BREAKING NEWS: Hurricane Erin is now a Category 3 storm, endangering our East Coast. Please join us in decreeing together that this storm WILL stay out to sea and will harm our land OR our people. Thank you!
"He said to them, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then He stood up. He spoke sharp words to the wind and the waves. Then the wind stopped blowing. Then men were surprised and wondered about it. They said, “What kind of a man is He? Even the winds and the waves obey Him.” (Matthew 8:26,27)

The stories of Ukrainian youth that show the healing power of the Gospel
Ukraine (MNN) — Summer camps for Ukrainian youth bring healing to children broken by war and family hardship through the Gospel.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)  Divorce, abuse, war, and abandonment have shaped how these teenagers in Ukraine perceive life. Yet, when invited to church summer camps, they could finally breathe in hope. Eric Mock from Slavic Gospel Association says: “They were angry, confused, and now they walk away with hope, because they were judging God by their circumstances, not by His Word, not by His promises. And then secondly, in their circumstances, they had seen no love.”

This project brought together 160 young people for worship, rest, healing, and spiritual growth. A team of speakers — pastors, missionaries, coaches, and counselors — poured into the youth every day, helping shape their worldview spiritually and walking with them through the hard realities of life. Aneliya, came to camp after her father went to the front lines and her mother abandoned the family; she prayed to receive Jesus and left with renewed hope. Kateryna, from a violent home, called camp her “new birth” and found people she could trust. Maksym, who had never opened a Bible, repented on his own and began eagerly following God. Violeta, rescued from abuse, prayed publicly for the first time and left deeply grateful. Olena, abandoned by her parents, arrived unwilling but left with new friends and hope. Samuel, whose early trauma turned his hair gray, repented and found the friends he had long missed. And more! “Through the faithful believers ministering to them, they saw love,” says Mock — and believed in Jesus! (Mission Network News) Read More Here
- Abba Father, we praise Your holy Name for giving HOPE to the youth in Ukraine. Bless each child who surrendered their fear, pain and circumstances to Jesus during Christian Summer camp. May each new believer continue to be mentored so they may grow in Christ and experience the hands of God Almighty in their daily lives! Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals, bring full restoration as only You can. We give You all praise and glory and declare Your will be done, according to Your plans and purposes on earth as it is in heaven! In the mighty Blood of Yeshua, Amen and Amen.

- "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."    (Isaiah 40:31)

Trump, Putin wrap 'extremely productive' summit but 'not there yet' on ending war
President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday wrapped an ‘extremely productive’ summit aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, though what the next steps are remains unclear.
Putin, who spoke first in a joint press conference held by the two world leaders, described the talks as a "constructive atmosphere of mutual respect."
The Kremlin chief said an "agreements" had been reached, but neither leader expanded on any details relating to the talks, and they did not take questions from reporters.
The talks wrapped after just three hours, well over an hour short of original estimates and more than three hours shorter than the Kremlin believed the discussions would take.
"Today's agreement will be the starting point not only for the solution in Ukraine, but will also help us bring back business…between Russia and the U.S.," Putin said.
Putin described the nation of Ukraine as a "brotherly nation" but continued to say that the "primary roots" of the conflict need to be "eliminated" – terminology he has previously used to justify his illegal 2022 invasion.
Trump then described the summit as "extremely productive" and said, "many points" were agreed to, but he also did not expand on where agreements were made. (Fox News)

- Father of Justice, we pray that You will work a miracle that brings an end to the bloodshed in the Russia-Ukraine war. We ask that President Trump be the full catalyst toward that end, that no subterfuge will enter into the equation.

Trump: We're going straight to Russia-Ukraine peace deal, 'not a mere ceasefire'

President Donald Trump is ready to zoom past a ceasefire and get straight to a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

After his high-stakes summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin and ahead of his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump announced his intention to bring a more final end to the war.

"It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a peace agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere ceasefire agreement, which often times do not hold up," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Saturday.

