Top New Year's resolutions:
Americans want more family time, prayer in 2026
As Americans look ahead to 2026, “spending more time with family” and “praying more” are among the top 10 most common New Year’s resolutions.

YouGov released a survey asking Americans about their views on 2025 as it comes to a close and their New Year’s resolutions for 2026. It found that a majority of Americans (51%) did not intend to make New Year’s resolutions for 2026, while 31% sought to set goals for the new year.

While the most common New Year’s resolution for Americans was exercising more (25%), two resolutions related to spending more time with family and focusing on faith rounded out the top 10 most common New Year’s resolutions. Fifteen percent of Americans said “spending more time with family” was one of their New Year’s resolutions, while the same percentage of U.S. adults said that “praying more” was among their top aspirations for 2026. Father God, we are grateful for the news that Americans look forward to 2026, revealing a heartfelt desire to make family and prayer priority. We ask that You would bless citizens seeking You in prayer and pray they would each experience undeniable encounters with Jesus. Set our nation's priorities into perfect realignment in the Ways of the Lord, and spread a thirst for Your Holy Word. We give You wide-access into every area of our own lives and also invite You into every governmental place within our nation; Bless those, desiring to lead by honoring Christ in every decision, in places of high-authority. Strengthen the Body to stand boldly and courageously as we call for appropriate accountability and a return to holy righteousness within the United States of America! We pray this, in the Powerful and Mighty Name of Yeshua- Amen and Amen.

Trump confirms US strike in Venezuela, says President Nicolás Maduro has been 'captured'
The U.S. military carried out a "large-scale strike" in Venezuela early Saturday morning and took Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife into custody, President Donald Trump confirmed.
The president wrote on Truth Social that the operation was successful and Maduro and his wife were "captured and flown out of the country." Trump said the operation was conducted with U.S. law enforcement and added that a news conference will take place at Mar-a-Lago at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
At least seven explosions could be heard in Venezuela’s capital city of Caracas early Saturday morning, according to The Associated Press, and low-flying aircraft were seen flying over Caracas at about 2 a.m. local time.
The helicopters seen flying over Caracas were part of the U.S. Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, known as the "Night Stalkers."
The Venezuelan government said in a statement that "the civilian and military localities of the city of Caracas, capital of the Republic, and the states of Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira" were impacted by the attack. (Fox News) Read more here.

Lord God of Justice, we thank You for a President that has the strength to remove a person who had been indicted in 2020 with a warrant issued in New York. We pray for the people of Venezuela, that a transition to a better leadership will be smooth and full of justice.

We thank You, too, that in taking down Maduro, our President has destroyed the home of the terrorist group, the Tren De Aragua. Lord God, this network has perpetrated countless acts of violence over the years upon American citizens, so the time for justice has now come. Praise God, Lord, that we have a president who is not afraid to be our President, in Your name, amen and amen!

“May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!” (Psalm 29:11)

Trump vows US will 'run' Venezuela until 'safe' transition of power
President Donald Trump said the United States is "going to run the country" in Venezuela until what he described as a safe, proper and judicious transition can take place.
Trump framed the role as temporary but necessary, saying the U.S. does not want to allow "somebody else get in" before conditions are stable. He said the goal is peace, liberty and justice for Venezuelans, including those who have fled to the United States and hope to return home.
"We’re going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition," Trump said.
He also warned the U.S. is prepared to escalate further if needed, saying, "We are ready to stage a second and much larger attack," and that American forces remain in position. "We’re there now, and we’re going to stay until such time as the proper transition can take place," Trump
Trump spoke during a news conference Saturday hours after U.S. special forces bombed Caracas and captured dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, taking them to New York to face drug trafficking charges. (Fox News) Read more here.
Lord, we pray that You will make sure the President has Your truth as the guardrails for this action. Let this situation benefit the citizens of Venezuela. Let them not fall back into the clutches of bad people who do not have their interests at heart. Grant the US wisdom to accomplish only good things.

