Undercover Cop Leads Cartel Member to Christ, Reveals Powerful Stories
|
|
|
For decades, an undercover narcotics officer also worked as a pastor — an intermingling of law enforcement and faith. Dale Sutherland’s story is a fascinating and dynamic journey. Known as “The Undercover Pastor,” the preacher spent 29 years working as an undercover cop “buying drugs and helping those with fewer opportunities rebuild their lives through his ministry work as a pastor,” according to an official biography.
One of the most compelling facets of his story centers on the tension he faced: placing people behind bars while also desperately working to offer them freedom from spiritual bondage. Sutherland told CBN News his journey into law enforcement began in Bible college. “I did a security job, met some police there, and started hearing them talk about it,” he said. “And I also wanted to work in an urban environment. I thought that’s where my ministry needed to be.”
Sutherland was intrigued by their stories and wondered what it would be like to try working in law enforcement for a few years. So, he joined, assuming he would learn more about the streets while honing his ministry skills. “I joined with the idea that I would get kind of an extra biblical education,” he said. “I would learn not just Bible college, but I was learning people in the streets.”
Ultimately, though, law enforcement became a career, with Sutherland staying for a total of 29 years. Along the way, he found himself sharing the Gospel not only with fellow officers but also with people he had arrested. And for the last 12 years of his police career, he served as a youth pastor at his church, living out a deeply intriguing dual role. Sutherland said he often saw men who were incarcerated find Jesus behind bars. Tragically, there wasn’t much street ministry reaching them beforehand, but being arrested sometimes changed everything for these criminals. “Behind bars there’d be chaplains and there’d be ways,” he said. “And I’ve talked to many guys who came to faith while locked up.” He recalled even helping lead a cartel member to Jesus in his office one day near the end of his career. |
|

US Senator Lindsey Graham “understood that the security of Israel and America are inseparable,” says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a statement after the South Carolina lawmaker’s sudden passing.
“He devoted his life to defending America, strengthening our alliance and standing up for the free world,” says Netanyahu.
“Israel has lost one of its greatest friends,” he continues. “America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend.”

US launches third round of strikes after Iran attacks commercial vessel in Strait of Hormuz
|
|
|
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said Saturday that U.S. forces completed a third round of strikes against Iran this week in response to Tehran's latest attack on a commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
“U.S. forces hit approximately 140 Iranian military targets with precision munitions launched by land- and sea-based fighter aircraft, drones, and naval vessels,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
According to CENTCOM, the operation targeted Iranian missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, ammunition storage facilities, communications networks and coastal surveillance positions.
Saturday's operation marked the third round of U.S. strikes against Iran this week, bringing the total number of targets hit to more than 300.
“During three nights of strikes this week, CENTCOM has struck more than 300 targets at the direction of the Commander in Chief to degrade Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels freely transiting the strait,” CENTCOM said.
CENTCOM said commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz continues to move through the strategic waterway.
The command also said U.S. forces have helped facilitate the transit of more than 800 commercial vessels carrying approximately 400 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz since early May. (Fox News) Read more here.

In the name of Jesus, we command this attack on the Strait of Hormuz to cease and desist now, in Jesus' name. We break every hindering spirit trying to block oil and ships from moving through the Strait of Hormuz, so that there will be no more delays. In Your Name, Holy One, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” (Luke 10:19)

Pentagon releases fourth batch of UFO files: 'Unlike anything I had seen'
|
|
The Pentagon released its fourth batch of files related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) on Friday. The batch contains 40 files, including an account of a UAP that a military aviator described as "unlike anything I had seen."
The fourth release, uploaded to the Department of War's UFO website, contains information from various government agencies. It includes many historical documents from the late 1940s Project Sign era and reports from early U.S. government investigations into "flying objects." The U.S. Air Force ran Project Sign for most of 1948.
The release also includes a transcript from a 1949 conference of top physicists and scientists in Los Alamos, New Mexico, some of whom worked on the Manhattan Project.
One file from the U.S. Department of Energy recounts an unidentified, diamond-shaped object that entered the airspace over a nuclear weapons facility near Amarillo, Texas, in September 2015. The facility went into lockdown as two officers pursued the object.
"Although they were unable to catch up to the object, they stopped their vehicle and got out. Once outside, they noted that the object did not make any sound," according to the report. "Furthermore, the [officers] stated that they were unable to identify any type of propulsion system on the object while using binoculars to assess the object. After viewing it for 1-2 minutes, the object then continued north offsite." (Christian Post) Read more

