‘I Said a Quick Prayer’:
Man Turns to God After Thief Steals His Bible and a Miracle Unfolds
|

It was a true answer to prayer. After a Tennessee man discovered that his Bible case filled with family photos and memories was stolen, he turned to the Almighty to plead for its return. Matt Williams told WTVF-TV he was stunned to learn that his personal Bible was taken from his vehicle. "I went around to look, and it wasn’t there,” he told the outlet. “And I was like, ‘Oh no — surely they didn’t take the Bible of all things.'” But Williams said he turned to God in his desperate moment, asking the Lord to do His will. “I said a quick prayer,” he told WTVF-TV, recounting what he told God: “Lord, it breaks my heart. I got a lot of stuff in there that means a lot to me, and I’d like to get it back. But not my will but yours, like you always say.'”
Remarkably, the Bible filled with photos and personal items was found inside a stolen vehicle. The same individual who allegedly stole the Bible apparently later took someone else’s car. The thief left the Bible on the passenger seat next to another copy of the Scriptures. And if you’re wondering how Williams was identified and reunited with his Bible, consider yet another wild part of the story. The mother of the woman whose car was stolen and who recovered his Bible case posted about it on social media and asked who it belonged to, and Williams saw it and realized it was his. Now, his prized possessions are back in his hands. Ultimately, the ordeal reinforced a lesson for Williams: that God cares about every human. “God says not even a sparrow falls from the sky that he doesn’t know about and doesn’t notice, so apparently not a Bible gets stolen from a car in a driveway that he doesn’t notice and respond to as well,” he said. Mockers are back after murderous rampage on Catholic school
|
|
|
After yet another murderous rampage by an armed attacker upon a school, the mockers are back. But the mockers aren’t scoffing at deranged individuals bent upon evil. Their contempt is aimed at Christians who express sympathy and offer prayers for the victims and their families.
The murder of two children and the injury of many others at the Annunciation Catholic School rightly stirred strong emotions nationwide. Violence is never welcome, and violence against children is especially egregious. For Christians who express their emotions in light of God’s providential oversight of the world, an offering of prayer is not out of bounds. In the vein of saying, “I’m sorry for your loss,” to someone who has had a death in the family, you’ll nearly always — and quite appropriately — find Christians offering to keep victims of violence in their thoughts and prayers.
For some reason, this gets under the skin of many. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) launched the first volley, saying at a press conference, “Don’t just say this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying – it was the first week of school, they were in a church.” From there, the now-familiar “thoughts and prayers” sneering snowballed. The discussion really got heated when former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki posted on X, “Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. Prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.” When current White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt rebuked her predecessor’s glib remarks, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) got in on the game, posting, “These children were literally praying as they got shot at.” (Christian Post) Read more here.

- Holy One, we thank You that this spirit of accusation and antipathy toward people of faith publicly expressing their prayers has hit the public arena. We forgive the people who are raging and we pray for them to have God-dreams and encounters, so that they might know You Abba, as their Savior. In the meantime, we bind these demonic spirits and declare they will be silent, in Jesus' holy name and under His shed blood. May the prayers of Your saints release the light of Christ for healing and freedom over our nation, for the glory of the Risen King, Jesus.
- "For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye-witnesses of His majesty. . . . 5 things to know about Zohran Mamdani's policy agenda for NYC

|
The New York City mayoral election is just two months away. And this race is getting particular national attention because one of the leading candidates, Zohran Mamdani, proudly identifies as a democratic socialist.
Incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, is seeking re-election as an independent. Former Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo is also running an independent bid after losing the Democratic primary to Mamdani, while Curtis Sliwa is on the ballot as the Republican nominee.
The RealClearPolitics average of polls in the NYC mayoral race taken since July 1 shows Mamdani leading with 38.3% of the vote, followed by Cuomo at 23.3%, Sliwa at 16.6%, and Adams at 10.6%. As the frontrunner, Mamdani’s statements made during his mayoral campaign, as well as before his time in elected office, are receiving a lot of attention.

