US Military Strikes Iran After Deaths of 3 US Service Members

|
The United States military launched a new round of airstrikes against Iran, the military announced on Sunday.
“CENTCOM began conducting a new wave of strikes against Iran at 7 p.m. ET today for the ninth consecutive night,” U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) wrote in a post on X. “The strikes will continue degrading Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz.”
CENTCOM said the latest round of strikes were completed at around 10 p.m. ET, targeting Iranian military command centers, air defense and coastal surveillance sites, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communications networks.
President Donald Trump said the latest strikes were carried out in honor of three American service members killed in recent Iranian attacks in the Middle East.
“We hit them very hard again tonight, and we did that in honor of the probably three, as opposed to two, great patriots,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on July 19.
According to CENTCOM, one American service member was killed in Iraq on July 18 during “a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance” on a downed Iranian attack drone, while another was injured.
Two other U.S. service members died in Jordan, and a third remains missing following an Iranian attack launched on July 17. CENTCOM said that unidentified remains have been found at the site and that the examination process to identify them is ongoing. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

US Service Member Killed in Detonation of Iranian Drone in Iraq, Military Says

The U.S. military on July 19 said that an American service member was killed in Iraq in an attempt to detonate an Iranian drone, the third service member to die in recent days.
In an X post, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that a U.S. service member in northern Iraq was killed on July 18 “during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone.” A second service member was wounded with a minor injury, the command said.
It reiterated that two other U.S. service members died and confirmed the missing status of another in Jordan following an Iranian attack that was launched on July 17.
“After a thorough search, U.S. military personnel found unidentified remains at the location earlier today. An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
More details about the service members who died or went missing are being withheld pending their families being notified, CENTCOM said.
The last recorded death of a U.S. service member was a helicopter pilot who crashed in the Arabian Sea earlier in July, the U.S. Navy said. A search of more than 100 hours for the missing service member was ended on July 5, it said. (The Epoch Times) Read more.

More than 10 aircraft entered restricted New Jersey airspace as NORAD urges pilots to check restrictions
|

|
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) announced on Sunday that its F-16s intercepted multiple aircraft that violated temporary flight restrictions over New Jersey.
NORAD F-16 fighter jets intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft that violated the temporary flight restriction airspace over Bedminster and East Rutherford in New Jersey, according to NORAD.
More than 10 general aviation aircraft entered restricted airspace on Sunday, including three that NORAD said it had to intercept.
During two of the intercepts, NORAD aircraft dispensed flares to draw the pilots’ attention, which may have been visible to the public. NORAD said the flares were deployed "with the highest regard for safety, burn out quickly and completely, and pose no danger to people on the ground."
All general aviation aircraft were safely escorted out of the area by NORAD aircraft, NORAD said. "Should NORAD aircraft intercept a general aviation aircraft, the pilot should immediately come up on frequency 121.5 or 243.0 and turn around to reverse course until receiving additional instructions on one of those frequencies," NORAD said. US to send dozens of aerial refueling tankers to Israel
|

|
The Trump administration is preparing to send dozens of additional aerial refueling tankers to Israel as it weighs a possible expansion of the war against Iran, Axios reported, citing three Israeli and US sources.
According to the report, US President Donald Trump is considering several options, including strikes on Iranian infrastructure, further attacks on the country's nuclear facilities intended to bury its stockpiles of enriched uranium, and an attack on the underground site at Pickaxe Mountain, which is suspected of being linked to Iran's nuclear program.
The report comes amid an escalation in US attacks on Iranian targets in recent days in response to Iranian strikes on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which violated a memorandum of understanding signed by Washington and Tehran.
The presence of US refueling tankers at Ben Gurion International Airport has caused tensions in Israel in recent days. Transportation Minister Miri Regev ordered 13 US tankers parked at the airport to be relocated to prevent disruptions to civilian flights carrying Israeli passengers.
The decision was intended to limit the number of tankers allowed to remain at the airport to 20, enabling civilian flights to operate normally during the peak August travel season. (Israel Hayom) Read more here.

2. Lebanese military deploys in three 'pilot program' areas, securing Hezbollah-free zones - Jerusalem Post
A pilot program in which Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) troops will enter designated areas in southern Lebanon to verify they have been cleared of Hezbollah operatives and weapons is expected to begin in the near future, two people familiar with the matter told The Jerusalem Post on Monday.
Later on Monday, the IDF confirmed that the "Safe Zone" pilot program had begun with cooperation from the US and Lebanese militaries.

