Persecuted Pastor Brutally Beaten, Imprisoned Before ‘Mind-Blowing’ Miracle
|

Todd Nettleton, chief of media relations and message integration for the Voice of the Martyrs, reflected on the lead-up to the International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians, which kicked off Nov. 2 and continues throughout the month.
“It wasn’t the idea of the Voice of the Martyrs; it’s not a marketing scheme,” Nettleton said. “This is what persecuted Christians ask us to do. The first thing they ask us to do is to pray, and so the International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians is an answer to their number one request that we pray for them.”
VOM encouraged churches to participate in praying for the persecuted church, integrating this into their church activities.
The persecution watchdog noted that he had recently been on a trip where he heard direct stories from Christians who have faced persecution.
“The one that stands out to me is a pastor from India who shared about the time when he was arrested under the anti-conversion law of his state,” he said. “He was put in prison because he had been warned and he kept on evangelizing. He kept on pastoring a church and, for some reason, they wanted to make an example of him. So the first seven days that he was in prison, he was beaten repeatedly.”
Nettleton continued, “They hung him upside down and two guards would beat him literally until they were too tired to continue.”
Despite the horrific beating, he said the pastor didn’t feel the pain — something he believes is miraculous.
“God intervened and protected him and he didn’t feel the pain of that, which, again, is mind-blowing,” Nettleton said. “But then the story gets even better. So he’s beaten the first seven days of his imprisonment, and then the warden comes to him and says, ‘Hey, you know, I’m an equal opportunity warden, and, in my prison, we celebrate all the different religious festivals.'”
With Good Friday upon them, the warden decided to let the pastor celebrate and actually asked if he would want to share with other prisoners about the meaning of the day and why Christians celebrate it.

Holy Father,
We are so blessed by this article from the Voice of the Martyrs concerning a persecuted pastor from India. Lord, You were with him when he was arrested for preaching Your word and put in prison. As this pastor was hung upside down and horrifically beaten for seven days, he never felt pain! Your spirit was with him, allowing him to endure suffering for Your sake!
Even more mind blowing is that this warden, who had had him beaten, invited him to take part in all the different religious celebrations and to share what it meant to be a Christian and why Christians celebrate Easter and the resurrection. Father, we celebrate this true miracle of changing the warden's heart and for him giving this pastor two prisoners to take care of him to give him everything that he needed from that point on.
You allowed this pastor to then pray for the warden's son, who immediately was healed! Lord Jesus, grant each of us the boldness and commitment of this precious pastor so that many will be added to Your kingdom. Father, we pray now for the persecuted church all over the world and for those who are enduring persecution for Your sake. In the Mighty name of Jesus, we offer this prayer. Amen and Amen.

Democratic socialist holds large early lead in DC mayoral primary
|

|
Janeese Lewis George is holding a large early lead in the Democratic mayoral primary in Washington, DC, based on initial election results, but CNN has not projected a winner yet.
A DC councilmember and democratic socialist, Lewis George has campaigned on making the city more affordable, improving government services for DC residents and standing up to President Donald Trump.
Former DC Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, who also worked as a trial attorney for the Department of Justice under former President Barack Obama, is currently running in second behind Lewis George.
With 64% of the estimated vote reported and ballots from mail ballot drop boxes and later-arriving mail ballots still to be counted, Lewis George has nearly 53% of the vote with McDuffie at about 36%. The race would be decided by ranked-choice voting if Lewis George’s support dips below 50% as additional votes are counted.
Lewis George is well-positioned to secure the nomination even if the race is decided by ranked-choice voting given her current tally and the size of her lead. (CNN) Read more

5 chilling details from the alleged White House attack plot tied to UFC event

Alleged White House attack plot included sniper ambushes and jail-break contigency plans
|

|
Officials on Tuesday released new details about the five suspects accused of plotting a "mass casualty event" targeting President Donald Trump and other high-profile officials during the UFC Freedom 250 event held at the White House on Sunday.
Prosecutors allege the group, who were arrested in June during a multi-state sweep, coordinated an ambush involving explosive-laden drones intended to strike the north side of the White House.
The suspects were identified as Tycen C. Proper, 19, of Ohio; Bryan Omar Roa, 24, of California; Michael Alan Thomas, 32, of California; Daniel K. Eskridge, 32, of Kidder, Missouri; and Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31, of Omaha, Nebraska.