Experts Warn US of CCP Duplicity as Trade Talks Continue

As President Donald Trump pursues a trade deal with China, experts are cautioning that the regime has a history of breaking promises and can’t be trusted.
The duplicity of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can’t be solved by skilled negotiation or statesmanship, they said, as it stems from the regime’s structure and ideology.
The CCP has been notorious for failing to honor major promises, according to Bradley Thayer, coauthor of “Embracing Communist China: America’s Greatest Strategic Failure” and member of the Committee on the Present Danger: China (CPDC).
“Lenin said, of course, that agreements were pie crusts for communists—they’re made to be broken,” he told The Epoch Times. “And I think we want to keep in mind Lenin’s aphorism when we’re thinking about the CCP.”
He listed several instances in which the CCP broke agreements.
The CCP never fulfilled its vow to liberalize access to China’s market upon its 2001 accession to the World Trade Organization, he said. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Mighty God, this very real fact is known far and wide by anyone who has ever done work or business with China. The CCP will not honor their word, a contract or an agreement unless they receive full benefit at the expense of others. We pray for President Trump to walk in Godly authority and wisdom while dealing with hard-line communist nations so that he is able to procure agreements that will be mutually beneficial and have strong, strict and firm consequences which can be implemented as needed, in Jesus' name.

What to Expect as Congress Returns to Session This Week
|
|
|
September is here, which means Congress is back in session with a lot on its plate.
Both chambers return Sept. 2 after a month in their districts with constituents. As is usually the case, government funding is set to expire at the end of this month, and addressing that will take up a large share of Congress’s attention.
Lawmakers also have a slate of other priorities after a month of executive actions—from federal spending cuts to executive nominations—that kept the usually slow August news cycle busy.

We pray for members of both sides to have Jesus encounters whether through dreams, visions, their respective chaplains or other followers reaching out, in Jesus' name. We pray for those who do not have our nation's best interest at heart to have a heart-change or be removed from governing our nation in any way. Lead us well, O King.

1. Netanyahu to IDF soldiers: ‘What began in Gaza must end in Gaza’ - watch - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video message on Tuesday night to IDF soldiers about the next step in the war in Gaza, saying that "What began in Gaza - must end in Gaza."
Netanyahu noted that the current war effort is focused on Hamas, but said that Israel has also “achieved wonders” against Iran and its regional proxies. “We broke the Iranian axis – in Gaza, in Lebanon with Hezbollah, with the Assad regime that collapsed, with Iran itself that threatened us with existential threats which we removed together, and now also against the Houthis,” he said.
The prime minister stressed that Israel is fighting “a determined and supremely just war,” adding that the government does not forget “for a moment what was done to us on October 7: the beheadings, the women who were raped, the babies who were burned, the hostages taken into the tunnels of Gaza. 2. Hundreds of IDF reservists say they won’t report for duty if called up for Gaza City takeover op - Times of Israel
A group of hundreds of reservists opposed to the IDF’s plans to take over Gaza City have announced they will no longer report for duty if called up to fight in the ongoing war against Hamas.
“We are over 365, and counting, soldiers who served during the war and have declared that we will not report for duty when called again,” says Sgt. First Class (res.) Max Kresch at a Tel Aviv press conference. “We refuse to take part in Netanyahu’s illegal war, and we see it as a patriotic duty to refuse and demand accountability from our leaders.”
Kresch, a combat medic, says that the group of reservists and soldiers are the same people who rushed to the frontline on October 7 to protect Israel. (Read more)

3. Gazans ahead of IDF takeover: 'Let them fire a nuclear missile at us and end it' - report - JNS
Gazans were filmed by Channel 12 cameras expressing dismay towards Hamas leadership and their fears of the upcoming IDF takeover of Gaza City, with many conveying their desire for a better future, including by leaving the enclave.
Expressing their desperation, one Gazan was recorded by Channel 12 as saying, "For 40 years I've heard that Israel has nuclear weapons, so let them fire a nuclear missile at us and end it. Enough, we are completely desperate."
"Of course, the army really intends to conquer Gaza, from our past experience, everything the army promised, it carried out," another Gazan stated.
One man named Mahmoud said that there is no future for his family and children, saying, "I must emigrate; if they open the crossings, I will be the first to go." (Read more)

