State Department Invests in Faith-Based Groups
|
|
|
The State Department announced nearly $2 billion in partnerships with faith-based groups, including World Vision, Samaritan’s Purse, and Compassion International. “This historic announcement is the largest allocation of global health foreign assistance to faith-based organizations in over 20 years,” the State Department said in a media note. “It underscores the Trump Administration’s commitment to partnering with organizations that demonstrate faith in action and have proven their ability to deliver health and humanitarian assistance in the world’s most difficult environments.”
From a $1.4 billion award, $850 million will be distributed over five years to support more than 2,500 faith-based hospitals and clinics across 17 countries. The funds will also support more than 30,000 community health workers. Another $570 million will be provided to faith-based entities through Memorandums of Understanding reached with other governments. The U.S. further intends to provide $538 million to “Samaritan’s Purse and a consortium jointly led by World Vision and Compassion International” as a means of providing life-saving assistance. 'Extremist' and 'barbaric': Massachusetts Democrats break ranks over new abortion law
|
|
A new Massachusetts law eliminating gestational limits on abortion has drawn backlash from conservatives and sparked a rift among state Democrats.
The Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act passed 119-33 in the state House of Representatives on July 22, largely along party lines. The bill, signed into law this week by Democratic Gov. Maura Healey, removes statutory restrictions on abortions past 24 weeks, allowing physicians to perform the procedure later in pregnancy based on their professional medical judgment and grants greater protection from legal penalties.
Nine House Democrats voted against the legislation alongside Republicans. Speaking to Fox News Digital, several dissenting lawmakers cited ethical and legal concerns, and said the bill does not align with the majority of their constituents' opinions on abortion.
"This new law represents an extremist and dangerous position," State Rep. Jeffrey Turco of Winthrop told Fox News Digital. "To be clear, it allows abortion anytime, unrestricted, and in many cases, publicly funded until the moment of birth."
Turco said the bill was "rushed through the legislative process in two weeks, without an opportunity for the public to weigh in," and was "out of step with the views of the average person in Massachusetts." (Fox News) Read more here.

Federal appeals court restores Texas mail ballot ID requirements in major election integrity ruling
|
|
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals restored key parts of Texas’ election law Wednesday, handing the state a major win after repeatedly reversing the lower court during a five-year legal fight.
The 11-page ruling overturned a lower court decision that blocked nine parts of Senate Bill 1, a 2021 law that changed Texas’ rules for mail-in voting and voter assistance.
The appeals court pointed to its repeated reversals in the case, noting that it has "reversed the district court on everything" during roughly five years of litigation.
"The bulk of the plaintiffs’ claims fail for lack of standing. One fails on the merits. But none justifies interference with the State Legislature’s efforts to prevent voter fraud and to protect election integrity," Judge Andrew Oldham wrote in the opinion.
The restored rules include requirements for Texans voting by mail to provide an identification number or Social Security number on ballot applications and for that information to match state records. The law also lays out a process for voters to fix defective ballots and requires voters and people helping them fill out ballots to sign an oath stating they did not coerce the voter. At Least 22 Dem AGs Agreed to Coordinate Takedown of Trump,
Keep Public in Dark Going Into 2024 Election
|

At least 22 Democratic attorneys general signed an ominous “common interest agreement” document before President Donald Trump’s 2024 election, vowing to pursue lawfare against Trump’s future administration.
The document outlined a lawfare campaign that would become known as the “Project for Federal Accountability,” according to The Center Square.
The document was reportedly signed three months before former President Joe Biden exited the 2024 presidential race to make room for then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
The “Project for Federal Accountability” was later referenced in then-New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s budget in early 2025, according to Zach Blackburn of the National Journal Hotline. Murphy is a Democrat. So was his attorney general, Matt Platkin. (Western Journal) Read more here.

DFW Airport scraps controversial Islamic foot-washing station plan as Texas Gov Abbott takes aim
|
|
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Friday directed a review of state grants to entities operating two major Texas airports over religious accommodations after Dallas Fort Worth International Airport said it would no longer move forward with a proposal to install Islamic washing stations.
Abbott said the state will review grants to entities operating DFW and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston for possible revocation and denial of future funding. He also referred both airports to the U.S. Department of Transportation for investigation.
"Government-owned airports cannot favor one religion over all others," Abbott wrote on X Friday. "DFW plans to install Islamic wudu washing facilities are illegal. I've directed a review of all state grants to both airports for possible revocation, and referred DFW & IAH to USDOT for investigation.