Parents Alert Authorities
The investigation began on June 10 after Proper’s parents contacted law enforcement with concerns about their son’s recent behavior.
Family members told authorities that Proper had met people online, quit his job, spent roughly $3,000 in graduation money on firearms, ammunition, body armor, camping equipment, and tactical gear, and was planning to leave home to meet members of the group.
Proper’s mother told investigators that she believed that the online group that her son was engaged with was using religion “to manipulate and influence her son,” according to the complaint.
She said she saw Proper researching and mapping locations in the area just northwest of Washington. She also said other images of maps had been sent to him via text messages.
When she asked her son what he was doing, he told her he was looking at multiple locations to conduct “recon” and “hit and run missions.” The mother thought that meant conducting shootings and then running.
Law enforcement recovered firearms, body armor, ammunition, magazines, and tactical equipment that were voluntarily turned over by family members. Authorities later executed search warrants at Proper’s residence and on his cellphone.

Iran Peace Framework to Be Signed at Resort on June 19, Swiss Foreign Ministry Says

Representatives for the United States and Iran are scheduled to sign their new Middle East peace framework at an in-person event near Lucerne, Switzerland, on June 19, the Swiss Foreign Ministry announced on June 16.
The ministry said the signing event will take place at the Bürgenstock resort.
President Donald Trump initially announced the peace deal with Tehran was finalized on June 14.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has since announced that the two sides have finalized a memorandum of understanding to end the months-long armed standoff, state-owned news agency Press TV reported.
The full details of the deal have yet to be released, but Trump’s primary focus has been on constraining Iran’s nuclear program to prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
“The only thing that really matters to me is Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and it says it loud and clear,” Trump told reporters on June 16.
Another immediate impact of the deal was the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for international shipping. Iranian forces sought to obstruct the waterway after coming under a joint U.S.–Israeli attack on Feb. 28, and U.S. forces began blockading Iranian ports along the waterway on April 13.

‘Will never produce nuclear weapons’: Draft of 14-point memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran

The following is a draft text of the memorandum of understanding, which the United States and Iran electronically signed on Sunday to end their war and launch 60 days of talks on Iran’s nuclear program and other outstanding disputes. The draft MOU text was obtained by The Times of Israel and verified by a diplomat from a mediating country and a second source who was given access to the text by an official involved in crafting the document. The same version was published earlier by CNN and Bloomberg. The White House has denied that this version is up to date, but has refused to release what it claims is the authentic text.

1. The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, together with their allies in the current war, declare upon the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding an immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and undertake that from now on they will not launch any hostile action against each other, and will refrain from the threat or use of force against each other. The final agreement will confirm the provisions of this Article and the remaining Articles.
2. The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States undertake to respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs.
3. The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States undertake to negotiate and reach a final agreement within a maximum period of 60 days, extendable by mutual consent.
4. Immediately upon the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, the United States [will] lift the naval blockade and prevent any interference or obstruction against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and restore traffic within a maximum of 30 days to its full capacity; the traffic of ships shall be proportional to the pre-war volume of traffic on the part of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States also undertakes to withdraw its forces from the surrounding areas within 30 days after the final agreement.

1. IDF troops in Lebanon claim change in open-fire rules - Israel Hayom
Commanders and soldiers currently involved in the fighting in Lebanon say the Israel Defense Forces has changed its open-fire rules in recent days, reducing troops' ability to prevent and respond to Hezbollah attacks and leaving soldiers vulnerable. "The open-fire rules right now are only to remove threats," one source said.
The accounts come against the backdrop of the publication of a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US, which also mentions the Lebanese front, as well as criticism by President Donald Trump of Israel's policy in the sector.

