"Trump Honors Fallen Firefighters"

President Trump signed a proclamation making May 2 and May 3 “National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.”
The proclamation “honors the brave volunteer and career firefighters who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty — with special reverence for those we have lost over the past year — whose courage and devotion to their communities will never be forgotten.” Trump wrote that Americans “carry their memories forward in gratitude along with the enduring promise of a Nation forever changed by their sacrifice.”
“This weekend, we hold the families, friends, and loved ones of our fallen fire heroes — many of whom are gathered on the beautiful campus of the National Fire Academy at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park in Emmitsburg, Maryland — to grieve together, share cherished memories, and find strength in the enduring legacies of those they have lost,” the proclamation reads. “Their grief is truly immeasurable, and we reaffirm our solemn mission to ensure that the names and memories of their loved ones remain forever enshrined in the hearts of our citizens.”
“My Administration remains steadfast in our commitment to unequivocally supporting those who protect us every day. May our nation forever honor and celebrate unwavering courage and self-less sacrifices made by every firefighter, police officer, Ice agent and military personnel bravely serving our nation. Supreme Court Issues Landmark Ruling on Voting Rights Act: 4 Things to Know
|
|
The U.S. Supreme Court in a landmark decision on April 29 reinterpreted a provision of the Voting Rights Act and struck down a majority-black congressional district in Louisiana, opening the door for more redistricting across the United States.
In a 6–3 ruling, the high court found that the Louisiana district represented by Rep. Cleo Fields (D-La.) relied on race when the congressional map was drawn up.
Ruling Impacts Key Voting Rights Act Section
The ruling was authored by Justice Samuel Alito and joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett.
Alito wrote that “allowing race to play any part in government decisionmaking represents a departure from the constitutional rule that applies in almost every other context.”
He said Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act is effectively limited to instances of intentional discrimination, a very high standard.
“Only when understood this way does (Section 2) of the Voting Rights Act properly fit within Congress’s 15th Amendment enforcement power,” Alito wrote.
The 15th Amendment, a Reconstruction-era amendment of the Constitution that was ratified in 1870 following the end of the Civil War, allows Congress to pass laws ensuring that the right to vote cannot be denied “on account of race, color or previous condition of servitude.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Trump Signs DHS Funding Bill, Ending Shutdown
|
|
President Donald Trump on April 30 signed legislation ending the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown after 11 weeks.
The department had been partially shuttered for 76 days since Feb. 14, resulting in long Transportation Security Administration (TSA) lines at airports nationwide.
“After 76 days, the longest government shutdown in history is over,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin posted on X.
“[DHS] is back open, [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and [Customs and Border Protection] will be funded through reconciliation (with NO Democrat votes) so liberals can’t play games with federal law enforcement funding. To be clear, this Democrat shutdown NEVER should have happened.”
Calls to pass the bill—and secure funding for presidential protection, which the Senate had already unanimously approved twice—intensified after the April 25 shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, where prosecutors say a man attempted to assassinate Trump.
The legislation provides funding for all of DHS except Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection. This includes funding for agencies including the TSA, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the Secret Service. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Trump Signals Legal Path To Restart Iran Fight In Letter To Congress
|
|
President Donald Trump alerted Congress to changes in the U.S. approach to Operation Epic Fury in a war powers letter sent Friday afternoon, according to a copy of the letter obtained by The Daily Wire.
The letter informs Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Chuck Grassley, president pro tempore of the United States Senate, of “changes in the posture of the United States Forces” in the Central Command Area of Responsibility, as part of the president’s efforts to “keep Congress fully informed, consistent with the War Powers Resolution.”
Trump reminded Congress that he reported to them on March 2 that the U.S. had begun Operation Epic Fury by conducting precision strikes against Iran on February 28.
“I ordered that operation consistent with my responsibility to protect Americans and United States interests at home and abroad, and in furtherance of United States national security and foreign policy interests,” the letter states.
“On April 7, 2026, I ordered a 2-week ceasefire,” Trump notes. “The ceasefire has since been extended. There has been no exchange of fire between United States Forces and Iran since April 7, 2026. The hostilities that began on February 28, 2026, have terminated.”
Though the United States has been successful in its operations against Iran, the letter notes, “the threat posed by Iran to the United States and our Armed Forces remains significant.”
The letter, by declaring that hostilities with Iran have been “terminated,” effectively sidestepped a May 1 deadline to seek congressional approval for the war Trump launched two months ago — preserving his ability to resume strikes without returning to Congress. (The Daily Wire) Read more here.

