FBI Raids 'Quality Learning Center' and 21 Other Locations in Somali Fraud Crackdown
|

|
According to Fox News, Quality Learning Center, a supposed daycare facility spotlighted by independent journalist Nick Shirley in December, was among 22 businesses targeted by the FBI and local authorities. “Today the FBI with federal, state and local law enforcement is involved in court-authorized law enforcement activity as part of an ongoing fraud investigation,” a Department of Justice representative said in a statement, Fox reported.
According to CBS News, another site Shirley highlighted, The Mini Childcare Center in South Minneapolis, was swarmed by FBI agents about 6 a.m. “One agent was taking photos while another was seen walking a large portable file case inside,” the network reported. The raids largely targeted businesses owned by Somalis, according to Fox.
No arrests were made Tuesday, according to CBS, but the raids represent a significant development in the fraud scandal that’s enveloped Minnesota — and forced Democratic Gov. Tim Walz to abandon his plans to seek election to a third term. And they drew national attention back to the North Star State. According to CBS, 92 defendants have been charged in Minnesota fraud investigations since 2021, with 67 convictions. (Western Journal) Read more

Trump Rules Out Nuclear Weapons in Iran Conflict
|

|
President Trump recently made clear statements regarding the ongoing military and diplomatic situation with Iran. During a recent press event at the White House, he addressed questions about his administration’s nuclear weapons policy. He explicitly ruled out the use of nuclear weapons in the current conflict.
Trump stated that there is no need to deploy nuclear arms against Iran. He noted that the United States military has already decimated its targets using conventional methods. When asked about a potential nuclear strike, he called the question “stupid.”
“No, I wouldn’t use it,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. He added that a nuclear weapon should never be allowed to be used by anybody. This statement clarified his official stance on the nation’s nuclear weapons policy.
The president emphasized that the goal is to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb. He stated that the United States wants to ensure Iran cannot threaten American cities or the Middle East. US Objects as UN Appoints Iran as Vice President of Nuclear Non-Proliferation Conference
|

he United States objected strongly after Iran was selected as one of the 34 vice presidents of the United Nations Nonproliferation Treaty conference on April 27.
Iran was a candidate proposed by the Non-Aligned Movement, made up of 121 developing countries, most of which are in Africa and Asia.
The conference, held every five years since 1970, involves all 191 parties to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) reviewing its implementation.
Under the terms of the NPT, Iran is obliged to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a U.N. agency, but it has not given IAEA inspectors access to nuclear sites since they were bombed by the United States in June 2025.
Christopher Yeaw, U.S. assistant secretary of state for arms control and nonproliferation, said it was “indisputable that Iran has long demonstrated its contempt for the non-proliferation commitments of the NPT.”
“Rather than choosing to use this review conference to defend the integrity of the NPT and call Iran to account, we instead elect Iran a vice president,” Yeaw said. “It is beyond shameful and an embarrassment to the credibility of this conference.” (The Epoch Times)

Abba, the United Nations is again showing its complete contempt for honesty and truth by allowing Iran to be given one of the vice presidents seats at their Nonproliferation Treaty conference. Father God, we ask You to raise up righteous indignation in the hearts of believing leaders who can see the hand of the enemy releasing such disrespect, humiliation and contempt for the heart of what the NPT was to do. BREAKING: Supreme Court Rules 6-3 That Drawing Congressional Districts Based on Race is Unconstitutional
|

The Supreme Court issued a major redistricting ruling on Wednesday morning. In a 6-3 decision, the court struck down Louisiana’s new congressional map. The majority found the map amounted to what it called unconstitutional “racial gerrymandering.”
According to Shawn Fleetwood of The Federalist, the majority opinion was written by Associate Justice Samuel Alito. Fleetwood reported the decision in a post on X.
“In a 6-3 decision, SCOTUS rules that Louisiana’s creation of a second black-majority district is ‘an unconstitutional racial gerrymander,'” Fleetwood wrote. “Majority opinion by Alito.”
Alito wrote, “Another problem stemmed from the long-unresolved question whether compliance with the Voting Rights Act provides a compelling reason that may justify the intentional use of race in drawing legislative districts.”

