Ex-Muslim violently attacked for following Jesus urges Christians to share the Gospel
|

|
Ahmed Joktan was raised in a deeply religious Muslim family in Saudi Arabia, memorized the entire Quran by age 13, and was expected to follow in the footsteps of generations of relatives devoted to Islam. Christianity wasn't something he had considered, and certainly was never a faith he imagined embracing.
But an unexpected encounter with a church in New Zealand changed the trajectory of the Mecca to Christ founder’s life, setting him on a path that would eventually cost him his family, his home, and 13 teeth after he was violently attacked for converting to Christianity.
Today, Joktan is a Christian evangelist who shares his testimony and equips believers to reach Muslims with the Gospel. In an interview with The Christian Post, the author of From Mecca to Christ: A True Story from the Son of the Meccan Mufti reflected on his journey from Islam to Christianity, the persecution he endured, and why he believes Western Christians must overcome their fear of evangelizing Muslims.
"The cost of believing in Jesus is real," Joktan told CP. "I have experienced that myself. I have scars on my face, on my back. I have lost 13 teeth because of that." Yet despite the suffering, Joktan said he's never regretted his decision to follow Christ; and though his name was erased from his family’s lineage, “my name is now in the Book of Life,” he said. "I was so excited to see the light that I did not count the cost," he said.

Armed bystander fatally shoots suspected teen gunman after 3 children, 1 adult killed at Oregon school
|
|
Three children and an adult were killed in a shooting at an Oregon elementary school Thursday, and the suspected gunman is also dead, shot by an armed good Samaritan.
The shooter was a 16-year-old Bend resident armed with a shotgun who was killed by an armed bystander with a concealed carry permit, federal law enforcement sources told Fox News.
The bystander "definitely prevented more deaths," one source said.
The children killed at Silver Rail Elementary School were ages 5, 8 and 11, Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz said during an evening news conference. A 7-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher were taken to St. Charles Bend with critical injuries.
The shooter forced his way into the school by firing at locked doors, Krantz said, citing the initial investigation. A "community member" saw the shooter enter, pursued him into the building and engaged him, according to Krantz.(Fox News) Read more here.

Trump's new press secretary out of the job just days after rocky debut
|

Katie Zacharia is leaving her role as White House press secretary after only seven days following a rocky first week on the job, a source familiar confirmed to Fox News Digital.
President Donald Trump told Zacharia to "reconsider" the role, revealing to members of the press on the South Lawn on Friday that he told her: "You don't have to do this if you don't want to… I think you should reconsider."
A senior White House official tells Fox News that Katie is now "transitioning out" of the role.
It comes as her one-week tenure was marked by mounting scrutiny over her legal credentials and a rocky debut before the White House press corps on Tuesday. Critics have taken aim at Zacharia over her recent interviews attempting to recover from the bumpy start.
Zacharia was named to the role Oct. 9 and stepped behind the White House podium for her first press briefing just days later on Oct. 13. The briefing lasted 14 minutes and Zacharia took only three questions. (Fox News) Read more here.

Controversy over Abdul El-Sayed's family ties to Muslim Brotherhood ignored, downplayed by liberal media
|
|
Several legacy news organizations have not covered allegations involving the family of Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
El-Sayed's denial of having any family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood has drawn questions after several social media posts from his half-sister suggested that members of their family, including their mother, were active in the Islamist group.
ABC and CBS had not mentioned the allegations on their morning or evening news broadcasts as of Thursday, Oct. 15, according to a Fox News Digital review of Grabien transcripts.
The allegations were finally mentioned on CBS’ morning show on Friday, but simply to note that El-Sayed has denied claims by his Republican opponent Mike Rogers.
CNN and MS NOW have similarly not aired dedicated news reports about the allegations as of Thursday, despite several hours of daily programming per transcripts. A conservative panelist made a brief reference to the controversy on Monday's "CNN This Morning," which went without acknowledgment by host Audie Cornish. On Thursday night, CNN's Abby Phillip disputed concerns raised by another conservative guest, arguing that the allegations did not establish a connection between El-Sayed and the Muslim Brotherhood. Big Banks Cut Off Conservatives and Christian Groups, OCC Investigation Finds
|

