In Memoriam: Congressman Doug LaMalfa
Doug LaMalfa, a Republican Congressman from California, has died unexpectedly at age 65, colleagues announced on Tuesday.
President Donald Trump offered a tribute to LaMalfa, saying he wanted "to express our tremendous sorrow at the loss of a great member - a great, great, great member".
LaMalfa was a former rice farmer elected to congress in 2013. He focused on water and agriculture issues during his tenure.
His death shaves an already-thin Republican majority in the US House of Representatives to just a few seats, following the resignation on Monday of former Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene. (Source: MSN.com) Read more here,

Hershey Bears’ 2026 Teddy Bear Toss:
Watch thousands of stuffed animals rain down on the ice!

The Hershey Bears held the annual Giant Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday as the Rockford IceHogs, from Rockford, Illinois, came to town. A Bears fixture since 2001, the toss of teddy bears and other stuffed animals takes place after the Bears score their first goal. Player Louie Belpedio scored the goal 2:55 into the first period that prompted fans to toss stuffed animals onto the ice.
The Bears collected 81,796 teddy bears and stuffed animals during Sunday’s Giant Teddy Bear Toss, increasing the total number of teddy bears and stuffed animals collected to 648,246 since Hershey hosted its first Teddy Bear Toss event in 2001. Hershey’s 102,343 teddy bears collected in 2025 remains a world hockey Teddy Bear Toss record.
As part of the club’s “Hershey Bears Cares” initiative, which showcases the philanthropic activities and volunteer efforts of Bears players and staff members throughout the community, teddy bears and stuffed animals are collected and donated to more than 60 local and regional organizations, according to the team website. House Speaker defends Trump administration's operation in Venezuela as lawmakers question next steps
|
|
A select group of lawmakers received their first closed-door briefing on Capitol Hill on Monday following the Trump administration’s weekend military strikes in Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro — a meeting that quickly divided along political lines.
The roughly two-hour meeting deep in the bowels of Congress featured top administration officials providing a classified briefing to congressional leaders and the chairs and ranking members of the armed services, intelligence and foreign relations committees.
None of the Trump officials, who included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Attorney General Pam Bondi, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Dan "Raizin" Caine and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, spoke after the meeting.
But a handful of lawmakers did, and questions still lingered about what exactly would come next for U.S. involvement in the country, if other similar operations would be carried out across the globe, and who exactly was running Venezuela.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said that there was no expectation that the U.S. would be on the ground, nor would there be any "direct involvement in any other way beyond just coercing the interim government to to get that going."
"We are not at war," Johnson said. "We do not have U.S. armed forces in Venezuela, and we are not occupying that country."
"This is not a regime change," he continued. "This is a demand for change of behavior by a regime. The interim government is stood up now, and we are hopeful that they will be able to correct their action." (Fox News) Read more here.

to remove Nicolas Maduro from power, and freeing the nation of Venezuela to live in comfort again. We thank You that President Trump took action in agreement with the
advise, also, of our top military leaders.
We ask that, now that Congress has been advised of the details of this mission, they would, indeed, get behind President Trump as he moves forward to restore order in Venezuela. We call forth unity in our government, and that the naysayers would be silenced, in Your Name, Abba,

