US to send 200 troops to train Nigerian forces to fight Islamic terrorists
|
|
The United States will send 200 troops to Nigeria to train the country’s military to combat Islamist terrorists. The new deployment follows recent U.S. airstrikes and President Donald Trump’s warnings over the Nigerian government’s handling of attacks against Christians. The troops are expected to arrive in phases over the next few weeks and will be based at multiple locations across Nigeria to support training and coordination, a military official told The Wall Street Journal.
Nigerian authorities said the troops will not engage in direct combat but will provide technical guidance for operations, including air and infantry coordination.
The decision to increase U.S. involvement comes amid renewed concern in Washington over the spread of Islamist violence in Nigeria, particularly by Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province, or ISWAP.
Nigerian military spokesperson Maj. Gen. Samaila Uba said that the government had requested the expanded support. A spokesperson for U.S. Africa Command called the threat from West African terror groups serious and ongoing, saying that the U.S. is seeking to work with capable partners in the region to address common security challenges. Nothing Definitive on Iran, Trump Says of Meeting with Netanyahu

“I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see whether or not a deal can be consummated,” the U.S. president wrote. “If it can, I let the prime minister know that will be a preference.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss negotiations with Iran was inconclusive and that the United States would continue talking with the Islamic Republic.
“There was nothing definitive reached other than I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see whether or not a deal can be consummated,” Trump wrote.
“If it can, I let the prime minister know that will be a preference,” Trump stated. “If it cannot, we will just have to see what the outcome will be.”
Trump and Netanyahu met at the White House about two and a half hours during the Israeli premier’s seventh visit to the United States since Trump resumed office.
Talks between the United States and Iran, which began in Oman on Friday, were nearly scuttled at the last minute when Iran insisted that the discussions be relocated from their original site in Turkey and be limited to Iran’s nuclear program.(JNS.org) Read more |

Justice or Double Standard? DOJ Hears Testimony on Synagogue Attack in New Jersey and Selective Prosecution

Dr. Moshe Glick began his testimony before the Justice Department’s Religious Liberty Commission with a criminal indictment—his own. “Esteemed members,” he said, “I am a grandfather and likely the only panelist here charged with four felonies.” He paused, then added, “You can call yourself a civil rights activist until you are charged with four felonies. My crime? Defending a 70-year-old man.”
Glick told the commission that an “unauthorized protest blocked and intimidated worshipers,” disrupting what he described as a “peaceful Jewish-Christian gathering.”
Glick’s ordeal began on November 13, 2024, when a Jewish-Christian gathering was held in Teaneck, New Jersey, focusing on prayers for the safe return of hostages from Gaza and discussions about purchasing homes in Israel. As attendees entered the synagogue, a protest erupted outside. According to court filings and video evidence cited in federal proceedings, protesters blocked the entrance, shouted at worshipers, and physically confronted several attendees. One man was reportedly placed in a chokehold and body-slammed to the ground. Glick intervened, using a flashlight to stop the assault. “I stepped in and stopped the brutal assault,” he told the panel. “The only one arrested was me.”
Following the incident, Glick was charged with four felonies, including aggravated assault and weapons offenses connected to the flashlight he had carried. In contrast, those who had initiated the violence faced no charges. He described the first indictment as “so flawed the prosecutors abandoned it,” but a second indictment was issued, exposing him to years in prison, potential loss of professional licenses, and separation from his wife and children. Glick refused plea deals, stating, “That would have meant I had done something wrong for defending against a vicious assault.”
The case eventually drew federal attention. In May 2025, the Department of Justice filed federal charges under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, marking one of the first instances of the federal government pursuing legal action to protect a synagogue after a mob attack.
In January 2026, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy granted Glick a full pardon. “I was never convicted of a crime,” he told the commission. “I am thankful to Governor Murphy.”

