Iran closes Strait of Hormuz again, says US violated ceasefire
|
|
|
Tensions in the Persian Gulf reached a new peak on Saturday when the naval arm of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the "complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic."
In an official statement published by the Tasnim news agency, Iran said the move was taken in response to what it called a US violation of the ceasefire terms and Washington's failure to lift the naval blockade on Iranian ports.
Iranian officials made clear that, as of Saturday, all ship movement in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman toward the strait is prohibited. The statement said any vessel violating the directive would be considered to be cooperating with the enemy and would become a target for attack.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf addressed the situation, saying, "Control of the strait is in our hands. It is impossible for others to pass through the strait while we cannot. If the US does not lift the blockade, traffic will be permanently restricted." (Israel Hayom) Read more here.

‘No More Mr Nice Guy!’ Trump Tells Iran to Take Deal or U.S. Will Bomb ‘Every Single’ Bridge and Power Plant

President Donald Trump has warned the Islamist regime in Tehran that if it refuses to accept his deal, the United States will once again start to bomb the country, including “every single” bridge and power plant.
U.S. peace negotiators head back to Islamabad, Pakistan, for further talks on Monday, President Trump said, as the end of the two-week ceasefire looms over the conflict with Iran.
The U.S. leader accused Tehran of a “total violation” of the ceasefire agreement by attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, just hours after publicly agreeing to leave the critical waterway open. According to President Trump, Iranian forces attacked a French ship and a freighter from the United Kingdom.
However, the president downplayed the impact of the violence, saying that ultimately Iran was helping the United States by driving ships toward America to purchase fuel.
“They’re helping us without knowing, and they are the ones that lose with the closed passage, $500 Million Dollars a day! The United States loses nothing. In fact, many Ships are headed, right now, to the U.S., Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska, to load up, compliments of the IRGC, always wanting to be ‘the tough guy!'” he wrote on Truth Social.
President Trump said that the United States is offering Iran a “very fair and reasonable deal”, which would include the rogue regime handing over its stockpiles of enriched uranium, a demand that Tehran has so far refused to consider.
“I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! They’ll come down fast, they’ll come down easy and, if they don’t take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done, which should have been done to Iran, by other Presidents, for the last 47 years,” President Trump wrote of the prospective peace deal.

Virginia’s redistricting vote ‘a critical step’ for the swing state
|

Nearly three months to the day after his term as Virginia’s governor ended, Republican Glenn Youngkin stood in an unshaded corner of an office parking lot to warn dozens of conservative activists that they were in the midst of “the most important election” in the commonwealth’s 237-year history.
The question before the voters casting ballots at an early voting precinct a few yards away in the city of Leesburg ahead of Tuesday’s special election was whether to temporarily set aside Virginia’s congressional maps intended to advantage neither party and replace them with a new version that could allow Democrats to win all but one seat in the 11-member delegation in the November midterm elections.
“They want to override the voice of Virginia and push us into what is now being called the most partisan, most gerrymandered map in America, worse than Illinois, worse than California,” Youngkin warned.
Left unmentioned by the former governor was the role of Donald Trump, who instigated the nationwide redistricting war last year in an effort to preserve Republican control of Congress for the entirety of his second term, sparking a tit-for-tat between red and blue states that will see its latest skirmish decided on Tuesday, when polls close in Virginia’s redistricting referendum.
The question seems to have divided voters in the commonwealth, just five months after they overwhelmingly elected a Democratic governor, Abigail Spanberger, and gave her allies a sizable majority in the legislature’s lower house. Polls have shown a narrow lead for the side in favor of redistricting, as demands to combat Trump and his allies nationally collide with Virginia’s own political dynamics.
“Virginia remains a purplish state. It often swings from D to R and vice versa. That could happen again,” said Mark Rozell, dean of George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government. (The Guardian) Read more here.