Holy Jesus, we pray that You will grant President Trump great wisdom and understanding as he seeks to end the reign of the terrorists in Iran. That the President said the war is “terminated” is a legal statement, not necessarily an actual end to the war. We ask for Your mercy over the people of Iran bringing restoration for the evil they have experienced. If the hostilities are resumed, we pray for a quick and decisive end to this conflict.

Some 600 groups, including hard-line communists and groups affiliated with the Democratic Party, are mobilizing all over the country today to demonstrate for May Day, socialism's high holy day.
A Fox News Digital investigation has identified a sprawling "red-blue" network with combined annual revenue of about $2 billion organizing some 3,000 protests and events and advancing what critics describe as an anti-American agenda. They have called for Americans to skip work, school and shopping.
At the center of the May Day mobilization, which has expanded from earlier indications, is a network of communist, socialist, Marxist and other far-left organizations, led by chapters of the Democratic Socialists of America and a network of groups – including the People’s Forum, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, ANSWER Coalition and Code Pink – funded by an American-born tech tycoon, Neville Roy Singham, based in Shanghai, promoting the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party.
The Communist Party of the USA has rallied workers to "rise against MAGA on May Day," promoting leaflets by the "People’s World," its Marxist-Leninist publication. The Revolutionary Communist Party has put out a call to dismantle the "capitalist-imperialist system." The Maoist Communist Union has summoned members to join the "Anti-Imperialist Contingent" at the New York City protests. (Fox News) Read more here.

1. IDF shifts focus to Iranian nuclear threat as ballistic missiles, regime change fall by the wayside - Jerusalem Post
As a series of complex post-Iran war dilemmas is being examined, the IDF has shifted to focus almost all its Tehran-related attention to the nuclear issue, with the ballistic missiles and regime changequestions mostly falling by the wayside.
In briefings, the IDF is spending significant time emphasizing the continued danger of the 60% enriched uranium, which the Islamic regime might access under the rubble of its Isfahan and other facilities.
Discussing that issue, the IDF is making it clear that it would be ready to return to a full-fledged war to prevent Iran from using the uranium to move toward a nuclear weapon.
Yet in the same briefings, the ballistic missile threat, which has been used with lethal effect against the Jewish state four times since 2024 and for which ostensibly Israel went to war with Iran on February 28, is getting much less attention. (Read more)

2. Israel to purchase 2 new fighter squadrons in multi-billion deal - Israel Hayom
The ministerial procurement committee approved over the weekend a request by the Defense Ministry and the IDF to acquire two new fighter squadrons, in a deal worth billions of dollars. The purchase includes a fourth squadron of Adir fighter jets, the Israeli name for the F-35, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, alongside another squadron of Boeing-made F-15IA aircraft. The deals also include the aircraft's integration into the Israeli Air Force, support systems, spare parts and logistics.
The procurement marks the first step in implementing the military buildup plan for the coming decade, approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, with a dedicated budget of 350 billion shekels. The Defense Ministry said the new squadrons were expected to form a central pillar of the IDF's force buildup in the coming years.
Katz said the decision stemmed in part from operational lessons learned during the campaign against Iran.
"The operational lessons from the campaign require us to continue accelerating the force buildup in order to ensure the Air Force's superiority in the decades to come as well," he said. "The purchase of the F-35 and F-15IA squadrons is a central part of the 'Shield of Israel' plan, which is designed to ensure the IDF maintains a lasting qualitative edge." (Read more)

3. Hezbollah rockets, drones target Israeli forces in Southern Lebanon - JNS
Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists launched several rockets and drones at Israeli soldiers on Sunday, according to the Israel Defense Forces. No injuries were reported.
“A short while ago, an interceptor was launched toward a suspicious aerial target that was identified in the area in which IDF soldiers are operating in Southern Lebanon,” the military stated. “The results of the interception are under review.”
In additional incidents throughout the day on Sunday, several projectiles and explosive drones fired by Hezbollah struck near IDF soldiers, the army said.
The terrorist group overnight on Saturday also launched several rockets and drones at Israeli soldiers, with no injuries reported. (Read more)

