How a small-town Arkansas man got God on America's money

The children of the late Arkansas man whose grassroots effort led to "In God We Trust" adorning U.S. paper currency told The Christian Post that their father's providential story shows "one person, with the Lord's help, can make a difference."
Matthew Rothert Sr., a Presbyterian furniture manufacturer and avid coin collector born in 1904, was at church in Chicago on June 21, 1953, when he believed the Holy Spirit impressed upon him the idea that "In God We Trust" should feature on American banknotes as it did on coins, according to his daughter, Alice Rothert Nelson.
"The collection plate was going around, and he felt God tell him that the coins had 'In God We Trust,' but it was the bills that went all around the world," she told CP. Lord, we celebrate the history of "In God We Trust" on currency, originally engraved on coins during the time of the Civil War, then eventually printed on paper bills in 1956, due to the actions of one believer who was obedient to the Holy Spirit's call! We praise You for placing individuals in strategic positions, alongside Matthew Rothert's path, which opened doors for this move of God. We are grateful for the daily reminder displayed on our U.S. paper currency, being exchanged in the marketplace and across the nations, making an impact globally. We shout from the roof-tops, "In God We Trust!", and proclaim Jehovah Jireh as the world's only God of Provision! In the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, we pray- Amen and Amen.

Supreme Court allows Alabama GOP-backed congressional map for midterms
|

The ruling clears the way for the state's Aug. 11 special primary under the 2023 legislature-adopted map

The Supreme Court on Tuesday gave Alabama Republicans a victory, issuing an emergency order that the state can use a congressional map likely to benefit the GOP in November’s midterm elections.
The justices granted Alabama’s emergency appeal to use a map adopted by the state legislature in 2023 that includes a single majority-Black district for this election cycle. The court’s three liberal justices dissented.
Alabama Republicans had sought to revive the previously blocked map, which is expected to give the GOP an opportunity to gain an additional congressional seat by replacing a court-drawn south Alabama district that helped elect a Black Democrat with a map that contains only one majority-Black district.
The ruling came after the Supreme Court last month vacated a lower court ruling blocking Alabama's 2023 congressional map and sent the case back for further review. Last week, however, a three-judge federal panel again blocked the GOP-backed map and ordered Alabama to continue using a court-drawn map containing two districts in which Black voters are a majority or have an opportunity to elect their preferred candidates.
Republican Gov. Kay Ivey celebrated the ruling Tuesday evening and confirmed that Alabama’s Aug. 11 special primary election would be conducted under the 2023 map.
"The U.S. Supreme Court confirmed what I have said all along and that is that Alabama knows our state, our people and our districts best," Ivey said in a statement.
"Today’s decision is a win for the people of Alabama and our elections," she continued. "Alabama is doing our part to keep America strong, and I am proud our state continues to fight the fight to ensure activists do not get the final say."

The SCOTUS ruling on new parameters for state redistricting maps is allowing states like Alabama to redraw their district maps for the midterm elections. We ask for Your perfect will to be done in each state that is redrawing their maps, that justice will be done because that is Your heart for every state and every voter. Exclusive — Doug Burgum: Trump’s Restorations of Fountains, Monuments, and Parks Show Squalor Is a ‘Choice’

