DC church sees 2,000% growth as Gen Z, millennials seek answers through faith
|
|
A Southern Baptist church in Washington, D.C., says it has seen a 2,000% growth in attendance over the last seven years, a trend that the congregation’s leaders attribute mostly to Generation Z and millennials gradually returning to religious life after the COVID-19 lockdowns and, more recently, the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk. After a period of stagnant growth in its first few years, the King’s Church now has nearly 600 members, according to Ben Palka, one of the church's three pastors who also helped establish the church in the nation's capital in 2018. “We just had a lot of grit, a lot of God’s grace the first couple of years to endure the storm,” Palka said. “And then during COVID, we decided to stay open, and the Lord really blessed that time. We grew. It felt like every month we doubled.”
From 2020 to today, the church, located blocks from the U.S. Capitol, has usually had about 600 to 700 people in attendance, Palka told The Christian Post. Like many churches, attendance numbers are verified by weekly church attendance and membership rosters. “We saw an influx of young people, particularly in 2020, and that was like a snowball effect,” Palka explained. “And we saw a lot of people who previously were not very serious about their faith get really serious about their faith. And we saw dozens and dozens of people — we see it every year — coming to faith in Christ.” Wesley Welch, another staff pastor at King’s Church, also said that after a period of stagnant growth from 2018 to 2020, a “revival” occurred in the middle of 2020. According to Welch, the trend has continued, and it’s “growing fast.” (Christian Post) Read More Here

Abba, we thank You for the news of Generation Z and Millennials returning to faith! We celebrate the amazing growth of King's Church in Washington, D.C., especially after the tragic death of Charlie Kirk. We pray this growth would continue within Holy Spirit-filled churches across our nation! In the Name of Yeshua, we pray a harvest of new believers into the Kingdom of God and a return of all prodigals back to faith! May there be a thirst for Your Holy Word and genuine desire to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. By the Blood of the Lamb, we pray- Amen.

Brewing nor'easter to 'bomb' out with Carolinas in bullseye, days after deadly storm raged across the US
|
|
|
As much of the Northeast digs out from the biggest snowstorm in half a decade, New York, Philadelphia, and Boston could all be on track to see another major system on its heels.
|
|
Just days after a powerful, 2,300-mile long winter storm swept across the U.S. and dumped massive amounts of snow on areas, another winter system has the potential to form and hit the East Coast. The FOX Weather Forecast Center is monitoring a potential nor'easter that can "bomb out" and bring more snow and powerful coastal winds from the Carolina's up to the Northeast.
Hot on the heels of a deadly major winter storm that carved its way 2,300 miles across the United States, bringing life-threatening ice and heavy snow to several areas, comes a potential nor'easter that has the strong likelihood to "bomb out."
Regions like the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast saw significant snow over the weekend, and are working to dig out. Nearly 50 deaths have already been reported across 16 states.
Now, a nor'easter is forecast off the East Coast for this upcoming weekend, and is looking increasingly likely to develop into a bomb cyclone. (Fox News) Read more here.
|
|
Abba, Your people in the US need Your help in holding back the possible snow storm brewing off the southeastern coast. We ask You to stop this development so it can't bury the Carolinas, Virginia and the I95 corridor in snow! Holy Spirit, we ask You to move along the eastern coast giving logical thinging and wisdom to those responsible for preparation ahead of this possible storm, may our coastline be ready even as You block the development. Jesus, You gave us Your authority to speak to the weather, so we stand in faith and say NO to this storm, NO to snow, NO to heavy winds, NO to any distructive plans the enemy is trying to put into place. We decree and declare that this low pressure will NOT develop, it will NOT become the potential for a huge snow event, it will NOT become a damaging nor'easter! We ask this in the name El Shaddai, God Almighty, the God who has ultimate power over all things.
"Therefore, confess your sins to each other
and pray for each other so that you
may be healed. The prayer of a righteous
person is powerful and effective."