1. Hamas, Hezbollah coordinating attacks with Iran as IDF warns of rebuilt ‘axis of evil’ - Jerusalem Post
Hamas and Hezbollah have begun coordinating their increased activity with Iranian assistance in recent weeks, the IDF has assessed, as the military has identified increased friction between Israeli forces and terrorists on both the northern and southern fronts.
The IDF has expressed that the coordination is likely an effort to rebuild its axis of evil that would increase pressure on Israel.
According to a military source, a ‘battle of wits’ is taking place around the Ali Taher ridge between the Northern Command and Hezbollah. (Read more)

2. IDF prepares for days of combat as Hezbollah terrorists trapped underground

The IDF is preparing for the possibility of several days of combat in Lebanon after Hezbollah violated the ceasefire, Channel 12reported on Sunday.
The escalation comes as the IDF continues to work to eliminate the remaining Hezbollah infrastructure on the Ali al-Taher and Beaufort ridges in the Israeli security zone in southern Lebanon. At the same time, the terror organization is doing everything it can to prevent it, including by attacking the Israeli forces.
According to the report, Hezbollah terrorists, possibly even a few dozen, are holed up underground on the Ali al-Taher Ridge. The IDF has prevented the terrorist organization from assisting them. (Read more)

3. Hezbollah awaits green light from Tehran to escalate Lebanon-Israel tensions

A Lebanese source said Sunday that Hezbollah is deliberately seeking to derail direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, claiming the terrorist organization is stepping up its military activity while awaiting a green light from Iran to escalate further.
Lebanese newspaper Nidaa al-Watan cited a local political source as warning of Hezbollah's plans. The source said the organization was trying to disrupt the US-sponsored negotiations and was waiting for instructions from Tehran before broadening the military confrontation, against the backdrop of tensions between Iran and the US administration.
According to the Lebanese source, the current escalation in southern Lebanon is opening the door to dangerous scenarios that could lead to renewed war and the collapse of diplomatic talks. At the same time, the source also pointed a finger at Israel, claiming Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was seeking a military achievement on the southern Lebanon front. The source claimed Netanyahu's goal was to improve his political standing ahead of the upcoming Israeli elections and to use developments on the ground to pressure the Lebanese side in the negotiations. More than 140,000 Likud registered members are set to vote on Monday in the party’s highly competitive primaries, as candidates made their final campaigning push on Sunday.
The primaries come amid fierce internal tensions over changes that have expanded chairman Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s control over the party’s Knesset slate.
The polling will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 8 p.m. at stations throughout the country.

Israel and Honduras signed a memorandum of understanding Sunday to strengthen security cooperation and expand strategic ties between the two countries.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and Honduran Defense Minister Enrique Rodríguez Burchard signed the agreement during an official visit to Israel by a senior Honduran defense delegation.
“Honduras is an important partner country of Israel in Central America and has stood out over the years in its support for Israel in the international arena,” Katz said.
“The Memorandum of Understanding signed today constitutes a significant step in strengthening security relations between the two countries and establishing a framework for long-term cooperation based on shared interests and values.” (Read more)

1. Trump’s fight over rarely used 18th-century deportation law lives on in latest court clash- Fox News
The Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday dismissed as moot a challenge to President Donald Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged Tren de Aragua members, leaving the legality of his invocation of the 18th-century law unresolved.
The New Orleans-based court said the case became moot after all three Venezuelan plaintiffs, whom the administration alleged were members of Tren de Aragua, had already been removed from the United States under other immigration authorities.
While the Alien Enemies Act dates back hundreds of years, prior to Trump, it was most recently invoked by President Harry Truman in 1946. The law allows the president, under specified wartime or invasion circumstances involving a foreign nation or government, to detain and remove certain non-naturalized individuals of that hostile power.
The Trump administration has argued that Tren de Aragua’s gang activity amounts to an "invasion or predatory incursion" under the law and has sought to use the authority as part of its broader immigration agenda, including efforts to speed the removal of suspected gang members. (Read more here)

2. WWII Memorial vandalism suspect in custody, charged with two felonies, Pirro says- Fox News
The suspect accused of vandalizing the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., has been charged with two federal offenses for injuring/depredating U.S. property and the destruction of a veterans’ memorial, according to court documents.
The DOJ is accusing Kentucky woman Melissa L. Farris, of an act of vandalism which occurred Thursday. The words "Clean hands, dirty money," were spray-painted on the memorial in bright pink paint along with dumping bubble soap into the fountain at the center of the memorial, according to authorities.
Federal prosecutors allege that cleanup and restoration costs already exceeded $1,000.
Fox News Digital scanned Farris' social media pages, which were cited in the court documents, and found she posted to Facebook Friday morning in a video.

3. CCP Intelligence Official Buys Building Steps From White House- IJR
A senior Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intelligence official is the new owner of a historic building overlooking the White House Complex, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation discovered.
Located approximately 650 feet northeast of the White House grounds, the 100-year-old Securities Building on 15th Street was purchased on July 21, 2026 for $8.4 million by the Philip Qiu and Family Foundation, filings show. The building’s new owner, Philip Qiu, has held numerous positions within Chinese intelligence and state security arms, according to university records and DCNF translations of Chinese government announcements.
Qiu did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
“The CCP is like a kind, but firm parent,” Qiu said in 2021, according to a DCNF translation of an announcement from a Chinese intel arm. “It has guided our people out of hardship, led China’s sons and daughters to build a new country and is steering us toward great national rejuvenation.”
Qiu’s ownership of The Securities Building poses an urgent national security threat and must be investigated by federal authorities, multiple intelligence experts told the DCNF.
“This property allows access for big splashy intel ops as well as for more classic ops — like a listening post or Stingray-like systems to collect phone calls, text messages, and digital exhaust,” Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA operations officer, told the DCNF. “That’s all great for collecting targeting information to later ‘bump’ or recruit targets out in the world, who otherwise work inside a key U.S. government building.”
“But what’s especially alarming are emerging ops that properties like this allow — like hidden drone swarms or shipping container missiles,” said Wright, who hosts The Wright Report podcast. “This kind of property is where the next 9/11 will come from. It’s coming.” (Read more)

