What's new about the 2026 NYE ball in Times Square
|

After midnight strikes, revelers ringing in 2026 at Times Square will get a second treat as red, white and blue confetti rain down to usher in America's 250th anniversary. The nonpartisan organization America250 is teaming up with One Times Square to kick off the semiquincentennial celebration in 2026, which will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. "What better way to ring in 2026 with the iconic global countdown in Times Square," Rosie Rios, the chair of America250, said in an interview that aired on "Good Morning America" Friday.
The nonpartisan organization America250 is teaming up with One Times Square to kick off the 250th anniversary celebration of America in 2026 on Dec. 31, 2025. Along with the special confetti, which will kick off at about 12:04 a.m. ET, the iconic Times Square ball will feature a special design and a finale will highlight a dynamic pyro display set to a rendition of “America the Beautiful” by the late Ray Charles. "It's going to actually be the first time you're going to see this technology deployed in this way ever," Rios said. "So we're excited to be part of this." In addition to the New Year's ball drop, Times Square will also host a second ball drop on July 3, 2026, in honor of Independence Day. 5 Takeaways From Trump’s Meeting With Netanyahu

U.S. President Donald Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the American leader’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida, on Dec. 29, where the leaders discussed updates on the future of the Gaza Strip and continued security threats within the region around Israel.
Trump warned Iran not to resume pursuing a nuclear weapons program at the threat of subsequent strikes, said it would be “horrible” for Hamas if the terrorist organization doesn’t disarm, indicated that his first administration’s Abraham Accords peace agreement would be expanded, and offered some updates on relations with Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon.
At the start of the press conference, Netanyahu announced that for the first time since the founding of the nation of Israel, his country would award its Israel Prize to a non-Israeli: Trump.

Breaking: DOJ Announces 98 Total Arrests in Minnesota Fraud Case - 85 of 'Somali Descent'
|

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Monday that the Department of Justice has already arrested and charged 98 individuals with fraud in Minnesota, 85 of whom are of Somali descent.
What’s more, the attorney general said, there are further prosecutions coming.
The announcement came after a series of videos from YouTuber Nick Shirley that indicated fraud in the Somali community went beyond just the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, in which a Minneapolis-based nonprofit allegedly misappropriated massive sums of money meant to feed at-risk families.
“@TheJusticeDepartment has been investigating this for months. So far, we have charged 98 individuals — 85 of Somali descent — and more than 60 have been found guilty in court,” she continued. (Western Journal) Read more here.

We pray for these convictions to result in the guilty people being removed to their own mother countries so that we don't pay for their incarceration and/or further radicalization within the prison system. Protests erupt in Iran as prices surge and currency hits new low
|
|
Iran is facing its largest demonstrations in years as people hit the streets of Tehran and other cities to protest the country's dismal economic situation.
The protests erupted Sunday and gathered pace Monday after the Islamic Republic’s currency, the rial, hit a record low against the dollar. Many in Iran are already struggling with the cost of living, and rising prices have fueled concerns about potential hyperinflation.
In Tehran, shopkeepers protested near the city’s central bazaar, reminiscent of the Iranian revolution in 1979 when merchants played a key role by shuttering their shops and protesting against the reigning monarch at the time.
A photo from the state-run Fars news agency showed tear gas being fired, though Iran's president urged authorities to listen to the "legitimate demands" of the protesters. The embattled head of the central bank, Mohammad Reza Farzin, resigned Monday, the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported. (NBC News)