Patel: We’re Asking Lawful Gun Owners to Be ‘Smart’, ‘It’s Not Smart’ to Bring Gun to MN Situation
|
|
On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” FBI Director Kash Patel stated that in a situation like in Minnesota over the weekend, “it’s not smart to go out there with a fully-loaded weapon. We’re just saying be careful and be reasonable,” and “if you have the right to a permit for a firearm, that’s okay, but you cannot incite violence, and you cannot break the law and attack law enforcement officers.”
Host Sean Hannity asked, [relevant exchange begins around 3:30] “I have told people on-air, [who have asked] well, Hannity, what gun should I get? I said, the one you’re willing to get trained in the safe use of. And I’ve also told stories that…if I knew I was on camera and I could get away from a confrontation, knowing that I had the ability to defend myself, I would turn and hightail it and run, rather than ever have to pull out a weapon. Don’t — if you have a weapon, do you belong in an environment that is as contentious as this weekend, do you bear responsibility, knowing that you have a firearm with you, what that could do to a situation?”
Patel answered, “Well, Sean, like you said, we truly, fully support the 2nd Amendment and people’s right to bear arms. But when you enter into a situation, a volatile situation like Minnesota, where there have been riots on the streets and people attacking federal law enforcement officers and ramming them with vehicles and continued criminality and burning down and literally destroying federal vehicles and stealing information, we have to ask people what’s prudential, what’s smart? And it’s not smart to go out there with a fully-loaded weapon. We’re just saying be careful and be reasonable, like you’ve outlined, if you have the right to a permit for a firearm, that’s okay, but you cannot incite violence, and you cannot break the law and attack law enforcement officers.” (Breitbart) Read more.

Abba, help! The enemy is churning up our nation to levels of anger and rage we haven't seen for awhile, we need You to bring calm and reason back into these circumstances. Father God, we ask You to separate out those who are being paid to incite anger, to start riots, and those who are just regular people who have come because they are truly concerned about the way our government is managing the rioters. Holy Spirit we ask You and Your Angels to spread out across Minneapolis/St. Paul and pour out peace, calm and a willingness to stop and listen as words of truth are spoken. Jesus, we desperately need Your truth to be spoken by all who are representing our government. We need all involved in these circumstances to be totally transparent, irrelevant of what facts come out. We ask for a transparent process to determine exactly what happened with each of those who have been shot. Jesus, Your truth is the only thing that will calm hearts, minds and spirits. We ask this in the name Yahweh Rapha, the God who heals.
"He heals the brokenhearted and
binds up their wounds."

DHS Confirms ICE Will Conduct Enforcement Operations at Super Bowl
|
|
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will conduct enforcement operations at the Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California.
DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told TMZ Sports their mission “remains unchanged” despite unrest in Minnesota.
Per Fox News, DHS adviser Corey Lewandowski said in October that ICE enforcement is a “directive from the president” and will not be stopped for the Super Bowl, which is between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium.
“There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,” Lewandowski said during an interview on “The Benny Show” podcast. “Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find and deport you. That is a very real situation.”
McLaughlin said security at the event “will entail a whole-of-government response conducted in line with the U.S. Constitution.”
“Those who are here legally and are not breaking other laws have nothing to fear,” she added. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Abba, thank You that You know the beginning from the end, and nothing catches You unaware. We are asking You to stop paid agitators from gathering at the Super Bowl. We ask Your angels to pour out the fear of the Lord into the hearts of any who come to cause friction and not to watch the game, give them good reason to "Go Away". Holy Spirit, send out Your warrior angels to bring to light all that is hidden in darkness surrounding the efforts to keep illegals in our country who should not be here, Send them to do battle with the demons of hatred, anger and rage, put an end to the enemy's ability to disrupt our lives. Jesus, You told us to pray big prayers, so we are asking You to destroy all demonic plans and activity that has been set up against our government, especially those in ICE trying to rid our country of dangerous aliens whose intentions are not for the good of our nation, but for their own self interest. We ask You to stand behind and bring to fruition all promises President Trump made to make our country safe again, the promises that Americans voted him into office to complete. We ask this in the name Yahweh Sabaoth, The Lord of Hosts, the God who has the power and authority to accomplish what He determines to do.
"Let everyone be subject to the governing
authorities, for there is no authority
except that which God has established.
The authorities that exist have

