Jewish community pushes for permanent Oct. 7 memorial in Brooklyn
|
|
|
Three years after the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in Israel, members of Brooklyn's Jewish community are pushing for a permanent memorial honoring those killed and the hostages who never returned home. The effort comes as the community remembers the wound the attacks left on New York City's Jewish diaspora thousands of miles away.
At a gathering at the Shorefront Y, organizers said they wanted to remember the victims while focusing on the stories of heroism. "We don't want it to be very dark. We want to remember what happened and we want to celebrate life," said Annetta Rozenberg, director of social services at the Shorefront Y.
Anna Malkina, a Shorefront Y volunteer, recalled the impact of the attacks on her Russian-speaking Jewish community. In an interview translated from Russian, she said, "May this never happen again." Three years later, Malkina continues to wear a yellow ribbon to remember the hostages who never made it home alive. "In solidarity," she said, "of what they went through."
Ben Kogan, a local small business owner, said the attacks resonated across the Jewish community worldwide. "Jewish people, we are one soul. We're just pieces of one soul. So we all feel each other," Kogan said. Now, elected officials and community leaders are seeking to turn that remembrance into a permanent memorial. At a gathering on Kings Highway and East Fifth Street, supporters called for a new installation at Mickey Kairey Garden. (CBS) Read More Here

Father, we are grateful for the inspiring idea of creating an October 7th Memorial in New York City, to honor Jews, Israel and more importantly, victims/families who experienced great loss on that tragic day. May the entire world never forget! We celebrate Your continual faithfulness and unwavering love, and ask favor for all plans to be successful in the installation inside Mickey Kairey Garden. We declare in Jesus Name, that no obstacles will stand in the way of the memorial construction moving forward! It will forever stand in honor of all who greatly suffered in captivity and for individuals who tragically lost their lives. Abba, bring deep healing as only You can, to every heart, soul and mind affected by October 7th and pour out Your shalom to Jews all around the world! In Yeshua's powerful Name we pray- Amen.
"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)

GOP Faces Tough Midterm Map with 31 Days to Go
|
|
With just 31 days remaining before the 2026 midterm elections, Republicans are confronting difficult polling in several Senate battlegrounds while trying to protect their narrow congressional majorities.
Democrats currently hold an advantage on the generic ballot, according to The Daily Wire, while several Republican Senate candidates are trailing or locked in close contests. Republicans are hoping their significant financial advantage and an upcoming campaign blitz by President Donald Trump can help change the political environment before Election Day.
Republicans hold a 53-47 advantage in the U.S. Senate and are defending vulnerable seats in North Carolina, Maine, Ohio, Texas, Iowa, Alaska, and struggling to gain the edge in seats held by Democrats. In Maine, Republican Sen. Susan Collins, who has long defied the odds and the polling, trails Democrat Troy Jackson by less than a point on average, while a New York Times/Siena poll released last week showed Collins up three points.
Down South, the numbers look more ominous for the GOP. Former Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC) leads Republican nominee Michael Whatley by 8.4 points to replace the retiring Thom Tillis in the RealClearPolitics polling average. Whatley, a former Republican National Committee chairman, has struggled to gain traction against the well-known former governor. It’s a similar story in Georgia, where incumbent Democrat Sen. Jon Ossoff holds an 8-point lead against Trump-endorsed Mike Collins.
“It’s pretty dire circumstances in both those states,” conservative political consultant Ryan Girdusky said in an interview with The Daily Wire, pointing to the Iran conflict and inflation. “And it’s not likely that the Republicans will manage to carry either one of them in November, and that’s bad for the GOP, but that’s just the facts on the ground.” (Daily Wire

Abba, this coming midterm election is very strategic for the plans Your son, Donald, is trying to implement to restore our nation. There is so much information and misinformation in print, podcasts, TV, and the internet, that it creates great confusion. We ask Holy Spirit to pour out discernment into the minds and hearts of Your kids and all who will be voting. We ask for Your perfect will to be done in each election across our nation. Father God, we ask You to protect the actual physical voting, that only those who are eligible will be allowed to vote and that each eligible vote will be counted and no others. We ask this in the name El Shaddai, God Almighty, the God who has ultimate power over all things.
"Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord,
are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you."
(Psalm 89:8)