3. Ben Gvir's ultimatum to Netanyahu - Israel National News
Otzma Yehudit chairman and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Monday), stating that the removal of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara would be a non-negotiable condition for his party's participation in the next governing coalition.
At the beginning of the letter, Ben Gvir recalled that he had already sought to remove the Attorney General at the start of the current government's term. He claimed that Baharav-Miara has acted "in constant opposition to the elected government and with glaring unprofessionalism," adding that at the time Netanyahu told him that "that's not how things are done."
According to Ben Gvir, since that conversation the Attorney General has continued to obstruct the government's policies, prevent appointments the government sought to make, and even support what he described as an effort to remove him from his position as National Security Minister through a petition to the High Court of Justice. 4. Netanyahu slams NYC mayor’s arrest threat - JNS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office on Sunday slammed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani over remarks suggesting he could seek to arrest the Israeli leader if he visits the city, accusing him of “attacking the leader of the Jewish state and the only democracy in the Middle East.”
The PMO dismissed the International Criminal Court as a “kangaroo court” with “no jurisdiction over Americans or Israelis,” and called its arrest warrant for Netanyahu “bogus.” The statement said that the warrant was issued by disgraced former ICC prosecutor Karim Khan shortly before sexual misconduct allegations against him became public, in a “clear attempt by Khan to divert public attention and seek protection from scrutiny.”
Netanyahu’s office asserted that under his leadership, Jerusalem has “taken unprecedented wartime measures to minimize harm to civilians while confronting Hamas,” which the statement described as a “genocidal terrorist organization that uses Palestinians as human shields and deliberately targets innocent Israeli civilians.” (Read more)

Al-Hayya, unlike Mashaal, is close to the regime in Iran, and his election underlines the ongoing close ties between Iran and Hamas, both of which are avowedly committed to the destruction of Israel.

1. Trump says Canada will face tariffs over wildfire smoke, claiming ‘willful negligence’ - The Hill
President Trump threatened on Friday to impose additional tariffs on Canada, accusing the country’s government of “willful negligence” in its handling of massive wildfires that have wafted heavy smoke and worsened air quality in parts of the Midwest and East Coast.
“We are holding Canada responsible for the fact that they are not properly maintaining their Forests, and Brush therein, and the United States is being unnecessarily invaded by filthy, polluted, and unhealthy air, the quality of which is dangerous, and totally unacceptable!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
More than a dozen U.S. states are under air quality alerts as wildfires continue to burn across Canada and in northern Minnesota, with officials urging residents in some major U.S. cities, such as Chicago and Washington, D.C., to stay indoors or wear masks due to potentially hazardous air pollution.
The Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, a fire protection service based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, reported 897 active fires as of Friday, with Ontario, Quebec and the Northwest Territories seeing the most activity. Fewer than 100 of those fires are considered “under control.” (Read more)

2. Trump calls for revocation of ABC, NBC licenses over speech snub - POLITICO
Trump called out NBC and ABC during his remarks, accusing the networks of covering up what he labeled election fraud.
“In a rare move, NBC and ABC fake news have both said that they would not cover this speech. They knew what it was about,” he said. “Fraud like this should mean a revocation of their licenses.”
TV networks are not required to air presidential remarks in primetime. Past presidents have traditionally reserved such major addresses for national crises or critical moments. Outlets have traditionally provided live coverage, but there have been exceptions.
Multiple networks declined in 2022 to broadcast President Joe Biden’s address on threats to democracy. ABC, CBS and NBC did not air President Barack Obama’s 2014 primetime speech on immigration. (Read more)

3. NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani considers Netanyahu arrest ahead of UN General Assembly visit - Jerusalem Post
The New York mayor said Netanyahu "belongs in the Hague" and aims to act in accordance with the International Criminal Court, though he's not sure he has the authority to issue the order to the NYPD.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration is deliberating an order to arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits New York City for the UN General Assembly in September, The New York Times reported on Saturday.
“I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in the Hague,” Mamdani told NYT podcast host Lulu Garcia-Navarro on The Interview.
“He’s a war criminal who has been charged by the International Criminal Court [ICC],” Mamdani added. “And what you will find is that it is an opinion that is held by many, purely because of what his actions have wrought over these last many years.”
Though Mamdani is in “active conversation” with New York’s law department over the potential detention, he said he’s not clear whether he actually has the legal authority needed to order the New York Police Department (NYPD) to arrest Netanyahu.
“Whatever the law allows me to do in New York City, that’s what we will do, but we won’t be writing our own laws to that end,” Mamdani said. (Read more)