The Trump administration’s restorations of fountains, monuments, and parks in D.C. show squalor was a choice, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily.
“Credit goes to President Trump and his leadership,” Burgum said, discussing the improvements President Trump has made to D.C. ahead of the nation’s semiquincentennial. The nation’s capital is one of the “bluest of blue big metros in the country,” he said, noting that registered Republicans for the area clock in around five percent.
“In a city where — across the whole city — all these pocket parks, circle parks, triangle parks, city parks are all run by the National Park Service. So, President Trump just said we don’t have to accept squalor and homelessness. We don’t have to accept rundown graffiti-laden sites, and so under President Trump’s leadership, you know, we’ve removed 152 homeless camps,” he said, adding that the establishment media has ignored the fact that these homeless individuals have been taken care of and provided services as well.
“You can come every day. It’s public space. You just can’t live here, and we’re going to help you find someplace else to live, so that’s, you know, taken care of without controversy, without news, and then getting in and cleaning up some of these places, restoring fountains that haven’t worked for decades,” he said, adding that President Trump said he received more “love letters” about the fountains being restored than anything he’s ever done as president.
“Because residents of D.C., from whatever party, whatever political affiliation, they understand that beauty is a choice. This is a beautiful city with beautiful monuments, and heading into our 250th anniversary, President Trump cares deeply,” Burgum said.
“He understands about pride in our country, and what that means, and we talk about the reflecting pool between Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial. It reflects more than just the images of those two incredible memorials. It’s reflecting on the history of our country. It reflects on us as a country,” he said, explaining that they want people to come to the capital and see the beauty of America — not a dump.
“When we rededicated the Columbus fountain last week in front of Union Square, 16 months ago [it] was a homeless camp with protests,” Burgum said.
The fountain itself was covered in pro-Hamas graffiti, he noted, reminding listeners that those images were not AI.
“The complete 180 degree turnaround is being received by every resident of D.C., and President Trump showing it’s a model for every one of our big blue metros in the country, you know, including LA. It’s just a choice,” the Interior Secretary said. “Just go get it done.” (Breitbart) Read more here

Trump Administration Blocked from Removing over 20 Transgender Troops
|

|
The Trump administration was blocked by a federal appeals court from banning almost 30 transgender-identifying individuals from being able to serve in the United States military.
In a 2-1 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit found that 28 transgender individuals — who had filed a lawsuit when the Trump administration barred transgender individuals from serving in the military — are allowed to “continue serving while the case proceeds,” the New York Times reported.
While the court’s ruling “applies only to 28 plaintiffs,” the plaintiffs have called for the court “to extend the protection to all transgender troops,” according to the outlet.
“In the beginning days of his second term in office, President Trump issued an Executive Order proclaiming that persons ‘expressing a false “gender identity” divergent from an individual’s sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service,'” Judge Robert L. Wilkins wrote in the majority opinion. “Exec. Order No. 14183, 90 Fed. Reg. 8757 § 1 (Jan. 27, 2025). The President, and later Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth (now redesignated as Secretary of War), also declared that persons affiliated with gender dysphoria are unfit for military service, because among other things, the character of such persons (in the President’s and Secretary’s words) is ‘inconsistent’ with the ‘high standards . . . [of] honesty, humility, . . . and integrity.'”
“In this litigation, the government has not attempted to defend or provide any factual basis for these disparaging characterizations of American citizens,” Wilkins continued. “Indeed, the government has not contested that the Plaintiff-Appellees who are currently serving (and who have collectively earned more than 80 recommendations) have served honorably and pose no threat to national security, even though they happen to be transgender and have suffered from gender dysphoria.”
The decision from the court comes after President Donald Trump issued an executive order in January 2025, stating that “expressing a false ‘gender identity’ divergent from an individual’s sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

White House Correspondents’ Dinner Rescheduled After Assassination Attempt
|

|
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner has been rescheduled after the actions of a potential assassin abruptly ended the first event.
In a letter to WHCA members, Weijia Jiang, president of the organization and a CBS News reporter, said the event will proceed, noting that it is particularly important given that America is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year.
“We will not allow an act of violence to have the last word, especially during a year when we are reflecting on the 250th anniversary of America and everything we stand for,” Jiang wrote, explaining that “rescheduling was not automatic.”
“It was a choice that the WHCA board made after thoughtful consideration and input from our members,” she said.
The association said it will have “significantly enhanced safety measures and new access procedures” ahead of the event, which has officially been rescheduled for July 24.
It remains unclear if President Trump will attend the event, although he very clearly called for the event to be rescheduled after the incident and initially expressed a willingness for the show to go on after the would-be shooter was apprehended.

