Faith brings light to devastated Texas town after deadly flooding disaster
|
|
KERR COUNTY, Texas – Volunteers have descended upon Kerr County, Texas, in the days following last weekend’s disastrous flood. While many have come to help with searches, cleanup efforts and donations, others are looking to heal the community in a different way. Several faith-based groups are working to help survivors and victims’ families lean on God as they grapple with the long road to recovery. Josh Holland, international director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, spoke with Fox News Digital about the impact of ministering to people who have gone through recent tragedies. The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team focuses on the spiritual and emotional needs of people in crisis, making it a good fit to help those in Kerrville through this difficult time. Immigration operation at California cannabis farms leads to clash between federal agents and protesters
|
|
Protesters clashed with federal authorities Thursday during an immigration operation north of Los Angeles at a marijuana farm allegedly employing illegal immigrants.
Multiple agents arrived at the Glass House Farms, a state-licensed cannabis facility which is considered illegal under federal law, in Camarillo. Federal authorities had a warrant for illegal employees, Fox News has learned.
Another raid also occurred at another Glass House Farm in Carpinteria.
People were seen confronting the agents, who used tear gas and smoke bombs. Federal personnel used gas to push back protesters who arrived on scene after getting word of a raid. Military helicopters were also seen flying low over the fields, a maneuver generally used to flush out people hiding.
"It is becoming increasingly apparent that the actions taken by ICE are bold and aggressive, demonstrating insensitivity towards the direct impact on our community," Luis Mc Arthur, the mayor of nearby Oxnard, said in a social media post. "These actions are causing unnecessary distress and harm. I remain committed to working alongside our Attorney General and the Governor’s office to explore potential legal avenues to address these activities."
Footage captured by the news outlet showed several people being detained. (Fox News) Read more here.

Bush-Appointed Judge Blocks Trump from Ending Birthright Citizenship for Children of Illegal Aliens
|
|
A federal judge, appointed by former President George W. Bush, has blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright American citizenship for the United States-born children of illegal aliens.
On Thursday, Judge Joseph LaPlante of the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire granted a classwide preliminary injunction to illegal aliens who have sued the Trump administration over the order.
The lawsuit is linked to George and Alex Soros’s Open Society Foundations, Breitbart News revealed in April.
“After careful consideration of the parties’ submissions, the supporting declarations, the applicable law, and the filings and record in this case, the court GRANTS Petitioners’ Motion for a Classwide Preliminary Injunction,” LaPlante wrote:
The court hereby finds that Class Petitioners have demonstrated likelihood of success on the merits of their claims; that Class Petitioners are likely to suffer irreparable harm if the order is not granted; that the potential harm to the class petitioners if the order is not granted outweighs the potential harm to Respondents if the order is granted; and that the issuance of this order is in the public interest. [Emphasis added]
Pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(a), this court orders that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, in their official capacity; the U.S. Department of State; the Secretary of the U.S. Department of State, in their official capacity; the U.S. Department of Agriculture; the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in their official capacity; the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; and the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, in their official capacity are enjoined and restrained from enforcing the Executive Order “Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship.” The court requires a nominal bond of $1 under Fed. R. Civ. P. 65(c). This preliminary injunction is STAYED for seven (7) days pending appeal. [Emphasis added]
After careful consideration of the parties’ submissions, the supporting declarations, the applicable law, and the filings and record in this case, the court GRANTS Petitioners’ Motion for Provisional Class Certification and Appointment of Class Counsel. [Emphasis added] (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Father, this situation has caused an enormous burden on states to pay for children who are in the US illegally. Our forefathers likely did not expect an open border where women come here just to have a baby where special benefits are available. We pray for a solution to this issue that comes directly from Your heart.

Trump, first lady mourn young lives lost in Texas floods, praise first responders during Kerrville roundtable
|
|
President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump arrived in Kerrville, Texas, Friday, following massive floods in the region that have taken the lives of more than 120 people.
The Trumps met with local officials and first responders who are navigating the aftermath of flash floods that devastated the Central Texas community, after the Guadalupe River surged more than 22 feet in just a matter of hours.
Speaking at a roundtable with state, local and federal officials in Kerrville, Trump said: "I've never seen anything like this. This is a bad one."
He said he had just visited with the "incredible families" who have been "devastated."
Trump thanked the first responders, adding that he and the first lady were there to "express the love and support and anguish of our entire nation."
"So all across the country, Americans' hearts are shattered," he said. "We're filled with grief and devastation. It's the loss of life, and unfortunately, they're still looking."
"My administration’s doing everything in its power to help Texas," he added.
He thanked Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for his leadership, who in turn thanked the president for the administration’s quick response to the state’s disaster declaration, adding, "We’re going to rebuild this community." (Fox News) Read more here.