Texas Becomes Center of Midterms Universe
|
|
Texas has taken center stage ahead of next month’s midterm elections as Democrats grow more optimistic about their chances in the state up and down the ballot.
For months, the state’s highly contested Senate race has dominated midterm elections headlines, but Democrats say they are seeing opportunity in other Texas contests as well. The Democratic Governors Association and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) announced this week they each plan to give $1 million to support Democrat Gina Hinojosa in the state’s gubernatorial race.
Meanwhile, leaked audio of Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton blaming the national GOP as Democrat James Talarico leads in the polls has rocked the Senate race.
Still, President Trump and Vice President Vance have traveled multiple times to the state to bolster Lone Star State Republicans in competitive contests. Trump is set to rally alongside Paxton and Republican House candidate Carlos De La Cruz in San Antonio Wednesday evening.
“Texas is clearly in play,” said Brendan Steinhauser, a Texas-based GOP strategist who ran Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) 2014 reelection bid.
“Republicans understand they have a real threat they need to defend against, and Democrats see a real opportunity where they can go on offense, and potentially win a U.S. Senate seat and maybe even the governor’s race as well,” he added. Read more

Abba, help!! Emotions are running very high as we approach the midterms, everyone feels the stress that comes with the uncertainty of "what will happen if....wins or loses"? Father God, please open our eyes to see and to know that You already know who wins and who loses and how all of it will play out. Remind us that we can trust You completely to do what is best for each individual and our nation. Jesus, use this time of "not knowing" to bring us face to face with our own unbelief, show us exactly how deep our faith is in Your promises! Let this be a time of stretching and growing in faith and trust in You. We ask this in the name Yahweh Jireh, The Lord Will Provide.
"He provided redemption for his people; he ordained
his covenant forever -- holy and awesome is his name." (Psalm 111:9)

Abba, the US needs Your help. You know Your son Donald's plans for bringing Iran's leadership down, You know why he went against his own views on war to stop the Iranians from being able to build atomic weapons. Father God, we ask for Your intervention and help in bringing an end to this conflict. We ask Holy Spirit to increase the effect of all financial restrictions that have been placed on Iran's oil production and sales and any other profit being created in support of the Iranian government. We ask Holy Spirit to dispatch angels to block help from other nations who are committed to helping them, create financial issues that thwart any financial support. We ask this in the name El Gibhor, Mighty God, the God who will destroy all His enemies.

French President Emmanuel Macron also commemorated the attack, noting that 51 French citizens were killed in what he described as “the barbaric terrorist attacks by Hamas.”
France shares “the grief of the State of Israel and the bereaved families,” Macron wrote, reiterating his government's commitment to “combating antisemitism and terrorism, everywhere and always, working for peace and the security of all.”
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz wrote on 𝕏: “We must confront antisemitism with even greater resolve. Jewish women and men should be able to live here without fear.”

Abba, it is still hard to wrap our minds around the inhuman things that were done to Israelis and others on Oct. 7th, by Hamas Jihadists. Father God, we ask for Your heart of love to continue healing minds, hearts and emotions of those who personally faced this horror, those who lost loved ones, those who were abducted and abused emotionally, physically and sexually. Jesus, Your people are under attack from so many directions, send out your angels to protect them all over the world, send warrior angels to fight this battle in the heavenlies to bring victory to those You love. We ask this in the name Yahweh Sabaoth, The Host of Heaven's Armies.
"But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them
ever sing for joy. Spread your protection
over them, that those who love your name may rejoice."

1. Netanyahu’s former military secretary alleges attempt to alter October 7 records
- Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s former military secretary on Thursday alleged that the premier presented an incomplete account of the events surrounding Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack and that Netanyahu’s chief of staff sought to alter an official record from that morning.
Avi Gil, who served as Netanyahu’s military secretary on October 7, told Israel Hayom and Channel 12 that he had remained silent until now in the hope of testifying before a state commission of inquiry — the establishment of which Netanyahu and his allies have resisted.
A longer version of the interview is set to be broadcast on Channel 12 Thursday evening.
“There are too many lies in the air, and the public deserves to know the truth,” Gil said. “Three years have passed since October 7, and two years since I retired from the IDF. I hoped a state commission of inquiry would be established to investigate everything. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened, and I doubt it will.” (Read more)

