Revival Grips Brazil's Amazon. We Baptized 14,500 people!
|

|
AMAZON RIVER BASIN, Northwest Brazil – A profound spiritual transformation is unfolding in the Amazon.
For centuries, the Catholic Church held a near-monopoly in the region. Today, evangelical Christianity is reshaping the region's spiritual fabric, leading to new converts and churches. CBN News traveled to Brazil's northwest Amazon region to witness it firsthand for this exclusive report.
Linger on the banks of the Amazon River, and you'll uncover more than the rich tapestry of life amid the natural splendor.
Spanning more than 6 million square miles of South America, 60% of the Amazon rainforest is in northwest Brazil. The approximately 30 million Amazonians currently living here are experiencing an unprecedented evangelical revival.
The Amazon River here in the northern part of Brazil is filled with hundreds of these small tributaries that, in essence, snake through the jungle, and over the many years, evangelical Christians have been traversing these waters in an attempt to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the Amazonian people.
"Those early days were definitely much, much more difficult than today," said Josué Bengtson, pastor of Belem Foursquare Church. Bengtson has spent decades traversing the river's intricate network, first as a missionary then as a pastor spreading the evangelical message of salvation.
"Back when we started evangelizing in this region, we had just a few workers and, in some municipalities, pastors had to walk 10 to 15 km to open a congregation," Bengtson told CBN News. "Today, almost all medium-sized churches in the Amazon have a small boat."
Bengtson helped establish one of the Amazon's first Foursquare churches. Today, he says the evangelical presence here is undeniable, with 3,200 Foursquare congregations alone flourishing across the region. "In the first six months of this year, we baptized 14,500 people. Our goal for this year is to baptize over 30,000 people," said Bengtson. (CBN) Read more here

God Almighty,
Let the earth and the heavens echo our praise as we shout hallelujah for the 14,500 people that were baptized in the Amazon River Basin in Northwest Brazil. As evangelical Christianity reshapes the region's spiritual fabric, many new converts and churches are being added to areas that were once monopolized by the Catholic church.
Lord, as these evangelical Christians continue to traverse the tributaries of the Amazon River they are bringing Jesus into these riverside communities and bringing many into the kingdom of God. We pray for divine protection over the pastors and their teams who are bringing the Spirit of the Living God to all that are willing to listen. Ramos, an 83 year old resident of the Amazon River is thanking God for this spiritual shift that is taking place in what he calls his sanctuary.
We pray, Father, that many will come to know You as their Lord and the fragrance of revival will linger in the air wooing others to salvation. We humbly offer this prayer with gratitude. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Darline Graham Nordone Sworn Into Brother’s Senate Seat

Darline Graham Nordone, the sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), was sworn into her brother’s old Senate seat on July 14.
Nordone, who had never held public office, became the first female to represent South Carolina in the Senate. She was appointed by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster on July 13 and is expected to finish Graham’s term, which lasts until Jan. 3, 2027.
Nordone has not said whether she will run for a full term.
Nordone was known for her close relationship with her brother, who died at the age of 71 on Saturday from an aortic dissection due to an aortic rupture. “My brother was the most amazing person, outstanding leader, and just a genuinely good man,” she said at an event where McMaster announced the appointment.

Supreme Court Justices Seek More Security Funding Amid Rising Threats

Supreme Court Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Elena Kagan appeared before Congress on July 14 to ask for more cash to beef up security.
The request comes amid increasing threats to members of the court over the past few years, especially following the leak of an opinion overturning Roe v. Wade.
In her opening statement, Barrett told the representatives that the security threats had forced her children to “think about and see things that children should not have to see or think about.”
“Maybe I lack imagination, but I didn’t expect that performing this service was going to put me in the position of explaining to my children what a bulletproof vest was and why I had to wear one,” Barrett told the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government.
Kagan also said the security protocol has ramped up since she joined the court in 2010. At that time, she said, law enforcement was focused on protecting the Supreme Court Building itself; she did not have a security team of her own and only needed security personnel during public appearances.
That began to change in about 2017, she said, when security details were assigned to all of the justices instead of just Chief Justice John Roberts.