Trump also said that if his meeting with Zelenskyy in D.C. on Monday goes well, they will work to schedule a trilateral meeting with Putin, presumably to get a peace agreement finalized and signed. However, Trump and Zelenskyy have both confirmed that they spoke after the U.S.-Russia summit on Friday.

The president's rejection of a ceasefire agreement echoes what Zelenskyy has often said regarding a lasting peace, rather than a "pause between Russian invasions."

"Today, following a conversation with President Trump, we further coordinated positions with European leaders. The positions are clear. A real peace must be achieved, one that will be lasting, not just another pause between Russian invasions," Zelenskyy wrote in a post on X on Saturday.

European leaders involved in the "Coalition of the Willing," including U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and others, also expressed their desire for a "just and lasting peace." The officials issued a joint statement after Trump and Putin's meeting, praising U.S. efforts and encouraging them to continue.

"We are also ready to work with President Trump and President Zelenskyy towards a trilateral summit with European support," the statement read.

Zelenskyy said on X that he urged Trump to issue sanctions if Russia refuses to partake in a trilateral meeting. The move is possible, as Trump threatened to hit Russia with "very severe" economic consequences if Putin derailed the peace process, but did not explain what that would entail. (Fox News) Read more here.

Here is the statement made by President Trump following the Summit on Friday:

This is the statement President Trump released:

“A great and very successful day in Alaska! The meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia went very well, as did a late night phone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, and various European Leaders, including the highly respected Secretary General of NATO.

It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up.

President Zelenskyy will be coming to DC, the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of people’s lives will be saved.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
- Holy Lord, we stand on peace as the actual outcome of these negotiations. We bind any side-deals that will not last and pray that Your power will cover all the parties involved. We take authority over hatred and agendas, opinions and emotions that do not follow Your plans.

- “’For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)

DC Police Leaders Stand Accused of Manipulating Data To Make Violent Crime Appear Lower. Here's How It Happens
In Washington, D.C., simple assault, a misdemeanor offense, is defined as "any attempt or effort, with force or violence, to do injury to the person of another." But the city's police department does not count it as a "violent crime." That designation is reserved for "assault with a dangerous weapon," a felony offense.
The district recorded 1,026 incidents of assault with a dangerous weapon in 2024, down 27 percent from the year prior. In 2025, it has thus far recorded 534 such assaults, a 20 percent drop from the 668 the district recorded over the same time period in 2024. There's just one problem: The real numbers are likely higher.
In July, just weeks before President Donald Trump announced his crackdown on crime in D.C., the city's police union head, Gregg Pemberton, accused police lieutenants and captains of ordering lower-level members to "take a report for a lesser offense" in an attempt to make violent crime stats fall. One D.C. police commander, Michael Pulliam, is under investigation for manipulating those stats, NBC's D.C. affiliate reported.
It's far from the first time such accusations have come to light. Leaders of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department were accused of rigging the city’s crime stats as early as 2019. (Free Beacon) Read more
- Lord Jesus, employees who work at a police department must learn to stand up to superiors, even if it costs them their job. When the statistics are skewed, people can even be killed as police officers and the public receive faulty information. We ask that You correct this situation and bring people with integrity to leadership and employees with a move of Your Spirit for repentance.

“He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.” (Psalm 33:5)

