Chicago Public Schools will now allow Bible college students into its teaching program, after lawsuit
|
|
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) will no longer bar students from a Bible college from participating in its student-teaching program after reaching a settlement Thursday in the college's religious discrimination case. Moody Bible Institute, a private Christian college in Chicago, sued the Chicago Board of Education in November, alleging CPS had unlawfully blocked its students from participating in the district’s student-teaching program because of the school’s religious hiring practices.
The lawsuit claims CPS excluded Moody students from its student teacher internship program after the college refused to abandon its policy of hiring employees who affirm the school’s statement of faith and agree to live according to its Christian beliefs, including on gender and sexuality. "As a condition of participation, Chicago Public Schools insists that Moody sign agreements with employment nondiscrimination provisions that forbid Moody from employing only those who share and live out its faith," the complaint stated. "Such a requirement is unlawful." Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) said Thursday that the settlement resolves the dispute.
According to the Christian legal group, CPS agreed to modify its Student Teacher Internship Agreement to recognize Moody’s right to maintain its faith-based hiring practices, allowing the college to sign the agreement and participate in the student-teaching program. ADF also said CPS now lists Moody as an approved university partner on its website. "Chicago desperately needs more teachers to fill hundreds of vacancies, and Moody’s students will be well-equipped and qualified to help meet that need," ADF Senior Counsel Jeremiah Galus said in a press release. "Moody holds its faculty and students to high standards of excellence, and we’re pleased to reach this favorable outcome that will allow it to participate in Chicago Public Schools’ student-teaching program," he continued. "We’re hopeful other public officials will take note that they can’t inject themselves illegally and unconstitutionally into a religious non-profit’s hiring practices." (Fox News) Read More Here. >

Trump Puts China Visit on Hold Amid Iran War
|

WASHINGTON—As the Iran war continues, U.S. President Donald Trump said he would delay his long-awaited trip to Beijing, originally set for the end of this month.
“I have to be here, I feel. And so we’ve requested that we delay it a month or so,” Trump told reporters on March 16.
Trump’s visit to China for a summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping was initially scheduled for March 31 to April 2.
Trump indicated earlier that he might postpone his trip to China. He has also urged China to support U.S. efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil transit corridor currently closed by Iran, but Beijing has so far remained unresponsive.
On March 16, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that any delay in the trip would be “because of logistics” rather than the president’s request for assistance to reopen the strait. “It would be a decision the president made as commander in chief to stay in the White House or to stay in the United States while this war is being prosecuted,” he told CNBC.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed Bessent’s remarks. “The dates may be moved,” Leavitt told reporters on March 16. “As commander-in-chief, it’s his No. 1 priority right now to ensure the continued success of this Operation Epic Fury.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

US Cities Face Water Stress Amid Crumbling Infrastructure
|
|
Across large swaths of the United States, drought conditions and the explosion of data centers have brought renewed attention to the future of the water supply. But the biggest concern may be something local governments have known about for years: aging pipes and other decaying infrastructure that could threaten supply even when water is abundant.
More U.S. cities have been facing water stress in recent years. Drought conditions affected more than a third of the nation last year, with almost 30 million Americans living in areas with high water stress, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
At the same time, data centers can consume upward of 5 million gallons of water per day. That’s the equivalent usage of a town with a population between 10,000 and 50,000 people. The number varies, but an estimated 4,149 data centers are currently operational in the United States, with another 2,788 announced or under construction.
But while drought and data center-related water consumption continue to make headlines, an estimated 6.75 billion gallons of treated drinking water are slipping through the cracks in America’s pipes every single day.
It’s a problem U.S. officials have seen coming for more than a decade.
Fast forward to last year, when 75 percent of U.S. city officials and more than half of business executives said they expect water risks to outpace all other infrastructure threats, according to a Schneider Electric study.
“Water is not just essential for life—it’s the backbone of America’s economic strength—yet today the U.S. is facing a major water crisis, driven by dwindling supply and outdated infrastructure,” Sophie Borgne, Water and Environment Segment president at Schneider Electric, stated in a press release.
Contamination is also a growing concern, which can increase water stress by reducing available freshwater.
“A far larger systemic threat to U.S. water security is contamination, because contaminated water requires energy-intensive treatment before it can be returned to beneficial use,” Duplan said. “Treatment, remediation, and advanced purification are capital and energy-intensive processes. That is where the true risk and cost lie.”
Duplan believes U.S. water supplies face the cumulative challenges of “aging assets, energy-intensive treatment, contamination risks, and allocation management under climatic variability.”

