Israel’s oldest Holocaust survivor dies at 107
|
|
|
Israel’s oldest Holocaust survivor, Yehuda Aharon Widawski, died at the age of 107 on the eve of Rosh Hashanah on Sept. 11. Israeli President Isaac Herzog eulogized him in a Hebrew-language post, saying that he was saddened to hear of Widawski’s passing. “When he was 104 years old, I had the privilege of hosting Yehuda at the President’s Residence together with his magnificent family,” the president said. “Yehuda once said that his revenge against the Nazis was that they lost—and that we have the State of Israel. Indeed, his life was a magnificent testament to the victory of life, memory, and revival,” Herzog added.
Widawski was born in 1919 in Turek, Poland, the second of four children in a traditional Zionist family, according to Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem. He subsequently moved with his family to Lodz. The German occupiers created the Lodz Ghetto in 1940. The Widawskis were deported to Auschwitz in August 1944. Yehuda’s parents, Abraham and Leah, and his eldest brother, Gabriel, were immediately murdered.
Eight days later, Yehuda and his younger brother, Jehoszua, were transferred to the Friedland work camp, a sub-camp of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp system. The camp was liberated by the Red Army on May 9, 1945, a day after the Germans abandoned the site while locking in the inmates. Widawski, his brother, and an uncle were the only members of the family to survive. Widawski married Lea Dobrysz and the couple had a son. During his time in Poland, after establishing a textile factory, Widawski helped the Zionist paramilitary organization Irgun in smuggling weapons to Israel. (World Israel News) Read More Here |

Rep. Flood to Newsmax:
GOP Must Tout Its Record

Republicans need to do a better job highlighting their accomplishments as they fight to retain control of the House in November, Rep. Mike Flood told Newsmax on Sunday.
Flood pointed to tax provisions involving tips, Social Security, and overtime, as well as an increase in the child tax credit, as policies Republicans should emphasize to voters.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has added Nebraska's 1st Congressional District, which Flood has represented since 2022, to its "Districts in Play" program as Democrats seek to expand the House battlefield ahead of the midterms.
"Obviously, prices are too high. They are trying to leverage that," Flood said. "But they have no plan. They have no plan on Iran. They have no plan on lowering costs. They have no plan on reducing the deficit."
But he pointed to improving commodity prices as an encouraging sign for farmers. "I can tell you this morning I checked our soybean prices are up 24% since Jan. 1," Flood said. "Corn prices are edging higher." (Read more)

Mitch McConnell Returns To Senate After Months Of Missed Votes

Republican Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell returned to Capitol Hill Monday after a three-month absence.
McConnell said he would cast his first vote on the Senate floor since his fall on June 14, which left him hospitalized and in physical therapy for months. The senator’s office remained silent on his whereabouts and condition throughout his absence.
“Today, I’ll cast my first Senate vote since I took a bad fall back in June. I’m really looking forward to being back on the Senate floor and seeing my colleagues. My recovery has been a long and often frustrating process, and the lingering effects of childhood polio haven’t made it any easier,” McConnell said in a statement. “I’m still not quite back to 100%, but I’ve assured Leader Thune that, as I continue with physical therapy on the advice of my doctors, I will do my best to be present for tough votes when our Conference needs me.” (Daily Caller) Read more here.

Former CIA Director John Brennan Subpoenaed Over Russiagate Conspiracy Against Trump

Former CIA Director John Brennan must testify under oath about his role in a grand conspiracy to frame President Donald Trump as a Russian puppet, according to a new legal filing.
Brennan will be compelled by a subpoena to testify on Oct. 15, 2026, before a federal grand jury sitting in Fort Pierce in Southern Florida, the legal filing shows..
The filing reveals the Justice Department (DOJ) is pursuing two probes, including a far-reaching conspiracy investigation to include “issues at Mar-a-Lago and beyond,” an apparent reference to the 2022 FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago over classified records, and another narrower one related to Brennan’s sworn statements before Congress.
Brennan’s attorney Ken Wainstein revealed the subpoena in a filing in Brennan’s case against the Department of Justice. Brennan has accused Trump’s Justice Department of violating his constitutional rights in pursuit of “phantom criminal conduct.” (Daily Caller) Read more here.

