THE GOOD NEWS CORNER
The quiet frontline of the country – the families of servicemen
USA (MNN) — For the wives, mothers, and daughters of servicemen, Warrior Set Free prepares a place of rest and renewal. A siren pierces the sky as servicemen rush to their mission. Fire, crime, tragic accident, or threat to the State cuts their rest short and sends them out like arrows. Meanwhile at home — hands busy with children, cooking, studying, or work — their loved ones carry on, hearts lifted in prayer for a safe return. Kym Panquerne from Warrior Set Free says, “The men may be an active battle on the field, but the women are an active battle at home!” That battle means carrying the weight of home tasks with a team weakened by the absence of a husband, father, or son. Wives often parent alone, keep the household running, and solve problems by themselves — while also carrying the heavy stories their husbands bring home. “His PTSD spills over onto her, and so then she becomes wounded, not only from her own trauma, but then from her husband as well,” says Panquerne.

In response, Warrior Set Free is organizing a four-day retreat this March in Georgia. “This is for active military spouses of military first responders,” says Panquerne, “police officers, and mothers and daughters of those in active duty as well.” The goal is to bring these women into a place of peace and restoration with the Lord, without distraction. The problem is, we rarely give God four days of uninterrupted time. “So what we do is literally take away all the distractions and place you somewhere you can hear the voice of the Lord. All we do is — what we call — set a table and just let the Lord minister to these women,” adds Panquerne. (Mission Network News)  Read More Here

Abba Father, we lift PRAISE for the Hope that You bring to all who seek Your Holy presence. We pray for "Warrior Set Free" as they minister to wives, mothers and daughters of servicemen and first responders. May each woman receive blessings of restoration as they gather to find rejuvenation in the Lord. We ask Your Holy Spirit be poured out upon attendees, that they may be filled to overflowing, and clearly hear the voice of Yeshua. We thank You for this ministry and declare genuine healing and shalom over households, as the Joy of the Lord fills each heart! We pray this in the powerful Name of Jehovah Rapha, "The Lord who heals"- Amen.

"Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." (Jeremiah 17:14)

World summit to meet on two-state solution;
6 more nations set to recognize Palestine
Israel, US to stay away; Israel rejects NY conference as a ‘circus,’ has vowed response to wave of recognitions announced on eve of UN General Assembly; Abbas to appear via video

France and Saudi Arabia will convene dozens of world leaders on Monday at 3 p.m. New York time (10 p.m. Israel time) to rally support for a two-state solution, with several of them expected to formally recognize a Palestinian state — a move that could draw harsh Israeli and US responses.

Israel and the United States will boycott the summit, said Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon, describing the event as a “circus.” “We don’t think it’s helpful. We think it’s actually rewarding terrorism,” he told reporters on Thursday.

The UK, Canada, Portugal and Australia all announced on Sunday that they formally recognized a State of Palestine, with six more countries — France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, San Marino and Andorra — set to follow suit on Monday, ahead of world leaders’ addresses to the UN General Assembly.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the recognitions as well as the idea of Palestinian statehood, and vowed to respond upon his return from the UN. Some government ministers are pushing Israel to annex part of the West Bank in response.

Saudi Arabia has reportedly warned that West Bank annexation would have “major implications.” The UAE, with which Israel has relations, has also called annexation a “red line.”

A US State Department spokesperson called the recognitions “performative,” telling AFP on condition of anonymity: “Our focus remains on serious diplomacy, not performative gestures. Our priorities are clear: the release of the hostages, the security of Israel, and peace and prosperity for the entire region that is only possible free from Hamas.”

The US administration has also warned of possible consequences for those who take measures against Israel, including against France, whose president, Emmanuel Macron, is hosting the New York summit. Jerusalem is also considering specific bilateral measures against Paris, Israeli officials have said. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

- Holy One, we pray for Israel and ask You to hover ever so close to Your beloved land and draw the people to You. We pray for angel warriors to do business in the heavenlies bringing the demonic idolatry of the Palestinian agenda under the feet of Almighty God and collapsing the statehood aspirations, in the blood and authority of Jesus Messiah.