1. Following US-mediated talks: Israel and Lebanon agree to ceasefire, Hezbollah evacuation - Israel National News
A trilateral summit convened by the United States in Washington has resulted in a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, following intensive two-day negotiations on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A joint statement issued following the second day of talks on Wednesday stated that the accord dictates that the implementation of the truce is directly "contingent on a complete cessation of Hezbollah fire and the evacuation of all Hezbollah operatives from the South Litani Sector".
To enforce the peace, Israel and Lebanon agreed to "swiftly advance the creation of pilot zones in which the Lebanese Armed Forces will take exclusive control of the territory to the exclusion of all non-state actors". These stabilization steps are designed to lay the groundwork for "progress towards a comprehensive peace and security agreement".

2. Netanyahu downplays row with Trump, says he and US leader agree on the ‘main things’ - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed in an interview Wednesday that he held a difficult conversation with US President Donald Trump days earlier, but downplayed the significance of the matter and insisted that he and the American leader agree on “the main things.”
The interview, which was conducted live by CNBC, came hours after Trump himself confirmed reports that he called Netanyahu “fucking crazy” during the Monday phone call, saying he was “perturbed” by the premier’s escalation in fighting in Lebanon.
“I’m not going to get into details of our conversations,” Netanyahu told CNBC.
“We’ve had thousands, well, a lot of them,” he said. “And if you think this is a crisis, you should be in some other conversations. But we’ve always found a way.” (Read more)

3. IDF strike reported near Beirut, sirens blare in north after peace talks in DC

Lebanese media reported on Wednesday that an Israeli strike hit a car on a highway just south of the capital, Beirut, as the Hezbollah terror group continued its attacks on Israeli troops and civilians despite a nominal ceasefire.
An apparent Hezbollah drone and two rockets fired by the terror group at northern Israel’s Galilee Panhandle on Wednesday were intercepted by air defenses, the Israel Defense Forces said.
Israeli leaders have threatened that the IDF would target Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold, if the Iran-backed terror group targets Israeli communities.

4. Solution to Hezbollah drone threat imminent, Netanyahu signals - JNS
After the Israeli government approved a 13 billion-shekel ($4.5 billion) plan to strengthen communities in northern Israel late on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that a solution to the threat posed by Hezbollah’s explosive drones will be implemented in the near future.
Following a special Cabinet meeting, Netanyahu hinted at a breakthrough in efforts to counter the Lebanese terrorist group’s drone attacks, which have emerged as one of the most persistent threats along the northern border.
“We will also solve the drone problem—the best minds in the people of Israel, in the State of Israel, and also outside the State of Israel, are currently mobilized for this national project,” he said. “We will solve this problem. 5. Netanyahu slams violent ultra-Orthodox riot at Supreme Court Justice Sohlberg’s home - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the ultra-Orthodox riots that took place outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Noam Sohlberg on Wednesday night in opposition to his order to increase arrests of draft evaders.
“I strongly condemn the violent riot against Justice Noam Sohlberg. Law enforcement must apply the full force of the law against the rioters,” he stated. The Prime Minister's Office said that Netanyahu called Sohlberg to inquire about his well-being and inquire whether or not he would press charges against the trespassers.
Extremist protesters caused significant property damage by smashing windows, damaging his car, and attempting to break into Sohlberg's house before attempting to flee the scene. (Read more)

Trump said the murder rate last year fell to the lowest level in 125 years. He also touted that fentanyl being smuggled into America has been reduced by 60%.

3. Tech CEO arrested for allegedly supplying equipment for Iran’s nuclear and military programs - DML News
A California tech company CEO was arrested for allegedly supplying U.S. equipment to Iran’s nuclear and military establishment.
Jamshid Ghomi, 63, a dual Iranian and U.S. citizen residing in Newport Coast, Calif., is charged with conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), the U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
Ghomi allegedly procured “sophisticated U.S.-origin networking, security, and encryption equipment for Iranian customers — including the Iranian regime’s nuclear and military establishment,” according to a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) press release. (Read more) |