Israeli military publishes map of south Lebanon territory under its control
|
|
|
Israel on Monday told residents of south Lebanon to stay out of a belt of territory at the border and not to approach the area of the Litani River, entrenching its grip over southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire in the war with Hezbollah.
The U.S.-mediated, 10-day ceasefire took effect on Thursday, largely halting the war between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah that spiralled out of the conflict between the United States and Iran.
But it remains fragile, with Israeli troops occupying territory deep in the south, aiming to create a buffer zone to shield northern Israel from Hezbollah attack, while the group says it maintains the "right to resist" Israeli occupation.
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri told the pan-Arab Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that Washington was making an effort to extend the ceasefire agreed by the Israeli and Lebanese governments, after he met the U.S. ambassador to Lebanon.
Following the highest level contacts in decades between Israel and Lebanon last week, a U.S. State Department spokesperson said Washington would host a second round of ambassador-level talks between Lebanon and Israel on Thursday. Hezbollah strongly opposes the contacts.
The Israeli military published for the first time a map of its new deployment line inside Lebanon on Sunday, bringing dozens of mostly abandoned Lebanese villages under its control, days after a ceasefire with Hezbollah took effect.
There was no immediate comment from Lebanese officials or from Iran-backed Hezbollah. Israel and Lebanon agreed on Thursday to a U.S.-backed ceasefire in fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. (Reuters) Read more here. |

The flags at the Knesset plaza were lowered this evening in the presence of Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, Knesset Sergeant-at-Arms Superintendent Yuval Chen, and the Knesset Guard.
Immediately afterward, the Speaker lit the memorial candle together with two bereaved families-the Makhteyev family and the father of Staff Sergeant Amit Friedman, of blessed memory.
Asaf Friedman, director of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and father of Staff Sergeant Amit Friedman, of blessed memory, shared his son’s story: “Amit was our middle child. 2. Israel reveals Iran's secret Unit 4000 - Israel Hayom
The Mossad, the IDF and the Shin Bet security revealed Unit 4000, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' covert terrorism apparatus, which was tasked with targeting senior Israeli officials and strategic infrastructure around the world.
The disclosure comes against the backdrop of a series of Israeli Air Force strikes during Operation Roaring Lion, which led to the killing of senior figures and key operatives in the covert network.
Several weeks ago, a terrorist infrastructure was foiled in Azerbaijan that had been advancing plans to strike a strategic target, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline running through Georgia and Turkey, as well as several Jewish targets and institutions in the country, including the Israeli Embassy, a synagogue in Baku and leaders of the Jewish community.
Members of the operational cell were arrested by Azerbaijani authorities with explosive drones and fragmentation charges they had smuggled into the country. To carry out the planned attacks, the cell gathered intelligence on the targets using a range of methods, including physical surveillance and photography. 3. Israel Exposes Iranian Terror Network as IRGC-Linked Cells Expand Attacks Across Europe - Algemeiner
Israel has exposed a far-reaching Iranian-backed terrorist network targeting Israeli officials and overseas assets, as the Islamist regime intensifies a widening campaign of attacks against Jewish and Israeli targets across Europe through proxy groups.
On Monday, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency the Mossad, the Israel Defense Forces, and the country’s domestic security agency the Shin Bet released a joint statement confirming that authorities had uncovered and dismantled an Iranian-backed network after several of its members were arrested in Azerbaijan last month.
Following the onset of the US-Israeli war against Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the regime’s elite military force responsible for overseas terrorist operations and the coordination of proxy groups, has escalated efforts to establish cells abroad and carry out attacks, widening what officials describe as a sustained campaign of destabilization beyond the Middle East.
According to Israeli intelligence, members of the cell had smuggled explosive drones into Azerbaijan while gathering intelligence on potential targets under direct instructions from Iranian operatives as part of an organized effort to lay the groundwork for planned attacks. (Read more)

4. Israeli soldiers find explosives in Palestinian school in Judea - JNS
Israeli security forces on Sunday discovered explosive devices inside a Palestinian school in the town of Beit Ummar in Judea, the Israel Defense Forces said on Monday.
“Approximately two weeks ago, two terrorists hurled explosives and Molotov cocktails toward the community of Carmei Tzur. No injuries were reported,” according to the military statement.
In the wake of the attack, security forces apprehended the suspects, who were taken for questioning by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), it noted.
Following the interrogation of the terrorists, IDF troops and Israel Border Police officers “located and dismantled an explosives cache concealed in a school in Beit Ummar.”