- "For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen." (Romans 16:19-20)

Trump Set to Speak at UN as Allies Recognize Palestinian Statehood
NEW YORK CITY—President Donald Trump will take the international stage this week to address the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 23 in New York City. The question of Palestinian statehood is expected to dominate this year’s meeting, with world leaders closely watching Trump’s speech, given his opposition to the proposal.

While the two-state solution is regaining momentum at the United Nations, the United States and Israel continue to reject the proposal.

Trump has made it clear that he disagrees with these decisions, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said during a press briefing on Sept. 22.

“These decisions are just more talk and not enough action from some of our friends and allies,” she said. “And I think you'll hear [Trump] talk about that tomorrow at the U.N.”

Trump said on July 29 that supporting a two-state solution would effectively reward Hamas. He reiterated his opposition on Sept. 18 during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his state visit.

“I have a disagreement with the prime minister on that score—one of our few disagreements, actually,” Trump said of the UK’s plan to recognize Palestinian statehood.

“We have to remember October 7, one of the worst, most violent days in the history of the world.

“We have to have the hostages back immediately.”

The United States has denied entry visas to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his delegation for this year’s General Assembly, citing national security concerns. The State Department blamed Palestinian leaders for the collapse of the Gaza cease-fire talks and for Hamas’s refusal to release its remaining Israeli hostages.
On Sept. 19, the U.N. General Assembly adopted a resolution allowing Abbas to address the assembly by pre-recorded video. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

President Donald Trump drew laughs from world leaders within moments of taking the stage at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

Trump joked about a broken escalator in the UN building as well as the broken teleprompters right in front of him.

"Thank you very much, I very much appreciate it," he said to the applause as he took the stage.

"And I don't mind making this speech without a teleprompter because the teleprompter is not working," he said as the leaders laughed. (Read more)

- Mighty One, we thank You for using President Trump as a mouthpiece and warrior standing beside Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel. We pray for his authority to come straight from Your throneroom and that it pierces hearts and minds with divine truth. We pray for other leaders to be pushed to reflect a little further on Godly truth about their decisions and particularly give them revelation of the disaster that is Hamas, Hezbollah and all that claims to be Palestinian, in Jesus's name.

- "For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, And conceal pride from man," (Job 33:14-17)

ICE Agents Won’t Comply With California’s ‘Unconstitutional’ Face Mask Ban: DHS
DHS called California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s new law unconstitutional and vowed agents will keep wearing masks on immigration raids.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said on Sept. 22 that it will defy California’s new law banning federal immigration agents and other law enforcement personnel from wearing face masks while on duty.

“To be clear: We will NOT comply with Gavin Newsom’s unconstitutional mask ban,” DHS said in a social media post.
DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin accused California Gov. Gavin Newsom of “fanning the flames of division, hatred, and dehumanization of our law enforcement” by signing the ban.

Newsom signed the measure on Sept. 20, making California the first state to prohibit most officers from covering their faces during official duties. The move followed criticism of masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducting operations, which Newsom described as resembling a “dystopian sci-fi movie.”
“Unmarked cars, people in masks, people quite literally disappearing,” Newsom said. “No due process, no rights, no right in a democracy where we have rights.”
Trump administration officials have defended the masks as essential for agent safety at a time when immigration enforcement has grown politically explosive, in some cases drawing violent anti-ICE protests. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Thank You Father, for continuing to protect and uphold our ICE agents and others who are working together with them in removing criminals from the streets and organizations of our nation. We pray for Gavin Newsom and everyone attached to this legislation to be brought under authority of Almighty God, so they would repent from their wicked deeds which seem to intentionally be meant to bring harm, terror or death to the agents or their families, including children, in Jesus's name. We pray for the state of California to be turned from darkness to light and that the people will be motivated to do the right thing and act justly, in Jesus's name.

- "'Indeed He would have brought you out of dire distress, Into a broad place where there is no restraint; And what is set on your table would be full of richness, But you are filled with the judgment due the wicked; Judgment and justice take hold of you.'" (Job 36:16-17)

Supreme Court dusts back administrative state in win for Trump, blow to Biden-appointed FTC commissioner
The high court set oral arguments in the case for December as it inches toward revisiting Humphrey's Executor

The Supreme Court on Monday backed President Donald Trump's decision to fire a commissioner on the Federal Trade Commission, sending yet another signal that the high court intends to revisit a 90-year-old court precedent about executive firing power.

