High school student wins fight to display Bible verses in parking spot after school faces legal pressure
A New York high school backed down after facing a legal threat and will now allow a Christian student to decorate her paid parking spot with Bible verses. Grand Island High, near Buffalo, has a tradition of allowing seniors to pay $50 to decorate their parking spaces with "positive artwork" meant to beautify the campus and promote school spirit, according to legal group First Liberty.  Rising senior Sabrina Steffans submitted two designs featuring crosses and verses from John 14:6 and Jeremiah 29:11. Both were rejected by school officials, who only approved a third non-religious version. "I put in three drawings that I did, and the first drawing was a drawing of this mountain called Salvation Mountain," Steffans told CBN. "And when I handed it in, they said… completely no to it because it had crosses, a Bible verse, and just a lot of religion that they said that wasn’t allowed.  They finally agreed to… the last one, which had no Bible verses, no crosses, or anything," the student added.

After the school rejected her initial designs, Steffans sought legal help from religious liberty firm First Liberty. The group said it sent a demand letter arguing that the student had a constitutional right to religious expression. Days later, First Liberty announced the district had changed course and would allow Steffans' original design. "We are pleased the school district changed course and will allow Sabrina to truly express her deeply held beliefs in her design," Keisha Russell, senior counsel at First Liberty, said in a press release Wednesday. "The First Amendment protects students’ private expressions of faith in public schools." Grand Island Central School District Superintendent Brian Graham said the district was committed to fostering an inclusive environment that respects students and disputed that it violated students’ rights. After consulting legal counsel, he said the school agreed to permit Steffans’ design. (Fox News) Read More Here
- Father, we celebrate VICTORY with 'First Liberty' legal group representing student's religious rights. We are grateful for Grand Island High School permitting a senior student to decorate a parking spot with her personal expression of faith. We thank You for boldness, displayed by this young student and her Christian family, standing firm while fighting for their First Amendment rights. May this circumstance encourage other students across our nation to be bold in their faith for the cause of Christ. In Jesus' Name, we declare a mighty impact upon the minds and hearts of many students who will read powerful scripture displayed for all to see! In Jesus' Name, we pray- Amen.

- 'So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."  (Isaiah 55:11)

Trump Trolls Leftists Questioning Whereabouts, Spreading Rumors of His Death: ‘Never Felt Better’
President Donald Trump trolled leftists who questioned where he was and spread baseless rumors on social media of his death over the weekend, informing them that he has “never felt better.” “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“Donald Trump hasn’t been seen publicly in 3 days,” Harry Sisson, a Gen Z Democrat influencer, wrote in a post. “The White House press pool didn’t see him once today. He has no public events scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. Where is Donald Trump???”

“Has Trump been seen on camera since Tuesday?” another person asked.

Reagan Reese, the White House correspondent for the Daily Caller, responded to the claims that Trump was “sick or dead” because he allegedly had not “been seen in a few days,” adding that she had been with him on Friday afternoon. “I wake up to see people freaking out that Trump’s sick or dead or something because he hasn’t been seen in a few days,” Reese wrote. “I was with the president yesterday afternoon. I interviewed him for an hour.”

The New York Post reported that Trump was seen “leaving the White House” on Sunday morning and arriving at Trump National Golf Club Washington, DC, located in Sterling, Virginia. (Breitbart) Read more here.
- Lord God, we cancel these words and these lies with the blood of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against President Trump or our nation will prosper, in Jesus' name. We thank you, Lord, for your protection and for your angels that surround our president everywhere he goes, protecting him and leading him and all of his ways. Amen.

‘No Exceptions’: President Trump to Sign Executive Order Requiring Voter I.D. in Elections

President Donald Trump said Saturday he will take decisive action when it comes to voter I.D. and elections across America.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!! Also, No Mail-In Voting, Except For Those That Are Very Ill, And The Far Away Military. USE PAPER BALLOTS ONLY!!! President DJT.”

Election integrity has long been an issue on the president’s mind. In December 2022, he told Breitbart News that Republicans must fight Democrats on mail voting and ballot harvesting like the Democrats do. At the time, he recognized that Republicans were forced to live with the system until they could get back into power and make changes.