2. Israel assassinated Iran's navy chief over fears he could lead a more dangerous IRGC - exclusive - Jerusalem Post
One of the key reasons for the assassination of Iran navy chief Alireza Tangsiri by Israel on March 26 was the concern of top Israeli officials that he could emerge as the next head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, The Jerusalem Post has learned.
He would have been a much tougher adversary than Ahmad Vahidi, who eventually became the new IRGC chief.
Many top Israeli officials viewed Tangsiri as a highly creative and resourceful commander, whereas Vahidi was largely seen as a deputy to a deputy of top commanders, lacking the power to shape the broader security posture. (Read more)

4. Anti-draft protests in Jerusalem and Bnei Brak spiral out of control
- Israel National News
Police Commissioner Daniel Levy on Thursday ordered commanders to take decisive action against disturbances during haredi protests over IDF enlistment and the arrest of draft evaders, following riots and road blockages across Israel.
The protests escalated into confrontations in several locations, with demonstrators blocking roads, disrupting traffic and, according to police, damaging vehicles. The main protest sites are the entrance to Jerusalem near the Chords Bridge and Route 4 near Bnei Brak.
“Protesting is a right; violating public order is not," Levy said, instructing officers to prevent road blockages and disruption to daily life. Police said demonstrations that turn into disturbances will be dispersed and that officers will arrest those who violate public order. (Read more)

5. Israel downgrades UK Jerusalem consulate after sanctions on Judea, Samaria
- JNS
The British Consulate in Jerusalem, which Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar last month said would be shuttered, will be renamed the UK Mission, Jerusalem, and operate from the same building with a smaller staff, according to statements published on Thursday by Jerusalem and London.
Twenty diplomats, including the consul general, will end their assignments and leave Israel, Sa’ar said. The consulate’s sign has been removed. Britain retains ownership of the building and may operate a small task force there, Sa’ar said.
“We have allowed the British Government to operate a task force of only seven diplomats from the building, which ceased to function as a consulate today. Their scope of activity will be very limited,” he wrote. (Read more)

1. Debate over Islam Divides a Texas County – The Epoch Times
In Collin County, home to a growing Muslim population, McKinney residents successfully gathered signatures to recall city council members and the mayor who approved a mosque site plan after a tense public meeting in August.
A few miles south, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, protesters gathered outside a Plano mosque, waving American flags and holding signs about Jesus and “Don’t Mecca My Texas,” as Muslims passed by on their way to prayer.
Perhaps nowhere in Texas has the argument over whether Islam is a religion or political ideology been so visible as in Collin County, part of the suburban sprawl north of Dallas. The rapid Muslim growth here has met robust local opposition at a time when some Republicans in Texas and on the national stage have made a campaign issue out of opposing Islam’s political aspects.
Cowboy Country and Islam
Texas—land of cowboys, ranches, and barbecue—was home to 224 mosques in 2020, the third-largest number in the nation behind New York and California. Some estimates now put that Texas number closer to 300.
Collin County has seen a sharp rise in Muslim adherents, up from around 6,000 in 2000 to more than 37,000 in 2020, according to one religious survey.
But as more Muslims settle in the red state of Texas, strife over Islam as a political movement has grown and is increasingly reflected in election campaigns. Critics call it Islamophobia; others call the concerns justifiable. Read more

Father God, we say NO to the infiltration of Islam into the political and governmental life of this nation! We say NO to creeping Shariah law and the trojan horse of radical Islamists running for political office and becoming part of voice, the influence and the wielding of power in this nation! We want to hear freedom bells and church bells ring, not the Mosque call to prayers! Our nation was founded and framed based on Judeo-Christian values! We pray that in McKinney that the recall of the mayor would be successful and the mosque site plan would be overturned!

2. Trump Says Sending $5,000 Payments Will ‘Work Out Very Easily’ – The Epoch Times
The president has frequently brought up the possible payments ahead of the midterm elections.
President Donald Trump said on Oct. 6 that he could “very easily” send out $5,000 dividend payments if Republicans are able to keep both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the forthcoming midterm elections.
Trump made the proposal to send the payments during a Republican rally in Dallas last month. His administration has also sent out payments to people receiving Medicare and to consumers who he said were overcharged in Affordable Care Act health insurance exchanges.
When asked on Oct. 6 by a reporter at the White House about the dividend proposal, the president said, “It'll work out very easily.” Read more