A Florida Republican is arguing that Democrats’ largely negative response to the U.S. government’s operation in Venezuela is the "definition of Trump Derangement Syndrome."
Rep. Mike Haridopolos, R-Fla., represents a part of Florida that includes a significant chunk of the state’s central coastline.
"It doesn't take much research to find speech after speech of Democrat House members and Senate members who said that this guy is a bad guy, he should be taken out of power," Haridopolos told Fox News Digital.
"Sometimes in politics, you’ve just got to say to the other side, politically, ‘Hey, we're all Americans. This is in the best interest, clearly, of the United States.’ But they're in a position where they're so afraid of a Democrat primary that they will say anything to avoid having the extreme left attack them."
He pointed out that it was the previous Democratic commander-in-chief, President Joe Biden, who raised the federal government’s bounty for Maduro’s capture to $25 million.
"What did they expect was then going to happen? You think this guy was just going to voluntarily give up? He clearly was not. He was getting into bed with the Cubans, the Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians, even Hezbollah, as I understand. I mean, this guy was trying to create a group of enemies in an oil-rich state at our footstep," Haridopolos said.
He said his district is home to a number of Venezuelan refugees who were elated by President Donald Trump’s decision to strike Caracas and capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
"I have a large population of Venezuelans within my community, and they are absolutely overjoyed," the congressman said. "They were in essence kicked out of their own country or fled through fear … because they lost their ability to make a living, or they were being terrorized by the government because they were anti-Maduro." Lord God, we thank You that Rep. Mike Haridopolos represents a district in South Florida where many Venezuelan refugees now live. He is literally a "voice" for these citizens in Congress. Now that this member of Congress is speaking truth in the halls of the House of Representatives, we ask that the American people would take heed to his words. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Monday condemned what she described as U.S. intervention in Venezuela and rejected the idea of American troops entering Mexico, reaffirming her government’s commitment to national sovereignty.
"We categorically reject intervention in the internal affairs of other countries," Sheinbaum said at a press conference in Mexico City, according to an official transcript of the speech released by her office.
"The history of Latin America is clear and forceful, the intervention has never brought democracy, it has never generated well-being or lasting stability. Only people can build their own future, decide their path, exercise sovereignty over their natural resources and freely define their form of government," she said.
Sheinbaum said that following the capture of Venezuela’s leader and his wife, and amid warnings from President Donald Trump that Mexico must "get their act together," Mexican sovereignty and self-determination remain non-negotiable.
Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he thinks Sheinbaum is a "terrific person," but the cartels are "running Mexico."
"We’re going to have to do something. We’d love Mexico to do it, they’re capable of doing it, but unfortunately the cartels are very strong in Mexico," Trump said.
Sheinbaum said her country is cooperating with the United States to help fight against drug trafficking, organized crime and the flow of fentanyl. (Fox News) Read more here.

We also recognize that she is cooperating with the United States to curb the sale of fentanyl in our country, but we ask that more can be done with this mission. We ask that President Trump will be able to more effectively join forces with President Sheinbaum, so that these cartels can be obliterated, once and for all! Trump vows US action if Iranian regime cracks down on protests
|

Washington “locked and loaded” to intervene if needed, the president warns.

The United States will intervene if Iran violently suppresses anti-government demonstrations, President Donald Trump warned on Friday.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that if “Iran shoots and violently kills peaceful protesters,” Washington will “come to their rescue,” adding that the U.S. is “locked and loaded and ready to go.”
Demonstrations over Iran’s plunging currency and soaring inflation, the largest in three years, have widened nationwide and turned deadly as security forces clash with protesters.
Senior Iranian officials are warning of a fierce response if Washington follows through on Trump’s threat to intervene should Tehran use lethal force against demonstrators.
Ali Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, wrote on X that “every hand of intervention that approaches Iranian security under any pretext will be cut off with a regrettable response before it arrives.”
Another top Khamenei aide, Ali Larijani, said on X that “Trump must realize that U.S. intervention in this internal matter will lead to destabilizing the entire region and destroying American interests,” adding that “the American people must know that Trump is the one who started this adventure, and they should pay attention to the safety of their soldiers.”
In Israel, opposition lawmaker Avigdor Liberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party, signaled support for U.S. action, writing on X that if Washington moves from threats to concrete steps over any killing of peaceful demonstrators in Iran, “Israel would also join the move.”

1. Iran threatens preemptive strike if it detects imminent security threat

Iran’s Defense Council warned on Tuesday that the country may carry out a preemptive strike against its enemies if it detects signs of an imminent threat to its security.
In a statement, the council - established to shape Iran’s defensive strategy following the 12-day war with Israel last June - declared that “Iran’s security, independence and territorial integrity are an uncrossable red line, and any aggression or continuation of hostile behavior will be met with a proportionate, decisive and decisive response."
“The long-standing enemies of this land… are pursuing a targeted approach by repeating and intensifying threatening language and interventionist statements in clear conflict with the accepted principles of international law, which is aimed at dismembering our beloved Iran and harming the country’s identity," the statement concluded.

3. Israel keeps Rafah Crossing closed until Hamas returns remains of final Israeli held in Gaza - World Israel News
Israel is keeping the Rafah Border Crossing shut until Hamas and its Iran-backed allies return the remains of Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, the final Israeli hostage still held in Gaza, according to Israeli media reports.
The decision turns Rafah into more than a border gate. It becomes leverage, a signal that Israel won’t normalize postwar arrangements while Hamas still holds an Israeli hero as a bargaining chip.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has publicly backed the stance, arguing the crossing should not open until Gvili is brought home for burial.
The issue is also tied to broader understandings being discussed with Washington.

