Trump Admin Shuts Down Hundreds of Truck Schools That Passed Drivers Who Can't Speak English
|

Two hundred and thirty-nine Americans are dead on the nation’s highways, killed in crashes linked to commercial truck drivers who couldn’t speak English. Now the Trump administration is doing something about it.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced Monday a sweeping crackdown on fraudulent commercial driver’s license schools that have been churning out unqualified truckers, many of them illegal migrants, in violation of long-standing federal safety rules.
The emergency action shutters 270 driving schools across the country. “What we are announcing is an emergency executive shut down of 110 driving schools,” Duffy explained during the announcement. “So, these are driving schools that account for 5,000 of the violations for English proficiency. What I mean by that is, you have to speak English to operate a commercial motor vehicle. I didn’t create that rule, President Trump didn’t create that rule. That rule has been in place for decades.”
The English proficiency requirement exists for obvious reasons. Truckers hauling 80,000-pound rigs down American highways need to read road signs, understand weigh station instructions, communicate with law enforcement, and respond to emergencies. Without basic English skills, they’re a danger to themselves and everyone sharing the road with them. Father God, we are grateful for Transportation Secretary Duffy and Homeland Security Secretary Mullin for eliminating unqualified truck drivers from traveling our highways and local streets. We pray for continual 'commonsense' decisions, correcting all that is mis-aligned and for exposure of unethical practices due to greed. We praise You for making our current administration aware of the tremendous danger to citizens due to truckers hauling large rigs on highways while not being able to read road signs or communicate in emergencies. We ask as these driving schools that gave licenses to unqualified individuals are shut down, You would bring ethical driving schools to replace them and cause jobs to be available for our own citizens who are proficient in the english language and understand road laws of our country. In Jesus Mighty Name - Amen.

Democrat Suozzi Says DSA Platform Is a “Horrible” Agenda
|
|
A New York Democrat is warning his own party that the policy agenda of the Democratic Socialists of America is a political liability that candidates tied to the group cannot simply wish away, even as the left wing’s influence continues to grow within the party.
Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., who represents parts of Long Island and Queens, weighed in on the growing presence of DSA-aligned candidates in a CBS interview this week, arguing that those seeking office under the party’s banner should be held accountable for the organization’s positions whether or not they choose to talk about them publicly.

“They’ve got to defend the DSA platform,” Suozzi said, arguing the platform is a horrible agenda that would fundamentally reshape American governance.
He attributed a sweeping list of policies to the DSA, including government control of major corporations in food, medicine, and utilities, eliminating the U.S. Senate, and having the House appoint the Supreme Court and select the president.
“I’ve always got to defend the Democratic platform,” he said, drawing a contrast between the scrutiny DSA candidates receive and the accountability he says he himself faces as a mainstream Democrat.

Let Us Grieve in Peace: 9-11 Victims’ Families Demand Mamdani Stay Away from Commemoration

Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s lies have a price. His anti-American, anti-Israel, and pro-terrorist rhetoric has deeply offended New Yorkers who still carry the painful memory of the horrific day when the World Trade Center complex was attacked. Even more troubling, his deceptive words of praise for Islamic extremists have struck like arrows in the hearts of those whose loved ones had their lives snuffed out by bloodthirsty terrorists.
Mayor Mamdani Asked to Stay Home
“Let us have our peace.” That is the plea being made by the relatives of those who perished on September 11, 2001. More specifically, they are asking Mayor Mamdani not to attend the 25th anniversary commemoration at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza in Lower Manhattan on September 11, 2026.
For those who still bear the grief of that terrible day, the ceremony is a sacred and solemn time to remember, mourn, and honor those they lost. Many fear that Mamdani’s presence would intrude upon that remembrance and reopen painful wounds, particularly among those deeply troubled by past remarks they believe expressed sympathy or praise for individuals associated with terrorism and hostility toward Americans.
Fraternizing with Extremists
Mayor Mamdani’s refusal to “clearly and unequivocally condemn phrases such as ‘globalize the intifada,’” and his “associations with individuals whose public statements or records are viewed by family members as dismissive of American institutions or insufficiently critical of extremist ideologies,” are just some of the reasons why a request is being made that he should refrain from attending the ceremony.
Equally concerning is Mayor Mamdani’s friendly relationship with left-wing, antisemitic influencer Hasan Piker. The popular streamer has stated that America “deserved” the 9-11 terrorist attacks and declared that it “doesn’t matter if rapes happened” on October 7, 2023, in Israel. Mamdani’s interview with Piker in 2025 drew heavy criticism, especially from those who lost family members on 9-11.
Despite the wishes of 9-11 families, Mayor Mamdani has stated that he will make every effort to attend. “I will proudly honor the families, the survivors, the first responders forever impacted by that horrific terror attack by standing alongside them at this year’s 9/11 commemoration, reaffirming that we will never forget the solemn day felt by all of us who call this city home, and frankly, by all of us who call this country home,” he claimed.