In the Midwest, bills were higher than the national average, but the Mid-Atlantic region saw the greatest year-over-year increase in 2024 at 9.5 percent, according to a Bank of America analysis.
Bluefield Research observed in 2025 that U.S. water and sewer bills had risen 24 percent over the previous five years.
“The cost of maintaining and upgrading water infrastructure continues to rise, and these costs are being passed down to ratepayers,” Megan Bondar, an analyst at Bluefield Research, said in a press release. (The Epoch Times) Read more. [Hint: this is a HUGE

BREAKING: SAVE America Act Clears Major Hurdle in the Senate And Is One Step Closer to Becoming Law

The SAVE America Act is one step closer to becoming law after the Senate voted Tuesday afternoon to begin debate of the legislation.
“By a vote of 51-48, the Senate agreed to the motion to lay before the Senate the House Message to accompany S. 1383, the SAVE Act,” the Senate Press gallery posted on the social media site X.
“GOP Senator Murkowski voted No. Senator Tillis did not vote,” the post added.

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, or SAVE America Act, has been a top priority for President Donald Trump and his administration during his second term.
Trump threatened to withhold primary support for any GOP lawmaker who doesn’t support the bill, and has repeatedly called on Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota to send it to his desk.
“The Save America Act is one of the most IMPORTANT & CONSEQUENTIAL pieces of legislation in the history of Congress, and America itself,” the commander in chief wrote on Truth Social Thursday.
“NO MORE RIGGED ELECTIONS! Voter I.D., Proof of Citizenship, No Rigged Mail-In Voting (We are the only Country in the World that allows this!), No Men in Women’s Sports, No Transgender MUTILIZATION of our Children. 90% to 99% ISSUES ALL! Only sick, demented, or deranged people in the House or Senate could vote against THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,” he continued.
Trump added, “If they do, each one of these points, separately, will be used against the user in his/her political campaign for office – A guaranteed loss! Get your Senators, REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT, to VOTE ‘YES’ ON ‘THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.'”

1. Katz: Israeli strike eliminates top Iranian official Ali Larijani - JNS
The Israel Defense Forces on Monday eliminated senior Iranian security official Ali Larijani, believed to be responsible for ordering the killings of thousands of anti-regime protesters, Defense Minister Israel Katz said.
“I have just been updated by the chief of staff that Larijani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and the head of the Basij—Iran’s central repression apparatus—[Gholamreza] Soleimani, were eliminated last night,” Katz said in remarks on Tuesday morning.
Larijani had long been a senior figure in Tehran’s power structures and recently served as secretary of its Supreme National Security Council, which has the final say over policies, including the nuclear program. (Read more)

2. Reza Pahlavi announces Committee for Transitional Justice in Iran.

Prince Reza Pahlavi, the son of the last Iranian Shah, announced today (Monday) the formation of the Committee for Drafting the Framework for Transitional Justice in Iran (the “Committee"). This Committee will lay the groundwork for a Special Court to prosecute the regime’s perpetrators of crimes against humanity, as well as a Truth Commission.
Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has been appointed by Pahlavi as Chair of the Committee.
The Transitional Justice program is a critical component of the Prince’s plan for a lawful transition as set out in the Iran Prosperity Project (the “Plan"). Developed by experts, this Plan sets out a legitimate political, legal, and economic transition for Iran.