Venezuelans worldwide celebrate as exiles react to Maduro’s capture
Joyful crowds gathered in Miami, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Madrid after Maduro capture

Venezuelans across the globe took to the streets after the capture of Nicolás Maduro, whose rule was marked by economic collapse and mass migration out of the oil-rich nation.

Venezuelans in Miami, Fla., Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Madrid, Spain, donned Venezuela’s national colors and waved flags hours after President Donald Trump announced that Maduro and his wife had been flown out of the country following an overnight U.S. military operation.

In Miami, Venezuelans danced and cheered, with celebrations also taking place outside Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Fla. In Doral, Fla., revelers chanted "Liberty!" and draped Venezuelan flags over their shoulders.

Outside the El Arepazo restaurant, a hub of the Venezuelan culture of Doral, one man held a piece of cardboard with "Libertad" scrawled with a black marker. It was a sentiment expressed by other native Venezuelans hoping for a new beginning for their home country as they chanted, "Liberty! Liberty! Liberty!"

"We’re like everybody — it’s a combination of feelings, of course," Alejandra Arrieta, who came to the U.S. in 1997, told The Associated Press.

"There’s fears. There’s excitement," he said. "There’s so many years that we’ve been waiting for this. Something had to happen in Venezuela. We all need the freedom."

The demonstrations reflected the scale of Venezuela’s diaspora, which has grown dramatically during Maduro’s years in power, as millions fled what critics describe as a period of economic collapse marked by hyperinflation and widespread food shortages.

Since 2017, roughly 8 million people have fled Venezuela, making it one of the world’s largest displacement crises, according to the U.N. Refugee Agency. (Fox News) Read more here.

Lord God, we join the Venezuelans who now live around the world in celebrating the ousting of this brutal dictator, Nicolas Maduro. Praise God for their new-found freedom, Lord, and thank You again for the bold action that has been taken by our own President, Donald John Trump.

"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)

Mamdani axes all Adams executive orders in past 15 months, including those defending Jews
On his first day in office, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani revoked all of the executive orders that his predecessor, Eric Adams, has issued since Sept. 26, 2024, including several designed to protect Jews, in order, he said, to have a “fresh start for the incoming administration.”
The mayor, who has said he would have the Israeli prime minister arrested in New York City and who has many Jews in the city worried for their safety, didn’t say why he chose that date. But Sept. 26, 2024, was the day that Adams was indicted on federal bribery and campaign finance offense charges.
Mamdani stated at first in a release that he was revoking all order prior to Sept. 26, 2024, although the text of the order stated that it was discontinuing all of the orders post-Sept. 26, 2024. The mayor’s office sent out a second press release specifying that it was orders after that date.
In the waning hours of his mayorship, Adams and the Mayor’s Office to Combat Antisemitism released an annual report on combating Jew-hatred. Adams created that office on Jew-hatred on May 13 via executive order No. 51. Moshe Davis, its executive director, still had his title listed on LinkedIn and on X as of press time, and Mamdani told a reporter that he intended to keep the office. (Epoch Times) Read more here.
See also: Bishop Robert Barron slams Zohran Mamdani's 'warmth of collectivism' line: ‘For God’s sake’ - New York Post

Bishop Robert Barron, a prominent Catholic leader, slammed socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s inauguration line promoting the “warmth of collectivism,” saying, “God’s sake, spare me.”

During his inaugural address, the newly minted socialist mayor and New York’s first Muslim mayor, declared, “We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.” The line prompted immediate backlash from many conservatives who expressed alarm at such a phrase being used by the leader of America’s biggest city.

Barron, a popular podcaster and founder of “Word on Fire,” took to X to say Mamdani’s declaration “took my breath away.”
“He said he intended to replace ‘the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.’ Collectivism in its various forms is responsible for the deaths of at least 100 million people in the last century,” Barron wrote.“For God’s sake, spare me the ‘warmth of collectivism.’ “Socialist and communist forms of government around the world today — Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, etc. — are disastrous,” explained Barron.

