Oklahoma state superintendent pledges a Turning Point USA chapter for every high school
|
|
Oklahoma state school superintendent Ryan Walters pledged Tuesday to have a Turning Point USA chapter in every high school to honor the group’s co-founder, Charlie Kirk. "I’m excited to announce today that every Oklahoma high school will have a Turning Point USA chapter," Walters said in a video on his X account. "We have seen the outpouring from parents, teachers and students that want to be engaged with the meaningful work going on at Turning Point. They want their young people to be engaged in a process that understands free speech, open engagement, dialogue about American greatness, a dialogue around American values."
He added, "For far too long, we have seen radical leftists with the teachers unions dominate classrooms and push woke indoctrination on our kids. They fight parents’ rights. They push parents out of the classroom, and they lie to our kids about American history. What we’re going to continue to do is make sure our kids understand American greatness, engage in civic dialogue and have that open discussion. 'Putin is pushing the limits': Eastern allies warn Trump not to pull US troops

Eastern European leaders are urging President Donald Trump to keep U.S. troops on NATO’s eastern flank after a wave of Russian air and drone incursions, warning that Vladimir Putin is "pushing the limits" and will "believe only what he sees" from allied defenses.
In interviews with Fox News Digital, ministers from Estonia, Lithuania and Romania said the alliance must harden its posture — moving from air policing to integrated air and missile defenses, sharpening rules of engagement and sustaining U.S. troop rotations — to prevent Russia from normalizing violations and eroding Article 5 credibility. They paired the military message with calls for tighter sanctions and an end to European energy dependence that funds the Kremlin’s war machine.
Their appeals land as Washington weighs a new national security strategy aimed at prioritizing homeland defense. Before the most recent incursions, U.S. officials had cautioned allies to prepare for a reduction of the American footprint, pressing Europe to take on a greater share of the burden. Secret Service foils massive plot to cripple NYC cell network and threaten UN General Assembly
|
|
A massive illegal electronic device network capable of crippling cell towers and jamming 911 calls across New York City was uncovered by the Secret Service — just as world leaders prepared to descend on Manhattan for the UN General Assembly, officials said Tuesday.
Investigators discovered the trove of devices — including more than 300 co-located SIM servers and 100,000 SIM cards – at multiple locations within 35 miles of the United Nations.
“The potential for disruption to our country’s telecommunications posed by this network of devices cannot be overstated,” Secret Service Director Sean Curran said.
Officials warned the devices had the capability of carrying out a wide-range of telecommunications attacks — including spamming networks with up to 30 million text messages a minute — that could have had “catastrophic” consequences for the city. (New York Post) Read more here. |

Ten shot, 4 killed at Michigan church and fire set "deliberately," police say
|
|
At least 10 people were shot, and four people killed, after a shooting and fire at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, authorities confirmed Sunday.
The big picture: Grand Blanc Township Police Chief William Renye said at a midday news conference that he expects more victims to be found at the scene, but couldn't say if they expected their injuries to be from the shooting, the fire, or both.
The latest: The death toll rose to four after "a couple additional bodies" were found in the chapel, Police Chief William Renye said during a briefing that began at 8pm Sunday ET.
Situation report: One of victims was in critical condition and the seven others hospitalized were in stable condition, Renye said at an earlier briefing Sunday evening.
He identified the suspect as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford, who is dead.
Investigators believe the fire in the chapel was deliberately set by the suspect, who is dead, Renye said.
Driving the news: The suspected shooter drove his vehicle through the front doors of the church before opening fire during a service, Renye said.
The suspect used an assault rifle in the attack, he told reporters.
In a video shared to Facebook earlier Sunday, Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said the "entire church" was on fire. Renye said an earlier briefing that the blaze had been extinguished.

1. Hamas says contact lost with 2 hostages, demands IDF halt aerial activity so they can be ‘extracted’ - Times of Israel
Hamas’s military wing announces that contact with two hostages has been lost due to “military operations and violent strikes in the Sabra and Tel al-Hawa neighborhoods of Gaza City over the past 48 hours.”
In its statement, the military wing demands that the IDF “withdraw to the south of Street Eight (one of the streets in Gaza City) and halt aerial sorties for 24 hours starting at 6 p.m. today so that attempts can be made to extract the prisoners (hostages).”
The statement’s apparent indication of the hostages’ exact location is unprecedented. (Read more)

UNITED NATIONS — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Friday that Israel would “finish the job” in Gaza as President Donald Trump expressed fresh optimism that a deal to end the fighting in the enclave was near.
Netanyahu’s remarks to the United Nations General Assembly cast doubt on an imminent breakthrough. While Qatar had been mediating between the Hamas militant group and Israel with U.S. support, those talks have largely stalled after Israel earlier this month bombed Hamas leaders in Doha.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday moments after Netanyahu’s remarks, Trump said a deal on Gaza is “very close.”