The temporary decision to maintain Biden-appointed Commissioner Rebecca Slaughter’s termination was issued 6-3 along ideological lines. The Supreme Court set oral arguments in the case for December.

Trump's decision to fire Slaughter and another Democrat-appointed commissioner, Alvaro Bedoya, faced legal challenges because it stood in tension with the FTC Act, which says commissioners should only be fired from their seven-year tenures for cause, such as malfeasance.

Trump fired Slaughter and Bedoya shortly after he took office without citing a cause other than the president's broad constitutional authority over the executive branch. Bedoya resigned, but Slaughter vowed to fight her firing in court and see the case through to its conclusion.

A lower court initially sided with Slaughter and reinstated her, but she has since been fired and rehired several times as her case made its way to the Supreme Court. Monday’s decision came after the Trump administration asked the high court on an emergency basis to temporarily pause Slaughter's reinstatement while it considers the merits of the case.

The Supreme Court's decision to keep Slaughter's firing intact means she will remain sidelined from the FTC until after the high court hears arguments about the case in December. (Fox News) Read more here.

- We lift up the Supreme Court and ask You, Just Judge, to continue to protect them and guide every decision they make so that they judge for You and not for man, according to the Word of God. May they act in the fear of Almighty God, and decide faithfully and with a loyal heart, so that the nation may have confidence in their decisions. We thank You for the direction taken in this matter because we are praying for entrenched systems to be cleaned out and brought into the light of truth and honor, in Jesus's name.

- "'You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment. . . You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord your God is giving you.'" (Deuteronomy 16:18, 20)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Israeli president highlights rising antisemitism in New Year address
- World Israel News

Israeli President Isaac Herzog used his annual Rosh Hashanah message on Sunday to address Jewish communities worldwide, acknowledging rising antisemitism and stressing Israel’s role in defending democratic values and bringing home its hostages from Gaza.

“I know it has not been an easy time to be a Jew anywhere around the world,” Herzog said, noting that hostility toward Jews and supporters of Israel has intensified.

“Israel’s fight is a just fight. It is a fight in defense of its people, and it is a fight in defense of the entire Free World,” he said, urging solidarity with Israel against extremist ideologies.

Herzog praised diaspora Jewish communities for their resilience, citing advocacy for the release of hostages held in Gaza, opposition to antisemitism, and public expressions of Jewish identity. (Read more)

2. France, Saudi Arabia in warning to Israel: ‘Any form of annexation is a red line’
- Times of Israel

Saudi Arabia and France warned Israel on Monday against “any form of annexation” as potential retaliation for Western countries’ recognition of Palestinian statehood, saying it would be a “red line.”

A joint statement from the two nations after a UN summit they co-hosted aimed at promoting a two-state solution said they “urge the Israeli leadership to seize this opportunity for peace, and to issue a clear public commitment to the two-state solution.”

The two nations also called for an end to all settlement activities and settler violence.

“We reiterate that any form of annexation is a red line for the international community that bears serious consequences and constitutes a direct risk to existing and future peace agreements,” the statement said. (Read more)

3. Israel to Close West Bank Crossing to Jordan Indefinitely - Algemeiner

Israel will indefinitely close the only crossing between the West Bank and Jordan from Wednesday, days after reopening it following a shooting that killed two Israeli soldiers.

A spokesperson for the Israeli authority overseeing the Allenby crossing said that it would be closed from Wednesday morning “at the direction of the political leadership.” The statement did not provide any further reason for the closure.

Palestinian and Jordanian authorities had said earlier on Tuesday that Israel would close the border the following day.

The crossing serves as the main gateway for many Palestinians in the West Bank to travel abroad and is used to transport commercial goods between Jordan and the West Bank. (Read more)

4. PA’s Abbas tells UN that Hamas must surrender its weapons, condemns Oct.7 massacre - Times of Israel

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas calls for Hamas to surrender its weapons to his forces while condemning the group’s deadly attack on Israel in an address to a UN summit on a two-state solution.

“Hamas will have no role in governing [Gaza]. Hamas and other factions must surrender their weapons to the Palestinian Authority,” he says via video link, having been denied a visa to attend by the United States.