E. Jean Carroll Paid $5.6 Million in Trump Sex Abuse and Defamation Case

E. Jean Carroll received the $5.6 million payment for damages awarded to her by a jury that found President Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming her, her attorney said July 14.
The court and her attorney confirmed receipt of the payout that had been held in escrow since the 2023 verdict.
“Three years ago, a unanimous nine-person jury found President Trump liable for sexually assaulting and defaming E. Jean Carroll,” Attorney Roberta Kaplan, Carroll’s lawyer, said in a statement. “Today, we are pleased to report that she has received the damages payment the jury awarded her as a result of that verdict.”
Carroll, 82, also confirmed the news by posting a photo of a New York Times article about the payment on X, along with the text, “The Eagle has landed.”
A federal judge in New York ruled July 8 Carroll was entitled to collect the jury’s award, which included the $5 million plus interest.
Trump promptly appealed the disbursement order through his attorneys to halt the payment, but it was unclear whether higher courts would act on the appeal. (The Epoch Times) Read much more here.

U.S. Bombs Iran’s Bushehr, Home to Its Only Known Nuclear Power Plant

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the arm of the Pentagon responsible for the Middle East, confirmed on Monday that its forces had conducted military strikes on a variety of targets throughout Iran, including the city of Bushehr, the home of the country’s only known functioning civilian power plant.
The strikes are part of a renewed campaign against the Iranian terrorist regime that began in response to Iran resuming violent attacks on seemingly random commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz in the first week of July, coinciding with a week-long mourning period in which the country held funerals for late dictator Ali Khamenei. President Donald Trump announced on February 28 that the former “supreme leader” was eliminated in the first American airstrikes as part of Operation Epic Fury, a campaign to erode Iran’s ability to pose a threat to its neighbors.
Operation Epic Fury was paused by a ceasefire in April, then allegedly fully concluded following the signing of a “memorandum of understanding” between Washington and Tehran in late June. As part of the memorandum, Iran committed to not interfering in free commerce in the Strait of Hormuz, a commitment it broke by resuming strikes on ships in early July.
President Trump has since stated that the ceasefire with Iran is “over” but he is still willing to engage in negotiations with the country’s remaining leadership.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue ‘talks.’ We have agreed to do so, but the United States has stated to them, in no uncertain terms, that the Cease Fire is OVER! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump wrote last week on his websites, Truth Social.
CENTCOM issued a statement late on Monday detailing its activities in Iran. In a “five-hour mission,” the command noted, “U.S. forces successfully struck military targets across Iran including Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas to further degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping.” Bushehr is a coastal city in southern Iran located on the shores of the Persian Gulf.
“CENTCOM forces employed precision munitions against Iranian coastal defense systems, missile and drone sites, and maritime capabilities,” the statement explained. “More than 50,000 U.S. service members are currently deployed across the Middle East. House Bills May Deliver Key Parts of SAVE America Act
|

|
Two House bills could effectively implement the key voter integrity provisions of the SAVE America Act, an election security bill struggling to pass the Senate.
The SAVE America Act, which passed the House but not the Senate, would require government identification and proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections and also restrict mail-in ballots, while prohibiting men in women’s sports and transgender procedures for children.
Two new House bills would implement the act’s core provisions with federal funding for states attached, which could allow the Senate to consider passing them via the budget reconciliation process. The process, reserved for budget-related measures, requires only a majority vote for passage rather than the customary 60 votes to overcome the filibuster.
Last month, House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil, R-Wis., reintroduced a bill requiring voters to show photo ID when voting in a federal election, while absentee voters can attach a copy of their ID to their ballot. It also creates a new grant program, administered by the Election Assistance Commission, to reimburse state and tribal governments for providing the IDs. The bill allows eligible voters who forget their IDs to cast provisional ballots.
Separately, Reps. Julie Fedorchak, R-N.D., and Laurel Lee, R-Fla., introduced the SAVE America Through REAL ID Act as a grant program for states to implement REAL ID cards while also requiring the use of photo ID for voting. The cards would indicate whether someone is a U.S. citizen. Lee is the chairwoman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Elections.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh agreed the order was unlawful, yet he ruled that it violated a 1940 federal law rather than settling the question forever. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., said the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE) America Act would make it harder for Democrats to win elections, prompting Republicans to argue she had finally said "the quiet part out loud" about Democrats' opposition to stricter election laws.