Major Cities Scuttle New Year’s Plans Amid Increased Islamist Terror Threats
|

|
Just one week after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard warned of the major threat posed by Islamists, major cities across the United States — and around the world — have altered and even canceled New Year’s celebrations due to security concerns.
In Chicago, state and local officials released a joint threat assessment just before Christmas, and warned that crowded celebrations — such as the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks at Navy Pier — could be “attractive targets” for either domestic or foreign terrorists. They plan to go ahead with the events as planned, but will be increasing security in the area — and will be actively monitoring for potential attacks with drones or by using vehicles to ram crowds.
A threat assessment for the massive New Year’s Eve celebration held in Times Square, New York City, also raised red flags as officials said the largest concerns were potential “lone wolf” actors and small, organized groups. New York City is a symbolically “aspirational target” for would-be terrorists, the assessment stated, also noting the potential for “vehicle ramming attacks.”
“Lone offenders remain a particular concern due to their frequent ability to avoid detection until operational — al-Qa’ida and ISIS, and their supporters, continue to demonstrate an interest in targeting special events in the Homeland, as well as US officials and other perceived enemies,” the assessment read.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said that he would still feel comfortable allowing celebrations to go on if he were in charge, touting the capabilities of the New York Police Department: “If it were me in New York, I would go ahead, but that’s because I know I have the greatest police department in the world.”
The threat assessments come as multiple celebrations and holiday events — from Christmas markets to New Year’s Eve concerts — have been noticeably changed or canceled altogether across Europe amid similar threats of Islamist attacks.
In Salzburg, Austria, the famous Christmas market has had a security overhaul — including security guards and dozens of cameras — and Paris has canceled the annual New Year’s Eve celebration on the Champs- Élysées.
It also comes as Gabbard recently laid out the threat posed — in the United States and around the world — by Islamist ideology.
“It is a political ideology that seeks to create a global caliphate that governs us here in America,” she said, adding, “And if you fail to comply, if you fail to adhere to this ideology, if you dare to exercise your God-given right to free speech, censorship is not what we face. 1. Netanyahu on Fox News: Hamas must disarm or disappear, Gaza peace depends on it - Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s unwavering security stance and growing regional influence in a televised interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier on Tuesday, following extensive talks with US President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
Discussing efforts to reach a second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza, Netanyahu was candid: “One word, disarmament.” He stated that Hamas still possesses 60,000 Kalashnikov rifles and maintains hundreds of kilometers of terror tunnels. “You’ve got to take all these rifles, take them away from them,” he said, noting Hamas’ refusal to disarm is the main obstacle to progress.
On whether the disarmament of Hamas is achievable, Netanyahu remained cautiously optimistic: “I think we have to give it a chance,” noting the possibility of an international stabilization force. “If it can be done the easy way, fine.” (Read more)

2. Knesset advances bill to try October 7 Nukhba terrorists in special military court - Jerusalem Post
The Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee on Tuesday approved the text of a bill that would establish a special military tribunal to prosecute Hamas’s Nukhba terrorists and accomplices for crimes committed during the October 7 attacks – including genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity – while also barring their release in future hostage deals, according to a Knesset press briefing.
Having cleared the committee stage, the bill is expected to be brought to the Knesset plenum for a first reading, subject to a revote in the committee.
The proposed legislation, initiated by committee chair MK Simcha Rothman (Religious Zionist Party) and co-sponsored by MK Yulia Malinovsky (Yisrael Beytenu), would channel indictments to a military court established under emergency regulations, with panels headed by retired district court judges serving as officers, and appeals heard by a panel that could include a retired Supreme Court justice. Rulings would be decided by a majority of judges, and any death sentence would automatically be reviewed on appeal, even if the defendant does not file one. (Read more)

3. Smotrich urges sweeping counter-terror measures amid surge in attacks - JNS
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Monday called for far-reaching counter-terrorism measures, including expanding military operations in Judea and Samaria, as well as dismantling the Palestinian Authority and tougher enforcement against Israelis who employ Palestinians illegally.
“In my view, which has been well known for many years, terrorism is a product of hope. When we cut off that hope, there will be no future for terrorism,” Smotrich told JNS, speaking at the faction meeting of his Religious Zionism Party at the Knesset in Jerusalem on Monday.
The hope of the Palestinians is the destruction of the Jewish state through “establishing a terrorist state, which would be the first stage on the road to our destruction, God forbid,” according to the right-wing minister. (Read more)

4. Israel urges US to keep Erdogan out of Board of Peace - World Israel News
As the second phase of the Gaza cease-fire is imminent, Israel has requested from the Trump administration that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan not be included in the Board of Peace, established to govern Gaza.
Relations between Israel and Turkey have been tense, particularly since the war in Gaza began after Hamas invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Erdogan has welcomed Hamas leaders to his country and has engaged in harsh words against Israel, including criticizing the Jewish state of genocide.
Despite Turkish offers to join the international stabilization force in Gaza, Israel insisted that Turkish troops not take part.
The U.S., which considers Turkey an ally, has stressed that Ankara should have a role to play in the governance of postwar Gaza. (Read more)