Appeals court strikes down Florida's 'Stop WOKE Act' in university classrooms
|
|
|
A federal appeals court panel has ruled against a Florida law aimed at curbing the discussion of concepts like critical race theory in public university classrooms.
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit issued a 2-1 ruling Tuesday against Florida's "Stop WOKE Act," siding with professors and students who challenged the law.
Circuit Judge Britt Grant, a Trump appointee, wrote the majority opinion, joined by Judge Charles Wilson, an appointee of former President Bill Clinton. Grant wrote that the law was "a breathtaking assertion of power to ban unpopular ideas from public discourse in the very places the state's own statutes recognize as centers of inquiry."
"If the First Amendment offers any boundary of protection at all for public university classrooms, this statute crosses it," Grant continued. "The ideas Florida targets may well be noxious. Or maybe not. Either way, in this context the First Amendment trusts students to figure it out for themselves."
The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, a First Amendment law firm that represented plaintiffs in one of two consolidated lawsuits challenging the law, celebrated the ruling in a statement shared with CP on Tuesday.
“Today’s ruling makes clear something we’ve known for a long time: Governments cannot censor their way to freedom,” said FIRE senior attorney Greg H. Greubel. He added that the decision "means that college remains a place where professors and students are allowed to debate controversial topics — even if politicians disagree with them.”
Also called the Individual Freedom Act or House Bill 7, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the law in April 2022, championing it as a way to prevent ideas like CRT from entering education and business.
“No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race,” said DeSantis in a statement released at the time. “In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces. There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida.”

Lord God, this is extremely disappointing, especially since this judge was a Trump appointee who is supposed to defend family rights, defend children, and our freedoms here in our nation. We plead the blood of Jesus over our children that no harm or evil will come near them. We break all of these attacks on our schools, families, and school curricula that this evil agenda will not succeed, in Jesus' name, amen.

South Carolina Gov. Appoints Lindsey Graham's Sister to Finish His Term
|
|
|
Gov. Henry McMaster (R-SC) picked Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) sister, Darline Graham Nordone, to serve as interim senator, and complete the remainder of her brother’s term.
During a press conference on Monday, McMaster expressed that it was his duty and “honor to name someone to serve in the place” of Graham, whose term runs through the end of the 119th Congress on January 3, 2027. McMaster’s selection of Graham Nordone to take her brother’s seat in the Senate comes after Graham’s office announced on Sunday that he had died at the age of 71 after “a brief and sudden illness.”
“Today, under the law, it’s my duty to and honor to name someone to serve in the place of this irresistible man, this irreplaceable man, this extraordinary man for the remainder of his term,” McMaster said. “Lindsey took care of his little sister in years long departed. It’s my honor to ask his little sister, Darline Graham to finish his work for him now.”
McMaster continued to talk about how prior to having a phone conservation with Graham Nordone regarding her serving out the remainder of her brother’s term, he “had wondered” what she would say and was humbled by her “quickness to see the duty” for her to serve.
“I want to thank the governor for selecting me to serve the remainder of Lindsey’s term. It is such an honor,” Graham Nordone said. “Lindsey has always been there for me, and now I will be there for him. My brother was the most amazing person, outstanding leader, and just a genuinely good man. He was kind and considerate and loved by his family dearly.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