2. Aoun insists Lebanon-Israel talks are separate from Iran deal

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stressed on Wednesday that Lebanon's negotiations with Israel are being conducted independently and are not linked to the understanding announced by Tehran and Washington aimed at ending the war in the Middle East.
According to the Lebanese presidency, Aoun said that "the assurances we have received, and what we insist on, is that Lebanon's path in the negotiations is independent." He added that Lebanon supports "a ceasefire and any country that helps us, including Iran."
Aoun said the negotiations are being conducted by the Lebanese state and announced that another round of talks is expected next week. "We hope it will be more positive, especially in light of the great interest shown by the US administration in Lebanon," he said. (Read more)

3. Haredi anti-draft protest blocks highway near Tel Aviv, 8 hurt as police clear road

Haredi protesters blocked traffic Wednesday morning near Bnei Brak during an anti-draft demonstration that became violent, with police using stun grenades and batons to disperse participants.
Later on in the day, thousands of Haredi demonstrators from a different sect gathered outside the IDF’s Beit Lid military prison to protest the arrest of an ultra-Orthodox draft evader being held at the facility.

Israel and Somaliland have been covertly cooperating for many years, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Wednesday.

Israel on Tuesday condemned remarks made by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko likening Israeli actions against Hamas in Gaza to the Holocaust.

2. Cleveland Clinic Ends Gender Care for Minors - Million Voices
The Cleveland Clinic has reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice over its pediatric gender-related care. The deal was announced by the DOJ on Friday.
Under the agreement, Ohio’s well-known Cleveland Clinic will not provide puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or related surgeries to minors for the next 20 years. The settlement covers its six medical centers.
This is the second major health system to reach such a deal with the Trump administration. It comes after a similar settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital. (Read more) |

3. EPA Leaves Data Center Rules to States - Million Voices
The Trump administration will not create nationwide environmental rules or recommendations for data centers. That was the message from EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin on Wednesday.
He spoke at the Politico Energy Summit in Washington. There, he laid out the agency’s stance on the fast-growing data center industry.
Zeldin said states and local communities should make these calls themselves. He argued that people on the ground know their own needs best.
Zeldin made his position clear and direct. He said Washington should not dictate rules to local areas across the country. “Ten times out of 10, I’m not going to sit inside of an agency building in Washington, D.C., and that we say that we know that local community in Georgia or Florida or Arizona or elsewhere better than everyone there locally,” Zeldin said. 4. Travelers Can Pay to Speed Up US Visa Interviews - Million Voices
The State Department is rolling out a new premium visa service that lets some travelers pay extra to get an interview faster. The pilot program starts July 1 and runs through Dec. 31, 2026.
Under the plan, certain applicants can pay an additional $750 to secure expedited visa interviews. That fee comes on top of the standard $185 nonimmigrant visa fee, bringing the total to about $935.
The program applies to people seeking B1/B2 visas. These are visas used for business, tourism, or medical travel to the United States. Applicants who pay the fee can get an interview appointment within 10 business days. Some sources describe the window as within 10 days of payment. The service is designed to help people skip long waits for a B1/B2 visa interview. Wait times can stretch for months, and in some places much longer. (Read more) |

5. Colorado students report same-sex peers were made to kiss during class assignment, teacher fired - CBS News
Denver Public Schools board members voted unanimously May 20 to dismiss a 50-year-old foreign language teacher following a district investigation and an independent review into student complaints about a class assignment.
Honka's classroom instruction first came into question during the 2023-24 school year. She had received the highest possible rating in district assessments the prior three years. But then students approached other teachers and complained about skits in Honka's class in which they were asked to kiss one another.
One student told an NEC chemistry teacher about the skits in April 2024.
"The student was very uncomfortable and did not know what to do," the report stated. "She went ahead and kissed another student at (Honka)'s direction. The student then shared a digital meme with (the chemistry teacher) that included a picture of (Honka) and the caption 'she makes girls kiss.' The meme had circulated among the students. We pray for all the families and the students that had to experience this, that they will not be traumatized and emotionally distressed and that you would bring peace and comfort to their homes, our God. We pray that schools would do a better job when hiring teachers and that teachers would realize their position of power and influence and choose to lead and guide our young people with honor and integrity. 6. California shepherding bill allowing children to ‘divorce’ from their parents - DML News
California is at it again. It is on its way to passing another bill that empowers children to choose their own families.
Assembly Bill 1967 is moving through the California Legislature with barely a ripple of public attention. The bill, authored by LGBTQ rights activist-turned-Assemblymember Rick Zbur, would allow children of any age to initiate state dependency proceedings against their own parents. The parents will not even know this has happened until the die is already cast.