China Satellite Images Aided Iranian Strikes that Killed 3 US Troops in Jordan

We now know that Communist China’s fingerprints are on a deadly Iranian attack on American troops.
US officials have linked satellite imagery supplied to Iran by Chinese entities to the Iranian missile strike that killed three American soldiers at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in northeastern Jordan, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal on Saturday.
Citing unnamed U.S. officials familiar with the matter, it states that before Iran’s July 17, 2026 ballistic-missile attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in northeastern Jordan, Tehran obtained high-resolution satellite images of the base from Chinese entities. The U.S. has connected that imagery to the strike. Iran also acquired images after the attack.
The July 17th strike hit the sleeping quarters at the base, killing three soldiers and wounding four others. It was one of three missile attacks on the installation within 24 hours. (The Gateway Pundit) Read more here.

Holy One, we pray first and foremost for the families of the soldiers lost and the healing of those wounded in this wicked attack, in Jesus' name. We thank You that our military has sufficient abilities to be able to identify the national origin of the satellite imagery that resulted in this attack. We pray for divine skills to interfere with and disrupt the satellites in the heavenlies, so there would be no further attacks, in Jesus' name. We pray for the heightening of tensions with China to simmer down and that there would be a cooling off of actions and rhetoric, for the glory of God.

Almighty God, Father, we have just discovered this islamic convention that took place two weeks ago in Minnesota. Clearly it began the year following the 9/11 islamic attack on our nation. We pray forgiveness for our complacency in allowing this ideology to take such root here. Holy One, we ask You to recall the Black Robe Regiment of Believers who will speak out for Godliness and holiness across the land and in our state and federal governments, in Jesus' name. We pray for salvation and revival to overwhelm the muslim communities and turn them from darkness to the glorious light of Christ.

1. Israel eliminates Hamas operations chief in Gaza strike - World Israel News
The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated one of Hamas’s most senior military commanders in an airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening, Israeli security forces confirmed.
Nael Abu Obeid served simultaneously as commander of Hamas’s Rafah Brigade and head of operations in the terror group’s military wing, the IDF and Shin Bet said.
Abu Obeid was appointed Rafah Brigade commander following the elimination of his predecessor, Muhammad Shabana. He previously served as the brigade’s deputy commander and commanded both its Tel al-Sultan and Yabna battalions. (Read more)

Victims of Hamas’s October 7, 2023, onslaught and relatives of those murdered or taken hostage unveiled a 12-page dossier on Tuesday that they say documents the policies and decisions that allowed the terror group to grow stronger during the 15 years preceding the massacre.
Benjamin Netanyahu served as prime minister for nearly all of that period, and speakers at a press conference presenting the document accused him and his successive governments of creating the conditions that enabled the attack while refusing to accept responsibility afterward.

“I would rather give my vote to the right than go to the left. I’m afraid that a Palestinian government will be established here for a second time. Why did Eisenkot abandon the War Cabinet at the most critical moment for the State of Israel? They simply got up and left while I was still in Gaza," Braslavski told Netanyahu.
He added: “Look, even though there are many differences between us, I want to thank you for making the efforts, and the fact is that you brought me and everyone else back. Israel and Saudi Arabia held talks mediated by US Central Command aimed at helping Riyadh defend itself against the aHouthi military through intelligence assistance, a regional diplomat confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.
This follows earlier reporting by the Post'ssister outlet, Walla, which cited diplomatic sources in the Middle East.
"There were good discussions," a source familiar with the discussions told the Post.
Notably, the discussions follow a meeting between US CENTCOM Chief Adm. Brad Cooper, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, as well as other Saudi officials. (Read more)

5. Israeli SPICE 1000 weapon used in Iran set for F-35 integration - Israel Hayom
Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is integrating its SPICE 1000 precision-guided weapon system on the F-35 fighter jet for the first time, in cooperation with Lockheed Martin.
The project is being carried out at Lockheed Martin facilities in the US and is expected to be completed within the next few months. Once the integration is complete, the Israeli Air Force will also be able to employ the weapon from its F-35 aircraft.
The integration could pave the way for other countries operating F-35s to acquire the Israeli-made weapon, which has already been sold to several countries and is in operational service with a number of air forces worldwide. (Read more)