4. Push to defund Planned Parenthood turns up as policy left out of reconciliation 3.0 - The Hill
Anti-abortion groups are turning up their activism after a prohibition on Medicaid funding going to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood was left out of Republicans’ reconciliation 3.0 framework.
The dynamic threatens to exacerbate the tension between Republicans and anti-abortion activists, who were already expressing displeasure with the Trump administration for failing to use executive authority on issues like rolling back approval for medication used in abortions to be delivered by mail.
A one-year ban on abortion providers being able to bill Medicaid for non-abortion services, which was included in the GOP’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act that President Trump signed last year, expired on July 5.
Republicans’ second shot at a reconciliation bill was a “skinny” package aimed at restoring funding for immigration enforcement and Border Patrol. And this week, House Republicans released a $95 billion reconciliation 3.0 framework teeing up money for defense, farm aid, and grants to encourage voting restrictions — omitting any measures to offset that new spending, or any other special provisions, including the measure to restrict Medicaid funds from going to abortion providers. 5. Taylor Farms launches recall in 27 states after iceberg lettuce tied to outbreak - Washington Post
Hours after Taylor Farms announced Friday that it was voluntarily removing iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market, the Food and Drug Administration said the company informed the agency that it would also initiate a recall.
The comments express frustration and anger over a food contamination outbreak linked to Taylor Farms, with many blaming the Trump administration for deregulating safety measures and prioritizing corporate profits over public health. (Read more)

6. Iran attacks US allies in Middle East as renewed conflict enters third week - The Guardian
Iran launched a wave of attacks against US allies in the Middle East, as the renewal of US strikes on Iran entered a second week and fighting escalated over the strait of Hormuz.
Kuwait has accused Iran of targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure in the country, such as a power and water desalination plant. Kuwait, which is extremely arid, relies on desalinated water for about 90% of its drinking water.
The country was forced to briefly close its airspace as it intercepted Iranian missiles and drones, and said several Kuwaiti firefighters and a worker were injured while battling blazes sparked by Iranian strikes.
Bahrain also activated its air sirens on Saturday, warning residents to shelter after it detected possible incoming drones or missiles, while Jordan’s state-run Petra news agency said that the kingdom’s air defence systems had downed Iranian missiles. Two US military personnel were killed in Jordan on Friday defending an Iranian attack, US Central Command said in a statement on Saturday.
The Iranian attacks on US allies in the region came in response to US attacks on civilian infrastructure including bridges and power facilities.
Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, on Saturday warned of “unforgettable lessons” if the US continues attacks. (Read more)

Devarim, The Words That Change Lives
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 20, 2026
The Book of Deuteronomy opens with a fitting name, Devarim, meaning "These are the words." It records Moses' final messages to Israel during the fortieth year after the Exodus, only thirty-seven days before his death. Standing on the edge of the Promised Land, Moses called the people to remember God's faithfulness, remain true to His covenant, and walk in obedience. He reviewed the journey from Mount Sinai, restated many of God's commandments, and prepared a new generation for a new beginning. These were far more than farewell speeches. They were words filled with God's authority, carrying the power to shape the future of a nation.
The name Devarim reveals something remarkable about Moses himself. Early in his calling he protested that he was "slow of speech and slow of tongue" (Exodus 4:10). Yet the man who once doubted his ability to speak became God's chosen voice to Israel. God transformed a reluctant shepherd into a man whose words have echoed through history for more than three thousand years. That transformation points to God's pattern of working through willing hearts rather than polished abilities. Moses did not become great because of natural talent. He became great because he faithfully spoke the words God placed in his mouth. Those devarim changed Israel's history, guided countless generations, and continue to challenge every reader who approaches them with a willing heart. God's Word still shapes ordinary people into extraordinary servants. Read More

DHS Warns States About Non-Citizens on Voter Rolls

|
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin recently sent letters to the secretaries of state of California, New Jersey, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, warning them that tens of thousands of non-citizens are illegally registered to vote in their states.
“Election security is national security,” said Secretary Mullin. “As President Trump announced… DHS has identified over 250,000 potential non-citizens illegally registered to vote in just 4 U.S. states. Only Americans should be electing American leaders.”
Secretary Mullin gave the state officials two weeks to respond regarding their intentions to ensure election integrity and security.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently announced the Homeland Security Grant Program to transition away from unsecure electronic voting systems to create a paper trail for election result verification and post federal election manual audits. States will also reconcile the number of voters who participated in each federal election with the number of ballots cast and use the reliable and free U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) system to verify the citizenship status of everyone listed in the state voter registration database. We decree that the wickedness of the wicked shall come to an end in America and we shall see it in the land of the living! Lord, shut down and uproot this infestation of non-citizens that have been registered to vote by those in our government and their unrighteous teams in all of our states.
Father, we pray for great discernment and wisdom for our Homeland Security Department as Secretary Markwayne Mullin continues the investigation of the tens of thousands foreign nationals and illegal immigrants that have been allowed to vote in our elections. Lord, as the Homeland Security Grant program under FEMA transitions away from electronic voting systems and leads us back to election integrity, we pray that Your light will shine down and expose anything that is meant to destroy the United States from within.
We ask for protection for DHS, FEMA and ICE officials as they work to prevent foreign nationals from registering and voting in our elections. In Your Mighty name, we pray. Amen and Amen.