Trump Sets Canada’s Tariff Rate at 35%, May Hit Remaining Countries With 15%-20%
|
|
President Donald Trump said the U.S. will increase its tariff rate on Canadian goods to 35% starting next month.
In a letter to Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney posted on Trump’s Truth Social account late Thursday, the president said the new rate would start on Aug. 1 and be separate from sector-specific tariffs.
Currently, there is a 25% tariff on Canadian and Mexican goods that don’t fall under the USMCA trade agreement. A White House official quoted in The Wall Street Journal said Trump’s letter means that number would increase.
Trump said that any attempt to evade the tariffs through transshipments—sending the goods through third countries—would trigger even higher tariffs. He added that if Canada retaliated by raising tariffs on the U.S., the U.S. would add that number to the 35% rate.
Those tariffs were put on Canada and Mexico under an emergency order targeting the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. In his Thursday letter, Trump stated that fentanyl is “hardly the only challenge we have with Canada.” He called the U.S. trade deficit with Canada “unsustainable,” accused Canada of charging “extraordinary” tariffs on American dairy farmers, and suggested that Canada blocks farmers from selling products in its country.

- Holy Father, we ask for You to guide President Trump in the tariff situation. Prior to the income tax, the US relied on tariffs for the finances to take care of the country. We pray for wisdom and knowledge for the President, and that his “art of the deal” will bring prosperity to all in our nation.

1. Netanyahu tries to rally support from right wing for Gaza ceasefire - i24 News
On the eve of a decisive meeting of the Israeli cabinet on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is working to persuade right-wing ministers in his government to accept a new ceasefire plan with Hamas.
This proposal, which includes a 60-day truce, has generating strong internal tensions, particularly around the partial military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the management of humanitarian aid.
On Saturday, having just returned from Washington, DC, Netanyahu met with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Despite several previous telephone exchanges, this meeting aimed to defuse Smotrich's opposition, as he is fiercely hostile to any agreement he would see as abandoning the war objective of dismantling Hamas. He demands that fighting resume immediately after the hostages are released.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir shares this hardline stance and rejects any idea of the Israeli army withdrawing from key areas. (Read more)

2. IDF attacks 150 terror targets in Gaza in 24 hours - JNS
The Israeli Air Force struck more than 150 enemy targets across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, including weapons storage facilities, anti-tank missile launchers, sniper posts and terrorist cells, the military said on Sunday.
IDF troops continue to operate in the area of Beit Hanoun in northeastern Gaza, killing terrorists and dismantling arms facilities, command centers and underground infrastructure.
Israeli soldiers in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza identified a terrorist preparing to attack them and coordinated an airstrike that eliminated the threat.
Five Southern Command divisions are operating in the Palestinian enclave, dismantling terrorist infrastructure above and below ground. (Read more)

3. After Hamas rejecting US proposal, Israel to present own offer - Israel Hayom
Israel plans to submit its own proposal Sunday to resolve the outstanding issues in the negotiations with the terrorist organization Hamas, after Hamas rejected a US-brokered proposal delivered Saturday. According to Arab sources familiar with the talks, Israel's proposal will include three key elements, with the primary one being the Israel Defense Forces' redeployment lines during the cease-fire.
The focal point of contention is the southern Gaza Strip, specifically the Morag Corridor and Rafah. The Israeli proposal outlines new lines of redeployment and a different timetable for IDF withdrawals, contingent on progress in negotiations over a permanent arrangement.
Israel Hayom has learned that the Israeli paper addresses two additional matters: supply arrangements and oversight, specifically, the continued delivery of humanitarian aid under IDF supervision via Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) centers, and the list of terrorists to be released in exchange for the hostages. 4. Several IDF troops hurt in Gaza fighting as Palestinians reported killed at aid site
- Times of Israel
The military announced that two soldiers were moderately hurt on Saturday in separate incidents during fighting in Gaza, as fresh deaths were reported among Palestinians at an aid distribution site.
One of the soldiers was hurt in the northern part of the coastal enclave, while the other was hurt in the southern part. In the latter incident, two other soldiers were lightly injured.
All four were taken to hospitals, and their families were notified.
The injuries came as the Israel Defense Forces said Saturday that over 250 terror targets in Gaza were hit in airstrikes since Thursday. A fresh wave of airstrikes Saturday evening hit over 35 targets in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoun, the military said. (Read more)