In a Truth Social post Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump announced he is endorsing MyPillow founder Mike Lindell in his campaign for governor of Minnesota. Lindell, a Republican, has remained a staunch supporter of Trump, dating back to his first term in office, and repeatedly voiced his concerns about potential fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Voting machine companies Dominion and Smartmatic both filed lawsuits against Lindell over his statements about the 2020 election.

6. JD Vance accuses Israel of secret plot against him, drops Mossad-Epstein bombshell - DML News
JD Vance has claimed he is the target of an Israeli-funded propaganda campaign over his Iran peace push, and that Jeffrey Epstein had ties to the ‘highest levels’ of Mossad. The Vice President made the explosive allegations during a nearly three-hour sit-down with podcaster Joe Rogan.
Vance pointed to a Time magazine report he said proved American influencers were being paid to attack the Iran deal. The report notes that money has flowed through a former Trump campaign operative and is bankrolled by elements of the Israeli government.

President Trump announced a memorandum of understanding intended to halt hostilities with Iran, hoping to create space for diplomacy. Within days, however, Iran resumed attacks on US interests, prompting renewed American airstrikes. Whether the ceasefire was a sincere effort at peace or a strategic pause remains open to debate. Clearly, headlines often tell only part of the story. Public statements serve political, diplomatic, and military purposes, while decisions behind the scenes often unfold on different levels. The lesson is simple. Wise people wait for facts before drawing conclusions. History teaches that appearances can be carefully managed while entirely different plans develop beneath the surface.
Since 2005, the International Atomic Energy Agency has repeatedly found Iran in violation of its safeguards obligations. UN Security Council resolutions from 2006 through 2010 required Tehran to suspend enrichment activities, cooperate fully with inspectors, and disclose nuclear activities. Those requirements largely went unmet. Even after a 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, disputes over inspector access, undeclared nuclear material, advanced centrifuge development, and uranium enrichment continued. In 2025, the IAEA again found Iran in noncompliance. Iran has failed or refused to fully honor significant international nuclear obligations dozens of times over the past two decades. US Offers $10 Million Reward for Information on Russians Indicted on Cyber Crimes Against 21 States

The U.S. State Department is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information on, or the locations of, associates of three Russian nationals suspected of coordinating widespread cyberattacks against U.S. companies, causing millions in damages, prosecutors announced July 14.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Ohio unsealed indictments Tuesday for Alexander Alexandrovich Volosovik, 43, Kirill Andreevich Zatolokin, 34, and Yulia Vladimirovna Pankova, 29, all of St. Petersburg, Russia.
The charges include conspiracy to commit and aid and abet computer fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
United States Attorney David M. Toepfer for the Northern District of Ohio said, “The victims in this case are not only in Ohio, but also in 20 other states across the country, touching every aspect of Americans’ lives. They include banks, schools, government entities, hospitals, and media companies.”
The three Russia-based defendants manage Media Land and ML.Cloud infrastructures out of St. Petersburg, while its infrastructure was previously located throughout China, Russia, Finland, the Netherlands, and the United States, according to U.S. authorities.
“From their overseas safe haven, these defendants ran the criminal infrastructure that powered attacks on critical institutions across our nation,” said Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division.
Prosecutors say the companies were used by malicious cyber actors to engage in ransomware attacks, phishing attacks, “brute force” cyberattacks, and to host criminal forums and online criminal marketplaces.
Authorities also claim the companies were used to send DDOS attacks—malicious cyber attempts to disrupt websites and networks by overwhelming them with bogus online traffic causing congestion—to U.S. companies and critical infrastructure.
Media Land also allegedly helped with hundreds of other malicious cyber activities between 2016 and 2024 that contributed to at least $61 million in damages, according to the Justice Department. The malware and ransomware targeted banks, schools, government entities, hospitals, and media companies in the United States, prosecutors claim. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Jehovah Makeh,
You are the God who smites and punishes the sins of the wicked. Lord, we beseech You to find these perpetrators who are causing malicious Cyber attacks against our government entities, banks, hospitals, schools and media companies and bring them to justice in the United States of America. We pray that these Russia based defendants that manage Media Land and ML. Cloud companies will be captured and held accountable for their wicked deceit that has caused victims' computers to be infected with malware and ransomware and has cost at least $61 million in damages according to our Justice Department.
Lord, it is our prayer that this $10 Million Dollar Reward for information on these Russians be enough for someone to come forward and provide the Justice Department with their whereabouts and thus destroy this wicked web of lies and deceit.
Father, let the hounds of heaven chase them and bring them out of the demonic holes where they are hiding into Your marvelous light.