Addressing the UN General Assembly, the center-right Greek leader says Israel had a right to self-defense after the October 7, 2023, massacre by Hamas, but cannot “justify the death of thousands of children.”

5. Tzuba hotel attacker: 'I stabbed them because they are Jews'

A prosecutorial statement was filed this morning against the terrorist who carried out a stabbing attack at a hotel in Kibbutz Tzuba. One of the victims was seriously injured and the other moderately injured. During questioning, the attacker admitted that he stabbed them “because they are Jews.” An indictment is expected to be filed against him in the coming days.
The attack took place about two weeks ago, on a Friday afternoon. The terrorist, a resident of eastern Jerusalem in his 40s and a maintenance worker at the hotel, entered the dining hall while numerous guests were present.
He took a knife from the premises and stabbed two individuals. One victim sustained serious injuries and the other moderate injuries; both were evacuated to the hospital for treatment. (Read more)

1. Supreme Court Lets Trump Admin Hold Back $4 Billion In Foreign Aid - Daily Caller
The Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration on Friday to hold back $4 billion in foreign aid funds.
The justices temporarily halted an order by U.S. District Judge Amir Ali, a Biden appointee, directing the administration to pay out billions in foreign aid in early September.
“[O]n the record before the Court, the asserted harms to the Executive’s conduct of foreign affairs appear to outweigh the potential harm faced by respondents,” the Supreme Court’s order states.
“This order should not be read as a final determination on the merits,” it continues. “The relief granted by the Court today reflects our preliminary view, consistent with the standards for interim relief.”
Justice Elena Kagan noted in a dissent that the request raises “novel issues fundamental to the relationship between the President and Congress.” (Read more)

2. FBI Bombshell: 274 agents sent to Capitol for J6, many later complained they were political ‘pawns’ – Just The News
The FBI secretly deployed more than 250 plainclothes agents to the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, an operation so disorganized it unleashed searing frustrations among many of the FBI's rank-and-file that the bureau had lost its core competencies to "wokeness" and allowed its employees to become “pawns in a political war,” according to an after-action report kept from the public for more than four years.
Scores of FBI agents and personnel – many from the bureau’s premier Washington field office (WFO) – sent anonymous complaints to the after-action team detailing how agents were sent into an unsafe scenario without proper safety equipment or the ability to identify themselves readily as armed officers to other police agencies, the report obtained by Just the News shows.
The most persistent complaint was that the bureau during the James Comey and Chris Wray era had become infected with political biases and liberal ideology that treated the protesters from the summer 2020 Black Lives Matter riots far differently than those arrested in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 episode.
“The FBI should make clear to its personnel and the public that, despite its obvious political bias, it ultimately still takes its mission and priorities seriously,” one employee wrote in a stinging review. “It should equally and aggressively investigate criminal activity regardless of the offenders' perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations; and it should equally and aggressively protect all Americans regardless of perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations.” (Read more)

3. Trump administration official physically assaulted at UNGA by 'deranged leftist,' White House says - Fox News
A Trump administration official was physically assaulted by a "deranged leftist" inside the United Nations Thursday afternoon during the gathering of the UN General Assembly, Fox News Digital has learned.
An official working in international relations for the Department of Health and Human Services was in New York City serving in a support role for HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the department’s leadership team at UNGA.
"An HHS official was followed into a bathroom, recorded, physically assaulted and verbally accosted by a deranged leftist at the UN who somehow entered the venue past multiple layers of security," White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly told Fox News Digital. "Thankfully, the official is safe, and the lunatic was arrested, but this is part of a disturbing and dangerous set of failures by the UN after their sabotage of President Trump ahead of and during his speech."
Kelly told Fox News Digital that the U.S. Secret Service will investigate "how this violent protester was admitted into a major national security event."
A source familiar told Fox News Digital that the individual has been charged with assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The individual was released from custody at 7:30 p.m. Friday night, the source said. The individual is expected in court next on Nov. 13. (Read more)

4. ‘Existential Threat’: Planned Parenthood Faces Potential $1.8 Billion Liability in Major Medicaid Fraud Lawsuit - The Gateway Pundit
A whistleblower lawsuit against Planned Parenthood could put the baby killing factory on the hook for as much as $1.8 billion in fraudulent Medicaid claims.
Doe v. Planned Parenthood was filed in 2021 under the False Claims Act by an anonymous whistleblower. The lawsuit accuses Planned Parenthood of continuing to bill Medicaid for services in Texas and Louisiana after both states revoked the abortion giant’s eligibility in 2015, and while their provider status was under review.
The two states revoked the organization’s Medicaid eligibility after they were exposed for selling fetal tissue and organs. Louisiana and Texas quickly moved to revoke the organization’s Medicaid eligibility, although court orders delayed the revocation.
During the delay, the group continued to make Medicaid reimbursement claims. In 2020, the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the states. (Read more)