The outlet continued:

“The system, it’s not a question of being broken — the system is corrupt,” Trump told Breitbart News. “It’s a corrupt system. A mail-in ballot will always be corrupt. When you go to a polling location and they want your identification and everything, the way — you can’t really vote unless it’s a legit deal. If you have mail-in ballots, nobody has any idea where it’s coming from or where it’s going to and then it travels through so many hands. Jimmy Carter came out a long time ago with a number of highly respected people and they wrote something, and the one thing that come out loud and clear is that mail-in ballots are corrupt. France had it, a lot of countries had it and they went away from it now.”

“But the Democrats should want to fix it too because it’s a corrupt election,” Trump said. “Our elections are totally corrupt. The Democrats should want to fix that. They don’t because it is to their benefit the way it is now. But the Republicans have no choice but to fix it. It’s going to be very hard but the Republicans have to fix it.”

Fox News reported Sunday that Trump recently tried to impose voter I.D. through a wider executive order, but Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia struck down sections of it relating to the issue.

In her order, the judge wrote, “Consistent with that allocation of power, Congress is currently debating legislation that would affect many of the changes the President purports to order. No statutory delegation of authority to the Executive Branch permits the President to short-circuit Congress’s deliberative process by executive order.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

- We thank you, Lord, for this huge win and righteous decision by our president! We pray that this law would be enforced so that we can keep the integrity of our electoral process. Let integrity and uprightness guide those who are overseeing our elections, that they would obey the laws. Let any unfaithful officials be exposed for their duplicity, and deposed from their office. We pray that You will be glorified by a true outcome at every polling place. In Your Name, Abba, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

- “The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.” (Proverbs 11:3)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. At stormy cabinet meet, Netanyahu refuses IDF chief’s push for vote on hostage deal - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly refused to hold a vote on a proposed hostage-ceasefire deal at a stormy cabinet meeting that went on until the early hours of Monday morning, saying it was not on the table and that US President Donald Trump had pushed him not to accept a partial deal.

The premier’s dismissal of the topic came despite far-right ministers pressing him to hold a vote to officially reject the deal, while the chief of staff and some cabinet ministers pushed for it to be accepted, according to multiple leaks from the closed-door meeting that were published on Monday.

The security cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv, which lasted almost six hours, focused almost entirely on the Israel Defense Forces’ plans to take over Gaza City, according to reports in Hebrew media. (Read more)

2. IDF chief Zamir warns Gaza plan could push Israel into military rule
- Jerusalem Post

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir addressed the government's plan and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s opposition to a partial Gaza hostage deal during a cabinet meeting and stated, "You are heading toward military rule. Understand the implications."

Yossi Fuchs, the Cabinet Secretary, responded: "That's not true."

"Instead of military rule, we can encourage voluntary emigration," National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said.

After Zamr reiterated his warning, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich told him: "We have made a decision." (Read more)

3. Netanyahu set to advance partial sovereignty plan in Jordan Valley - Israel Hayom

Ministers in the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet will receive a briefing Sunday evening on upcoming war plans in Gaza. The meeting is not expected to address a deal for the release of the hostages, as no progress has been made on that front. However, the ministers will be asked to share their views on possible response measures against the Palestinian Authority, chief among them the application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

Ahead of the meeting, Israel Hayom has learned that contrary to the hopes of several government ministers, the plan being advanced by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer in discussions with senior US officials envisions only partial sovereignty, limited to the Jordan Valley.

This plan is based on a broad consensus within Israel and, according to Dermer's expectations, bipartisan support in the US. It contrasts with the more sweeping approach of applying full sovereignty over most of Judea and Samaria. (Read more)

4. Israel Mulls West Bank Annexation in Response to Moves to Recognize Palestine
- Algemeiner

Israel is considering annexation in the West Bank as a possible response to France and other countries recognizing a Palestinian state, according to three Israeli officials and the idea will be discussed further on Sunday, another official said.

Extension of Israeli sovereignty to the West Bank – de facto annexation of land captured in the 1967 Middle East war – was on the agenda for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet meeting late on Sunday that is expected to focus on the Gaza war, a member of the small circle of ministers said.