Desperate Democrats Aim for Gerrymandering in Time for 2028

Although the midterm election is less than four months away, the redistricting wars are far from over. This time, however, Democrats have set their sights on the 2028 general election. Democrats in the Old Line State announced last week that they will host a special legislative session next month to push an amendment to Maryland’s state constitution, allowing for hyper-partisan gerrymandering.
Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson (D) and House of Delegates Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk (D) made the announcement in a joint statement. “Consensus on this issue has been clear in the House. Maryland needs a durable, transparent constitutional framework for congressional redistricting that reflects the evolving legal landscape,” Peña-Melnyk said. “This special session gives the General Assembly the opportunity to respond thoughtfully to recent court decisions while ensuring that Maryland voters have the final say on any proposed constitutional changes.”
Ferguson had previously opposed an effort to redistrict ahead of November’s midterms. While the Maryland House, backed by Governor Wes Moore (D), passed a bill to eliminate the state’s sole Republican-held congressional district in February, Ferguson allowed the legislation to stall and eventually die in the Senate. He warned at the time that Maryland’s current congressional maps, which netted seven congressional seats for Democrats and only one for Republicans, had never been scrutinized by the Maryland Supreme Court and that further gerrymandering would trigger judicial review of not only the proposed new maps but also the current maps. Given that the majority of sitting Maryland Supreme Court justices were appointed by former Republican Governor Larry Hogan, Ferguson doubted that the current maps would survive judicial review, likely resulting in Democrats actually losing seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
However, the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, largely neutering Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA) and effectively outlawing minority-race-based redistricting, evidently prompted Ferguson to change his mind. “After recent court decisions weakened the federal Voting Rights Act and created new uncertainty around congressional redistricting, Maryland needs a clear legal path forward,” Ferguson said last week, referring to the holding in Louisiana v. Callais. “This special session will allow the General Assembly to do its part while ensuring that Maryland voters make the final decision.”

As the Democratic party sets their sights on the 2028 elections in Maryland with a special legislative session next month to push an amendment to Maryland's state constitution that would allow this hyper partisan gerrymandering, we pray God that You would make sure that this falls to the ground and is destroyed. Lord, as this redistricting attempt tries to take place that would give Democrats more votes, we pray for complete transparency of what they are doing as they already have enough votes in their House and Senate to bring to the Maryland voters on the November 2026 ballot.
Father, America's future is in Your hands as the wicked try to destroy everything that this nation was founded on. Forgive us for the spirit of complacency in our churches and for the Christians that have allowed this to happen by not staying informed and by not voting when we need to. This is not the time to sit back and do nothing, but it is the time to gather together as we fight with our votes to take down this wickedness that is trying to conquer and destroy our nation!
Give the people of Maryland wisdom and discernment and let them fight for freedom with their votes. We call forth God's people to Pray.. Act...Speak and Vote because the only way the enemy can win is if righteous men do nothing!