Barron was not the only critic who voiced alarm about Mamdani’s declaration.

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis wrote on X that the “warmth” of collectivism “always requires coercion and force.” “How many dead over the past 100 years due to collectivist ideologies?” DeSantis added.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, chimed in, “When communists rule, individual rights — invariably — are taken away.” (Read more here)
Holy Lord, we pray that You will deal with this Mayor who obviously refuses to acknowledge Your Word regarding the Jewish people. We ask that You visit Mamdani in the night seasons to change his heart. We pray that all socialist/communist actions will fail, and that the people of New York will come to repentance in a move of Your Holy Spirit.

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Netanyahu on Iran protests: 'This may be the moment' - Israel National News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened the cabinet meeting today (Sunday) with a statement about the State of Israel's support for the Iranian people's struggle against the ayatollahs' rule, noting that the current moment may be "the moment when the Iranian people are taking their fate into their own hands."

Netanyahu spoke about his historic visit with President Trump, which took place on New Year's Eve, during which they discussed developments in the region, including the situation in Gaza and Iran. During the meeting with Trump, the two discussed the issue of dealing with Hamas, and the American president reiterated his position that "the essential condition is that Hamas disarms."

"We discussed all of the developments in the region," Netanyahu began. "I will focus my remarks first on Gaza. He was unequivocal. He repeated this both in our private conversations and to public opinion at the press conference there. He said it: 'The essential condition is that Hamas disarms.' There is no other option. This is an essential and fundamental condition for the implementation of his 20-point plan. He made no concessions and showed no flexibility on this issue." (Read more)

3. Israel strikes loaded rocket launcher in Gaza aimed at Sderot - JNS

The Israel Defense Forces on Saturday carried out a precise strike on a Hamas tunnel shaft in the northern Gaza Strip containing a rocket launcher “loaded and ready to be launched toward the city of Sderot,” the military said.

“The shaft was used by Hamas to conceal a rocket launcher that was ready to fire toward southern Israel and posed an immediate threat to Israeli civilians,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.

The army added that the terrorist group’s action was a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire.

The IDF noted that steps were taken before the strike to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence information. (Read more)

4. Ultra-Orthodox protests erupt across Israel on haredi IDF enlistment day
- Jerusalem Post

Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) protesters took to the streets on Sunday, demonstrating against the IDF enlistment day, recruiting haredi conscripts into combat units in Israel’s military.

Clashes broke out between police officers and haredi protesters outside the Jerusalem recruitment office, while an illegal demonstration also took place near the IDF recruitment office in Kiryat Ono, blocking the entrance to the Tel Hashomer military base.

Disturbances occurred when protesters attempted to block vehicles by lying on the roadway in Kiryat Ono, Israel Police said. (Read more)

5. Israeli security forces launch manhunt after ramming attack of 13-year-old near Ateret - World Israel News

Israeli forces launched a manhunt north of Jerusalem on Saturday evening after a suspected car-ramming near the Ateret settlement left a 13-year-old Israeli lightly wounded, according to the military and emergency services.

The incident occurred near Maayan Ateret, in the central Benjamin region of Judea and Samaria, where a vehicle struck a pedestrian and then fled the area.

The Israel Defense Forces said troops were dispatched to the scene shortly after the report was received and began an immediate search for the driver.

As part of the response, the IDF established roadblocks and initiated closures along key routes while encircling the Ramallah area and nearby Bir Zeit. Additional forces were deployed to scan surrounding areas as the search expanded through the evening.