5. Hezbollah Violates Ceasefire 7 Times a Day on Average, IDF Figures Show - Algemeiner
i24 News – The Shiite jihadists of Hezbollah violate the ceasefire agreement with Israel more than seven times a day on average, according to Israel Defense Forces data obtained by i24NEWS and made public for the first time on Saturday.
Israel has flagged upward of 1,200 violations by Hezbollah in its report to the US-led five-country monitoring panel tasked with supervising the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
Of these, 650 violations were relayed to the Lebanese army for handling, while the rest of the times the IDF responded by attacking the violators.
The Lebanese army has identified 390 additional violations on its own initiative and filed a report saying that it had handled them.
Thus official data shows that the Lebanese army handled 52% of all violations, and 440 of the targets Israel flagged by Israel.
The majority of the infractions the Lebanese army manages to stem are concentrated in the south of the country. (Read more)

1. 'That ends now:' White House vows removal of illegal immigrants from taxpayer benefits - Fox News
The White House is ramping up efforts to remove illegal immigrants from an array of taxpayer-funded benefits, framing the move as part of a broader campaign to reduce government waste.
The Trump administration shared additional details on the new restrictions that would bar illegal immigrants from accessing more than 15 federal assistance programs, which collectively account for $40 billion in public spending.
White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers told Fox News Digital that illegal immigrants will no longer be able "to steal public benefits at the expense of hardworking American taxpayers."
"That ends now. Under President Trump, it’s America first always," Rogers said.
The lion's share of the programs being put off-limits to undocumented immigrants are overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services, while others fall under the Departments of Education, Agriculture, Labor, and Justice. (Read more)

2. Soros Network Linked to Lawsuit Trying to Stop Trump from Ending ‘Temporary’ Amnesty Program – Breitbart
George and Alex Soros’s left-wing non-governmental organizations (NGOs) network is linked to a lawsuit that seeks to stop President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from ending a temporary quasi-amnesty program for tens of thousands of migrants in the United States.
This week, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for migrants in the U.S. from Honduras and Nicaragua. Last month, Noem similarly announced an end to TPS for migrants from Nepal.
Though meant to be temporary, since the Clinton administration, TPS has been transformed into a de facto amnesty program as nearly every president has routinely extended it and designated new countries for TPS status — allowing hundreds of thousands of migrants to stay in the U.S. and hold American jobs despite otherwise having no legal status.
As Breitbart News reported, migrants are now suing to block DHS from ending TPS for Honduras, Nicaragua, and Nepal. The migrants are represented by lawyers from the National Day Laborer Organizing Network and the Haitian Bridge Alliance, among other NGOs.
The National Day Laborer Organizing Network has received millions from Soros’s Open Society Foundations from 2016 through 2022. In 2019, alone, the Open Society Foundations gave the NGO about $460,000 in funding while in 2022, the NGO got $675,000 from the Open Society Foundations.
Likewise, the Open Society Foundations has showered the Haitian Bridge Alliance with $550,000 to date, with those funds coming in 2020 and 2021. (Read more)

3. DOJ investigating Minnesota hiring practices in latest clash with Walz - Fox News
The Justice Department has launched an investigation into Minnesota "to determine whether it has engaged in race- and sex-based discrimination in its state employment hiring practices."
The inquiry is the Trump administration’s latest clash with Gov. Tim Walz’s state following his failed 2024 vice presidential bid. It comes as the Minnesota Department of Human Services is rolling out a new policy demanding supervisors "provide a hiring justification when seeking to hire a non-underrepresented candidate when hiring for a vacancy in a job category with underrepresentation" -- or else they face possible disciplinary action, including termination.
"Minnesotans deserve to have their state government employees hired based on merit, not based on illegal DEI," Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a statement. (Read more)