Almighty God,
Thank You, Lord, that South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has now chosen Senator Graham's sister, Darline Graham Nordone, as interim senator to replace Senator Lindsey Graham. We thank President Trump for his suggestion of choosing Senator Graham's sister to occupy this suddenly open seat for the remainder of her brother's term.
We thank You, Lord, for the wonderful brother and protector of his sister that Senator Graham was after their parents died as he stepped in to take care of her. We pray that as she has watched her brother fight for America she will now carry out this mighty legacy that he has left behind and continue to vote righteously making America a mighty nation under God.
Well done, Senator Graham! Your love of family, family values and your love for our nation and Israel has left a lasting impact on our lives. We pray, Lord, that Your blessings of wisdom, discernment, and protection would now rest upon Darline Graham Nordone as she picks up this mantle of authority for America. In Jesus' name we offer this prayer, Amen and Amen.
"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it." (2 Timothy 3:14)

1. IDF Chief warns draft exemption bill will 'shatter' trust among Israeli soldiers - i24 News
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir sent a sharply worded letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz on Monday, warning that proposed legislation suspending enforcement against yeshiva students who failed to enlist would undermine trust among serving soldiers and deepen inequality in the military.
Zamir said it was “inconceivable” that the IDF, while demanding unprecedented sacrifices from its personnel, would also be required to approve widespread exemptions from prosecution.
“Such a move would create a deep rift with those serving, who have carried the burden of the fighting for nearly two and a half years, and would further increase inequality,” he wrote.
The letter followed the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee’s approval of the bill ahead of its second and third readings in the Knesset plenum. (Read more)

2. Fmr. Iranian president under house arrest after regime uncovers ties to Israel, Mossad - report - Jerusalem Post
Former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is under house arrest by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ intelligence arm after Iranian authorities uncovered a significant portion of his contacts with Israel, The New York Times reported on Monday, citing four senior Iranian officials.
For years, Israel conducted a covert operation aimed at recruiting Ahmadinejad as an intelligence asset and, at a later stage, even planned to install him as Iran’s leader following the overthrow of the regime, according to an extensive New York Timesinvestigation.
According to the report, one of the operation’s more unusual stages took place in early 2024, when a senior Hungarian government official asked Gergely Deli, rector of the Ludovika University of Public Service in Budapest, to invite Ahmadinejad to a conference on climate change. (Read more)

3. UN finally admits Hamas violently disrupting aid in Gaza - JNS
After years of claiming that Israel falsely accused Hamas of blocking humanitarian aid delivery in Gaza, the United Nations said on Sunday that the terror group, which it didn’t name, has “endangered humanitarian personnel, intimidated workers delivering lifesaving food assistance and disrupted lifesaving humanitarian operations.”
Ramiz Alakbarov, U.N. deputy special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, stated that on Saturday, armed people “affiliated with the de facto authorities” forced their way into a food distribution point in northern Gaza and entered a World Food Programme warehouse “and reportedly assaulted two truck drivers who were delivering humanitarian supplies.”
Humanitarian workers were forced to halt food distributions as a result, according to Alakbarov, who twice blamed “de facto authorities.” (Read more)

1. Netanyahu: ‘With or without an agreement, Iran will not have nuclear weapons’ - JNS.org
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday that Israel will prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons “with or without an agreement,” as he praised the Israeli Air Force’s role in recent operations against the Islamic Republic and addressed graduates of the latest IAF pilots’ course.
Speaking at the Israeli Air Force Wings Ceremony at Hatzerim Airbase near Beersheva, Netanyahu described the opening of “Operation Rising Lion,” when Israeli aircraft struck targets deep inside Iran, as “one of the most moving moments of my life.”
“I am certain it was also one of the most moving moments in your lives and in the lives of all Israeli citizens,” he said in addressing the new IAF aircrew members.
The prime minister told the graduates they were joining the Air Force after taking part in what he called the “War of Redemption,” including operations “Rising Lion” in June 2025 and “Roaring Lion,” which began on Feb. 28.
“This Wings Ceremony teaches us once again that a wonderful young generation has risen,” he said. “A generation committed to ensuring Israel’s existence. A generation that did not fear and did not hesitate. The generation of victory!” (Read more)