1. Supreme Court May Get Case Freeing Churches in Politics in 2026 Suit to Watch – The Washington Stand

Supreme Court justices may have an opportunity in 2026 to affirm the First Amendment rights of churches to advise congregants of the biblical perspective on major public policy issues in political campaigns and to provide information on the stands taken on those issues by candidates for elective office at all levels of government.
The case is National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), et. al. v IRS Commissioner Billy Long/Bessent, and it involves a serious challenge to the constitutionality of the federal tax agency’s administration of a controversial 1954 regulation that bars nonprofit organizations, including religious assemblies, from participating in partisan political campaigns.
Known as the “Johnson Amendment” after its main sponsor, then-Senate Majority Leader Lyndon B. Johnson, the measure represented the powerful Lone Star State senator’s retaliation against Southern Baptist Pastor J. Frank Norris of Fort Worth, who had endorsed and campaigned for a conservative challenger in the Democratic senatorial primary. Johnson won the primary and a second term in the Senate, but he nevertheless moved swiftly with his reprisal.
For years thereafter, the threat of losing federal tax exemption prompted conservative evangelical churches and leaders to say nothing about political issues, even as some liberal and progressive Protestant and Catholic assemblies across the nation were seen acting in ways that critics suggested may violate the Johnson Amendment, such as allowing candidates to speak on their own behalf in church facilities.
“As someone who has led and urged churches to participate actively in moral and ethical issues that have been part and parcel of American elective politics over the last half-century, I can bear witness that the Johnson Amendment has been used by many Christians as an excuse for not taking a stand on controversial issues like abortion. When people want their pastors and church leaders to speak up on these issues, too often the reply has been, ‘We could lose our tax exemption,’” Dr. Richard Land, former president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (1988-2013), wrote in a recent op-ed for The Christian Post(Read more)

Thank You, Lord, for the possibility of relief from the Supreme Court for the 1st Amendment rights of Your churches.  We ask for a righteous ruling that frees Your people to speak their minds regarding the political scene without government interference.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

2. Harmeet Dhillon Drops the Hammer on That 'Vouching' for Voters Question in Minnesota- Red State

A lot of attention is being paid to the massive fraud scandal in Minnesota affecting the state's social services.
But a report from the founder of Early Vote Action, Scott Presler, sparked more focus on another area: possible voter fraud.
As we reported, Presler raised the question about the process in Minnesota that allows a registered voter to vouch for the residency of up to eight other people seeking same-day voter registration, if they are in the same voting precinct. The person vouched for cannot vouch for anyone else.
On top of that, an employee of a residential facility can vouch for an unlimited number of residents of the facility. The voter or employee doing the vouching has to swear under oath that the person they're vouching for is a resident of the precinct.
The process raises questions about the number of people being vouched for, especially with same-day registration.
Now, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon is demanding answers and records in a letter to the Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon. She said, "This system seems facially inconsistent with the Help America Vote Act of 2002. We’ll see!" (Read more)

Father, this Minnesota law easily leads to fraud in elections. We ask that the DOJ be able to stop it in its tracks and bring about a repentant heart in the leadership of the state.

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”          (Ezekiel 36:26)

3. Trump Admin Uncovers Another $400 Million In Suspected Minnesota Fraud – Daily Wire

Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler said Thursday that nearly 7,000 people in Minnesota could face prosecution over potentially fraudulent federal loans taken during the COVID pandemic.
Loeffler said her team had identified around $400 million in loans that may have been fraudulently obtained through the Paycheck Protection Program and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. As a result, 6,900 borrowers in Minnesota were suspended from participating in SBA loan programs and could face further punishment.
“Over the last week, SBA has reviewed thousands of potentially fraudulent pandemic-era PPP and EIDL loans approved in Minnesota,” Loeffler posted on X. “Today, our agency took action to suspend 6,900 Minnesota borrowers amid suspected fraudulent activity. In total, these borrowers were approved for 7,900 PPP and EIDL loans worth approximately $400M.”
She added that some individuals could be referred for federal prosecution.
“These individuals will be banned from all SBA loan programs, including disaster loans, going forward. We will also refer every case, where appropriate, to federal law enforcement for prosecution and repayment,” she said. “After years, the American people will finally begin to see the criminals who stole from law-abiding taxpayers held accountable — and this is just the first state.” (Read more)

Lord, we ask that the fraud be removed from all taxpayer-funded programs across the nation, not just in Minnesota.