Stupidocrisy: They can't quit the hate

For years Americans have been told that political rhetoric must be toned down, that words matter, and that public figures have a responsibility to lower the temperature of our national debate. Yet many of the loudest voices demanding civility seem unable to follow their own advice. The latest examples continue to pile up. At a recent Turning Point USA Women's Leadership Summit in Texas, Antifa activists violently attempted to disrupt the event, and chanted that conservative commentator Charlie Kirk "deserved to die." When political disagreement becomes personal hatred, society drifts further from meaningful debate and closer to chaos. But the problem extends well beyond fringe activists.
Increasingly, Democratic candidates appear far more comfortable attacking Donald Trump than discussing their solutions for inflation, border security, crime, energy independence, national debt, or foreign policy. According to recent reporting, many candidates can effortlessly deliver sharp criticisms of Trump while struggling to articulate detailed policy proposals of their own. Hawley Calls for Federal Fraud Investigators to Probe Planned Parenthood

With health care fraud schemes at the center of national attention, a pro-life congressman is urging federal authorities to investigate the nation’s largest abortion profiteer for fraud. In a letter dated June 11, Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) asked Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, who has teamed up with Vice President J.D. Vance and the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, to launch an investigation into Planned Parenthood for allegedly administering gender transition drugs to minors and receiving Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements for doing so.
“I appreciate your focus on combatting fraud in our nation’s healthcare programs and ensuring that taxpayer dollars are being used for their lawful, intended purposes,” Hawley wrote, asking Oz to probe Planned Parenthood’s “role in pushing transgender madness onto minor children.”
According to a Government Accountability Office report Hawley cited, Planned Parenthood and its affiliates have received more than $1.5 billion in Medicare and Medicaid payments from 2019 to 2021. “In other words, billions of taxpayer dollars have been taken from those in poverty and the elderly and given to Planned Parenthood,” the senator noted. “Moreover, these funds apparently have been used to prop up Planned Parenthood’s provision of transgender procedures to children,” he added.
“I am concerned that critical healthcare dollars are flowing to an organization that promotes transgender treatments on minors,” the senator wrote. He lamented that Congress has failed to renew a federal ban on Medicaid reimbursements going to Planned Parenthood, effectively providing the abortion giant with fungible taxpayer dollars despite federal provisions barring taxpayer dollars from funding abortions or gender transition procedures for minors.
“In the absence of congressional action, you have an opportunity to expand your fraud investigation by probing Planned Parenthood’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations,” Hawley wrote, suggesting that Planned Parenthood may be violating federal regulations to obtain Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements. “The organization’s transgender activities appear at the least to subvert Congress’s intent to direct Medicaid and Medicare funds to basic healthcare needs.”
Hawley concluded his letter, “I therefore urge you to act to ensure Planned Parenthood cannot defraud our nation’s healthcare programs. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.” (Washington Stand) Read more here.

Lord, we thank you that in recent weeks the US Department of Justice has announced two significant settlements with the Cleveland Clinic and the Texas Children's Hospital for conducting gender transition procedures on minors and fraudulently obtained Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements for those procedures.
As VP JD Vance and Dr Oz thoroughly continue to investigate Medicare and Medicaid Fraud, we pray for wisdom and clear direction for them and we pray, Lord, that the money that has been fraudulently taken will now be given back to the senior adults for their healthcare needs. We also pray, Father, that the babies who have shed their innocent blood through programs conducted by Planned Parenthood would get justice. Lord, let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