Is Socialism Taking Over the Democratic Party?

The Democratic Socialists of America are growing in numbers and political influence, with candidates and elected officials advancing the movement’s agenda at the local, state, and federal levels.
On IFA’s September First Friday webcast, IFA President and CEO David Kubal and Chief Program Officer Kris Kubal examined the DSA’s ideology, its strategy for gaining political power, and what its rise could mean for the future of the United States.
The DSA is not simply another political party competing against Republicans and Democrats. Kris explained that the organization has instead pursued a strategy of operating within the Democratic Party, supporting socialist candidates who run as Democrats and attempting to move the party progressively further left.
That strategy has become increasingly significant as the organization has grown. David noted that DSA membership has risen dramatically in recent years, while DSA-affiliated candidates and officeholders have appeared throughout the country. The movement’s influence is also no longer limited to traditionally progressive areas; Kris pointed to candidates and officials emerging in states such as Utah, Louisiana, Georgia, and Nebraska.
During the webcast, David and Kris highlighted several positions contained in the DSA platform, including abolishing the Senate and Electoral College, restructuring the presidency and Supreme Court, abolishing ICE and prisons, expanding public ownership, and opposing Israel. Prime Minister's Office releases Netanyahu’s Oct. 7, 2023, timeline

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday evening released a detailed timeline of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions on the morning of the Hamas massacre on Oct. 7, 2023, in response to what it described as “inaccurate reports” published in the media recently.
According to the PMO, Netanyahu was first informed by his military secretary at 6:29 a.m. that an attack was underway from the Gaza Strip.
At 6:44 a.m., during a second update with his military secretary, Netanyahu asked why nothing indicating an impending attack had appeared in the intelligence provided to him, according to the statement. He also asked officials to examine whether a broad mobilization of IDF reservists was required and whether Hamas’s senior leadership could be eliminated.
At 7:30 a.m., Netanyahu left for the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv after his motorcade had been prepared.
Netanyahu arrived at the Kirya at around 8 a.m., the statement said, while noting that Shin Bet (Israeli Security Agency) records put his arrival at 8:22 a.m.

According to the PMO, Netanyahu ordered the Gaza border sealed to prevent hostages from being taken into the Strip and additional terrorists from entering Israel.
The prime minister rejected an IDF recommendation for a partial mobilization of reservists and instead ordered a full call-up, according to the statement. He further instructed the military to issue wartime orders and prepare for the possibility of fighting on the northern front.
The Hamas-led massacre began at approximately 6:29 a.m. on Oct. 7, 2023, when thousands of terrorists breached the Gaza border and attacked Israeli communities and military positions. Some 1,200 people were killed and 251 were abducted to the Gaza Strip. (JNS.org) Read more here.

We acknowledge that this is a very difficult situation for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address as he leads his nation, and as he prepares for his own upcoming election. We pray that any and all hidden things will be revealed to the public, so that the voters will cast their ballots in truth. We also pray that no vote would be case that would divide the land of Israel. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer today, that the nation of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will walk in peace. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that "the end of the Iranian regime is near," and that its fall would "change the fate of the Middle East and the Jewish people."
Netanyahu also implied that Israel is continuing operations against Iran in order to achieve the fall of the regime, saying that he is "determined to do this."

2. Katz threatens 'all-out war' on PA over West Bank 'October 7-style attack' terror threat to Israel - Jerusalem Post
Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have directed the IDF to target senior Palestinian Authority officials in an “all-out war” on terrorism in the West Bank, should Israel identify a plan to launch an “October-7 style” attack on Israeli forces and Jewish settlements.
“If the security apparatuses of the Palestinian Authority and the bodies associated with them launch, or we know for certain that they are about to launch, an October 7-style terrorist attack against forces and Jewish settlements, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and I instructed the IDF to prepare to launch an all-out war against senior officials and mechanisms of the [Palestinian] Authority, the bodies associated with them, and against all terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria – in order to quickly bring about their complete defeat,” Katz said.