An image showing an IDF soldier in uniform smashing a statue of Jesus in southern Lebanon spread rapidly online on Sunday afternoon, drawing condemnations across social media.
The IDF said that it would investigate, confirming on Sunday evening that the image was genuine. On Monday, the military confirmed that it had identified and located the soldier in question.
"The IDF views the incident with great severity and emphasizes that the soldier’s conduct is wholly inconsistent with the values expected of its troops," the military said following its confirmation.
"The incident is being investigated by the Northern Command and is currently being addressed through the chain of command. Appropriate measures will be taken against those involved in accordance with the findings," the military added. (Read more)

President Trump told reporters on Thursday that he held a meeting on unconfirmed reports of missing nuclear scientists. “I just left a meeting on that subject,” Trump told reporters, referring to it as “pretty serious stuff.” “I hope it’s random, but we’re going to know in the next week and a half,” Trump said, saying “some of them were very important people.”
Trump’s comments come after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt suggested on Wednesday at a White House press briefing that the administration could investigate the matter.

2. Meet the new power players raising massive money for the midterms - POLITICO
A new class of players is gearing up to spend big money in the midterms, cutting across partisan lines and disrupting both the primary and general election landscapes.
And many of them didn’t even exist until recently.
New campaign finance reports reveal the explosive growth of a motley group of moneyed interests — including artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency and sports betting companies — that have collectively stockpiled hundreds of millions of dollars to influence who is elected to Congress this year.
These groups have already become among the biggest super PACs in the country — in just a few years or even months. A pro-AI super PAC that launched in August has nearly as much cash as some party-affiliated groups that have long dominated congressional races. 3. The Chinese cyber-attack that could have stolen data from every American - BBC
In 2024, reports emerged of a highly sophisticated cyber espionage campaign against US telecoms companies, which some analysts believe went all the way up to the Chinese government.
The group behind this campaign would later be codenamed Salt Typhoon, and it is believed to have quietly infiltrated critical US telecoms infrastructure in order to collect private information on influential Americans – including presidential candidates. In the process, it may have also swept up data from millions of ordinary Americans. The Chinese government has denied responsibility for Salt Typhoon.

4. UK police search near Israel’s London Embassy after threat of drone attack with ‘dangerous substances’ - Times of Israel
British police said on Friday they were investigating a security incident near the Israeli Embassy in London after a terror group reported online that it had targeted the premises with drones carrying “dangerous substances.”
London’s Metropolitan Police officers were seen wearing protective clothing while searching a park near Israel’s Embassy for suspicious objects, with the Foreign Ministry stressing that all embassy workers were safe and that the embassy was not attacked.
“There is an increased police presence in Kensington Gardens and officers are assessing a number of discarded items,” said Scotland Yard, calling the protective suits a “precaution.”
“We do not believe there to be any increased public safety risk at this stage,” the Metropolitan Police continued. (Read more)

5. The new 'yellow line' in southern Lebanon - IsraelNationalNews
Since the ceasefire came into effect, IDF soldiers south of the "yellow line" in southern Lebanon have identified in several incidents in which terrorists violated the ceasefire understandings by approaching from north of the yellow line toward IDF soldiers, posing an immediate threat.
Following their identification, and in order to remove the threat, the Israeli Air Force, together with ground forces, conducted precise strikes against the terrorists.
Artillery fire was carried out in support of the ground troops operating in the area, and terrorist infrastructure sites used to facilitate attacks were struck in response to the threats.
Earlier on Saturday, IDF soldiers identified a terrorist cell that violated the ceasefire understandings and approached IDF soldiers operating south of the ''yellow line" in southern Lebanon, a defense line dedicated to preventing an imminent threat to Israel’s northern communities.
The approaching terrorists posed a threat to the troops.
In a rapid operational response, aimed at removing the threat, the Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated the terrorists. (Read more)

6. Iranian official: We are giving ‘priority’ to ships that pay Hormuz fee - Times of Israel
Iran will “give priority” to vessels paying a toll to transit the Strait of Hormuz, a senior Iranian official tells CNN.
“Given the limitation on the number of vessels that will be allowed to pass,” the official tells the US outlet, “Iran has decided to give priority to those vessels that respond more quickly to the new Strait of Hormuz protocols and pay the costs of security and safety services.”
Those who do not pay will have their transit “postponed,” says the official.