3. Hezbollah fires dozens of rockets at northern Israel - Israel National News
The terrorist organization Hezbollah launched a heavy barrage of rockets this evening (Tuesday) toward northern Israel. A significant portion of the rockets were intercepted, and so far, there have been no reports of injuries.
Residents reported loud explosions and several impact sites in open areas. A building was struck in Carmiel.
According to estimates, at least 40 rockets were fired across wide areas-from communities in the Upper Galilee to the region of Hadera. Launches were also recorded toward central Israel, though they apparently failed. (Read more)

4. ‘Only IDF presence in Lebanon can defend northern Israel’ - World Israel News
The Israel Defense Forces has officially initiated ground operations in southern Lebanon, marking a major milestone in the campaign to push Hezbollah terror forces away from northern Israeli communities.
The Israeli military confirmed on Monday that in recent days, troops from the 91st Division began “limited and targeted ground operations against key Hezbollah strongholds in Southern Lebanon.”
The military stated that this activity is aimed at enhancing the forward defense area.
These operations include the systematic dismantling of terrorist infrastructure and the elimination of terrorists operating in the area, aiming to remove threats and create “an additional layer of security for the residents of northern Israel,” the IDF stated.

An anti-Israel group of current and former U.N. staff members held a webinar earlier this month during regular work hours about “training on advocacy and persuasion for the human rights of Palestinians.”
United Staff for Gaza, which used to be called and, in several places, is still listed as “UN Staff for Gaza,” sponsored the afternoon training session on March 4.
Aleksandra Risteska, a New York-based U.N. program management officer and one of the webinar organizers, said that it “has not always been easy to walk the line between abiding by U.N. staff rules and regulations while speaking up about what should be, at its core, really grave human rights violations.” (Read more)

1. Judge threatens to hold sheriff in contempt of court after police refuse order to release violent criminal with 35 arrests - The Blaze
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is facing contempt of court charges after it refused to release a violent criminal with 35 arrests.
Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Eric Goodman said that 36-year-old Joshua Sanchez-Lopez should be released and placed on electric monitoring, but police say he's too much of a risk.
Sanchez-Lopez has previous convictions that include involuntary manslaughter and drug charges and was arrested in January on a charge of grand larceny of a motor vehicle. Goodman said he could be released from jail and monitored if he posted bail.
Metro police told the judge on Jan. 29 they would not release Sanchez-Lopez, in defiance of his order.
In a statement on social media, Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo of Nevada said he backed the police. (Read more)

2. 'Nationwide pattern to subvert': Congress gets pushed to intervene in Democrats' anti-Trump lawfare - WND
It is Fox News that has reported America First Legal, a nonprofit founded by Stephen Miller, a Trump adviser, is calling on U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the chief of the House Judiciary Committee to open an investigation into "lawfare" by Democrat states that is part of Democrats' campaign to block Trump and plans.
"America First Legal Foundation ('AFL') has uncovered a nationwide pattern to subvert the agenda of the Trump administration: Democrat-controlled states have filed lawsuits against the Trump administration, yet in many cases, the states are unable to show any support for their alleged injuries," explained AFL legal counsel Will Scolinos.
A lawfare tracker report said there now are more than 200 active cases challenging the president's authority to run the Executive Branch, and make other decisions.
Scolinos confirmed, in the report, a review found many "without concrete evidence to back up the claims they make."
"AFL's investigation reveals that these Democrat-controlled states are pleading allegations of harm for which there is no corresponding evidence to support their claims," the organization told Jordan. (Read more)

3. US Agencies Terminated or Reduced 95 Wasteful Contracts Worth $2 Billion: DOGE - The Epoch Times
U.S. federal agencies have terminated or descoped 95 wasteful contracts with a ceiling value of $2 billion over the previous four weeks, saving $757 million in taxpayer funds, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said in a March 14 post on X.
Terminated contracts include a $75,400 State Department media contract for “media monitoring services,” a $45.6 million Office of Personnel Management services contract for “talent acquisition support,” and a $98.5 million research contract from the Department of Education to “follow and study high school students throughout their high school careers.”
The cancellation of $2 billion worth of contracts comes after agencies terminated or descoped 273 contracts with a ceiling value of $5.1 billion for the four weeks prior to Feb. 14, DOGE said in an X post. These cancellations saved taxpayers $1.4 billion. (Read more)

We pray for more contracts to be cancelled and irresponsible funding of foolishness brought to a halt, in Jesus's name. There are very real-world needs in this nation, such as infrastructure, that are being neglected while ridiculous activities receive massive monies and we pray for it all to be stopped, in Jesus's name.