4. Minnesota COVID Fraud Scheme Ends with 41-Year Sentence - Million Voices
A massive pandemic relief fraud scheme has ended with a 41-year prison sentence. Aimee Bock, the former leader of a Minnesota nonprofit, orchestrated the theft of millions. This money was meant to feed hungry children during a global crisis.
The U.S. Justice Department has labeled this the largest COVID-19 fraud scheme. A federal judge sentenced Bock for her role in the $250 million operation. Her organization, Feeding Our Future, exploited emergency rules to steal taxpayer funds.
During the pandemic, the federal government relaxed oversight to get aid to people quickly. Bock and her network used these relaxed rules to bypass normal inspections. Instead of helping those in need, they created opportunities for large-scale theft. (Read more) |

6. Breaking: House Passes Iran War Powers Resolution After 4 Republicans Side with Democrats - Western Journal
Four House Republicans sided with Democrats in a vote to halt military operations in the Middle East without further congressional approval.
The vote for the resolution was 215 in favor and 208 against.
The vote was described on the House website as “Directing the President, pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution, to remove United States Armed Forces from hostilities with Iran.”
Not surprisingly, Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky was one of the four Republicans to join with Democrats, along with Reps. Tom Barrett of Michigan, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, and Warren Davidson of Ohio.
Politico reported that the vote is “largely symbolic, as [President Donald] Trump would almost certainly veto any legislation that restricts his authority. But the politically damaging vote underscores dissent within his own party and could be a catalyst as the Senate considers similar legislation that advanced in a surprise initial vote last month.”
The vote comes as Trump is engaged in negotiations to end the war with Iran in a way that prevents the regime from developing nuclear weapons.
Politico noted, “Republicans and Democrats have already teamed up to oppose other aspects of Trump’s foreign policy. The House will consider fresh sanctions on Russia this week as well as aid for Ukraine, a package that came to the floor after a bipartisan coalition forced a vote through a discharge petition.”
“Defense policy legislation set for a vote in the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday also renews limits on withdrawing troops from Europe amid GOP hawks’ frustration that the administration is shuffling troops on the continent,” the outlet added. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: When Principles Meet the Roll Call

In modern politics, words are cheap, branding is expensive, and hypocrisy often rules. Few issues expose that faster than women’s sports. For years, public officials across the ideological spectrum have proclaimed unwavering support for women’s rights, women’s equality, and women’s opportunity. Those are worthy principles. Then comes the roll call vote. The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act separated where rhetoric met recorded action. In January, the House passed the measure 218-206, with nearly every vote falling along predictable lines. In March, the Senate blocked it from advancing, same story. What people say and what they do gives so much credence to You will know them by their deed.
Every House Republican present voted in favor, joined by two Democrats, In the Senate, every Republican voting supported moving the bill forward. Every Democrat voting opposed it, joined by both independents who caucus with Democrats. The final Senate tally was 51-45, nine votes short of the 60 needed. Strip away cable news talking points and the public relations spin, and the question becomes straightforward: what constitutes support for women’s rights in athletics? If one believes biological distinctions matter in competitive sports, then opposing such legislation appears contradictory. If one believes inclusion takes precedence over biological classifications, then the vote aligns with that principle. The honest debate lies there, not in slogans crafted for campaign mailers. President Donald Trump’s Department of Education on Monday announced that it is, for the second time, recognizing June as “Title IX Month” rather than “Pride Month.”
The Department of Education said recognizing June as “Title IX Month” honors the 54th anniversary of the Educational Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), which was signed into law on June 23, 1972, and “commemorates women’s struggle for, and achievement of, equal educational opportunity and, throughout the month.”
The department added that it plans to highlight the Trump administration’s progress in restoring Title IX’s sex-based protections after the Biden administration took a wrecking ball to women’s rights for four years. Title IX bans sex discrimination as a condition of receiving federal funding.
“Throughout the month of June, we’re spotlighting the critical civil rights protections that women fought for decades to secure and the Trump Administration’s vigorous commitment to protecting Title IX’s promise for current and future generations of women and girls,” Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Kimberly Richey said in a statement.
The Department of Education said in its announcement that its Office for Civil Rights (OCR) opened another Title IX investigation into Cabarrus County Schools in North Carolina over allegations the district allows males in female-only intimate spaces.
According to the department, several female students have alleged they were required to undress in front of males and that the district has either mocked or dismissed their concerns.
“One student recounted that her former principal said that ‘there isn’t anything [the District] can do’ to protect female students and that girls ‘can go somewhere else’ if they feel uncomfortable,” according to the department.
Richey said the investigation “demonstrates that the Trump Administration will not stop pursuing Districts that reportedly subject our women and girls to egregious violations of their privacy and safety.”
“Under the Trump Administration, no woman or girl will have to fight alone to secure her basic protections, and we will not relent until Title IX is restored to the fullest extent of the law,” she continued. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Lord, we thank You once again for allowing this to happen in America so that we can restore women's sex-based civil rights protections that the Biden Administration destroyed. As the Department of Education's Office opens investigations into schools that allegedly allowed men into female-only intimate spaces, we pray that these violators be found out. May each one be stopped if these schools want to continue to receive Federal funding.