5. Obama Presidential Center deposits just $1M into $470M reserve fund aimed to protect taxpayers - Fox News
When the Obama Foundation snagged a sweetheart deal to build its beleaguered Obama Presidential Center on a Chicago public park, it pledged to create a $470 million reserve fund to spare taxpayers should the project ever go belly up.
But new tax filings show the foundation has only deposited $1 million into the fund and has not added to it in years, with critics saying the empty promise could potentially leave Chicagoans on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars.
Under its agreement with the city, the foundation was required to create the fund, known as an endowment, in order to take control of the sprawling 19.3-acre section of Jackson Park — often described as Chicago’s Central Park equivalent — where the complex is now slowly rising.
The foundation ultimately secured the public land for just $10 in 2018, under a 99-year deal.
But when former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama turned the sod at the site in September 2021, just $1 million — or 0.21% of the pledged funds — had been deposited into the endowment, and that figure has remained unchanged ever since.
With construction progressing at a snail’s pace and costs ballooning from an original estimate of $330 million to at least $850 million, the lack of progress on the promised endowment has fueled fears the Obama Presidential Center could leave taxpayers holding the can if finances spiral into the red. 6. Ben Carson Joins the Trump Administration: 'There Is No One More Qualified' - The Western Journal
A man who knows how to climb out of poverty because he did it himself and has spent decades working for the betterment of America is joining the Department of Agriculture.
Dr. Ben Carson was sworn in Wednesday by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins as National Advisor for Nutrition, Health, and Housing, according to a USDA news release.
Carson, who emerged in the public eye in 2016 when he ran for the GOP presidential nomination, was the secretary of Housing and Urban Development in President Donald Trump’s first term.
Trump has said he will award Carson, a brain surgeon born into poverty in Detroit, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, according to Fox News.
“There is no one more qualified than Dr. Carson to advise on policies that improve Americans’ everyday quality of life, from nutrition to healthcare quality to ensuring families have access to safe and stable housing,” Rollins said in the USDA release. (Read more here)

Trump orders troop deployment to ‘war ravaged’ Portland to protect ICE facilities: ‘Authorizing full force’

|
President Trump ordered the Department of War to dispatch “all necessary” troops to Portland, Oregon, to secure the city and safeguard Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel, he said Saturday.
Trump also confirmed he is “authorizing Full Force, if necessary,” amid a spate of daily protests against the federal ICE detention facility in Portland that have intensified since June.
“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” Trump declared on Truth Social.
“I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary.”

Tropical Storm Watch Issued In Florida Ahead Of Future Imelda's Southeast Impacts
|

Tropical storm watches are in place across the east coast of Florida from Future Tropical Storm Imelda. The storm is now expected to slow down and stall near the Southeastern U.S. next week, with threats of flooding rain, surge and winds.
We now have Tropical Depression Nine and with it more information.
Tropical storm watches are now in place across parts of the east coast of Florida. Tropical storm warnings are in effect in the Bahamas and South Carolina's Gov. Henry McMaster has declared a state of emergency due to what will soon become Tropical Storm Imelda. Imelda will pose a danger of heavy rain, high winds and coastal flooding to the Southeast U.S.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Humberto underwent rapid intensification on Friday, going from a tropical storm to a major hurricane in less than a day. The storm's maximum sustained winds jumped from 65 mph to 145 in only 24 hours, making it the third storm to do so this year in the Atlantic Basin, following Erin and Gabrielle. The 2025 Harvest Moon won't shine in September; instead, October claims the title. Here's why it happens and when to see it.
Our next full moon will occur on Oct. 6, and it will be a somewhat special one for those living in the Northern Hemisphere in that it will also carry the title of "Harvest Moon." The moon officially turns full when it reaches that spot in the sky opposite (180 degrees) to the sun in the sky and this moment will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 03:48 GMT (which corresponds to 11:48 p.m. EDT on Oct.6, or 8:48 p.m. PDT).
But it also turns out that this full moon is the one that comes closest on the calendar to the September equinox. In 2025, this circumstance comes later than usual, into the month of October, as opposed to the more traditional month of September. Full moon in September came on Sept. 7 and occurred 15.006 days prior to the autumnal equinox. The full moon of Oct. 6 occurs 14.395 days after the equinox, or 14 hours and 39 minutes nearer to the equinox than September's full moon.
Thus, the 2025 version of the Harvest Moon falls in October, although, for U.S. time zones, it can occur as early as Sept. 8 (as in 2014) or as late as Oct. 7 (as in 1987).
October oddities
Between 1970 and 2050, there are 18 years when the Harvest Moon comes in October. The last time was in 2020 and the next time will be in 2028. On average, October Harvest Full Moons come at three-year intervals, although the time frame can be quite variable and there can be situations where as much as eight years can elapse (the next such example will come between 2028 and 2036).