Antisemitism Commission Hearing Hijacked by Antisemitism: Panel Member Attacks Jewish Witnesses Over Israel

The White House Religious Liberty Commission held a hearing on antisemitism on Monday in Washington. What unfolded was a bitter irony: a meeting designed to combat Jew-hatred became a platform for it, as one commissioner wearing what appeared to be a Palestinian flag pin spent the session attacking Jewish witnesses for supporting Israel.
Carrie Prejean Boller, a Catholic conservative activist and former Miss California, transformed what should have been a forum for Jewish Americans to testify about their experiences with antisemitism into an interrogation. After former UCLA law student Yitzy Frankel, Yeshiva University President Ari Berman, Harvard alum Shabbos Kestenbaum, and former Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl described facing hatred following the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attacks, Prejean Boller revealed she had been tallying their words.
“Since we’ve mentioned Israel a total of 17 times, are you willing to condemn what Israel has done in Gaza?” she demanded of the Jewish witnesses. “You won’t condemn that? Just on the record.”
The absurdity was unmistakable. Jewish Americans invited to testify about antisemitism were being hectored to denounce the Jewish state as a condition of being heard. Prejean Boller insisted her hostility toward Israel stems from Catholic doctrine. “Catholics do not embrace Zionism, just so you know. So are all Catholics antisemites?” she asked, drawing boos from the audience. “I want to be clear on what the definition of antisemitism is. If I don’t support the political state of Israel, am I an antisemite, yes or no?”
Prejean Boller also mounted an aggressive defense of Candace Owens, the right-wing influencer who was dropped from a Trump campaign event in 2024 after backlash over her regular antisemitic commentary on social media and her podcast. “I listen to her daily,” Prejean Boller said. “I haven’t heard one thing out of her mouth that I would say is antisemitic.” (Israel365news.com) Read more |

Pro-Life, Pro-Family Members of Congress Stand Tall amid Washington’s Political Chaos

Friday’s deadline to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) looms ever nearer, but “the two sides are pretty far apart,” acknowledged House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). Unless a deal is reached, this will be the third time Senate Democrats have shut down at least part of the government since October. But, amid the scorched-earth political gambits, a whopping 260 members of Congress stood firm for pro-life, pro-family policies.
On February 3, Congress agreed to a five-bill appropriations package, with a two-week continuing resolution on DHS to allow time for negotiations. That time window will expire on Friday, which means the government could see another partial shutdown over the same issue. While most of the government will remain open, the shutdowns will affect agencies like TSA and FEMA, which could lead to visible effects.
But “The pro-life community is not going to approve federal funding of abortion,” insisted Senator Bill Cassidy (R-La.) to TWS. “The pro-choice community, they’re like, ‘It’s no big deal.’ Wait, it’s ‘no big deal’ that there is a child within the womb that is aborted? It’s absurd! And so, it is a clear dividing line, and it’s something that we who believe in life will stand by.”
“Similarly, on … sex-change operations on minors, that should be stopped,” Cassidy added. “And the idea that there’s something moral about it shows a twisted sense of morality.”
Bills such as this one “are emblematic of the attack from these leftists that want to basically recraft America to be a godless, valueless, leftist utopia,” argued Biggs. “We’ve got to stand up and fight against that.”
Meanwhile, the pro-life, pro-family majority in Congress has “got to keep marching forward,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) urged. “We celebrate things like defunding Planned Parenthood, which I fought to do and celebrate, and it’s great. … But mifepristone is still killing babies. So we’ve got a lot of work to do, and we’ve got to keep moving forward.”

1. Hamas vows not to lay down arms until Israel’s ‘elimination’ - JNS
Hamas will not lay down its weapons until Israel is “eliminated,” Osama Hamdan, a senior official in the terror organization, vowed on Wednesday.
“We have been very clear with mediators, and in our messages passed on to the relevant parties, that the matter of Palestinian weapons is linked to the presence or elimination of the occupation,” stated Hamdan, referencing Israel in an interview with Al Jazeera.
“To this day, the Palestinian national motto states that the occupation needs to be eliminated,” he stated. “The weapons are legal according to international law, and by virtue of the will of the Palestinian people, so these weapons will not be laid down until their goal is achieved.” (Read more)

2. Israel’s Netanyahu Says Trump May Be Creating Conditions for Iran Deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said he hoped that US President Donald Trump was creating the conditions to reach a deal with Iran that would avoid military action.
Netanyahu, who met Trump for talks in Washington on Wednesday, said he had expressed “general skepticism” and said that if an agreement was reached, “it must include the elements that are vital to Israel.”
They include a halt to Iran‘s nuclear program, limits on its ballistic missiles, and Iran’s proxies, he added.
Wednesday’s meeting was the seventh between Trump and Netanyahu since Trump returned to office last year. Netanyahu – whose visit was more muted than usual and closed to the press – was looking to influence the next round of US discussions with Iran following nuclear negotiations held in Oman last Friday. The official X account of US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace announced on Thursday that Israel has joined the international organization as a founding member.
With that, Israel is now among 27 other countries that are members of the Council: the United States, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Paraguay, Pakistan, Morocco, Mongolia, Kuwait, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Indonesia, Hungary, Egypt, El Salvador, Cambodia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Bahrain, Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Argentina.