AG Bondi strips power from DC police chief, rescinds sanctuary city protections in crime crackdown operation
Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a two-page order on Thursday rescinding illegal immigration protections in Washington, D.C., and naming an "emergency police commissioner" for the city's Metropolitan Police Department.
Bondi's order, titled "Restoring Safety and Security to the District of Columbia," mostly took aim at sanctuary city policies within the nation's capital, rescinding any order that limits how Metropolitan police officers can handle interactions and incidents with illegal immigrants.
She also stripped power from Metro Police Chief Pamela Smith by naming Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Terry Cole as the department's "emergency police commissioner," granting him all the "powers and duties vested" in the position.
Cole has the ability to issue general orders, executive orders and written directives affecting all members of the department, and existing department leadership must receive his approval before issuing directives of their own.
Bondi also explicitly rescinded three orders issued by the Metro police within the past two years related to illegal immigration – the most recent one being an executive order issued by Smith earlier on Thursday limiting cooperation with federal immigration authorities. (Fox News) Read more here.
- Holy Lord, DC is an important historical city in America; it cannot be left in ugly disrepair and massive danger for workers and visitors. We thank You that the Trump administration is working to clean up and make the city safe from crime. So many people have suffered from the crime, we are thankful that something positive is moving forward. May Your Spirit bring a mighty move of repentance for all.

- “My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.” (2 Samuel 22: 3-4)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Netanyahu says nationwide strike is ‘distancing the release of our hostages’ - Times of Israel

As Israelis across the country blocked roads Sunday and called for an end to the war and a hostage release deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the nationwide strike was making a ceasefire with Hamas less likely.

The remarks were met with anger from the families of hostages, who accused the prime minister of lying to the public.

“Those who call today for ending the war without defeating Hamas are not only hardening Hamas’s position and distancing the release of our hostages, they are also ensuring that the atrocities of October 7 will repeat themselves again and again, and that our sons and daughters will have to fight again and again in an endless war,” Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting. 2. IDF OKs war’s next stage, Gaza City in sights - JNS

The military has approved plans for the next stage of the war in Gaza, and “will continue striking until Hamas is defeated, with the hostages constantly in our sight,” Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said on Sunday.

During a visit to IDF Southern Command headquarters in Beersheva, Zamir said that the military would “soon” move to the next stage of “Operation Gideon’s Chariots, “during which we will continue to deepen the damage against Hamas in Gaza City until its defeat.

“Gideon’s Chariots,” he continued, has achieved its goals: “Hamas no longer possesses the capabilities it held before the operation—we have struck it hard.” (Read more)

3. IDF prepares to relocate residents to southern Gaza, spokesperson says - Jerusalem Post

Gaza residents will be provided with tents and other shelter equipment starting from Sunday ahead of relocating them from combat zones to safe ones in the south of the enclave, the IDF announced on Saturday.

This comes days after Israel said it intended to launch a new offensive to seize control of northern Gaza City, the enclave's largest urban center, in a plan that raised international alarm over the fate of the demolished strip, home to about 2.2 million people.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said that before launching the offensive, the civilian population will be evacuated to what he described as "safe zones" from Gaza City, which he called Hamas' last stronghold.

The shelter equipment will be transferred via the Kerem Shalom crossing in southern Gaza by the United Nations and other international relief organizations after being inspected by defense ministry personnel, the military said. (Read more)

4. IDF strikes Houthi energy infrastructure, including Haziz power station in Sanaa - Jerusalem Post

The IDF struck an energy infrastructure site that was used by the Houthis in Yemen, the military confirmed on Sunday morning.

According to the IDF, the strikes were conducted in response to repeated attacks by Houthis against Israel and Israeli civilians, including launching surface-to-surface missiles and drones toward Israeli territory.

Army Radio reported that the Israel Navy struck in Yemen and targeted the Haziz power station. The report compared the strike to an earlier one this year in the port of Hodeidah. (Read more)

5. Iranian imam defies regime: Stop calling for Israel's destruction - Israel Hayom

A courageous voice emerges from within the Islamic Republic as a senior Sunni religious leader challenges both Palestinian extremism and Iran's anti-Israel policies. Abdolhamid Ismaeelzahi, who serves as imam of one of Iran's largest Sunni mosques, delivered an unprecedented call for moderation that has sent shockwaves through the country's religious and political establishment.

The influential preacher, considered both well-known and revered among Sunni circles in the Shia-majority nation, used his Friday sermon to directly confront extremist rhetoric from multiple sides. "Israeli extremists are trying to destroy the Palestinians. This way of thinking is not good for the Jews," Ismaeelzahi told his congregation, before making his most controversial statement.