2. IDF eliminates Hamas commanders in Gaza - Israel National News
Earlier this week (Wednesday), the IDF struck in the northern Gaza Strip and eliminated the terrorist Khalil Jamal Khalil Manna, a commander in the Weapons Production Headquarters of Hamas’ military wing.
Throughout the war, Manna commanded rocket launcher production workshops and led the final stages of their manufacturing. He served as a key commander at the headquarters, overseeing its operations and production processes, and took part in efforts to restore the headquarters’ capabilities during the ceasefire.
Yesterday (Thursday), in an additional strike in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF eliminated the terrorist Osama Walid Deeb Muhareb, a company commander in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion. In recent months, Muhareb stored explosive devices that were intended to be used against IDF troops.
The terrorists posed a threat to IDF troops and were struck from the air in order to remove the threat.
Prior to the strikes, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance. (Read more)

3. Trump administration subpoenas New York Times journalists over new Air Force One reporting - The Guardian
The Trump administration has issued subpoenas to several New York Times journalists after the newspaper reported on security concerns with the president’s new plane, according to the outlet.
The Times said its journalists were subpoenaed on Friday by the US justice department to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan five days later, marking the latest effort by the Trump White House to compel testimony from journalists under the threat of penalty. Agents delivered some of the subpoenas to the Times reporters at their homes, the paper added.
A US justice department statement responding to a request for comment about the subpoenas mentioned investigating “breaches of national security”.
“To be clear, reporters are not the targets, those leaking classified information are,” the statement said, in part.
“We … are not going to ignore the law and stop investigating the people who work in the administration and think it’s OK to leak classified information impacting national security.” (Read more)

4. Trump says he will defer to Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh on rate hike before midterm elections - Washington Examiner
EXCLUSIVE — President Donald Trump said he will defer to Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh on the possibility of the central bank raising interest rates before the midterm elections.
The Washington Examiner spoke with the president by phone Friday morning and pointed out that markets are pricing in about a 70% chance that the Fed will raise interest rates before the November elections.
“There should be a reduction, but I’ll go with the chairman,” Trump said.
That marks a shift from Trump’s stance just months ago, when Jerome Powell was the central bank’s chairman.
Trump repeatedly and harshly criticized Powell, over the course of months, for declining to lower interest rates. Trump said the Fed needed to lower rates to make it easier for families to take out mortgages or auto loans. In selecting a new Fed chair, Trump made it clear he wanted someone who would be more eager to lower rates.
But he has so far given Warsh the latitude to conduct monetary policy as he sees fit. Trump backed off the hard line on interest rate reductions during another interview with the Washington Examiner just before Warsh entered office. (Read more)

5. Trump officials propose fencing off public spaces outside White House - The Washington Post
The Trump administration is seeking to permanently fence Lafayette Square — the public park across from the White House, where tourists and protesters often congregate — as officials say they are seeking to balance Americans’ access to the famous grounds with the need to protect the president, according to a proposal released Friday afternoon.
Under the plan, which was jointly crafted by the Secret Service, the White House and the Interior Department, officials laid out two options that they say would allow them to quickly close the park if they identify a security risk. The fences would be eight to nine feet tall and would replace the current “piecemeal” system of relying on temporary fences and bollards, the proposal says. It also says that the Secret Service anticipates “phased implementation” of the fences next year.
“The objective is to enhance long-term safety, preserve the park’s identity as a significant [National Park Service] landscape, and maintain public access to this nationally symbolic space,” according to the administration’s proposal, which was posted to the Commission of Fine Arts’s website. The commission is set to review the proposal Thursday.
The White House and the Secret Service did not immediately respond to questions about the proposal on Friday afternoon. Administration officials have said they are reassessing White House security after repeated threats to President Donald Trump, including a shooting at the White House correspondents’ dinner in April.
The plan also says the administration is considering building new fences where Pennsylvania Avenue NW intersects 15th and 17th streets NW outside the White House, but it offers few details. (Read more)