Many of America’s biggest banks waged a cancel culture war against conservatives and Christian groups over their politics and religious beliefs, a federal investigation revealed this week.
Major U.S. banks denied financial services to conservative businesses, Trump merchandise sellers and Christian organizations, with employees citing customers’ political views, religious beliefs and conflicts with the banks’ own values, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said in a report released Wednesday. In reading this article, we well remember the news that broke about two years ago, when Sam Brownback, the Chairman of the International Religious Freedom Coalition (IRF) was suddenly given notice by the Bank of America that, starting immediately, their bank would no longer honor offerings sent to the IRF. At that time, "BOFA" provided no explanation for their unexpected and immediate action, and funds for the IRF were hence cut off.
At that time, we published this report and asked all of you to lift up prayer that this
action by the Bank of America would be corrected.
Today, we are so grateful that the OCC is now investigating this and other banks where such actions took place, with charges pending. Our God is faithful to bring justice where due; as the work of His intercessors continues. Many thanks to all who prayed at that
time over this critical issue. Amen!

1. Netanyahu: Israel prepared to launch preemptive strike on Iran without US support - Israel Hayom
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Sunday that Israel was prepared to launch a preemptive strike against Iran even without US assistance. Presenting his updated national security doctrine for 2026, the first such presentation in a decade, Netanyahu identified a nuclear-armed Iran as Israel's greatest threat. "We are prepared to take the initiative," he said. "We must prevent the enemy from delivering the first blow." Against the backdrop of warnings of a possible Iranian attack, Netanyahu made clear that his objective was to topple the regime in Tehran, potentially even before Israel's upcoming elections on Oct. 27.
"The objectives I set do not depend on American approval. I always seek it, and we have also reached extraordinary understandings that people never believed were possible. But it has never been a precondition," Netanyahu said. "Our need to eliminate the nuclear threat and the broader threat posed by Iran, by the ayatollahs' regime, stands on its own. To the extent necessary, we will also act independently. We have done so before, and if necessary, we will do so again."
Netanyahu described confronting Iran as his "life's mission," warning that a single nuclear bomb could kill hundreds of thousands of people. He also noted that Iran was developing intercontinental ballistic missiles. 2. IDF cancels leave on Election Day amid fears of Iranian attack

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has ordered a suspension of leave for IDF troops on the day of the Knesset elections, scheduled for October 27, amid concerns over a possible security escalation on one of Israel's fronts.
The unusual decision comes against the backdrop of heightened concern within Israel's defense establishment ahead of the elections that Iran or one of its proxies in the Middle East could attempt to exploit the sensitive period.

3. Netanyahu warns of 'campaign to smear Israel' after European diplomats attacked in West Bank - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the incident in the West Bank, where a group of European diplomatsclaimed to have been attacked by Jewish settler extremists on Saturday, saying that "serious accusations require serious evidence."
"We urge caution before drawing conclusions from today's reports that European diplomats were attacked by masked Israelis in Judea and Samaria. Any violence against diplomats is unacceptable. The more serious the accusation, the greater the demand for compelling evidence," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.
The statement by Netanyahu also claimed that the reports come amid a "coordinated campaign to smear Israel and the Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria during the annual olive harvest, relying on sensational headlines before the full facts emerge."

