Trump’s Approval Rating Surges After Ukraine Peace Efforts

President Trump’s approval rating has climbed sharply in a new poll following his high-profile push for peace in the Ukraine conflict. The InsiderAdvantage survey, conducted August 15–17, shows his approval at 54 percent, with 44 percent disapproving. The increase follows Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, where he emphasized diplomacy and de-escalation.
The poll reflects strong support across most age groups. Adults aged 18–39 and 40–64 each registered 57 percent approval, while support among voters 65 and older stood at 40 percent. Trump also gained ground with Black and Hispanic voters, demographics where Republicans have traditionally struggled.
These numbers suggest Trump’s approach to foreign policy, particularly his emphasis on direct negotiations, is resonating with Americans weary of prolonged international conflicts. His efforts position him as a leader focused on restoring stability and reducing global tensions, reinforcing his image as a dealmaker on the world stage.
The poll also highlights a generational shift, with younger voters showing unexpectedly strong approval. Hurricane Erin to bring 'powerful' 20-foot waves along East Coast
|
|
Hurricane Erin's higher tides and big waves have arrived along much of the U.S. East Coast, with the large storm prompting the expansion of tropical storm and coastal flooding advisories.
Beachfront property owners are bracing for the worst with predictions for a life-threatening storm surge of up to 4 feet and significant coastal erosion, with "large, powerful, life-threatening" waves of 15 to 20 feet expected to batter beaches, especially in North Carolina, for 48 hours or more as the hurricane crawls northward offshore through at least Aug. 21, if not longer. Beachgoers along the entire East Coast were warned against swimming in the ocean.
The Category 2 hurricane saw its winds weaken to as low as 100 mph on Aug. 19 as its north side battled winds, but the National Hurricane Center said early on Aug. 20 that the storm had reformed an inner eye wall, and a Hurricane Hunter mission this morning is expected to help the center determine if winds have increased in response.
"Erin is a large hurricane and growing," the weather service said the morning of Aug. 20.
The official forecast states the storm could see its winds increase to 110 mph as it passes North Carolina on Aug. 21.
Erin formed on Aug. 11 from a tropical wave that moved across the Cabo Verde Islands. By Aug. 15, Erin was a hurricane and quickly joined the ranks of the fastest-intensifying hurricanes on record.
Even though Erin is expected to stay hundreds of miles offshore, its impacts are forecast to worsen as it crawls northward and makes its closest approach to the U.S. mainland. Erin was generating waves of 35 feet or more at an ocean buoy east-northeast of the Bahamas on Aug. 19, creating swells and stirring up a broad swath of the ocean. (USA Today)

- Abba, thank You for keeping Hurricane Erin away from the US mainland. We ask that as it grows larger and the winds increase that You hold the winds in Your hands and allow them to only go as far as You intend. We ask Holy Spirit to send out angels of protection to people who end up in trouble from the winds or the onshore surge. Jesus, we ask You to keep safe ships that cannot get out of the direct path of Erin, put Your arms around each one and bring it safely through the storm. Father God, be with all on the shore whose property is damaged or destroyed, give them the awareness of Your nearness and loving care for them, make a way where they see no way.
And Father God, we also decree that You will send the tropical depressions now currently out to sea away from the Coast, too. We ask this in the name Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Will Provide.

U.S. warships to patrol international waters around Venezuela as Trump vows to stop cartels
|

|
The U.S. military has sent destroyers and thousands of Marines toward Venezuela as President Donald Trump doubles down on deadly drug cartels, according to reports.
At least three Aegis guided-missile destroyers — USS Gravely and USS Jason Dunham among them — are part of the mission, two U.S. officials anonymously told the Associated Press Tuesday.
Another official told Reuters the deployment, which could arrive soon, involves around 4,000 Marines and soldiers "over the course of several months," backed by spy planes, warships and a submarine so that international waters and skies are covered.

Hungary Accuses Ukraine of Attacking Its Oil Pipeline With Russia
|
|
|
Hungary’s foreign minister criticized Ukraine on Aug. 18, alleging that Kyiv was behind an attack that choked off Russian crude oil to Hungary.
“Ukraine has again attacked the petroleum pipeline to Hungary, cutting off supplies,” Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said in a social media post on Monday. “This latest strike against our energy security is outrageous and unacceptable!”
The pipeline in question, known as the Druzhba or “Friendship” Line, has multiple branches and passes through Ukraine to provide Russian crude oil for several European nations, including Hungary.
The Hungarian foreign minister had accused Ukraine of targeting the Druzhba Line a week before via a drone attack on a key distribution station. This latest disruption came just hours before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President Donald Trump and other European leaders to discuss how to end the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Following this latest disruption, Szijjártó said, he spoke with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin, who informed him that efforts were underway to repair a transformer station needed to restore the oil flows.
Szijjártó and other Hungarian leaders have repeatedly criticized the West’s support for Ukraine in its fight with Russia. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