4. Exclusive — Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso Says ‘Time to Reign in Rogue Judges’ After Obama Appointee Blocks Defunding Planned Parenthood – Breitbart
Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) issued a scathing rebuke from the Senate floor on Thursday morning against Democrats “using the courts as a political tool,” after a district judge appointed by former President Barack Obama used her power to block Congress’s effort to defund abortion giant Planned Parenthood.
Barrasso echoed the calls of his fellow Republicans by demanding the end of “radicals in robes” using their positions in the judiciary to block President Donald Trump’s agenda through broad-sweeping nationwide injunctions. Barrasso specifically referenced U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani, who swiftly issued a Temporary Restraining Order on Monday — the same day Planned Parenthood filed its lawsuit — blocking Congress’s provision defunding Planned Parenthood through Medicaid for 14 days.
“It’s time to rein in rogue judges,” Barrasso said, according to prepared remarks first obtained by Breitbart News ahead of his 10:30 a.m. speech.
“Last Friday, President Trump signed into law our historic legislation to deliver safety and prosperity to the American people. Every Democrat in this chamber voted against it. So, once again, Democrats turned to the courts to try to do what they could not in Congress. This time it was about the government funding of Planned Parenthood. By Monday afternoon, Democrats had filed a lawsuit in Boston, Massachusetts,” he said.

5. How the CBO got it wrong again: Trump's economic bill set to generate trillions in surplus, not debt- Fox News
The Republican Congress and President Donald Trump just delivered a major victory to the American people by passing and enacting into law the historic One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB). Predictably, liberal media outlets – led by CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times and the Washington Post – continue to insist the OBBB will add trillions of dollars to our national debt.
The truth – backed by both historical experience and robust economic analysis – is the exact opposite. President Trump’s OBBB will not only boost jobs and take-home pay for America’s working-class families. It will slash deficits by trillions of dollars even as its targeted expenditures will strengthen our national defense and secure our borders. As a bonus, OBBB will rapidly accelerate the deportation of millions of illegal aliens now stealing jobs from American citizens and driving down wages.
At the center of the Fake News misinformation storm is the Congressional Budget Office. For years, the CBO has been trapped in a stale left-wing Keynesian mindset and stubbornly committed to static scoring models that fail to grasp how real-world economies respond to bold, pro-growth policies. As someone who has witnessed President Trump craft his economic agenda from inside the West Wing, I can tell you firsthand: when you cut taxes, slash job-killing regulations, achieve energy dominance, defend America’s manufacturing base with tariffs and fight for fair trade, the economy doesn’t just inch forward – it takes off. 6. Pentagon Takes Major Step To Counter China’s Chokehold On Critical Minerals- Daily Caller
The Pentagon is poised to become the largest shareholder of MP Minerals, America’s only rare earth mineral company with an operational mine, the corporation announced Thursday.
The Department of Defense (DOD) will purchase $400 million of stock in MP Minerals, which operates the only U.S.-based rare earth minerals mine in Mountain Pass, California, according to the company’s announcement. The purchase is intended to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign imports for the critical minerals used in advanced manufacturing, with China being by far the largest global producer and exporter of the minerals.
“This initiative marks a decisive action by the Trump administration to accelerate American supply chain independence,” James Litinsky, founder and CEO of MP Materials, said in the announcement. “We are proud to enter into this transformational public-private partnership and are deeply grateful to President Trump, our partners at the Pentagon, and our employees, customers and stakeholders for their unwavering support and dedication.” (Read more)

Trump defends embattled AG Pam Bondi, says 'nobody cares about' Jeffrey Epstein
|
|
|
President Donald Trump on Saturday defended Attorney General Pam Bondi as doing a "fantastic job" after she came under fire from some Trump supporters over the Department of Justice’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
"What's going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?' They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB," Trump wrote in a lengthy post on Truth Social on Saturday. "We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening."
He referred to Epstein as the "guy who never dies," adding, "For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again."
He continued to question why people were "giving publicity to Files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden administration."
They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so-called ‘friends’ are playing right into their hands," Trump wrote. "Why didn’t these Radical Left Lunatics release the Epstein Files? If there was ANYTHING in there that could have hurt the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it?"
The president said the FBI "must be focused on investigating Voter Fraud, Political Corruption, ActBlue, The Rigged and Stolen Election of 2020, and arresting Thugs and Criminals, instead of spending month after month looking at nothing but the same old, Radical Left inspired Documents on Jeffrey Epstein."
"LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT! The 2020 Election was Rigged and Stolen, and they tried to do the same thing in 2024 — That’s what she is looking into as AG, and much more," he wrote. "One year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about." (Fox News) Read more.
|
|
- Lord, there are many people who actually do care about the Epstein situation because it speaks of pedophiles that have not been prosecuted. The sin in our nation must be eradicated and if the government won't do it, we pray that You will and soon. We ask that You reveal all hidden sins, while protecting any who are innocent of any wrongdoing.
- "Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)