4. Israel’s new threat: Terrorist invasion via UAVs - World Israel News
The Israel Defense Forces is investigating a new type of threat: a cross-border invasion by thousands of terrorists carried by unmanned aerial vehicles.
During a visit to a military post in the country’s south last month, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir was shown a drone caught crossing the Egyptian border.
This drone, with two strong handles at the bottom, is capable of lifting up to 187 pounds, according to Channel 12 News.
Footage from Zamir’s visit showed one of the soldiers grasping the UAV’s handles while the aircraft hovered above the ground, after which it lifted the soldier into the air.

5. PA drafts constitution, omits Jewish ties to Jerusalem, calls for Sharia legal system - Jerusalem Post
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas ordered the publication of the draft constitution for a Palestinian state earlier this week, the PA's official news agency WAFA announced.
The full draft of the constitution, read by The Jerusalem Post, omitted Jewish ties to Jerusalem in Article III, claiming it as the "capital of the State of Palestine, and its political, spiritual, cultural, and educational center, as well as its national symbol," and committed to "preserving its religious character and protecting its Islamic and Christian sanctuaries."
The same article called on the state to commit to protecting Jerusalem's "legal, political, and historical status," and affirmed that "any measures to change its character or historical identity are considered null and void according to international law." (Read more)

1. Theological Liberalism Has Become A Dangerous Rival To Biblical Christianity – Prophecy Newswatch
Theologian Al Mohler condemned Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear's (D) recent use of the Bible on "The View," presumably to explain why he vetoed legislation banning transgender procedures for minors, and warned that theological liberalism has become a rival religion to biblical Christianity.
"These days, it's hard to be astounded by something absolutely ridiculous, or worse, coming from an officeholder when it comes to political office," Mohler, the president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, said in a Monday X post.
"And frankly, if you're coming up with a catalog of stupid things said on programs like ABC's 'The View,' you'd better get ready for a very long list. But I don't care how long your list is, this one's going to rank at the top of stupid."
Mohler went on to show a clip of Beshear's Monday appearance on "The View," where the governor claimed his actions in office are driven by his Christian faith. "Most of the decisions I make are based on that Golden Rule that says we love our neighbor as yourself, and that parable [of] the Good Samaritan that says everyone is our neighbor," he said. Jehovah Adonai,
You are our almighty ruler and covenant keeper. Forgive the Democratic lawmakers that were dismissive of a congressional hearing this week that exposed the growing threat of Sharia law in the United States. Father, we ask for protection and wisdom for Republican Chip Roy for bringing this to our attention for prayer. Lord, protect the United States of America and our people from radical Sharia law that most Muslims adhere to because of the Quran. God, we bind the mocking spirits that are in our government that are saying that to impose these anti-Sharia and anti-Muslim law is like unto "Christian white nationalism ideology." When leaders and celebrities talk about federal force, they’re shaping more than a narrative, they’re shaping permission structures.In the last few weeks, the language around the Minneapolis deaths has escalated past “accountability” and into moral verdicts, the kind that make a hotheaded person feel like a hero. Call it political theater, call it activism, call it outrage. The effect is the same: a steady drip of words that turn a policy fight into an existential battle. And once the public believes they’re fighting evil, restraint starts to look like cowardice. That’s how you get a climate where a lone actor doesn’t need a direct order. He just needs a story, a villain, and a crowd that cheers the match being struck.
Start with the word “execution.” That term isn’t a question, it’s a conviction. It implies intent, illegitimacy, and tyranny, and it invites retaliation more than reform. You’ve got elected officials and political voices labeling the killing of Renée Nicole Good a “public execution,” and others calling the death of Alex Pretti an “execution” based on video and outrage. When a member of the California legislature puts “public execution” in an official statement, and members of Congress and party leaders use the same framing, the audience hears a clear message: the government is murdering citizens in the street. Stonewall's Rainbow Falls: Trump Pulls Pride Flag from 'Birthplace' of Modern LGBT Movement