4. ICE refuses to disclose records on Ilhan Omar fraud probe, cites ongoing ‘enforcement proceedings’- Just the News
The federal government is refusing to turn over records related to an investigation conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement into allegations of immigration fraud by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., citing a legal exemption for ongoing investigations.
Just the News filed a Freedom of Information Act request for the records in January, seeking the records pertaining to any investigations conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement into the allegations that Rep. Omar, who represents Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, married a relative in order to help him remain in the country.
Omar has denied the allegations. No court records, DNA evidence, or other documentary proof has ever substantiated that Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, Omar's legal husband from 2009–2017, was her biological brother.
“ICE has determined that the information you requested is being withheld in full pursuant to Title 5 U.S.C. § 552(b)(7)(A). Disclosure of any responsive records at this time could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings,” ICE told Just the News in response to the FOIA in May. (Read more here)

5. Democratic Candidate’s Past Declarations Resurface- IJR
Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is facing renewed scrutiny over comments he made about Sharia law nearly two decades ago, after a 2009 New York Times interview resurfaced following his primary victory.
The interview, highlighted this week by the Washington Free Beacon, dates back to when El-Sayed was a 24-year-old medical student. At the time, he was discussing his decision to use an Islamic financing arrangement when purchasing a condominium through University Bank in Ann Arbor.
The Times article focused primarily on the bank’s efforts to offer financing products structured to comply with Islamic prohibitions against charging or paying interest. For most readers, the story was a look at how financial institutions adapt conventional lending practices for customers whose religious beliefs place restrictions on interest-based transactions.
What stands out now, however, is the language El-Sayed used to explain his personal decision.
“Ultimately, the question is,” El-Sayed said at the time, “when I die, and I stand before God and go through everything I did in my life, I don’t want to say I did it the easy way instead of the Shariah-compliant way. Not because of fear but because of obligation.”
Nearly 20 years later, and with El-Sayed seeking a seat in the United States Senate, those words are receiving a very different level of attention.
The obvious question is what El-Sayed meant by “obligation” and whether his views about the relationship between his religious beliefs and public service have changed since 2009. Religious observance by itself is hardly unusual among American politicians. Christians, Jews, Muslims and members of other faiths routinely allow their beliefs to influence their personal decisions. 6. Scope of CCP-backed Chinese exchange program inside American schools uncovered in sweeping report- Fox News
Dozens of American colleges, high schools, middle schools and elementary schools have taken part in a program launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping and run by an agency dedicated to promoting "Marxism-Leninism," a new report published by the parents' rights group Defending Education found.
At least 83 universities and 26 K-12 schools across 30 states have participated in Beijing’s Young Envoys Scholarship, an exchange program which the Chinese Communist Party says is designed to improve relations with the United States, according to the report. Critics, however, maintain that Chinese exchange programs serve a political function, allowing the CCP to curate manicured experiences to unduly sway American perceptions of China.
The program’s reach underscores how Beijing uses educational exchanges to build influence with American students even as U.S. officials, the president among them, are increasingly scrutinizing CCP efforts to shape public opinion and gain footholds in institutions. The new Defending Education report raises questions about what students are shown in China, who shapes those experiences and whether schools and families fully understand the political implications of participation. Treasure hunters strike gold after years of disappointment with find worth a fortune
|
|
|
Two metal detectorists recently struck gold — literally — after finding three Bronze Age gold bracelets worth six figures.
The detectorists, Alan Daniels, 48, and Andy Crammond, 34, found the bracelets near Carlisle, England in May, Bournemouth News and Picture Service (BNPS) reported.
Images show the bracelets — also called torcs — in remarkable condition.
The bracelets date back to roughly 1100 B.C. and have a combined weight of 18.27 ounces, or 1.14 pounds. They're estimated to be worth roughly $400,000, according to BNPS.
"Gold doesn't tarnish at all, and they came out of the ground just the same as when they went in over 3,000 years ago," Daniels said.
Speaking to BNPS, Crammond joked about almost having a heart attack when he found the first one just a few inches under freshly plowed soil.
He alerted Daniels, who searched the area and soon found a second one. Daniels later found a third torc about 20 feet away from the others.
"Detectorists dream of these things and that is how it still feels, like a dream," said Crammond, per BNPS.
"We have never found anything valuable before and always come home disappointed — until now."
"I'm waiting for someone to come out of the woodwork and say they aren't real. It is the find of multiple lifetimes."