Father God, we pray that this would be one more incentive for people to get out and VOTE and that they would VOTE BIBLICAL VALUES, and pray for conservative candidates. 3. Rubio at Birthplace of Western Civilization: West Must Rediscover Greatness or Face ‘Servitude and Decline’ – Breitbart
Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned from the birthplace of Western civilization Wednesday that the West must rediscover the qualities that made it great or resign itself to “atrophy and servitude and decline,” declaring that the choices made over the next decade could determine its course for the next century.
Speaking beneath the Acropolis, Rubio traced the West’s inheritance from ancient Greece through Rome and Christendom to the American founding before turning to what he described as its modern retreat: nations ashamed of their achievements, nationalism made a “dirty word,” open borders, outsourced industry, weakened militaries, and sovereignty increasingly surrendered to global bureaucracies.
At the center of Rubio’s argument was the ancient Greek concept of thumos — the spirit of ambition, courage, and pride that he said allowed civilizations not merely to survive, but to strive. Read more

Holy Father,
We pray alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio that we as a nation must rediscover the qualities that made it great! Lord, we pray that America would not fall into the trap of the wicked that would cause us to retreat into servitude and decline. We decree that America is wiser than that and will reject any agendas that would not make America great again.
Lord, revive in us the spirits of ambition, courage and pride and set our feet on higher ground! Father, we thank You for our achievements and we pray against open borders, outsourced industries, weakened militaries, and our own sovereignty surrendered to global bureaucracies.
We decree that America is strong in the Lord and the power of His might! In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen and Amen.

4. 70 Million American Children Now Enrolled in Trump Accounts: White House – The Epoch Times
‘This money is your child’s future,’ President Donald Trump said at an event.
President Donald Trump lauded the Treasury Department’s automatic enrollment for Trump Accounts at an Oval Office event on Oct. 7.
Trump highlighted that approximately 70 million U.S. children have now been enrolled in these tax-advantaged investment accounts.
“If all goes well, which I think it will, they’ll end up being quite rich by the time they’re 18, and then 21, and as time goes by,” Trump told reporters. “This money is your child’s future. And when you were a child in the old days, your child would hit 18 and there’s nothing.”
Estimates vary, but the Milken Institute projected in a March 2025 paper that $1,000 accounts could grow, on average, to $8,000 after 20 years. After 40 years, they could reach $69,000. Read more

Lord God,
Thank you for President Trump and his wisdom in opening the Trump Accounts by which our children's parents can grow their savings and invest in our their future. We praise You, Lord God, that there are approximately 70 million children that are now enrolled in these tax-advantaged savings accounts.
Father, we pray for the future of our children that You have entrusted to us and we ask for many ways for them to succeed so that America will thrive under their guidance as we raise them in the way that they should go. Lord, pour out Your blessings upon each one and grant them the wisdom to know the truth from lies.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen and Amen.

6. Pentagon Prepares 'Options' For Trump To Strike Iran Before Midterms; Tanker Attacked Off Qatar - ZeroHedge
The Atlantic is reporting Wednesday afternoon that the Pentagon is preparing strike options for the Commander-in-Chief to consider, and that Trump may actually pull the trigger before the midterm elections - though the report emphasizes that the decision is still being debated:
After months of on-again, off-again fighting, the United States hasn’t struck Iran in several weeks. The stretch of relative tranquility is coinciding with the final phase of the midterm-election campaign, and the assumption has been that President Trump will want to keep it going through November 3 so as not to remind voters of an unpopular war that is dragging Republican candidates down nationwide.
But that may not be what happens. The White House has asked the Pentagon to develop strike options against Iranian targets that could be exercised ahead of the midterms, according to two administration officials. The planning underscores just how much the president wants to reduce gas prices and demonstrate progress in the conflict before the vote, administration officials told us.
And yet a renewed outbreak of direct bombing would likely actually serve to do the opposite, given that oil prices have tended to shoot up on headlines of major direct escalation. Reports out of Iran confirmed earlier Wednesday that negotiations are 'stalemated' - also as the Iranians have ramped up targeting tankers with drones in the Strait of Hormuz over the last week. COVID Stats Are Bad Enough Without Exaggeration
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, October 8, 2026
Stories are again circulating that Pfizer’s COVID vaccine has been “proven” to increase breast cancer 487%, neurological disorders 1,048%, pulmonary embolisms 468% and other serious conditions. Those numbers are real in the sense that they were reported from Defense Medical Epidemiology Database queries presented by attorney Thomas Renz and investigated by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wi). However, they are not accurate. DoD says a 2021 server migration corrupted its 2016–2020 baseline, displaying only about 10% of historical outpatient encounters. That made 2021 appear astronomically higher. After DoD recalculated the data, the 487% breast-cancer increase became 1.1%. But that’s not the end of the story. It is worse.
There is good reason to examine what happened next. In 2023, a DoD whistleblower provided Johnson with new DMED queries conducted after the database had supposedly been fixed. Those results differed from DoD’s corrected figures. Breast cancer was 14.7% above the 2016–2020 average rather than 1.1%, pulmonary embolism 41.2% rather than 25.4%, ovarian dysfunction 38.2% rather than 23.9%, and esophageal cancer 56.6% rather than 27.8%. DoD later acknowledged that information supplied to Johnson in 2022 had been incomplete. Due to lack of scientific information and, quite frankly, plausible deniability, this does not prove vaccination caused those increases. Also DMED counted medical encounters rather than verified new cases. So this is how we can’t tell the real story behind cause and effect of mandated vaccination. Read More