Israel Defense Forces: ‘There Are Officially No More Hostages in Captivity in Gaza’
|
|
|
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday morning that “there are officially no more hostages in captivity in Gaza.”
The last body to be recovered was that of Sergeant First Class (SFC) Ran Gvili, who was killed while defending Israeli civilians from the savage Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
Gvili, 24 years old at the time of his death, was a member of the Negev Border Police in the South District of Israel. He was on medical leave due to a broken shoulder from a motorcycle accident and had been scheduled for surgery when Hamas attacked. Heedless of his own injury, he rushed into battle to protect the civilian residents of Kibbutz Alumim and the Nova music festival.
According to the IDF, Gvili was shot in the leg during the battle and died on the scene, but the terrorist gang known as Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) stole his body and wound up holding his remains for 843 days.
The IDF said it found and identified Gvili’s remains after a “focused search” in central Gaza.
“It was unclear on Monday whether or to what degree (Hamas and PIJ) had assisted in pinpointing the location of Sergeant Gvili’s remains. Israel said it had narrowed its search after collecting and refining intelligence on the matter,” the left-wing New York Times (NYT) reported.
“Ran, hero of Israel – he went in first and came out last. This is a great achievement,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an address to the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, on Monday.
“There are no more hostages in Gaza. We have an interest in bringing forward the next stage of the ceasefire, which includes the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and the disarmament of Hamas,” Netanyahu said. (Breitbart)
|
|
Abba, we give You praise and thanksgiving for bringing Ran Gvili home to his family and his nation. Thank You Jesus, that his parents never gave up believing You for his return. We ask Holy Spirit to flow over all of Israel, all of Your people, pouring out peace and heart healing on everyone. Bring Your presence into Your land, let minds and hearts know and feel that You are there, let Your presence produce the peace that passes understanding.
We ask that Hamas now be held to the points of the peace plan that they agreed to. We ask Holy Spirit to send out warrior angels to pour out the Fear of God into the hearts of the Hamas leadership if they begin to walk-back the promises they made. Jesus, we ask that they be held to their word. We ask this in the name El Roi, The God Who Sees everything, and knows our hearts.
"Surely he recognized deceivers; and
when he sees evil, does he not take note?"

China’s Top General Ousted in Xi Jinping’s Latest Military Purge
|
|
|
Gen. Zhang Youxia, the top-ranked vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC), was abruptly removed from his position and placed under investigation for “severe violations of party discipline and state laws” over the weekend.
His ouster sent shockwaves through the Chinese Communist Party, since he was not only a top-tier member of the Politburo, but also a close personal ally of dictator Xi Jinping.
Another high-ranking member of the CMC, Gen. Liu Zhenli, met a similar fate over the weekend, leaving the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) with only one supreme military commander beside Xi himself: Gen. Zhang Shengmin, who was ranked below Zhang and was in charge of disciplinary affairs. Zhang Shengmin gained his seat on the CMC only this past October, when vice chair He Weidong and eight other top generals were purged.
Zhang and Liu were also among the few top Chinese military officers who had actual combat experience, thanks to the China-Vietnam border conflict of 1979. That experience will not be easy for Xi to replace and it could lead to morale problems among PLA troops.
The Chinese Defense Ministry did not offer specifics of the charges against Zhang when it announced his removal on Sunday, but the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) claimed, citing anonymous rumors, that Zhang has been accused of “leaking information about the country’s nuclear-weapons program to the U.S. and accepting bribes for official acts.”
According to the WSJ’s “sources familiar,” Zhang’s breach of security was revealed during the investigation of Gu Jun, formerly general manager of the China National Nuclear Corporation, the state-owned enterprise that oversees both civilian and military nuclear research in China. The probe of Gu allegedly discovered a nuclear security breach, which Zhang was somehow connected to.
Former CIA analyst Jonathan Czin of the Brookings Institution told Reuters that Zhang’s “shocking” removal “means that truly nobody in the leadership is safe now.” (Breitbart)

Abba, We give You praise and glory for allowing the hearts of these top Chinese Generals to be overtaken by corruption and power, thank You that this leaves China in less of a position to invade Taiwan in the near future! Holy Spirit, please send warrior angels to pour out more distrust and fear into the hearts of whatever is left of Xi's leadership team, sow offense and anger to keep this group of leaders off balance and unsure of who can be trusted. Jesus, we ask that Your perfect will be done in China as this upheaval leaves Xi more vulnerable than he has been, allow Your hearts desire to be done in Xi Jinping's life. We ask this in the name Yahweh Shalom, The Lord Our Peace, the God whose love for us gives us peace.

I have no rest, but only turmoil."