4. Belgium Ties Palestinian State Recognition to Hamas Exit, Hostage Release, Imposes Sanctions on Israel - Algemeiner
Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot has announced that Brussels will recognize a Palestinian state at this month’s United Nations General Assembly if the Hamas terrorist group is removed from power in Gaza and all remaining hostages are freed.
“Belgium will recognize Palestine during the joint initiative of France and Saudi Arabia,” the top Belgian diplomat said in a post on X on Tuesday, calling the move a “powerful political and diplomatic signal.”
Prévot’s announcement came after Prime Minister Bart De Wever warned that recognizing a Palestinian state would be “pointless and even counterproductive” without strict conditions in place.
“Hamas must disappear completely, there must be a credible Palestinian Authority, an agreement must be reached on borders, and Israel must receive security guarantees. Without that, recognition makes no sense,” De Wever said last week.(Read more)

5. Israel successfully launches Ofek 19 satellite into space - Israel National News
The Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D) Space Program Office in the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD), the IDF, and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) successfully launched the Ofek 19 satellite into space today (Tuesday) at 22:30 IST. The launch was carried out from an undisclosed test site by a “Shavit” launcher.
Ofek 19 is a highly advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) observation satellite with enhanced capabilities. Upon entering Earth’s orbit, the satellite will undergo a series of designated tests to assess its integrity and performance.
The defense space program is led by the DDR&D’s Space Program Office and includes various stakeholders within the IDF, such as Unit 9900 of the Intelligence Directorate and the Israeli Air Force (IAF). IAI developed and manufactured both satellite and launcher as lead contractor. (Read more)

1. Anti-Trump Judge James Boasberg Releases Woman Arrested for Threatening to ‘Sacrificially Kill This POTUS’ - Breitbart
A judge appointed by former President Barack Obama (D) has released a woman arrested for allegedly threatening to kill President Donald Trump.
U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia Chief Judge James Boasberg on Wednesday cut 50-year-old Nathalie Rose Jones loose under electric monitoring, the New York Post reported Monday.
The outlet cited legal documents that said it was “ORDERED that Ms. Jones shall then drive directly to New York City, taking only reasonable rests along the way and arriving in New York City to meet with her psychiatrist prior to 5 p.m. on August 27, 2025, and then shall follow the remainder of the conditions of release as set forth in the Order Setting Conditions of Release.”
The document was signed by Judge Boasberg.
The Post article noted that a few days before she was released, U.S. Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya denied the woman bond over the alleged threats against the president that she posted online. (Read more)

- Holy One, this is particularly troubling rhetoric to hear coming from a former candidate for vice-president. We pray for this man's voice to be confused and disregarded utterly, in Jesus' name. We ask You Mighty God, to keep all mentally unstable people from hearing any of this type of garbage from political figures, in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray that the voice of destruction is silenced and bound under the blood of Jesus and in His name.

3. Giuliani Released From Hospital After N.H. Car Crash - Newsmax
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been released from the hospital following a motor vehicle accident that left him briefly hospitalized.
In a statement shared on X, Giuliani assured supporters that he is recovering well and expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of concern.