It is unclear where precisely any such measure would be applied and when, whether only in Israeli settlements or some of them, or in specific areas of the West Bank like the Jordan Valley and whether any concrete steps, which would likely entail a lengthy legislative process, would follow discussions. 5. Global media blackout targets Israel as foreign ministry condemns ‘political manifesto’ - World Israel News

A coordinated global media blackout was launched this week, with more than 250 outlets in over 70 countries pausing coverage or publishing blacked-out editions in protest over journalist deaths in Gaza.

The campaign was organized by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), and the activist network Avaaz.

Participating print publications were encouraged to publish front pages in black, either with or without a unified message.

Online outlets were asked to run banners across their sites, while broadcasters were urged to display a black screen with a metronome sound and the statement: “At the rate journalists are being killed in Gaza by the Israeli army, there will soon be no one left to keep you informed.” (Read more

1. Christian Leaders React to Minneapolis Catholic School Shooting - Crosswalk

In the wake of a church shooting that took young lives, pastors and faith leaders respond with truth, comfort, and a call to cling to God's Word.

Several Christian leaders have reacted to the shooting that took place at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Wednesday, which killed 2 children and wounded 17 people.

The suspect, 23-year-old Robert Westman, a transgender individual formerly known as "Robin," took his own life at the scene after carrying out the mass shooting at the church while the children were praying for the first Mass of the school year at Annunciation Catholic School.

Following the tragedy, Christian leaders have taken to social media to express their thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the families affected by the shooting.

- Lord, we pray for these families who lost their children. And we do pray: You be near them and comfort them as their world has been turned upside down. And we weep with them. in Jesus' name. Amen.

2.  CDC in turmoil. Trump still backs RFK Jr. - POLITICO

The move prompted dismay from both Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill as well as the public health establishment, but it was just the latest instance in which Trump has had Kennedy’s back when he makes controversial decisions. Earlier this month, Trump agreed to rehire one of Kennedy’s top vaccine advisers after firing him on the request of MAGA enforcer Laura Loomer. Likewise, Trump didn’t bat an eye when Kennedy said he wanted to defund research into mRNA vaccines – the type Trump’s Operation Warp Speed developed in record time during the Covid pandemic. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray for clarity and wisdom for the Trump administration as they go back-and-forth on choosing the person to place over the CDC and defunding the research of the MRNA vaccines. Help them to make a final decision to gain trust among the American people and the Senate.

- "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)

3. Sanders calls for bipartisan investigation into CDC director’s firing - The Hill

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) called for a bipartisan investigation into the firing of Susan Monarez as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), slamming the administration for making a “reckless” and “dangerous” decision.

“We need leaders at the CDC and [Department of Health and Human Services] who are committed to improving public health and have the courage to stand up for science, not officials who have a history of spreading bogus conspiracy theories and disinformation,” Sanders, the ranking member on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, said on Thursday.

Monarez, who was only weeks into the job after being confirmed by the Senate, was removed as the CDC head on Wednesday afternoon. Hours later, she said she was not fired and will not resign.

“When CDC Director Susan Monarez refused to rubber-stamp unscientific, reckless directives and fire dedicated health experts she chose protecting the public over serving a political agenda. For that, she has been targeted,” Washington, D.C., attorney Mark Zaid said in a statement on Monarez’s behalf.

The White House defended the ouster on Thursday, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt saying that Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would name a replacement “very soon.”  (Read more)

- Lord, we just pray that You place the right person over the CDC who will put the American people first, in Jesus' name.

- "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." (Romans 13:1)

4.  DC Churches to Trump: Stay Out of Our Parking Lots - Christianity Today

Black and mainline Protestant clergy in Washington, DC, are demanding that immigration officials stop using their church parking lots. “We want to remind those federal entities that the property of houses of worship is private and therefore should not be used without expressed permission from those worshipping entities,” the coalition wrote in a public letter signed by nearly two dozen religious and community leaders, including some who work with interfaith and social justice organizations.

Patricia Fears, the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, a predominantly Black congregation in the northwest quadrant of Washington, told CT she has heard from roughly ten Black and Latino churches that said they’ve seen either ICE vehicles or unknown cars, some of which carried masked men, in their parking lots. ICE did not comment for this story.

Fears, who organized the letter with an interfaith organization, said officers weren’t arresting congregants but using the church lots to stage operations and detain people nearby. The presence of federal officers limits ministry. Some people, including undocumented immigrants, are staying away from the churches, she said. (Read more)

- Lord, we do pray that these officials honor these requests from churches to not use their parking lots to detain immigrants unless permission has been given first.