You shouldn’t need a permit to pray in your own home — the Supreme Court should agree

A zoning technicality is being used to lock Americans out of court when the government chills their First Amendment rights. The Supreme Court should put a stop to it.
When the government threatens you for exercising a constitutional right, can it force you to run a bureaucratic gauntlet before a federal court will even hear your case? On June 30, 2026, the Supreme Court agreed to answer that question in its next term in Grand v. City of University Heights. It should answer no.
A prayer group and a cease-and-desist letter
Daniel Grand is an Orthodox Jew in University Heights, Ohio. His faith calls him to pray with a minyan, a quorum of 10 men, and forbids driving on the Sabbath. This makes attending a distant synagogue impractical. So, he invited a dozen neighbors to pray at his home, but someone complained. Days later, on Jan. 21, 2021, the city of University Heights sent Grand a cease-and-desist letter. The city told Grand he’d have to get a special use permit to use his home as "a place of religious assembly." If he didn’t get the permit and continued to host a minyan, he could be cited for code violations and fined. All this while his neighbors were free to host friends to watch a ball game, play poker or socialize.
Grand canceled his next prayer meeting and applied for the permit through University Heights’ zoning process. Yet that process was hostile as it was Kafkaesque. Grand was heckled at a zoning board hearing, with one neighbor voicing fear that the neighborhood would "be labeled as Jewish." And that special use permit? Grand learned that if he obtained the required permit, it would change his home to a "house of worship" under the zoning code. That meant Grand could pray there, but he couldn’t sleep there since it would no longer be considered a residence. Grand abandoned the permit process and instead filed a civil rights lawsuit to protect his First Amendment right to pray in his own home.
When Grand sued under the First Amendment and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA), the courts never reached the merits. A unanimous Sixth Circuit panel threw the case out as unripe. Because Grand withdrew his permit application, a "final decision" had not been reached. And under the 1985 takings case Williamson County Planning v. Hamilton Bank, a land-use claim isn’t ripe until government officials reach a final decision through the prescribed administrative process. The Sixth Circuit took a rule about property takings and used it to shut the courthouse door on a First Amendment claim. (Fox News) Read much more here.

Father God,
This situation is an official, tangled mess!
And this situation also demonstrates why our Constitution has separated the church from the state: that the state has no business of interfering with matters of the church; while the church has every right to serve as a watchdog over the affairs of state!
In this situation, we stand by Daniel Grand, supporting him in prayer. It does seem that, the longer this matter stretches out over time in our courts of law, the more ridiculous and futile it is!
We take up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and we sever asunder the cords of the wicked within the legal system, that is prolonging Mr. Grand's right to simply offer prayers in his home.
We also smell a communist infiltration in this matter, in which the enemy has cleverly tried to bind up this case in a series of unending, futile attempts in order to strangle its outcome.
Lord God, according to Your Word, we ask You to forgive his enemies, for they know not what they do. By challenging Mr. Grand, they are challenging You, O Most High! How dare they??

'Significant' early Christian church emerges beneath former fish market in ancient city
|

Archaeologists in Italy recently unearthed the remains of a city's earliest known Christian church — all near the site of a former fish market.
The discovery was announced in a June press release by the Archaeological Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan Area of Venice and the Provinces of Belluno, Padua and Treviso.
Pictures shared with Fox News Digital show the remains of the ancient church, including intricate polychrome mosaic floors and human burials alongside its foundation walls. The remains are located in Oderzo, some 40 miles northeast of Venice, in the area of a former pescheria, or fish market.
The church dates to between the fourth and fifth centuries A.D., during the Late Roman period. Oderzo was known as Opitergium at the time.
Excavation at the site began last November as part of preparations for a residential redevelopment project in the city's historic center.
Archaeologists determined the 1,600-year-old building was a large rectangular church measuring about 75 feet wide and at least 98 feet long, with a central aisle and two side aisles. (Fox News) Read More