3. ‘Breaking Dawn 2.0': IDF launches surprise country-wide drill - JNS
The Israel Defense Forces launched an unannounced nationwide readiness drill early on Sunday morning to test its preparedness for a sudden, large-scale multi-front conflict ahead of the upcoming High Holidays, according to an army statement.
Under the direction of the IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, the General Staff surprise exercise—dubbed “Breaking Dawn 2.0"—evaluates the military headquarters, command decision-making and rapid deployment capabilities across multiple operational sectors.
As part of the drill, senior commanders throughout regional commands, branches and directorates were summoned, while standby forces mobilized and reserve readiness underwent review. 4. Britain said set to declare trade ban with West Bank settlements on Tuesday amid E1 dispute - Times of Israel
Britain is set to announce wide-ranging economic restrictions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank on Tuesday, including a ban on trade in goods produced in the settlements, reports said Monday, in what would mark a significant escalation in London’s pressure on Israel and possibly prompt similar measures by other countries.
The New York Times reported that seven officials briefed on the measures had said the package was expected to include a trade ban on goods produced in Israeli settlements. Three of the officials said it could also include sanctions on companies helping to build settlements.
The measures would go significantly beyond previous British sanctions related to the West Bank, which have targeted individual settlers and far-right Israeli ministers. Lord Tariq Ahmad, who served as Britain’s Middle East minister until 2024 and has knowledge of the expected policy, told the New York Times that the government was “broadening the extent of the sanctions from individuals to looking at processes and the system.” (Read more)

5. Israeli official calls to expel UK ambassador over anti-Israel boycott

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called Monday night for the immediate expulsion of Britain’s ambassador to Israel after reports that London is preparing to announce sweeping economic measures targeting Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria as early as Tuesday.
“Expel the British ambassador tonight!” Smotrich wrote on X. “The British Mandate in the Land of Israel is over.”

1. Trump: Missouri Supreme Court ‘ridiculously ruled in favor’ of blocking redistricting plan - The Hill
President Trump on Thursday condemned the Missouri Supreme Court’s decision to block new congressional lines drawn to benefit Republicans from being used in the state’s November election.
The state’s highest court unanimously ruled Thursday evening that the map, which was used in the state’s primary elections last month, “did not go into effect and will not go into effect” unless it is approved by voters in a citizen-led referendum on the ballot this fall.
The president called the ruling a “Dark Day for ‘Justice’ in Missouri” in a Truth Social post.
“The Missouri Supreme Court just ridiculously ruled in favor of changing the maps back to what they were a long time ago. It’s called, Ancient History!” Trump wrote.
“The problem is, according to Legal Scholars, that not only was the ruling horrible, ridiculous, and unConstitutional, but there won’t be enough time to change the map back with the Election coming up in a very short period of time,” he continued. “The Election Process, as usual, is being disturbed in America!” (Read more here)

2. Trump Prepares To Headline Historic GOP Midterm Convention – Official Trump Tracker
President Donald Trump is preparing to take center stage in Dallas as Republicans gather for the party’s first-ever midterm convention.
The two-day event, scheduled for Sept. 9 and 10 at the American Airlines Center, will serve as a massive campaign rally aimed at energizing Trump’s supporters and promoting Republican candidates ahead of November’s elections.
“Dallas will take center stage on September 9th and 10th as we celebrate our Nation, our achievements and our bright future,” Trump said when announcing the gathering, according to The Texas Tribune.
Vice President JD Vance will deliver the keynote address on the opening night. Trump is expected to appear on both nights before closing the convention with a primetime speech on Sept. 10.
The official convention schedule promises 109 speakers and program items across the two evenings, although the identities of most participants remain under wraps. (Read more)

Sept 4 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's administration on Thursday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to allow it to enforce a new U.S. Postal Service rule tightening the use of mail-in ballots, leaving states in limbo as to whether they will be required to implement it for the November 3 midterm elections.
The uncertainty has taken on new urgency as deadlines approach for U.S. states to send out mail ballots ahead of the midterms, with Trump's Republicans defending narrow majorities in both chambers of Congress. North Carolina was expected to send out its ballots on Friday, the first state to do so.