King Charles Highlights History, Partnership Between US and UK in Address to Congress
|

King Charles III, during an April 28 address to Congress, highlighted the enduring relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom, emphasizing its deep historical roots and shared values.
“Standing here today, it is hard not to feel the weight of history on my shoulder because the modern relationship between our two nations and our own peoples spans not merely 250 years, but over four centuries,” he said.
The king’s roughly 35-minute speech comes as the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary in July.
He opened by addressing the recent shooting near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 25, expressing solidarity with the American people.
“We meet, too, in the aftermath of the incident not far from this great building that sought to harm the leadership of your nation and to foment wider fear and discord,” he said. “Let me say with unshakable resolve, such acts of violence will never succeed.”
Charles also expressed his respect for Congress, noting that his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, addressed a joint session in 1991.
Throughout his speech, the monarch underscored the shared democratic foundations of the two nations—even when those principles once divided them.
“As I look back across the centuries ... there emerge certain patterns, certain self-evident truths from which we can learn and draw mutual strength with a spirit of 1776, in our minds, we can perhaps agree that we do not always agree, at least in the first instance,” he said.
He pointed to the principle of “no taxation without representation” as both a historic source of conflict and a shared democratic ideal rooted in British political tradition.
Charles said the U.S.–UK relationship evolved out of disagreement.
“Ours is a partnership born out of dispute, but no less strong for it. So perhaps in this example, we can discern that our nations are, in fact, instinctively, like-minded, a product of the common democratic, legal, and social traditions in which our governance is rooted,” he said.

1. Israel's ultimatum to Trump on Lebanon deal - Israel National News
Channel 12 News reported on Wednesday that Israel’s political echelon has conveyed to the United States that it is requesting that negotiations with the Lebanese government be limited to a strict two-to-three-week period, with the goal of reaching a final agreement by mid-May.
Jerusalem argues that Hezbollah’s continued attacks - including the launching of attack drones and firing toward IDF forces and northern communities - are “eroding" the chances of reaching an agreement.
The Israeli position holds that the current situation, in which the IDF is operating under severe restrictions, is severely damaging both Israel’s deterrence and the security of its residents. (Read more)

2. IDF chief says there’s ‘no ceasefire’ in south Lebanon amid continued fighting with Hezbollah - Times of Israel
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said during a visit to troops posted in southern Lebanon on Wednesday that there “is no ceasefire,” as Israel and Hezbollah continued to exchange fire despite a truce that’s been in place for almost two weeks.
Zamir’s comments came amid a reported push from Jerusalem to get the US to limit its historic direct talks with the Lebanese government to a two-week timeframe, and to sign off on a large-scale IDF campaign against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese terror group, if the talks fail.
The US-mediated ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, which started on April 17, was extended on April 24 for an additional three weeks, US President Donald Trump announced at the time. His announcement came as Israeli and Lebanese diplomats met for US-brokered talks. (Read more)

3. Israeli navy intercepts Gaza-bound flotilla in international waters

Israeli naval forces began taking control of a large flotilla bound for Gaza on Wednesday, intercepting the vessels hundreds of kilometers from Israel’s coast, according to Israeli officials.
A senior Israeli source confirmed the navy initiated the operation in international waters near Crete, marking one of the farthest such actions to date since the start of the war.
Organizers of the flotilla, which reportedly includes around 100 vessels and some 1,000 activists, said multiple Israeli military boats approached at high speed, identified themselves, and ordered participants to move to the front of the ships and raise their hands.
“They pointed lasers and weapons at us,” organizers said in a statement, adding that communications systems aboard the vessels were being disrupted. (Read more)

4. IDF slays top Hamas intelligence operative in northern Gaza strike - JNS
The Israel Defense Forces, in an airstrike in northern Gaza on Tuesday, eliminated the head of the operations department in Hamas’s intelligence headquarters, the military said on Wednesday.
Terrorist Iyad Ahmed Abd al-Rahman Shambari took an “active part” in planning the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre in southern Israel, according to the IDF.
In addition, Shambari was responsible for compiling Hamas’s “operational situational assessment” of the entire Strip in recent years, it said.
The terrorist was said to have served as a “key figure” tasked with gathering intelligence on Israeli soldiers “in order to direct and execute attack plans.” He posed an immediate threat to troops, the IDF added. (Read more)

Israel risks a diplomatic and legal response from Kyiv if it allows a vessel carrying grain from Russian-occupied Ukraine to dock at the port of Haifa, a Ukrainian diplomatic source tells Reuters.
The Haaretz newspaper reported that the vessel Panormitis, which it said was carrying grain from occupied Ukrainian territory that Kyiv regards as stolen, was waiting for permission to berth in Haifa.

Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino revealed he found a "mother lode" of documents tied to the "Russiagate" investigation that he alleges were meant to be destroyed.

A Canadian judge has halted the deportation of an Indian trucker who killed 16 members of a junior ice hockey team over fears for his mental wellbeing.
Justice Jocelyne Gagné granted a temporary stay of deportation for Jaskirat Singh Sidhu just three days before he was scheduled to return to India this week.