5. 7,000-year-old pottery unearthed at Noah's Ark site - Israel Hayom
Ceramic artifacts estimated to be 7,000 years old have been unearthed at Turkey's Durupinar Formation in the Dogubayazit region near Mount Ararat, Turkish media sources indicated, according to the Daily Mail.
The boat-shaped geological structure, measuring 538 feet in length, has remained central to discussions of Noah's Ark for many decades, the Daily Mailreported, as Biblical texts identify it as the legendary vessel's ultimate resting place.
A group of US scientists recently employed radar-based mapping technology to chart what may be remnants of Noah's Ark beneath the site's surface, the Daily Mail noted.
The ceramic pieces in question, discovered during roadway development near the Durupinar Formation in Agri province, suggest that human presence dated to 5,000 to 7,000 years ago, according to Daily Mail. Dr. Faruk Kaya stated, "The ceramic fragments show that there was human activity in this region during the Chalcolithic period, between 5500 and 3000 BC," Daily Mail reported. The ceramic materials' chronological period aligns with conventional estimates of when the Biblical flood survivor lived, Dr. Kaya indicated, according to the Daily Mail. (Read more)

He called on Walz to take immediate action and stated plainly: “I pray you were not complicit in allowing these centers to survive.”
Emmer noted that Shirley had recently traveled to Minnesota to investigate what he described as “potentially the largest fraud scandal in U.S. history” involving the funneling of billions in taxpayer dollars through Somali-run businesses and public service operations, including daycares, transportation services, and healthcare providers. Emmer cited estimates that more than $9 billion in taxpayer funds had been stolen under Governor Walz’s administration — an amount he noted was nearly equal to Somalia’s entire Gross Domestic Product (GDP). We pray for this state to be cleansed with the purifying fires of God and that the poison is washed into the abyss and holiness replaces it with righteousness, in Jesus' name. Tina Peters spent her Christmas Day in prison in Colorado. Despite having committed no crimes in her role as the elections head in Mesa County, Peters sits in prison. Despite being pardoned by President Trump, Peters sits in prison.
Tina Peters was performing her duties as the head of elections in Mesa County, Colorado, when she backed up election files before an “upgrade” mandated by the Secretary of State, Jena Griswold. When the results from before the “upgrade” were compared to the results after the “upgrade”, Tina found out that they differed. This was why she had to be imprisoned.
After facing a kangaroo court in Colorado, backed by Federal operators like Chris Wray and Merrick Garland, Tina was sent to prison for 9 years.
This is not the case with gang-banger, wife-beater, human trafficker Kilmar Abrego Garcia. He was deported and brought back by the courts. After a long story of the far-left judges fighting to keep him in this country and out of prison, Garcia was allowed to spend Christmas with his family. (Read more)

Father God, this nightmare enveloping Gold-Star Mom Tina Peters is made all the more cruel by the media and justice-system hand-clapping over this bad guy. We ask for Your wisdom and anointing to respond forcefully to an online post comparing the treatment of these two people which was censored by Google as containing "dangerous or derogatory content". This is un-American and un-Constitutional and we pray for justice in this ugly matter, in Jesus's name.

3. Trump DOJ slams door on welfare for illegal aliens, ends Clinton-era loophole draining taxpayer dollars - The Blaze
As the Trump administration continues to clean up the administrative state, the Department of Justice just landed a potentially significant victory. In a major reversal, the Department of Justice has discarded a decades-old interpretation of a law that essentially allowed illegal aliens to collect welfare benefits.
The previous interpretation, stemming from the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 under Democratic President Bill Clinton, extended welfare to illegal aliens by splitting hairs between mandatory and discretionary spending. The DOJ previously directed the Departments of Health and Human Services and Housing and Urban Development to interpret this phrase to allow the extension of benefits to illegal aliens under discretionary benefit programs.
The opinion says that despite this clearly stated purpose, the old interpretation led to unrestricted discretionary funds flowing to illegal aliens over the ensuing decades from "many federal agencies." (Read more)

We pray for the DOJ to work out this matter according to righteousness and justice, in Jesus' name. May the people who have been dependent on welfare for so long, be eager to take advantage of President Trump's financial incentive to return to their home countries. We pray for continued restoration of the laws and interpretations of them to benefit the Constitutional governing of our nation, in Jesus' name.