“We also condemn the killing and detention of civilians, including Hamas actions on October 7, 2023,” he says, referring to the hostages taken by the group. (Read more)

5. Syrian President: Security deal with Israel possible, but no recognition
- Israel National News

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa arrived in New York Monday for the UN General Assembly, expressing cautious optimism about a potential security agreement with Israel, while firmly rejecting normalization.

Sharaa, who led the rebel forces that ousted Bashar Al-Assad last December, is scheduled to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and deliver Syria’s first address to the General Assembly in decades.

Speaking at the Concordia summit and quoted by France24, Sharaa said, “I hope that that will lead us to an agreement that will keep the sovereignty of Syria and also resolve some of the security fears of Israel.” (Read more)

1. Secret Service Busts Massive Network Used in Swatting Attacks Against Marjorie Taylor Greene, Other Republicans - Breitbart

The U.S. Secret Service has uncovered a massive network of more than 100,000 SIM cards and 300 servers located within a 35-mile radius of New York City. The operation, believed to be run by foreign “nation-state threat actors” and criminals, was uncovered during an investigation into a surge of swatting calls targeting high-ranking government officials, including members of Congress and the Trump administration.

Targets of the swatting calls reportedly include Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), and Nikki Haley. The Secret Service’s Advanced Threat Interdiction Unit, in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies, traced the swatting signals to several locations in the New York tri-state area. Upon further investigation, they found a sophisticated network of SIM servers capable of generating enormous amounts of phone traffic while rapidly switching out SIM cards to evade detection.

According to Matt McCool, the special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s New York field office, the network posed an “imminent threat” to the agency’s protective operations. The servers, strategically positioned around New York City’s cellular network infrastructure, could have overwhelmed cell towers and disrupted cell service for the entire city. Furthermore, the network was powerful enough to send an encrypted, anonymous text message to every person in the United States within just 12 minutes. (Read more)

- We give You praise for exposing and stopping this organization and we ask You Father, to reveal the human actors involved so they may be arrested in their wicked deeds, in Jesus's name. We pray for the Secret Service to continue working diligently and aggressively to protect the people in their purview. We pray for a continued spiraling outward of raids bringing more and more strands of this criminal network down, in Jesus' holy name.

- "Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads and give them as plunder to a land of captivity! Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You; for they have provoked You to anger before the builders. So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work." (Nehemiah 4:4-6)

2. HUGE EXCLUSIVE… NJ Man Secures Nearly 1 Million Documents From Detroit’s 2020 Election, Including Copies of Absentee Ballots and Signed Envelopes in One of Largest Election FOIA Hauls In U.S. History - The Gateway Pundit

After years of being gaslighted by some of the most dishonest people in election history, The Gateway Pundit, along with some of the most respected election investigators in the state, are about to blow the lid off the lies about Detroit’s “secure” 2020 election that helped to give Joe Biden an inexplicable victory in the must-win state of Michigan.

Last week, Mr. Miller contacted me with news that he had just obtained almost 1 million election documents from the 2020 election via FOIA from the City of Detroit and Wayne County. Yehuda Miller’s request for the documents was originally rejected. Undeterred by their denial of public records, Miller hired a top FOIA attorney who successfully sued for the documents before the expiration of the 22-month federally mandated period, which requires election officials to retain all election records from all general, special, or primary elections. We are pleased to report that Mr. Miller has now secured copies of the actual absentee ballots, the signed envelopes that contained the absentee ballots, absentee ballot applications, QVF files, and total tapes from each (including the OUT OF BALANCE) Detroit precincts. (Read more)

- We rejoice to see these records released according to the FOIA records request. We pray that the "smoking gun" evidence is not deleted, withheld or otherwise unusable, in Jesus's name. May this evidence be used to prove malfeasance and wrong-doing in order to stop it from ever happening again in this nation. We are governed by the rule of law and we pray for it to be followed and those who break it suffer the consequences of their actions, in Jesus's name. We pray for honest, legal and righteous elections and the opportunities for fraud can no longer be advanced, for the sake of the honor of our nation.

- "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth." (1 John 2:19-21)

3. "Charlie Kirk effect" in full force as voters register Republican in large numbers - JusttheNews

On Sunday, as tens of thousands of mourners filled State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, for a memorial service for Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, voter registration tables at the event were inundated with future voters.