5. Rep. Sessions to Newsmax: Democrats Deceive on DHS Fight - Newsmax
Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, told Newsmax on Monday that Democrats are deliberately trying to deceive Americans into believing Republicans are responsible for the Department of Homeland Security funding impasse, even as threats continue to mount at home.
"We're dealing with terrorists and potential terrorists here at home," Lotter said. "We've still got a stalemate with the funding fight for the Department of Homeland Security."
Lotter turned to comments from Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., on NBC's "Meet the Press," where he claimed Democrats had offered "vote after vote, resolution after resolution" to reopen agencies and that Republicans had voted those efforts down.

Mighty King, we long to see justice exercised against liars and thieves, in Jesus's name and we pray for a breakthrough of truth to defeat the deceptions in this matter. We ask Holy One, that Congress would stop bullying the employees of the Department of Homeland Security and provide the financial resources for everyone, even if it means their own salaries are withheld, in Jesus's name. We pray down the two-tiered culture of our government and ask for people of good faith to be leading it, instead.

Every election cycle brings a familiar storyline. One party accuses the other of trying to rig the system. In recent weeks, several Democratic attorneys general announced plans to investigate what they describe as potential election meddling by President Donald Trump and Republicans ahead of the midterms. The effort, reported widely in national media, claims that changes to election laws or federal pressure on states could undermine the vote. Yet many Americans hear these accusations and remember the past several election cycles, where disputes over ballot rules, voter registration, and vote counting dominated the headlines. We are witnessing political trench warfare over election integrity.
At the center of the debate is the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, known as the SAVE Act. The bill passed the House and would require documentary proof of US citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, such as a passport or birth certificate. Supporters argue the measure is simple election security, a way to ensure that only citizens participate in federal elections. Critics say it could create barriers for some legitimate voters who lack easy access to the required documentation. Trump slams allies’ low ‘enthusiasm’ for his proposed coalition to open Hormuz

US President Donald Trump on Monday accused allies of showing low “enthusiasm” for the coalition he proposed to help secure the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most vital route for oil tankers.
Trump also said he could wrap up the war this week but does not think he will, while defending the conflict as necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
“It’ll be wrapped up soon,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “We’re going to have a much safer world.”
Shipping in the Persian Gulf waterway has come to a virtual halt after Tehran threatened to target vessels there in response to the bombing campaign that the US and Israel launched on Iran on February 28 in a bid to destabilize the regime and set back its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
Trump on Saturday urged allied countries to help the US ensure safe passage through the strait, the closure of which has led to a sharp rise in oil prices. He has said Israel was helping the US secure the strait.
Speaking at an event at the White House on Monday, Trump said, “Numerous countries have told me they’re on the way.”
“Some are very enthusiastic about it… and some aren’t,” he said, without elaborating. “The level of enthusiasm matters to me.”
“We strongly encourage the other nations to get involved with us and get involved quickly, with great enthusiasm,” he said, adding that one or two countries would likely decline to join the initiative.
He claimed skeptics of the initiative included countries that the US has helped for many years, and that securing the Strait of Hormuz would be more beneficial to other countries than to the US because the latter does not use the strait to import oil.
“We don’t need anybody. We’re the strongest nation in the world,” he said. “I’m almost doing [this initiative]… because I want to find out how [countries will] react. I’ve been saying for years that if we ever did need them, they won’t be there.”

Top E.U. Diplomat on Middle East Conflict: ‘This Is Not Europe’s War’