4. Attorney General to President: Ready for dialogue on Netanyahu’s cases

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and State Prosecutor Amit Eisman responded positively early Monday to President Isaac Herzog’s request regarding the possibility of reaching a plea bargain in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cases.
The Attorney General stated that the State appreciates the President’s efforts to bring the cases to a conclusion via a deal, and that she is willing to conduct substantive talks with the defense team in order to examine the feasibility of such a move.
According to the letter, the talks aimed at formulating a plea bargain will take place without any preconditions from either side. It was also emphasized that the contacts will be conducted “in parallel" with the ongoing trial, without harming or delaying the court’s schedule. (Read more)

5. São Paulo creates Brazil-Israel Parliamentary Front, forming strategic alliance

The São Paulo City Council has created a parliamentary front in support of cooperation with Israel.
The Brazil-Israel Parliamentary Front for Social, Economic, Financial, Entrepreneurship, and International Relations Development was voted in with an absolute majority last week.
This project officially creates an internal parliamentary caucus inside the city council focused on Brazil–Israel relations. It does not mean that São Paulo has signed a binding agreement with Israel. However, as a city council political caucus, it can host meetings, invite diplomats and businesses, promote partnerships, and propose legislation.
Councilwoman Cris Monteiro, who proposed the front, called it a "victory of common sense over ideological hatred." (Read more)

1. DOJ Report Reveals Biden Admin.’s Expansive Religious Liberty Violations and Hostility to American Christians - The Washington Stand
The presidency of Joe Biden was a dark, though relatively brief, chapter in American history, replete with widespread prosecution and persecution of American Christians. President Donald Trump repeatedly pledged on the campaign trail to establish a federal task force to investigate and eradicate the anti-Christian bias evinced and enacted by the Biden administration, and has delivered on that promise. On Thursday morning, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) published a 209-page report entitled, “Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias within the Federal Government,” detailing not only the numerous abuses of the Biden administration but also the remedies put in place by the Trump administration.
“Our Nation’s origin and system of government bear the imprint of a Christian worldview and ethic, even as its laws protect religious pluralism. Christian beliefs, in conjunction with contemporary political thought and economic realities, influenced colonial settlers in their decision to overthrow tyranny and pursue independence,” the report’s introduction states. “After the Revolutionary War, Christians then informed the structure and contents of the United States Constitution, its amendments, and contemporaneous state constitutions.”
“But, when Christian beliefs about morality and human nature conflicted with the Biden Administration’s views, religious rights often suffered,” the report’s introduction continues. “The Biden Administration generally tolerated religious beliefs that were privately held but zealously pursued actions to limit Christians’ ability to act in accordance with their faith. This affected matters of deep personal importance to nearly every American: life, family, marriage, and self-identity,” it continues. “The Biden Administration’s policies regularly clashed with a Christian worldview and burdened traditional religious practices. These conflicts frequently arose over abortion, gender ideology, and sexual orientation. Ultimately, the Biden Administration penalized Christians who lived in accordance with their beliefs.” (Read more)

We also declare in the Name of Jesus Your power against every anti-Christian plan that may still exist any place within the government.

2. Trump signs stopgap FISA extension after Senate blocks long-term renewal - Fox News
President Donald Trump signed a 45-day extension for Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Thursday night after the Senate rejected the three-year extension passed by the House, the White House confirmed to Fox News Digital.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., warned House leaders Tuesday that including a provision in the FISA extension to permanently ban the Federal Reserve from issuing central bank digital currencies (CBDC) would make it "dead on arrival" in the Senate. As Thune suggested, the three-year extension ultimately failed to pass the Senate due to opposition from Democrats.
As a temporary measure, the Senate approved a 45-day extension of the controversial national security law by unanimous consent. Trump subsequently approved the short-term renewal.
Once the 45-day period ends, Congress will be forced to begin the FISA extension process all over again. (Read more)