California pastor leads rally at state capitol warning parents to flee state if 'dangerous' bill passes
|
|
|
A California pastor is calling on families to flee the state if a bill passes which would expand the categories of who can claim "caregiver" rights over a child.
"Legal experts have concluded that this very well might be the worst, most dangerous legislation that has ever come out of California," Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills warned, in an interview with Fox News Digital. "If this bill passes, you have to grab your kid and leave the state for your child's protection."
Hibbs is leading a rally on Tuesday at 1 p.m. PT at the Capitol in Sacramento urging Governor Gavin Newsom to veto AB 495, called the Family Preparedness Plan Act. The bill intends to protect immigrant children at risk of family separation through immigration enforcement.
The bill allows a caregiver who is a relative or has "an established familial or mentoring relationship with the child" to sign a caregiver's authorization affidavit and be given the legal right to enroll a minor in school and consent to school-related medical care on behalf of the minor, its text says.
Hibbs and parental rights groups in the state argue the bill is too broad as currently written, and could strip parents of their authority to make school-related medical decisions for their children.
Schools are under no obligation to conduct further inquiries or investigations, the bill states. There is no requirement in the bill for schools to get parental consent, check photo I.D., or do a background check on those who complete the affidavit, Hibbs argued. The affidavit requests a driver’s license number, but caregivers may provide a Social Security or Medi-Cal number instead.
Hibbs said that legal experts he’s consulted have called the bill a "human trafficker, pedophile, and kidnapper’s dream come true." (Fox News) Read more here.

This law opens the door for adults, other than a child's parent, to sign a caregiver's authorization affidavit that gives the school consent to make school-related medical decisions for the child. The schools are under no obligation to get the parents' consent and they don't have to do any investigation of the person claiming to be the child's caregiver, not even checking for a photo ID. Father God we are asking You to stop this bill in its tracks, allow the truth behind what this bill was created to do, to become news on all the media outlets. We ask You to speak to the heart of every parent in California, bubble up the feeling of "protector' to protect themselves and their children. We ask this in the name El Shaddai, the God who has power over all things.

1. IDF says troops repelled rare large-scale attack in southern Gaza, at least 8 terror operatives killed - Times of Israel
A cell of at least 14 terror operatives attempted to raid an IDF encampment in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis this morning, according to a military probe of the rare incident.
The attack began at around 9 a.m., as the operatives emerged from a tunnel near the IDF post and began to fire RPGs and machine guns at troops of the Kfir Brigade, and approached the encampment.
The soldiers exchanged fire, killing at least eight of the gunmen just outside the army post, while others likely managed to flee back to the tunnel, the probe finds. (Read more)

2. Smotrich rejoices as settlement plan that ‘erases 2-state delusion’ gets final greenlight - Times of Israel
A major construction project that would see some 3,400 housing units built in the contentious E1 area in the West Bank, between Jerusalem and the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim, was given final approval Wednesday.
Announced last week by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, the controversial plan was formally greenlit by the Higher Planning Committee of the Civil Administration, a Defense Ministry department.
Smotrich, who also holds a junior ministerial position in the Defense Ministry that grants him wide say in settlement construction, called the decision “historic.”
He described the construction plan as a “significant step that practically erases the two-state delusion and consolidates the Jewish people’s hold on the heart of the Land of Israel.” (Read more)

3. Netanyahu’s request: Shorten the timeline for conquering Gaza

The Prime Minister’s Office announced on Wednesday evening that, ahead of approval of the plans for the operation in Gaza City, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed that the timetables - for seizing control of the last terrorist strongholds and the defeat of Hamas - be shortened.
“The Prime Minister expresses his great appreciation for the reservist fighters who have been mobilized and their families, and all IDF soldiers. Together we will win,” the PMO’s statement said.
Kan 11 News reported that a diplomatic source revealed Israel has no intention of sending a delegation to resume negotiations for a hostage release deal at this time.
Palestinian Arab sources claimed that Hamas had agreed to the mediators’ proposal for a deal based on US envoy Steve Witkoff’s outline. (Read more)

4. Israeli soldiers repel major Hamas attack on elite recon unit - World Israel News
Israeli forces successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on a military shelter in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, on Tuesday morning, preventing what officials said could have become a major hostage situation.
Around 9 a.m., approximately 15 armed terrorists emerged from a tunnel shaft just meters from an outpost manned by soldiers from Sayeret Haruv, an elite reconnaissance unit.
The attackers opened fire with machine guns and anti-tank weapons, reportedly aiming to infiltrate the position and capture soldiers.
Three Israeli soldiers were wounded in the clash, one moderately and two lightly, as troops inside quickly returned fire. (Read more)

