Trump Issues Back-to-School Letter to America's Kids
|

President Trump issued a back-to-school letter to American students through the Department of Education.
“Welcome back to school! Mrs. Trump and I send our best wishes to you, your families, and your teachers as you begin this new academic year,” the letter says. “The Golden Age of America relies upon your tremendous leadership, commitment, and character. I encourage you to do your best in school each day, ask questions, and never stop learning. Keep dreaming big and working hard, and always remember there is no limit to what you can achieve for yourself and for the United States of America.”
Trump wrote in his letter that he is “fighting every day to strengthen your school, make your community safer, and create new opportunities for your future so you can build your own unique American Dream.” He encouraged students to share their milestones with his administration. “As you reach new milestones this year, Mrs. Trump and I hope you will share them with us,” the letter read. “Write to the White House, and tell us about the projects you are proud of, the lessons you have learned, the success you have in sports, the goals you have set, and the ways you are making a difference in your school and community.”
“I wish you a wonderful school year—work hard, and have fun! May God bless you, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.” The Trump administration has prioritized academic initiatives as part of its agenda. Democrats blink in shutdown fight, hand Trump and GOP win before midterms

The stopgap funding bill punts the federal budget deadline to December, giving lawmakers a deadline to avoid another crisis

House Democrats relented to Republicans in their quest to prevent a government shutdown after spending months raising the possibility ahead of the crucial midterm elections.
Tuesday’s successful vote in the House, the second such attempt since July, means that lawmakers have officially punted funding the government until after the November election and are sending the short-term funding patch, known as a continuing resolution (CR), to President Donald Trump’s desk.
It also marks the end of months of concerns that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., would again shut the government down for political gain as they vie for control of Congress.
Both top Democrats caved on pushing for another shutdown, for now. And that gave House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who needed Democratic votes to pass the bill, a win.
But while House Democrats agreed to support the bipartisan CR that passed the Senate last month, conservatives raged about certain changes that negotiators in the upper chamber wove into the bill.
Senate Republicans were assured by the administration that the push for more control over federal grants could be ready to go by the time the stopgap expires in December. Democrats argue it could be used as a tool to dictate which states do and don't get federal dollars.
Meanwhile, the CR punts the deadline to avert a government shutdown to Dec. 11, giving lawmakers a little over a month to create a new federal budget for fiscal year 2027, which begins Oct. 1. (Read more here)

Two Democrats helped Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., score a commanding victory Tuesday after overcoming a House GOP rebellion to advance a resolution to condemn socialism.
House conservatives had threatened to tank a procedural vote, called a "rule vote," meant to unlock debate on several bills GOP leaders wanted lawmakers to vote on this week.
That rebellion would have been successful if not for two moderate left-wing lawmakers coming to the GOP's rescue. It's almost unheard of for the minority party to help their political rivals pass a rule.
It appears to have blindsided House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., who later told reporters he was not notified beforehand.
Five Republicans voted against the rule, which was poised to fail until Reps. Jared Golden, D-Maine, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Wash., provided two critical votes to get the GOP over the finish line in a narrow 209 to 208 vote.
The five House Republicans who voted against it were Reps. Pete Sessions, R-Texas; Chip Roy, R-Texas; Ralph Norman, R-S.C., Clay Higgins, R-La.; and Andy Harris, R-Md.
Voting on a bill under "suspension" means it gets fast-tracked past multiple procedural hurdles in exchange for raising the threshold for passage from a simple majority to two-thirds. That means the rule vote's survival does not affect whether the CR passes or fails.
A CR is a short-term extension of current federal funding levels. It's normally used to give lawmakers extra time to cobble together a new budget for the next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1. (Fox News) Read more here.