3. Trump’s DOJ Forcing Mexican President to Choose Between Protecting Political Party or Fighting Cartels - Breitbart
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is being forced to choose between protecting the cartel- connected political party that got her into power or actually fighting drug cartels, as the Trump administration has been pressuring her to do. For now, Sheinbaum appears to be moving to protect her party. It remains to be seen how the U.S. government will react.
The issue began this week, when the U.S. Department of Justice announced the unsealing of an indictment against the sitting governor of Sinaloa, Mexico. As Breitbart Texas reported, the indictment names Sinaloa’s Governor Ruben Rocha Moya, a sitting senator, a sitting governor. and several of his close associates in the state law enforcement apparatus on drug conspiracy charges. The charges allege that Rocha Moya and his associates sold out their state to the Sinaloa Cartel in exchange for hefty bribes.
The allegations seem to match a series of statements made by the White House in 2025 shortly after U.S. President Donald J. Trump took office that claimed that Mexico’s government had an intolerable relationship with drug cartels.
The revelations in the indictment point to Rocha Moya having protected the Sinaloa Cartel in exchange for political power, while his state officials used their badges and positions to also benefit the criminal organization. The Sinaloa Cartel is currently labeled as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government. (Read more)

We pray that a way to stop it will occur, whether sovereignly by Your Holy Spirit, or through the efforts of the Trump administration. We continue to ask for safety for the American people from the evil represented by the cartels.

4. Supreme Court unanimously slaps down blue state targeting pro-life group - Fox News
The Supreme Court unanimously sided with a group of faith-based pregnancy centers on Wednesday that challenged the New Jersey attorney general’s investigation into whether the centers misled donors and the public about steering women away from having abortions.
The case was brought by First Choice Women's Resource Centers, a group of five Christian-based facilities in New Jersey that provide various pre-natal services to women facing unplanned pregnancies. The Supreme Court found the state investigation violated the centers' First Amendment rights, handing a victory to the pro-life movement, which had argued the probe rattled the centers' donors.
The opinion was narrow, finding that First Choice is now able to sue over the state investigation in federal court.
First Choice had argued that then-Attorney General Matt Platkin, a Democrat, had issued baseless subpoenas to the pregnancy centers for donor information. Platkin had contended that the facilities presented consumer fraud concerns that the state had broad authority to investigate.
Justice Neil Gorsuch, who authored the opinion, agreed with First Choice, saying the state-issued subpoenas breached the First Amendment.
"An official demand for private donor information is enough to discourage reasonable individuals from associating with a group. It is enough to discourage groups from expressing dissident views," Gorsuch wrote.
The high court's majority rebuked Platkin, saying his probe did not align with longstanding court precedent.(Read more)

We ask for Your Mighty protection for all who seek to counsel women instead of pushing for abortions. We also pray for the hearts of these women to be turned toward the children, to bring love and repentance along with the Truth of Your heart to them.

5. Michigan Democrat Senate Candidate Calls to Abolish ICE, Declares Agents ‘A Paramilitary Force of Thugs’- Breitbart
Abdul El-Sayed, who is campaigning to fill Sen. Gary Peters’ (D) open seat in Michigan, is calling for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — which reignites a talking point first championed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) that was abandoned by Democrats following President Donald Trump’s re-election.
During an interview with podcaster Evan James, El-Sayed claimed that $185 billion, which is four years’ worth of funding that was given to ICE as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill, is being spent “to shoot people in the face.”
“It seems to me that the middle position is like, this shouldn’t exist,” El-Sayed said, referring to ICE.
Then, El-Sayed, whose father is an immigrant from Egypt, called ICE agents a “paramilitary force of thugs.”
“Why is ICE this way? Well, it’s because Donald Trump has been waging, at this point, an 11-year war against the U.S. Constitution itself,” El-Sayed said. He recognized that ICE and the pretext of immigration is the best way for him to create a paramilitary force of thugs who he can put on your street corner to be only accountable to him.” (Read more)

6. Texas Targets Houston-Based ‘Birth Tourism Center’ - Breitbart
The Texas Attorney General’s Office alleges the center unlawfully facilitates the entry of Chinese nationals to the United States for the sole purpose of birthing children to obtain United States citizenship.
As the Supreme Court considers the constitutionality of birthright citizenship for those born to mothers who have minimal ties to the United States, including those who enter the country unlawfully, the Attorney General’s lawsuit challenges the legality of the clinic, citing immigration law violations and violations of Texas law.
Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the legal action against the clinic and its operators on Wednesday in a news release that likens the actions of the operation to “exploiting birthright citizenship by unlawfully facilitating the invasion of Chinese nationals into Texas for the sole purpose of giving birth.”
The lawsuit was filed in Fort Bend County on the same day and includes Lin Suling and Lai Wan Lin-Chan as defendants. The petition and application for a temporary injunction allege that the center is violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other sections of the Texas Penal Code by advising foreign Chinese customers to misrepresent their travel purposes to U.S. authorities to facilitate travel visas necessary for entry into the United States.
Paxton alleges the center has operated a dangerous, illegal, and dishonest “birth tourism” business solely to facilitate the granting of birthright citizenship to their newborns after delivery. According to Paxton, the defendants boast they have facilitated the birth of more than 1,000 American-born babies. (Read more)