- "Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored." (Proverbs 13:18)

5.  Trump warns tariff ruling could "literally destroy the United States" - AXIOS

Most of Trump's sweeping global tariffs not legal, appellate court says

A federal appellate court on Friday upheld a lower-court ruling invalidating the bulk of President Trump's sweeping global tariffs.

Why it matters: The ruling could quickly upend the global trade order Trump has built, cutting off a major new source of cash for the government and raising huge questions about what businesses are supposed to do next. (Read more)

- Lord, we just speak Your will over this court ruling and the tariffs. We speak wisdom for President Trump about how to bring relief to the economy and to the American people who are struggling right now. In Your Name, we offer this prayer, amen.

"Thy will be done; Thy kingdom come on earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10)
6. Trump casts doubt on Putin-Zelensky meeting: ‘Maybe they have to fight a little longer’ - The Hill

President Trump cast doubt on the prospects of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as part of an effort to end the war in Eastern Europe, suggesting that “maybe they have to fight a little longer.”

The president, in an interview with The Daily Caller, expressed confidence that a trilateral meeting between himself, Putin and Zelensky could materialize, but had less confidence in the bilateral huddle between the two Eastern European leaders.

“A [trilateral] would happen. A [bilateral], I don’t know about, but a tri will happen. But, you know, sometimes people aren’t ready for it,” Trump told the Caller’s White House correspondent Reagan Reese in an interview published Saturday. (Read more.)

- Lord, we continue to pray for a successful meeting between these countries and that an end to the war would come soon.

"A time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace." (Ecclesiastes 3:8)

The Daily Jot

A Society of Justice and Order

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 1, 2025

Shoftim, meaning “judges,” in Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9 shifts the focus of Moses’s teaching from worship practices to the establishment of just governance in the Promised Land. Moses charges Israel to appoint judges and officers in every city, ensuring impartiality in justice. Cases of idolatry were to be carefully investigated, and false prophets, sorcery, and witchcraft were forbidden. A judge’s responsibility to justice was never to be bent by bribes, favoritism, or fear. The emphasis was clear: Israel’s success in the land depended not only on worshiping rightly, but also on governing righteously. This foundation underscored that true freedom requires law, and true law flows from God’s holiness, not human invention.

One of the most misunderstood instructions appears in Deuteronomy 19:16-21 “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.” Often treated as a mandate for vengeance, the Torah actually set boundaries on justice. Known as lex talionis, it was meant to ensure proportionality, not cruelty. If someone inflicted harm, the penalty was to be fair—no less, no more. Later, Yeshua (Jesus) expanded the principle in Matthew 5:38-48, “If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also.” Far from nullifying the Torah, He revealed its deeper spirit: God’s law was never intended to fuel bitterness but to establish righteousness and mercy. Retribution was limited to courts, not individuals. In this way, Scripture restrained the human impulse for revenge, directing Israel toward equity, forgiveness, and compassion beyond mere rule-keeping. Read More

Something Strange Is Happening 1,700 Miles Beneath Your Feet. Now We Know Why.
Earth’s innards are rumbling, and it’s not indigestion.

Here’s what you’ll learn when you read this story:

  • Over a thousand miles from the surface, in Earth’s D” layer—right on the edge of the liquid metal outer core—there is a weird acceleration of seismic waves.
  • Experiments recreating the phenomenon in a lab found that this is the result of post-perovskite crystals, which form from perovskite.
  • The alignment of these crystals determines their hardness, which then determines how fast seismic waves can move through them.

Deep beneath Earth’s surface are layers of soil, rock strata often embedded with fossils, gurgling magma, and—back up. Before your Journey to the Center of the Earth mission can get any further, you’re going to have to get past flows of solid rock.

The D” layer—located between layers of magma above and the liquid rock of the outer core below—has been mystifying scientists for decades. This is in part because if you were to plunge down 2,700 kilometers (1,700 miles), you would be jump-scared by seismic waves that accelerate when they hit the threshold of the D” layer. It used to be thought the reason for this was the mineral perovskite, found in the lower mantle, morphing into a form known as post-perovskite close to the D” layer. But that still wasn’t enough to explain the phenomenon. Read More