“For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:8)

4. HUD Audit Reveals $5.8 Billion in Potentially Improper Rental Assistance Payments Under Biden – The Epoch Times

There was a “significant misuse” of taxpayer funds under the Biden administration concerning rental assistance, which resulted in potential payment errors of nearly $5.8 billion, the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) said in a statement on Dec. 30.
The findings were made after HUD’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer examined all Project-Based Rental Assistance and Tenant-Based Rental Assistance payments made by the agency in 2024 using advanced data analytics for the first time.
“Through a series of internal management reviews, HUD identified significant potential improper payments, process gaps, and material weaknesses,” the statement said.
The analysis found $5.2 billion in potential payment errors linked to inactive registrations at SAM.gov, the official website used by the federal government to publish and manage contracting opportunities. These are payments allegedly made to entities “not validated to do business with the Federal government.”
A ledger to subledger reconciliation identified $49.9 million worth of payments in the financial system that “do not match the detailed tenant-level records,” it said. (Read more)

Holy Father, the corruption in America is out of control. We pray on our knees for Your great mercy and the gift of repentance across every state, and every government. Bring change and life to our nation.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

5. Activists Linked to George Soros Are Training Jurors So They Can Help 'Marginalized' Defendants – Western Journal

A judicial activist group linked to George Soros’ activist groups is coming under scrutiny for what they call “juror teach-in” sessions to protect “those with marginalized identities.”
Free DC, a Washington-based group which describes itself as a “fiscally sponsored special project” of a progressive nonprofit called Community Change and Community Change Action, will be hosting a Jan. 12 training session which, from its description, sounds suspiciously close to a primer on jury nullification.
The session is being co-hosted with another progressive group, Harriet’s Wildest Dreams.
“We’ll discuss what it really means to serve on a jury and how we can use that role to protect our people especially those with marginalized identities who are disproportionately targeted by the criminal legal system,” the event description reads.
“Jury duty is not just a civic responsibility; it’s a powerful tool for ensuring fairness and justice. As community members, our participation in juries is vital to safeguarding the rights of those who are most vulnerable to systemic biases. (Read more)

Lord, we ask that You put an end to the interference of the Soros groups that constantly insert themselves into our nation’s politics and other actions.  Bring repentance, and if they refuse, let them be brought to nothing.

“The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.” (Proverbs 8:13)
6. Federal Workers Start New Year Off By Suing Trump Over End Of Taxpayer-Funded Sex Changes – Daily Caller

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) filed a class action lawsuit Thursday on behalf of federal workers over the government’s ending of insurance coverage for sex change hormones and procedures.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in August sent a letter to insurance companies notifying them that “chemical and surgical modification of an individual’s sex traits through medical interventions (to include ‘gender transition’ services) will no longer be covered” in 2026 under federal employee health plans, with the exception of counseling services and those who are “mid-treatment.” The federal workers are basing their “discrimination” complaint on the allegation that ending the policy is “denial of care” that’s “discriminatory on the basis of sex.”
“Starting today, untold numbers of federal employees and their families will be left out to dry at the hands of a shameless administration hell-bent on targeting the transgender community,” HRC Foundation President Kelley Robinson insisted. “This policy is not about cost or care – it is about driving transgender people and people with transgender spouses, children, and dependents out of the federal workforce.”
“That is discrimination, plain and simple, and the HRC Foundation refuses to let it stand without a fight,” Robinson wrote. (Read more)

Dear Jesus, the constant desire to seek sin and stand with it is a stain on our nation. We ask for a move of Your Holy Spirit to permeate these strongholds of evil, changing hearts and bringing new horizons for all who have been trapped in the lies of the enemy.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;” (Isaiah 61:1)

