.

1. Katz warns Iran, Houthis: Israel will strike with full force - JNS
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a sharp warning on Thursday morning in response to the recent escalation by Iranian-backed Houthi forces, declaring that “Israel must be able to defend itself independently against any threat and any enemy.”
In a statement posted in Hebrew on X, Katz wrote: “The Houthis will absorb heavy blows from Israel if they continue firing toward us. The IDF is prepared for any mission.”
Katz also directed his remarks at Tehran, stating unequivocally, “I warn the Iranian leadership that funds, arms and operates the Houthi terrorist organization: The proxy method is over and the axis of evil has collapsed. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Hossein Salami warned on Thursday that Iran would retaliate against Israel and the US should the two countries strike Iran.
"I’m issuing a serious warning: if you make one wrong move, we will open up the gates of hell on you," said Salami, as quoted by Iran International.
"Sit down and stay in your place ... we have made extensive preparations. These are serious warnings to Zionist officials, to US officials. The criminal Prime Minister of the Zionist regime talks a lot these days, threatens Iran," he added.
"If you make a mistake, we’ll act on you in a way that you forget the True Promise 1 and 2," he said, in reference to Iran’s attacks on Israel last year. (Read more)

Shin Bet officials are reportedly urging politicians to treat the proliferation of weapons in Arab society as a national security threat, reports Israel’s Channel 12 News.
According to the report, the agency’s research division authored a document defining the accessibility and quantity of illegal arms in Arab society as “a threat to Israel’s national security” that must be dealt with immediately.
The Shin Bet reportedly fears another outbreak of widespread nationalist violence, akin to the interethnic riots that swept across mixed cities on the backdrop of the 2021 Gaza war.
The document reportedly suggests that in order to deter illegal weapons trafficking, enforcement agencies treat weapons-related offenses as security offenses — a move that would lead to harsher sentencing for the former. (Read more)

Hamas tried to use Omer Shem Tov in a terror trap designed to kill IDF soldiers, the released former hostage revealed in an interview with Channel 12's Uvda program on Thursday evening.
In the interview, Shem Tov recounted how terrorists began spreading what Shem Tov estimated to be around three million shekels on the floor, before instructing him to blow up a building on top of the tunnel they were keeping him captive, he said. When he refused to participate in the trap, he recounted how the terrorists threatened to shoot him in the head.
The released hostage, who was abducted from the Nova Music festival on October 7 and spent his 505 days as a captive in Gaza, also recounted being starved underground and given “salty water.” (Read more)

5. IAF strikes Hezbollah site in southeast Lebanon - World Israel News
Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out a targeted strike on Thursday afternoon in the Beaufort Ridge area of southeastern Lebanon’s Nabatieh District, hitting a site used by Hezbollah to manage its fire and air defense systems.
The attack neutralized multiple terrorists, weapons, and underground shafts, the military said. The facility was part of a significant subterranean Hezbollah project that, due to repeated IDF strikes, has now been rendered inoperable.
The IDF stressed that the existence and operational use of this site is a clear violation of the post-Second Lebanon War understandings between Israel and Lebanon, and of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which bar Hezbollah activity south of the Litani River.
“The IDF will continue operating to remove any threat to the State of Israel and will prevent any attempt by the Hezbollah terrorist organization to restore its capabilities,” the military said. (Read more)

2. State Dept Reviewing Visa Statuses of Columbia Anti-Zionist Protesters – Discern Report
On Wednesday afternoon, over 100 masked anti-Israel protesters stormed Columbia University’s Butler Library in New York City, bypassing security as students studied for finals, prompting university officials to call in the New York Police Department (NYPD) to manage the disruptive crowd.
The NYPD arrested more than 80 individuals, all Columbia students, according to Fox News
sources. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) monitored the situation, with plans to fingerprint arrestees to identify any non-citizens. “Time to make a point,” an ICE source told Fox News.
Non-protesting students were forced to abandon their studies and evacuate the library, they told Fox News. The State Department issued a warning to foreign students about legal consequences, stating, “Foreign university students in America have been put on notice: if you break the law or support terrorism in our country, we will revoke your visa. This administration will not tolerate noncitizens causing mayhem on our college campuses.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio added, “We are reviewing the visa status of the trespassers and vandals who took over Columbia University’s library. Pro-Hamas thugs are no longer welcome in our great nation.” (Read more)