4. DOJ Getting Military Lawyers to Serve as Temporary Immigration Judges - Newsmax
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has approved sending up to 600 military lawyers to the Justice Department to serve as temporary immigration judges, according to a memo reviewed by The Associated Press.
The military will begin sending groups of 150 attorneys — both military and civilians — to the Justice Department "as soon as practicable" and the military services should have the first round of people identified by next week, according to the memo, dated Aug. 27.
The move is being done at the request of the DOJ, and the memo noted that the details will initially last no more than 179 days but can be renewable. (Read more)

5. Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosure shows 1-year, 3,500% increase in net worth, to between $6M and 30M - America's Voice
Despite claiming just months ago it was “categorically false” to call her a millionaire, Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s latest financial disclosure shows a net worth of between $6 and $30 million.
She reported in her latest financial disclosure that her husband, Tim Mynett, has a stake in two companies that at the end of 2023 were worth no more than $51,000, but at the end of 2024 were worth between $6 and $30 million, the Washington Free Beacon is reporting Monday.
The Free Beacon points out that Omar told Business Insider in February of this year that she has been the subject of a "coordinated right-wing disinformation campaign," falsely claiming that she’s worth millions of dollars, which she called "ridiculous" and "categorically false." She also took to X in February, challenging her followers on X to "maybe try checking my public financial statements and you will see I barely have thousands let alone millions." (Read more)

6. Chinese networks use U.S. to launder billions for Mexican cartels - America's Voice
Chinese networks are laundering billions of dollars in drug cartel cash through the U.S. financial system, according to a new report from the Treasury Department.
Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network said banks flagged about $312 billion in transactions from suspected Chinese money laundering networks from January 2020 to December 2024. That came from 137,153 Bank Secrecy Act reports from financial institutions. Treasury also linked Chinese money laundering networks to U.S. real estate transactions, casinos, human trafficking and even laundering through assisted living homes in New York. The networks also use Chinese students studying in the U.S. to help facilitate some schemes. Real estate alone accounted for about 13% of the total, but the vast majority was U.S. banks.
"Money laundering networks linked to individual passport holders from the People's Republic of China enable cartels to poison Americans with fentanyl, conduct human trafficking, and wreak havoc among communities across our great nation," Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence John Hurley said. There have been so many attempts made at undermining, crippling or destroying this country at one point in time or another over our short history, yet You have seen fit to keep us moving forward, and for that, we thank You. We are encouraged by the amount of prayer and intercession You have called us to over the past few years and can see how You are exposing unrighteousness in so many areas. We thank You for the victory over the evil plans of the enemy against us, in the mighty and holy name of Jesus.

7. 'We're Going In': Trump Says He'll Send National Guard to Chicago, Without Giving a Timeline - Western Journal
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he will send the National Guard into Chicago. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump confirmed his intention, but offered no timetable.
“Well, we’re going. I didn’t say when. We’re going in,” he said during remarks at the White House.
The comments came after a violent Labor Day weekend in Chicago. At least 58 people were shot, eight fatally, during the holiday, ABC News reported. One drive-by shooting left seven people wounded, police said. (Read more)

- Mighty God, this whole matter is in need of Your intervention in order to save lives, honor our Constitution and bring order out of chaos. We pray for all of these leaders to stop gagging on gnats and do the right thing, in Jesus' name. It seems that so many people are shot or killed in this lawless city day after day. Holy King, we pray for Your compassion for the families who have been crushed by this uncivilized disregard for lives. We pray also for the shooters to find a better way in this world, may they all start hearing the name of Jesus and turn from their wicked ways and get new hearts, in Your holy name.

Addressing Transgender Hate

The tragic case of transgender-identifying mass shooters raises uncomfortable truths the political class refuses to confront. We are told the problem is the gun, but the manifestos and writings left behind by these killers paint a clearer picture: deep mental instability, festering grievance, and a consuming hatred. Since 2022, the media has documented at least seven extremely violent crimes by transgenders in the US, killing 14 and wounding 18. These are not simply political actors but deeply troubled individuals. Their identity becomes the lens through which they justify violence, but the underlying force is untreated illness. To focus solely on gun control, as gun-grabbing leftists do, is to miss the broken soul pulling the trigger.
Transgender advocates and political allies argue that mental distress comes only from society’s rejection. But there is another factor at play—coercion. Young people are pressured to adopt an identity, cheered on by activists, and cut off from dissenting voices. When the excitement fades, they find themselves trapped in a life-altering role that gnaws at the soul. Knowing deep down that biology doesn’t bend to ideology, they face internal conflict that can spiral into despair. In that crucible, rage brews against those who “won’t accept them,” especially Christians who support truth over affirmation. In most instances, leftist politicians immediately call for gun control ignoring the mental illness that accompanies transgenderism. Read More