Gary, Indiana, sits on the southern shore of Lake Michigan not too far from where I am on the South Side of Chicago. I know that city well and my Project H.O.O.D. has done many events and good works there.
The one thing everybody knows about Gary is that it is the birthplace of Michael Jackson, a place where one of the biggest stars the world has ever known was forged. In the years before Jackson was born, Blacks moved to Gary from the South to work in the steel mills and many made good livings. But today, Gary sits in the middle of the Rust Belt, and it faces high poverty, widespread vacancy and a long population decline. Its population fell from more than 80,000 in 2010 to an estimated 67,289 in 2025.
Gary is one of those places where the streak of bad luck never seems to run out. I say this with a heavy heart because I know that many people there are good people and they’re trying their best to make some kind of fortune out of their city’s misfortunes. What no one could have predicted is what hit them next — literally.
The weather people on TV call it a derecho. Unlike a tornado that spins in a circle, a derecho consists of winds running straight through with great force. On Aug. 11, a derecho swept through Northwest Indiana, bringing widespread straight-line winds of 70 to more than 100 mph. A 99 mph wind gust was recorded at Gary/Chicago International Airport. Those gusts were comparable to the winds associated with a Category 2 hurricane.
While many of the nearby towns and suburbs felt the derecho, Gary was among the communities hardest hit. I heard from my contacts there that trees that stood for generations had been uprooted and fallen into power lines. The poles holding these lines snapped. The storm brought down trees and power lines across Gary, causing widespread outages. More than 20,000 Gary customers were affected at one point. Within a few hours, it appeared as if nearly everybody in Gary lost power. The city that once powered America’s steel industry was now sitting in darkness.
For nearly two weeks, thousands of Gary residents remained without power. The suffering on the ground was terrible. There was no air conditioning to combat the sweltering heat. Senior citizens who needed breathing machines had to do without. Parents had to take what food they had in their warm fridges and save what they could by cooking the meats at the nearby parks. Some families who were fortunate enough to have generators were soon reporting them stolen. People couldn’t charge their phones and businesses couldn’t stay open. Father God, we ask You to intervene in all places that need Your hand to open doors and to make paths straight. Holy Spirit, send out myriads of angels to speak peace and joy but most of all speak hope into all hearts that are wounded, broken, hopeless and afraid. Jesus, call Your church into the streets of Gary to be Your hands and feet to those worn out and discouraged, those who know You and those who don't. Let Your love flow freely from the hearts and mouths of those You send to minister, let each heart be touched and changed, healed, comforted. Larry Kudlow and Scott Bessent: We Are in An Economic Boom Not Seen in Decades

Fox Business host Larry Kudlow hosted a fireside chat with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on day two of the G20 Finance Ministers meeting in Asheville, North Carolina on Tuesday. Kudlow led off with an extended riff about how the main story should be economic boom not seen in decades and praised Bessent as, “the best, most important wartime treasury secretary since World War II.”
“This boom in large measure is because of President Trump’s policies: The One Big Beautiful Bill, 100 percent expensing, manufacturing growth, employment growth, stock market rally, and profits,” Kudlow said. He also admonished the establishment media in the room which “doesn’t like to talk about the successes of the American economy.”
Bessent built on Kudlow’s opening comments, telling those at the event pavilion the G20 is a growth story.
“Everyone is saying growth is better than they thought it would have been,” Bessent said of comments made in plenary sessions as well as bilateral meetings taking place throughout the day.
He continued: “We are the AI superpower and we are pulling away in global compute. We have the best-performing bond market among major countries in the world. We have regulatory certainty, tax certainty, energy certainty. The U.S. is the world’s energy superpower.”
Bessent cited his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, telling the crowd the precondition for the capital expenditures boom was construction jobs. He added that he believes in data centers as well, calling them great expansion projects. (Breitbart)

1. Netanyahu at Gaza Yellow Line: ‘We are not withdrawing, we are staying’
- Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited a military installation near the Gaza Strip's Yellow Line on Wednesday morning. The Prime Minister was accompanied by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Southern Command Chief Major General Yaniv Asor, and 99th (Bazak) Division Commander Brigadier General Elad Tzuri.
During the visit, Netanyahu was thoroughly briefed by the field commanders. The briefings focused on the IDF forces' operations in the Yellow Line sector, ongoing missions, and efforts to neutralize threats and protect the lives of soldiers and local communities.
"We control the territory. You can see Ashkelon from here; you can see all of our communities in all directions: Sderot, Netivot, and the kibbutzes. We are not withdrawing. We are staying on this line," the Prime Minister declared. (Read more)