4. Nuclear Firm Working With Chinese Military Companies Pushes for $900 Million US Uranium Contract - Free Beacon
On its face, Orano Federal Services, a North Carolina-based nuclear fuel cycle company, is a plausible partner for a $900 million Department of Energy contract to produce uranium for America's nuclear plants. But the firm's parent company, the French majority state-owned Orano Group, works with two Chinese military companies to boost Beijing's nuclear power industry, something experts and industry officials warn should disqualify the firm from receiving U.S. taxpayer dollars.
For its part, Orano seeks to build a billion-dollar enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
"Department of Energy grants should not be used to develop Communist China's nuclear industry," Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.), the chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, told the Washington Free Beacon in a statement. Holy One, we agree with Sen. Tom Cotton that our government must not be releasing our financial resources and military intelligence to those who intend to overthrow this nation. We know the communist government agenda of China is to rule the world, especially the U.S., so we pray for that plan to be defeated and that China would instead turn to righteousness in the Kingdom of God. 5. GOP Rep to Force Vote on Expelling Ilhan Omar from Congress - Western Journal
Rep. Randy Fine, a Republican from Florida, is reportedly considering a move that would force a vote to expel Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, from her seat in the House of Representatives.
Fine told Axios on Wednesday that the potential action would be spurred by Omar purportedly marrying her brother, as well as her “general embrace of Muslim terror.”

Father, we pray for righteousness in our Congress. We know this Congresswoman has been advancing the cause of Islam, Somalia and Palestine at the expense of our nation. We pray for her to be removed from power in the governing and intelligence of our nation, in Jesus' name. We bless Rep. Fine for his efforts, even though it is very likely that the vote would not pass, however, we pray for it to wake up those who may be in a position to bring about change for goodness, in Jesus' name.

6. Brown University Head of Public Safety on Leave After Janitor Reveals Security Ignored Warnings of Suspicious Actor on Campus - Free Beacon
Brown University's head of public safety, Rodney Chatman, was placed on administrative leave Monday after a janitor revealed that he saw a suspicious person lurking around campus in the weeks leading up to the December 13 shooting—a person who ended up being the gunman, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente.
Both Brown and Providence authorities faced significant criticism over their response to the shooting, which killed two people and injured nine. The university waited nearly 20 minutes before sending out an emergency alert and never sounded its sirens. Chatman himself is no stranger to scrutiny, having faced two votes of no confidence this year, and officers accused him of ignoring complaints that his department had failed to adequately respond to shooting and bomb threats. He joined Brown in 2021 after his predecessor resigned amid calls from student activists to abolish police.
On Monday, Brown janitor Derek Lisi told the Boston Globe that in the weeks leading up to the December 13 shooting, he saw a suspicious person nearly a dozen times "circling the hallways," peering into classrooms, and hiding in bathrooms to avoid being noticed. Lisi believed the individual was trying to steal something, noting that the person paid attention to one room in particular. That room, it later turned out, was where Neves Valente carried out his attack. (Read more)

We pray for this janitor who stepped up and did what he could to intervene and thank You for blessing him. We pray for changes to take place at Brown University that will stop such complacency and protect students and staff in their coming and going, in Jesus' name.