6. Trump’s plan for a triumphal arch in DC wins early approval from a key federal agency - Washington Examiner
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s plans to build a skyline-altering arch in the nation’s capital won initial approval Thursday from a key federal commission.
The National Capital Planning Commission voted to approve preliminary site and building plans for the 250-foot (76-meter) arch the Republican president wants to build on a traffic circle at the Virginia end of Memorial Bridge from Washington.
Agency staff had recommended preliminary approval along with a series of revisions to the project to comply with a federal law that limits building heights in Washington, but the commission voted to continue deliberating the height issue.
“This is a complex project,” Chairman Will Scharf said before the vote. A final vote could come at the commission’s next meeting, in September. (Read more)

The Weight of Your Word
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 13, 2026
The book of Numbers closes with Mattot (Tribes) and Masei (Journeys). Before Israel enters the Promised Land, the LORD begins with an unexpected subject, the importance of keeping your word. Numbers 30:2 says, "If a man makes a vow to the LORD, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth." God created the world by speaking, and He expects His people to value their words. Integrity builds trust between God and man, and trust is the foundation of every healthy family, church, business, and nation. The laws of vows come just before Israel inherits the land because the promises made by covenant people must be trusted.
The lesson immediately becomes practical. The tribes of Reuben and Gad wanted to settle east of the Jordan because the land was ideal for livestock. Moses challenged them, fearing they would abandon the other tribes before the conquest of Canaan. They vowed to cross the Jordan armed for battle and remain until every tribe received its inheritance. They kept that promise, as recorded in Joshua. Their faithfulness strengthened the nation because their word became their bond. Yeshua (Jesus) reinforced this principle in Matthew 5:37, saying, "Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.'" Careless promises damage relationships and weaken our witness. Faithful words reflect the character of the God we serve. Our testimony is measured as much by the promises we keep as by the message we proclaim. Read More

Mamdani official's planned meeting with Iran envoy shut down by State Department
|
|
|
A senior official in New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's administration planned to meet with Iran's ambassador to the United Nations before the State Department reportedly intervened, and the meeting was canceled.
Commissioner Ana María Archila, leader of the Mamdani administration’s Office of International Affairs, was scheduled to meet with Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani, Tuesday, the City Journal first reported.
A U.S. official familiar with the matter confirmed to Fox News Digital that the meeting had been scheduled.
The reported intervention marks the second known instance in recent weeks in which the Trump administration has stepped in over the Mamdani administration's contacts with foreign leaders, highlighting growing federal scrutiny of New York City's international outreach under its new socialist mayor.
The Office for International Affairs coordinates closely with the State Department on many diplomatic matters because of New York City's role as host to the United Nations.
Once the State Department became aware of the planned meeting, it was called off and State Department officials met with Mamdani officials to clarify acceptable conduct, a State Department official told the City Journal. (Fox News) Read more

Thank You, Lord for stopping this meeting. According to Federal law, private citizens are banned from diplomatic contacts with foreign nations, and especially one like Iran with which we are at war. The Moslem NYC mayor fancies himself more important than he actually is, and constantly attempts to disrupt America and all that we value. We pray that You will prevent any further attempts by Mamdani to resist, disrupt, and destroy the United States.

Mitch McConnell breaks silence on mystery hospitalization after Graham's death
|
|
|
|
The Kentucky senator also battled a mild case of pneumonia but says he has unfinished business to complete
|
|
Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., nearly a month after being hospitalized, revealed what actually happened to cause his absence from the Senate. In a lengthy statement released Sunday evening, McConnell attributed his childhood fight with polio to a fall he suffered last month which landed him in the hospital. He was "briefly unconscious," he said in an open letter to Kentuckians, and while recovering was hit with a "mild case of pneumonia." "My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion," McConnell said. "I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages."
Yet, when he will return to the Senate remains a mystery, something that McConnell himself acknowledged. "As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time. And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet," McConnell said. "But rest assured that, in the meantime, I’m not taking a break from the Senate business that matters to you."
His attending physician noted that McConnell has, "experienced several falls throughout the year that have been attributed to his post-polio condition. He was admitted to the hospital four weeks ago after falling at home and sustaining minor injuries," McConnell’s doctor said. "A comprehensive evaluation by a multidisciplinary team determined that he had no fractures, cardiac abnormalities, stroke, tumor, or hemorrhage," his doctor continued. "Early in his hospitalization, he developed pneumonia, which responded rapidly to antibiotic treatment."
The latest update on the longtime lawmaker’s health comes after the sudden death of Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who had just returned from a trip to Ukraine on Saturday night. McConnell’s absence, coupled with the shocking death of Graham, leaves the Senate down two crucial votes amid a dead sprint to wrap up key parts of President Donald Trump's agenda through July and into early August.
It also comes after over three weeks of speculation as to why the Senate GOP’s longest serving leader in history was sidelined.
"You’re right to expect your representatives to work hard for you. And part of my decision to retire at the end of my term this coming January was being honest about the demands of Senate work," McConnell said. "But I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do." (Fox News) Read more here.