Taraneh and Romina Rahimi were 19, still in high school and living with their mother when masked men came for them in the middle of the night.
According to their U.S.-based cousin, the twin sisters were dragged from their beds with bags placed over their heads about a month after they joined anti-regime protests in Isfahan. Their family was given no explanation and spent months searching courts, hospitals and government offices trying to determine where they had been taken.
Four months later, their mother, Marzieh Nourmohammadi, was finally allowed to see them at Dowlatabad Prison. She barely recognized her daughters.
Their cousin, Masoud Nourmohammadi, told The Guardian that the twins had badly swollen and bruised faces, injuries to their elbows, hands and feet, and significant hair loss that he said resulted from guards pulling them by their hair as they were moved between cells. 2. U.S. Air Force officer shot down in Iran says he prayed while "free-falling" to the ground behind enemy lines - CBS News
The Air Force colonel needed help when he crashed over a mountainous part of Iran's desert, separated from his crewmate, the pilot of the F-15E, after being shot down by Iran in April.
The U.S. aviator free-fell to the ground at an estimated 70-100 mph; the Iranian shoulder-fired missile had damaged his parachute. He was the backseater, the weapons-systems officer on a two-man crew with the mission call sign Dude 44. The pilot was Alpha; he was Bravo.
"At one point when I looked up and saw no parachute, that was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen," Bravo said in his first public account of what happened. "So I paused, right then, and I prayed, 'Lord, your will be done. But if I'm getting through this, I need help.'" (Read more)

3. 'Totally disqualifying': Watch brother of captain of hijacked 9/11 plane release 'powerful' new ad in U.S. Senate race - WND
On Sept. 11, 2001, Capt. John Ogonowski was the pilot of the first plane hijacked by Islamic terrorists that struck the World Trade Center in New York City.
Now, his brother Jim is pleading with citizens of Michigan in a brand-new ad not to elect Democrat Abdul El-Sayed as U.S. senator in November.
"My brother John was the captain of American Airlines Flight 11, the first plane to hit the towers on Sept. 11," Jim Ogonowski says at the start of the ad, which shows the Boeing 767 slamming into the North Tower of the Twin Towers.

4. DOJ Probing Election Practices in Multiple States- Newsmax
The Justice Department is investigating election practices in multiple states less than two months before the midterms, Attorney General Todd Blanche told CBS News.
Blanche disclosed the investigations while defending the Trump administration's push to tighten mail-voting rules, which the Supreme Court on Monday declined to allow to take effect for the November midterm elections.
Asked what evidence showed the rules would prevent fraud, Blanche said there was "a lot of evidence" and argued that voting by mail inherently presented more opportunity for fraud than voting in person with identification.
Blanche then said the federal government was examining election practices in "multiple states," adding that the effort extended beyond the Justice Department. (Read more)

Thank You Abba that there is some effort being made to protect the legitimacy of the coming elections. We know that fraud runs rampant with mail-in ballots and likewise with programmable machines controlled by out-of-state or out-of-country actors, but we must start somewhere and we commit it to You. We pray that the elections will be secured by Your Holy Angels standing watch over this time and season and may we see victory in the camp of those who fear and honor the Lord God Almighty.

5. Comer demands release of Ilhan Omar immigration evidence so Congress can weigh expulsion - JusttheNews
The chairman of the House Oversight Committee is vowing to pursue a contempt vote against financier Leon Black for refusing testimony in the Jeffrey Epstein probe and calling on the Trump administration to release any evidence showing whether Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar broke immigration laws and should be expelled from Congress.
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., made the comments Monday night after Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and White House border czar Tom Homan indicated such evidence involving Omar exists and is under investigation.
“I think they should make it public. Absolutely, make it public,” Comer said during an interview on the Just the News, No Noise television show. “The evidence that I've seen would show that they would be privy to a lot more evidence than I would have. Most of the evidence I have is public already, anyway. So I think it should be made public, and I think the members of Congress should be the judge and the jury in this.
“Let us vote as to whether or not she needs to remain in Congress. If you violated the laws to become a citizen, should that make you ineligible to be a member of Congress? I think so. But put it up for a vote in Congress and let the American people see how their member of Congress would vote on that.” (Read more)