4. Israeli gov't approves NIS 2.5 billion for defense, slashing ministry budgets ahead of elections - Jerusalem Post
The government approved on Sunday the allocation of NIS 2.5 billion for “urgent defense procurement,” to be funded through across-the-board cuts to government ministries’ budgets, less than two weeks before the October 27 elections.
The funds will be allocated through across-the-board cuts of 4.9% to government ministries’ budgets, rather than coalition funds.
The cuts will affect key ministries such as the education, health, welfare and social affairs ministries, according to the government proposal. (Read more)

5. Bennett, Liberman lay out plans to pass laws against Netanyahu immediately after election - Times of Israel
Two hawkish opposition party leaders on Saturday laid out their plans for the period following the upcoming October 27 Knesset elections, vowing to immediately work to form a government and to quickly pass a series of laws, including term limits for prime minister and a ban on criminal defendants from serving as premier — moves aimed at ending Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political career.
“We will swear in the government at 7 p.m. and immediately hold the first meeting in the Knesset, where we will bring to a vote the establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre,” B’Yachad party leader Naftali Bennett said at a meeting with party activists.
Netanyahu has refused to establish such an inquiry into the failures that led to Hamas’s October 7, 2023, onslaught, arguing that an independent panel appointed by the Supreme Court president would be biased against the government. He has argued instead for a panel appointed by lawmakers, with its mandate and scope set by politicians from the coalition and the opposition, equally. 1. Netanyahu and Trump plan to hold off on Iran strikes ahead of elections in US, Israel – Just the News
As President Donald Trump continues to weigh options regarding the next moves with Iran, elections in the U.S. and Israel loom large.
Last week, the president vowed not to strike Iran before the midterm elections set for Nov. 3.
Exactly one week before the U.S. elections, Israel will also hold an election that could determine the fate of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The prime minister made similar comments to Trump, saying a strike before their elections would not be “convenient,” adding “it’s no good.”
As of last week, the president claimed the U.S. and the Islamic Republic were engaged in “productive discussions,” noting the country’s dire economic situation.
“Iran is in very bad condition, both economically and militarily, and while the blockade will remain in full force and effect, with oil flowing in record numbers of barrels through the Hormuz Strait,” the president wrote on Truth Social. “We will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the midterm elections.”
The president’s comments come as the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen have been accused of multiple attacks against Saudi Arabia. (Read more)

2. Democrat's debate 'cue cards' steal spotlight in high-stakes Senate clash - Fox News
Alaska Democratic Senate hopeful Mary Peltola faced ridicule Thursday night after her use of notecards during a debate with Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan drew mocking responses from GOP critics — including a pointed jab from her incumbent opponent.
Sullivan is in an unusually close race with Peltola, a former congresswoman, that is further complicated by another candidate with his same name but a different middle initial, as Republicans fight to hold their narrow Senate majority.
"Really, Mary? Reading off a script? You can't cue-card your way through the Senate," Sullivan wrote on X after Peltola appeared to have a notecard-sized paper with bullet points that she looked down at for several seconds while responding to earlier questions.
The criticism quickly became a flashpoint in the candidates' debate-night exchanges, with Republican commentators seizing on Peltola's apparent use of prepared notes.
"Mary, blink twice if you are okay. It seems you can't string a sentence together without reading from the talking points your Lower 48 handlers wrote you," NRSC official Joanna Rodriguez posted on X.
Another social media user took aim at Peltola's apparent reliance on notes even while discussing personal details.
"Mary Peltola can't read her name or that she's a grandmother without needing a cue card," the user wrote, adding a laughing emoji. (Read more here)

3. 9th Circuit Court Smacks Down California Law Unmasking ICE Agents For Violence-Hungry Leftists- The Federalist
A federal appellate court shot down a California law on Wednesday that sought to require ICE agents to show identification while conducting immigration operations in the state.
In its unanimous ruling, a three-judge panel for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals held that Section 10 of the state’s No Vigilantes Act violates the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause, which specifies that federal law supersedes state law. The panel was comprised of Judge Jacqueline Nguyen, an Obama appointee, and Judges Mark Bennett and Daniel Collins, both Trump appointees.
According to The Hill, the Justice Department sued the Golden State last year after Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the No Vigilantes Act, “which demands that plainclothes law enforcement officers operating in California ‘shall visibly display identification.'” In conjunction with California’s No Secret Police Act — “which banned federal law enforcement officers from wearing masks while carrying out operations in the state” — “the law took effect on Jan. 1 and required officers to show identification while performing their duties.”
The 9th Circuit previously granted the Trump administration’s emergency request to block the contested statute while the court considered the merits of the issue.
In affirming that blockade, Bennett and his colleagues concluded that the Trump administration is “certain to succeed” on the merits of its supremacy clause argument because Section 10 of the No Vigilantes Act “attempts to directly regulate the United States in its performance of governmental functions, and Congress has not authorized such regulation.” The Supremacy Clause, the Trump appointee noted, explicitly bars states “from directly regulating federal operations even when regulating state operations in the same manner.” (Read more)