From Decay to Deliverance

Tazria (She Conceives) Leviticus 12:1-13:59, and Metzorah (Person Afflicted With Tzara’at) Leviticus14:-15:33, take us into territory most people would rather avoid, the realities of disease, decay, and separation. At the center of these passages is a clear distinction between what is clean and unclean, what belongs in the presence of God and what cannot remain there. The priest’s role was not merely ceremonial, it was deeply spiritual, guarding access to the sacred. The message: God’s presence represents life, purity, and incorruptibility. Anything associated with decay, death, or disorder stands in direct opposition to that reality. This speaks to the condition of the human heart today as much as it did then.
Tzara’at, often translated “leprosy,” is nothing like the disease leprosy because it can also affect clothing and houses. The sages see the affliction of tzara’at as a punishment for lashon hara, “evil tongue.” There is a prohibition in scripture for gossip in Leviticus 19:16, but Maimonides, a foremost Jewish rabbi defined it as a greater sin than gossip. “It is the 'evil tongue,' which refers to whoever speaks despairingly of his fellow, even if it is truth.” Tzara’at is the example of all human disease, the sickness causes the breakdown of the flesh and can lead to death. Sickness, decay, and death have no place in God’s presence, that is why the person with tzara’at is separated from the camp. The Sanctuary on earth is a reflection of the heavenly Sanctuary, and death and corruption separates us from the Presence of God. Read More

Clarence Thomas Lambasts Progressivism as a Threat to America’s Founding Principles
|

|
One of the U.S. Supreme Court’s most stalwart conservative voices is warning that progressive ideology is incompatible with America’s founding principles and poses an existential threat to the nation’s continued existence. Justice Clarence Thomas spoke at the University of Texas Austin Law School on Wednesday, hailing the school’s upcoming program focused on civics and the history of Western civilization. “Your plans could not come at a more important moment for our nation when, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the very values announced in it have fallen out of favor,” Thomas told leaders, teachers, and students of the law school.
“As we meet today, it is unclear whether these principles will endure. At the beginning of the 20th century, a new set of first principles of government was introduced into the American mainstream,” Thomas said, recalling that President Woodrow Wilson, who was a “prominent proponent” of these principles, named them progressivism and derived them from a secular, European mode of governance. “Since Wilson’s presidency, progressivism has made many inroads into our system of government and our way of life. It has co-existed uneasily with the principles of the Declaration, because it is opposed to those principles.”
“It is not possible for the two to coexist forever,” the Supreme Court justice warned. “Progressivism was the first mainstream American political movement, with the possible exception of the pro-slavery reactionaries on the eve of the Civil War, to openly oppose the principles of the Declaration. Progressives strove to undo the Declaration’s commitment to equality and natural rights, both of which they denied were self-evident,” he said.
Singling out Wilson as a historical villain, Thomas recounted that progressives harbored (and still do harbor today) “contempt” for Americans and the principles of America’s founding. “The European system that Wilson and the progressives scolded Americans for not adopting, which he called ‘nearly perfect,’ led to the governments that caused the most awful century that the world has ever seen,” Thomas observed. “Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, and Mao all were intertwined with the rise of progressivism, and all were opposed to the natural rights on which our Declaration [is] based.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

Trump Nominates New CDC Director
|

|
President Donald Trump on Thursday nominated Dr. Erica Schwartz, a former deputy surgeon general in his first administration, to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), marking his latest effort to stabilize leadership at the agency after months of turnover.
“It is my Honor to nominate the incredibly talented Dr. Erica Schwartz, MD, JD, MPH, as my Director of the CDC,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, praising her medical background and prior government service. “She is a STAR!”
Schwartz, a Brown University graduate who trained in both college and medical school there, previously served as a physician in the U.S. military before joining Trump’s first administration as deputy surgeon general. Her nomination makes her the fourth individual tapped to lead the CDC since last summer, underscoring ongoing instability at the agency’s top post.
Alongside Schwartz’s nomination, Trump announced a broader slate of public health appointments aimed at reshaping federal health leadership. Presidential Message Commemorating 250 Years of the Bible in America
|