7. Hochul orders NY landmarks, including One World Trade Center, lit green for Muslim American Heritage Month - Fox News

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday issued a proclamation declaring January Muslim American Heritage Month across the state and directed 16 state landmarks, including NYC's One World Trade Center, to be illuminated green Friday night in "celebration of the heritage and culture of Muslim Americans."
"Home to the largest Muslim American population in the nation, New York is proud to join in this month-long celebration, recognizing the values, faith and traditions of our Muslim American communities," Hochul said in a statement
"New York remains committed to being a beacon of hope, tolerance, and inclusivity that celebrates the diversity of its Muslim American population and protects them from Islamophobia, hate, bias, and harm."
One World Trade Center stands on the site of 6 World Trade Center, which was heavily damaged by debris during the collapse of the North Tower in the 9/11 attacks.
The terrorists who carried out the 9/11 attacks were Muslim and members of al Qaeda, a violent militant group. (Read more)

Lord, we pray that this travesty be shown for what it is: a lie. Please dissipate these lies and remind all that the founding of the United States was based on You, the One True Living God, and not on a false religion.

Trump Threatens Attack on Iran: U.S. ‘Locked and Loaded’ to Defend Protesters

President Donald Trump announced in a message on his website, Truth Social, on Friday that the United States is ready to intervene to “rescue” anti-regime protesters in Iran should the government attempt to brutalize them.
The president was responding to the eruption of nationwide protests against the terrorist regime in that country that began last week, a response to the collapse in the value of the rial, the national currency, in addition to various national crises that include a months-long struggle to maintain the water supply. Reports on Wednesday and Thursday indicated that Iran’s repressive apparatus killed at least seven people on Thursday, but the protesters have continued attacking regime institutions, including attempting to burn down police and security force offices in multiple cities. Chants of “death to the dictator” and “death to Khamenei” have spread.
“If Iran shots [sic] and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue,” President Trump wrote. “We are locked and loaded and ready to go. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” (Breitbart) Read more here.

Lord, we pray for the protesters in Iran, that You would keep them safe. We ask that You grant them freedom from the oppression of the Mullahs and Islam. May You restore the years that have been stolen and give them a move of Your Holy Spirit to bring repentance and hope.

“Redeem me from man's oppression, that I may keep your precepts.” (Psalm 119:134)

Supreme Court tariffs case, Fed chair pick loom as twin tests for Trump’s economic agenda in 2026
Both decisions are expected in the first few weeks of the new year
Two key economic policy decisions are on the horizon in Washington: a Supreme Court ruling on tariffs and the White House’s expected announcement of the next Federal Reserve chair. Both developments carry significant implications for trade, markets and the future of U.S. monetary policy.

At the Supreme Court, two cases, which President Donald Trump has called "life or death" for the U.S., have forced the nation's highest court to confront how far a president can go in redirecting U.S. trade policy.

The suits — Learning Resources Inc. v. Trump and Trump v. V.O.S. Selections Inc. — were brought by an educational-toy manufacturer and a family-owned wine and spirits importer challenging Trump’s tariffs.

Both cases turn on a central question: whether the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) gave the president authority to impose the tariffs, or whether that move crossed constitutional lines. (Fox News) Read more here.
Lord, we ask that You move Your people to pray for the Supreme Court’s ruling. We ask that they rule in favor of the United States economy rather than harming it.

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!” (Psalm 90:17)
How the US Operation to Capture Maduro Unfolded

Late in the evening on Jan. 2, President Donald Trump ordered U.S. special operations forces to launch a helicopter-borne raid on the Venezuelan capital city of Caracas to capture the wanted Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. The operation that followed was the culmination of months of preparation and weeks of waiting for the perfect window of opportunity.

It was a complex mission with a lot that could have gone wrong, officials said.

