Pro-Life Victory: Vermont Rolls Back Law that Targets Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers
|

|
Faith-based pregnancy care centers in Vermont have successfully challenged officials over a law they say restricted their free speech and their services to women. As a result, state lawmakers have walked back on a measure and will no longer openly discriminate against the centers over their life-affirming service to their communities. As CBN News reported, the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA), Aspire Now, and Branches Pregnancy Resource Center sued state officials in July 2023. They argued the state unconstitutionally restricted their speech and provision of services with a bill that was signed into law by Gov. Phil Scott.
According to Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a conservative non-profit legal group, the law only applied to pro-life pregnancy centers. It censored their ability to advertise services and to counsel women against abortion. "It specifically targeted pro-life pregnancy centers as 'limited services' providers because they do not refer for or perform abortions. Under the law, pregnancy centers could be fined up to $10,000 for advertising their services in a way that Vermont's pro-abortion attorney general believes is misleading," the group explained. "An abortion facility that provides identical information would not be subject to the law." US government taking ‘dramatically different approach’ using terrorism charges against drug cartels: FBI alum
|

|
A former FBI assistant director says the federal government is taking a "dramatically different approach" to how it approaches drug trafficking after several Sinaloa cartel leaders were slapped with terror-related charges.
Both Pedro Inzunza Noriega and his son, Pedro Inzunza Coronel, were charged with narco-terrorism, material support of terrorism, drug trafficking and money laundering on May 13 as members of the Beltran Leyva Organization (BLO), a faction of the Sinaloa cartel. Five additional BLO leaders were charged with drug trafficking and money laundering.
It's the first time that cartel members have been hit with terrorism-related charges, which Chris Swecker, former assistant director of the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division, told Fox News Digital is intended to send a message.
"This administration is taking a dramatically different approach to fighting drug cartels, who are the most powerful criminal organizations on the planet right now," Swecker said. "It is perfect for narco-traffickers because if you can go after anyone who supports these trafficking cartels and leaders and members in any way, if they give them a paperclip, if they provide financial support, if they work for them, they're a hit man."
"It also gives us some extra territorial punch, if you will. It gives us the ability, if we want to, to dip into foreign countries," he said.
Swecker, who has run numerous investigations involving drug cartels, said the Trump administration's decision to use terrorism charges expands the number of people who can be charged, and increases the potential penalties.
"This is a serious approach by treating them as terrorists. It increases the penalties that they're exposed to. It ups the ante when it comes to extradition," Swecker said. "It ups the ante when it comes to the seriousness of the charges. They can use RICO, they can use continuing criminal enterprise, they can use now material support to terrorist organizations, so now, all you have to do is be affiliated in any way with a drug cartel, and we can lower a 20-year sentence on you."

Trump’s mega-bill faces rocky ride in Senate

US senators have begun weeks of what is certain to be fierce debate over the mammoth policy package President Donald Trump hopes will seal his legacy, headlined by tax cuts slated to add up to $3 trillion to the nation’s debt.
The Republican leader celebrated when the House passed his “big, beautiful bill,” which partially covers an extension of his 2017 tax relief through budget cuts projected to strip health care from millions of low-income Americans.
The Senate now gets to make its own changes, and the upper chamber’s version could make or break Republicans’ 2026 midterm election prospects — and define Trump’s second term.
But the 1,116-page blueprint faces an uphill climb, with moderate Republicans balking at $1.5 trillion in spending cuts while fiscal hawks are blasting the bill as a ticking debt bomb.
“We have enough (holdouts) to stop the process until the president gets serious about spending reduction and reducing the deficit,” Senator Ron Johnson, one of half a dozen Republican opponents to the bill, told CNN.
Democrats — whose support is not required if Republicans can maintain a united front — have focused on the tax cuts mostly benefiting the rich on the backs of a working class already struggling with high prices. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Israeli PM Blames ‘Blood Libels’ Against Jewish State for ‘Vicious’ Boulder Attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced Sunday’s firebomb attack on a pro-Israel event in Boulder, Colorado, calling it a “vicious terror attack” and warning that rising global antisemitism is fueled by “blood libels against the Jewish state and people.”
On Monday, Netanyahu issued a series of statements on X responding to the attack that left several victims injured and burned during a peaceful walk supporting Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
“My wife and I and the entire State of Israel pray for the full recovery of the wounded in the vicious terror attack that took place in Boulder, Colorado,” he wrote. “This attack was aimed against peaceful people who wished to express their solidarity with the hostages held by Hamas, simply because they were Jews.”
The Israeli leader then expressed his faith in American law enforcement to take decisive action.
“I trust the American authorities will prosecute the cold-blooded perpetrator to the fullest extent of the law and will do everything possible to prevent future attacks against innocent civilians,” he stated.
Netanyahu concluded by charging that antisemitic attacks worldwide “are a direct result of blood libels against the Jewish state and people,” which he insisted “must be stopped.”