2. Israel braces for possible Hezbollah flare-up - Israel Hayom
Israel has increasingly assessed that Iran, backed into a corner by the economic siege against it, will lead an escalation via Hezbollah in the coming weeks.
Security and intelligence officials say the Iranians remain wary of reigniting a full-scale war and are therefore hesitant to strike Israel directly. However, they are expected to activate Hezbollah. The goal is to disrupt daily life, harm holiday events, and derail talks between Israel and the Lebanese government. Hezbollah launched two explosive-laden drones at IDF forces on the Ali al-Taher ridge (a hilltop area in southern Lebanon), though it remains unclear at this stage whether this was a localized incident tied to the IDF's siege on the ridge or an escalation directed by Iran.
Should the escalation scenario materialize, Israel will need to decide how to respond and where, whether against Hezbollah alone, in Dahieh specifically, or perhaps even against Iran, which is directing the effort. (Read more)

3. Riot in West Bank as terrorists throw cinder blocks, stones at IDF soldiers, Israeli civilian - Jerusalem Post
A violent riot broke out against IDF soldiers in the West Bank on Wednesday, the IDF spokesperson announced.
During the riot terrorists threw cinder block and stones at IDF forces. The forces responded by firing at the terrorists, in an attempt to remove the threat.
The IDF soldiers were operating in Al-Mughayyir village in the Ramallah area, working to retrieve livestock belonging to Israeli citizens that had been located in the village, the statement explained. (Read more)

4. Netanyahu claims defense officials intentionally failed to wake him in hours before Oct. 7 attack - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday claimed that senior IDF and defense officials deliberately chose not to wake him hours before Hamas’s October 7, 2023, onslaught because “they knew that, as prime minister of Israel, I would have immediately given the order to put the entire military on alert” and would thereby have prevented the invasion.
The remarks made during an Instagram livestreamand broadcast on Channel 12 were similar to comments he made on a podcast on Monday and on Channel 14 on Sunday night, and mark a shift from Netanyahu’s previous claim that events would have unfolded differently had he been woken up before the attack began. Now, the premier alleged that defense officials intentionallykept him uninformed.
In both the podcast clip Netanyahu posted on Monday and the Sunday Channel 14 interview, the prime minister said that the security chiefs saw multiple signs of an impending attack but were still convinced Hamas was deterred. He alleged that they knew that if they woke him up, he would mobilize the air force and the entire IDF and ensured that anyone who approached the fence from the Gaza side “would be killed immediately.” The security chiefs believed this would have prompted an actual Hamas attack or exchange of fire, Netanyahu claimed, without proof. 5. Winter's condition for Netanyahu - Israel National News
Amcha Yisrael party chairman Brig. Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter declared that his party will recommend Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister, but set a clear condition for joining the government: passage of a national service law requiring all young people to report and contribute, even before the government is sworn in. Winter also addressed criticism sparked by his support for Netanyahu and apologized to those who were disappointed by the announcement.
Winter began by discussing the establishment of the party last week and the presentation of its electoral slate. He described it as “a clean, new, honest, fighting team," and claimed that various parties have been attempting in recent days to harm it through spin, lies and advertisements.
According to Winter, Amcha Yisrael seeks to present an alternative to existing politics and does not represent any particular sector. “We are not sectoral. We are Amcha Yisrael," he said, adding that the members of the slate are united by a desire to work on behalf of the entire public. (Read more)

1. Nonprofit linked to seductive Swalwell honeypot Fang Fang has CCP ties - New York Post
The alleged Chinese spy who seduced ex-Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell met him through a nonprofit accused of Chinese Communist Party ties — which is still placing interns with politicians across the US.
Now-disgraced Swalwell told the FBI he considered glamorous graduate student Fang, whom he first met in 2012 before he took office, as his main point of contact with APAPA, according to declassified FBI files.
Yin, a Chinese-American, is associated with numerous United Front groups, which are arms of the CCP. Between 2013 and 2023, Yin traveled to China to promote tech investment as the “head of the Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Delegation,” where he gave speeches on “perspectives as overseas Chinese in the US,” according to the party-controlled Sichuan Daily News. 2. Bombshell Spanish Police Report Accuses Moroccan Agents of Orchestrating Ceuta Migrant Invasion, Contradicting Sánchez Government - Breitbart
Spain’s National Police has produced a bombshell report accusing agents of the Islamic regime in Morocco of coordinating the illegal migrant invasion of Ceuta despite attempts by the socialist Sánchez government to deflect blame from the Alawite regime in Rabat.
The report was submitted to Judge María Tardón, who is currently investigating how an estimated 80,000 illegals from Morocco were able to storm the Spanish border and enter the exclave city of Ceuta between July 30 and 31. The rolling crisis has continued, with upwards of 9,000 remaining in the city with a population of just 83,000.
The police dossier claimed to have evidence from the National Centre for Immigration and Borders (CENIF) that uniformed Moroccan gendarmes were on the ground at Castillejos, a town across the border from Ceuta, on the day of the invasion, directing the flow of migrants towards the fence which separates the two countries. 3. Sherrill Signs Law Restricting Prayer Near NJ Clinics - Million Voices
New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed a sweeping new abortion law on Aug. 20, and pro-life advocates say it could put praying Christians and sidewalk counselors at risk of criminal charges. The bill, known as S2260/A2218, creates a new crime called “interference with reproductive or gender-affirming health care services.” Sherrill signed it outside a Planned Parenthood location in Montclair.
Supporters say the law protects patients and providers from harassment and out-of-state legal threats. Opponents, including major pro-life organizations, say its vague language could sweep up peaceful prayer and sidewalk counseling along with genuine threats or violence.
The law makes it a crime to purposely inflict or attempt to inflict bodily injury, physically block someone from entering or leaving a facility, damage property, or use force or threats to intimidate or coerce a patient or provider. It also bars filming or sharing video within 100 feet of an abortion facility. Officers can order the immediate dispersal of any gathering that substantially blocks an entrance or driveway during business hours. (Read more) |