“We could’ve lost a lot of people last night. We could’ve lost a lot of dignity. We could’ve lost a lot of equipment. The equipment is less important, but we could’ve lost a lot,” Trump said at a press conference from the president’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, on Jan. 3

In the early morning hours on Jan. 3, dozens of manned and unmanned U.S. military aircraft began targeting Venezuela’s air defense arrays, paving the way for the helicopter-borne assault team to land at a fortified compound where Maduro and his wife were staying. Within minutes of landing, those special operations troops had managed to rush through the complex and catch the Venezuelan leader and his wife, Cilia Adela Flores de Maduro, before they could barricade themselves in a safe room and potentially wait for the Venezuelan military to come to their rescue.

Less than five hours had elapsed from the time Trump gave the order to launch the mission to when the assault force had safely exited Venezuelan airspace with Maduro and his wife in custody. The mission played out without a single loss of American life. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Father God, we praise You for the way this mission was accomplished this weekend. We thank You, too, for hearing the prayers of those who were praying for this operation to succeed. We continue to be humbled as we see Your mighty hand protecting this nation. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.

Democrats Erupt Over Trump's Venezuela Strike, Say Marco Rubio 'Blatantly Lied to Congress'

Democratic lawmakers railed against President Donald Trump’s overnight military operation in Venezuela on Saturday that resulted in the successful capture of socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

Congressional Democrats argued Trump lacked legal authority and that it was counter to American interests to use military force against Maduro’s regime.

Republican lawmakers largely praised Trump’s military operation, with those representing South Florida’s large Venezuelan community describing it as an “historic day” for the Venezuelan people and Latin America.

“Second unjustified war in my life time,” Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego, a Democrat with reported presidential ambitions and a penchant for publicity, wrote on X shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.

“This war is illegal, it’s embarrassing that we went from the world cop to the world bully in less than one year. There is no reason for us to be at war with Venezuela.” (The Western Journal) Read more here.

Lord God, in this nation where we work with a two-party system, it does not surprise us to see the Democrats in the House and in the Senate voice strong opposition to Trump's action this weekend in Venezuela. We ask, Holy One, that You come down from heaven and visit these members in their beds, causing each one to come to their senses to understand the truth of this situation. The regime of Nicolas Maduro, a narco-terrorist, brought real danger to our citizens over many, many years. We pray that the eyes of the Democrats be opened by Your mighty hand to grasp the facts in this matter, and to turn around and support our President as he has taken this dramatic action to arrest Manduro and to dismantle his evil government. We pray in Your name, Holy One, amen and amen.

"In a dream, in a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction.
In order to turn man from his deed,
And conceal pride from man,"
(Job 33:15-17)
And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!
"The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

(Isaiah 42:13)

'Unexpected' Roman-era discoveries unearthed in biblical city mentioned in Book of Revelation

Extraordinary ancient finds were recently unearthed in Ephesus, the Turkish city where Paul the Apostle once preached.

The discovery was announced by Anadolu Agency (AA), a state-run outlet in Ankara, on Dec. 12. Ephesus is also known as being one of the seven churches of Asia mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

The star of the excavation was a Roman-era marble bathtub, along with a fragment of a male statue's torso that was later reused as a paving stone.

Archaeologist Serdar Aybek, speaking to AA, said the bathtub dates back to the first century A.D. Unlike Ephesus's large, public bath complexes, the one that was recently uncovered was likely "intended for domestic use."

"It is an unusual discovery because it is not something we encounter frequently," Aybek said.

"We believe it belonged to the Terrace Houses and was used in the first century A.D.," he added. "We found it during work at the theater, and its size shows it was used in a house."

The bathtub was carved with Greco Scritto marble — a regional variety with distinct black veins — and measured almost 5 feet long, 2.5 feet wide and 2 feet high, authorities said.

After being used by a high-income household, the bath was later repurposed as a fountain trough.

Aybek also described the discovery of the statue fragment, which dated between the first century B.C. and the first century A.D., as "completely unexpected."

The statue of the unidentified man was carved into multiple parts and attached together before it was later dismantled. (Fox News) Read More

The Sinner's Prayer
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