Matt Margolis of PJ Media remarked that "Some on the left celebrated the attack." That reaction has now triggered what’s being called the “Charlie Kirk effect,” a historic wave of Democrats abandoning their party and joining the GOP.

On Sunday, Kirk's wife, Erika, publicly forgave her husband's alleged killer. By contrast, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., told CNN viewers that if his party regains power, they will use the government to go after anybody "doing the bidding of the Trump administration."

That message of unity by Kirk and the message of disunity by Jeffries could be driving political sentiment more than Democrats may realize or would like to recognize. (Read more)

- Holy One, this unspeakable tragedy in the loss of Charlie Kirk is so clearly resulting in good in so many ways. Thank You for people hearing and responding to the gospel and to the ways of righteousness and justice in our land. May those who are already walking as Christians step up to disciple those who are coming around. We also pray for the church to be engaged in the governing of our nation, so they can help lead the newcomers into an understanding of why we believe as we do, in Jesus's name. Holy One, we also call for a cease and desist order upon Hakeem Jeffries and his organization who declare they will disregard justice and our Constitution in order to silence their political opponents and we, the people. We pray for them to lose their positions of power and be replaced with courageous and just leaders, in Jesus's holy name.

- "Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly." (Psalm 68:1-3)
4. 'Sick individuals': Police, state attorney general probe hate campaign against Turning Point USA - WND.com

Since Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated earlier this month, his organization, seeking free speech, civilized dialogue and even spiritual revival on America's campuses, has been bombarded with thousands of requests for launching additional chapters.

Make that tens of thousands.

But now both local police and the state attorney general have begun investigating a situation in Harris County, Texas, where Stratford High students were working to begin a group, and local parents opposed to the concepts espoused by TPUSA allegedly doxed those students, releasing their private information, which in Texas is a violation of the law.

Attorney General Ken Paxton, notified of the situation, said, "These are sick individuals. My office will review these messages for any violations of the law. The radical leftist culture of suppression must be totally defeated. We are not backing down, and we will not be silenced." (Read more)

- Father, we pray for these people doxing children to repent of their wicked ways and turn and get new hearts and live, in Jesus's name. We bind this nasty spirit and command it to stand down, in Jesus name and we pray for strength and wisdom for Ken Paxton and the others on his team who are standing firm against the ugly behavior. We call for justice and righteousness – the foundation of Your heavenly throne – to descend upon Texas and this nation, wherever there are people acting really wrongfully against others. May the glory of God continue to explode with new TPUSA Chapters starting everywhere drawing young people into righteousness and overwhelming the darkness.

- "Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Men and brethren, what shall we do?' Then Peter said to them, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" (Acts 2:37-38)

5. ‘A Gun Pointing to My Head’: Demi-Leigh Tebow Reveals Terrifying Attempted Kidnapping, What God Taught Her - Faithwire

Demi-Leigh Tebow, wife of former NFL star Tim Tebow, recently shared a shocking, near-death experience that taught her powerful lessons about showing up for others in need.

During a recent episode of “Jesus Calling: Stories of Faith,” Tebow recalled being on her way to an event just months after she was crowned Miss South Africa in 2017.

“It was broad daylight,” she said, proceeding to describe the “pretty horrendous life experience” that took place. “I stopped at this red traffic light … I end up getting surrounded by multiple men.”

Tebow continued, “I had a gun pointing to my head, and the moment I tried to get out of that vehicle, the guy on my side of the vehicle grabbed me by the arm … and said, ‘Get in. You’re going with us.'”

The most traumatizing part, though, came next, when Tebow said she fled and was knocking on “car door after car door,” desperately trying to get someone to help her — but to no avail. (Read more)

- Oh Father, we pray for this spirit of indifference to be broken off of our nation, in Jesus name. It happened to Ms. Tebow in another country and in the train with young Irina in our country.  We know that it is upon us now for many reasons, and too many people have been prosecuted for doing the right thing, like Daniel Penny, and we pray for healing for every one of them, in Jesus's name. We rebuke the accuser from the judicial system and command them to come under the righteousness of God and obey our Constitution and laws, in Jesus's name. We pray for this ugly chapter of our history to be ended, so that community, justice and the goodness of God is once again a part of our culture, in Jesus's name.