4. Federal Pressure Forces Maryland School to Back Parents - Million voices
The Trump administration’s crackdown on school districts accused of hiding students’ gender transitions from parents has already produced a result. Weeks after federal officials threatened Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland with enforcement action, the district changed its policy to make parental rights explicit.
The case began on July 27, when the U.S. Department of Education announced it was partnering with the Department of Justice against two districts: Anne Arundel County in Maryland and Ann Arbor Public Schools in Michigan. Both were accused of violating the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA, the federal law that guarantees parents access to their children’s school records.
Federal officials say Anne Arundel County improperly classified a student’s gender identity as confidential medical information that could not be shared with parents. 5. Judge Sides With Trump in California Pipeline Fight - Million voices
A federal judge ruled this week that a Santa Barbara County oil pipeline can keep operating under federal authority, dealing a setback to California’s yearslong effort to keep it shut down. The Aug. 19 decision affirms the Trump administration’s use of the Defense Production Act to override state objections and restart the pipeline earlier this year.
U.S. District Judge Stephen V. 6. America’s Debt Crosses $40 Trillion Milestone - Million Voices
The United States national debt has crossed $40 trillion, a milestone that arrived faster than almost anyone in Washington predicted just a few years ago. The Treasury Department confirmed the figure last week, and it comes as the federal government is on pace to run a $2.1 trillion budget deficit for the fiscal year that ends in September.
For context, the debt has doubled in less than 10 years. Interest payments on that debt now cost more than the entire national defense budget, a shift that budget experts across the political spectrum say cannot continue indefinitely.
Much of that spending growth is tied to the three largest mandatory programs: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Social Security spending rose 5% due to higher benefit payments and a growing number of beneficiaries, while Medicare costs climbed 8% on higher enrollment. Stupidocrisy: Democrats’ Growing Deadly Love Affair with Socialism

A recent CBS/YouGov poll reveals a troubling trend toward socialism in America, led by a dramatic ideological shift within the Democratic Party. The survey of 2,287 adults August 12–14 found that Americans overall still view capitalism more favorably than socialism, 46% to 35%. But among Democrats, the numbers are far more pronounced: 59% view socialism positively, while only 32% view capitalism positively. Some 71% of college-educated Democrats view socialism favorably, and Half of Democrats also view the label “democratic socialist” positively. These numbers suggest something larger than a political fringe. Socialism is gaining acceptance, and the Democratic Party is increasingly becoming its political home.
The poll reveals that many believe buying a home, raising a family and achieving financial security are harder than they were for the previous generation. Most describe the current economic system as unfair. When respondents described socialism themselves, Republicans and independents commonly associated it with government control or ownership, while Democrats tended to associate it with equality, fairness and public services. Democrats are judging socialism by its promised outcomes rather than the governmental power required to produce them. Even more revealing, Democrats told pollsters socialism would improve their personal finances while capitalism makes them worse. EXCLUSIVE: The White House and Department of Homeland Security are pushing back on "false narratives" being advanced by the mainstream media and bringing the receipts after the Washington Post and New York Times reported that noncriminal ICE arrests are skyrocketing under President Donald Trump.
The Washington Post reported last week that ICE is arresting "soaring numbers" of "noncriminal" illegal immigrants. The outlet said the agency had "detained more people without a criminal record this year than in all of 2025." The New York Times took a similar line, reporting that "ICE arrests soar as people with no criminal record are increasingly targeted."
However, Lauren Bis, a special assistant to the president and White House spokeswoman, told Fox News Digital that though "nearly 70% of illegal aliens arrested by ICE have been convicted or charged with a crime in the United States," the "actual arrests of public safety threats and criminals is much higher." This, she said, is due to many of the "noncriminal" illegal immigrants arrested by ICE having prior criminal history in their home country, including murder, child sex abuse and gang activity.