The European Union’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, said during a Monday press conference the ongoing war in Iran is “not Europe’s war,” but noted Europe’s interests are “directly at stake” as the conflict widens.
“This is not Europe’s war, but Europe’s interests are directly at stake. As this war expands, the EU’s priority remains the protection of our citizens,” Kallas told reporters after a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) in Brussels.
“We have evacuated more than 30,000 from the region, many on the flights also funded and organized by the European Union,” she continued.
The E.U. official, however, noted that restarting the shipments of fertilizers, food, and energy through the Strait of Hormuz is “another urgent priority,” and detailed that she discussed with EU partners options to “better protect the shipping in the region.”
Kallas pointed out that the European Union already has a naval presence in the area through Operation Aspides, the ongoing EU naval command in the Red Sea.
“There was in our discussions a clear wish to strengthen this operation. But for the time being, there was no appetite in changing the mandate of operation Aspides — for now,” Kallas said.
“While the Strait of Hormuz is at the center stage, the Red Sea also remains critical. The risk that Houthis get involved is real, so we must remain vigilant,” she continued.
On Sunday, President Donald Trump told the Financial Times there will be a “bad future” for NATO if its members do not help the United States’ efforts against Iran’s actions at the Strait of Hormuz.
Asked by reporters on Monday on Trump’s remarks and if she thinks that the war in Iran is going to be more linked to Ukraine and NATO, Kallas said, “all these security theaters are very much interlinked when it comes to the capabilities that are needed in Ukraine or in the Middle East, when it comes to also our attention.”
“That is very, very clear,” she emphasized. “And the actors or our adversaries are also using this. So, this is very, very clear. Now, it is in our interest to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and that is why we are also discussing what we can do in this regard, from the European side.” (Breitbart) Read more here.

Kim Jong-un Threatens ‘Tactical’ Nuclear Strikes During Rocket Launch with Daughter

North Korean communist dictator Kim Jong-un declared that the country’s enemies — namely, America and South Korea — would soon understand “destructive power of tactical nuclear weapon” [sic] during a rocket launch this weekend, state media reported on Sunday.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea’s flagship state news outlet, published photos of the rocket launch showing the dictator alongside his daughter, Ju-ae, believed to be about 12 years old. Kim has been careful to invite and prominently feature his daughter in several recent public appearances, including an excursion to test firearms at a munitions factory last week. South Korean intelligence officials stated this year that they believe Kim has formally chosen his daughter as a successor to his communist regime, which forces the people of North Korea to worship the Kim family.
The text of the KCNA coverage did not mention the younger Kim, offering details instead of the hardware being tested during the event and Kim’s remarks explaining the need for the rocket launches.
“The drill involved twelve 600mm-calibre ultra-precision multiple rocket launchers and two artillery companies,” KCNA explained, revealing that the test took place on Saturday. Another North Korean propaganda outlet, the newspaper Rodong Sinmun, reported that the rockets were shot at an island in the East Sea (also known as the Sea of Japan) and landed with alleged “100 percent” accuracy. Kim suggested in his remarks that the rockets were capable of carrying nuclear payloads.
“He said that the drill would expose the forces hostile to the DPRK, the enemies within the 420-km [about 260 miles] striking range, to uneasiness,” KCNA paraphrased Kim as saying, “making a signaling wave stronger than the aimed, and give them a deep understanding of the destructive power of tactical nuclear weapon.” (Breitbart) Read more

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt pushed back Tuesday on "false claims" in the resignation letter of the nation’s top counterterrorism official, saying President Donald Trump had "strong and compelling evidence" that Iran was going to attack the United States first.
Joe Kent wrote on X earlier this morning that, "After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today." Kent said he could not in "good conscience" support the ongoing war with Iran, claiming that "Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby."
"There are many false claims in this letter but let me address one specifically: that ‘Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation," Leavitt responded. "This is the same false claim that Democrats and some in the liberal media have been repeating over and over."

Museum unveils temple, 2,000 years old, measuring 49 by 53 feet with painted white walls and ornate hearth
|

Archaeologists have uncovered a 2,000-year-old temple in Denmark — offering a glimpse into the mysterious, once-powerful society that built it.
The Museum of Central Jutland (Museum Midtjylland) unveiled the discovery of the temple at Hedegård, an ancient site that contains Scandinavia's "largest and richest burial site," according to its website. The latest excavation began last August.
Hedegård, located near Ejstrupholm north of the Skjern River, has been identified as Denmark's largest settlement from the time "around the birth of Christ," the museum said.
Working with researchers from Museum Horsens and Moesgaard Museum, archaeologists found evidence of a vast fortified settlement that once served as a regional power center during the Iron Age.
The settlement has yielded luxury goods, weapons from Celtic tribes and "prestige" items from Roman workshops.
Evidence shows the settlement "flourished in the period leading up to the birth of Christ."
The museum said that "this is when we see the rich graves and numerous weapon graves in the cemetery north of the village."