In one of his autopen's last acts before Joe Biden left office was to pardon Capt. Mike Byrd, the DC officer who shot and killed January 6 protester Ashli Babbitt in cold blood during the protests on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021.

3. Corrupt Amy Klobuchar Mulls Campaign to Replace Walz as Governor of Minnesota - Breitbart
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is reportedly considering a run for Minnesota governor after Gov. Tim Walz (D) announced the end of his reelection campaign, but her track record is a mess of political scandals.
Walz, who was the Democrat party’s vice-presidential candidate just over a year ago, dropped out of the race in shame with a Monday morning statement whining over the growing Somali fraud scandal, Breitbart News’s John Nolte detailed.

5. Nolte: MN Hilton Franchise Hampton Inn Still Denying DHS Agents After Apology — Parent Company Cuts Ties - Breitbart
Hilton Hotels announced early Tuesday that it will “remove” a Minnesota “franchise hotel from our system” after it was again caught denying rooms to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents investigating local fraud.
This is the result of an undercover video from citizen journalist Nick Sorter.
On Monday, DHS released a copy of an email from a Minneapolis Hampton Inn denying agents accommodations. “We have noticed an influx of GOV reservations,” the email said, “and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay on our property.”
After the story went viral, the Hilton Mothership released a statement stating that the Minneapolis Hampton Inn is “independently owned.” (Read more)

When Prophetic Defense Lines Begin to Form

The headlines out of the eastern Mediterranean read like routine geopolitics, but to students of Scripture, they feel familiar. Israel, Greece, and Cyprus are reportedly planning a joint rapid-response military force to protect critical infrastructure and counter rising regional threats, particularly from Turkey. On the surface, this is strategic prudence. Pipelines, undersea cables, shipping lanes, and energy platforms are exposed in an increasingly volatile neighborhood. But history teaches that nations rarely prepare for threats they believe are imaginary. Israel is responding to something real, sensed more than stated. Leaders see shifting alliances, tightening pressure, and an uncertain north. They act for reasons they understand.
Scripture reminds us that God often advances His purposes through preparations nations believe are purely defensive.
The Bible has long pointed to trouble coming from Israel’s northern regions. Ezekiel records, “Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal,” leading a coalition that includes Persia, Cush, and Put (Ezekiel 38:2,5, NKJV). Most scholars associate Meshech and Tubal with areas in modern Turkey, Persia with Iran, and Cush and Put with regions of Sudan and Libya. Ezekiel does not linger on theology. He lists geography. Today, Turkey and Iran are drawing closer politically and militarily. Iranian influence runs through Syria and Iraq. Ankara is increasingly assertive in the eastern Mediterranean. The map Ezekiel described centuries ago is no longer abstract. It is recognizable, even to secular analysts. Read More

Israel's prime minister and foreign minister issued high praise to U.S. President Donald Trump following the successful operation on Saturday to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.
"Israel commends the United States’ operation, led by President Trump, which acted as the leader of the free world," GIdeon Sa'ar, the Jewish state's top diplomat, wrote on social media. "At this historic moment, Israel stands alongside the freedom-loving Venezuelan people, who have suffered under Maduro’s illegal tyranny."
"Israel welcomes the removal of the dictator who led a network of drugs and terror and hopes for the return of democracy to the country and for friendly relations between the states," he further added.
The statement came hours after Maduro and his wife were seized in an overnight operation.
"This was one of the most stunning, effective and powerful displays of American military might and competence in American history," Trump told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, hailed Trump’s “bold and historic leadership on behalf of freedom and justice.”
“I salute your decisive resolve and the brilliant action of your brave soldiers,” the premier added.

The supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reportedly has an "escape plan" that involves fleeing to Russia if the current nationwide protests continue to intensify, British newspaper The Times reported on Sunday.
The plan, called "Plan B" by the British report, would include 86-year-old Khamenei and 20 close people, including family and aides.
It will also involve a way of taking his vast asset network, which, according to a 2013 Reuters investigation cited by The Times, is valued at about $95 billion, and includes the Setad organization, one of the most powerful organizations in Iran, and the Ayatollah's system of semi-state charitable foundations known for their financial obfuscation.
“The ‘plan B’ is for Khamenei and his very close circle of associates and family, including his son and nominated heir apparent, Mojtaba,” The Times said, citing intelligence sources.
The report also mentioned that, according to former Israeli intelligence official Beni Sabti, Khamenei would leave for Russia as “there is no other place for him." (JNS.org)

Marxism In The Metropolis: NYC’s New ‘Tenant Czar’ Has Targeted White Homeowners, Private Property

Based on her previous comments, New York City’s newly minted “Tenant Director” Cea Weaver will waste no time telegraphing the Mamdani administration’s radical agenda: the systematic dismantling of private property rights in favor of Soviet-style collectivism.
Weaver, a high-ranking operative within the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), was hand-picked by Mayor Zohran Mamdani to lead the city’s housing policy. Her appointment follows Mamdani’s chilling inaugural pledge to “replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism” — a phrase that sounds more like a translation from a 1917 Bolshevik pamphlet than a speech by an American mayor.
In her previous comments that have sent shockwaves through the city’s middle class, Weaver explicitly framed the abolition of property rights as a racial imperative. Breaking from the traditional language of urban planning, Weaver pivoted to a divisive, race-based attack on homeowners.
“The reality is that for centuries, we have really treated property as an individualized good and not as a collective good,” Weaver stated, echoing the core tenets of Karl Marx. She went on to warn that the transition to “shared equity” would specifically target “white families” and “some POC (people of color) families who are homeowners,” forcing them into a “different relationship to property” than the one protected by the U.S. Constitution for nearly 250 years.
In a previous social media post, Weaver said, “homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as ‘wealth building’ public policy.”
To those familiar with the Communist Manifesto, Weaver’s previous rhetoric is a textbook example of class — and now race — warfare. By categorizing the family home as a “collective good” rather than a private asset, she has raised concerns about possible state-sanctioned seizures and the destruction of generational wealth.
By singling out white families, Weaver has used the “social justice” playbook to justify what is effectively a policy of collective punishment. Under the guise of “equity,” New Yorkers fear they could be punished for achieving the American Dream, treating homeownership not as a milestone of success but as a “privilege” to be socialized by the state.
By attacking the “individualized good,” Weaver attacked the very concept of the sovereign individual. As Margaret Thatcher famously noted, “there is no such thing as society,” only individuals and families. Weaver’s stated vision could seek to erase both, subsuming the family unit into a faceless, state-managed “community use” project.
As the New York City administration moves toward “universal rent control” and “shared equity” models, the message to New Yorkers is clear: Your home is no longer your castle — it is a municipal resource, and if you belong to the “wrong” demographic, you could be first on the list to lose it. Lord God, these people are beyond scary!
We ask that drastic action be taken to rescue New York City from the jaws of these communists to an administration that truly honors its citizens and works to help them succeed in life.
We see, too, the writing on the wall: if Mandami and company are successful in ousting white residents, who traditionally vote Republican, then these homes will be made available to Democrats and other communists, thereby securing an established Democratic voting block for years to come.
We ask, Lord, that You come down with Your mighty hand and stop this scheme, in Your name, amen and amen!

Since Dec. 23, 2024, the north and south vents within Halemaʻumaʻu crater, inside Kaluapele (the summit caldera), have produced 39 lava-fountaining episodes. Episodes 13, 24, 28, 34 and 38 are highlighted in the accompanying photos.
Though it didn’t seem like it at the time, lava fountaining episodes began modestly, with heights below 650 feet through January and February. Episode 15 on March 25–26 marked a transition, with a maximum fountain height from the south vent that jumped up to 1,050 feet. Since then, fountain heights have often been in the range of 1,050-1,250 feet, except for episodes 29–32 (July 20–Sept. 2), when fountains occurred at a steep angle that limited their height. New record fountain heights occurred steadily through the year, with the current record dating from episode 35 on Oct. 17 when the fountain from the south vent reached a height of 1,574 feet.
While fountaining slowly reached higher heights during the year, the crater floor was also incrementally being raised by lava flows. Nearly 200 million cubic meters of lava has been erupted since the eruption began just over one year ago. This is more than twice the amount that erupted from Puʻuʻōʻō in an average year from 1983 to 2018.