As the New World screwworm returns to American soil for the first time since its eradication 60 years ago, Texas is now on the front line of Mexico's threat to U.S. sovereignty and national security.
The return of New World screwworm to the United States began with the collapse of the biological containment barrier in Central America that broke in 2021 when millions of illegal aliens were moved through the Darién Gap, overwhelming border controls and expanding the cartel-controlled smuggling corridors that later carried infested livestock northward. By the time Mexican authorities confirmed the first cases in November 2024, the parasite had already spread across Central America and deep into southern Mexico. Mexican officials’ complicity in cartel control over these routes turned mass migration into a gray-zone weapon that expanded smuggling infrastructure and increased pressure on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Mexican cartels function as de facto proxies for elements of the Mexican state in this gray-zone campaign. They move an estimated 800,000 cattle per year from Central America into Mexico through these same poorly governed corridors, using fake ear tags and falsified veterinary records to bypass government checkpoints, sanitary inspections, and taxes. The illicit trade is worth roughly $320 million annually. Once inside Mexico, the animals are laundered into the legal system, where they can enter feedlots or reach federally inspected Tipo Inspección Federal (TIF) slaughter plants used for domestic processing and exports. As of June 3, the New World screwworm has caused more than 171,700 cumulative animal cases and more than 2,070 human cases across Mexico and Central. Many infestations go undetected or unreported, so official figures likely understate the outbreak’s true scale.
Presidential Policy Directive 21 defines critical infrastructure, which includes food and agriculture, as "systems and assets, whether physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that the incapacity or destruction of such systems and assets would have a debilitating impact on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination of those matters." The USDA warns that "this vital sector is a known target for terrorists and malicious actors." Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins has rightfully declared: "Food security is national security. If America cannot feed itself, it cannot fully defend itself — and that reality puts at risk the freedom and security that generations of Americans have fought and died to preserve over the last 250 years." Thank You, Lord, that Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, has declared that Food security is national security. If an American citizen cannot feed himself, we cannot fully defend ourselves, putting us all at risk.

US ambassador Mike Huckabee defies Trump, says 'without Israel, there would be no America'

WASHINGTON, DC: US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said on Tuesday, June 16, that the United States would not exist without Israel, arguing that America’s foundations are rooted in Jewish history and heritage.
Speaking at an Israeli heritage conference, Huckabee argued that America’s foundations are rooted in Jewish history and heritage. The remarks came shortly after President Donald Trump publicly emphasized the extent of American support for Israel and suggested the country’s security depended heavily on US backing.
Huckabee links America’s origins to Israel
The ambassador said part of his role was to represent the importance of Israel to the United States and to emphasize the historical connections between the two countries.
Speaking at the G7 summit just hours before Huckabee's statement, Trump argued that American support had been essential to Israel’s survival.
“Without the US, there would be no Israel. Without me, there would be no Israel because no other President was willing to do what I did,” Trump said during remarks alongside Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Remarks draw political reaction amid Iran deal debate
Huckabee’s remarks also followed a period of public disagreement between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the administration’s newly announced agreement with Iran.
Speaking to The New York Times after the agreement was unveiled, Trump criticized Netanyahu, describing him as “a very difficult guy” and saying Israel should be grateful for Washington’s diplomatic efforts.

Lost biblical town where Jesus performed miracles 'found' by archaeologists

Archaeologists digging along the shores of the Sea of Galilee believe they may have unearthed the long-lost biblical settlement of Bethsaida, a village closely linked in the New Testament to several of Jesus' reported miracles.
The fishing community on the northeastern shore of the Sea of Galilee served as a pivotal location for Jesus' ministry, providing the backdrop for numerous miracles and healings, including the restoration of sight to a blind man.
According to the New Testament, the site is identified as the birthplace of apostles Peter, Andrew, and Philip.
After years of extensive fieldwork, archaeologists have reported a series of findings that appear to connect the site to the biblical town.
These include the remains of a Byzantine-era church, fragments of a first-century dwelling beneath its foundations, Roman-period fishing equipment, and a mosaic inscription referencing Saint Peter as a prominent figure among the apostles, reports the Express.
Steven Notley, Academic Director of the El Araj Excavation Project, said the evidence has become increasingly compelling, arguing that the discoveries collectively identify El-Araj as Bethsaida - a location that has long been a subject of debate among scholars.
During a lecture at the Catholic Information Center in Washington DC on May 5, he outlined years of research at El-Araj - a project that began in 2016 - which has now "essentially confirmed" the site's identification as Bethsaida, the lakeside town referenced multiple times throughout the New Testament.