Judge Slams Mamdani's 'Arbitrary' and 'Capricious' Tax, Hands New Yorkers Major Legal Victory
|
|
|
|
The implementation of New York City Democratic Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new pied-a-terre tax was ruled “arbitrary” and “capricious,” marking a major setback for the socialist official and his efforts to tax wealthy citizens.
Mamdani proposed the tax for homes worth at least $5 million, as well as co-ops and condos worth at least $1 million, if they are unoccupied non-primary residences.
Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Wayne Ozzi ruled that the city inappropriately mailed notices to over 1,000 New Yorkers who were not actually subject to the tax, according to a report from the New York Post. The homeowners were then “substantially harmed and penalized needlessly” when they had to show city officials they were not liable to pay the tax. Ozzi concluded that all of the 17,000 notices sent to residents need to be cancelled, and that they must be resent individually.
Matt Rauschenbach, a spokesman for Mamdani, denounced the ruling in a statement.
“Today’s decision is wrong, and we will invoke a stay of the injunction,” he said, according to a report from the Associated Press. “With a stay, we will continue implementing the surcharge fairly, efficiently and in full compliance with the law, as we have since day one.”
Randy Mastro, who filed a lawsuit against the policy on behalf of residents, meanwhile celebrated the ruling. “We’re gratified that the court has recognized we were right all along,” he reacted. “The fact is that this administration failed to follow state law when it burdened New York City homeowners with proving they live in their own homes or be on the hook for paying a new surcharge,” Mastro continued. ow the administration must go back and do what it should have done from the start: use all the information at its disposal to make an individualized ‘initial determination’ about who truly owes this surcharge before demanding that they pay it.” (Western Journal) Read more here.

|
Father God, we are deeply grateful that Judge Ozzi has ruled in favor of the residents of New York City against this unlawful and undue burden of taxation against them. We ask that Your hand of protection would rest upon this judge, and that any further actions, submitted by Mayor Madami, would be rejected out of hand. Thank You, O Lord, in Jesus' name, amen and amen!
"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)

Federal Judge Sarah Hill ruled that a Tulsa County sheriff’s deputy’s use of Flock automated license plate reader data (ALPR) led to a search that violated the Fourth Amendment. The judge ordered evidence to be suppressed that was found in the search after the deputy accessed a month’s worth of Flock data during a traffic stop.
Judge Hill determined that the initial stop was reasonable, but that the ALPR search was unconstitutional. She said that technology is “approaching the dragnet type law enforcement practice“ the Supreme Court cautioned against in a 1983 decision.
“This is a type of indiscriminate mass surveillance,” Judge Hill wrote. “It is a tool that collects information about all vehicles that pass by any network-connected camera at all times, and it serves up the information to law enforcement on demand.”
“No doubt, ALPR technology comes with remarkable benefits that the Court cannot ignore,” Judge Hill stated. “But the Fourth Amendment requires courts to draw a line when the cost is too great.”
Last month, Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri sent a letter to Flock that requested information and documentation about police departments misusing the ALPR technology. He also inquired about data retention policies, surveillance capabilities, and safeguards. (Presidential Prayer Team) Read more here.

Lord God, we pray that those who review this ruling will be granted wisdom from Your throne. While we understand that law enforcement needs tools to capture law breakers, we also do not want what the judge described as “indiscriminate mass surveillance.” Our Constitution promises privacy and security. We also pray that any authorities who willfully access these cameras illegally be held accountable. Let only Your perfect love for us prevail over this issue.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Ephesians 5:15-17)