4. Hundreds Of Troops Head To Latin America To Deal With Drug Traffickers - Daily Wire
The Pentagon is expanding its counter-drug campaign in Latin America by deploying Army troops whose assignments could include training alongside regional forces and supporting military advisers, The New York Times reported.
U.S. military officials told the newspaper that soldiers assigned to the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York, had begun deploying in Panama for jungle training. The initial arrivals belong to a battalion of about 600 soldiers, with training also planned in Colombia and Honduras.
The U.S. Embassy in Panama challenged reports that 600 troops were deploying to the country. According to regional reporting, the embassy said 120 soldiers from the division were participating in a two-week course and would return to their home units afterward.
The accounts leave unresolved how the current training group relates to the broader deployment described by the Times.
Beyond exercises, the newspaper reported that some soldiers could guard American helicopters or assist U.S. Special Operations personnel if they encounter trouble while advising local militaries. Those partner forces conduct raids against suspected drug traffickers. The report does not establish that the newly deployed soldiers will carry out raids themselves.
The division is also expected to send several hundred soldiers to Miami to staff a command overseeing Western Hemisphere operations, according to the Times.
The expanded military presence follows Washington’s push for regional governments to intensify operations against cartels and cooperate more closely with American forces.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has championed that effort through the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition. At an August gathering in Panama, he described its motto: “We do bad things to bad people.”
The Pentagon has already conducted dozens of strikes over the past year against vessels in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific that it says were transporting drugs. (Read more)

5. Talarico Shows He’s As Ignorant About The Bible And Abortion As He Is About Texas- The Federalist
James Talarico knows his Texas as well as he knows his Bible, which is apparently not at all.
Less than one week after Talarico reappeared following a mysterious absence from the campaign trail and media due to what he claimed was a “nasty flu,” he appeared on a CNN and Jubilee town hall to Lone Star State voters about his faith and politics.
This “Change My Mind” was supposed to be an opportunity for Talarico to soothe his skeptics’ fears about his radicalism, including describing God as “nonbinary” and expressing love of “trans children.” Instead, it further proved that the “Christian who hates Christianity” has no business holding authority in church or state, specifically the U.S. Senate.
The biggest clincher of the night came when Jodi Hunt, a smiling “farmer and professor” from Burleson, Texas, asked Talarico to “convince me as a Catholic voter that I can trust you that you would protect the most innocent among us.” It’s a fair question, considering Talarico’s track record in the Texas House of repeatedly voting against pro-life protections, against resources for women and babies in crisis, and against prohibitions on unpopular taxpayer-funded abortion.
Instead of touting the theological truths that any biblical pastor and Christian cling to about the sanctity of life, however, Talarico opted to finger-wag Hunt about her biblical understanding of abortion.
“We may come to different moral and ethical conclusions when it comes to the question of should abortion be legal or not. It sounds like you and I do come to a different conclusion. That’s okay. We’re both Christians, and the Bible is silent on the issue of abortion. It means you and I both have to look at at different scriptures to try to come to a conclusion,” Talarico claimed. Holy Lord, this man is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Twisting scripture to match the ‘theological’ ignorance pushed by his own church is a way to lead people astray. Grant Your true church wisdom and discernment, and let the voters beware!