Pratt on Track for LA Mayor Showdown

Spencer Pratt, the reality television villain turned Los Angeles mayoral candidate, is on track for a showdown with incumbent Democrat Mayor Karen Bass.
While Pratt has not yet officially locked in a top-two finish, returns coming in from the Golden State on Wednesday morning show him in second place and maintaining a comfortable lead over Los Angeles Councilmember Nithya Raman, according to the Associated Press.
Bass, however, held the top spot with 36.7% of the vote just after 10 p.m. PDT when the Associated Press determined she would advance to the November general election. The call for Bass came in with less than 50% of the estimated vote counted.
Meanwhile, Pratt had captured 29.6% of the vote, a strong second place. Raman trailed in third with 20.8% of the vote.
Under Los Angeles election rules, candidates compete in a nonpartisan primary. If no candidate receives a majority of votes, the top two finishers advance to the general election.
“The communists already lost,” Pratt said Tuesday night in an interview with reporters outside of his election night party, seeming to reference his opponents Nithya Raman and Karen Bass. (The Daily Signal) Read more here.

An Obama-appointed federal judge temporarily blocked the National Park Service from removing an anti-Trump "86 47" flag near the National Mall, delivering a win to a progressive activist group and drawing sharp pushback from President Donald Trump’s Department of the Interior.
"This opinion is from an Obama-appointed judge. In what world have we lost all decency, to demand that any threat against the President be taken very seriously," said a DOI spokesperson to Fox News Digital. "While the Department shall and does comply with the Court's orders, this type of behavior should not be tolerated."
Progressive group Accountability Now USA flew the flag near the National Mall alledging that the National Park Service violated their First Amendment rights by threatening to revoke their permit. U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss in Washington, D.C., granted a temporary restraining order Monday allowing the flag to remain displayed for now.
The administration has interpreted the number "86" as a political threat, pointing to its common use in the restaurant industry to mean removing or refusing service and its perceived connection to Trump as the 47th president.
Moss was appointed to the federal bench by Obama after previously serving in Bill Clinton’s Justice Department. He has also contributed to and volunteered for Democratic candidates and causes. The judge found the meaning of "86" ambiguous, noting the flag itself did not contain violent symbols and bore patriotic colors, writing "the evidence shows that Plaintiff displayed the 8647 flag to urge that Congress impeach and remove President Trump from office."
Moss did note that "a true threat to the life or safety of the President would undoubtedly outweigh the interest of the public or the speaker in continuing to urge that unlawful conduct."

We thank You that the Department of the Interior has taken note of this violation and have brought it to this court. We repent for ANY act of treason that would endanger the life of our President -- including the flying of this flag!
We note that U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss was appointed to the bench by President Obama, and we are hence wary of any verdict he may render. After this 14 day temporary restraining order comes to an end, if this verdict is not overruled, then we ask that his final opinion be taken to the Supreme Court for adjudication.
As citizens of our nation, who wish only to obey the law, we stand united in objecting to this verdict rendered by Judge Moss. We ask this prayer in Your Name, Holy One, amen and amen!