1. Adviser to Khamenei: Iran will hit ‘heart of Tel Aviv’ in response to any US attack
- Times of Israel
A top adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, posts on social media in Hebrew that the regime will attack Tel Aviv in response to any strike from the United States.
“The limited strike is an illusion,” Ali Shamkhani posts on X. “Any military activity from America, from any source and at any level, will be considered the beginning of a war, and the response will be immediate, comprehensive and without precedent, and will be directed at the aggressor, to the heart of Tel Aviv and all of its supporters.”
Shamkhani’s post comes amid continued speculation over whether US President Donald Trump will attack Iran in response to its bloody crackdown on anti-regime protests, in which thousands were killed. (Read more)

2. Netanyahu: IDF soldiers paid with their lives due to US arms embargo - JNS
Israel Defense Forces soldiers paid with their lives because of a weapons embargo that ended when U.S. President Donald Trump returned to the White House, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday.
“I have one more thing to tell you, you can get a translation,” Netanyahu said, speaking at the end of a Hebrew-language press briefing that focused on the return of the remains of Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, the last captive taken during the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023.
“I said we paid very heavy prices in the war—the fallen and wounded, truly heavy costs. Part of this is what happens during war,” the prime minister continued. (Read more)

5. Anti-Israel protesters rally around ‘Holy Land Five’ imprisoned for funding Hamas - World Israel News
Anti-Israel activist groups across the United States have launched a “week of solidarity” for two imprisoned members of the Holy Land Foundation, a charity whose leaders were convicted in 2008 of channeling millions of dollars to Hamas.
The campaign centers on Shukri Abu Baker and Ghassan Elashi, who remain behind bars. Three others convicted in the same case have since been released. Organizers claim the men were “wrongfully imprisoned” and allege their prosecution was driven by “Zionist pressure.”
Events are scheduled this week in Austin, Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City, backed by groups including Within Our Lifetime and the Palestine Solidarity Working Group. Planned activities include poetry readings, screenings of an Al Jazeera documentary on the case, a book launch by Abu Baker, and coordinated letter-writing efforts to the prisoners.
The Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development presented itself as a humanitarian nonprofit, but federal prosecutors said the organization instead diverted large sums to Hamas, which the US has designated as a terrorist organization. (Read more)

1. Muslim nonprofit director allegedly ‘misled’ senators over $20M for refugees: watchdogs - New York Post
The director of a controversial Muslim nonprofit is accused of misleading US Senators over the group spent more than $30 million in cash earmarked to resettle refugees, according to watchdog groups.
Senators are probing what happened to the tens of millions of taxpayer funds used for a humanitarian parole program that allowed almost 77,000 Afghan refugees into the country following the 2021 Taliban takeover.
Some of that money was distributed through the California Department of Social Services’ Afghan Legal Services Project (ALSP) and handled by the California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Read more

2. Amazon to cut 16,000 jobs in latest round of layoffs - News Nation
— Amazon plans to cut roughly 16,000 jobs as part of what it called “organizational changes,” marking the company’s second round of mass layoffs since October.
Beth Galetti, a senior vice president, announced the move in a blog post early Wednesday morning, writing that, “While many teams finalized their organizational changes in October, other teams did not complete that work until now.”
In October, the company announced it was cutting 14,000 corporate roles as it expanded its investments in artificial intelligence. The last round of cuts completes the company’s plan to remove around 30,000 roles, Reuters reported, nearly 10% of its corporate workforce. (Read more)

3. PA Church Battles Township Over Chapel Rights - Million Voices
A battle for religious freedom is unfolding in Collier Township, Pennsylvania, where Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church is standing firm against government overreach. The church, a spiritual home for a community that fled persecution, now faces hostility in the very nation that promises liberty. This is a critical moment for all believers, as the outcome of this case will send a powerful message about the right to worship freely in America.
Holy Trinity sought to build a chapel on its 41-acre property, a place for prayer, worship, and community service. However, Collier Township officials have blocked their plans, imposing crippling restrictions and denying necessary permits. This blatant discrimination has forced the church to seek justice in federal court, represented by First Liberty Institute, Troutman Pepper Locke, and the Independence Law Center.
The church’s vision was to construct a chapel with facilities for prayer and worship, continuing a faith tradition that has sustained its people for generations. Instead of receiving fair treatment, they were met with hostility. The township imposed unreasonable and unlawful conditions that strike at the heart of the church’s religious practices. (Read more)