This week, I send my best wishes to every citizen gathered at the Museum of the Bible, on the National Mall, and all across our country participating in America Reads the Bible, a historic initiative in which nearly 500 Americans will take part in a public reading, over the course of one week, of the entire Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—to celebrate 250 years of the Bible in America.
From Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the New World and the first permanent English-speaking settlement at Jamestown to our founding in 1776 and to the present day, the Bible has been indelibly woven into our national identity and way of life. Nearly 400 years ago, a decade after the arrival of the Mayflower, the legendary John Winthrop powerfully invoked Jesus Christ’s Sermon on the Mount as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew: “We must consider that we shall be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us,” Winthrop said, imploring his fellow Christian settlers to stand as a beacon of faith for all the world to see.

In the decades that followed, the truths of Holy Scripture remained deeply embedded in our culture—not only within the walls of our churches but in our homes, schools, courtrooms, and public square. Nearly 150 years after Winthrop’s storied sermon, on July 4, 1776, our Founders echoed Holy Scripture in the central animating principle of the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Today, during our 250th year of American independence, the America Reads the Bible initiative invites all citizens to once again acknowledge our Nation’s extraordinary Biblical foundations and to give thanks for the countless ways in which God has been the sacred source of our unity and national strength. This one-week event, during which leaders in faith, Government, business, and entertainment will read every verse and chapter of the Bible, will inspire countless citizens to rediscover the Biblical truths that have animated our Republic for two and a half centuries and to pray that the Bible will continue to guide us—as individuals, as a people, and as a Nation—for the next 250 years and beyond.
I applaud every citizen participating in the America Reads the Bible initiative. Together, we will honor Holy Scripture, renew our faith, usher in a historic resurgence of religion on American shores, and rededicate the United States as one Nation under God. (The White House) Read more here.

Iran Is Learning The Hard Way… Nothing Can Thwart God’s Promises To The Nation Of Israel

A little over ten years ago, then–Secretary of State John Kerry said out loud what much of the media had kept remarkably quiet. He said that Hezbollah, the Shiite Muslim terror group that had dominated the nation of Lebanon for decades, possessed an arsenal of 80,000 rockets and ballistic missiles, mostly supplied by Iran.
By then, Israeli intelligence estimated that Hezbollah actually had 100,000 missiles — all aimed at Israel. During the years that followed, Iran upgraded Hezbollah’s missile cache both in quantity and quality. By the time of the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023, Hezbollah’s stockpile of missiles and rockets exceeded 150,000. That’s more ballistic missiles than any NATO nation in Europe has in its arsenal.
As October 7, 2023 dawned, Iran had Israel surrounded. Iran controlled Hezbollah, and Hezbollah controlled Lebanon on Israel’s north. Iran directed Syria on Israel’s northeast. Iran gave arms to, and held the loyalty of, Iraq’s massive Shiite militias to Israel’s east. Yemen’s Houthi rebels were over a thousand miles to Israel’s south, but with sophisticated Iranian missiles and drones, they made their presence felt. Palestinian terrorists carried out an ongoing campaign against Israel from Judea and Samaria (also known as the West Bank). Hamas controlled Gaza to Israel’s west. As Sunni Muslims, Hamas did not hold religious loyalty to Shiite Iran, but it shared Iran’s goal of annihilating Israel and Jews from the face of the earth. Also, Hamas liked Iran’s money and weapons.
Iran, the puppet master, stood a thousand miles away — directing it all. It supplied money, training, intelligence, and strategic direction. They chanted, “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.” These were not mere political slogans, but expressions of religious creed. Most people in the West do not know how powerful religious devotion can be, but they should know it can be deadly on a vast scale when it centers on hate. (Harbinger Daily)