Youngkin sets date for special election to
fill deep-blue House seat

Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia on Tuesday set the date for a special election to fill a vacant heavily-blue congressional seat in the commonwealth.
Virginians in the state's 11th Congressional District will vote on Sept. 9 in a special election to fill the seat held by the late Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly, who died on May 21 after battling esophageal cancer.
Connolly, a longtime House member, announced in late April that he wouldn't seek re-election in 2026 in the Democrat-dominated Northern Virginia district in suburban Washington, D.C
Six Democrats and two Republican candidates have already jumped into the race to fill Connolly's seat.
The Republicans will be defending their razor-thin House majority in next year's midterm elections. The GOP currently controls the chamber 220-212, with three heavily blue districts vacant.
The special election in Virginia will be the third to be held so far this year to fill vacant seats, with two more to follow.
The first two special elections, both in Florida congressional districts, replaced Republicans who resigned their terms, Matt Gaetz and Mike Waltz.
Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs of Arizona set Sept. 23 as the date for a special election to fill the seat left vacant after the death in March of Rep. Raúl Grijalva, a fellow Democrat. (Fox News) Read more here.

Family of Boulder firebombing suspect taken into federal custody: sources
|

The family of the Boulder, Colorado firebombing suspect is in federal custody and their visas have been revoked, sources confirm to Fox News.
According to senior sources within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the wife and five children of 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman were taken into custody.
A senior State Department official confirmed to Fox News that all visas for the Soliman family have been revoked. In a statement provided by the senior official, the department emphasized its commitment to national security, saying, "The Secretary did exactly what he said he would — support the administration’s objective of getting terrorists and their family members out of America."
The family is being processed for expedited removal, sources said.
In a statement on X on Tuesday afternoon, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said that they are investigating his family to identify "to what extent" they knew about the attack.
"Mohamed's despicable actions will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, but we're also investigating to what extent his family knew about this horrific attack," DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said in an X video post on Tuesday afternoon. "If they had any knowledge of it or if they provided any support to it."
Victims and witnesses observed Soliman throw what appeared to be a glass bottle, which burst upon impact, creating large flames, towards a crowd of peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators in Boulder on Sunday, June 1, authorities said.
Twelve individuals were injured in the attack. None of the victims have died.
Now facing a litany of charges – including multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and possession of incendiary devices – Soliman is being held on a $10 million bond.
Judicial District Attorney Michael Dougherty outlined the severe potential penalties facing Soliman if convicted on all charges related to the June 1 attack. He faces 16 counts of attempted first-degree murder – eight for attempted murder with intent and deliberation, and eight for attempted murder with extreme indifference.
If convicted and the sentences are ordered to run consecutively, he could face a maximum of 384 years in state prison for those charges alone. In addition, Soliman is charged with two counts of use of an incendiary device, which could add up to 48 years if served consecutively.
He also faces 16 counts of attempted use of an incendiary device, carrying a potential additional 192 years. In total, the maximum possible sentence could reach 624 years if all convictions are handed down and run consecutively.
Along with charges on the state level, he has also been federally charged with a hate crime involving actual or perceived race, religion or national origin.
His next court appearance, for filing charges, will be Thursday, June 5 at 3:30 p.m. MT. (Fox News) Read more here.