- "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." (Romans 8:5-6)

6. Lee Strobel Condemns Activist Journalism, Media’s Anti-Christian Bias - Faithwire

Famed investigative journalist Lee Strobel, the erstwhile Chicago Tribune reporter who rose to fame when he (unsuccessfully) tried to factually disprove the evidence for Jesus and ended up becoming a Christian, recently appeared on CBN’s “Faith in Culture” Podcast, where he asserted it’s the motivation that drives people toward journalism that has changed — and not for the better.

When he asks journalism students today why they are pursuing careers in news media, Strobel said he often hears they “want to change the world.”

“That wasn’t our motivation, and that was not our role,” he said of his time as an investigative reporter. “Our role was to report the news and tell both sides.”

Strobel, now a Christian who holds to a biblical pro-life ethic and opposes abortion, said the lack of Christian representation in newsrooms across the country is concerning. (Read more)

- Holy One, we call Godly journalists to the newsrooms of this nation, in the name of Jesus. May they be well trained in understanding their responsibilities to our country and their responsibilities to upholding the Constitution in all of their reporting. We pray for those who are running the media organizations to be replaced with people of integrity who truly seek to present both sides of an issue, honoring the intelligence of the citizenry to make their own decisions. We pray for this to be a hallmark of the restoration of our culture and nation, in Jesus's name.

- "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power" (Ephesians 1:17-19)

The Daily Jot

A Tale of Two Countries

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 23, 2025

The memorial for Charlie Kirk was a study in contrast. At State Farm Stadium, mourners filled every seat, spilling into overflow areas. President Donald Trump told the crowd that Kirk “died for his country, for freedom of speech, for the America we love.” Charlie’s widow, Erika, spoke of forgiveness, urging people to continue her husband’s mission of faith and freedom. At the same time,  Reps Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said Kirk’s legacy was filled with “hate” and “rage baiting,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called his rhetoric and beliefs “ignorant, uneducated and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans.” These two responses—one of grief and revival, another of scorn and judgment—stand worlds apart.

The service carried more of the spirit of a Billy Graham crusade. Hands raised, prayers soaring, hymns echoing across the stadium. It was a celebration of a young man’s incredible life in Christ Jesus, and a call to repentance and renewal. Trump framed Kirk as a martyr. Erika Kirk modeled love and forgiveness, an echo of the gospel message itself. One could imagine Graham, with his arm around Kirk above, nodding at the sight of tens of thousands responding not with despair, but with hope. Yet, critics in the press characterized Kirk’s life as a poison. The lines are drawn now—deep in the sand. On one side: God, law and order, and free speech. On the other: godlessness, lawlessness, and oppressed speech. It’s obvious. Read More

VIDEO: Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano Spews 1,250-Foot-High ‘Lava Fountains’—and It’s Jaw-Dropping
After days of quietly belching volcanic gasses, one of the world’s most active and dangerous volcanos began spewing lava again on the island of Hawaiʻi.

At 9:11 a.m. Eastern Time on Sept. 19, an enormous fountain of lava began spurting from the Kilauea caldera with arcs of orange molten rock reaching up to 700 feet high. A huge plume of gas and steam soared 10,000 feet overhead.

Multiple lava streams poured forth from the volcano as the latest eruption intensified. So far, all lava activity is staying within the crater in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park.

Located 200 miles south of Hawaii’s capital of Honolulu, Kilauea has been in state of volcanic flux for months. Experts at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have been waiting for weeks in anticipation. As Kilauea bubbled and overflowed, they measured its bulging crater and noted its “gas pistoning,” indicative of building magma pressure. This is Kilauea’s 33rd episode of “lava fountaining” since the current eruption began on December 23, 2024.

Over the summer, USGS posted explosive videos of volcanic fountaining online. In June, lava was seen squirting nearly 1,250 feet into the air. On Sept. 2, Kilauea’s 32nd episode was marked by molten rock flying 330 feet high.

Lately, visitors have been enticed to Volcanoes National Park to view the fiery scenery from overlooks along the crater rim. Thousands more tuned in online to watch the National Park Service’s volcano on livestream. (The Epoch Times) Read More

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