4. What We Know About the India-Pakistan Conflict – The Epoch Times
Pakistan said on Thursday it had shot down 12 Indian drones overnight, as the conflict over Kashmir threatens to spiral out of control. One drone wounded four soldiers and damaged a military target near the city of Lahore and a civilian was killed when debris from a drone fell in a populated area of Sindh province in southern Pakistan.
India has not commented, and The Epoch Times is unable to verify the claims made by Pakistan.
The crisis between India and Pakistan, both nuclear powers, has escalated in the past two weeks. After several relatively quiet years, a terrorist attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir on April 22 suddenly ratcheted tensions between India and Pakistan.
Three gunmen killed 26 people, mostly male Hindu tourists, during the attack in Baisaran meadow, three miles from the resort town of Pahalgam.
An unknown group called the Kashmir Resistance, also known as The Resistance Front, claimed responsibility, and India suggested the group was an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist group that has in the past attacked the Indian military and police in Indian-administered Kashmir. (Read more)

5. Germany To Turn Away More Asylum Seekers at Border – The Epoch Times
Chancellor Merz’s interior minister said that he wants to ’send a clear signal to the world and to Europe that the policy in Germany has changed.’
The new German government has ordered the pushback of more illegal immigrants and asylum seekers at the nation’s borders. On the first day of the new administration, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt issued the order on May 7 which he said will gradually increase the number of rejections and stronger controls at the borders. “This issue is about clarity, consistency and control. We are not going to close the borders, but we are going to control the borders more strictly and this stronger control of the borders will also lead to a higher number of rejections,” Dobrindt said
“We will ensure that, step by step, more police forces are deployed at the borders and can also carry out these push-backs.” (Read more)

The Tariff Transparency Trap--Amazon and Temu's Misleading Math

Big Tech and fast-fashion retailers are playing a new game with old rules — and the rest of us are being misled in the process. Amazon announced it will begin displaying tariffs as a line item in customer checkout totals. Meanwhile, Chinese e-commerce giant Temu is adding “import charges” to its pricing, following the reintroduction of Trump-era tariffs. On the surface, it sounds like these companies are embracing transparency. In reality, they’re shifting blame and confusing shoppers about who’s really paying the price. Temu is inflating the retail value of the import when the tariffs are based on the wholesale value. And then Amazon backtracked by denying its announcement after a call from Trump.
Here’s the truth: US tariffs on Chinese goods are based on the wholesale value — the price paid by importers, not the final sticker price seen by consumers. A 25% tariff on a $100 item imported from China means the importer owes $25. That cost may then be passed on, but it’s up to the seller how much of that burden hits the customer. The key point here is that tariffs are calculated based on the wholesale cost of the goods at the point of importation, not the retail price. For example, if an importer buys a product for $10, and the tariff rate is 25%, the tariff would be calculated on the $10 wholesale cost — not the $20 price you might see at a retail store. This is outlined by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which uses the customs value — typically the wholesale price — to determine the appropriate tariff. Read More

‘A National Security Issue’: Berkeley, Other U.S. Universities Receiving Millions from China