5. First Charter Aliyah Flight Since Hamas’s Oct. 7 Attack Brings 225 Newcomers to Israel - Algemeiner
NEW YORK/TEL AVIV — Defying the uncertainty of war, 225 Jews arrived in Tel Aviv on the first charter aliyah flight since the Hamas-led invasion of and massacre across southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, determined to start new lives and contribute to the country they now call home.
On Wednesday morning, Nefesh B’Nefesh — a nonprofit that promotes and facilitates aliyahfrom the United States and Canada — brought its 65th charter flight from New York to Tel Aviv.
Aliyah refers to the process of Jews immigrating to Israel.

1.Illegal immigrant accused of killing 3 in Florida highway crash crossed border into California in 2018: DHS - Fox News
The Indian illegal immigrant truck driver accused of causing a crash that killed three people in Florida crossed into the U.S. through California in 2018, and was arrested by Border Patrol two days later. Harjinder Singh, 28, faces deportation and three counts of homicide – negligent manslaughter/vehicle following the incident on the Florida Turnpike in Fort Pierce on Tuesday.
Following his arrest on Sept. 20, 2018, near San Ysidro, California, "he has been pending immigrant proceedings since," a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statement to Fox News said. While operating a commercial semi-truck with a trailer, Singh allegedly attempted an illegal U-turn while driving on the highway. This resulted in the trailer jackknifing and colliding with a minivan — leaving all three of the minivan's passengers dead, according to officials.
"Three innocent people were killed in Florida because Gavin Newsom’s California DMV issued an illegal alien a Commercial Driver’s License—this state of governance is asinine," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News. (Read more) |

2. NATO scrambles warplanes as Russia hits near Romanian border in Ukraine - Fox News
Two German warplanes were scrambled overnight from Romania after Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack in Ukraine less than a mile from the NATO borderline.
Romania’s Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that two German Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, stationed at Romania's Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base as part of NATO's Enhanced Air Policing mission, were deployed "to monitor the air situation," but noted that this time no Russian aircraft or projectiles crossed the NATO border.
Despite last week’s talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump, Moscow has continued its aerial bombardment of Ukraine, including in an overnight attack that targeted oil and port facilities in the Odesa region on and near the Danube River, which separates the Ukrainian border with the allied NATO nation of Romania. 3. The Real Battle Behind Redistricting: America’s Moral Crossroads - Million Voices
For the past two weeks, Texas has been in the spotlight over efforts to redraw congressional maps. Not long after, California entered the fight, with states like New York threatening to join them. At its core, this battle is not simply about technical rules, it is about the direction of America. The question is clear: do we want a nation rooted in righteousness, or one that embraces immorality?
Expanding congressional seats is not unethical. Critics may call it cheating, but the law permits mid-decade redistricting. Nothing prevents the federal government from conducting a census halfway through the decade. With just over three years left in his term, President Trump is focused on ensuring not only that work gets done now, but that the next administration is in a stronger position to govern effectively.
This fight comes down to a simple choice: do Americans want to live in a nation defined by government overreach and moral decay, or one nation under God, with a government that recognizes our unalienable rights? Opponents argue redistricting is biased and has no place in politics. Yet Democrat-led states like Illinois have aggressively gerrymandered their maps for decades. 4. From Seminary to Surrender- The Fall of America’s Universities - Million Voices
In the age of confidence failing in America’s universities and colleges, it makes one ask why people still support the very institutions that have been teaching values and ideologies that are in opposition to the Christian principles America was founded upon. From LGBTQ to climate change, the anti-Christian activists are alive and thriving on college campuses, but that could be changing.
Just last month, according to Reuters, “U.S. President Donald Trump signaled a willingness on Wednesday to settle for $500 million a legal fight with Harvard University over $2.5 billion in funding his administration canceled over accusations it allowed antisemitism and promoted diversity policies.”
Harvard certainly surrendered years ago. Beginning in 1636, Harvard started off as a seminary school. In its Charter of 1650, Harvard acknowledged God as its source of benevolent blessings. Fast forward to 2025, and Harvard has their own Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department (DEI), describing itself on their website as, “The Office for Community and Belonging works to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and pluralistic culture at Harvard Chan School.” (Read more) |