Summer beach day turns dangerous as lightning strikes three at St. Augustine Pier in Florida
|
|
Three people were injured after being struck by lightning in a popular summer beach getaway town on Saturday night.
Two of the victims of the strike in St. Augustine Pier in Florida were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition and one with minor injuries, according to WJXT. A third person refused to be taken to the hospital.
The pier was closed down while fire crews attended to the injured, and it was inspected for damage. It is expected to reopen on Monday.
"Please avoid the pier while emergency operations are underway — and remember, when thunder roars, go indoors," St. John's County Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post. "Stay safe and weather aware."
St. Augustine Beach Mayor Dylan Rumrell echoed that sentiment, warning residents to seek shelter if they hear thunder.
"There’s a big storm and lightning can hit at any time," he reportedly said.
According to the report, the lightning strike left beachgoers, swimmers and surfers in a panic, and many ran for their cars in the immediate aftermath. (Fox News) Read more

Editor's note:
The Lord has quickened this news to us, because the Saint Augustine beach in Florida is right beside Matanzas -- the beach where almost 400 French Huguenot heroes were killed in the fall of 1565. Their colony predated the founding of two more historic sites: Jamestown in 1607; and Plymouth in 1620. Hence, Matanzas represents the true birth of what has now become our nation.
These Huguenots, now known as the Martyrs of Matanzas, followed and obeyed the Word of God only; and refused to adhere to the teachngs of the Holy Roman Empire. Instead, they chose to give their lives to defend their religious freedom, as it was the conquistadors of Rome that put each of these saints to the sword.
As we continue to honor their legacy, we wonder if this weekend's lightning strike at the St. Augustine Beach, may have served as a warning from heaven: it is time for all of us to repent and to come back to our faith in God.
We leave this to your own discernment, as we pray in tongues over this report.

Mamdani's father sits on council of anti-Israel group tied to terror, legitimizes role of suicide bombers
|
|
|
Mahmood Mamdani, the father of socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, sits on the advisory council of an anti-Israel organization that supports boycotts and sanctions of Israel, routinely accuses the Israeli government of committing "genocide", and has expressed sympathy for suicide bombers.
The Gaza Tribunal, founded in London in 2024, says its primary goal is "to awaken civil society to its responsibility and opportunity to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza," according to its website.
Also on its website, Mahmood Mamdani is listed as a member of the group’s "advisory policy council" and is mentioned as having attended the group’s official launch in London last year.
Richard Falk, the president of the tribunal, outlined the group’s support of BDS in an online post saying, "the aim of the Tribunal is or [sic] legitimize and encourage civil society solidarity initiatives around the world such as BDS." (Fox News) Read more here.

- Father, we pray that You will begin a powerful move of Your Spirit to bring repentance to this organization that hates Your cherished people. We also ask that the candidacy of Zohran Mamdani be thwarted at every turn so that he never becomes the Mayor of New York City. Without a change o heart, Your Word falls on deaf ears.

‘Shaking repeatedly for many days’: Life on an island suffering hundreds of little earthquakes
|
|
After more than 1,800 earthquakes in three weeks, one school principal remains on a remote Japanese island—exhausted, alone, and ready to evacuate at any moment.
Tokyo (CNN) — School principal Yoshiro Tobo is one of the few people left on his remote Japanese island, where the earth is constantly shaking from earthquakes, having chosen to stay behind while his family are on safer ground.
The 52-year-old said he is exhausted and frightened to sleep, as “endless” quakes rumble around Akusekijima in the Tokara Islands, which have endured more than 1,800 earthquakes in the past three weeks.
His colleagues were among 49 evacuees, about 75% of the population, who were evacuated to the mainland by ferry on Sunday after the strongest quake hit on July 3, toppling furniture and making it difficult to stand, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Tobo, however, told CNN how he stayed behind as gatekeeper of the island’s only school, now an evacuation center.
“It has been shaking repeatedly for many days. I’ve been feeling very anxious and scared and it’s difficult to sleep,” he said.
“At their worst, the earthquakes seem endless. I can sense when a big one is coming. Even in my sleep, I can feel it approaching from a distance.”
In an emergency evacuation on Sunday, Tobo opened the school playground to the other 19 remaining islanders and five contractors, providing an open space away from any buildings which could be felled by the tremors. So far, the school remains unscathed.

- "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. . . . Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing." (2 Timothy 4:7,8)

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