The Stonewall National Monument, located in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, has become the epicenter of LGBT-related symbolism. Having been designated by President Obama in 2016, this is the location of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, which many have argued to be the birthplace for the so-called LGBT rights movement. But now, the Trump administration has directed the National Park Service (NPS) to remove a large rainbow Pride flag from the monument, causing a flurry of both outrage and celebration.
The change came quietly over the weekend of February 7-9 in conjunction with a January 2026 memorandum from the Department of the Interior. Signed by NPS Acting Director Jessica Bowron, the guidance is meant to reinforce a longstanding federal policy that only the U.S. flag, the Department of the Interior flag, and the POW/MIA flag are permitted on NPS-managed flagpoles. While there are a narrow set of exceptions — like historical flags in context, military banners, or those of federally recognized tribal nations — there remains no special exemption for advocacy, activist, or identity-based symbols.
Predictably, leftist voices erupted in outrage. Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal, for example, claimed in an Instagram post that the removal was part of an attempt to “erase” LGBT-related history, further noting that this very history “cannot” be erased, and that “our Pride flag will be raised again.” New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin (D) echoed this, calling it “a deliberate and cowardly attempt to erase that history” and “an attack on LGBTQ+ New Yorkers.” Menin insisted that “our history will not be rewritten, and our rights will not be rolled back.”
Government officials chimed in as well, with State Senator Erik Bottcher claiming the move was “a shameful attempt to rewrite history. Stonewall is where our community fought back and demanded to be seen. You cannot separate that place from the symbol that grew out of it.”
Yet despite this criticism, NPS officials have firmly emphasized that this isn’t about diminishing historical events. In a statement, they clarified: “Under government-wide guidance, including General Services Administration policy and Department of the Interior direction, only the U.S. flag and other congressionally or departmentally authorized flags are flown on NPS-managed flagpoles, with limited exceptions. Any changes to flag displays are made to ensure consistency with that guidance. Stonewall National Monument continues to preserve and interpret the site’s historic significance through exhibits and programs.”
This action reflects the Trump administration’s federal guidance at Stonewall: refocusing public institutions on shared national identity rather than divisive activism. And so, as critics frame this as an assault on rights, supporters see it as common-sense governance that puts America first, honors the flag that unites all Americans, and stops turning national landmarks into platforms for one-sided activism. Father, thank you for a President that speaks truth and has now pulled down the Pride Flag from the 'Birthplace' of the modern LGBTQ Movement at the Stonewall National Monument in Manhattan. Lord, we pray for all those who have been caught up in this unrighteous movement. May they open their eyes to see that they are going against the laws of Your word. Forgive them, Father, and forgive their ignorance for they know not what they do. God, for those who have erupted in outrage over this decision, we ask that the eyes of truth will enlighten them to see that divisive activism is not of You and remind them that 'Pride' cometh before the fall. Foreign nationals are quietly bankrolling leftist causes throughout the United States, several witnesses told House lawmakers on Tuesday.
The concerning news came during a House Ways and Means Committee hearing focused on noncitizens pouring foreign dollars into U.S.-based nonprofit organizations. These groups, many of the witnesses said, are employing such funds to advance left-wing causes and policy priorities across the country.
“It’s refreshing to have a hearing where all witnesses share strong agreement on a central point, namely, foreign money should be kept out of American politics,” said Capital Research Center President Scott Walter. “A lot of these [foreign funding] problems involve America’s nonprofit sector, which is traditionally a glory and a strength of this exceptional country. But foreigners abuse this sector — especially tools like fiscal sponsorship and donor-advised funds, which aren’t inherently bad things — in order to hide their influence ops.”
“The precise reason ... foreign billionaire can do this is because foreign money running through foundations and nonprofits to influence policy and advocacy is not prohibited,” APT Executive Director Caitlin Sutherland said. “This has allowed Mr. Wyss to keep the lights on at numerous left-wing nonprofits around town, including giving $280 million to Sixteen Thirty Fund, $30 million to the League of Conservation Voters network, $9 million to the ACLU network, and $7 million to Indivisible — the chief organization leading nationwide protests.”
The APT executive director also highlighted the interference of British billionaire Christopher Hohn and other foreign charities in bankrolling U.S.-based leftist causes — particularly those pushing the left’s climate agenda.
Foreigners’ subsidization of left-wing activities throughout the United States isn’t exclusive to ballot measure campaigns and environmentalism, however. It also appears to be a significant component of ongoing anti-ICE demonstrations in major American cities.
According to Fox News, House lawmakers launched a probe into Singham last year “for his alleged involvement in funding the anti-ICE riots that took place in Los Angeles.” Singham has since faced renewed scrutiny amid allegations that he has bankrolled groups that are purportedly helping fan the flames of recent anti-ICE demonstrations in Minneapolis, Minnesota, following the deaths of two anti-ICE activists.
“This is not grassroots protest. It is a repeatable system for paralyzing American infrastructure on demand, financed through U.S. tax law and aligned with a hostile foreign power,” Sohn said in reference to Singham’s reported activities. “It is an active vulnerability we cannot afford to leave intact.”
For their part, House Democrats and their witness (Public Citizen Co-President Robert Weissman) spent most of their time attacking one man: Donald Trump. Reliance on Green Energy Is Straining the Grid: Watchdog Corp