5. Former Children’s Hospital Doctor Faces Federal Child Pornography Charges - Million Voices
In a disturbing discovery, the U.S. Attorney General’s office found that a former children’s hospital doctor has been hit with a federal charge for transporting and possessing child pornography.
Charging documents which contain information regarding the bust indicate that a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office detective working on the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force investigated a cyber tip relating to image searches for child porn that directly originated from Saal’s IP address. The tip photo displayed two naked females around 10 years of age, engaged in sexual acts.
Through an ongoing review of Saal’s electronics, the FBI has so far found over 153,000 photos and 470 videos of child sexual abuse content. Some of the child porn involves children as young as a newborn.This comes three months after the Justice Department announced their results from Operation Restore Justice, where 205 child sex abuse offenders were arrested in a nationwide effort. Stupidocrisy: The Myth of a Palestinian State

With a gaggle of delusional national leaders lining up to recognize a utopian Palestinian State living in peace with Israel, let us take a full bottle of realism pills. The so-called “Palestinian” people had their chance at a self-governed “Palestinian” state in Gaza. They elected the terrorist group Hamas to govern them and from the very day Israel turned over Gaza to this “Palestinian” entity in 2005, nearly 32,000 rockets/missiles and over 6,500 mortars have been fired into Israel by these peaceful Palestinians, mostly aimed at civilians. The “Palestinian” goal is fully stated in the slogan “from the river to the sea.” This explicitly means the “Palestinians” want to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth. Genocide of the Israeli people.
Let’s look at the history: In August 2005, then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon unilaterally gave up Gaza as a peace offering to the Palestinians in an event called disengagement. The Palestinians answered with the slogan “Gaza today, Jerusalem tomorrow.” Palestinian leaders at the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, and at Islamic Jihad claimed victory and demanded Jerusalem. On August 15, 2005, The Daily Jot reported that former Sharon cabinet member Benjamin “Netanyahu called disengagement an “evil” and urged Members of the Knesset to stop it. He said he has warned the Sharon government that the Palestinians will only use the Gaza land to establish a terrorist base of operations and that the nation of Israel’s defense and security may be undermined by disengagement.” And that’s just what they did. US military raid in Syria eliminates ISIS leader-in-waiting, key financier

The U.S. military carried out a raid in northern Syria on Tuesday, killing a senior ISIS figure who had been poised to become the group’s next leader in the country, a U.S. official told Fox News.
A key ISIS financial official was also killed in the operation, the official said, noting that both men had been actively planning attacks in Syria and Iraq. No U.S. forces were injured.
On the background of a U.S. official to Fox News, the raid was described as a "successful operation" targeting a senior ISIS member assessed to be a strong candidate to assume the role of ISIS Syria Emir, a position that would have posed a direct threat to U.S. and Coalition forces as well as the new Syrian government.
No civilians were injured or killed, and there were no injuries to U.S. or Coalition forces.
The operation is part of continued U.S. counterterrorism efforts in the region following ISIS’s territorial defeat in Syria and Iraq in 2019.
"We will continue to pursue ISIS terrorists with unwavering determination throughout the region," the official added, stressing that the U.S. and its partners remain committed to ensuring the lasting defeat of ISIS and the protection of the homeland.

Any parent who’s followed the headlines about what goes on in America’s classrooms almost certainly has some anxiety about the environment their children are being exposed to on a daily basis. But if you’re one of those parents who’s concerned about how you can protect your children from the secular messages and ideologies your kids are going to confront, there’s hope.
First of all, it’s important for moms and dads to realize that this isn’t just an issue for parents who send their kids to public schools. “I do emphasize to them, even if your child does not go to a school that fights against your values, they are living in a culture that fights against your values,” Myers stressed. “[If] you homeschool your kids, you still go to the grocery store. They still go through the checkout line. They still see the bearded person walking down the aisle wearing high heels in a dress. They are going to face things that are happening in the culture, and there are three things you do.”
1. Help your children take every thought captive.
2. Make sure they aren’t taken captive.
3. Set the captives free.

a rare black moon is rising this weekend

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder, a rare black moon is set to rise this weekend.
It’s expected in the early hours of Saturday morning, at around 2:06 a.m. EDT, according to the U.S. Naval Observatory. But you don’t need to wake up at 2 a.m. to catch it.
The black moon — which is not an official astronomical term — is different than many well-known moons of the year, such as the pink, harvest, or blood moons.
Unlike the other celestial spectacles, you can’t see this one.
The black moon is a special type of new moon. One of its eight phases, a new moon occurs when the celestial body passes between the Earth and the sun, making it invisible from our planet.
The black moon marks this invisible phase, with the illuminated side facing the sun and the dark side facing Earth.
There are two kinds of black moons: seasonal and monthly. This is a seasonal black moon, which happens once every 33 months or so. The other refers to when two new moons rise during a single month, with the second considered to be the black moon. Read More