What’s striking is not just the content of these newer disclosures, but how closely they mirror concerns raised 7 years ago in The Daily Jot. Back then, the argument was simple, the impeachment effort appeared politically driven, built on secondhand claims, and amplified by a media ecosystem that showed little appetite for skepticism. North Carolina Finds 34K Dead People on State Voter Rolls

Roughly 34,000 deceased people were discovered to still be on voter rolls in North Carolina, the North Carolina State Board of Elections announced.
The North Carolina State Board of Elections found the thousands of dead individuals during its “ongoing effort to verify” voters United States citizenship, according to ABC11 News. In a statement, Sam Hayes, who serves as the executive director for NC’s State Board of Elections, expressed that the number was “higher” than they had “anticipated.”
“While we expected to find some cases, this is higher than we anticipated,” Hayes said in a statement. “The benefit of entering into cross-state and federal database checks is that it allows us to uncover issues like this. Our goal is to use every available and legal tool at our disposal to achieve the most accurate voter rolls possible.”
In a post on X, Rep. Mark Harris (R-NC) expressed that the more than 30,000 deceased people on the voter rolls was “a failure,” and added that “election integrity is non-negotiable.” Harris also called for the passage of the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

Kagan's dissent warns the decision 'renders Section 2 all but dead letter' for minority voting protections
|

Justice Clarence Thomas said Wednesday the Supreme Court should go further than its latest Voting Rights Act ruling, arguing the law’s key anti-discrimination provision was divisive and should never apply to redistricting cases.
"As I explained more than 30 years ago, I would go further and hold that [section two] of the Voting Rights Act does not regulate districting at all," Thomas, who was joined by Justice Neil Gorsuch, wrote in a concurrence.
Thomas' remarks came as part of the Supreme Court's 6-3 decision in Louisiana v. Callais, which upheld a finding that one of the state’s majority-Black congressional districts was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander.
The decision had broad implications, serving to narrow section two of the Voting Rights Act, a civil rights-era law making it illegal for voting policies to discriminate based on race. The ruling already makes it more difficult for states to justify using race when drawing majority-minority districts, but Thomas' concurrence went further, saying the statute should not be used for redistricting under any circumstances.
"Today’s decision should largely put an end to this 'disastrous misadventure' in voting-rights jurisprudence," Thomas wrote, quoting himself from a 1994 concurrence.
Thomas argued the high court's prior interpretations of section two of the Voting Rights Act have encouraged states to engage in discriminatory race-based map drawing. He said the text of section two covers access to ballots and voting procedures, not how states draw district lines, and that it should therefore not be used in lawsuits about maps. (Fox News)

Trump Takes Action to Pay TSA Agents amid Democrat DHS Shutdown

President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Friday to pay Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents as checkpoint lines at airports have spiked amid the Democrats’ shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security.
Trump directed DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget Russ Vought “to use funds that have a reasonable and logical nexus to TSA operations to provide TSA employees with the compensation and benefits that would have accrued to them if not for the Democrat-led DHS shutdown” within the confines of applicable law.
“Once regular funding for TSA has been restored, every effort should be made, as authorized by law, to adjust applicable funding accounts within DHS to ensure the continuation of DHS operations and activities consistent with planned expenditures prior to the lapse,” it adds.
Democrats have refused to fund DHS without restrictions on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and on Friday morning got concessions from Senate Republicans, prompting Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to take a victory lap.
“After weeks of negotiations, Republicans caved to our demands to fund DHS without a blank check for ICE and CBP,” Schuimer wrote in a post on X.
However, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is putting a clean 60-day continuing resolution up for a vote instead of the Senate’s bill, which passed with unanimous consent. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Long-lost warship destroyed by iconic naval commander discovered centuries later: 'Quite remarkable'

Danish archaeologists recently uncovered a ship that was battered by the forces of Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson — one of the most renowned naval commanders of his time.
The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, Denmark, announced in a release this month that its researchers uncovered the remains of the Dannebroge, a blockship destroyed during the Battle of Copenhagen on April 2, 1801.
The ship's remnants were found ahead of construction of the Lynetteholm project, and its discovery was announced on the 225th anniversary of the battle.
The vessel, representing Danish-Norwegian forces, attempted to protect the city of Copenhagen before it was "heavily hit, caught fire and ultimately exploded," during the attack by the British, the museum said.
The battle was fought during the Napoleonic Wars, as Britain attacked Denmark to break a neutral alliance with other European powers that threatened British naval supremacy.