Appeals court gives Trump temporary win in mail-in voting fight
|

|
A federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., handed the Trump administration a temporary win on Friday in its attempt to increase federal oversight of elections.
In a unanimous ruling, a three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals put on hold a lower court ruling, which had blocked the U.S. Postal Service from attempting to restrict mail-in voting.
However, the Trump administration does not yet have a green light to move forward nationwide with the proposed rule. A separate judge in Massachusetts blocked the policy last month in the 23 states and the District of Columbia -- which brought the lawsuit -- and that injunction still stands for now.
The cases center on a proposed rule from the U.S. Postal Service that sought to compel states to create lists of approved voters, as well as impose stricter regulations on mail-in ballots.
Last month, Postmaster General David Steiner told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that under the proposed rule, the Postal Service would refuse to deliver mail-in ballots in states that do not turn over their voter lists.
"Yes or no -- if a state refuses to turn their absentee voter list over to the federal government, will the Postal Service still mail their ballots under this proposed rule?" asked Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich.
"Under our proposed regulation, no. We would tell the state that we need the manifest," Steiner said.
While the Trump administration cannot yet move forward with the new rule, the D.C. Circuit's ruling signals that the Trump administration may be able convince other appeals courts to let them implement the policy while the lawsuits move through the courts -- potentially past the November elections.
In a statement, a spokesperson for U.S. Postal Service said, "Because of pending litigation, we have no response to offer on any questions related to the Executive Order or the proposed rule." (ABC News) Read more here.

Lord God,
We continue to pray for righteousness to take over America's voting rules and we thank you, Lord, for this temporary win for the Trump Administration concerning its attempt to increase federal oversight of elections.

Lord, let us not be conformed to the underhandedness that is trying to cause confusion in our elections through those who do not have America's best interests at heart. Father, we pray for truth to be told and justice for those who have allowed the names of non-Americans to be put on these voting lists. In Jesus' name we call forth the passing of the Save America Act as we humbly offer this prayer. Amen.

Netanyahu ‘will not be arrested,’ Trump says

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not get arrested when he comes to New York City for the United Nations General Assembly in September.
Zohran Mamdani, mayor of New York City who promised on the campaign trail to have the Israeli leader arrested, has said that he’s exploring options with his legal advisers.
“Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested, in any way, shape or form, while in the United States of America,” Trump wrote.
The president stated that Netanyahu has been fighting against the Islamic Republican of Iran, “which recently killed 52,000 innocent protesters, and has spent the last 47 years killing American Soldiers and others.”
“The only ones that should be arrested are the people that led Iran into this unprecedented spiral of death and destruction, something that should have been dealt with years ago, by previous presidents,” Trump stated.
Mamdani recently called Netanyahu a “war criminal” and said that he was exploring options with his legal department to do “whatever the law allows me to do in New York City.” (JNS News) Read more here.

Lord God, for now, Mamdani may be the mayor of New York City, but he is not the ruler of the world. We thank you, Holy One, that our President has stepped in with his own level of authority to "lay down the (federal) law" in this matter. Any head of state has the legal permission to visit the United Nations without interference, and that certainly includes the Prime Minister of the nation of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.
We thank You, O Lord, that this matter is now under Your control, in Your holy name,

Charred beams pulled from the earth in Jerusalem’s City of David are forcing archaeologists to rewrite their timeline of the First Temple’s destruction — and offering the most tangible physical evidence yet of the catastrophe the Bible describes in stark, unflinching detail.
Excavators working the Givati Parking Lot dig, a joint project of the Israel Antiquities Authority and Tel Aviv University inside the Jerusalem Walls National Park, uncovered massive wooden beams burned when Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian army destroyed the First Temple in 586 BCE. The beams once formed the roof of an inner courtyard in a First Temple-period building. When the structure collapsed in the fire, the beams fell to the floor — and there they stayed for roughly 2,600 years, preserved by an unlikely agent: melted plaster.
“The beams appear to have served as the roof of an inner courtyard in a building from the First Temple period,” said Excavation Director Efrat Bocher. “During the destruction, they collapsed onto the floor. We believe that the plaster cladding of the building’s walls, melted by the fire, covered the charred wooden beams, and ultimately enabled their exceptional preservation.”
The find carries scientific weight beyond its emotional impact. Dr. Johanna Regev of the Israel Antiquities Authority, who is studying the beams, said their growth rings offer a level of precision rarely available to archaeologists working in Israel. “It is very rare in Israel to find wood with such a large number of growth rings,” Regev said. “Here, in the City of David, we found thick beams with many rings, offering significant research potential — with more growth rings enabling higher dating resolution. Until now we could date finds within a range of hundreds of years. Now we can attain much greater precision, narrowing the dating range down to as little as ten years.” (Israel 365 News) Read More