"Palestinians must also abandon the path of extremism. They are forbidden from calling for Israel's destruction," the imam declared, breaking a fundamental taboo within Iran's political discourse. His words carried even greater weight when he added, "Others are also forbidden from calling for Israel's destruction," delivering a clear rebuke to Tehran's official policy. (Read more)

1.  Leak: Newsom’s Gerrymander Will Eliminate 4 of 9 Republican Districts – Breitbart

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s plan to gerrymander California’s congressional districts will eliminate at least four Republican-held districts, while securing Democratic control of four other contested seats.
Currently, Republicans only hold nine of California’s 52 congressional seats (17%). Under the new map that the governor wants to present voters in a special election in November, Republicans will hold five seats (just under 10%). Nearly 40% of California voters chose Republican candidates in the last election in 2024, on a map created by an “independent” redistricting commission (which Democrats have gamed, regardless).
Politico reported the leaked chart, which was shown to Democrats in the state legislature, whose support Newsom needs to approve his special election — assuming it is legal and constitutional which Republicans deny. Politico reported that Republicans Doug LaMalfa, Kevin Kiley, Ken Calvert, and Darrell Issa would lose their seats under the gerrymandering plan, while Democrats Josh Harder, Adam Gray, George Whitesides, Derek Tran, and Dave Min would enjoy additional protection from potential Republican challengers in 2026. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that this plan will not be accomplished. We ask for You to intervene to stop this California plan of revenge against Trump and Texas.

2.  Judge orders RFK Jr's HHS to stop sharing Medicaid data with immigration officials – Fox News

A federal judge ordered the Department of Health and Human Services to stop providing access to Medicaid enrollees' personal data, including their home addresses, to immigration officials.
District Judge Vince Chhabria, an Obama appointee, granted a preliminary injunction blocking the Department of Homeland Security from using Medicaid data obtained from 20 states that filed a lawsuit to stop the data sharing.
The order, handed down Tuesday, blocks HHS from sharing data on Medicaid enrollees in these states with Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the purpose of targeting migrants for deportation.
"Using CMS data for immigration enforcement threatens to significantly disrupt the operation of Medicaid—a program that Congress has deemed critical for the provision of health coverage to the nation’s most vulnerable residents," Chhabria wrote. (Read more)

- Holy Lord, let only Your perfect will be accomplished in this situation. If there are people on the Medicaid rolls that are not truly eligible, then we pray that You will allow them to be removed. We also ask that those who truly need the help be protected. In all of this, we pray that Your healing power would begin to flow to all who need it, and bring the miracles that will increase Your Kingdom as it did in antiquity.

- “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”  (1 Peter 2:24)

3.  Judge Deals Major Blow To Trump’s Efforts To Purge DEI From Public Schools – Daily Wire

A federal judge struck down the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on DEI programs at federally funded schools, claiming the administration bypassed procedural requirements.
Maryland District Court Judge Stephanie Gallagher ruled on Thursday against guidance from the Education Department warning schools not to implement DEI programs that discriminate against white or Asian students. Gallagher’s ruling also applied to the Education Department’s demand that schools certify they were not discriminating through DEI programs.
“This Court takes no view as to whether the policies at issue in this case are good or bad, prudent or foolish, fair or unfair,” Gallagher wrote. “But, at this stage too, it must closely scrutinize whether the government went about creating and implementing them in the manner the law requires. Here, it did not. And by leapfrogging important procedural requirements, the government has unwittingly run headfirst into serious constitutional problems.”
“The administration is entitled to express its viewpoints and to promulgate policies aligned with those viewpoints. But it must do so within the procedural bounds Congress has outlined. And it may not do so at the expense of constitutional rights,” the Trump-appointed judge added.
The ruling was prompted by a lawsuit from the American Federation of Teachers and other teacher groups. The guidance was first blocked back in April. (Read more)

- Father, the courts continue to push obstacles to President Trump’s agenda. We ask that You stop them, since even the Supreme Court is often being ignored by certain judges. Nothing is too hard for You!