1. IDF downs Houthi missile from Yemen - JNS
The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday night intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen by Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists, the military confirmed.
The attack triggered air-raid sirens across central Israel, including in Tel Aviv, as well as several southern communities. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The development comes after the Houthis claimed to have targeted Ben-Gurion Airport with another missile on Monday night. That attack activated air-raid sirens across central Israel and the Jerusalem area. Israeli air defenses also downed the projectile. (Read more)

2. Israel blames Syrian president for missiles fired at towns in Golan Heights

On Tuesday night, two missiles were fired at Israel from Syria.
The source of the missiles was the Tasil area, located around 12 kilometers from the Israeli border, past the buffer zone.
The missile was aimed at the Golan Heights and fell into an open field with no injuries.
Alarms were heard in Hispin in the Golan Heights, Nof Hagalil, Kfar Tavor, and Nazareth.
It is unclear which group in Syria was behind the missile attack.
At around the same time, the Houthis fired a missile at Israel from Yemen. The IDF is investigating whether the launches were coordinated. (Read more)

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the public to attend a right-wing protest scheduled for Thursday in front of the Supreme Court in Jerusalem. The demonstration aims to oppose what he describes as the "rule of bureaucrats."
"There's a protest on Thursday against the rule of bureaucrats who decide—this won't be the head of the Shin Bet, this won't be the Civil Service Commissioner. Who are you? Were you elected to lead the government? We are the government; we will decide for you," Netanyahu stated.

4. Police, Shin Bet Thwart Suspected Iranian Attempt Perpetrate Terror Attack

i24 News – The Shin Bet security agency and Israel Police thwarted another Iranian attempt to recruit Israelis, according to a statement on Tuesday, arresting a resident of East Jerusalem for allegedly carrying out missions for the Islamic Republic.
Iranian agents recruited the suspect, who in turn recruited members of his family. He is a resident of the Isawiya neighborhood in his 30s, and is accused of maintaining contact with a hostile foreign entity to harm the state by carrying out a terrorist attack against Jews.
The suspect had already begun perpetrating acts of sabotage and espionage, including collecting intelligence about areas in Jerusalem, including the Western Wall and Mahane Yehuda Market. He also hung signs, burned Israeli army uniforms, and more in exchange for payment totaling thousands of shekels. (Read more)

5. Cohanim Perform Bread Loaves Offering at Temple Site on Shavuot

In a historic event, on Monday, two Cohanim in priestly garments brought the Shavuot “two loaves” offering to the Temple Mount, Srugim reported. They hurried to the presumed site of the ancient altar and raised the loaves before being stopped by police and Waqf officials.
This marks the first time a sacrifice has been performed at the Temple site since its destruction. According to sources in the Temple Mount movement, “the offering of the two loaves was conducted at the traditional location, lifted according to halachic custom by a Cohen wearing priestly garments. The entire ceremony was carried out under the supervision and halachic direction of Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, head of the Temple Yeshiva and president of the Temple Institute.”
The two loaves of bread are a public offering on the Feast of Shavuot in the Temple by the Cohanim. The offering is a special commandment for Shavuot, and expresses its being the harvest festival and the Day of First fruits. The two loaves of bread were the first sacrifice brought from the newly harvested wheat and thus were considered the first fruits of the wheat harvest. (Read more)

The ordeal is the latest example of the Post's anti-Israel bias, which has drawn attention in Washington, D.C., and come under fire for factual inaccuracy. In the wake of Oct. 7, the Post, which filled its foreign desk with Al Jazeera veterans, has faced accusations that its coverage of the conflict is more anti-Israel activism than dispassionate reporting. A report last year on an Israeli hostage rescue mission in a Palestinian refugee camp, for example, was headlined, "More than 200 Palestinians killed in Israeli hostage raid in Gaza." A three-paragraph editors note, meanwhile, is now appended to a report on Israel's alleged mistreatment of the mothers of premature infants.
Though the Post’s original aid site shooting report was based on allegations from the Gaza Health Ministry, video evidence appeared to contradict the Hamas-run agency’s claims. The IDF issued an initial statement denying the reports, and the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation—an Israel- and U.S.-backed organization managing aid distribution—released security footage of the Rafah aid site at the time of the alleged killings. Rather than the violence described in the Post report, the security footage shows Gazans waiting in line to collect humanitarian aid. The video does not show any shooting.
The IDF noted that its troops had fired warning shots to ward off potential thieves about one kilometer away from the Rafah location several hours before aid distribution began. It also released drone footage of a different distribution site—one in Khan Younis—that showed masked gunmen shooting into a crowd of Gazans receiving humanitarian aid. (Read more)