Just two weeks ago, a devastating winter storm left many in the United States without power. And, according to a grid watchdog group, the blackouts are likely to continue for as long as our grid relies on wind and solar power.
During January’s Winter Storm Fern, many parts of the U.S. grid neared the point where demand exceeded supply. If the grid continues to shut down fossil-fuel generation and tries to meet demand with intermittent wind and solar, according to NERC, more Americans will face blackouts when demand is high.
As electricity demand grows, including data centers, the nation’s grid is relying on intermittent wind and solar resources to meet that growing demand, NERC explains, while plants running on reliable coal and natural gas are slated for retirement over the next five years. “The continuing shift in the resource mix toward weather-dependent resources and less fuel diversity increases risks of supply shortfalls during winter months,” NERC warns.
According to Just the News, the shortcomings of this push for renewable energy were demonstrated clearly by the winter storm in late January. Apparently, states in New England, facing power shortages and blackouts, decided to use coal-based power in order to keep the lights on in their cities.

We come before you this day to intercede for the literal power structure—the electrical grid--in the U.S. As we approach Your throne of grace, mercy and power, we ask that You remember Your call on the United States to be a faithful friend of Your nation, Israel, and to labor tirelessly beside You to proclaim Your gospel throughout the world and assist in gathering the Harvest of souls. On this basis, Lord, we ask for Your provision for an improved and sovereignly protected electrical grid system throughout our nation so that we may carry on with Your divine calling. May Your Spirit warn our President and legislators that the grid is of critical importance at this time and must be dealt with now. Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., on Thursday called for Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison to resign and suggested he should face criminal charges, accusing him of assisting people later charged in a sprawling welfare fraud scheme.
The confrontation came during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing in which Hawley questioned Ellison, an elected Democrat, about his actions surrounding the nonprofit Feeding Our Future, which was at the center of a $250 million scheme to defraud a child nutrition program during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hawley pointed to a meeting in December 2021 between Ellison and people who were later indicted, arguing that the Minnesota attorney general surreptitiously attempted to help them during what public records say was a 54-minute encounter.
Hawley said Ellison accepted $10,000 in campaign donations days after the meeting from individuals later charged. "You helped fraudsters defraud your state and this government … and you got a fat campaign contribution out of it," Hawley said, yelling, "You ought to be indicted."
Hawley later added that Ellison "ought to be in jail." "Well, see what you can do about it," Ellison shot back.
The Minnesota attorney general forcefully denied the accusations, saying Hawley was "cherry-picking quotes" and mischaracterizing the meeting. Ellison said he did not help the defendants. His office assisted with information that led to prosecutions and convictions in the broader investigation, Ellison said.
The entire exchange was loud and contentious as both men interrupted one another, prompting committee chairman Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., to interject at one point and call for lowering the temperature. (Fox News) Read more here.

La Niña nearly dead, brewing El Niño to arrive during peak hurricane season

MIAMI – The latest climate forecast from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) shows that an El Niño climate pattern is on track to arrive midway through hurricane season — a pattern that has historically suppressed hurricane and other tropical development in the Atlantic Ocean.
El Niño is one of three climatological phases of the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) that describe natural changes in Pacific Ocean temperatures and atmospheric circulation that can greatly influence global weather.
El Niño describes warmer conditions, while La Niña describes colder conditions, and ENSO neutral refers to a state where temperatures are close to average.
Throughout the winter, conditions remained in a La Niña state, as the eastern U.S. saw rounds of Arctic air plunge temperatures, fueling an active stretch of winter storms that brought the most snow that many places in the Northeast have seen in recent years.
According to NOAA, the ENSO has begun the transition toward a neutral state, with signals that El Niño will arrive this summer — timing that's on track with last year's long-range forecasts.
There is a 50–60 percent chance El Niño conditions develop right as the heart of hurricane season gets underway, according to the latest guidance.