4. Trump’s Bold Moves at Davos: Greenland, Europe, and Ukraine - Million Voices
The 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos has once again become the center of global attention as President Donald Trump takes the stage. His return to the Swiss Alps has been marked by bold declarations that have shaken the international community. Leaders and citizens alike are watching closely as the American president outlines a vision that challenges established norms.
This year’s forum is a battleground for sovereignty and national security. President Trump has wasted no time in making his stance clear on critical issues facing the West. From the icy strategic importance of Greenland to the war-torn plains of Ukraine, the stakes have never been higher.
In a special address that reverberated through the conference halls, President Trump delivered a stark message to European allies. He criticized the continent’s current trajectory, stating plainly that Europe is “not recognizable” due to its policy choices. His words served as a wake-up call regarding the dangers of unchecked migration and excessive government spending. (Read more)

5. Anti-Trump 'No Kings' protest organizers target Minneapolis-St Paul for next flagship demonstration - Fox News
A group that organized two nationwide "No Kings" protests last year is planning its next large-scale national demonstration on March 28, with a particular focus on Minnesota, which has emerged as ground zero for anti-immigration enforcement demonstrations over the last few months.
The anti-Trump protest is being organized by Indivisible, a liberal grassroots group, that said demonstrations are expected across the country that day. The group said the upcoming event — referred to as "No Kings 3" — will include coordinated protests nationwide, with a flagship march planned in the Twin Cities.
"We expect this to be the largest protest in American history," Ezra Levin, co-executive director of the nonprofit Indivisible, told The Associated Press ahead of Wednesday’s announcement. He predicted that as many as 9 million people could turn out. (Read more)

Lord God, we know that these protests are not grassroots, but highly funded and organized by big organizations, causing chaos and confusion. So right now in the name of Jesus, we break off the funding for this protest, we break divisiveness and chaos, that it will not affect our country in a negative way. We break all attacks to cause violence and we declare our country will walk in love and mercy in Jesus name amen.

Stupidocrisy: Dismissing the Arctic Circle Significance
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, January 28, 2026
Greenland sits at the crossroads of Arctic security. Its location controls access between North America, Europe, and the polar routes now opening as ice recedes. Missile defense radar at Thule, undersea cables, satellite tracking, early-warning systems, and airspace control all run through Greenland. When President Trump publicly raised US interest in Greenland, he echoed longstanding Pentagon logic: geography still matters. Hypersonic missiles do not respect oceans, and the Arctic is no longer a frozen moat. Russia and China understand this. They are investing accordingly. Greenland is not about real estate or symbolism. It is about detection time, deterrence depth, and protecting the North Atlantic spine of the Free World.
The media response was predictable. Late-night jokes, headlines dripping with sarcasm, and Democratic leadership treating the idea as proof of unserious governance. Few bothered to address the substance. Ridicule replaced analysis. Mockery substituted for briefing papers. The same voices that speak fluently about “threats to democracy” suddenly dismissed Arctic defense as cartoonish. That disconnect is the point. National security decisions do not age well when filtered through social media snark. Greenland was framed as a punchline rather than a platform, and the public was encouraged to laugh instead of learn. When serious security architecture is reduced to memes, it leaves blind spots exactly where adversaries prefer them. Read More