4.  Trump says he has 'wonderful talk' with Belarus President Lukashenko – New York Post

President Trump has just written on Truth Social that he has held a phone call with the authoritarian president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
"I had a wonderful talk with the highly respected President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko," Trump wrote. "The purpose of the call was to thank him for the release of 16 prisoners. We are also discussing the release of 1,300 additional prisoners. Our conversation was a very good one.
"We discussed many topics, including President Putin’s visit to Alaska. I look forward to meeting President Lukashenko in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Lukashenko has run Belarus since 1994 and has often been called "Europe's last dictator." (Read more)

- Lord, we thank You that President Trump is unafraid to speak honestly with dictators who do things that are evil. You spoke frankly with many during Your time on earth. We pray that these leaders will come to repentance and be transformed by Your Love.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)

5.  Little Sisters of the Poor are still fighting ObamaCare— as states force nuns to violate their faith - New York Post

It’s enraging.
More than a decade after the Obama administration first tried to force the Little Sisters of the Poor to buy contraception including abortifacient drugs for employees, states are still hounding the nuns in court.
At its heart, ObamaCare was a massive welfare program meant to redistribute health-care costs to the middle class.
But it was also a social engineering project aimed at coercing religious organizations and businesses to adopt progressive values.
The Affordable Care Act mandated employers, including nonprofits such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, to pay for contraceptives in their worker-provided health insurance as an “essential health benefit” under the euphemistic category of “preventative and wellness services.”
There was no “religious exemption.” (Read more)

Lord, there must be a religious exemption for laws and rules throughout the government. But we pray that Your Freedom fills the entire country, from leaders to citizens. We pray on our knees for Your Holy Spirit to bring new life to all, even including Your church.

- “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”  (2 Corinthians 3:17)
6.  New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Declares State Of Emergency Due To ‘Surge In Violent Crime’ In County - Daily Caller

Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham declared a state of emergency Wednesday in a rural county of her state due to a surge in violent crime and drug trafficking.
Grisham’s office announced in a press release that the state of emergency will include Rio Arriba County, the city of Española and Pueblo Indian communities in the area in response to a “significant surge in violent crime, drug trafficking and public safety threats” which the governor’s office said have “overwhelmed local resources.”
“When our local leaders called for help to protect their communities, we responded immediately with decisive action,” Grisham said in a Wednesday statement. “We are making every resource available to support our local partners on the ground and restore public safety and stability to these areas that have been hardest hit by this crisis.” (Read more)

- Lord Jesus, we pray that this Governor and all lawless Governors will see the truth and move to stop the out-of-control crime problems that have plagued them.

- “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

7.   Governor Abbott gave California Democrats one lesson in disaster relief that exposed their broken system – Right News Wire

California Governor Gavin Newsom has been preaching to the nation about disaster management and government efficiency.
But Texas Governor Greg Abbott just showed him how it’s really done.
And Governor Abbott gave California Democrats one lesson in disaster relief that exposed their broken system completely.
Just two weeks after country music legend George Strait held a benefit concert for Texas flood victims, Governor Abbott was personally handing out $25,000 relief checks to more than 60 families devastated by the catastrophic Hill Country floods.¹
Compare that to California’s much-hyped FireAid concert.
The star-studded event featuring Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Olivia Rodrigo raised over $100 million for Los Angeles wildfire victims back in January.
Eight months later, victims in the hardest-hit neighborhoods still haven’t received a single direct payment from those funds. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for Your justice in this horrific situation. We take Your authority over the lack of forward momentum for the victims of the fires, and call for repentance for all leadership in California.