We pray that You would silence the mainstream media as they continue to peddle false narratives protecting the criminal illegal aliens. Father, we thank You that DHS has provided many examples of how many illegals have serious criminal records in their countries from which they came and have arrested them before they target the citizens of the United States.
We pray for continued wisdom and discernment for the DHS and ICE as they continue to remove those who seek to do us harm and deport them back to their own countries. Lord, remove every gang member that is on American soil before another life is taken by addictions to illegal drugs.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin detailed the arrest of thousands of individuals in New York considered to be public safety threats during a press conference Tuesday announcing the success of the federal Operation Rotten Apple.
During the announcement, Mullin blasted New York's leadership, including Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York City's democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani, for working against law enforcement.
"Operation Rotten Apple was initiated because New York City has a liberal, socialist mayor who, instead of working with law enforcement, tried to cut NYPD's budget by $22 million and refused to cooperate with federal law enforcement. You also have a governor who refuses to work with us. Over the last 30 days, Operation Rotten Apple has taken over 2,100 of the worst criminals off our streets statewide," Mullin said.
Mullin specifically cited the cases of three foreign nationals, each with violent criminal histories.
One arrestee was a 39year-old Indian national with an International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) red notice out on him for an alleged rape he was charged with in Germany, Mullin relayed.
Another, a 50-year-old Ukrainian citizen, has a lengthy criminal history that includes convictions for kidnapping, abduction, possession of a weapon and murder, Mullin said.
Mullin said the individuals were roaming New York's streets because of the city and state's sanctuary policies.
"These individuals should never have been on our streets. While radical-left sanctuary states protect illegal immigrants, the Trump administration and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers are out there every day protecting Americans," he said. (Fox News) Read more here.

Tropical Storm Edouard makes landfall near Texas, Louisiana border with flooding rain and gusty winds

Edward will press inland producing heavy rain, gusty winds and the risk of flooding and tornadoes in parts of eastern Texas and southwestsern Louisiana into midweek.

With Eduard slowly pressing inland, strong winds and storm surge along the upper Texas and Louisiana coasts will ease, but rainfall in parts of eastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana will ramp up into midweek.
A tropical storm warning is in effect from Port Bolivar, Texas, to the Vermilion/Cameron Parish Line in Louisiana.
Edouard strengthened a bit Tuesday morning and made landfall as a 60-mph tropical storm just east the mouth of the Sabine River in the southwest corner of Louisiana. Multiple spiral bands containing torrential rain and strong wind gusts were evident.

Plaskett Fire overtakes Timber Fire in size; over 50,000 acres burned in Big Sur

Two wildfires burning in California's Big Sur region have burned more than 52,000 acres, officials said, as the fast-moving Plaskett Fire has now overtaken the Timber Fire in size.
According to Cal Fire, the fires are the two largest burning in the state as of Tuesday. The combined acreage burned is more than 78 square miles, an area larger than the city of Oakland.
"Aggressive Growth" on Plaskett Fire
Cal Fire officials said the Plaskett Fire burning in far southern Monterey County burned 28,784 acres as of about 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, up from 15,479 acres on Monday morning and 8,241 acres on Sunday morning. Containment remains at 1%.
"The fire continued aggressive growth during the previous operational period, primarily along the eastern perimeter as it pushes into Fort Hunter Liggett. Steep terrain and heavy fuels continue to drive fire behavior," officials said in a Tuesday morning update.
In a statement on Monday, officials said the fire reached areas that had not burned in more than 50 years.
The fire, burning in far southern Monterey County east of the community of Plaskett, was first reported on the morning of August 26. The cause of the fire is under investigation. (CBS News) Read More