4. Huckabee, in West Bank, urges severe consequences for settler violence: ‘Terror is terror’ - Times of Israel
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee called on Saturday for “severe consequences” for violent settlers as he met with Palestinians in the central West Bank.
The meeting in Turmus Ayya included families of Palestinian Americans killed by settlers. The Ramallah-area town, home to a large number of US citizens, has faced repeated settler attacks.
“Our clear message is that crime is crime, terror is terror. When people do it, they should have an expectation that they will have severe consequences,” Huckabee told reporters, adding that “the government has a responsibility” to ensure targeted Palestinians’ safety.
Taking action was also in Israel’s “best interest,” Huckabee said, since “their reputation does not do well when it appears that this tiny little group of marauders are somehow representative of the larger population. I don’t believe that it is.”

5. 3 said killed in IDF strikes in Lebanon after Hezbollah drone attack on troops - Times of Israel
Lebanon reported at least three people killed and 23 wounded late Friday in IDF strikes that the military said targeted Hezbollah after the Iran-backed terror group launched a drone at troops in Israeli-held territory in the country’s south.
The Israeli strikes hit five locations in the southern Tyre and Nabatieh regions and the eastern Beqaa Valley, Lebanon’s health ministry said.
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported two young men were killed while riding a motorcycle in the Nabatieh-area Ali Taher Ridge, where the IDF on Thursday said it finished clearing out a “strategic” underground Hezbollah facility.
Another Israeli strike on the Tyre-area village of Rmadiyeh killed a third person and wounded 15 others, including two children, three women and six rescuers, according to the health ministry.
A rescue service source told AFP that the strike in the village, which is sheltering people displaced from other southern areas, had hit a house. (Read more)

6. 'October 7 treason?' 40% of Israelis believe there was 'betrayal from within' during massacre - Jeruslem Post
Almost half of Israelis, particularly those aligned with parties that form Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition, believe that there was a "betrayal from within" conspiracy around the morning of October 7, 2023, a poll published by Maariv on Friday found.
Out of the respondents, a slight plurality, at 44%, believed that there was no "betrayal from within," while 40% believed such an event did occur, and 16% said they were unsure.
The poll also broke down these results by political affiliation, with 61% of coalition voters believing there was an "betrayal from within," while 64% of opposition voters believed there was no such event. (Read more)

Turning and Returning

In Deuteronomy 30:2, Moses told the children of Israel, “Return to the LORD your God, you and your children, and obey His voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul.” Returning to God is the theme of the High Holiday season. The Hebrew word is teshuvah, often translated as “repentance,” though it is more accurately understood as turning back to God. Its root word, shuv, occurs nearly 1,000 times in the Hebrew Scriptures and means “to turn around” or “to go in another direction.” Repentance, then, carries a very practical meaning: quit sinning, turn around and start doing good. It is a change in direction, demonstrated by how we live.
The concept of repentance is central to Christ’s teaching and the Gospel. Jesus said in Matthew 4:17, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Teshuvah reaches beyond a change of mind to a change of behavior. It means starting fresh and seeking to do better, accompanied by the realization that we have sinned and that sin is offensive to God. We regret the misdeed, confess it and commit ourselves to changing our behavior. True repentance requires honesty in admitting our faults and weaknesses. God receives sincere repentance from those who seek forgiveness through His Son and truly desire to change. He grants forgiveness, removes the sin and restores fellowship with Him. Volcano eruption leaves 170,000 people stranded, hundreds of flights canceled
|
|
|
According to the BBC and the Associated Press, the volcanic island of Anak Krakatau — located in Indonesia’s Sunda Strait between the Java and Sumatra islands — erupted for 30 seconds just before 4 a.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6. About three hours later, it erupted again for about 16 seconds.
Footage obtained by the outlets showed lava spewing from the volcano, which first started showing signs of activity on Friday, Sept. 4, according to Indonesia’s Geological Agency. Ash drifted from the eruption site to the capital city of Jakarta and Lampung province, located at the southern tip of Sumatra.
No evacuation orders were issued, and no deaths were reported, but authorities warned people in the area to stay at least two miles away from the crater.
The eruption and volcanic ash also caused Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to cancel all of its flights, and several other domestic airports followed suit.