- “I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time for every matter and for every work.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:17)

DC sues Trump administration over 'unlawful' federal takeover

The D.C. attorney general on Friday sued the Trump administration over its federal takeover of the D.C. police force and its deployment of national guard troops into the city, arguing that the effort is "unlawful" and exceeds Trump's authority as commander in chief.
The lawsuit, filed Friday by D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb, challenges both Trump's executive order, issued Monday, and Attorney General Pam Bondi's more recent order Thursday that seeks to assert control over the Metropolitan Police Force, sidelining current Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith.
In the filing, submitted to federal court in D.C., Schwalb urged the court to block both of the administration's orders, arguing that the Trump administration's temporary takeover of DC police under Section 740 of the D.C. Home Rule Act "does not authorize this brazen usurpation of the District’s authority over its own government."
Schwalb also asked the court to overturn Bondi's order asserting control of the local police force. (Fox News) Read more here.

- Lord, we bind this lawsuit and declare it null and void. We ask for Your favor for the President’s actions.

- “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!”  (Psalm 90:17)

First Lady Melania Trump’s ‘peace letter’ to Putin:        ‘It is time’
First Lady Melania Trump wrote a "peace letter" to Russian President Vladimir Putin telling him "it is time" to protect children and future generations around the globe, Fox News Digital has learned.

Fox News Digital exclusively obtained the "peace letter" the first lady penned to Putin, which  President Trump hand-delivered to the Russian leader before their summit in Alaska, Fox News Digital has learned.

Immediately upon receiving the letter, Putin read it as the American and Russian delegations looked on.

UN Prayer Watch Newsletter
for Israel, America and the Nations

July 2025

Dear Friends,

Greetings from New York City.

During our prayer time at the UN headquarters last week, we felt the urgency to stay on our post as watchmen on the wall throughout the summer. Too much is happening in the spiritual realm for Israel and the US, so we want to stand together as an army of intercessors for the nations. Let's take up the armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. Pay special attention to verse 16: "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." Flaming arrows in the form of rockets, lies, dehumanization, and antisemitism are being fired at Israel from many nations at the UN. Let’s stand shoulder to shoulder and remember that if God is for us, who can be against us? Let’s pray for Israel’s ambassador, Danny Danon, his entire team and the nations that support Israel.

Items to Keep in Prayer

  • We will not forget the 50 hostages who have been held in Gaza for more than 650 days. Just last week, some of their family members were in Washington DC with Benjamin Netanyahu and also met President Donald Trump. Pray against the spirit of death and for strength, hope, and courage for the hostages and their families.
  • Please keep praying that the case against Israel before the ICC will be stopped. It has been on hold since the Appeals Chamber of ICC froze the institution’s case against Israel in a dispute about its own jurisdiction in April 2025.
  • Pray for the humanitarian situation in Gaza and release new ways to bring aid to the people without Hamas stealing the aid and making money off of it. Pray against the false reports in the media against the new humanitarian aid organization Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) that distributes aid to the people in Gaza.
  • Please continue to pray for an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine with Psalm 46.

Warm greetings from New York.

Potential ‘100 Foot’ Waves Headed for U.S. East Coast
Hurricane Erin develops in the Atlantic Ocean, sending large surf and dangerous conditions to the United States’ eastern seaboard.

Speaking to Newsweek, Jean-Raymond Bidlot, senior scientist in ocean modeling at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), said: “The latest forecast does indeed indicate that the largest significant wave height could reach values in excess of 50 feet with an associated most likely largest wave of more than 100 feet.”

That’s…absurd. Of course, 100-footers aren’t going to be hitting New Smyrna Beach, up to the Outer Banks, and beyond. But there will be swell, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile other experts, like AccuWeather’s lead hurricane expert Alex DaSilva, downplayed the size potential of the waves. Yet still, it’s significant. DaSilva said: “While 100 feet can’t be ruled out, I think they would only be possible if the storm become a Category 4 or 5 storm. I think waves near the center of 50-75 feet are much more realistic (assuming a Category 3 storm).” Read More