Father God,
We thank You, Lord, that Senator McConnell has finally come forth with the truth of his health condition. We pray, Father, that You give Senator McConnell wisdom to do what is best for the Congress at this time because his absence is causing the Republican party to be missing two important votes since the sudden passing of Senator Graham this weekend. Lord, we pray that You intervene in Senator McConnell's health and give him supernatural healing so that he can quickly return to the senate floor to vote!
We pray, Father, that you strengthen Senator McConnell's mind and his inner man so that he can complete the assignments that the people of Kentucky have entrusted him with. Sometimes, we have to seek wisdom to retire earlier than anticipated in order to fulfil the votes that are needed for the American people to move forward as a nation. Father God, please watch over every decision that we have entrusted to our Congress so that You will be glorified. Your will, Father, on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen and Amen.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)

Trump's voter ID bill catches unlikely break as McConnell remains sidelined
|
|
|
An unlikely reason has chipped away, for now, at Senate Republican resistance against President Donald Trump’s flagship election priority.
The Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act has hit brick wall after brick wall in the Senate, and has only twice mustered 50 votes. Still, Trump wants Republicans to pass it by any means necessary.
Republicans, however, aren’t unified behind it. One lawmaker, Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has routinely voted against the bill in its variety of iterations, earning the personal ire of Trump.
"Mitch McConnell," Trump told reporters last month. "He's very disloyal to John Thune. You know, John Thune was a very good person for him. I mean, he's a very loyal person, and Mitch McConnell's against him almost all the time because he's angry, I guess. Probably at me."
McConnell has been absent from the Senate, which is currently in recess, for almost three weeks due to health issues. When he will return still remains unclear. (Fox News) Read more here.

Lord God of Truth, if indeed the SAVE Act could be passed now, we ask that it happen. If Senator McConnell is not returning, we ask that transparency be revealed regarding his absence. Let no member of the Senate be allowed to stall, lie, or stand in the way of the truth on both issues. We call on Your Holy Spirit to bring a move of repentance across our government.
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

'Spectacular' shipwreck found with underwater time capsule of untouched cargo: 'Amazing find'
|
|
|
Archaeologists recently uncovered an 18th-century shipwreck in Norwegian waters containing the best-preserved cargo of its kind ever found in Northern Europe.
The shipwreck's cargo is "unlike anything ever previously found in shipwrecks in Northern Europe," said Hanna Geiran, director of the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.
The organization announced the discovery earlier in June. The shipwreck was found by Espen Saastad, a watch designer who also operates a small remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and survey company.
The wreck lies about 1,970 feet beneath the surface in the Skagerrak Strait off Norway's southeastern coast, with pictures showing stacks of porcelain dishes and other artifacts resting on the ocean floor among the ship's remains.
Geiran told Fox News Digital it's generally rare to find such well-preserved cargo from 18th-century ships.
So far, large quantities of undamaged Chinese porcelain have been identified, together with parts of chandeliers, goblets, bottles and barrels of grain.
"Rows of crates have also been discovered but have not yet been examined," she said.
"One of these appears to contain textiles, while another has a range of organic material, which may include tea, herbs and medicines." (Fox News) Read More

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up."
(James 4:10)

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