6. Two Christian groups were paid $62M to resettle tens of thousands of Somalis in Minnesota- New York Post
Two church non-profits have taken in at least $62 million to build the Somali community in Minnesota — leading to the rise of Ilhan Omar and the fraud scandals that have gripped that state, The Post can reveal.
Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services were at the forefront of reshaping the frigid Land of 10,000 Lakes thanks to generous government contracts stemming back generations.
“This is a very big pile of government money and a whole bunch of different groups have come to get their own slice of it,” Parker Thayer, an immigration expert at the Washington, DC-based Capital Research Center, told The Post.
He added the total money pouring into Minneapolis resettlement programs alone is “in the hundreds of millions.” (Read more)

Biden judge rejects Obama CIA chief's legal bid against Trump over one key problem
|
|
|
|
A Biden-appointed judge dismissed former CIA Director John Brennan's lawsuit against President Donald Trump and senior administration officials, ruling that his concerns about the potential destruction of evidence needed for a future criminal defense were too "speculative."
The dismissal comes as Brennan faces two federal investigations, including a Justice Department probe into whether former intelligence officials conspired to violate Trump's civil rights through investigations into alleged ties between his 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.
A separate investigation is examining whether Brennan made false statements during 2023 congressional testimony about the Steele dossier's role in a 2017 intelligence assessment of Russian interference in the presidential election.

A Washington state school district has agreed to publicly apologize, undergo religious liberty training and pay $275,000 in attorney's fees after a lawsuit challenged policies that required elementary school students to keep Bibles concealed in sealed envelopes, according to a Christian education organization whose CEO says children felt pressured to hide their faith.
Joel Penton, founder and CEO of LifeWise Academy, told Fox News Digital in an interview Thursday that parents described the emotional toll of the Everett School District's restrictions, which also included requiring families to submit permission slips every week for their children to attend voluntary, off-campus Bible instruction.
"I also heard from parents that their children felt like they were being told they had to hide their faith when they were told they had to put their Bibles and things in envelopes as though it was something to be ashamed of, and I know that was very hurtful as well," Penton said. Democratic Socialists Plot to Seize Influence Over House Leadership

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are seeking to expand their influence in Congress, outlining a strategy to pressure Democratic leadership and potentially reshape how the House of Representatives operates. The proposal comes as the organization looks to build on its successes in the 2026 Democratic primaries.
According to The National Pulse, the DSA’s official publication, Democratic Left, recently published a proposal titled “Socialists in Congress Should Hold the Speakership Hostage.” The proposal calls for DSA-aligned lawmakers to use their votes for Speaker of the House as leverage to secure changes to congressional rules.
The strategy would give a relatively small group of socialist lawmakers the ability to challenge Democratic leadership on major legislative and procedural decisions. The DSA specifically wants to make it easier to force votes on legislation and threaten the removal of a Speaker who refuses to cooperate with its demands.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has already distanced himself from the socialist organization’s agenda. Earlier this year, Jeffries publicly rejected several DSA positions, including its proposal to abolish the Senate. Tesla’s new Roadster makes a flying debut, hitting 60 MPH in under a second

The vehicle was seen flying, performing a midair flip and accelerating from zero to 60 mph in under a second.
"Turns out the future does have flying cars," Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said at a SpaceX test site in McGregor, Texas.
Vice President of Vehicle Engineering Lars Moravy added, "Flying cars are real."
The jaw-dropping showcase featured the new Roadster accelerating up a massive curved ramp and using a fan-based suction system to remain attached until it was completely upside down before using integrated cold-gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX to launch off the ramp, flip in midair and land safely back on the ground.
In another demonstration, the Roadster launched over a lineup of cars and a semi-truck, performing a midair flip before landing safely on the other side.
Musk said certain versions of the Roadster can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than one second and reach a top speed of more than 230 mph. During the event, Tesla demonstrated a Roadster accelerating to 60 mph in under a second.