Tax Dollars, Terror Ties and the Machine that Protects Corruption

The GAO recently dropped a report showing how easily Obamacare’s insurance tax credits can be gamed. They created fake people, fake documents, fake income, and the system waved them right through. Billions in taxpayer subsidies are flowing to identities that don’t exist, while the government shrugs and keeps writing checks. This is what happens when sprawling programs are built with more ideology than guardrails. The Democratic political class keeps defending the structure, even as watchdogs say fraud is baked into it. Fraud, waste, and abuse aren’t side effects. They’ve become part of the operating model, and the people footing the bill are the very ones being told to “trust the system” as it leaks like a sieve.
Minnesota gives another example, and it’s even uglier. Medicaid and welfare fraud tied to Somali-run nonprofits already has cost taxpayers hundreds of millions. Some of those funds, according to federal investigators, made their way overseas, potentially into the hands of the terrorist group Al-Shabaab. That means Minnesotans unknowingly subsidized an international terrorist group through a domestic welfare pipeline. President Donald Trump and his senior advisers asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to change Israel’s West Bank policies during their Monday meeting, Axios reported Tuesday, citing a US official and another source with direct knowledge.
The report said the White House fears further violence in the West Bank could derail implementation of the Gaza peace agreement and hinder efforts to widen normalization. The White House declined to comment on the president’s private meetings, according to Axios.
According to Axios, Trump’s team conveyed that a violent escalation in the West Bank would undercut the Gaza agreement and complicate efforts to expand the Abraham Accords.
The sources said the president and his advisers asked Netanyahu to avoid provocative steps and “calm things down,” raising concerns about settler violence, Palestinian Authority finances, and settlement expansion.
Axios reported that Netanyahu’s government policies were cited by the sources as weakening the Palestinian Authority, expanding settlements, legalizing outposts, displacing Palestinian communities, and moving toward de-facto annexation. The report added that Washington’s message was that changing course in the West Bank is critical to repairing ties with European countries and to any further growth of the Abraham Accords. Holy One, as much as we wish to support President Trump and his administration, when it comes to matters regarding our policy towards Israel, we do need to tread very carefully. The matters cited in this article are all very complex and should be left to P.M. Netanyahu and his administration to determine.

Ukraine denies drone attack on Putin's residence

President Volodymyr Zelensky has denied allegations by Russia that Ukraine launched a drone attack on one of President Vladimir Putin's residences, and accused Moscow of trying to derail peace talks.
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed Kyiv had launched an attack over Sunday night using 91 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Putin's state residence in Russia's northwestern Novgorod region. Russia said it would now review its position in peace negotiations. It is not yet clear where Putin was at the time of the alleged attack.
Zelensky dismissed the claim as "typical Russian lies", intended to give the Kremlin an excuse to continue attacks on Ukraine.
He said that Russia had previously targeted government buildings in Kyiv, and warned that its latest claim could signal further strikes on Ukraine.
"Everyone must be vigilant now. Absolutely everyone. A strike may be launched on the capital," Zelensky told journalists on Monday, adding that Russia's comments were a "threat". He said Russia was "looking for reasons" to continue its attacks on Ukraine and that it saw progress towards a ceasefire as a "failure".
Zelensky added on X: "It is critical that the world doesn't stay silent now. We cannot allow Russia to undermine the work on achieving a lasting peace." (BBC) Read more here.

Ritual bath bearing ash uncovered in Jerusalem testifies to Second Temple destruction, archaeologists say

Excavations beneath the Western Wall Plaza uncovered a rock-hewn mikveh, or ritual bath, dating to the final days of the Second Temple period, which researchers say provides insight into the days leading up to the Romans' destruction of Jerusalem and the burning of the Jewish temple.
During excavations conducted by the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, the mikveh was found sealed beneath a layer from the Second Temple period and dates back to 70 A.D., the IAA announced on Monday.
The excavations beneath the Western Wall Plaza took place near the site of the ancient Temple, with the Great Bridge to the north and Robinson's Arch to the south, which once served as the main entrances to the Temple around 2,000 years ago.
As the IAA noted, the mikveh bears ash remains that testify to the destruction of the Temple and most of the city of Jerusalem by the Romans. The Roman destruction of the Second Temple ended the sacrificial system that had once been the center of Jewish worship, in addition to triggering widespread slaughter and the scattering of many Jewish communities.
"The exposure of a Second Temple period ritual bath beneath the Western Wall Plaza, with ashes from the destruction at its base, testifies like a thousand witnesses to the ability of the people of Israel to move from impurity to purity, from destruction to renewal,” Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, the director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, said in a statement.