Holy One, we agree that Ilhan Omar should be investigated and removed from Congress for crimes she may have committed. However, perhaps that should have been assessed many years ago when it first came to light. Presently we are thankful to know that there is a criminal investigation now going on and we pray for it to not be disrupted for power or party politics, in Jesus' name. We bless James Comer and pray for him to continue to bring forward evidence of wrong-doing in the many cases before his Committee. We also pray that there may be consequences actually meted out from all of the testimony and evidence of law-breaking that has been evaluated by the Congressional committees, in Jesus' name.

6. Feds Arrest Would-Be ISIS Mass Shooter in Butler County, Pa.- PJ Media
According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Kramer is now charged with intent to use a firearm to commit a felony or the crime of terrorism, which includes providing, attempting to provide, and conspiring to provide material in support of a terrorist organization, among other charges.
FBI Director Kash Patel added, “The subject in this case was allegedly plotting a violent attack in support of ISIS — engaging with ISIS propaganda online, building attack concepts, and repeatedly expressing extremist rhetoric — all while acquiring weapons believed to be in preparation of the attack.”
An affidavit that was filed with the criminal complaint revealed that Kramer has been on the FBI’s radar since 2023, when, as a minor, he was charged and “adjudicated delinquent by Pennsylvania state authorities for his role in a plot to commit a mass casualty incident and for possessing child sexual abuse material.”
According to the DOJ, on March 19 of this year, after his release from a juvenile detention facility, the FBI received an anonymous tip that Kramer’s behavior was “troubling.” The tipster said that Kramer was ordering “mysterious” packages and "talking to his friends from before” he had been incarcerated. Thank You Jesus that someone called in this character and that the FBI and DOJ took it seriously and investigated this threat, so that no crime took place. We pray for him to be fully prosecuted and that he would have the opportunity to meet Jesus in prison. Thank You Father for continuing to expose the people who are motivated to harm others, especially because of an alliance with a foreign country and belief system. We pray for every one to be exposed and stopped, in Jesus's name.
"Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth, The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles."

Sane vs Insane

Republicans held their first-ever midterm convention September 9-10 in Dallas. Media coverage was relatively slim, but what happened there revealed a tremendous amount of information the voting public needs to hear. From my perspective, the speakers did an extraordinary job drawing the contrast between sane and insane, and moreover, for the Judeo-Christian, raising the question of what is godly and ungodly. The convention repeatedly called it a choice between common sense and extremism. That theme was unmistakable. Border security, crime, women’s sports, socialism, government power, election integrity, religious faith and political violence were presented as more than campaign talking points.
Together they formed a question every voter eventually must answer: What kind of country are we choosing? The AI Cold War Is Already Here

China’s reaction to a recent warning from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei revealed how quickly the debate over artificial intelligence has become a struggle for global power.
Amodei urged democratic nations to slow the development of the most dangerous frontier systems while preventing China from closing the technological gap. Beijing’s state-backed Global Times responded by accusing him of disguising an American containment strategy as concern for public safety. It called his proposals a “Cold War playbook” intended to preserve U.S. dominance and restrict China’s technological rise.
The accusation may have been intended as a rebuke, but it also described the world more accurately than Beijing probably intended.
The AI Cold War is already here.
The Logic Of The Arms Race
During the original Cold War, the United States could not simply abandon nuclear development and trust the Soviet Union to exercise similar restraint. If one nation gained an overwhelming technological advantage, it could threaten, intimidate or possibly defeat the other.
Artificial intelligence is creating the same dilemma on a far broader scale. The nation that achieves a commanding AI advantage may gain more than a superior weapon. It could acquire the ability to penetrate enemy networks, accelerate weapons research, control autonomous military systems, manipulate foreign populations and outperform competing economies.
President Donald Trump summarized the stakes bluntly: “Whoever wins AI wins.”
America’s political leaders can debate how quickly AI should advance and what guardrails are necessary. What they cannot do is assume that China, Russia, North Korea, Iran or any other adversary will stop developing it simply because Washington decides the technology has become too dangerous.