6. Oregon girl alleges track meet official ordered her to 'get out of the photo' after protesting trans athlete - Fox News
Oregon high school senior Alexa Anderson garnered national attention on Saturday when she refused to share the high jump medal podium with a trans athlete at a state track and field championship meet.
Viral footage of Anderson and fellow girl athlete Reese Eckard stepping down from the podium also showed an official gesturing for them to step to the side.
Anderson alleges the official ordered her and Eckard to get out of the shot of photos if they were not going to stand on the podium.
"We stepped off the podium in protest and, as you can see, the official kind of told us 'hey, go over there, if you’re not going to participate, get out of the photos,'" Anderson alleged during an interview on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" Monday night. (Read more)

Groupthink and the War on Trump

President Donald Trump started his second term with considerable momentum of public support. His approval rating in an early February CBS/YouGov poll reached as high as 53%. Americans described him as “tough,” “focused,” and “delivering on promises.” But by Day 100, that goodwill had evaporated. His approval plunged to between 39% and 42% across multiple polls. Some outlets even claimed it was a “record low.” Trump, however, was delivering on his promises—fast-tracking executive action, pushing for trade reform, confronting immigration issues, and holding federal agencies accountable. All the while, the media was back to its groupthink and outright war against Trump on all fronts.
Mainstream media outlets have been hammering Trump since Day One. A Harvard University study from his first term found that CNN’s coverage was 93% negative—almost indistinguishable from NBC (93%) and CBS (91%). That trend has continued. From border security to tariffs, Trump can’t make a move without the media lighting up like a five-alarm fire. Even neutral actions are twisted into existential threats to democracy. This relentless negativity has consequences. Public perception is not formed in a vacuum. Pew Research found that stories from left-leaning outlets during Trump’s presidency carried overwhelmingly negative assessments—only 5% positive in his first 60 days. Those who consume that coverage are far more likely to disapprove of Trump, regardless of policy merit. Read More

‘Buyer’s Remorse’: Support for Same-Sex Agenda Craters among Republicans

A new poll is showing that support for same-sex marriage has dropped to a 10-year low among Republicans but spiked to a record high among Democrats. According to Gallup, 68% of Americans overall support same-sex marriage, barely down from 69% last year. However, that “steady” level of support — approval for same-sex marriage has hovered between 67% and 71% over the past five years and has not fallen below 50% since 2011 — belies a stark and rapidly-growing political division.
Joseph Backholm, senior fellow for Biblical Worldview at Family Research Council, told TWS that he expects general support for same-sex marriage and relationships to continue plummeting among Republicans and even to decline among the general population. “People are starting to see the big picture. Every day, Americans are coming to terms with the broken promises of the Sexual Revolution,” Backholm said.
He went on, “We were told same-sex marriage was necessary because personal happiness is the greatest good and the only way for people who identify as gay to be happy is to be able to marry whomever they want. That was never true. We were also told there would be no negative impact, only the social good of same-sex couples being removed from second-class citizenship status. But now, drag queens are performing in front of six-year-olds while adults cheer, boys are standing atop the podium at girls’ track and field events all over the country, and children are having their genitals cut off in a different but related effort to achieve happiness outside the created order.”
Backholm also noted that “the sexual revolutionaries did not offer the tolerance they demanded” and often “responded with speech codes and tried to ruin the lives and businesses of anyone” who dared to oppose or question their rapidly ascendant agenda. “So essentially,” Backholm concluded, “the Sexual Revolution has broken every term of the contract that the revolutionaries made with the public. We’re just beginning to realize the consequences, but every day, people are starting to connect the dots and have buyer’s remorse. It will only continue.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.
- The Bible identifies engaging in homosexual sex as sin in multiple passages, so the views cited in this article certainly reflect mainline Christian teaching. The very first chapter of the Bible, in Genesis, records, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” And it adds regarding marriage in chapter 2, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
As believers in Christ Jesus, we adhere to these Scriptural mandates and support any activities that align with these teachings. Given the facts cited above, we are greatly encouraged to see that the American people are beginning to also adhere to these truths. Thank You, Lord, for the Washington Stand. The statement came shortly after Israeli news outlet Walla, citing two sources familiar with the deal, reported on Monday that Washington was open to permitting Iran limited, low-level uranium enrichment for an unspecified duration.