As millions of dollars in foreign donations to American research institutions from countries like China continue to be uncovered, lawmakers say the practice endangers national security and are pushing for legislation that would require universities to disclose donations from adversarial countries that pose a threat to the U.S.
Last week, a report from The Washington Free Beacon revealed that the University of California, Berkeley “received donations from a blacklisted Chinese research university, Chinese Communist Party officials, and a Beijing state-owned chemical company.” The donations included $60,000 from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2023, which was added to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s sanction list a year later for “acquiring and attempting to acquire U.S.-origin items in support of advancing China's quantum technology capabilities, which has serious ramifications for U.S. national security given the military applications of quantum technologies.”
Also in 2023, Berkeley received a $336,000 donation from Vincent Cheung Sai Sing, a member of an advisory body to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). That same year, Berkeley got a $160,000 donation from the Glorious Sun Group, whose chairman, Charles Yeung, was a member of a CCP-affiliated committee. Another $75,000 came from Duane Ziping Kuang, the managing partner of the China-based venture capital firm Qiming Venture Partners.
These latest discoveries are barely the tip of the iceberg of the hundreds of millions of dollars that have flowed into Berkeley from Xi Jinping’s communist regime. Li Ka-shing, the billionaire founder of CK Hutchison, a Hong Kong conglomerate, “donated $5.7 million to Berkeley’s biological sciences division in 2023,” which Berkeley deceptively reported as coming from Canada. That same year, the university failed to report to the government $220 million that the university received from China to build a joint Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute, which the Trump administration is now investigating.
Multiple other universities also appear to be hiding the origins of donations, some of which have been shown to have originated in China. As the Beacon reported in February, almost a billion dollars have come flooding into American universities over the past four years from “mystery donors in offshore tax havens.” The donations include “over $600 million from donors in Bermuda, $280 million from Guernsey, $25 million from the British Virgin Islands, $25 million from the Bahamas, $17.5 million from [the] Cayman Islands, and $11 million from the island of Jersey.”
Lawmakers like Rep. Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas), who serves on the House Select Committee on the CCP, say that American universities have been receiving vast amounts of money from U.S. adversaries such as China for decades, which the communist country has leveraged in order to steal intellectual property.
Moran went on to emphasize that massive foreign donations to universities “absolutely is a national security issue.”
“That’s why Congress passed the Deterrent Act earlier this year to strengthen Section 117 of the Higher Education Act, which is the requirement for educational institutions to report donations over $250,000,” he continued. “But the Deterrent Act goes further. It says, ‘Hey, we’re going to move that to $50,000 for any foreign investment into our higher education system, and we’re going to move it to zero dollars.’ If you get anything above zero dollars from a foreign entity of concern, you have to report that.”

- Father God, how have these manipulative donations from the Chinese Communist Party members, businesses and organizations come to be accepted by U.S. universities as acceptable and then have the very same schools lie about the origins of the funding? Who has left the back doors open and invited the influence of an enemy of our republic to come in and corrupt both our children and our higher educational systems as well as use information gained from the research to subvert our nation?
Omnipotent Father, cause us to wake up and demand answers and justice. Empower investigators to see which individuals and organizations have facilitated these actions from a communist nation that is trying to orchestrate our collapse with forces from both within and outside of the U.S. May there be a review of higher education in this nation that restructures the administrations, staff and curriculums to reflect truth and the core values of our country as set forth in the Constitution of the United States of America. May foreign perpetrators be deported and banned from our nation. Bring their U.S. co-conspirators to justice, and may they lose their positions within the universities. We thank you that the Deterrant Act has passed the House and pray for the same response from the Senate. May this act be quickly enforced and implemented fully.

May he be used to bring multitudes into Your harvest and to undo any doctrinal errors that have been put before the Catholic Church in the past. May Pope Leo XIV be mightily blessed and protected as he seeks Your face and Your heart; Holy Spirit, fill him with more and more of You. May he have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Father is doing, and may he always reflect the Father’s love and heart in truth. Surround him, please, with those who will bring Your perfect wisdom and counsel.

New Visualization From NASA’s Webb Telescope Explores Cosmic Cliffs

In July 2022, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope made its public debut with a series of breathtaking images. Among them was an ethereal landscape nicknamed the Cosmic Cliffs. This glittering realm of star birth is the subject of a new 3D visualization derived from the Webb data. The visualization, created by NASA’s Universe of Learning and titled “Exploring the Cosmic Cliffs in 3D,” breathes new life into an iconic Webb image.
It is being presented today at a special event hosted by the International Planetarium Society to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first public planetarium in Munich, Germany.
The landscape of “mountains” and “valleys” known as the Cosmic Cliffs is actually a portion of the nebula Gum 31, which contains a young star cluster called NGC 3324. Both Gum 31 and NGC 3324 are part of a vast star-forming region known as the Carina Nebula Complex.
Ultraviolet light and stellar winds from the stars of NGC 3324 have carved a cavernous area within Gum 31. A portion of this giant bubble is seen above the Cosmic Cliffs. (The star cluster itself is outside this field of view.)
The Cliffs display a misty appearance, with “steam” that seems to rise from the celestial mountains. In actuality, the wisps are hot, ionized gas and dust streaming away from the nebula under an onslaught of relentless ultraviolet radiation.
Eagle-eyed viewers may also spot particularly bright, yellow streaks and arcs that represent outflows from young, still-forming stars embedded within the Cosmic Cliffs. The latter part of the visualization sequence swoops past a prominent protostellar jet in the upper right of the image. Read More