Senate Democrats Pushing Bureaucratic Amnesty into DHS Funding Bill
|
|
|
|
Senate Democrats are using the uproar over the Antifa-style resistance in Minneapolis to push a bureaucratic amnesty into the pending legislation that funds the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Multiple GOP Senators are walking in lockstep with Democrats by urging President Donald Trump to deport only violent migrants. The “criminal migrant” plan would allow business donors to sideline millions of Americans while hiring millions of non-violent, low-wage, illegal-migrant workers.
Politico reported that Democrats will refuse to fund the agency’s annual bill unless the GOP agrees to cripple ICE enforcement with a series of bureaucratic curbs on deportations:
Those include requiring judicial [judge-signed] warrants for immigration arrests, overruling a recently disclosed ICE memo asserting they are not required. Other potential Democratic amendments would mandate federal agents identify themselves, require DHS to cooperate with state and local investigations and limit the “mission creep of federal agencies.”
The White House is officially opposed to the Democrats’ plan, which hinges on first breaking the DHS spending bill out of a package of six agency funding bills. The Democratic demands are putting Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala) on the spot, because she chairs the appropriations committee that writes the funding bill for DHS.
Trump has adopted an ambivalent stance on the “criminal migrant” issue. For example, he reassures swing voters by saying he is targeting “criminal migrants” while also quietly implementing his popular 2024 mandate to deport illegal migrants who have not been convicted of a crime. Father God, we thank You that we have a man in the Oval Office who is a "law and order" president, and who will not yield to the strongarm tactics of the Democrats in the Senate who will stop at nothing to get their way. WE GATHER TOGETHER
1 We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known;
the wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His name, He forgets not His own.
2 Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine;
so from the beginning the fight we were winning:
the Lord was at our side- the glory be Thine!
3 We all do extol Thee, Thou leader triumphant,
and pray that Thou still our defender wilt be.
Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!

Judge Delays Virginia Democrats’ Gerrymandering to After Midterm Election
|
|
|
|
A judge issued an order blocking Virginia Democrats’ efforts to have the state’s U.S. congressional lines redrawn, until after the midterm elections, according to several reports.
In his order, Judge Jack Hurley Jr., who serves on the Tazewell County Circuit Court, argued that Democrats in the state “did not follow the right procedure to approve the proposed constitutional amendment that would allow for the last-minute redraw of the state’s lines,” according to Politico.
Hurley also claimed that “using the still-open session was not allowed because early voting” had already started, according to the outlet:
Democrats in the Legislature first passed a measure to take up redistricting in October of last year, utilizing a special session left open by then-Gov. Glenn Youngkin. Lawmakers took up the issue again in January, finalizing the plan to put the issue before the voters ahead of the midterms.
But Hurley said using the still-open special session was not allowed because early voting in last year’s elections had already begun, and state law requires the Legislature to pass proposed constitutional amendments both before and after an election. Hurley also ruled that the proposed constitutional amendment was not properly noticed in state courts.
“There is no rational conclusion except that the ELECTION began on the first day of voting (September 19, 2025) and ended on November 4, 2025,” Hurley wrote in his order, the Hill reported. “Therefore, the Court FINDS that following the October 31, 2025 vote and passage of [the redistricting amendment] HAS NOT BEEN an ensuing general election of the House of Delegates.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

Lord God, we thank You for the wisdom demonstrated by Judge Jack Hurley Jr.,, indicating that that timing of this proposal does not align with the voters' laws now in place in Virginia. We thank You that, when the time comes for the
midterms in November, the congressional map of the State of Virginia will hold.
"Do you see a man who excels in his work?
He will stand before kings;
He will not stand before unknown men."
(Proverbs 22:29)

The billion-dollar shipwreck at the center of an international legal war: It’s 'the greatest sunken treasure in the history of humanity'
|

More than a decade after it was found, a centuries-old Spanish treasure ship worth billions remains nearly untouched on the seafloor while Spain, Colombia, Indigenous groups, and American booty hunters wage a bitter international legal war.
On Thanksgiving Day of 2015, Roger Dooley, a maritime archaeologist from Miami, saw something he’d been searching for for decades.
Looking at the computer screen in his waterfront apartment in Cartagena, Colombia, his hands trembled. He was reviewing footage from a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution underwater robot that had spent seventeen hours scanning the Caribbean seabed.
Clicking through grainy sonar images, Dooley and his colleague saw a sword hilt sticking out of the sand, and three bronze cannons lay in a bed of seashells — each bearing a small dolphin-shaped marking, a telltale signature that identified the wreck beyond doubt.
“I’m still thinking I’m dreaming,” Dooley said.
They’d found the San José, a Spanish galleon that had vanished in 1708 carrying gold, silver and emeralds plundered from Indigenous peoples across the Americas — a cargo estimated to now be worth $5 billion or more.
“[It’s] the greatest sunken treasure in the history of humanity,” Julian Sancton, author of a fascinating new account of the discovery, “Neptune’s Fortune: The Billion-Dollar Shipwreck and the Ghosts of the Spanish Empire,” told The Post in an exclusive interview. “It has to contend with such famous gilded troves as Tutankhamen’s tomb.” (New York Post)

He leads me beside the still waters.

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