Lord, we pray that the practice of “birthright tourism” will be stopped, and that the Supreme Court will see what has been happening and rule to prevent it. We ask that all of these schemes be revealed and dealt with. We thank You for this Texas action and pray that it will be successful in all courts.

Missing Republican state Senate candidate found dead in truck days after disappearance

The body of a Republican Oklahoma state Senate candidate reported missing earlier this week has been discovered inside a truck parked in a rural area.
Barry Christian, a 54-year-old Senate candidate from Sayre, mysteriously vanished Tuesday and was found dead two days later, his campaign said in a statement obtained by KOCO.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed to the outlet that Christian’s gray Ram truck was discovered near Highway 30 with a body inside.
Due to the truck’s location by a ravine near the Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area, the recovery of the vehicle and body was reportedly delayed, initially stalling identification of the remains.
Officials are still working to determine Christian’s cause of death. The OSBI did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment. (Read more)

Graham Platner: Dems Need to Shut the Trump Administration Down

Thursday on MS NOW’s “The Briefing,” Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner said if Democrats win control of the Senate after the midterms, they needed to shut down the Trump administration.
Planter [sic] said, “We all understand that Donald Trump is uniquely awful. Donald Trump really is kind of the avatar of the worst elements of our politics in our society.”
Host Jen Psaki said, “If you’re elected to the Senate, it’s possible, I started the show talking about this, that you could be in the majority. How do you think power should be wielded if Democrats are given that for people who are just getting to know, you’re trying to figure you out there?”
Planter said, “Something we’re going to have to do if we’re in the majority, we need to use the power we get to shut this White House down. We do that. I think one of the best ways is through committee hearings and investigations. I want the Trump administration not to function, because everyone in the White House is being hauled under subpoena in front of a Senate committee, day after day after day, not just because one, we have so many crimes to investigate at this point. Katie Wilson, Seattle’s new self-proclaimed socialist mayor, sparked a social media firestorm after she gave her take on reports that millionaires are fleeing Washington state due to taxes and various far-left policies.
While speaking at a forum at Seattle University earlier this month, the new Democratic mayor said, "I think the claims that millionaires are going to leave our state are like super overblown."
"And the ones that leave, like, bye," she continued, waving her hand and laughing. Though the line drew laughs and applause from those in the auditorium, it did not go over as well online, as conservatives quickly blasted the new Seattle mayor.

On The Brink: How Much Longer Before God Intervenes In Our World?

As I look at what’s happened just since the start of 2026, I realize the world has continued to rapidly move toward the start of the Tribulation, and yet we still wait for Jesus’ appearing. I believe we find the answer in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8: “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming” (emphasis added)
The answer is yes, it’s because the Lord is even now restraining the terrors revealed in Revelation chapters 6-18, the very ones I thought would’ve begun years ago.
Things Pointing to the End
Although the “mystery of lawlessness,” mentioned in the above passage, was already at work during the first century AD, it has grown exponentially in recent years. In the past several months, we have heard reports of how corrupt politicians have facilitated the theft of mindboggling amounts of taxpayer funds. The total exceeds several hundred billions of dollars. The numbers are impossible to fully grasp.
Almost every week, I’m shocked by reports of violence. I remember the 1960s and the violence of that era, but it’s far more widespread and common today. Just last week, I heard of shootings in Iowa City and watched videos of the huge brawl that ensued afterward, with scores of people fighting in an area where I walked even at night, years ago, without even the slightest thought of danger.
The Apostle John wrote that the “spirit of the antichrist” was already at work in his day (1 John 4:3). The dramatic rise of antisemitism during the past twenty-five years demonstrates the increased activity of this evil spirit in our day. The hatred of Israel that’s becoming epidemic in the U.S. and elsewhere is satanic and is leading to the demonic hatred of the Jewish people. (Harbinger's Daily) Read More