President Donald Trump on Sept. 1 said that pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, should make public information that they’ve shared with him about their COVID-19 products. “It is very important that the Drug Companies justify the success of their various Covid Drugs,” the president said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump said Pfizer and other companies have shown him information “that is extraordinary, but they never seem to show those results to the public.”
The president then linked what he said was the lack of public information to the turmoil at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, whose director he recently fired. After the termination, several top officials resigned, in part because they opposed how the CDC, under orders from Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., earlier this year stopped recommending COVID-19 vaccines for healthy children and pregnant women.
Kennedy has also terminated funding for projects involving messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) technology, which is utilized by the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. Kennedy has said the technology does not work for respiratory viruses.

Minneapolis Shooting Highlights Increasing Hostility toward Christian Churches and Schools

Studying a single issue over time often reveals important trends, and one trend there to observe is an increasing amount of hostility toward Christian churches and schools across the United States. Most recently, a former student at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minn. fired into church window at an afternoon Mass and shot 19 people, two fatally.
“The shooter was very openly disdainful of Christianity and Christian symbols,” director of FRC’s Center for Religious Liberty Arielle Del Turco said on “Washington Watch.” “He had a picture of Jesus attached to a shooting target in his room, and he was posting videos about this. He had a magazine for one of his rifles that tauntingly said, ‘where is your God?’”
Immediately after the mass shooting, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) gave a press conference where “he was speaking about how important it is not to vilify the transgender community,” noted The Post Millennial’s Libby Emmons on “Washington Watch.” “He spoke at length, not just at that press conference, but later in the day, about how important it was not to vilify the transgender community.”
Now, why would Mayor Frey frame his comments as if people who identify as transgender were the victims? Wasn’t a Catholic school the target of the attack? Didn’t the attacker make his anti-Christian animus clear? Why the rush to defend a whole class of people disconnected from the shooting? In the instinctual response to respect people who identify as transgender over the actual victims of the shooting, Frey was joined by the entire left wing media, which “has been going above and beyond to make sure they’re using female pronouns for this man,” said Emmons.
Fortunately, it seems that government has turned a corner. “The FBI is investigating this as an act of anti-Catholic bias …. That’s a really encouraging sign that the administration is paying attention to this issue. They’re recognizing there’s hostility against Christianity,” said Del Turco. “While we are turning to prayer and turning to the Lord for help, we also are encouraged when our leaders are taking this seriously.”
In fact, Scripture itself makes the connection between prayer and the government protecting Christians. In 1 Timothy 2:2, Paul urges Christians to pray “for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” Christians should expect to face persecution in many forms, but Paul suggests that their ability to live peacefully results from their prayers for government officials.
Most fundamentally, Christians must recognize that acts of hostility toward churches in general, and shootings at Christian schools in particular, are not matters that can be settled with the right gun control legislation or some security funding. At a deeper level, we recognize these incidents as part of a spiritual war over the final state of eternal souls.
This is why “so many of these attacks on churches outlined in the report just seem to make no sense,” such as “people breaking into a small Baptist church in a rural area and just raiding and destroying the entire sanctuary,” Del Turco urged. “ And when these attacks make so little sense, I think it’s a reasonable conclusion that there’s a spiritual aspect here. … And for us, all of us, it’s a call to prayer.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

If you want to see the whole spectacle from start to finish (including the dimming of the penumbral phase), you have plenty of places to pick from. Most of Asia, a sliver of East Africa, and Western Australia will get the complete eclipse. The rest of Africa, Australia, much of Europe, and the east coast of Brazil will get at least part of the totality and the partiality.

Thanks to the planetary alignment at the time of the eclipse, a record-breaking 7 billion people will be able to see the celestial event.
